When you're angry, all your defenses go up. The unfortunate person, or thing, that managed to piss you off is suddenly talking to a wall. On the inside, you're screaming and crying and cussing them out, but somehow you can't express it. You're blank. Emotionless. To anyone's knowledge, you could be zoning out of a lecture. Because of this, it's hard to express how you're feeling when the person asks for your thoughts. You've choked your feelings down, and they won't come back up.

Usually, you're able to bottle up your emotions and ignore the frustrations. After weeks of shoving everything down, your body needs a release, and I pity the poor person who managed to piss you off. It's screaming and crying and shouting and kicking lockers; whatever you can do to get it out of your system. It's a whole moment; fire and fury blasting out of you.

OC Pride Month

Day 1 - Ahnzo Adaar, Inquisitor

Ahnzo identifies as Demisexual Homoromantic. It wasn't until after meeting his best friend in his late teens, that he realized he had great romantic feelings for the same sex.

He realized he was Demisexual when he figured out he didn't have the same feelings as everyone else. All he wanted was to love his partner and sit next to them at night, only engaging in physical contact when he and his partner felt the need for a closer connection.

Ahnzo here, is where my name comes from. It is an original name I thought of one night at work back in 2015. This was the start of when I began to question my orientation and gender identity.

Moira + Ahnzo Vincente Shepard

Green

Green characters are often hotheaded and brash, unafraid to speak their mind. They make for excellent leaders and teachers, and tend to be most devoted to a specific field, which they do well in. They have a lot of confidence in themselves, and although they can’t always see themselves positively, they are good about respecting themselves. They have a lot of common sense but are equally likely to strategically plan something out as to rush in on an impulse. They often have to work hard to get others to respect them, and sometimes receive less of it when people find out who they are. Still, they are not afraid to make others uncomfortable by being themselves, and are unlikely to waver when someone wants them to change against their will. They can be brash and loud, but also very quiet and secretive. Their humor can be a bit rude, and they don’t always display friendship and affection to the people they care about in the most conventional ways. However, they’re quite easygoing, witty, and fun-loving people. They don’t like when people are flighty and prefer to work with people who don’t quit and stand their ground. They stand out from others, both because of the way they approach the world, and because of how skilled they tend to be at what they do. Some people may not suspect that they are harmonious because of their blunt nature, but they are surprisingly good and reasonable diplomats, and can employ a lot of meaningful tact when the situation calls for it. They may feel a sense of distance or abandonment from their parental figures, as they often became emotionally or physically absent sometime in their life. Green characters hate being told what to do and put into a box, and are likely to challenge authority. They can be hard to work with at times due to their stubbornness, but they bring a lot to the table and tend to round out their friend groups. They need people in their lives who respect them, care about them, and listen to them, as well as offer them companionship without requiring them to conform to a certain preset standard.

Orange

Orange characters are charismatic and talented. They push themselves to be the best at everything they put their mind to, and get upset when they can’t meet their own standards. They tend to be prodigies, seeming almost superhuman in their genius or abilities, but they often base their self-worth off of how well they can perform, making them feel isolated from the others around them. While most people see orange characters as cocky and self-absorbed, they are actually quite insecure in themselves. They want attention and validation from others, but because of their faux confidence and the constant (and often somewhat empty) praise from the people around them, the people that are truly closest to them often withhold it from them. This often leads them to push themselves beyond their limits to succeed and/or act out in unhealthy and self-destructive ways, in an effort to get some kind of recognition. These characters seek to impress, and have a hard time telling praise from love. They have a constant need to be the hero, in whatever context that means for them. These characters usually have a sense of humor and wit that can tend to flatter themselves (although much of what they say is rooted in truth), but it’s contrasting to some of their more self-deprecating natures. They can be serious loners, since they isolate themselves from others in an attempt to protect themselves. Although they would never admit it, they crave acceptance and belonging. Others generally don’t see this, because orange characters are loathe to admit weakness and build up defenses by making it clear that they don’t care what others think, although they do. In childhood, it is likely that their parental figures were either absent or abusive, often holding them up to high standards while not providing enough positive reinforcement. Other characters need to treat orange characters not as an annoyance, or give up on them quickly, but to make it clear that they are willing to love and support them regardless of how useful they can be, and to voice compliments where they are due.

Red

Red characters tend to be both quiet and observant as well as loud and dramatic. They are often brash and impulsive, and tend to act on instinct rather than planning ahead. They are quite self-sacrificing, often veering into self-destructive, and they push themselves to their limits trying to succeed. They tend to be stubborn, and it might take a lot to change their mind. They have a hard time expressing their feelings, and may come off as either emotionless, self-absorbed, or perpetually angry. They don’t have a ton of friends, and when they do, it’s often by circumstance rather than choice (although they grow to fiercely love their friends). They are not usually innately good at fitting into social situations, and can be awkward and out of place in them. They can come off as unhumorous because of how sincere and honest they tend to be, but tend to just have a dryer, sarcastic sense of humor. They do often think of others first, but their motivations for it might not be entirely selfless. They usually have a hard time conceivably lying, and are quite earnest without meaning to be.They put their full effort into what they do, and push themselves to improve at all costs. They get easily defensive, and feel like they have to prove themselves to earn anyone’s respect. They have a strong sense of internal morality and high standards for themselves. They also hold others to their internal high standards, which can cause a lot of conflict if not worked out. They tend to have bad relationships with their parental figures, who were usually either absent or abusive, and contributed to their toxic view of themselves. At their core, red characters want to be loved and accepted, but have often been denied it, leading them to build up lots of defenses. Others need to be patient with them and give them a safe space to be themselves as they open up and begin to flourish.

Ahnzo V. Ryder

Light Blue

Light Blue characters are laidback and creative, often with a good sense of humor that ranges from sarcastic to straight up puns. They are good at community building because of their chill and funny nature, and they are expert planners. They normally aren’t very uptight, but can become so when they feel there is something that needs to be done, or feels that their authority is being undermined. They have a very strong sense of responsibility, mainly for people in their care, often an older sibling figure to many of those close to them. They can get paranoid and overbearing when they are worried about those that they are caring for. They can also act childish and have fun but they like having people around who can see their maturity and treat them accordingly. They use a lot of humor to get around dealing with their internal problems, and tend to complain about surface level issues in order to ignore their more vulnerable feelings. Because of their tendency to make jokes and try to get people to laugh, they aren’t often recognized for their intelligence. Sometimes they lack common sense and it plays out in humorous ways, but when it really counts they are quite perceptive and intelligent, brilliant inventors and strategists. Their decisions may seem impulsive, but are usually quite thought out and purposeful. They aren’t the type of person who really wants to be the sole lead, but they want to have a say in the decision making, and they need their input to be taken seriously. They often feel inferior to others and can become defensive when their ideas or sense is questioned because of it. They don’t generally get things handed to them, but have to work for what they want. This can make them feel out of place in a space with others who people praise as “exceptional”, and being the “ordinary” one is a bit of a sore spot. They can tend to act cocky and confident to disguise their insecurities, again often using humor to help them along. Light blue characters need people who ask for their opinion often, give them proper recognition for their positive traits, and don’t leave them out of important decisions, but also don’t let them take on too much. They need people who will see past their witty barrier and allow them to try and figure out and come to terms with their feelings.

SFW Wednesday So here's some of my SFW friendly headcanons for my ace and ace-spectrum OC: When Nate is sick and/or shivering, Arthur will bring him his giant fluffy battle coat and wrap Nate in it. Then later brings him what I suppose could be considered tea, or what the closest thing is in a post apocalyptic world. Then gives him forehead kisses. In a modern universe, Victor and Danse like to bake cookies together. Nate likes to dress Arthur up in ugly sweaters for the Prydwen Holiday Party every year. Nate calls him "Elder Grumpy Santa". Gareth gets Anders a cat every year to take care of and foster, then give to a child in Tevinter. When Ahnzo has to take off his horn prosthetics, Iron Bull will warm up his aloe/salve before he has to rub it on his chapped skin. Vincente is the one to make a flower crown for Iron Bull. Every morning, Aderyn gives Sebastian a forehead kiss and a flower "For the best Prince of Starkhaven". When Aderyn and Sebastian get back to Starkhaven when she returns from Weisshsupt, he is there at the gates waiting to greet her.

6. How do they handle being apart? Ahnzo and Bull!

Thank you so much for being patient these past couple weeks. I am thankful for the help you’ve offered and the asks you have sent me :) It means a lot.

6. How do they handle being apart?

Ahnzo and Iron Bull “retire” to Kirkwall after the events at the Winter Palace. I use the term retire loosely, Ahnzo no longer works [disbanded the Inquisition] but Iron Bull still has the Chargers and jobs that get thrown their way. So on occasion, Bull will receive a message stating a new job. So they have to gather the boys and head out to meet the contact.

Before they leave, Ahnzo spends the day with Bull. They do anything between sitting at home just lounging around to doing really crazy things down at the Hanged Man. But it always ends up back at home, where they engage in some shall I say… extremely rough sex ;) Rope, spanking, bondage, and rods are what you see most in their secret bedroom!

But the day Bull leaves for a job, there is always that long passionate kiss at the door complete with “I love you, and I will miss you.”

While Bull is away however, lots of letters are exchanged. They contain sentiments of how they are doing and how they’re thinking about one another (they can get really sappy and emotional at times). But of course there is always the sexy letters that get sent out. Ahnzo will describe the things he wants to do to Bull, and what he would want Bull to do to him in return. Things can get pretty steamy in these letters. But the anticipation of waiting for each one is what makes Ahnzo go crazy!

The best part about them being apart is the art they send in letters. The painter that Ahnzo hired for the mansion’s art is also the same painter that draws/paints Ahnzo in the nude. Ahnzo will then send these portraits to Bull. He doesn’t always send them, so it is a complete surprise to Bull when he opens a letter and there is his fully nude boyfriend inside ;)

If the Chargers are staying outside a city, Bull will often go out on the hunt for an artist on a free day to be able to send some drawings and paintings of himself back to Ahnzo.

So basically to cope with being apart, they send one another lots of sexy letters and nudey drawings.

I’m sorry it took so long to answer (I had two deaths in the family and I’m finally back on tumblr and finally back to real life now). I hope you understand :)

You didn’t specify which Ahnzo, so I’ll answer for both!

OC Asks

Ahnzo Shepard - Mass Effect 1-3

11. What animal does your OC relate to?

I had to actually look up the behaviors of several species before deciding on one. I would have to say he is most like a sea turtle!! Starting out, you have sea turtle eggs hatching without their mothers. Ahnzo Shepard did not know his parents as they died before he was born. His childhood (imagine the hordes of sea turtles making their way to the seas and oceans) was spent running with gangs and other orphans and abandoned children.

Getting away from Finding Nemo’s interpretation of a sea turtle, most of them [sea turtles] are extremely solitary creatures that are hard to find and study. When Ahnzo is not out in the field or giving a briefing, he is most likely found in his cabin with Steve or working in the cargo bay taking inventory.

Think of the sea turtle migration similar to that of Ahnzo’s travel throughout the galaxy. He and Steve never actually settle down, they are always living on the Normandy. They can never give it up. They just float around, swimming to all distances of the oceans. Much like Ahnzo and Steve drift through and fly throughout the galaxy.

27. What languages does your OC speak?

Ahnzo is a natural born Italian. When he was found as an infant and was left at an Alliance run orphanage, the mother language of that area was Italian. However, as he grew up, he learned English from his classes and instructors.

With Steve being Latino, Ahnzo is trying his best to learn both Mexican Spanish and Spain Spanish. It is difficult for him as an adult, but he is making great progress.

But his default language is Italian, and only speaks English in reports and official military business.

44. What color eyes does your OC have?

Before his Renegade scars appeared, Ahnzo had deep brown eyes. But with his scars becoming permanent, they now transition between black and red depending on his mood and situation.

50. Does your OC cry easily?

Definitely not :P

However, there are some moments where Ahnzo will get emotional. Such as waking up in the hospital post-war realizing Steve never left his side. He actually does cry when Steve proposes and not just because he proposes. Steve learned and became fluent in Italian while Ahnzo was in a coma, so Steve gives a short talk about how much he loves him and how much he wants to spend his time with Ahnzo. All in Italian.

11. What animal does your OC relate to?

My Adaar doesn’t really relate to any of the animals in Thedas to be completely honest. Although he really loves his Fennecs and his Rams. He used to like Nugs, that is until he realized they’re more of a pest animal and litter all over wherever he lives. He’s got Leliana to thank for that.

27. What languages does your OC speak?

Ahnzo A. grew up speaking the King’s Tongue with his parents in the Free Marches. As far as anyone can tell, he does not have a notable accent or inflection to his voice. However, his father and mother would sometimes speak and teach him some Qunlat. Though they had left Par Vollen, they still wanted their child to be an educated one. So they taught him an unbiased side of the Qunari and their culture.

44. What color eyes does your OC have?

Ahnzo Adaar has mid to bright yellow eyes. They complement his grey-bronze skin tone and reflect the gold in his horns.

50. Does your OC cry easily?

Not in public anyway. But once he’s alone or in a solitary position he will. He grew up being bullied. So he hides his emotions really well. But once he is alone he will either let loose an unfathomable rage or break down emotionally.
