Two New LPs!

Hello! It's about time I get back to streaming, right? I'm having some issues streaming with my Switch at the moment, so I think I'll go back to PC games for now :)

I've selected two games to revive my channel: Alicemare and Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal!

(In case you didn't know, VC is a bootleg translation of Pokemon Crystal. It was actually translated from Chinese to English, but it was allegedly found in Vietnam. The translation is so bad that it's funny, and I've been wanting to do a playthrough of it for a while now.)

The first episode of VC will be streamed tomorrow, on Valentine's Day, though I'm not sure I'll be able to get my model to work. If I have to, I'll stream without one.

Sword Art Online Alicization Asuna -Healing Angel Ver- 1/7 Complete Figure

Look. I can recognize when a figure pretty. This one is very pretty (even tho it is 300 FUCKING DOLLARS). The company who made it? I don’’t recognize estream and i refuse to do any research on them, whether or not they’re part of GSC or another company or a completely new company or what I have no idea. 

Ignoring the price and pretending it is actually $50 after shipping, is the figure really worth the pain of continuing to watch Sword Art Online? No. No it is not. Would I really to put a figure in my home from a show that i dont understand, only to be socially obligated someday to bring people into my home and potentially have some dude bro look at and be like “WHOA I love SOA Haaaa” and then proceed to ask me if I have seen it, thereby engaging me in a conversation about SOA with someone who is a SOA stan? No. That price is too high to pay, for both of us.

It may come as a surprise but I am totally blanking right now on a few of these. More below the cut

R: Red from Pokémon.

Red has always been an enigma for me since I discovered you could fight him in GSC. I had coasted my way through with my beloved starter Pokémon, Typhlosion, but no matter how hard I tried, I could never defeat him. In a way, he became somewhat of a mentor to me by not only pushing me to level 99 through raw exp grinding with him and wild Pokémon, but he taught me just how powerful you could be if you diversified your team. I didn’t beat him until Soul Silver, but I couldn’t help but find it easier. Maybe because his Espeon was replaced by a Lapras and thus he had a x3 electric weakness in his team, maybe it was that all of my Pokémon were diversified and powerful on their own, but he lost his touch. Even getting to him in the World Tournament in BW2 felt easier because he always had Pikachu and he usually picked two of his electrically weak Pokémon. Surely he had gotten weaker

Until Sun and Moon, where he completely blindsided me after I barely managed to survive the trip there. It was like a mirror of my first encounter with him. My starter, Incineroar, was my strongest team member and ripped his way through 4 of his Pokémon, but since he was my only healthy Pokémon, I lost to him, and for the first time I lost a battle in the entire game. When I beat him with a fully healthy team, I went to fight him in the battle tree, and oh my god, I felt the intensity again as I had to strategize a good 3 man team to get past the other trainers BEFORE getting to him. Even then, it was challenging, and I lost so many times before, through sheer luck using my luckiest and best Pokémon, competitive and non, I beat him and obtained the mega stones.

Talk about a comeback. That’s why I like him.

A: Asuna from SAO

Before the pitch forks and torches come after me for still liking SAO, let me be clear: what anime I like is my own business, and it does not hurt you or anyone else. I realize it has flaws but I still like what it does right, which is surprisingly a lot. So kindly can-it.

Anyway, I’ve liked Asuna since her inception. A love interest that isn’t totally useless and actually kicks ass, while still having a personality? Sign me the fuck up. Yeah the Fairy Dance arc wasn’t exactly the kindest to her, but the second season showed her true colors beyond SAO: she wasn’t afraid to demand information about Kirito’s whereabouts from a government agent of all people, and her role in the Mother’s Rosario arc was just… fantastic. We know she’s capable of kicking ass, but the way she settles things with her mother is actually a bit inspiring, and her dynamic with Yuki is still tear jerking. She was able to lead the Sleeping Knights to victory using skills in leadership and combat she honed in SAO, and can be a supportive healer or magic user with skills from ALO, and that to me shows she’s still every bit as amazing as back then, and more.

Plus, from what I’ve read about Ordinal Scale and the Alicization arc, she’s apparently going to even more incredible. Yeah, I don’t like how the games simply treat her as an “option” to a harem of girls, but as a character on her own, she’s still pretty amazing.

J: Jon from TAZ

He wasn’t around for long, but I especially like his dynamic with Merle. The ending and last scene with Jon especially brought a tear to my eye. After everything, I’m glad he had at least one friend in the end.

S: Sonic the hedgehog

I’ve been a fan of Sonic since I was 10, and his cool do-gooder attitude has always been an inspiration to me. His games have brought me joy and adrenaline, even 06, and the way he keeps his head up inspired me to keep mine up when I was younger. Plus his overall design is just a classic, my favorite being his in SA2B with everything equipped. I always dig a new take on his design, and I even kinda dig his Boom design, although he’s supposed to have tan arms and not blue.

In all honesty, his attitude has inspired a few of my characters from my own works, and his series is directly responsible for my learning to draw. That’s why I have such a fondness for him I guess
