Today is Victory Day in Russia, on this day we hold a massive parade followed by fireworks in the evening. We also have a fairly new tradition called «Immortal regiment», that allows people to honor family members who were affected by World War II: carrying portraits of their relatives, people marsh on the main streets of towns and cities. Originating in the Russian city of Tomsk six years ago, the tradition has since spread all around Russia and beyond: now it is organized in many countries that have major Russian-speaking communities: USA, Canada, Israel, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and even Japan and Australia, spreading further with each year.
