Hallo all!

I figured I should stay by introducing myself and my goal here:

I'm Frog, a crochet artist. I've been crocheting for about 10 years now, mostly freehand.

I kept running across very obvious AI crochet projects and I couldn't help but think: "jeez, if someone is newer to crochet, they may well buy this pattern."

Thus, this Tumblr.

I wanted to create real plushies and patterns for the AI ones that are being sold and distribute them for free.

If you come across an AI image and would like an actual pattern for it, please feel free to submit the image and I'll do what I can to create it for you!

Please do keep in mind, there will be differences between the AI plush and the human version, most of the time for logic or aesthetic purposes. These aren't always 1 to 1, but I will try to keep the original spirit and general look of the original!!!

Also! Please keep in mind that I am a left handed crocheter!

French publishers and authors have sued Meta, accusing it of using their copyrighted works without permission to train its AI models. Three trade groups filed the lawsuit in a Paris court, alleging Meta's "massive use" of protected content.

The National Publishing Union claims its members' works appear in Meta’s data pool without consent. The National Union of Authors and Composers warns that AI-generated "fake books" threaten real authors. The Societe des Gens de Lettres, also part of the lawsuit, demands Meta delete unauthorized training data.

The truth is this:

AI moderation systems aren’t artists.

They can’t feel what you feel.

They don’t understand the heart behind your OC.

All they see is a pattern.

And if that pattern matches too closely with a fandom design—even if it’s your own drawing—

you’re at risk.

So What Happens When the AI Gets Too Controlling?

What happens to DeviantArt when it flags everything that looks "too inspired"?

What happens to YouTube thumbnails that show a character YOU designed but AI doesn't understand?

What happens to your OC that’s part-dragon, part-human, part-Hero-Academy-vibes… but 100% yours?

What happens when it’s not even AI art—but just your art—and it still gets erased?

AI is powerful.

But it’s not perfect.

And if we don’t create systems that protect fan creators, OC artists, and fandom-inspired works,

we’ll lose something beautiful and essential to creativity:

The right to be inspired.

The right to build your own world.

The right to show your OC without fear.
