Amazon annihilates Alexa privacy settings, turns on continuous, nonconsensual audio uploading
Tumblr media
I'm on a 20+ city book tour for my new novel PICKS AND SHOVELS. Catch me in SAN DIEGO at MYSTERIOUS GALAXY on Mar 24, and in CHICAGO with PETER SAGAL on Apr 2. More tour dates here.
Tumblr media
Even by Amazon standards, this is extraordinarily sleazy: starting March 28, each Amazon Echo device will cease processing audio on-device and instead upload all the audio it captures to Amazon's cloud for processing, even if you have previously opted out of cloud-based processing:
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/03/everything-you-say-to-your-echo-will-be-sent-to-amazon-starting-on-march-28/
It's easy to flap your hands at this bit of thievery and say, "surveillance capitalists gonna surveillance capitalism," which would confine this fuckery to the realm of ideology (that is, "Amazon is ripping you off because they have bad ideas"). But that would be wrong. What's going on here is a material phenomenon, grounded in specific policy choices and by unpacking the material basis for this absolutely unforgivable move, we can understand how we got here – and where we should go next.
Start with Amazon's excuse for destroying your privacy: they want to do AI processing on the audio Alexa captures, and that is too computationally intensive for on-device processing. But that only raises another question: why does Amazon want to do this AI processing, even for customers who are happy with their Echo as-is, at the risk of infuriating and alienating millions of customers?
For Big Tech companies, AI is part of a "growth story" – a narrative about how these companies that have already saturated their markets will still continue to grow. It's hard to overstate how dominant Amazon is: they are the leading cloud provider, the most important retailer, and the majority of US households already subscribe to Prime. This may sound like a good place to be, but for Amazon, it's actually very dangerous.
Amazon has a sky-high price/earnings ratio – about triple the ratio of other retailers, like Target. That scorching P/E ratio reflects a belief by investors that Amazon will continue growing. Companies with very high p/e ratios have an unbeatable advantage relative to mature competitors – they can buy things with their stock, rather than paying cash for them. If Amazon wants to hire a key person, or acquire a key company, it can pad its offer with its extremely high-value, growing stock. Being able to buy things with stock instead of money is a powerful advantage, because money is scarce and exogenous (Amazon must acquire money from someone else, like a customer), while new Amazon stock can be conjured into existence by typing zeroes into a spreadsheet:
https://pluralistic.net/2025/03/06/privacy-last/#exceptionally-american
But the downside here is that every growth stock eventually stops growing. For Amazon to double its US Prime subscriber base, it will have to establish a breeding program to produce tens of millions of new Americans, raising them to maturity, getting them gainful employment, and then getting them to sign up for Prime. Almost by definition, a dominant firm ceases to be a growing firm, and lives with the constant threat of a stock revaluation as investors belief in future growth crumbles and they punch the "sell" button, hoping to liquidate their now-overvalued stock ahead of everyone else.
For Big Tech companies, a growth story isn't an ideological commitment to cancer-like continuous expansion. It's a practical, material phenomenon, driven by the need to maintain investor confidence that there are still worlds for the company to conquer.
That's where "AI" comes in. The hype around AI serves an important material need for tech companies. By lumping an incoherent set of poorly understood technologies together into a hot buzzword, tech companies can bamboozle investors into thinking that there's plenty of growth in their future.
OK, so that's the material need that this asshole tactic satisfies. Next, let's look at the technical dimension of this rug-pull.
How is it possible for Amazon to modify your Echo after you bought it? After all, you own your Echo. It is your property. Every first year law student learns this 18th century definition of property, from Sir William Blackstone:
That sole and despotic dominion which one man claims and exercises over the external things of the world, in total exclusion of the right of any other individual in the universe.
If the Echo is your property, how come Amazon gets to break it? Because we passed a law that lets them. Section 1201 of 1998's Digital Millennium Copyright Act makes it a felony to "bypass an access control" for a copyrighted work:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/05/24/record-scratch/#autoenshittification
That means that once Amazon reaches over the air to stir up the guts of your Echo, no one is allowed to give you a tool that will let you get inside your Echo and change the software back. Sure, it's your property, but exercising sole and despotic dominion over it requires breaking the digital lock that controls access to the firmware, and that's a felony punishable by a five-year prison sentence and a $500,000 fine for a first offense.
The Echo is an internet-connected device that treats its owner as an adversary and is designed to facilitate over-the-air updates by the manufacturer that are adverse to the interests of the owner. Giving a manufacturer the power to downgrade a device after you've bought it, in a way you can't roll back or defend against is an invitation to run the playbook of the Darth Vader MBA, in which the manufacturer replies to your outraged squawks with "I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further":
https://pluralistic.net/2023/10/26/hit-with-a-brick/#graceful-failure
The ability to remotely, unilaterally alter how a device or service works is called "twiddling" and it is a key factor in enshittification. By "twiddling" the knobs and dials that control the prices, costs, search rankings, recommendations, and core features of products and services, tech firms can play a high-speed shell-game that shifts value away from customers and suppliers and toward the firm and its executives:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/02/19/twiddler/
But how can this be legal? You bought an Echo and explicitly went into its settings to disable remote monitoring of the sounds in your home, and now Amazon – without your permission, against your express wishes – is going to start sending recordings from inside your house to its offices. Isn't that against the law?
Well, you'd think so, but US consumer privacy law is unbelievably backwards. Congress hasn't passed a consumer privacy law since 1988, when the Video Privacy Protection Act banned video store clerks from disclosing which VHS cassettes you brought home. That is the last technological privacy threat that Congress has given any consideration to:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/12/06/privacy-first/#but-not-just-privacy
This privacy vacuum has been filled up with surveillance on an unimaginable scale. Scumbag data-brokers you've never heard of openly boast about having dossiers on 91% of adult internet users, detailing who we are, what we watch, what we read, who we live with, who we follow on social media, what we buy online and offline, where we buy, when we buy, and why we buy:
https://gizmodo.com/data-broker-brags-about-having-highly-detailed-personal-information-on-nearly-all-internet-users-2000575762
To a first approximation, every kind of privacy violation is legal, because the concentrated commercial surveillance industry spends millions lobbying against privacy laws, and those millions are a bargain, because they make billions off the data they harvest with impunity.
Regulatory capture is a function of monopoly. Highly concentrated sectors don't need to engage in "wasteful competition," which leaves them with gigantic profits to spend on lobbying, which is extraordinarily effective, because a sector that is dominated by a handful of firms can easily arrive at a common negotiating position and speak with one voice to the government:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/06/05/regulatory-capture/
Starting with the Carter administration, and accelerating through every subsequent administration except Biden's, America has adopted an explicitly pro-monopoly policy, called the "consumer welfare" antitrust theory. 40 years later, our economy is riddled with monopolies:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/01/17/monopolies-produce-billionaires/#inequality-corruption-climate-poverty-sweatshops
Every part of this Echo privacy massacre is downstream of that policy choice: "growth stock" narratives about AI, twiddling, DMCA 1201, the Darth Vader MBA, the end of legal privacy protections. These are material things, not ideological ones. They exist to make a very, very small number of people very, very rich.
Your Echo is your property, you paid for it. You paid for the product and you are still the product:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/11/14/luxury-surveillance/#liar-liar
Now, Amazon says that the recordings your Echo will send to its data-centers will be deleted as soon as it's been processed by the AI servers. Amazon's made these claims before, and they were lies. Amazon eventually had to admit that its employees and a menagerie of overseas contractors were secretly given millions of recordings to listen to and make notes on:
https://archive.is/TD90k
And sometimes, Amazon just sent these recordings to random people on the internet:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2018/12/20/amazon-alexa-user-receives-audio-recordings-stranger-through-human-error/
Fool me once, etc. I will bet you a testicle* that Amazon will eventually have to admit that the recordings it harvests to feed its AI are also being retained and listened to by employees, contractors, and, possibly, randos on the internet.

───────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────────
In your career, you only had three rules.
Never get personal at work.
Never show your emotions.
Never lose your temper in front of clients.
And you were about to break two of them right now.
The Seoul Tech Summit was the kind of event that could change your career—or ruin it. Hundreds of CEOs, investors, and innovators packed the sleek glass convention hall. The hum of conversation mixed with the sharp click of heels on polished floors, and the buzz of gadgets being demoed. The scent of expensive suits and the cool sharpness of designer colognes filled the air.
But for you, it was just another battleground.
NovaTech had recently made waves with an AI-driven healthcare app, and you were here to show the world you were only getting started. You weren’t interested in the flashy panels or the eager investors. You were only here to build something real, something that mattered.
Midway through your third glass of overpriced sparkling water, someone caught your attention.
Kim Hongjoong.
You didn’t need the introduction. The buzz around the room made sure that no one ever forgot his face. He was younger than most of the tech giants You were used to seeing, with the kind of good looks that made photographers swoon. His jaw was sharp, eyes dark but calculating. He exuded that cocky, effortless charisma that came naturally when your company was worth billions. His presence seemed to fill the room like smoke, dangerous and inescapable.
He approached your table with that smile—the one that always looked like he knew something you didn’t. And it made your stomach tighten. Not in admiration, but in the challenge it presented. You weren’t going to be another notch on his belt, another “up-and-coming” company he could buy out and brand as his own.
You didn’t even look up when he sat across from you, just set down the folder he’d been holding with a soft thud.
“We should talk,” he said, his voice smooth like velvet, the kind that made you feel like he’d won before he even started.
You didn’t give him the satisfaction of acknowledging him immediately. You kept your eyes on the small holographic display of NovaTech’s upcoming product—your flagship, and your pride and joy.
“You know, I’ve been hearing a lot of rumors about you,” you said, finally glancing up. His face hadn’t shifted, still that same confident, unfazed expression. You didn’t like how easily he could remain unruffled.
He leaned back in his chair, like he was settling in for a long conversation. “I’m sure you have.”
“You’re quite the… businessman,” You said with a thin smile. “I hear Cortex is already planning on buying out half the competition in the next year.”
His eyes flickered, just for a moment, but his smile didn’t waver. “I don’t buy out competition, Y/n. I partner with them. It’s far more profitable.”
You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms. “I’m not interested in being a partner. I don’t need someone to hold my hand while I create something meaningful.”
“I don’t see it as holding your hand,” he said, voice lowering just a fraction. “I see it as giving you the resources to make your vision a reality.”
You wanted to snap back at him, to tell him you didn’t need Cortex’s resources, that you could make NovaTech a household name on your own. But there was something in his eyes that made me hesitate. A quiet certainty that suggested he wasn’t just offering to buy you out, but that he genuinely thought you needed his help.
But you weren’t here to get by on handouts. You weren’t going to let him make you feel small.
“So, what? You came all the way here just to hand me a proposal?” You kept your voice cool, trying to hide the twinge of frustration threatening to slip out.
That’s not my offer,” he said. “I’m proposing a partnership. Cortex has the scale, the infrastructure—”
“And I have the ideas,” You cut in, leveling your gaze at him. “The ones you’ve been ‘coincidentally’ mirroring in your last two product launches?”
He didn’t flinch. “Great minds think alike.”
“No,” You said coolly. “Lazy minds steal from better ones.”
“You think I’m just going to sit here and let you convince me to throw everything I’ve worked for into the hands of a corporate giant?” You asked, your voice colder now. You could feel your pulse quickening, anger bubbling under your skin.
He didn’t flinch. “I think you’re smart enough to recognize opportunity when it’s in front of you.”
You almost laughed. “You don’t know anything about me, Hongjoong. You just know how to turn every situation into a business deal.”
“And you know how to turn every situation into a battlefield,” he countered, leaning forward slightly, his eyes locked onto mine. There was something dangerous there—an undercurrent of challenge, like he was daring me to admit the truth.
Your chest tightened. You weren’t repared for this—his quiet intensity, the way he could get under your skin without even trying.
“I’m not interested in being your next conquest,” You said, your voice sharp.
“I’m not trying to conquer you,” he said, his voice steady, yet something in the way he said it made my heart skip a beat. “I’m trying to build with you.”
Something shifted in that moment. You don’t know if it was the confidence in his words or the raw honesty that seemed to slip out unbidden, but you felt it. A small shift. The first crack in the wall you had so carefully built around myself.
He was a threat. But you couldn’t deny that there was something in the way he spoke that made you wonder if maybe—just maybe—he wasn’t the enemy you had built him up to be.
The thought lingered for a moment longer than you cared to admit.
You didn’t take the folder. You didn’t say anything more. Instead, you stood up, lifting your glass of sparkling water like it was the weapon of your choice, and walked to the edge of the conference room, where the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a breathtaking view of Seoul’s skyline. The city looked untouchable from up here, so far beyond the petty squabbles of tech moguls and startups.
But maybe that was the problem.
You could feel Hongjoong’s eyes on you as you stood there, the noise of the summit still buzzing around us. You could almost hear the gears in his head turning—he was calculating something, trying to figure you out, just like you were.
“You’re not going to make it easy for me, are you?” he asked, his voice carrying just enough humor to tell me he wasn’t backing down.
You didn’t turn to face him. “You didn’t come here for an easy ride. If you want someone to roll over and hand over their ideas, you’ve got the wrong person.”
He was quiet for a beat, and you finally glanced back at him. A small, knowing smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. He didn’t look like he was about to leave. He looked… pleased.
“Yeah,” he said softly. “I think that’s why I’m here.”
You narrowed your eyes, trying to keep your composure. “What exactly is that supposed to mean?”
“Means I like a challenge,” he replied, his tone smooth as silk. “And I think you’re worth it.”
You clenched your jaw. The nerve of him. He was infuriating. Everything about him screamed privilege and control, and yet, there was something that kept pulling you in, something that made you wonder if he wasn’t just another slick businessman trying to manipulate you.
But you refused to admit that you were intrigued. You couldn’t afford to be.
“Save the flattery, Hongjoong,” you said, turning back toward the skyline. “I’m not interested in your games.”
“I’m not playing games,” he said, standing up and walking closer, his footsteps light but purposeful. “I’m offering you an opportunity. An opportunity for both of us to build something bigger than what we could do on our own. Isn’t that what this is all about?”
You felt a spike of irritation. “I don’t need your opportunity.”
He was standing right behind you now, just close enough that you could feel his presence without him actually touching you. Your pulse quickened despite your best efforts to remain unaffected.
“Funny,” he said, his voice low. “You’re the one who came here to talk business. You’re the one who’s been gunning for the top spot for years. But now that someone offers you the chance to make it happen, you’d rather go it alone.”
“I’m not desperate,” you shot back, my voice a little sharper than you intended. “I’ve built my company from the ground up without anyone’s help.”
“I know,” he said, the tone of admiration in his voice making you feel unexpectedly exposed. “But you don’t have to do it all alone. You don’t have to fight every battle by yourself.”
You felt a lump form in your throat at his words. You weren’t used to letting anyone close, certainly not anyone who could undermine you so easily. But there was something in his voice—a genuine understanding, maybe—that made you hesitate.
And then, just like that, the moment was gone. Hongjoong took a step back, and you could finally breathe again, though your chest still felt tight.
“You’ll think about it,” he said casually, like he wasn’t leaving until you did.
You didn’t respond immediately. Instead, you focused on the skyline again, trying to regain your composure. You hated how he’d gotten under your skin so easily, hated how much you were thinking about him already.
“You’re stubborn,” he added, as if reading your thoughts. “I’ll give you that.”
“I don’t need you to give me anything,” you said coolly, finally turning to face him fully.
Hongjoong smiled, the same confident, cocky smile that had started it all. “We’ll see about that.”
───────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────────
The following weeks passed in a blur of conference calls, strategy meetings, and press conferences. But no matter how much you buried yourself in the work, your thoughts kept circling back to Hongjoong. To his challenge, to his words, to the way he seemed to understand you in a way no one else did.
You tried to push him out of your mind. You even threw yourself into a new project—one that you knew would help NovaTech leap ahead in the AI space, just to prove that you didn’t need a partnership. But no matter how hard you tried, you you couldn't escape the fact that Hongjoong was everywhere. His company’s launches, his social media, even the headlines about his “disruptive” new product—it all felt like a constant reminder of the one thing you didn’t want to admit.
You were drawn to him.
But you couldn’t let him know that. Not yet. Not until you could figure out what game you were really playing.
Then came the leak.
It wasn’t a surprise that the breach had happened. In the world we lived in, data was as valuable as gold, and just as easy to steal. But the timing was disastrous. The confidential code from both NovaTech and Cortex had been released to the public, and suddenly, everything you’ve worked for felt up for grabs. Investors were skittish. Consumers were confused. And our internal teams were scrambling to contain the fallout.
Hongjoong and you were forced into a partnership of sorts—at least on the surface. You began meeting daily, trying to trace the leak, patch up security flaws, and salvage your reputations before this could become a full-blown scandal.
You hated every second of it. And yet, you couldn’t help but be impressed by the way Hongjoong handled it. He wasn’t just the golden boy; he was smart. Strategic. Calculating. It was no wonder his company had grown so rapidly. He wasn’t just a businessman. He was a force.
The nights started blurring together. Long hours at the office. Even longer hours on video calls, trying to get ahead of the damage. But somehow, through it all, you found yourself slipping into a rhythm with him—unexpectedly in sync. And though you didn’t talk about it, there were moments. Small ones. The kind where you caught him glancing at you for a second too long. Or when you finished each other’s sentences, both your thoughts moving faster than your words could keep up.
And just when you thought you couldn’t take it anymore, he showed up at your office one no night, unannounced, with two cups of coffee.
“You look like you haven’t slept in days,” he said, setting one cup down on your desk and looking at you with something akin to concern.
You shot him a glare. “It’s called working.”
He didn’t back down. “We’re in this together, Y/n. We always have been.”
And for a moment, you let the words settle. You let yourself wonder if it was true. If maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t the enemy you had thought him to be.
He wasn’t the kind of person to simply check in. He was there—always—hovering around in the periphery of your life, offering support where it was needed and pushing forward relentlessly. And no matter how much you told yourself that he was still the enemy, still the corporate shark circling NovaTech for a way in, you couldn’t help but notice the way he showed up. How he always had your back in the most unexpected ways.
But soon, it all came crashing down.
───────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────────
It was the night of the Tech Gala—the grand event that both NovaTech and Cortex were headlining. After weeks of crisis management, everyone needed this gala to be perfect. The media, the investors, the analysts—all of them were watching. This was supposed to be the night where we showed the world that we were still in control, that we could handle the storm. But as soon as you walked into the event, you felt the weight of the pressure pressing down on you.
You hadn’t seen Hongjoong all night. And honestly, you hadn’t expected to. Not after the frantic energy of the past few days, where bothe your focuses had been on nothing but damage control.
But when you stepped onto the stage for the evening’s presentation, there he was, standing near the back of the room. His gaze locked onto yours from across the crowded floor, and for a moment, the noise, the flashing cameras, everything seemed to fade away. The connection was instant—impossible to ignore. It was the way his dark eyes fixed on you, intense and unwavering.
You swallowed hard, forcing myself to focus. You couldn’t afford to get distracted—not tonight.
But you couldn’t help it.
As you spoke to the crowd, explaining the new direction for NovaTech, your thoughts kept wandering back to Hongjoong. You were painfully aware of his presence, like a shadow that followed you wherever you went. And when you glanced back over my shoulder after the presentation, there he was, still watching. His expression was unreadable, but there was something in the way he looked at you — something deep that made your heart race.
The gala continued long into the evening, and as the night wore on, you found yourself mingling with investors, team members, and other industry leaders. But every time you passed through the crowd, your gaze inevitably flickered to Hongjoong. He wasn’t far, but he was always keeping his distance. Observing.
Finally, as the clock struck midnight, and the energy in the room started to shift, you spotted him again, this time standing near a secluded balcony, looking out over the city. The cool night air brushed against my skin, and without even thinking, you found yourself walking toward him.
When he saw you approaching, he didn’t smile. He didn’t even move. He simply waited.
“Having a quiet moment?” you asked, your voice a little more biting than you’d intended.
He turned toward you, eyes locking onto yours with that unnerving intensity. “Just getting some air. The spotlight’s never been my thing.”
You glanced around at the crowd below, feeling the weight of the attention. “You and me both,” you muttered, leaning against the balcony railing beside him.
For a moment, neither of you spoke, the city’s hum below you filling the silence. You could feel the tension, thick and palpable. But tonight, there was something different in the air. It wasn’t the usual rivalry. There was an understanding—an unspoken agreement that the past few weeks had altered something fundamental between you. And yet, you still wasn’t sure what it was.
“Do you think we’re ever going to be able to fix this mess?” you asked, not looking at him, your voice softening despite yourself .
“We will,” he said, his tone surprisingly calm. “We always do.”
You finally turned to look at him. His jaw was tight, his eyes dark with determination, but there was something else there. It wasn’t just business anymore. It wasn’t just the endless string of meetings and calls. There was an earnestness in his gaze, like he wasn’t just trying to make things work for the sake of the companies anymore.
It was personal.
“I think… I think we’ve already started something. Whether we like it or not.” he said quietly.
You weren’t sure what he meant by that, but the weight of his words hung in the air. For a moment, you weresilent, contemplating the implications of what he was saying.
“Hongjoong…” you started, but you weren’t sure how to continue. What were you supposed to say? That you couldn’t stop thinking about him? That you hated how much you wanted this to work?
Before you could find the words, he stepped closer.
His presence enveloped you, his warmth undeniable as he stood inches away, the faint scent of his cologne almost intoxicating. His eyes softened just a fraction. And for the first time in a long time, you felt the breath leave your lungs, the air thick with something other than competition.
“Maybe it’s time we stopped pretending we’re just business partners,” he murmured, his voice low, intimate.
And that was it. The walls I had spent so long building up shattered in that instant, crumbling beneath the weight of his gaze. All the tension, all the anger, all the denial—it all melted away.
Without thinking, you reached for him, your hand brushing against his arm. It wasn’t a grand confession. It wasn’t a dramatic moment. But it felt like the world had narrowed down to just the two of you standing on that balcony, with the city lights twinkling below you.
“I’m scared,” you whispered.
He reached up, his hand gently cupping your cheek, his thumb grazing your skin with the kind of tenderness you hadn’t expected from him. “I know. Me too.”
And then, without another word, he leaned in.
The kiss was slow, almost hesitant at first. But it didn’t take long before the floodgates opened, and the kiss deepened, taking you both by surprise. The emotions you had buried for so long rushed to the surface—frustration, fear, and the undeniable pull between you two.
For the first time in weeks, you weren’t worried about the next crisis. You weren’t thinking about Cortex or NovaTech or any of the lies you had told yourself. You were just here, in this moment, with him.
When you finally pulled away, breathless, Hongjoong’s smile was softer than you had ever seen it. “I think we might have just started something even bigger than what we planned.”
You couldn’t help but smile back, feeling a strange sense of peace wash over you.
“Maybe,” you said, my voice barely above a whisper. “But I think we can handle it.”
And for once in your whole entire career, you were glad that you broke all three rules.

If the Chromatic Crew had jobs in the Omega Timeline, what would they be?
I feel like Delta would work as some sort of mechanic, given his passion for technology and engineering. Perhaps he specializes in robotics, cybernetics, and biomechanical enhancements—particularly for monsters, hybrids, or even humans with prosthetics.
He could design and maintain cybernetic limbs or assistive technology for those who need mechanical augmentations.
Given that Omega Chara kinda cut him half, if his body still struggles to function in some way due to that despite its healing, and potential magical instability, he might experiment with integrating technology into his own recovery and mobility—like reinforced plating, internal stabilizers, or even minor cybernetic enhancements.
He might build AI-driven mechanical assistants to help him in the workshop, reducing the strain of overworking himself.
If the Omega Timeline likely has threats or conflicts, Delta could also potentially work as a weapon specialist, designing high-tech weapons, armor, and battle gear.
I think he’d likely refuse to create purely offensive weapons, instead focusing on defensive gear, shields, and non-lethal weaponry to prevent unnecessary deaths.
(And this is likely something Core agrees with if they allow him to build weapons in the first place. If Delta does make any offensive weapons, they’re likely hidden somewhere he deems safe.)
If the Omega Timeline has any advanced vehicles or transport systems, Delta would absolutely be involved in repairing, modifying, and upgrading them.
He might build experimental hovercrafts, motorcycles, or personal flight devices. I also think Delta is likely to take on side projects, where he builds things just because he can—whether it’s helpful inventions, weird gadgets, or impractical but cool devices.
He might experiment with combining magic and machinery, creating hybrid tech that blends the best of both worlds.
Given that Beta (his human half) grew up on the Surface and Sans grew up in the Underground, he might take inspiration from both human and monster engineering, leading to designs that take from both worlds.
Rather than working under a formal organization, i think Delta is more likely to be a self-taught, independent mechanic who runs his own private workshop or garage.
He might barter services instead of working for money, fixing things in exchange for food, materials, or favors.
Especially if he barters with Core and any members of the potential Council—ensuring their technology, infrastructure, and security remain secure and functional in exchange for housing where he either doesn’t have to pay rent/bills, or the Council covers that for him.
His workspace could be cluttered but functional, filled with half-finished projects, custom tools, and notes scribbled everywhere. He would probably refuse to take jobs from people he doesn’t trust, especially if he suspects they would use his work for harmful purposes.
Especially if we take into account the headcanon of how Killer used any weapons of Delta’s to fuel negativity for Nightmare and help the corruption expand his “organization.”
Color, however, I feel would be unable to work a traditional full time job, at least not for a long time.
And although Delta likely to insist on being the one to take care of everything and everyone in their household, willing to take on extra work if he has to, Color probably worries a lot about what would happen if he doesn’t “get better” and start “pulling his weight.”
Start behaving..like an “adult.” Again.
Will Delta leave him? Will he hate him and get mad at him, throw them out on the streets one day, because he realized how much of a drain Color has been on his life? The burden on his shoulders? Will Beta realize how pathetic he is, nothing worth looking up to? Will Sans look at Color, and be glad he didn’t make the wrong choices and end up like Color?
So at first—I think his best options would be remote work and self employment/commissions.
He could do writing like blogs, short stories, and transcription work. Data entry if he can manage long screen time, and even email-based customer service, not phone-based.
He could even sell any arts, crafts, or music online he makes—and before going on to paid work, he could even try out volunteering in an attempt to refamiliarize with being around people again. (Such as volunteering at the hospital with the children.)
And then eventually a part-time job with flexible hours, and it has to be low-stress, accommodating, and allow for breaks to prevent burnout, breakdowns, and physical collapses from Color.
Like working as a library assistant or a museum guide or doing archival work.
When he starts getting antsy about being trapped in the Omega Timeline, however, I do think he’d definitely be willing to push himself past his limits in regards to work if he views it as a means out of the Omega Timeline.
Perseverance definitely would make it near impossible to stop if it agrees with or shares Color’s desires to get out, or simply is particularly very ambitious on their job or helping Color, regardless of the strain or injury it could cause their shared body.
For Killer, at first I was considering something to do with the death care industry—like an embalmer or a mortician—but then I remembered how he tends to be towards the dead.
He doesn’t really show much respect or care for the dead, such as taking the souls of his victims or studying their dead bodies for his own purposes and ends without consent—and he’s trying to get better in this ending.
Keeping him around and trusting him to handle the Omega Timeline’s dead, tempting him, reminding him of what he’s been surrounded by for a long time now.
What he’s yearned for, what he’s done. Especially if he ever comes across any familiar faces or magical “signatures”…i doubt it’d be good.
So i definitely think he’d do something to do with animals. He loves animals, relates most to them, definitely has a lot more respect and care for them then he does for most other living beings.
He could potentially get a full or part time job in Ccino’s Cafe, working primarily with the animals—cats and dogs.
Especially since Ccino not only knows Killer through their shared connections with Nightmare, but Ccino also very likely has rapport with both Color and Epic.
And speaking of Ccino’s cafe and Epic, there’s Epic’s good pal, Cross.
Now I was a little stuck on potential jobs for both Cross and Epic, outside of the obvious ones—something science related for Epic, something Royal Guard or militaristic-like for Cross.
But I had a feeling that military work may not actually be as good mental health wise for Cross as it seemed, despite its familiarity, and I also felt that Epic had more potential options I just couldn’t see yet.
So I asked a friend of mine her opinions and thoughts on the matter, since she’s more familiar with the characters’ canon than I am at this moment, so I’ll paraphrase what they (@/zuzuelectricbugaloo) and down below:
Epic might take on a part-time role as a doctor since his ability to see Codes would be useful for treating cases where regular magic isn’t effective.
Additionally, he could run a daycare in the Omega Timeline, given his experience babysitting many kids like Palette, Goth/Vidal, Paperjam, and Gradient, and his genuine enjoyment of it.
As for Cross, he might initially consider a military-related job since he’s skilled in that area and likes feeling helpful. However, given the war-like trauma and PTSD he experienced in XTale/Underverse, it wouldn’t be the best choice for him.
He enjoys art and baking, so working part-time at a café could be a good fit. However, considering his past actions in Underverse—such as destroying AUs or causing harm, even indirectly—many Omega Timeline residents might not welcome him.
Because of this, he might prefer working elsewhere, like at Ccino’s café, where he has a good relationship with both Ccino and Epic. There, he could use his artistic side in baking and making drinks or even help with the animals. This setup would allow him to feel productive without overwhelming anxiety or the pressure of feeling like he’s doing everything wrong.

Tumblr media
In an era where technology and creativity intertwine, AI design is revolutionizing the way we conceptualize and create across various industries. From the runway to retail, 3D fashion design is pushing boundaries, enabling designers to craft intricate garments with unparalleled precision. Likewise, 3D product design is transforming everything from gadgets to furniture, allowing for rapid prototyping and innovation. As we explore these exciting advancements, platforms like Agartha.ai are leading the charge in harnessing artificial intelligence to streamline the design process and inspire new ideas.
AI design
Artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized numerous industries, and the realm of design is no exception. By leveraging the power of machine learning and advanced algorithms, AI is transforming the way designers create, innovate, and deliver their products. AI-driven tools enable designers to harness vast amounts of data, allowing for more informed decision-making and streamlined workflows.
In the context of graphic design, AI can assist artists in generating ideas, creating unique visuals, and even automating repetitive tasks. For instance, programs powered by AI design can analyze trends and consumer preferences, producing designs that resonate with target audiences more effectively than traditional methods. This shift not only enhances creativity but also enables designers to focus on strategic thinking and ideation.

How AI is Changing the Game in Digital Advertising
The digital advertising world is going through a radical change, which is mostly caused by the appearance and hasty expansion of AI. The situation has changed significantly, and now the AI has come to the scene with an angle of laser precision, personalisation, and the saving of time and resources on an unprecedented scale. For those digital marketing agencies that are like Pune-based First DigiAdd, the embrace of AI is not simply a plus, but it is a requirement if they want to remain in the market and deliver the best services.
The AI Advantage: Beyond Traditional Targeting
The real essence of the AI revolution lies in the fact that one can not even come close to matching it in the comprehensiveness of the datasets it can analyse and in the speed at which it does so. This feature grants advertisers a very high level of comprehension of customer behavior, the capability to foresee fads and the automation of tasks that are not simple, thus leading to:
Hyper-Personalisation: Using AI algorithms, user data can be broken down into categories like browsing history, purchase patterns, demographics, and interests to generate highly customised advertising content.
The possibility can be an ad for a new gadget that is relevant to a composed list of products that will be displayed just at the moment when the user is on the site researching those products, or an e-mail campaign that changes its content dynamically based on the user's interaction. The brand new AI-powered personalisation capability emphatically amplifies the level of involvement and influences the changing customer behaviour.
Predictive Analytics: AI doesn't just react; it anticipates. By analysing historical data, AI can predict the likely success of an ad campaign before it even launches, optimising elements like message, design, format, device, platform, and even the optimal time of display. This minimises wasted ad spend and maximises ROI.
Real-time Optimisation: AI-powered platforms can continuously monitor campaign performance and make real-time adjustments. This includes optimising bidding strategies in programmatic advertising, refining targeting parameters, and even dynamically adjusting ad creatives based on audience response. This agility ensures campaigns are always performing at their peak.
Automated Content Creation & Optimisation: Generative AI tools are now capable of crafting compelling ad copy, social media posts, and even video scripts. This not only speeds up content production but also allows for rapid A/B testing of various creative iterations, identifying what resonates best with different audience segments.
AEO and GEO: The New Frontiers of AI-Driven Optimisation
Two critical areas where AI is truly "changing the game" are Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).
Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO): As users increasingly turn to AI-driven platforms like Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity AI for direct answers, AEO becomes paramount. Unlike traditional SEO, which focuses on ranking links, AEO aims to position your content as the direct answer to user queries. This involves:
Structured Data (Schema Markup): Implementing schema markup helps AI engines understand and interpret your content, making it easier for them to extract precise answers and display them in featured snippets or AI-generated responses.
Direct, Concise Answers: Crafting content that directly addresses specific questions, often in FAQ formats or with clear, bite-sized summaries, is crucial for AEO. This caters to the explicit intent behind user queries, such as "what is" or "how-to."
Authority Building: Establishing your brand as an authoritative source on relevant topics through high-quality, well-researched content increases the likelihood of your information being chosen by answer engines.
For a company like First DigiAdd, specialising in AEO means ensuring clients' content not only ranks but also answers, directly and efficiently, for users in Pune and beyond.
Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO): GEO takes AI optimisation a step further by tailoring content specifically for generative AI platforms. This means:
AI-Friendly Formatting: Structuring content with clear headings, bullet points, and short paragraphs helps AI models easily parse and utilise the information.
Conversational Tone: As AI models become more conversational, content that mimics natural language and directly addresses user intent performs better.
Cited Sources and Statistics: AI values factual, credible information. Incorporating reliable sources and quantitative data enhances the trustworthiness of your content in the eyes of AI.
Localised Content for AI: GEO helps optimise content for local search, ensuring businesses are visible in Google's local pack, maps, and AI-driven queries related to specific regions. For businesses in Kharadi, Pune, using geographic-specific keywords and optimising Google Business Profiles becomes even more critical with GEO.
Conclusion
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic idea; it’s the present and future of digital advertising. It enables smarter decisions, precise targeting, and significantly improved results.
If you're a local business in Kharadi, Pune (411014), or looking to scale with smarter digital strategies, now is the time to embrace AI-powered marketing. First DigiAdd, known for delivering the best digital marketing services, can help you tap into AI to future-proof your advertising.

12 Ways the System is Limiting Your Potential—and How to Fight Backv
🚨 Ever feel like the world is set up to keep you down? You're not imagining it. We asked artificial intelligence what a government might do if it wanted to control its citizens, and the response was an eerie reflection of our modern-day society. Here are 12 ways the system might limit your potential—and more importantly, how you can fight back. 👊
1. Education That Kills Creativity 🎨
Our education system isn’t designed to create innovators; it’s designed to create followers. With a focus on memorization and conformity, students are taught to follow instructions rather than think critically. But the truth is, creativity and critical thinking are essential for personal growth. The solution? Encourage yourself and others to question the norm and explore creative outlets. 🧑‍🎨
2. Normalized Debt 🚨
Debt has become a way of life for many, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The AI suggests that normalizing debt is a way to keep people financially constrained, unable to take risks or invest in their personal growth. Want to break free? Start by reevaluating your financial habits, cutting unnecessary expenses, and paying down debt aggressively. Financial freedom leads to personal freedom. 💸
3. Fear-Based Messaging 🧠
Fear is a tactic governments have used for decades to keep people from making bold moves. Whether it’s fear of terrorism, economic collapse, or health crises, keeping the population in a constant state of fear ensures compliance. To rise above, recognize when fear is being used as a control tactic and learn to push through it. True personal growth happens when you act despite your fears. 💪
4. The Illusion of Consumerism 🛍️
In a world where happiness is often equated with material possessions, it’s easy to fall into the trap of consumerism. But the AI points out that this consumer-driven society is just another way to keep us distracted from meaningful personal fulfillment. Remember, the path to true happiness lies in experiences and personal connections, not in the latest gadgets or designer brands.
Wrapping It Up 🎁
The AI has laid out a playbook for control, but now that we know the game, it’s time to change it. By encouraging independent thought, seeking financial freedom, and recognizing fear tactics, we can take back control of our lives and reach our full potential.
🚀 Want to learn more about breaking free from these systemic traps? Join The Agogi—our coaching group that’s all about becoming the CEO of your life. Let's work together to overcome the obstacles and live our best lives.

Enemies to Lovers with Captain America
Tumblr media
My life has always been a whirlwind of chaos and conflict, but looking back, the most unexpected twist was falling in love with Captain America. Steve Rogers, the embodiment of everything I once despised—rigid morality, unwavering patriotism, and that unshakeable sense of duty. We started as enemies, clashing in the shadows of a world on the brink of collapse. If this were a story in a comic book, it would sound cliché, but trust me, it was as real as the shield he wields. This is my story, raw and unfiltered, of how an adversary became my greatest ally and, eventually, the love of my life.
I remember the adrenaline rush as I faced him across that dimly lit warehouse. He was every bit the legend—tall, broad-shouldered, with that piercing blue stare that could make you question your life choices. "Stand down," he commanded, his voice steady and authoritative. I laughed, firing off a volley of countermeasures that sent him ducking for cover. We traded blows, my gadgets against his raw strength, and I have to admit, there was a thrill in it. He was predictable, always opting for the honorable path, which made him easy to outmaneuver at first. But there was something about him that gnawed at me—his refusal to give up, even when I had the upper hand. That night ended with me slipping away into the shadows, but not without a scar on his shield from my tech. I thought that was the end of it, just another skirmish in my endless war against the establishment. Little did I know, it was only the beginning.
But even then, I couldn't ignore the glimpses of his humanity. Mid-fight, he paused to save a civilian caught in the crossfire, his actions driven by pure instinct. It frustrated me—how could someone so principled be so effective? As I escaped once more, I found myself reflecting on those moments. Was I really the villain in this story, or was he just as blind to the complexities I saw? Our enmity grew, but so did a strange respect. I'd study his moves, analyzing footage of his battles, and in turn, he seemed to anticipate mine. It was a cat-and-mouse game that kept me on my toes, forcing me to evolve. Yet, deep down, a part of me started to question my path. Steve's unwavering belief in justice began to chip away at my cynicism, planting seeds of doubt that I wasn't ready to acknowledge.
The turning point came during a cataclysmic event that changed everything. A mutual enemy, a rogue AI with ambitions to reshape the world, forced us into an uneasy alliance. I was on the run, my organization dismantled by my own betrayals, when Steve tracked me down. Instead of arresting me, he offered a deal: help him stop the AI, and he'd vouch for me with S.H.I.E.L.D. I almost said no, out of sheer stubbornness, but the threat was too real. We worked together for the first time, side by side in the heat of battle. I provided the intel and tech hacks he needed, while he handled the frontline assaults with that signature bravery. During lulls in the fight, we'd exchange words—cautious at first, then more open. He shared stories of his past, of growing up in the Depression era and fighting in World War II, and I found myself opening up about my own scars, the losses that had driven me to the dark side.
It was during those quiet moments that I saw Steve not as Captain America, but as Steve Rogers—a man with vulnerabilities, doubts, and a heart that had been broken more times than I could count. We argued, of course; our ideologies clashed like thunder. He'd lecture me on the greater good, and I'd counter with the realities of corruption and inequality. But in those debates, I felt a connection, a spark that went beyond our shared mission. One night, after a particularly grueling day, we sat by a campfire in a remote hideout, exhausted and raw. He looked at me with those honest eyes and said, "I don't trust you yet, but I see the good in you." It was the first time anyone had said that to me in years. In that moment, the walls I'd built started to crumble.
As the mission progressed, so did our relationship. What began as reluctant teamwork evolved into genuine partnership. We'd share laughs over shared meals, and I'd catch him stealing glances my way. I found myself drawn to his integrity, his quiet strength, and the way he made me want to be better. It wasn't instantaneous; there were setbacks, moments where old enmities resurfaced. But slowly, the tension shifted from hostility to something electric, a pull that neither of us could ignore. By the time we defeated the AI, standing amidst the rubble, I realized my feelings had deepened. When he extended his hand to help me up, I didn't pull away. Instead, I held on, and in that touch, everything changed.
Falling in love with Steve was like stepping into the light after years in the shadows. It wasn't easy; we had to navigate the fallout of our pasts, the judgment from his allies, and my own insecurities. But he was patient, teaching me to trust again. We'd spend evenings in his modest apartment, talking about everything from world events to our favorite books. He'd make me laugh with his old-school references, and I'd challenge him to see the world through my eyes. Our first kiss was tentative, born from a moment of vulnerability after a nightmare where I relived our battles. It was soft, tentative, and it sealed our fate. From enemies to lovers, we bridged the divide, finding strength in our differences.
Looking back now, as I sit beside him on a quiet morning, watching the sun rise over the city we both protect, I can't help but marvel at the journey. I've traded my rogue ways for a life of redemption, working alongside the Avengers as an advisor. Steve and I aren't perfect—our arguments can still shake the walls—but that's what makes us work. He's my anchor, the one who turned my world upside down and showed me that even the fiercest enemies can find common ground in love. If there's a lesson in this, it's that sometimes, the people we fight hardest against are the ones who understand us the most. And for that, I'll always be grateful.

You seem to be into art. I'm really worried about AI taking over the art world and all culture. What do you think about AI and art? Am I just being paranoid? I try to support as many makers and artists as possible. Basically all my clothes are up-cycled or sourced by individuals. I only buy direct from artists and makers whenever I can. I'm just so freaked out by our lives being taken over by optimized AI. It just feels so apocalyptic right now! I HATE all these techbro CEOs
Also, I found your profile in a search about art/clothes. The other stuff I have no idea. Like LOA and non duality? No concepts? It seems interesting so I'll be reading more about it today. Seems like it might help with my current fear driven perspectives actually, but I'm not very into spiritual woowoo stuff. So, we'll see.
I totally get why it feels overwhelming — AI is everywhere right now, and a lot of the tech world can feel cold and optimized to the point of absurdity. But honestly, I’m not really worried. Whatever happens, happens. It’s already here, it’s both smart and dumb at the same time, and trying to control or resist it mentally just ends up draining you. If keeping your distance helps, then do that. It’s valid to feel uneasy — but driving yourself mad over it doesn’t do you any favors either. I'm indifferent. Everything has its good and bad aspects.
Personally, I find AI useful in some ways and absolutely useless in others. What’s funny to me is how phone companies or random gadgets — like that orange Rabbit thing, the “Friend” necklace, or the AI pins — advertise AI like it’s this magic feature, when half the time it barely works or just complicates things. It’s the same pitch in every ad: “AI will help you with X!” Yeah… we get it. Doesn’t mean I want it.
I see it more as a trend like NFTs or Crypto Currencies that’ll level out over time. And even if it doesn’t — it can take my closet if it wants to. I still buy mostly secondhand, though if I really need something I’ll buy from a bigger brand too. It’s a balance.
Also — I’m not a LOA account or any kind of account, really. I just post whatever comes up. So don’t worry too much about fitting what I say into a system. Feel free to read what resonates and leave the rest.😄
