Grumpy!Ethan x Sunshine!Reader
I’ve been feeling really motivated lately to write and I’m trying to get as many fics posted as possible while I have this burst of creativity. SO this is another crack fic based off an actual dream I had and could not stop laughing about when I woke up.
Warnings: none unless you hate sunshine girls
Tumblr media
He was dreaming of peace. Warm skin pressed to his. Soft lips. The scent of your shampoo. Until he was rudely, well more like…softly, awakened by a weight on his chest.
It was sudden and sharp. Your small hands came up pinning his shoulders. His eyes cracked open at that.
You were sitting on him. Straddling his chest in your cute little ruffled socks, one of his t-shirts, and a very determined look in your eyes that definitely should've worried him more than it did.
For a split second he was sure he was still dreaming, "Baby?" His voice was laced with sleep, making it deeper than it usually was.
You leaned in slowly, your nose barely touching his as you spoke. "I had a dream."
"....Okay?"
The expression on your face was not clueing Ethan in on anything that was happening right now. "We had a garden full of ladybugs. Like, hundreds of thousands. They had their own tiny helmets. And a flag."
He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment. "A flag." "Uh huh. Our faces were on it. And they were trained to follow orders. My orders."
"Your bug militia?" His voice was flat. "An army of ladybugs, Ethan!" You sat up straighter, still determined look in your eyes, "And now we have to make it real." He groaned and dropped his head back on to the pillow. "It's barely 7am."
"They're waiting for us, Ethan! In the bushes. Ready to serve!" He stares at you for a long, slow beat.
"You're mentally unsound." "Yeah well you chose me." You shrugged.
He sighed, knowing he was not getting out of this. "Are you gonna let me up or..." "Nope. Not until you agree to help me train the ladybugs!" "Oh my god- Fine, baby. I'll help." You let out a squeal of happiness at that, even though you and Ethan both knew he never really had a choice to begin with.
"General Grump of the 7th Bug Battalion, sworn to protect the sacred garden kingdom and its beloved princess commander of sunshine, me!" It was taking a lot of strength from Ethan not to laugh. "I would say I can't believe you woke me up to catch ladybugs for an army, but I can believe it." "Yep. I also made them little name tags." "Of course you did."
He couldn't even find it in himself to be annoyed if he tried. You were just so serious, yet deranged in your little sunshine mission. He couldn't do anything but love you even more than he already did.
"Alright, baby, let's go start your war." You squealed again and jumped off of his chest. "Meet me outside! I'm gonna lay out the bug bins!"
Ethan softly sighs as he drags himself up. Shirtless, still half asleep, but still fully yours and fully in love with you.
A few moments later, he's in the backyard with you. Armed with a mason jar, and his hair still sticking up in all directions from sleep. He looked way too dreamy for someone whose sleep was just interrupted for such a deranged task. Meanwhile, you explained bug ranks and gave a very passionate speech about defending the honey bees land.
"You know normal couples just get brunch." He muttered as he gently coaxed a ladybug into the mason jar.
With a silly smile, you hand him a stick with a little red flag taped to it, "I don't think we've ever been a normal couple, honey." You then take the mason jar from his hands and study it. And Ethan study's you. Radiant, barefoot, talking to your jar of ladybugs like they were tiny knights, and he just sighs in content before placing a sweet kiss to your cheek. "Normal is boring anyway."
And then a leaf rustled.
A new recruit arrived.
And the ladybug legion grew stronger.

IAT – GAR Structure Jedi & Clones (AU)
Worked out this guide for the military structure and number of clone troopers per unit for the GAR & Co.
Most of it is taken from canon, with some details and minor adjustments for the AU :)
General thoughts and overview for the setting are collected in this post (continually updated) – though I might end up making separate posts elaborating on the different points & characters.
Jedi Ranks (GAR)
Council Member -> High General
Master -> General
Knight -> Commander
Senior Padawan -> Major
Padawan -> Captain
Padawans may lead companies when necessary, though it's generally avoided. Exceptions can be made for senior Padawans to command battalions on their own.

▼ Year 1 estimate GAR count ▼
20,480 Companies = Captains / Majors
5,120 Battalions = Battalion Commanders
1,280 Regiments = Jedi Commanders / Regimental Commanders
320 Brigades = Jedi Generals/Commanders / Senior Commanders
80 Corps = Experienced Jedi Generals / Marshal Commanders
20 Sector Armies = 20 High Jedi Generals
10 Systems Armies = 10 of the 20 High Jedi Generals
Several corps and the personal battalions therein are under direct joint command of clones and Jedi generals overseeing larger units, such as experienced Masters or council members. -> Kenobi oversees the 3rd Systems Army and 3rd Sector Army therein, directly leading the 7th Sky Corps and the 212th Attack Battalion, with Cody as his second-in-command.
Clone commanders of higher rank have a personal battalion they lead on top of the unit they oversee. -> e.g. Cody is the marshal commander of the 7th Sky Corps, while personally commanding the 212th Attack Battalion.
There are always 20 active members on the Jedi High Council – 10 experienced council members are each assigned a systems army, while also responsible for one sector and personally overseeing a corps therein. The remaining members oversee one of the other 10 sectors and command a corps each, as well.
Special Forces
Special task forces comprised of elite clone commandos, trained by Mandalorians. They are capable of carrying out special operations, such as covert infiltration, sabotage, demolition and assassination.
Squad (4)

Special Operations Brigade (10,000)
★ Jedi General -> 20 Commando Groups
Five commando groups were utilized during the battle of Geonosis, of which only a tenth survived as the rest were subsequently killed in a trap laid by Geonosian forces.
Advanced Recon Commandos (600+)
ARC troopers are clones who received additional training by Alpha-class commandos post-Geonosis, turning them into elite soldiers capable of independent and creative thinking on the field. The original Alphas are especially independent and were personally trained by Jango Fett, which greatly influenced their capabilities.
-> 100 Alpha-class Commandos -> 500+ Clone Troopers (Year 1 estimate)
After the initial training of most command clones, only five Alphas would remain on Kamino to continue training a 100 troopers each over the course of three months before deployment. Among them were Alpha-17 and the four ARC commanders of Rancor Battalion.
Homeworld Security Command
Homeworld Security operates differently to the GAR – shock troopers, specialists and elite units are trained on Coruscant for an urban setting and regular contact with the general public. Units are assembled per situation and structured to be split into pairs, including command staff and medics.

Coruscant Guard (46,670)
The Coruscant Guard ("Corries") are the Coruscant-based specialized branch of HSC – other major Core Worlds are given their own minor Guard and supplemental security. Guard duties are a lot more extensive compared to standard HSC deployed shock troopers, which primarily focus on security and patrols.
★ Marshal Commander Fox ★ Senior Commander Stone ★ Regimental Commander Thorn ★ Regimental Commander Thire (later promotion)
Control Division (16,440)
Security Division (14,990)
Diplomatic Division (15,240)
Commander Stone acts as the default second-in-command of the Coruscant Guard and handles most of the administrative work, while Commander Fox sees more use in operations throughout the city-levels due to his exceptional performance within the Control Division.
Republic Medic Corps (68,904)
Trained clone medics are deployed to all of the other units, typically under the supervision of a (Chief) Medical Officer provided by the Republic Navy or Jedi MedCorps.
-> 1 CMO + 1 MO per 64 Medics -> Medics = ca. 1 per Platoon/36 Troopers

After Iranian-financed-and-trained Hamas terrorists – together with Palestinian Authority and civilian Gazan terrorists – murdered, gang-raped, gouged, mutilated, dis-limbed, beheaded, burned and tortured over 1,200 Jewish Israeli babies, children, men and women (including dozens of Americans), wounded over 5,000 more and took another 250 more hostage on October 7th, President Biden correctly declared that Hamas’ atrocities were “pure, unadulterated evil.”
Yet now, the Biden/Blinken/shadow-Obama administration is deliberately siding with and defending pure, unadulterated evil. This is sinister. During Biden’s April 4, 2024 phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden threatened Israel and demanded an immediate Israeli ceasefire, aligning the U.S. with Arab terrorist Hamas’ demands. (On the same day, Hamas launched a series of rockets into Israel’s civilian areas. So how on earth can Biden be demanding an Israeli ceasefire?) Biden threatened surely hostile-to-Israel policy changes if Israel doesn’t accede to U.S. demands.
If Israel succumbs to Biden’s immediate ceasefire demand, this would leave the remaining hostages subject to Hamas’ continuing rape and torture indefinitely; leave Israel with no negotiating leverage or military options for obtaining the hostages’ release; and would enable Hamas to emerge victorious, regroup, rebuild, and murder and torture Israelis again and again and again in the future, as Hamas leaders have promised. Biden’s demand thus calls for Israel to lose the war against Arab terrorist organization Hamas, a proxy of our arch enemy, the evil terrorist Islamic Republic of Iran.
Moreover, on the same day, Secretary of State Antony Blinken falsely, sickeningly and outrageously suggested that Israel is at risk of becoming indistinguishable from Hamas if Israel loses its reverence for protecting every human life – but ignored Israel’s real, extraordinary efforts and record of protecting Gazan civilians. As Colonel Richard Kemp, former British Commander in Afghanistan explained, Israel has the world’s most moral army and takes risks to protect civilians that no other army in the world has ever taken – while Hamas’ official policy is committing war crimes. Similarly, the Chair of West Point’s Modern War Institute, Major (ret.) John Spencer, and human rights lawyer Arsen Ostrovsky noted that “accusing Israel of intentionally targeting civilians . . . is a malicious distortion of truth,” and that in fact “The IDF has gone to unprecedented lengths, not seen in the history of modern warfare, to abide by the laws of war and avoid harm to civilians, even when doing so puts the IDF’s own soldiers at risk.” Israel has the lowest ratio of civilian-to-combatant terrorist deaths in history.
From this U.S. administration’s outset, it has pursued policies deliberately designed to weaken, harm and endanger Israel and empower Iran and Iranian proxies bent on destroying Israel. Upon taking office, Biden immediately stopped enforcing maximum sanctions – and enabled Iran to advance from near-bankruptcy of $4 billion in reserves to $100 billion in reserves, rescuing Iran’s ability to fund its proxies Hamas’ and Hezbollah’s attacks on Israeli civilians and armed forces. Biden also immediately resumed funding UNRWA (which is full of Hamas terrorists, hides Hamas weapons and control centers, and teaches children to murder Jews); and resumed funding Palestinian Authority government functions (enabling the PA to continue its $400 million per year of pay-to-slay payments to Arab terrorists to murder Jews).
And virtually every person Biden appointed to an important post is hostile to Israel or Jews, or both.
In May 2021, when Hamas launched 4,500 rockets at Israel in 10 days, Biden demanded that Israel agree to an early ceasefire that enabled Hamas to regroup, rebuild and prepare for October 7th.
In October 2022, the administration pressured Israel to surrender 330 square miles of natural-gas-rich maritime territory to Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, thereby enriching Iranian terror-proxy Hezbollah with billions of dollars, and weakening Israel. Hezbollah’s attacks on northern Israel in recent months have displaced some 80,000 Israelis.
Biden imposed a boycott on Israeli scientific and academic cooperation over the artificial “green line.” And the Biden administration initiated a Negev Forum that transformed the Abraham Accords from a Sunni-Israeli alliance against Iran into a Sunni-U.S. alliance against Israel. The entire basis of the Abraham Accords was to end the Palestinian Arab veto over Middle East peace; but Biden and Blinken reversed this.
During the past six months, the administration has intentionally ratcheted up harmful-to-Israel actions and anti-Israel propaganda. The administration released $26 billion to Iran – while Iran is financing Hamas’ and Hezbollah’s terror wars against Israel. The administration also repeatedly falsely accused Israel of not doing enough to protect Gazan civilians – despite Israel’s extraordinary record of protecting civilians while fighting vicious terrorists; demanded “pauses” and other forms of ceasefires; demanded that Israel cannot leave a buffer zone in Gaza to prevent future October 7ths; and tied legislation to aid Israel to unpopular unrelated legislation – which would prevent or hamper the aid to Israel from being enacted.
The administration also repeatedly betrayed Israel (and Israeli and American hostages) at the United Nations Security Council. On November 14, 2023 (the same day that 300,000 Jews demonstrated support for Israel in Washington, D.C.) the Biden administration enabled the passage of UNSC Resolution 2712 (2023) calling for days-long “urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors throughout the Gaza Strip.” On December 22, 2023, the Biden administration enabled passage of UNSC Resolution 2720 (2023), which helped Hamas obtain supplies to continue its war crimes and called for urgent measures towards stopping the destruction of the Hamas terrorist evil. And on March 25, 2024, the administration enabled passage of UNSC Resolution 2728 (2024) calling for an immediate ceasefire – without making the ceasefire conditional on releasing the hostages.
The administration also used the occasion of Israel fighting for its life to repeatedly demand that Palestinian terrorists must be rewarded with a Palestinian Arab terror state; and to try to undermine Israel’s binding legal rights to Judea/Samaria and Jerusalem. In February 2024, the administration falsely declared that Jews building homes in Judea/Samaria is illegal (reversing the “Pompeo Doctrine” which confirmed that Jewish communities in Judea/Samaria are legal). And on February 1, 2024, Biden issued an antisemitic executive order, accompanied by a coordinated State Department announcement, imposing sanctions on Jews in Judea/Samaria, while ignoring rampant Arab terrorism in and stemming from Judea/Samaria, incited by the Palestinian Authority’s Nazi-like “pay-to-slay” rewards to terrorists to murder Jews.
Biden also falsely condemned Israel for “indiscriminate bombing” in Gaza and an “over the top campaign.” Such false charges are hardly the statements of a true friend and ally. And Biden/Blinken’s latest condemnation of Israel unintentionally killing members of a food convoy, when Biden/Blinken knows that these tragic mistakes happen in any war – including in America’s wars against Iraq and Afghanistan – again shows the U.S. attempting to weaken the U.S.-Israel alliance.
In addition, Biden’s March 7, 2024 State of the Union address was the most hostile, anti-Israel SOTU address ever: Biden demanded a Palestinian state “solution” that imperils Israel’s very existence; overstated displaced Gazans and never mentioned the 200,000 Jews still displaced by Hezbollah’s bombardments in the north and Hamas’ destruction of southern Israeli communities; wrongly demanded that Israel must make protecting Gazan civilians Israel’s “first priority (not defeating Hamas and recovering the hostages); parroted Hamas’ unverified and surely false propaganda casualty numbers; falsely intimated that Israel is using humanitarian aid as a “bargaining chip” and isn’t “doing its part” – while completely ignoring that Hamas steals the massive humanitarian aid that Israel has facilitated into Gaza; spoke of working for an immediate ceasefire; and omitted Iran’s role in Gaza, Lebanon, and the October 7th massacre.
Unfortunately, the horrors listed above are only a partial list of the Biden/Blinken/Obama shadow administration’s deliberate acts to weaken Israel and strengthen the terrorists that are trying to destroy Israel. For instance, see more here, here and here.
It is deeply disturbing that our nation’s administration is intentionally siding with the forces of pure unadulterated evil against our human-rights-loving ally, the democratic Jewish State of Israel.
It is painful for us to say this, but all of the evidence indicates that the Biden/Blinken/Obama policies are not mere attempts at misguided appeasement, or the results of stupidity or ignorance or false hope. But, in fact, these anti-Israel policies are made with full understanding of their dangerous import. All the evidence indicates that this is a conscious attempt to weaken Israel, or worse.

REVIEW OF "BE'ERI MASSACRE", DETAILS CATASTROPHIC ERRORS BY ISRAELI OCCUPATION ARMY
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have released the results of a review of the so-called "Be'eri Massacre" on October 7th, 2023, when Palestinian Resistance factions from the Gaza Strip launched a major attack on Israeli military bases and settlements; assaulting, shooting and kidnapping settlers and soldiers, and bringing them back to Gaza as hostages.
The review, one which continues to develop, has been divided into several parts as separate investigations, alongside a general one, with the first of these covering the Be'eri settlement attacks, an event which took place on the morning of October 7th.
The Israeli occupation army claims that "hundreds" of Palestinian resistance fighters entered Kibbutz Be'eri, an Israeli settlement northeast of northern Gaza and roughly 15 kilometers west of the settler city of Netivot, where resistance fighters are alleged to have attacked and killed scores of security personnel and settlers, while also attempting to take large numbers of hostages, successfully taking several dozen back to Gaza.
The occupation army claims that residents were "left to fend for themselves" for several hours as the IOF failed to arrive to the Kibbutz, while the resistance fighters are accused to going home to home kidnapping, "brutalizing" and "massacreing civilians" well into the afternoon, according to the official account.
In a statement issued by occupation army spokesperson, R.Adm. Daniel Hagari, hr describes the Be'eri settlement as one of the largest occupation settlements in the western Negev Desert area.
Hagari alleges that 101 "members" (settlers) were killed, while 30 "members" were taken hostage by resistance forces, and, additionally, two Nova festival-goers who sought to hide in the kibbutz were found and taken hostage by the fighters.
Of those, 11 remain in Resistance custody to this day.The statement argues that the resistance fighters penetrated the settlement from several different entry-points, for what Hagari claims was a total of "340 terrorists by midday on October 7th."
"In the fighting that lasted three days, our forces overcame the terrorists but at a very heavy price: 31 members of the security forces – members of the rapid response team, IDF soldiers, and Israel Police officers fell in the battle," Hagari said of the attacks.
Additionally, Hagari states that "There is almost no unit that participated in the battles that did not lose a soldier or commander."
"Alongside acts of heroism and bravery, serious mistakes and errors were made, which were examined in the inquiry and must be acknowledged," the army spokesperson added.
The investigation of the events in Be'eri on October 7th were conducted by Maj. Gen. (res.) Mickey Edelstein, former commander of the Gaza Division of the occupation forces, according to the statement.
Hagari stated that, after an investigation, the inquiry team found that the settlers and soldiers that occupied Kibbutz Be'eri received no assistance in the fighting from the IOF for at least the first 7 hours of the attack.
Hagari argues that many of the mistakes made by occupation army commanders and security forces were a result of a "lack of understanding of the events magnitude" and the absence of an "operational assessment" and a "deployment of forces built in relation to the scenario the forces trained for that did not match the harsh reality on the ground."
The review found that, despite accumulating as many as 700 occupation soldiers and security personnel, it lacked a command and control until late in the afternoon, resulting in a lack of coordination.
This resulted in several incidents of a lack of engagement with resistance forces in combat, a pattern Hagari says came to define the events for the rest of the evening, which will continue to be "examined" by the general inquiry, which he stated will be released to the public at a future date.
Hagari next examined the infamous Cohen home hostage event that has been so heavily publicized by both the Hebrew and Western media for maximum dramatic effect.
The army spokesperson called the incident an "extreme hostage" event, describing the situation as one in which dozens of Palestinian resistance fighters attempted to take a number of hostages "in the heart of a combat zone," framing the coming admissions in such a way as to preliminarily lowering the expectations that the army might own responsibility for the outcome of the events.
Hagari goes on claim that all security forces, including Yamam forces (Israeli counter-terrorism units), Shin Bet and the Israeli occupation army all "operated professionally and orderly".
He made this claim just moments after admitting the response to the attacks were characterized by a "lack of coordination and order."
Hagari then goes on to claim that the Israeli security forces "exhausted all negotiating efforts", and only after the situation deteriorated did the occupation forces "carry out tank fire" in a "joint decision" to try to "apply pressure to the terrorists."
For Hagari at least, the insanity of firing a tank's artillery shells into a residential home filled with hostages and fighters, which he claims was done only after hearing suspicious sounds of gunfire, seems completely lost on him.
Hagari goes on to conclude that "The team determined that from the information examined so far and to the best of our assessment, no civilians inside the building were hit by tank fire."
The Israeli army spokesperson fails to address whether or not damages caused by the tank fire was responsible for killing any of the hostages, only claiming they were "not hit" by the shelling, and only quickly claiming that it "appears" that "most" of the hostages were "murdered by the terrorists," without expounding on the claim further.
However, Hagari does add that one of the hostages outside of the building (which raises its own questions) was "hit by shrapnel" and that it is "highly likely that one of them was killed as a result."
"The families asked tough questions and raised additional incidents that we will need to inquire, and we will do so together with the families to clarify all circumstances," the army spokesperson added.
Again, despite earlier stating that the response was chaotic and suffered from a "lack of command and control," as well suffering from issues with coordination, Hagari later makes the claim that the inquiry team found that "senior commanders at the scene" had acted in a "coordinated and professional manner," and that they did everything they could to "save civilians", but that, unfortunately, the event ended with "painful results."
Hagari goes on to conclude by saying that the findings were part of a "developing inquiry" in which new information added will be "examined and checked," adding that the occupation army "understand[s] there will be further questions, and answers will need to be provided. We will be there to provide answers."
He continued by stating, "At this stage, the IDF is implementing the lessons learned from the inquiry."
"What stands in front of us is the public’s trust, reaching the truth, and the duty to create good defense – better defense – that the civilians of Israel deserve."
"Even at this moment, the IDF is in the midst of a multi-front, complex war – in the north, Gaza, Judea and Samaria, on land, in the air, and at sea. The inquiries and the pursuit of truth are central values in the IDF in order to avoid past mistakes and to operate in the best way both now and in the future."

In complete contravention of journalistic standards, CNN continues to advocate for US sanctions on Israel in a televised segment by Katie Polglase that aired on The Amanpour Hour on July 13 and in a nearly 4000-word written article posted online. (“The US held off sanctioning this Israeli army unit despite evidence of abuses. Now its forces are shaping the fight in Gaza,” July 13, 2024. The byline of the written article said that it was “by CNN’s International Investigations team,” but Polglase is listed as the investigative reporter.) Moreover, the segment that aired included a baseless claim that echoes the medieval stereotype of Jewish bloodlust.
The Society for Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics states that advocacy and commentary should be labelled. Neither the online article nor the segment that aired are labelled as commentary, and the segment appears to be a news report. Yet, it’s obvious in both that an agenda is being pursued.
The televised segment was ostensibly about Israel, yet it included seven references to supposed U.S. inaction:
Katie Polglase: This is the Netzah Yehuda battalion, an Israeli army unit showcasing their military might in a promotional personal training video. But the unit has a decades-long history of abusing Palestinians in the West Bank. And the Americans know it. A state department investigation found they had committed gross human rights violations but this finding never led to U.S. sanctions. Even media reports of possible sanctions outraged Israel…. Polglase: So despite their track record, the Netzah Yehuda battalion is still receiving American arms and is now operating in Gaza…. Charles Blaha, Former U.S. State Department Official: That is very bad news. That shows first of all, that Israel, that the government of Israel has no intention of holding the Netzah Yehuda battalion accountable. Polglase: He says the U.S. is not following their own laws by sending them weapons. Blaha: Of course, we treat Israel differently and that really undermines our human rights advocacy and the rest of the world. The law that Congress passed and our taxpayer-funded assistance is going to Israeli units that have committed gross violations of human rights. Polglase: This assistance, despite the growing evidence of abuse. CNN exclusively obtained the names of three more Israeli units found by U.S. officials to have committed gross human rights violations prior to October 7th. All are still operating, including the Yamam, seen here in Gaza in an operation that rescued four Israeli hostages, but left nearly 300 Palestinians dead, according to local health authorities. The Israeli military dispute that the toll was so high. As the death and destruction mounts, it is U.S. weaponry supporting these units, begging the question for how much longer will Israel’s greatest ally choose to turn a blind eye.
(Emphasis added.)
The segment seems to be less about Israel and more about U.S. support for Israel. And Polglase does not present anyone advocating the contrary point of view, who might point out, for example, that Israel is fighting a defensive and existential war, one that it did not start and did not want, and it needs the support of its allies now. The segment crosses the line from journalism into advocacy.
But that’s not the only problem with the televised report. Polglase relies on an anonymous source and presents his opinions and speculation with no pushback. The anonymous soldier tells Polglase, “There were some kids throwing rocks in a small village. That normally isn’t a big deal. But the company commander decided, let’s throw them a party. So they took the emergency response team and 20 soldiers. They walk door to door, throwing flash-bangs and gas grenades into people’s homes as a punishment for the kids throwing rocks.”
“Isn’t a big deal,” seems an odd way to describe the large stones frequently thrown at both soldiers and civilians in the West Bank, as they have the potential to be lethal – unlike the stun grenades that the soldier seems to think are, in fact, a big deal.
Polglase then prompts him with a leading question, “Collective punishment?” He obliges her, “Yes. Collective punishment.” This is not the first time we’ve seen Polglase use this type of leading question to elicit a response to condemn Israel. But “collective punishment” is a defined term in international law, and this is not what the term means. Nor does either Polglase or her anonymous source know whether the commander had other reasons for his decision to which the low-level soldier was not privy.
Polglase then admits that CNN has used facial recognition technology to essentially spy on an IDF officer, Lieutenant Colonel Nitai Okashi. She describes an incident that happened under his command in ominous terms, complete with grim background music to set the tone – but on close inspection, she hasn’t revealed anything that Okashi himself did wrong. By Polglase’s own account two Palestinian men were “arrested for assisting the killer of two … Netzah Yehuda soldiers.” The two were beaten by the soldiers on the way to the police station. Obviously this should never have happened, and according Polglase, the soldiers involved received jail time. But she doesnt even claim that Okashi was present when the incident occurred. Even more disturbingly, in the written article online, Polglase doesn’t even mention the reason the two Palestinian men were arrested.

"THE ROCKET THREW ME INTO THE AIR"
Eyewitness account of a soldier who survived the impact of a Hamas rocket
LEE KERN
NOV 11
Tumblr media
I went to a hospital in central Israel. I spoke with a soldier who was the first to arrive at Kfar Aza during the massacre committed by Hamas. In a community of 750 people - 60 were murdered and 17 civilians have been taken hostage in Gaza. As the war is still ongoing, the interviewee is referred to as Soldier H so as to protect his identity. His face is badly scarred on both cheeks after he was hit by an explosion from an RPG. His bandaged hand still doesn’t work properly a month later. Below are notes from our conversation
Soldier H woke on the morning of October 7th. He was on his base with his team. He received a rocket alert on his phone. He woke up his soldiers. He then saw the viral video of Hamas terrorists travelling into Israel by car and shouting Allahu Akbar.
It was 6.54am
He told his men to be ready and they loaded their vehicles.
He called his commander and asked “What shall we do?”
Without a specific command being given, Soldier H and his men drove towards the trouble so they would be nearer and ready to help. They were sixteen soldiers in four vehicles.
As they got closer they saw dead bodies and burned cars by the side of the road.
Hamas had also blocked the road with cars. The intention was to prevent help reaching the civilians being massacred.
Soldier H and his men were then ambushed. They were shot at by terrorists. This was another tactic to slow down the IDF’s ability to reach the kibbutzim. The purpose was to give terrorists in the kibbutz maximum time to kill civilians and to torture them.
Knowing that civilians needed their help - Soldier H and his men decided not to return fire to the terrorists. They chose to accept the bullets being fired at them and move onwards to the kibbutz.
If these terrorists had been in possession of RPGs - Soldier H and his men would have been destroyed in their vehicles - which aren’t designed to withstand rockets.
Continuing onwards, they were getting close to Kfar Aza.
They arrived at the kibbutz.
They saw civilian dead bodies mingled among some IDF bodies.
He saw three dead soldiers.
He saw a mother shot in the head
He saw her child shot in the head
He saw her other child shot in the head
He saw a baby in it’s pram
The baby was shot in the head
There were bodies everywhere
A dead naked woman
Five children - each shot with one bullet in the head
It had been a scene of mass executions
Women, children and babies all shot in their head
Neither he nor his men had ever trained for anything like what they saw
It was a new world
The murder was organised and sophisticated
He had never seen imagery like this since the Holocaust
Seeing the soldiers arrive, Hamas started executing remaining civilians as quickly as they could and took defensive positions
Soldier H and his men started receiving fire
Soldier H knew that the numbers were not in their favour. They were only 16 soldiers. The terrorists numbered 100 to 150.
He knew they had to respond in such a way that the terrorists believed a big army had arrived.
So Soldier H and his men ran towards the danger and took position inside one of the homes
They could see in each others eyes that they all understood they were in a grim situation.
The terrorists had RPG’s, grenades, explosives and heavy machine guns. Soldier H and his men had their personal weapons and a few grenades.
None the less, whilst receiving fire, they went from home to home. They shouted in each house to warn any civilians that might be hiding in their safe room to remain locked inside.
Outside one of these civilian homes they were ambushed by Hamas. Two men were shot and died.
It had been 30 minutes of fighting so far
Two more soldiers were shot and wounded and fell onto their dead comrades.
The remaining soldiers dragged them inside a house
Meanwhile, the drivers who brought the soldiers to the kibbutz had remained with the vehicles
Two of the drivers now drove towards the battle scene to try and evacuate the dead and the wounded
Whilst this attempted evacuation was taking place, Soldier H saw a man in an IDF uniform standing a short way off
Soldier H was aware it could be a trick and that this might be a terrorist in an IDF uniform
The man in the uniform waved at Soldier H
Soldier H made a decision in his heart that he couldn’t risk firing at an IDF soldier, even if it was possibly a trick
The man waved at Soldier H and then produced a rocket launcher which he fired at Soldier H
It landed in front of Soldier H and the impact threw him into the air and backwards
Shrapnel and debris went into his face, hands, stomach and pelvis.
Blood was everywhere
One of his men dragged him into a home and tried to tend to his injuries
He was dazed and tried not to yell from the pain. As their leader he had to be cool to keep them motivated.
The vehicles that had come to evacuate the dead and wounded now had to pull back
The vehicles were too important to risk being destroyed
During the battle, other than warning people to stay in safe rooms, there were no civilians the soldiers could save
There were no wounded
There were only dead
Everyone and every form of life had been killed
Mothers, grandparents, children, babies, animals
Hamas had burned their homes
There were naked women dead in gardens
There were no naked men
Only naked women
He saw a beheaded corpse
At the entrance to one home there was a mother lying face down
She had been shot in the back of the head
There was a dead child hugging her
The child was also shot in the head
The child had been shot second, hugging its mother after she had fallen to the ground
Eventually, other IDF units arrived
With their help, Soldier H and his men were evacuated
Solider H says what he saw will be with him his whole life.
He says Jews can forget that there are people who want to kill us simply because we’re Jews.
Hamas came to torture civilians.
To rape women.
To steal from the dead.
They came to terrorise.
He says the world must know this isn’t Israel vs Hamas. It’s a war between people who value life and those who don’t stand for any civilised values.
Whatever they call themselves: Boko Haram, Hamas, ISIS, Al Qaeda - they all have the same radical Islamic beliefs and have the same goals.
I asked if he has a language for what he saw?
He said it’s a different language from what he knows.
In Israel you’re taught fairytales when you’re a child.
In Gaza they aren’t taught things appropriate for children.
They’re educated to murder Jews
To hate Jews
To be violent.
They are raised this way and it leads to the things he saw in the kibbutz.
Soldier H has currently had two surgeries and is still working on movement in his arm.
He estimates it will be six months before he is rehabilitated

Another two-fer..Walter Krupinski and Erich Hartmann.
Born in the Weimar Republic in 1920, Walter Krupinski joined the Luftwaffe in 1939 and completed his flight training in 1940. Flying with Jagdgeschwader 52 (JG 52–52nd Fighter Wing), he claimed his first victory in August 1941 and his total rose steadily against Soviet Air Forces. In October 1942, Krupinski was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and was appointed squadron leader of 7. Staffel (7th squadron) of JG 52 in March 1943. Krupinski was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves for 174 aerial victories. He was then transferred, serving with Jagdgeschwader 5 (JG 5—5th Fighter Wing) and was then given command of II. Gruppe (2nd group) of Jagdgeschwader 11 (JG 11—11th Fighter Wing) in 1944. Wounded in a flight accident in August, he commanded III. Gruppe of Jagdgeschwader 26 "Schlageter" (JG 26—26th Fighter Wing) following his convalescence in September. He finished the war serving with JV 44, flying the Me 262, and surrendered to the Western Allies in May 1945.
After the war, Krupinski joined the German Air Force of the Bundeswehr, serving until 1976 when he was forced into early retirement. Krupinski died in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid on 7 October 2000.
***************
Pretty sure most of you know who Erich Hartmann was.
Erich Alfred Hartmann was a German fighter pilot during World War II and the most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare. He flew 1,404 combat missions and participated in aerial combat on 825 separate occasions. He was credited with shooting down a total of 352 Allied aircraft: 345 Soviet and 7 American while serving with the Luftwaffe. During his career, Hartmann was forced to crash-land his fighter 16 times after either mechanical failure or damage received from parts of enemy aircraft he had shot down; he was never shot down by direct enemy action.
On 29 October 1943, Hartmann was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross for destroying 148 enemy aircraft and the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross for destroying 202 enemy aircraft on 2 March 1944. Exactly four months later, he received the Swords to the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves for shooting down 268 enemy aircraft. Ultimately, Hartmann earned the coveted Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds on 25 August 1944 for 301 aerial victories. At the time of its presentation to Hartmann, this was Germany's highest military decoration.
Hartmann achieved his 352nd and last aerial victory at midday on 8 May 1945, hours before the German surrender. Along with the remainder of JG 52, he surrendered to United States Army forces and was turned over to the Red Army. In an attempt to pressure him into service with the Soviet-aligned East German National People's Army, he was tried on war crimes charges and convicted. Hartmann was initially sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment, later increased to 25 years, and spent 10 years in Soviet prison camps and gulags until he was released in 1955. While he passed away in 1993, in 1997, the Russian Federation posthumously cleared him of all charges.

Desert Rats
The Desert Rats was the nickname of the 7th Armoured Division of the British Eighth Army, which first fought in North Africa during the Second World War (1939-45). Fighting in the Western Desert Campaigns and the North Africa Campaign, the Desert Rats, so called because of their jerboa shoulder flash, participated in such famous victories as the battles of El Alamein.
Origins & Name
The 7th Armoured Division sprang from the Mobile Division (Egypt), formed in 1938. The division was given excellent training by its commander Major-General Percy Hobart (1885-1957). Hobart had fought in Mesopotamia in the First World War (1914-18), gaining an impressive row of medals for bravery. In the inter-war years, he gained long experience as a tank commander. Hobart also served as a Director of Military Training. A quirky individual who struggled to get on with his peers, Hobart certainly knew what was required for the desert, and it is thanks to his vision that Britain had at least one fighting force that could match the elite of the Axis powers. Hobart's eccentricity and reputation as a flawed genius is revealed by his demise after falling out with the powers that be when the war started, his time spent in the military wilderness as a mere lance corporal in the Home Guard, and then his dramatic rise back to the forefront of generalship when he was given command of whole divisions again, including one of specialised vehicles he himself had developed, used with great success to clear the beaches in the D-Day Normandy landings of 1944.
In a still relatively new concept of mixed arms, Hobart ensured the Mobile Division combined infantry, artillery, and tanks, and it did what its name suggested, emphasising the necessity of movement in modern mechanised warfare. One of Britain's best commanders, Major-General Richard O'Connor (1889-1981), noted in 1939 that the Mobile Division was "the best-trained division I have ever seen" (Liddell Hart, 93).
The Mobile Division earned its 'Desert Rats' nickname from the badge (shoulder flash) its members wore, which showed a jerboa, a small rodent with a long tail, native to the North African desert. Due to the fact that all British and British Empire troops were fighting the same enemy in the same way in the same environment, the name 'Desert Rats' is often applied to any British/British Empire soldier involved in the Desert War in WWII. The extension of the term 'rats' is also evidenced in the nickname 'the Rats of Tobruk' for those Allied soldiers who held out during the siege of Tobruk from April to December 1941.

Pike: So who are you people again? You say you're not here to make war but you just showed up with a big battleship more than three time ours size, full of cloned super soldier.
Obi-Wan: Yes, I understand your confusion. I admit we were going to a battle, which does takes place in a global galactic conflict.
Pike: A galactic conflict that a good quarter of the galaxy doesn't know about.
Obi-Wan: That part confuses us as well. Our instrument tells us we are not in the right galaxy, but we're not sure how it's possible. Anyway, to answer your question Captain, I'm Master Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, commander of the 7th sky corp of the galactic republic army, and member of the Jedi Council.
Pike: So the Jedi are... the leading class of that republic?
Obi-Wan: Absolutely not! We only serves as peace keepers for the republic, which is governed by a senate and a democratically elected chanceler.
Pike: So a military force?
Obi-Wan: Not usually no. Before the war we used to negotiate peaceful resolution to conflicts.
Pike: Why a cast of diplomats would be commanding armies?
Obi-Wan: No see... The Jedi are more than diplomates. And I wouldn't say we are a cast either. Let me explain : We Jedi are users of the Force, which is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us and binds the galaxy together. I mean our galaxy but I sense it here too, so I guess it extend farther than we knew. We suspected it, but now we have confirmation, which is rather fascinating. Using the Force gives us great powers, but it can also drive people to the dark side if they use their power for selfish reasons. So we have to train all our lives to control our emotions. The war we are fighting now has been instigated by a member of another group of users of the Force who use it to gain power. We call them the Sith and you could say they are our mortal ennemies.
Spoke: Fascinating. This is somewhat similar to the history of my people, the vulcans, and the romulans. However you do not seem to repress your feelings like we do.
Obi-Wan: Indeed, we don't. We just accept our feelings and let them pass.
Spoke: At the risk of repeating myself, fascinating. I hope we can find a moment to exchange notes on our methods of dealing with emotions. Are you familiar with the concept of mind meld?
Obi-Wan: This sounds like a interesting idea, but I'm not sure I should let you in my mind. I am a fleet commander and a Jedi Council member after all.

Commander Grady Yensey [Not Your Typical Fairytale]
Tumblr media
After the 8:30 Upper Palace briefing, which Piers still managed to be fifteen minutes late to, Grady switched into her dress uniform. The dark military gray and Piers’ new royal green contrasted with the gold accents and medals marking her status. She made sure not a hair was out of place, nor a button left smudged, nor a wrinkle in the pristine fabric. Some people called her a perfectionist; she defined it as not letting a single thing get out of her control, if she could help it. (Knight of Dawn, Chapter 6)
Quick Facts...
Full Name: Grady Juniper Yensey
Pronouns: she/her
Title: Commander of the Royal Guard Special Operations
Gender: cisfemale
Sexuality: Asexual Queer
Birthday (Age at start): December 7th, 2188 (22)

Siblings: Hansel Olson (adoptive), Gretel Olson (adoptive)
Notable physical features: always wearing lipstick, several facial piercings

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Extended Intro...
Grady Yensey is the other main character, and while her own struggles don't drive the plot as much, she is still an influential character. Born to a former Commander of the Royal Army Elysia Yensey and Army Lieutenant Bastian Yensey, Grady grew up in the Palace alongside Piers. She had a relatively pampered childhood, until both her parents were killed in a different assassination attempt on Queen Adele when she was 8. Captain (then SpOps Commander) Gavin Johnson of the Royal Guard stepped in to raise her after their death, as he was close with her parents. He and his brother David trained her in a variety of military practices at Grady's request, from martial arts to strategy. At 16, the minimum age for entry, Grady entered the Royal Guard Academy under an alias, in order to prove herself without the influence of her mother's last name. At 18, she ranked out with high honors and was assigned as Gavin's successor. From then on, she lived adjacent to Piers serving both as their bodyguard and best friend. When David became Councilor of ATLZoS, the structural power of the Royal Guard shifted, and at 20, Grady obtained her current position. Grady holds herself to the highest standards possible when it comes to her military status and life in general, and refuses to let herself fumble. Often, she's described as other characters as having "a stick up her ass", including but not limited to Piers, Gavin, and Mateo. When not on duty, however, she tends to binge drink (and get sick often). Piers is the only one who she trusts to know and not think differently of her. Regarding her relationship with Piers, Grady loves them dearly, and would do anything for them (knowing they'd do the same for her). As the story progresses, she finds her love for them changing, and is often unsure with how to handle or react to it, which causes her to distance herself from them. Grady is also quite close with the Olson-Johnson family, as she grew up calling Gretel and Hansel her "siblings", although she doesn't anymore. Grady is also acquaintances with Jules Ledet, as the two entered the Academy at the same time.

this is gonna be about Nebuya’s parents and how he came to be born, and is my first time doing HCs so please bear with me :)
His dads name is Andwele/Andi and he is from Tanzania 🇹🇿 and his moms name is Alisha (idk, it’s giving that forme) and she is a black american and they met in middle school (american school system)
Alisha would bully tf out of Andi bc he was the new and he was not having so he kept the same energy but cussed her out in Swahili that shut her up
she liked that and tried to be friends with him afterwards AND IT WORKED by the time they hit 7th grade they became friends and he also taught her a bit of Swahili actually
When they got high-school they gained feelings for each other freshman year and they both knew this, Alisha was waiting on Andi to make the first move but she got impatient and just straight up asked him to be her boyfriend
he said yes while standing in shock like this: “😮”
they got together and became INSEPARABLE, you couldn’t see one w/o the other <3
After graduation and being awarded valedictorian and salutatorian (i’ll let you decide which one got what) Alisha, being the baddie she is, joined the Army and Andi went to college for Software Engineering
When Alisha when to basic training it was hard on them bc it was the first time they have been separated like this without any contact but being the strong willed people they are they got through it
After she got back from basic Andi surprised her with a trip to California Disney for completing the grueling training she went through (she cried up a storm) and he just needed a break from classes
On the last day of the trip they went to see the fireworks show at the castle and he proposed to her and she said yes 🥹
Right after the proposal Alisha got right to work on planning the wedding, Andi had no say in the wedding because he said he didn’t want to “ruin her special day”
BUT she made him pick the color scheme which was blue and white (WHICH ATE BTW)
After a 1 year and 6 months of planning, preparing, and being perplexed about the wedding and about being engaged they said “i do” and went straight into the honeymoon phase
BUTTT that didn’t last long because she got orders to be stationed in Tokyo, Japan which they were both very excited about.
They had 3 months to learn as much Japanese as they could and they learned enough to hold a small conversation
When they arrived to Japan, Alisha found out she was pregnant!!! (they wanted to keep the gender a secret) so she had to go on leave and stayed home which she could handle by herself
Andi at the time started a engineering job for one the top 7 software companies in japan, but don’t worry he still made time for Alisha and took care of her any way she needed
but he still felt bad about not being home enough so he bought a dog to keep Alisha company ( she was an Akita named Star)
By the time her 3rd trimester came they were very nervous about the birth
when i mean “they” i just mean Andi, Alisha had to smack him a couple times to get him to calm down and act straight
then one faithful morning Alisha’s water broke but she was didn’t notice so she was just peeing thinking she just drank too much fluids
Then Andi was like “girl your water broke” and she said “oh that makes sense🧍🏾‍♀️” and they went to hospital
When they got to the hospital (they are both fluent atp) and told the staff what they needed to get for Alisha
and alas OUR BIG BABY NEBUYA EIKICHI WAS BORN
And mean like 9 pounds 9 ounces big, he was a chunky baby (the BEST babies btw)
After the birth one of Alisha’s commanders said that they could move back to the states since Big E (yes that is his nebuya’s nickname)
But Alisha said “i am not about to leave a country when i spent months cramming the language in my head… we staying”
The end :)
a/n this was just random and this is cannon ( i was Alisha’s left big toe) hope y’all enjoyed it!!
