RANDOM THUNDERBOLTS* HEADCANONS!!
Yelena is actually the one in the vents, because Kate Bishop mentioned that according to Clint, they were very comfortable. Speaking of Kate, they go for coffee, pastries and shopping once a month–and Kate gives her so much crap about taking up the Avengers mantle after shitting on it initially.
Ava, meanwhile, is in the walls. Thus she's heard argumentative phone calls between Bucky and Sam, or stressful phone calls between Mel and Val. This Tower is a prison.
Speaking of Sam and Bucky, they had been preparing to live together in Louisiana before Valentina ruined everything. 💔 Like the moving company was halfway doNE.
Ava, also, is like–always tired. A package deal with her chronic pain. She's an insomniac, however, with much trouble falling asleep.
It's like, a whole thing. Every night she'll be rushing through the tiwer restlessly instead of sleeping, opening the fridge for water, or generally making noise. She wakes others up and eventually it becomes a collective issue.
Like, none of them sleep well, but she's far too restless. And so they all start brainstorming to find ways for Ava to fall asleep more easily. Music, white noise, that sort of thing. Finally, it's John's idea that actually works: conversation. Apparently sleep was impossible for him too due to ptsd from Afghanistan–and apparently, the one thing that used to help was talking to Lemar until they both fell asleep.
At first Ava thinks it's stupid, but it works. She never outwardly tells him it did, she just keeps inviting him to talk about literally anything. They make a habit of it.
I like to think that each girl in this movie has her respective blorbo? Yelena & Bob, Ava & Walker, Mel & Bucky. Not romantically. Just vibes.
Yelena and Ava love texting each other/talking about whatever. Their favorite activity is obviously thinking of clever insults to throw at Walker.
In the universe where Antonia lives, Yelena becomes her big sister and Ava her gf. Just ‘cause.
Mel never called herself Mel pre-working for Valentina, or if she did, she did it in hopes of working for her. She was Melissa–then Val gave her the nickname Mel. Because Mel is hardly allowed or able to have an identity outside of Val.
Valentina is like... evil soccer mom. Via Mel. Makes all their appointments, trying to do enough PR work to make the american public conveniently forget the soviet assassins, the high level criminals, the goddamn void, the impeachment/investigation oN Val and the disgraced captain america who killed a guy in public. Photoshoots! Sponsorships! Partnerships! Advertising! Merch! Mel has never been so overworked in her life.
Yelena, John and Alexei will occasionally watch soccer/football together. There is a lot of yelling. Bob doesn't like it. Neither does Ava. The two of them get noise cancelling headphones and sit together someplace else. Bucky oftentimes joins them.
Bob does the most chores out of everyone, feeling the need to overcompensate his usefulness, since he can't be the Sentry without the Void.
Yelena and Alexei have both been desperately trying to get back in touch with Melina, but ever since Nat died, they can't find her anywhere.
Yelena makes Alexei watch, “Good Bye, Lenin!” after he says he's never even heard of it. He proceeds to think about it for days and loses sleep over it.
Ava misses her surrogate father, Dr Bill Foster. Like, desperately. Alexei's newfound bombastic dad energy sneaks its way into her heart.
Mel was a gifted kid desperate for academic validation. She also had severe mommy issues. A surprise to no-one. All in all her working for Val I'd a recipe for toxic workplace codependent disaster.
Ava is the one who starts calling Walker, “America’s ass(hole)” and at first Bucky hated it for being a Steve reference, but after everyone else began referring to him as such, he got over it.
Bob and Joaquin Torres have been unknowingly playing video games together for months. One day Bucky walks in on Bob, asks, “hey kid, what are you–” and recognizes Joaquin's username from something Sam had mentioned at one point. He loses his shit.
Valentina constantly makes really caustic and mean spirited jokes about how she would've treated Olivia, (John’s wife) better. Bucky, who technically doesn't disagree, but hates Val, tells her that he could have treated Everett Ross better. Valentina is gagged for approximately five seconds before laughing and saying, “well, obviously, your sexualities would be better aligned–” and she NEVER elaborates.

Here's an idea for when Bruce Banner is on the run
In the show from the 70s, Bruce was often not just running, but helping people out, most times even as the Hulk. So, if you went that route for the comics or a cartoon, do the same - but have there be mutant kids he helps out as well.
Like some mutant kids are being bullied by normal humans, or other mutants, and he helps them out. Teaches them ways to stand up for themselves, or tutors them when he's not working a lowbrow job to get money to try and go back to being a normal man (heck, have one mutant kid he helps point out the hypocrisy of that, and have the start of Bruce realizing Hulk isn't a curse begin there.)
Or have him find a family with ill mutant children, or mutant street kids who are sick, and let him help them out by nursing them back to health. And in the interim, Bruce teaches some of them first aid and such.
Then have him and one of the other Avengers (or a third party if you'd prefer) be on the run from Ross or HYDRA/SHIELD, and they find some of the kids he helped in the past not just grown, but grateful for his help and going above and beyond to keep them hidden from whomever.
Just, come on.
It'd be so much fun.

Marvel's Secret Invasion wastes potential & fantastic actors - REVIEW
I'll be honest, the announcement of Secret Invasion being adapted into a Marvel television series was somewhat disappointing. After seeing this story successfully adapted through Avenger's Earth Mightiest Heroes, and with the MCU's ever growing roster of heroes, it felt like a story well suited for the big screen.
None the less, when it was revealed to be an espionage thriller centered around Nick Fury, with the feel of Captain America the Winter Soldier, I was very excited.
As the cast grew, Ben Mendelson, Emilia Clarke, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Olivia Coleman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, I thought this show was going to be something very special.
Unfortunately, while most MCU shows have been a mixed bag, none have been more mixed baggier than Secret Invasion.
Before I get anymore deep into this rant, I must say:
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ALL OF SECRET INVASION.
I will say a few nice things to start.
Excellent Actors
Although I think many of these actors were wasted as far as how much screen time they had, and their role within their show, the show is ridiculously stacked with talent and it's a delight to watch.
Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Don Cheadle and Ben Mendelson are highlights to me, but Samuel L Jackson, Emilia Clarke, and others are also fantastic.
Colman as Sonya I think will leave this show as a fan favorite, and possible eventual successor to Fury. She has a good mix of fun energy and intimidation, and clearly is having a ball.
Don Cheadle's "Rhodey" is for once doing something interesting in this show. As a secondary antagonist, Cheadle is able to chew up scenery as a Skrull and be a sinister rival to Samuel L Jackson, for once using Cheadle's fantastic acting skills properly.
While Gravik is an ordinary Marvel villain by all means, Ben-Adir gives him an anger and viewpoint that feels fresh. His monologue facing Fury in the final episode really brings the pain out for me. I don't know if he'll work as a character for others, but for me, due to the performance, Gravik is a step above many others.
Solid Ending
Secret Invasion ends on some very interesting notes, and I think overall sticks the landing where other MCU shows fail.
Wrapping up the story of Gravik with a giant Super-Skrull fight (which was a lot of fun), it leaves the MCU in a very interesting place, with the President calling on all aliens to be considered enemies.
This leaves assassinations running rampant, Skrulls on the run, and people anxious and scared.
This leaves Sonya and a new super G'iah as uneasy allies to protect the Skrulls and mankind.
This also pushes Fury to keep his promise and go up to Saber to continue his mission with his wife.
Overall, I like this ending. It sets up good stakes for earth that aren't just multiversal stakes. We can feel the ramifications of this show for years to come, and seeing what Fury, Sonya, and G'iah do next does excite me.
Plus, who doesn't love a Super Skrull fight?
Excellent Complicated Love Story
I think often where reviews and reviewers fall short is complaining about what a show isn't as opposed to examining a show for what it is.
While part of me thinks this isn't the time for a Nick Fury love story, I also have to point out that this is a great love story.
Charlayne Woodard as Nick Fury's wife Varra/Priscilla Davis adds an excellent layer to Fury's character.
While the chemistry is there, the acting performance between these two were captivating. There is an excellent scene where you have no idea what each character might do, guns on the table, talking about their past mistakes.
This was by far my favorite scene of the show.
It also brings to light many of Fury's flaws and possible prejudices, and gives you a firsthand look at what Skrulls go through on a daily basis.
Overall, I loved the inclusion of Varra, and would love to see her pop up more often.
But now on to my problems with the show. Starting with:
Meaningless Deaths
While a story like this definitely needs death to carry weight, I'd argue two characters die for absolutely no reason.
First I'll talk about is Talos. This fan favorite character dies in my opinion the saddest death. At the end of Talos' life, he has lost his wife, his daughter has lost faith in him, he has been stripped of his seat at the table of the Council, he has lost the faith of his people, and he just dies.
Now, a death like that you think would impact our main characters in any sort of significant way. But Fury, like with most deaths, has no reaction. It does not change or effect Fury's view of himself, he does not reflect on his regrets. You'd assume he was a nothing soldier, not a brother in arms.
But at the very least we got more Talos this season before his fatal end.
Maria Hill and Cobie Smulders deserved so much more.
Besides her death being used as leverage for the world to be after Nick Fury, which truly doesn't affect him at all, Hill's role is simply to die to imply stakes.
Using Maria just to die in such an unheroic way is really insulting to the character. When they killed Coulson, at the very least they did it with him trying to protect one of our heroes. Here, she is tricked by Gravik, and dies doing nothing of importance in the series.
I think having another character to provide a view point between Talos and Fury's argument of the Skrulls could have been beneficial. And having a larger group of agents would've added to the drama of who you could trust, who is really a skrull.
Instead they wasted not one but two of Marvel's most underrated characters.
Twists we see Coming
Rhodey being a skrull, G'iah not being dead, even G'iah being Fury in the final battle were all rather predictable twists. While there were genuine moments of suspense and shock, none of these worked for me.
Perhaps if they hinted strongly The President was a Skrull, and it was revealed it was actually Rhodey, that might've worked more for me, or hiding G'iah is alive for a few episodes. But instead none of them felt particularly hard to figure out.
Easy to figure out who you could trust
The point of a Secret Invasion storyline with many characters is to not trust anyone.
With the exception of Rhodey, Ross and Fury (ONE TIME), we don't get anyone impersonating our heroes. No one pretends to be Talos, or other MCU heroes, and Fury's crew is easy to trust throughout the entire show.
They do a half-hearted reason as to why Fury can't call other Avengers but really the best reason was right under their noses: he doesn't know who is real. That should've been the driving force of the show. Fury putting all his best mates to the test trying to figure out who he can trust and undo this invasion.
That's what a Secret Invasion story is.
All in all, Secret Invasion has just enough weight and great performances to warrant a watch and maybe even a future. It surprisingly sets up a second season very well, even with two protagonists who aren't Fury.
If this were to continue, it definitely needs to push the stakes, the conflict, and more than anything, the suspense. We should all be like Agent Prescod wondering desperately as it goes on, who do we trust?
If not, I'm afraid this show is destined to be forgotten in the middle of the road of the MCU.

Where’s the Rhodey and Everett Ross fanfics for Secret Invasion. I want to read them dealing with being kidnapped, the paranoia of being replaced by a Skrull and the possibility that those they care about may have been replaced by a Skrull. Like let them start waving guns at people asking them to prove they are who they say they are. Like Ross going back to Wakanda and paranoid about if Shuri and Okoye are really themselves and not Skrulls.

I thought Secret Invasion's ending was really good! I don't understand the hate and criticism it's getting, or why people think it was the worst finale yet when I don't believe it was. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was a good way to wrap up the story and leads quite nicely into the events of The Marvels.
Another very good show from Marvel that I think adds more to the story and is a nice treat in-between the movies!

I wonder if we'll see a live action Hulk And The Agents of S.M.A.S.H. series. It deserves more new seasons & more new episodes someday, so that way, we could see more adventures of Hulk and his teammates, like A-Bomb, Skaar, She-Hulk & Red.

Bruce has a son!??!?!?!?!

Damn!!! Looks like Hulk was doing more than winning fights when he was on Sakaar for two years!!!
Well, that explains why that spaceship came to get him at the start of the series now!
Looks like Skaar is now part of the MCU now. Guess that means we’re gonna hear about Caiera the Oldstrong, his mother.

MCU Timeline: Black Widow
1970s - Early 1980s - Melina Vostokoff is cycled through the Red Room (four times).
1980s - Alexei Shostakov serves as the Soviet superhero Red Guardian.
December 3, 1983 - Natalia Alianovna Romanova is born.
Note: In CA:TWS, Zola said Natasha was born in 1984, so it's not entirely clear which year is correct. Considering she looked older than 10 in September 1995, and the fact that CA:TWS was a mess in terms of dates, I'd go with 1983.
December 1983 - 1984 - Natasha is selected through a program to assess the genetic potential of infants and taken from her family.
1984 - 1990s or 2000s - Natasha's biological mother is looking for her.
1989 - Yelena Belova is born.
1992 - the last time Alexei Shostakov was on a mission as the Red Guardian.
1992-1995:
Natasha, Yelena, Alexei and Melina play family in Ohio.
The "Parents" infiltrate the North Institute (a front for S.H.I.E.L.D./Hydra scientists working on mind control techniques as part of the Winter Soldier program).
~September 1995:
Alexei steals data from S.H.I.E.L.D./Hydra and burns down the North Institute. They leave the States and fly to Cuba.
Girls are sent to be trained as spies and assassins.
Dreykov throws Alexei in prison for life.
1995 - Early 2000s:
Natasha undergoes training in the Red Room and becomes the Black Widow.
Natasha's biological mother is killed on Dreykov's orders.
1995-2016 - Melina perfects mind control for the Red Room using stolen data.
2000s:
Natasha takes part in KGB missions all over the world.
Yelena is used as a child assassin.
2008:
Natasha defects to S.H.I.E.L.D. after meeting Clint Barton.
As the final step in this process, she blows up General Dreykov and his daughter Antonia in Budapest. For the next eight years, she believes he is dead and the Red Room is gone.
Next 10 days - Natasha and Clint hide from Hungarian special forces, including 2 days in a subway ventilation shaft.
Antonia survives, and her father turns her into a weapon - an operative Taskmaster.
After Natasha's escape, Dreykov begins using chemical subjugation on his agents to prevent anyone else from getting out.
The main events take place in May 2016.
First days of May:
Yelena is freed from mind control while hunting former Black Widow Oksana in Morocco. Oksana, mortally wounded, asks her to free the others with vials of Red Dust. Yelena defects from the Red Room.
With Mason's help, she hides in a safe house in Budapest.
Through him, Yelena sends Red Dust to Natasha.
May 4:
Natasha aids the Rogue Avengers at Leipzig/Halle Airport, attacks T'Challa, and goes on the run from Ross, who places her on an international wanted list.
~Night - Secretary Ross has another heart attack and a second (presumably) triple bypass surgery.
Note: it's probably Tony's fault.
~May 5-7 - Natasha is in the US. She leaves her suit and tracker at the train station and heads back to Europe.
~May 8, 8:50 am (US)/2:50 pm (Norway) - Natasha tricks Ross on her way to Norway and gets rid of her phone.
Why May 8th: Here's the thing - we don't know when Ross's heart attack happened. But since he wasn't monitoring Tony after Raft, I'm guessing it was the same night of May 4th-5th or May 5th. It takes 3 days to start walking after artery bypass surgery. So we have to assume it was at least May 8th. More than a few days would also be weird since Natasha was on the run, not on the crawl.
~5 pm - Natasha buys groceries and arrives at a mobile home in the Norwegian wilderness, where she finds Mason, who has brought her fake IDs and mail from the safe house in Budapest.
~11 pm - the power goes out in the mobile home, and Natasha goes into town to get fuel for the generator, taking the vials with her in the trunk.
She is attacked by Taskmaster, who is looking for the vials. They fight. Taskmaster defeats Nat by throwing her into the river, but she manages to take the vials.
~May 11:
Natasha comes to Budapest.
Why 3 days later: 1) The train ride from Budapest to Norway takes about 2 days. 2) She split her lip during the fight with Taskmaster, which had already healed by the time she arrived in Budapest (takes at least 3 days). 3) The bruises on her body turned purple (takes 2-5 days after they appeared).
She arrives at the safe house and meets Yelena. They then fight, but end up in a truce.
Natasha learns that Dreykov is still alive and the Red Room still exists.
Natasha and Yelena are attacked by mind-controlled Black Widows.
Before they could use Red Dust on one of the wounded Widows, she was killed remotely by Dreykov.
Natasha and Yelena are pursued by Taskmaster until they reach the same ventilation shaft that Natasha and Barton hid in 8 years ago.
Evening - Nat and Yelena decide to destroy the Red Room and kill Dreykov. For real this time.
Natasha orders a jet through Mason.
~May 13:
Yelena and Natasha arrive in Russia.
Mason gets them an old Russian helicopter.
Why May 13: The drive from Hungary to Russia takes ~20 hours. They left at night and could only arrive the following evening. They met Mason in the daytime, that is, the next day.
~May 14:
Natasha and Yelena arrange Alexey's escape from prison in Russia.
F*ck up time: here we go again - snow in Russia in mid-May. I could say "okay" if we were talking about Oymyakon, but it's very far from St. Petersburg, and from the distance they could fly with this helicopter. On the way back they only had fuel for ~100 km of flight. This means that this prison had to be very close to the city. But it definitely wasn't, if our eyes are to be believed. There are no such frozen mountain places around St. Petersburg.
They head to St. Petersburg to find Melina, but they run out of fuel before they reach their destination, so they walk the rest of the way.
Evening - family reunion. They come to Melina's house outside the city.
Melina alerts the Red Room.
Alexei put on his Red Guardian suit (Melina had kept it all these years).
The fake family drinks vodka and argues. Melina tells Natasha the truth about her parents.
10 pm - Melina tells Nat she alerted the Red Room. They create a plan and Melina tells Nat how to defeat Dreykov. Natasha and Melina "switch bodies."
~10:12 pm - Dreykov's agents arrive and take everyone to the Red Room.
~May 15:
1:35 am - Natasha, disguised as Melina, comes to Dreykov's office and activates her tracker, allowing Ross to find her.
The Red Room surgeons prepare Yelena for a craniotomy so that Melina can dissect her brain while Yelena is still alive.
Alexei and the real Melina, in the guise of Natasha, wake up in the Red Room cells on level zero.
Dreykov exposes Natasha.
Melina, Alexei and Yelena escape.
Dreykov reveals that Taskmaster is his daughter, who survived the explosion. He sends her away and is left alone with Natasha.
Alexei fights Taskmaster. He and Melina manage to put her in a cell.
Dreykov prevents the activation of the landing protocol and shows Natasha the console from which he controls all the Black Widows.
Natasha breaks the pheromone lock preventing her from killing Dreykov and attacks him.
Melina destroys the Red Room's engine and the structure goes on an (un)controlled crash.
Black Widows attack Natasha.
Yelena blows up the vials, exposing the Black Widows to the Red Dust.
Natasha downloads the Black Widow database.
She frees Antonia from the cell.
Yelena kills Dreykov, Natasha fights Taskmaster.
After sunrise, somewhere in eastern Russia, few time zones away from St. Petersburg - Natasha, Yelena, and Antonia land. Natasha exposes the latter to the Red Dust.
Family gathering. Yelena gives Natasha her vest with many pockets. Natasha gives her a mission to free other Black Widows around the world.
Yelena, Melina, Alexei, Antonia and the freed Widows leave. Natasha surrenders to Ross, who has arrived. She then escapes from his car.
Late May (3 days before the next date) - Mason travels through 6 different time zones to get a quinjet for Natasha.
2 weeks after the termination of the Red Room, last days of May/first days of June 2016 - Natasha, dyed white, finally receives the Avengers jet from Mason and flies to help Rogers organize the Rogues' escape from the Raft.
I can't imagine how he didn't melt in those layers of clothing in the summer.
2016 - May 2018 or late 2023 - early 2024 - Yelena adopts a dog, Fanny.
Late 2023 – Early 2024 – Natasha Romanoff receives a tombstone in Ohio.
Late April/Early May 2024:
Yelena visits the gravesite on her holiday.
Valentina Allegra de Fontaine comes too and gives Yelena her next target - Clint Barton.
