people are so uncharitable sometimes and i simply don’t understand… someone in the music class teacher fb group i’m part of was like “this family keeps signing up for class but only showing up for a couple classes each semester, i’m so irritated that she’s taking up a spot if she’s gonna be so flaky about it” and it’s like first of all you already got her money so why are you complaining. and second of all you don’t know what’s going on in her life?? before i taught and i just took my daughter to class as a parent, i only made it to like half the classes per semester, bc my life was a fucking mess for quite a while after both my partners got postpartum psychosis which led to a messy divorce, but i always had such a good time when i did manage to attend. like okay maybe she just doesn’t care about your time (or her own money??). but maybe she’s signing up for class again bc she DOES appreciate it and she’s SAD that’s she had to miss so many!! even just regular parenting is hard… how can you work with families for your job and not be understanding of that…. smfh
#i wrote a long reply suggesting she approach the family with curiosity and understanding instead of judgement#including a script for a friendly email that leaves space for the parent to explain but doesn’t demand it#and suggests ways she can make the most of it even if she can’t attend often#it’s not that hard to be nice in such a low stakes situation………….#silver.chat

I haven't seen anyone talk about this following the buyout, but the thing about Choices's new direction is that…
AI-generated content? Not copyrightable.

#they can only stake ownership as far as human authorship applies so if the stories are going to feature mainly AI-generated scripts/art…#playchoices

#i had the entire script of the second movie memorized guys when i say i like kfp i fucking mean it#i know the music beat for beat i could probably hum it along to every note#the sound design in both of these....immaculate#BUT THE STORYBOARDING. GOD THE FUCKING STORYBOARDING.#jennifer yuh nelson i love you forever#watching the 4th movie i was SO disappointed in the storyboarding#it was completely uncinematic!!!! and compared to the final fights in both movies the second movies and even the 3rd#the stage was so limited and not played with#it never felt grand and it never felt like the stakes were high enough#like it sucked so much ass AUGHHHGHHGHGH AND IT DIDNT HAVE TO#also the character animation???? also just not great????#like i LOVE how they did tai lung and tigress in the bridge scene ok#you have all the character motivation behind the way they hold and express themselves#and in the gongmen fight. po is just so SO well animated in all his idiosyncrasies#and the way he gets intense. and the way shen panics. and the boss wolf's turn. SO WELL DONE.#this is my fucking white whale guys this is it#videos#kfp#Youtube

muahaha..... after like 3 months of running in circles i finally have (probably) every chapter of reassass figured out with a good deal of them having outlined their own synopsis..... now to just fucking write them 😭😭😭😭😭
#i say probably bcz i might end up slipping in some low stakes chapters for funsies if i have any good ideas#when i first wrote out all the chapters there were like 50 but now counting the epilogue there are just 41#a lot of the old chapters were a bit useless#of course everything still needs refining but im very happy right now#my plan now is - finish detailed outlines -> finish first 5 chapter drafts -> finish character and environment refs ->#finish the first 5 chapter scripts + make 5 more drafts -> MAKE THE GODDAMN COMIC

Ah someone else who has discovered the joys of Camelot (1967) a movie that I am completely normal about. Have you watched it? Because the delivery of the lines is everything and if you need someone to talk to about it I am, once again, completely normal about it. The scene where Lancelot and Arthur first meet?? A masterpiece in sharing a single braincell. And don't even get me started on the way Guenevere first treats Lancelot "have you jousted with humility lately". It's unapologetically at the top of my Arthuriana movie rank list and has gotten me to reread The Once and Future King
I have not watched the film yet!
I've been listening to the original cast recording on Spotify but, most importantly, I've read the book of the original Broadway production (1960 libretto) and I love it?? It's a delightful little read on its own, even without having watched the musical. (I want other people to read it please it's very funny I promise)
I guess the 1967 film script won't be identical to the libretto but I assume it's fairly similar.
The scene where Lancelot meets Arthur was hilarious it made me laugh out loud. Lancelot utter puzzlement ("Gone a-Maying, Your Majesty??"). Arthur's sudden self-consciousness.
And don't even get me started on the way Guenevere first treats Lancelot "have you jousted with humility lately"
I know!! Lancelot's grating self-righteousness coupled with his complete lack of self-awareness is so funny.
And I loved the gradual tone shift. It starts out so silly and the tragedy sneaks up on you — I thought Guinevere and Lancelot's affair might be played for laughs with an oblivious Arthur but no, it turns out he's fully aware of what's going on and he's forced to watch it unfold because he's powerless to stop it? and he loves them both and doesn't want any harm to come to them even as they betray him??
(He continues talking, looking from one to the other, feverishly — painfully) — Excuse me??
and King Pellinore is hilarious, he enters the scene wearing a monocle followed by a little mongrel named Horrid and talking like a character from a P. G. Wodehouse's novel. Extremely validating because when I read that chapter in Le Morte d'Arthur in which King Pellinore first makes an appearance my first question was "is he meant to be this funny?" and the answer from this script is a resounding YES.
I think I might perhaps watch the 1968 stage production first, merely because it's available for free on Youtube (at least in the UK).
I might try hunting for a free streaming link to the 1967 film, though I don't mind renting it if I can't find it.
#also the hawk motif got me ok#arthur asking merlyn to be turned into a hawk at the beginning#so he could spy on guinevere#telling merlyn he loved it when he turned him into a hawk that one time#arthur telling guinevere later that merlyn used to teach him lessons by turning him into different animals#and that he was meant to learn something from each one#but he didn't know what he was meant to learn from being a hawk#and then going 'oh no I got it!'#'when I was flying I could see there are no visible borders. why are we even making war to each other#over something that doesn't even exist. that's stupid. we are meant to live in peace'#'that was the lesson. I will create an era of peace'#and then his dream starts to crumble right before his eyes as lance and guinevere fall in love#and then him crying out to merlyn when guinevere was tied at the stake#asking merlyn to turn him into a hawk so he could fly away#like a lost child!! merlyn wasn't even there he hadn't been for years!!#I'm feeling so normal about it#sorry I just thought it was a good script!#regarding the songs – they didn't blow me away but I'm enjoying them!#they might grow on me still. probably more enjoyable when watching the film#I think my fave atm is Then You May Take Me to the Fair#“You'll pierce right through him?” “You'll open-wide him?”#GIRL why are you making it sound like that...#she's never been normal about lance not even for a minute not even at the start#asks#camelot (musical)

Scripting struggles
I'm changing my magical girl outfit and I have 5 I like and I cant pick one... they don't even match the magic I gave myself anyways idk why I'm like this...
Anyways I'm just taking them all 🤷🏾♀️ when I wear them in my DR I'll decide which ones I want to keep.
On that note I need to pick a wand/weapon too. The struggle starts again.
#shifting antis dni#I can probably guess which ones I'll get rid of cuz one of them have huge/long sleeves.#Imagining me fighting a witch or something and my sleeve snags on something and I die instantly GHAIF#I didnt script safety because I wanted stakes. But now Im really scared to shift lmao#<- I'll probably just script I cant die but can get injured#or that I have safety and cant die but I don't know that#And also maybe scripting that if i die I just go to my better cr#since I wanna make that my new cr and I dont want to come back here after death#idk yet though I'll just cross that bridge when I get there#shiftblr#dr scripting#scripted whole ass magical girl lore cant decide on an outfit. Dont even got a wand oh my priorities are. sigh.#they're something alright. not a good something but something nonetheless#anyways. back to pinterest happy shifting !#kitty.shifter

my problem with internet drama is that I CANT look away until it’s resolved which also means several hours later and fatigue from looking at everything 😭
NO BECAUSE I GET YOU I REALLY DO!! if i don't have all the information i'll literally die i'm so incredibly nosy
that being said i mean am i wrong???? am i really wrong???? we used to write monologues about sucking dick to drive authors off of this site. we used to be a proper country
#ask#at this point i feel detached bc what's he gonna do? crawl into my brain and manually change my mind?#he can say whatever he wants on here but at the end of the day i have the book. i know the script. i saw what i saw#i have no personal stakes in this. not really. so i just shout shit from the sidelines and clap whenever my mutuals say anything

From a storytelling standpoint, I think the animated Tarzan movie is technically perfect.
One of my favorite things they do seamlessly is set up Tarzan’s ability to mimic sounds (which is how he can reasonably communicate with the animals, which in turn sets up how quickly he’s able to pick up on human speech and understanding/communication), in addition to showing us he can imitate the sound of a gunshot.
At the beginning Jane sort of offhandedly says he associates the actual sound of a gunshot with the word ‘Clayton,’ but we can see how he comes to recognize that Clayton is the one responsible for that sound, and he comes to understand that that sound means danger, justly equating Clayton with said danger. It means the audience gets the environmental storytelling of hearing the gunshot -> knowing Clayton is responsible -> knowing something is wrong, simply by the sound. We as the audience know guns are dangerous, but because Tarzan is the audience’s proxy for understanding in the story, it’s almost new for us to feel the weight in the pit of our stomach realizing when Tarzan does at the end that something is very, very wrong when it’s heard far off into the jungle. Environmental storytelling is often more effective at evoking those feelings and giving exposition; it’s the epitome of “show, don’t tell.”
It comes to a head during the climax when he has the gun pointed at Clayton, who taunts him with “Go ahead. Be a man.” And Clayton laughs because he doesn’t think Tarzan could pull the trigger.
And then we hear the sound of a gunshot.
It’s Tarzan mimicking the sound (and metaphorically, showing how he could mimic the action). It tells Clayton (and the audience) that Tarzan very well could have pulled the trigger if he chose to. Tarzan is not incapable of killing— He killed Sabor in the beginning, and gorillas aren’t the only sentient creatures in the jungle.
Immediately after he intimidates Clayton, he destroys the gun and declares “Not a man like you.” The biggest overarching theme of the movie is the question “What does it mean to be a man?” It’s not just the idea of man in the masculine sense, but it’s the question what does it mean to be human?
It’s the fact Tarzan didn’t kill Clayton that shows us he IS human, capable of restraint, compassion, and mercy; it’s that which makes him different than a mindless animal AND different than the man who kills without regard to the life he’s taking.
#Tarzan#It’s just#Remember when Disney had cohesive hard-hitting high stakes stories told succinctly?#There are just so many bad movie scripts these days (and to be clear I do mean ALL types of movies not just animated ones)#movies#storytelling#Disney#animation

;; finished reading unraveled threads and honestly?
average ihaz segment has an anxiety level of over 80% is actually just statistical error. more more jump's feature the future segment georg which had shizuku and minori in the same room is an outlier adn should not have been counted.
#and marina.#she was just kinda put in a bigger issue she had no stakes in and was left to try and keep everyone vaguely on script.#<- i say vaguely because obviously they go off script but

So, recently i got back to one of the first fandoms i technically joined - Bendy and the ink machine. A thing i'd like share about me is that i'm a sucker for crossovers. So, i recently made an crossover au with the main fandoms being BATIM and SMG4. May i present you :
A Script At Stake
The base idea is that Mr. Puzzles is trying to take over a world full of cartoon characters, from every generation of animation, from every genre, every target demographic and from around the world. And the brave heros who are going to stop him are Henry and Bendy from BATIM and the SMG4 crew, but SMG4!Mario and SMG4!Luigi are aren't here and the ones to fill their absence are Mario and Luigi from the DIC cartoons. Other supporting characters are the main cats of the GLITCH shows and a whole bunch of characters from animated TV shows and web series.
Think of 'Who framed Roger Rabbit', but it's a action-horror-comedy based crossover story with a simge of mafia.
So, yaeh, that's about it for now. Anyways, here's bonus designs for Bendy and Henry -
Hope y'all enjoy!
