Feeling a bit under the weather today with a pinched nerve and strained muscle in my neck, I've opted to turn it into a cozy movie night. I'll be whipping up some homemade Chinese food, mixing a refreshing mocktail, and popping some popcorn for a delightful snack.

genuinely interesting to see your takes on who's more capable of flirting in public between Ed and Bart because my read on Bart specifically is very different! he doesn't strike me as the type to be shy much at all, and i can see him being very bold in a blunt kind of way? i see Bart's version of flirting in public (besides jokey stuff like you mentioned) as things like bluntly saying "You're hot.", kissing Ed on the mouth as a hello, etc. he strikes me as very direct and unbothered lol

the thing is i totally understand where ur coming from, because hello first i love it (lol) and i can totally see him being in thee mood (lol) and doing that. honestly i realise my interpretations r rarely set in stone and r more situational if that makes any sense ? like between the two of them, where they’re both generally quite bold ppl, the shyness is just in terms of relativity rather than it being an overall attribute. i can just see instances where bart can be shy when he’s flirted to (lol) just as much as ed could vice versa, i just feel ed seems very proud in his boldness so in in that sense bart would be shyer rather than just generally shy? like i explained in that post it’s mainly cause i strongly associate the trait of sneakiness (an attribute i’d generally assign to him) with a type of awareness that leads to shyness

this is a bit lazy of me to do but i think the best way i can show what i mean is how he acts in the last chapter of my Zetaflash fic A Night In where he gets shy at the end, and that’s just with the two of them so nothing public. But that’s what i mean by situational. Ed just as easily has loads of moments of shyness and overthinking throughout it too, they just both come about in very different ways. It’s funny because they’re both so similar and different at the same time it’s fun to overthink about lol

when i was nineteen and had just dropped out of school and was having A Time in general i spent a month in norway above the arctic circle where/when the sun never set.

i listened to this song on repeat for the entire month. sometimes when i listen to it again i think of that weighted weightless hovering of being completely lost, in the high white brine of the light and the air outside the ocean at three o clock in the morning.

i couldn't say what was happening; only that this song seemed to speak to it. it's usually only in retrospect we can articulate what was happening, isn't it?

of course i liked it so much there that in a decade i would move back to scandinavia and find the love of my life among other things.

but of course, you never know that kind of thing at the time.

you just have to stay open to the possibility, i guess.

Soo I just finished rereading A Night In and bro it had me giggling, kicking my feet, pouting, frowning and EXAPSERATING over those two lovesick homos who are SO CUTE but SO DENSE

Ugh the tension and the backstories and the conflicting feelings on both sides, I just love gobbling it all up like there's no tomorrow

Take your time with updating of course, you've got enough on your plate as it is with other fics begging your attention (why are they all so good😭), but just know that we haven't forgotten your stories🫶

i really appreciate being able to read this, thank you so much for your kindness <33 especially since recently ive been stuck in a bit of a rut mentally regarding my writing

a night in being my first posted work, ofcourse whenever i reread it there’s so much i want to edit (just in terms of like beta reading rather than content wise) but considering i never planned for it to have as much “depth” as it ended up having and being able to read how it’s being interpreted by yall, it’s really the biggest motivation to just keep going. of course i want all the stories to see their (hopefully somewhat satisfying 😹) end, especially as an avid fic reader who relates to how hair-pullingly frustrating it feels to not get that, but the whole process really is much harder than expected especially since life decided to throw me a bunch of curveballs throughout my writing time (like i really sympathise now with those insane author notes that some update with like LOL)

point is, thank u so much for (re)reading and for ur support, i truly mean it every time because i could post a hundred chapters but they wouldn’t have half the life and depth they have if it weren’t for all the feedback and commentary that i get from y’all which truly mean the world to me <3
