Feeling good about writing

Writing for 9 years, never having missed a blog is a big achievement for me. I have never associated my writing with autism, or saw it as an autism trait.

Whilst it’s true anyone with autism is single minded, up until I started my diary, I never had any interests and never finished anything. I would start things and not finish them. I didn’t know I had a gift.

Through my blog and for the first time, I bring my experiences to life. I talk about my experiences around a disability I didn’t know I had, having been silenced for many years. My blog helps with my disability, it also helps with my anxiety.

My blog, centred around my mental health allows me to think about and bring clarity to my experiences, to my life. Writing about my struggles, for the first time brings understanding in what has been a traumatic and confusing life.

Whilst helping myself, my blogs also help others understand what they deal with. My writing makes me feel good and to know that I’m not alone. Where an obsession could spill over and single me out, I take time for other things.

I’m doing something I love that makes me feel better. Having impaired emotions, breaks the cycle of it turning into an obsession. It’s a feel-good factor. Writing makes me feel better, it empowers me to want to write more, to do and feel better.

My blog brings clarity where I didn’t have clarity, and understanding where there was none. Through my writing, issues are resolved, as soon as I’ve written about that issue. 

Even if my enthusiasm were to seem like an obsession, I would never stop doing something that makes me and others feel better.

Well, it finally happened. I finally did the the Tumblr thing. Figured I should post something here before getting down to the business of tumbling...and find that I don’t have much to say. *shrug* So hows about we just do this thing. :)

17/3/19 - Long time, no Instagram update... i’m afraid I’m not good at this - it’s hard to know what to post on IG sometimes! But anyway... I’ve gotten back into my writing over the last two weeks (some days more productive than others). This week has been more productive than last week - even Saturday, and those were really difficult during #Nanowrimo2018 - but I still fell short by just over 200 words of where I decided I wanted to be yesterday morning. Theeeeerefore, this is how many words I have to write today to get to 10K words for the fortnight. It feels like a tall order considering how it’s almost 4pm and I haven’t done anything, but I know what’s got to happen in the chapter I started yesterday which is *such* a big help. Inchoate

Alive in others
