"Why would you and I need 'makeovers' when we are already perfect just as we are? What would we even change? The humans have all sorts of bizarre rituals, but I wouldn't call them 'cute', exactly — pointless, hysterical, and even a little sad at times seems much more appropriate personally."

While Anouk did so adore to wear elaborate ornamentation (like her beloved jewelry or the corset made of bone and webbing Carrion had crafted) and took great pride in her appearance, the human concept of reinvention seemed to her to be nothing more than their eternal struggle to be perfect even though perfection was forever out of reach to their kind. Très tragique!

that was it. there was no way that she was ever going to see him again, finally, he had given into the side that he had always wanted to listen to. there was no more fire and gasoline, there was just frank leaving-------------------------for good. alana had hoped that after a day she would have hear him come knocking on her door, knowing that no matter what there was no way the the two of them could ever stay apart.

but this time was different. this time, it had been five days since their last goodbye.

she tried not to think of it, alana wasn’t the type of person that needed anyone, and definitely not the type of woman who pined over a man she couldn’t have. she kept herself busy with work, and when work wasn’t an option, she would clean, and when there was nothing left to clean she would drink herself into a stupor and fall asleep. but the thing about it was, that no matter how hard she tried not to think about him, frank was always in the back of her mind.  damn it alana, get it together. she scolded herself often. but then went back and thought ; what could i have done differently. 

that night was no different, she was getting ready for bed, wore a silk nightgown that was emerald green, and a black housecoat atop. both fell mid-thigh length, just about to open the door to let her dogs out to use the washroom one last time before she called it a night. but her porch wasn’t empty that night. there in the shadows frank castle stood. he might have said something to her but alana couldn’t hear. she was overjoyed to see him.

in true dramatism, the glass she held in her hands fell to the ground and shattered ( luckily the dogs were all outside at this point ) and she bound into frank’s arms. not a single thought ran through her mind. she wrapped her legs around his waist, hands touch his face, she’s not processing anything except you’re here, which she muttered over and over again. 

arms wrap around his neck, and a soft sob falls from her lips. fingers grab onto what little hair he has upon his head, and she presses soft, gentle kisses to his neck. she doesn’t know why he’s there, she doesn’t know what the purpose of his visit is-------------it could be the worst day of her life, but the only thing that she cared about was that he was here, with her, right then and there.

‘ i thought i’d never see you again. ’ she wept, muffled words spoken into the crook of his neck. ‘ i’d thought you'd really left.’ her body shakes with a sob. ‘ please don’t do ever do this to me again. ’ she pleaded, surely ‘pon deaf ears, but she meant it, with all of her heart.
