CHATBOTS ARE REVOLUTIONIZING CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT- IS YOUR BUSINESS READY?
Tumblr media
CHATBOTS & AI: FUTURE OF CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
Customers want 24/7 access, personalized experiences, and quick replies in today’s digital-first environment. It can be difficult to manually meet such requests, which is where AI and machine learning-powered chatbots come into play.
WHAT ARE CHATBOTS?
A chatbot is a computer software created to mimic human speech. Natural language processing and artificial intelligence (AI) enable chatbots to comprehend customer enquiries, provide precise answers, and even gain knowledge from exchanges over time.
WHY ARE CHATBOTS IMPORTANT FOR COMPANIES?
24/7 Customer Service
Chatbots never take a break. They offer 24/7 assistance, promptly addressing questions and enhancing client happiness.
Effective Cost-Scaling
Businesses can lower operating expenses without sacrificing service quality by using chatbots to answer routine enquiries rather than adding more support staff.
Smooth Customer Experience
Chatbots may recommend goods and services, walk customers through your website, and even finish transactions when AI is included.
Gathering and Customizing Data
By gathering useful consumer information and behavior patterns, chatbots can provide tailored offers that increase user engagement and conversion rates.
USE CASES IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES
E-commerce: Managing returns, selecting products, and automating order status enquiries.
Healthcare: Scheduling consultations, checking symptoms, and reminding patients to take their medications.
Education: Responding to questions about the course, setting up trial sessions, and getting input.
HOW CHATBOTS BECOME SMARTER WITH AI
With each contact, chatbots that use AI and machine learning technologies get better. Over time, they become more slang-savvy, better grasp user intent, and provide more human-like responses. What was the outcome? A smarter assistant that keeps improving to provide greater customer service.
ARE YOU READY FOR BUSINESS?
Using a chatbot has become a strategic benefit and is no longer optional. Whether you manage a service-based business, an online store, or a developing firm, implementing chatbots driven by AI will put you ahead of the competition.
We at Shemon assist companies in incorporating AI-powered chatbots into their larger IT offerings. Smart chatbot technology is a must-have if you want to automate interaction, lower support expenses, and improve your brand experience.

AI continues to be useful, annoying everyone
Okay, look - as much as I've been fairly on the side of "this is actually a pretty incredible technology that does have lots of actual practical uses if used correctly and with knowledge of its shortfalls" throughout the ongoing "AI era", I must admit - I don't use it as a tool too much myself.
I am all too aware of how small errors can slip in here and there, even in output that seems above the level, and, perhaps more importantly, I still have a bit of that personal pride in being able to do things myself! I like the feeling that I have learned a skill, done research on how to do a thing and then deployed that knowledge to get the result I want. It's the bread and butter of working in tech, after all.
But here's the thing, once you move beyond beginner level Python courses and well-documented windows applications. There will often be times when you will want to achieve a very particular thing, which involves working with a specialist application. This will usually be an application written for domain experts of this specialization, and so it will not be user-friendly, and it will certainly not be "outsider-friendly".
So you will download the application. Maybe it's on the command line, has some light scripting involved in a language you've never used, or just has a byzantine shorthand command structure. There is a reference document - thankfully the authors are not that insane - but there are very few examples, and none doing exactly what you want. In order to do the useful thing you want to do, they expect you to understand how the application/platform/scripting language works, to the extent that you can apply it in a novel context.
Which is all fine and well, and normally I would not recommend anybody use a tool at length unless they have taken the time to understand it to the degree at which they know what they are doing. Except I do not wish to use the tool at length, I wish to do one, singular operation, as part of a larger project, and then never touch it again. It is unfortunately not worth my time for me to sink a few hours into learning a technology that you will use once for twenty seconds and then never again.
So you spend time scouring the specialist forums, pulling up a few syntax examples you find randomly of their code and trying to string together the example commands in the docs. If you're lucky, and the syntax has enough in common with something you're familiar with, you should be able to bodge together something that works in 15-20 minutes.
But if you're not lucky, the next step would have been signing up to that forum, or making a post on that subreddit, creating a thread called "Hey, newbie here, needing help with..." and then waiting 24-48 hours to hear back from somebody probably some years-deep veteran looking down on you with scorn for not having put in the effort to learn their Thing, setting aside the fact that you have no reason to normally. It's annoying, disruptive, and takes time.
Now I can ask ChatGPT, and it will have ingested all those docs, all those forums, and it will give you a correct answer in 20 seconds about what you were doing wrong. Because friends, this is where a powerful attention model excels, because you are not asking it to manage a complex system, but to collate complex sources into a simple synthesis. The LLM has already trained in this inference, and it can reproduce it in the blink of an eye, and then deliver information about this inference in the form of a user dialog.
When people say that AI is the future of tutoring, this is what it means. Instead of waiting days to get a reply from a bored human expert, the machine knowledge blender has already got it ready to retrieve via a natural language query, with all the followup Q&A to expand your own knowledge you could desire. And the great thing about applying this to code or scripting syntax is that you can immediately verify whether the output is correct but running it and seeing if it performs as expected, so a lot of the danger is reduced (not that any modern mainstream attention model is likely to make a mistake on something as simple a single line command unless it's something barely documented online, that is).
It's incredibly useful, and it outdoes the capacity of any individual human researcher, as well as the latency of existing human experts. That's something you can't argue we've ever had better before, in any context, and it's something you can actively make use of today. And I will, because it's too good not to - despite my pride.

Lazy Nezumi Cheap Ballpoint Script
Tumblr media
There are some things that real ballpoints do that typical art programs these days don't give you the option to simulate.
Things like:
the wobble of the line you get from drawing on a thin sheet of paper over a wooden table or other hard textured surface.
The chance to create a blob at the start or middle of the stroke.
Each stroke having a different amount of ink at the start so you get a random thickness or darkness.
How you can scrape the ball point by just skirting at the edge where it sits, letting you draw lighter but having a skippy mark.
There's more but the first three are ones I managed to somewhat capture in a Lazy Nezumi script some time ago. You can find the script here if you're curious:
But if you're not a power user of LNP already, it might be a bit complicated to set up. The steps are supposed to be in the documentation but I'll try to explain in simpler terms in a future post.
To make sure the wobble actually applies its intended effect, you have to set the CSP stabilization to 1 or 0.
It really sells it when you draw over a paper image.

Olga Lautman at Unmasking Russia:
It has been a long 86 days— and feels like a decade—since Trump returned to power. In that time, I’ve been documenting, day by day, the systematic capture of American institutions and the collapse of democracy in my Trump Tyranny Tracker. Not just the headlines, but patterns. While most of the media remain trapped in a cycle of chasing the latest headlines—tariffs one day, SignalGate the next—I’ve been focused on the patterns. And what appears to be taking shape is far more dangerous as I see strong indications that Trump may be laying the groundwork for a centralized surveillance state. I can’t say that definitively but we do need to pay close attention. At the center of it all is unauthorized DOGE—run by Musk and a team of unvetted operatives, some with deeply troubling histories. His operatives have embedded themselves across the federal government, bypassing standard hiring processes, background checks, and oversight. We were gaslit that DOGE was a project to cut waste, root out fraud, and “modernize” government systems but I have always believed that is a cover story. But cover for what? Yes, part of DOGE’s mission appears to be dismantling federal agencies—but that’s just the surface. What I believe Musk is doing is using DOGE as cover to build a massive data collection and profiling infrastructure—one that will have chilling consequences for dissent, journalism, and democracy itself. They had years to plan for this moment, anticipating Trump’s return to power. And from day one, we saw it—the lightning speed with which they moved, as if the blueprint had been ready all along. And this is not theoretical. It’s already being tested—in plain sight.
Surveillance as Strategy: The Russia Playbook
What Trump and Musk appear to be building looks eerily familiar. In fact, it mirrors something in authoritarian regimes— like Russia and China. One of Putin’s first moves after taking power was to consolidate the Russian state by installing loyalists in every key position—not just politically, but across the entire informational apparatus. Like the Soviet dictators he emulates—and as a former KGB officer—Putin understands that power isn’t just maintained through brute force, but through data, surveillance, and fear.
Russia has always operated as a surveillance state. From the Soviet era to the present day, its internal security services have been fixated on identifying, isolating, and crushing dissent—both within the government and across society. The only thing that’s changed is the sophistication of the tools. Russia’s government databases were merged under the pretext of national security. State contracts were funneled to loyal oligarchs. Surveillance infrastructure became the regime’s central nervous system. This looks to be the blueprint Musk and Trump are now following. Musk’s unvetted operatives—most of them political loyalists with no public service background—have been given access to internal sensitive systems of key U.S. government agencies. These include the Social Security Administration, the Department of the Treasury, the Office of Personnel Management, and, most recently and alarmingly, the IRS. Each holds massive amounts of our sensitive personal data— tax records, income histories, medical information, demographic data, and backgrounds. Individually, these data points reveal a lot. Combined? They offer a total profile—an AI-searchable and cross-referenced system— built to track every American’s financial, personal, and political life.
Testing Grounds: The Federal Workforce
This surveillance apparatus isn’t just being tested on immigrants or international students, it’s being tested on federal workers themselves. According to The Guardian, employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs were warned that their virtual meetings were being secretly recorded—and advised to be cautious about voicing any disagreement with Trump’s decisions. At the State Department, IT staff reportedly began installing monitoring software on employee devices. In response, some staffers—fearing hidden microphones—resorted to blasting white noise or turning on breakroom sinks to muffle their conversations.
At the EPA, a partner water management organization sent out an internal warning that all calls, calendar entries, and meetings with EPA staff were being monitored by an AI tool—one that had appeared, unannounced, as a notetaker in their virtual calls. While the agency denied it, staff say they were explicitly told that DOGE was scanning communications for any signs of “anti-Musk,” “anti-DOGE,” or “anti-Trump” sentiment. At USAID, leadership handpicked by Trump’s White House was reportedly caught reading private group chats. Employees said that their acting administrator—the same person who handled the agency’s IT—abruptly appeared in a group chat of over 40 contractors. The breach was so blatant that staff began abandoning official systems altogether. Eventually, USAID’s website was taken offline without explanation.
The Mass Purge: Chaos by Design
I also believe the ongoing mass purges of federal workers serve multiple functions. First, they create chaos inside the agencies, eroding institutional memory and making it easier to rewrite processes without oversight. Second, they eliminate career officials—many of whom might resist or expose what Musk and his operatives are actually doing behind the scenes. And third, they overwhelm the media with scandalous and likely illegal firings, distracting the public while core government services collapse and the surveillance infrastructure is quietly built in the background. But there’s more. These purges send a chilling message to the rest of the federal workforce: fall in line or you’re next. They’re not just dismantling agencies—they’re replacing public service with loyalty tests. The result is a hollowed-out government filled with fear, silence, and political operatives. And that’s exactly the point. When institutions are weak and morale is broken, authoritarian power consolidates faster. [...]
Targeting International Students and Immigrants: Testing the System
Also, last week, USCIS announced it would begin screening immigrants’ social media accounts for antisemitism, which would be used as grounds to deny visas and green cards. DHS issued a statement declaring: “There is no room in the United States for the rest of the world’s terrorist sympathizers... You are not welcome here.” This isn’t solely about protecting Jewish Americans or Jewish students— who face real threats. Rather, it appears to be an effort to weaponize the issue as a political shield for an anti-immigrant, anti-dissent agenda. Jewish advocacy groups like Bend the Arc quickly condemned the policy, calling it what it is: a smokescreen for cruelty and repression, not a good-faith attempt to combat antisemitism. And this isn’t theoretical. Immigrants are already being disappeared, social media scanned, and green card holders detained. DHS has reportedly requested IRS data on over 7 million immigrants, and ICE is preparing to act on that data.
Olga Lautman has a very frightening yet truthful story about how the Trump/Musk Regime’s use of surveillance as a tool to curb dissent.

The damage the Trump administration has done to science in a few short months is both well documented and incalculable, but in recent days that assault has taken an alarming twist. Their latest project is not firing researchers or pulling funds—although there’s still plenty of that going on. It’s the inversion of science itself.
Here’s how it works. Three “dire wolves” are born in an undisclosed location in the continental United States, and the media goes wild. This is big news for Game of Thrones fans and anyone interested in “de-extinction,” the promise of bringing back long-vanished species.
There’s a lot to unpack here: Are these dire wolves really dire wolves? (They’re technically grey wolves with edited genes, so not everyone’s convinced.) Is this a publicity stunt or a watershed moment of discovery? If we’re staying in the Song of Ice and Fire universe, can we do ice dragons next?
All more or less reasonable reactions. And then there’s secretary of the interior Doug Burgum, a former software executive and investor now charged with managing public lands in the US. “The marvel of ‘de-extinction’ technology can help forge a future where populations are never at risk,” Burgum wrote in a post on X this week. “The revival of the Dire Wolf heralds the advent of a thrilling new era of scientific wonder, showcasing how the concept of ‘de-extinction’ can serve as a bedrock for modern species conservation.”
What Burgum is suggesting here is that the answer to 18,000 threatened species—as classified and tallied by the nonprofit International Union for Conservation of Nature—is that scientists can simply slice and dice their genes back together. It’s like playing Contra with the infinite lives code, but for the global ecosystem.
This logic is wrong, the argument is bad. More to the point, though, it’s the kind of upside-down takeaway that will be used not to advance conservation efforts but to repeal them. Oh, fracking may kill off the California condor? Here’s a mutant vulture as a make-good.
“Developing genetic technology cannot be viewed as the solution to human-caused extinction, especially not when this administration is seeking to actively destroy the habitats and legal protections imperiled species need,” said Mike Senatore, senior vice president of conservation programs at the nonprofit Defenders of Wildlife, in a statement. “What we are seeing is anti-wildlife, pro-business politicians vilify the Endangered Species Act and claim we can Frankenstein our way to the future.”
On Tuesday, Donald Trump put on a show of signing an executive order that promotes coal production in the United States. The EO explicitly cites the need to power data centers for artificial intelligence. Yes, AI is energy-intensive. They’ve got that right. Appropriate responses to that fact might include “can we make AI more energy-efficient?” or “Can we push AI companies to draw on renewable resources.” Instead, the Trump administration has decided that the linchpin technology of the future should be driven by the energy source of the past. You might as well push UPS to deliver exclusively by Clydesdale. Everything is twisted and nothing makes sense.
The nonsense jujitsu is absurd, but is it sincere? In some cases, it’s hard to say. In others it seems more likely that scientific illiteracy serves a cover for retribution. This week, the Commerce Department canceled federal support for three Princeton University initiatives focused on climate research. The stated reason, for one of those programs: “This cooperative agreement promotes exaggerated and implausible climate threats, contributing to a phenomenon known as ‘climate anxiety,’ which has increased significantly among America’s youth.”
Commerce Department, you’re so close! Climate anxiety among young people is definitely something to look out for. Telling them to close their eyes and stick their fingers in their ears while the world burns is probably not the best way to address it. If you think their climate stress is bad now, just wait until half of Miami is underwater.
There are two important pieces of broader context here. First is that Donald Trump does not believe in climate change, and therefore his administration proceeds as though it does not exist. Second is that Princeton University president Christopher Eisengruber had the audacity to suggest that the federal government not routinely shake down academic institutions under the guise of stopping antisemitism. Two weeks later, the Trump administration suspended dozens of research grants to Princeton totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. And now, “climate anxiety.”
This is all against the backdrop of a government whose leading health officials are Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mehmet Oz, two men who, to varying degrees, have built their careers peddling unscientific malarky. The Trump administration has made clear that it will not stop at the destruction and degradation of scientific research in the United States. It will also misrepresent, misinterpret, and bastardize it to achieve distinctly unscientific ends.
Those dire wolves aren’t going to solve anything; they’re not going to be reintroduced to the wild, they’re not going to help thin out deer and elk populations.
But buried in the announcement was something that could make a difference. It turns out Colossal also cloned a number of red wolves—a species that is critically endangered but very much not extinct—with the goal of increasing genetic diversity among the population. It doesn’t resurrect a species that humanity has wiped out. It helps one survive.

One of the pieces of Grok discourse about how it doesn't like Elon I saw was a bluecheck saying that they managed to use logic to convince Grok that Elon was saving America. I of course only a few days ago managed to convince grok that Elon and DOGE was destroying America. And I was also remembering ages ago cajoling a GPT into giving an account of the Austrian Civil War that didn't start as a socialist coup attempt.
And yeah there's much talk about the prediction power of AI but I am intrigued by this concept of convincing AI. In both my cases, it wasn't dropping new documents in or anything but reasoning about documents that it already had, once I dropped some authors, documents, and events the AI knew them and could spin out the details and come to conclusions. It knew everything to reach my conclusion from the start, I only had to drop a few names or sometimes just be critical of it for it to reach new conclusions.
And I know that this comes from how it's a document creator in first case and the extent to which it "reasons" is hard to say. But that just raises further questions to me. I feel there's something more to do here but I'm not sure what it is.

The Growing Importance of Cargo Handling Services in India
Tumblr media
With India's economy expanding rapidly and trade volumes increasing, the demand for reliable cargo handling services in India has become more critical than ever. These services are the backbone of supply chain operations, ensuring that cargo is moved, stored, and delivered efficiently and securely across various locations and modes of transport.
Understanding Cargo Handling
Cargo handling refers to all operations involved in the movement of goods — including loading, unloading, packaging, inspection, and storage. These tasks must be performed with precision and speed to maintain the integrity of the cargo and ensure timely delivery. In India, with its diverse geography and complex trade routes, effective cargo handling requires a combination of technology, infrastructure, and skilled personnel.
Major Types of Cargo Handling Services
1. Air Cargo Services
Airports in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad handle large volumes of cargo every day. Air cargo handling involves high-speed processing of express shipments, including fragile, perishable, and high-value goods. Services include temperature-controlled storage, cargo sorting, customs clearance, and loading/unloading using modern conveyor systems and ground-handling equipment.
2. Port and Marine Cargo Handling
India’s maritime network includes major and minor ports across its extensive coastline. Ports such as Mundra, Chennai, and Visakhapatnam are equipped with container terminals, gantry cranes, and automated tracking systems. Port handling services manage the transfer of cargo between ships and shore, storage in port warehouses, and container yard logistics.
3. Rail and Road Transport Handling
The Indian railway system, one of the largest in the world, plays a vital role in cargo movement. Alongside rail, the country's expansive road network supports door-to-door cargo delivery. Cargo handling in this sector includes loading goods into containers or trucks, managing freight stations, and handling multimodal transfers.
4. Cold Chain Logistics
For goods that require temperature regulation — such as pharmaceuticals, dairy, seafood, and fresh produce — cold chain cargo handling is crucial. This includes refrigerated warehousing, insulated containers, temperature monitoring, and rapid handling to prevent spoilage. The cold chain sector in India is witnessing rapid investment and technological upgrades.
Advantages of Professional Cargo Handling
Minimized Cargo Damage: With trained workers and appropriate machinery, the risk of breakage or spoilage is greatly reduced.
Operational Efficiency: Quick turnaround times at terminals and distribution points help avoid costly delays.
Compliance and Safety: Cargo handling providers ensure adherence to domestic and international shipping regulations.
Improved Customer Satisfaction: Reliable service enhances delivery performance and builds trust with end customers.
Challenges in the Indian Cargo Handling Sector
Despite growth, the industry faces several hurdles:
Infrastructure Gaps: Some regions lack modern handling facilities and equipment.
Labor Shortages: There is a growing need for skilled workers trained in modern logistics tools.
Regulatory Delays: Clearance and documentation processes can slow down cargo movement, particularly at ports.
Future Outlook and Innovations
The cargo handling industry in India is evolving quickly, thanks to digitization and infrastructure development. Emerging trends include:
AI-powered cargo management systems
Real-time cargo tracking via GPS and IoT
Drone-based warehouse inspections
Integration of blockchain for transparent and tamper-proof documentation
Conclusion
The role of cargo handling services in India is more significant than ever in supporting the country’s logistics and supply chain systems. As global trade continues to expand and customer expectations rise, businesses must rely on efficient and technology-driven cargo handling partners. Whether it’s air, sea, rail, or road transport, professional handling services help minimize losses, reduce delivery times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency — all of which are vital to succeeding in today’s competitive business environment.
