They flaked away slowly but surely, driven away by either one of us with time. However, we two alone found each other acceptable company. We understood one another, in ways we were not accustomed to being understood. It formed a foundation sturdy and lasting, as I would hope is evident from our lasting partnership-

He can sleep with whomever he so chooses- and he often does. Let’s start with how you two met

There was a preview to a new Dragon Quest that was exclusive to attendants at a gaming convention 

So Sai definitely had to go! 

Francois and even Ryusui helped him disguise himself so a whole mob of people wouldn’t bombard him 

He stood in line super early like any good fan and was even one of the of the people in the front row

It just so happen that you were sitting right next to him 

While he was waiting for the preview to start, he pulled his phone out and began playing Pokémon Go

“Which team are you on?”

Your voice startles Sai. He looks to his side and sees the most beautiful person he’s ever seen

You show him your screen. “I’m Valor.”

“M-mystic…”

“Dang! Guess that means we’re rivals!” You giggle softly

You mess with your hair, a little embarrassed. “My name’s (y/n).”

When you see his blushing red, nervous face it’s got to be the cutest thing in the world

“S-Sai..” he mumbles.

There’s an awkward silence between the two of you until the show starts, then the both of you get lively 

When you both see your favorite characters and new ones you cheer and clap

What’s the trailer is done you get your stuff to leave

“D-do you w-wanna hunt Pokémon with me?”

And with that you both became close

To Sai’s huge relief you’ve never heard of the Nanami Conglomerate before

You just shake your head

Ryusui puts on this huge extravagant setup so Sai can ask you out, only for Sai to nearly faint from nerves

You accepted either way

Dating Sai can have its ups downs 

If you’re a really outgoing person it’s really hard to get him to go out much.

“Come on Sai let’s go dancing!”

“O-oh…but I’m not that good, so I’ll just ruin your night… it’s alright go without me.”

BUT one thing Sai will quickly take back everything he said if he saw how disappointed you looked

As he said, he is not the best but he really does try

Even though he wants to leave earlier than you’d like, you still can’t deny that you had a good time

I really feel like Sai would like a person who is more indoorsy but not necessarily shy, just quiet (if that makes any sense at all)

His favorite thing to do with you of course is play video games, no matter what game it is 

I also think he’d teach you how to build your own computer 

You get so fascinated by Sai’s enthusiasm. He normally isn’t so talkative or excited but when he’s building computers it’s a while different story 

Of course he’d try your hobbies as well

If you liked to read he’d try some of your favorite books or if you liked to draw he’d do his best to draw you something nice

None of the Nanami’s are cooks💀

But he’d try to learn for you! 

He’d mainly learn the basics though, like eggs💀

Anything else he’ll gladly hand it over to Francois

Sai also doesn’t sleep

You’ll see him on his PC at like midnight 

So you’ll squeeze in on his lap and fall asleep there

It’s honestly his favorite thing in the world

It also encourages him to go to bed because he doesn’t want you to be uncomfortable! So he’ll gently carry you to your shared bed, and as soon as he feels how soft the mattress is he’ll pass out with you

You shouldn’t have to earn people’s love. You’re deserving of all the love in the world.”

*walks up to mikey* “I got you finger paints and glitter!” I whisper “thank you for helping people. Your heart is so so big and beautiful!” *hug*

*walks up to Raph* “and last but never least, I got you a heart-shaped pillow and a friendship bracelet!” I whisper “you can do it. I love your kindness. I appreciate your want to help. You’re doing a great job bringing people and yourself together. Thank you for looking out for your brothers. Don’t worry too much big man.” *hug*

Donnie stares at the large assortment of items in the person's hands, wondering which were for him, and for some of them.... what they even were. The human comes to him first and he tenses, confused as the stranger kneels down to his level. Odd, but Carol does it enough that he isn't completely lost.

“I got you noise canceling headphones and a weighted blanket! I.. I tried my best to get you a book, but they wouldn’t let me.” He stares at the items offered for a moment, then takes them with a small nod. He doesn't really know how to feel about them yet.

He holds the blanket that was covered in small glittering stars in his hands, the weight oddly comforting- Like when his brother hugs him, or the times he would hide under their bean bag. It was familiar. And, after inspecting the other grey object in his hand and connecting it to the words she spoke about "noise canceling", he assumes the soft cushions were meant for his ears. He slowly tested them out- pressing one against his right ear. Determining the effect wasn't painful or uncomfortable, he slid them all the way on.

The sound of Raph and Heishis whispered conversation, of Mikey's excited squealing, and of the humming of the vents was suddenly dulled.

It was.... nice.

He knew he should thank the person, he should be as excited as Mikey who was still squealing by her side.. but he didn't know the human. With the new room, his new "brothers", and everything else that had been happening.... he couldn't bring himself to force a smile or even muster a thank you, though he knew he should.

“you’re doing great. I know it’s a scary situation and there a lot happening right now, but I believe in you. I’m so proud of how well you’ve been handling this change. Please remember it’s ok to be different and feel big emotions or no emotions at all. Don’t let anyone down you for who you are.” She whispers to him.

He still didn't want to talk to the new lady, or smile at her, or thank her. But now he felt a swell of relief flood through him, because that was okay. So, he took the gifts with another nod and found his way to the corner of the room, watching with silent awe as she began to pass out the rest of the gifts.

Heishi watches tensely as the enemy first approaches Donnie, claiming that they had gifts for them. Right, like he would fall for that. This was clearly some scheme to lower their guard- but he was a warrior, not some child who could be so easily swayed.

He noted as Donnie made his way to the corner, blanket and headphones in hand. That left the strange viles, the sword (it was wooden, but with enough force maybe he could.... hmmm no, not yet. Not while still stuck in a locked room...), and a few other softer objects that he couldn't quite make out.

Then, it was with dread he realized that the enemy was approaching him next. His shoulders raised and he showed his teeth, hoping to scare her off. Thankfully, it seemed to work as she stopped a few feet away, bending down and offering the sword to him

“I got you a wooden-play sword (for some reason that was ok for me to give you-) and a unicorn plush!”

... Why would she give him a sword of any kind? UGH! Was he really that unthreatening? Was he really so bad at his one purpose that they would mock him by giving him weapons knowing they could beat him?!

... well he would show HER! He will take that silly play sword and-

“you’re going to be just fine. Just know that you’re enough. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I’m so so SO proud of you. You’re the best fighter I’ve ever seen, you’re amazing! ... well, now it didn't really feel like she was mocking him- maybe she was just crazy.

"Yeah... well, I am the bestest warrior... I don't gotta earn anyone's love, cuz I'm... I'm just that cool. Heh." He stammers, rushing to grab the sword and the other item he hadn't really noticed before.

When he got a safe distance from the enemy, he wasn't exactly sure why he turned his back to the enemy but he just.... couldn't face her. His whole chest felt warm and oozy in a way he wasn't sure was normal.

He shook his head and focused back on the items in his hand.

The sword...

and...

Mikey was bouncing on his feet as he followed the new scientist around the new room. She was so nice- he hoped she would stay forever and ever! Maybe she could convince the scientist to let Carol come back and they could all play together? He squeaked again a the thought.

“I got you finger paints and glitter!” It took a moment for Mikey to realize she was talking to him, to absorbed in his daydreams of introducing her to Carol and George.

He claps his hands together and looks up at the sparkly tubes and jars of color that she held out for him. It felt like Christmas all over again!!

“thank you for helping people. Your heart is so so big and beautiful!”

He was hugging her before she could even finish the sentence, and he couldn't help but chirp with glee as she hugged back!

"Thank you! Ohmigosh!" He pulled away after a moment, taking the jars from her hands and spreading them out around him on the boring brown floor.

After a few moments of struggling against the lids, the vibrant colored jars were now open. He let out a mischievous giggle that turned into a cackle as he made up his mind:

Raph stood awkwardly at the table, watching as one by one his brothers were distracted by the humans gifts. Finally, she turned to him.

“and last but never least, I got you a heart-shaped pillow and a friendship bracelet!”

His tail lightly twitched behind him, unsure if he should be excited or nervous. Pops told him that humans were dangerous to mutants like him but... this one seemed okay... maybe if he asked her nice enough she would take him home?

...no, no... he couldn't tell her where his home was. Dad said he could never, ever, EVER tell anyone where they lived.

But... then how would he get home? He frowned.

He had gotten this far, had found his brothers, had brought them together- even when pops said he that it wasn't possible!

And, now he just had to bust them all out of here!!

He smiled at his new friend, and gave her a toothy grin.

Hi there!! First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUCH A LOVELY MESSAGE waughh you've totally made my day!! 🥺🫶 Always love meeting another fan, and I'm so so touched to hear you enjoy my work! Secondly, I'm very glad you asked this, because it's something I've been thinking about lately. My explanation may be a little complicated, but the short version is that yes, it is still in the works!

The long answer is that progress was going very steady up until February 2023 when my mother passed away, which I believe was also when my K&Z posting slowed down. There's a long story within a long story there, but the gist of it is that I've been in a very bad place ever since then. I can't be sure exactly why the event made me drift from K&Z, but I suspect it was because my mom was so looking forward to seeing my video, and the thought that she never would, well...it really messed with me.

With that being said, I'm handling my grief a lot better these days. While things are still in a state of major uncertainty for a whole host of other reasons, I think I've mostly come to terms with that flavor of discontent. I see the project sitting unfinished in my files and I think about how close I am to being done with it, and I know she'd want me to do it. I want to do it, too! I worked very hard!

I began working on it again for the first time in like two years about two weeks ago. Over an hour of content was already fully edited and ready, it's just my last addendum that I need to work on. I'm hitting another problem now, and that is that a lot of my sources have vanished since I wrote the script, so, frustratingly enough, all I can really offer is a "trust me, bro" for quite a few points! But I think the big ones should still be there.

If anyone takes anything from this, I want it to be that you shouldn't wait to finish things, because you won't be the same person you were when you began. Nonetheless, again, it's only that last part, which I suspect shouldn't be more than likeee...ten minutes long? A drop in the bucket compared to the rest, for sure. Unfortunately it's also the most exciting part x'D Oh well, I'll figure it out!

I do still love K&Z, and I know I always will. I have a lot of requests saved up involving them, and I'd love to draw them when I'm in a better place. When I get depressed, I get art block, so only my biggest hyperfixations manage to barge past every now and again, which is why I've been so inactive in general. Nonetheless, I do check back here every day, so I'm always happy to answer any questions!

I'm gonna have a lot of free-time in April, so I'll try to get some more work on it done then for sure. Hopefully I'll be in a much better place as a whole come summertime. Thank you for the support, it really does make me feel excited for it again!

1: (ALOT OF JARGON WARNING!)

So I mainly edit my Sunshine Suburbia posts using Tumblr on the computer (Aka On my browser, This stuff is impossible on mobile as far as I know…) which allows you to swap from rich text editor (The default, and only option on the mobile app) to HTML (Alot more flexible on what you can do- BUT a headache to look at because it’ll be a GIANT wall of format along with your post’s text)

So once you’ve managed to get the HTML editor up you’ll need a hex code which represents the color you want your text to be- (ex: the code I use for Jevin is #0a01fe). The easiest way to get these is using your art program of choice (In my case, Procreate fw!) and color picking said color and checking the Hexidecimal section on where you pick colors!

You could manually input the HTML coding for colors but I really don’t like looking at HTML code for very long (Augh headache) so I use this text editor https://spacegen.carrd.co/ by another user called luna ! I copy paste the generated code to the Tumblr HTML editor (Usually replacing the text I had put in there, You can also italicize, bolden, etc using the spacegen editor ) and go to preview at the top of the editor and wow volia! More specifically colored text!!

Notes:

- Line breaks / Read mores break when you swap over from Rich Text to HTML but colored text does not break when you switch from HTML to Rich Text.

- Please be aware of what background your text will be seen on… It’s kind of why Wenda’s text isn’t colored on the Sunshine suburbia blog… Can’t guarantee people can read it as not everyone uses a dark bg- Same goes for Black / Tenebrae and some characters having texts slightly off from their actual colors. (Too light on white bgs, Too dark on black bgs…)

2: I’m absolutely fine with people drawing and writing their ocs to fit the Sunshine Suburbia au! Excited even! It’s even how I’d likely handle people interacting with the askblog (NOT THIS BLOG, DO NOT RP WITH THIS BLOG, THIS IS MY PERSONAL ART BLOG!!!! MY THERAPIST WILL HEAR ABOUT YOU IF YOU DO THAT!) as I sort of want to avoid crossovers mostly to keep the setting from getting messy! (I’ll likely detail this in the Visitor guide post on the Sunshine suburbia blog itself)

I’m just not cool with like— Trying to squirm in relationships (Mostly romantic and familial… But knowing someone before/ being friends with them is fine- It doesn’t have as many implications as the latter…) on the characters as they have their own things going on unless they’ve extensively discussed it with me WHICH I highly doubt would happen and alot of the times it doesn’t fit with the AU… But art and writing to fit them into the AU without those previous elements is COOL AND I’D LOVE TO SEE EM- PLEASE TAG ME IF YOU DO THAT!

I’d also try to provide more info about the world in there as the blog goes on to help with that- (Don’t be scared to prod for world building questions in this case… Most are not spoilery but most of the asks on this personal blog are bound to be a bit looser than what I’d give on the actual blog itself)

hiii iskie thanks for asking!! i thought it was really great! a good balance of laughing at the past and some more serious conversations about what being closeted and famous is like. very interesting perspective from dnp!

i really loved seeing all the old phan edits like the wedding theory ones i haven’t seen those in soooooo long but man they were everywhere especially the b&w one of them in suits holding hands and walking. AND THE TATINOF TOUR BED hilarious the pause when i think phil was confirming it was true

i thought the diorama bit at the start was really cool too. i watch pj and sophie occasionally and it always blows me away how talented they are. i really like art and creating things generally and pj and sophie just make perfect content for that just the best combination of making things yourself mixed with interesting creative people.

i think on reflection the gaming channel rebrand makes sense after seeing the tour. it definitely felt like saying some unspoken things and wrapping up the past and moving forward. i wasn’t sure because of how it was advertised/how people talked about it if the focus on parasocial relationships would be overly negative. but i feel like the balance was right for the show

i think overwhelmingly i feel that dnp are both very comfortable now or at least they just seem excited to be doing what they do. dan especially seems a lot more content now. on that note as well it’s very obvious how much dan enjoys performing in terms of being super theatrical so thats fun to watch! and phil always nails the dry aloof kind of humour i think! it was nice to hear from phil how he felt about the hiatus too. honestly it’s interesting that the hiatus gave them that chance to grow individually away from the dnp brand and now we’re returning to what feels like less of a brand version of dnp,,, obviously still a brand but it just feels different now

if they do go ahead with rebranding dapg then im excited to see what that will look like. i love them playing games but honestly i prefer longer game videos over lots of short ones. so if they decide to do other kinds of videos then i won’t mind that at all. im just very curious to know what will be next?

also sidenote i was impressed by how many viewers the afterparty had! i know dnp have said before they didn’t expect the big reaction their return got but i think they underestimate how many people grew up watching them. there’s so many casual dnp watchers or people who stopped keeping up with them. so im interested with the rebrand if that will bring any of that part of the audience back

Yeah, Salt Voice generally has the most to say out of all the voices.

Oh, no, not at all. They just talk a lot. It's refreshing. The only two voices who are ever super rude are Vex Voice and The Other Voice- and also Last Voice, I think. I haven't seen The Other Voice in a long time though, and Vex Voice has left, I think.

Okay, um, about your questions:

Being a demon is just normal for me, just like being a... Voice, I guess, is normal for you, or being a human is normal for Owen.

I do have Voices! They're mostly pretty kind to me. I think I share some Voices with Owen, actually. Some others two.

I don't remember a ton from before the maze, but what I do remember is really... muffled, I guess. I remember fishing, and a village, but that's kinda standard. I remember a war, I think? There's not a whole ton.

How do I cope with everything that happened... uh, I just... don't think about it much, I guess? I just kinda vibe. Pretend that everything is fine! It works for the most part.

Do I regret pulling the lever. I don't think I want to answer that question.

I miss a shit ton of people. I miss all my friends from the clearing who threw me under the bus as soon as they found out I pulled that lever. It really is true that everyone betrays you eventually.

Oh yeah plenty of them tbh lol

My hottest take? Honestly? I’m super disappointed in how cruel people were to people with Tech Lives theories on this damn site. Not just in the way that I’m sad about *gestures to everything* but I have seen some really nasty takes and have blocked people over them even though they were never directed at me. It shows me who you are when you’re cruel to a stranger over simply *checking my notes* wanting their favorite character to be alive. Some people in the Star Wars fandom are mean as hell. Maybe it’s because I’m fandom old (mid 20s) so I’ve been around for over a decade in fandom spaces but I can say that Star Wars fans can be really really mean compared to other fandoms. That’s more of a problem on reddit (never again) but it happens on tumblr and twitter (which I don’t have any longer but have heard… stories.) My little corner is GREAT. No complaints about this little corner I’ve found myself in but every time I venture out I see some shiiiiiiiiit and it takes me a minute to remember that this fandom can be really volatile. This is supposed to be fun. I say my piece, I agree or disagree with other people’s piece. Then I move on. I won’t argue. It ain’t my style. I get really upset when I see people being downright nasty to each other over fandom stuff. Stop it.

Also. Listen. I started in the Teen Wolf and Merlin fandoms in high school. There’s a lot of great stuff to use from those shows but canon was rarely awesome. I got used to letting the fandom do the work, fans shipping everything under the sun, and making up wild plotlines that wouldn’t actually make sense because who even knows what’s going on in the actual show anymore. Fandoms are wild and I like different opinions and different content and everything coming together in a way that is both weird and wonderful. Sometimes people want the entire fandom to like exactly what they like and get really aggressive with other fans over it. That is not my vibe. If I see something I don’t like then it isn’t for me and I move on! Enough said.

Instead of moving on, blocking tags, or blocking users many fans straight up call people names! Start arguments! Post cruel things! It’s stupid! I’ll say it, it’s stupid as hell! Just block shit, man! You can’t control other people. Protect your peace and block stuff you don’t like. I promise it’ll feel better <3

31. What other Star Wars characters (regardless of the timeline) do you think would be BFFs with each Batcher?

(This’ll be fun bc I know very little of the greater Star Wars Universe so some of these are based just on ✨vibes✨)

Omega and Leia Organa! I loved the Kenobi show and I just think these two would get along SO DAMN WELL.

Hunter and…. I’m going to be honest I thought about this over night and I STILL can’t pick somebody. I need to watch more Star Wars

Tech and Luke Skywalker. Flying! Ships! Podracing! This is the only thing I know of Luke Skywalker! They’d bond over this and make ships go faster together so they’d be besties.

Crosshair and Merrin. In the way that I think he’d look at her like she hung the moon and the stars because she’s so cool and she’s scary and Crosshair appreciates intimidating people and would want to see all of the things she can do with her magic even though he’s kind of terrified of her. (I’m projecting, I love Merrin.)

Echo and Cal Kestis. This is an inspired choice, I feel. Cal has a really big connection to protecting people and Echo WOULD LOVE to work with him to protect people from the Empire (play Jedi: Fallen Order 👀)

Wrecker and Chewbacca. Wrecker really thrived in that episode with the wookiees and I think he’d have a great time with Chewbacca.

49. What has been your favorite part about being in the fandom?

All of my friends!!! I’ve made a lot of great friends in the past two years and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s not very easy for me to make friends, if I’m being honest, so having friends that I talk to about the clones and star wars and fic ideas means a lot to me. It is the ultimate draw for me. I love talking to people about things I love, hearing everyone’s opinions, seeing everyone write and create art and do deep dive analysis. I love seeing people run role play blogs and come up with ask games. I love love love the fun parts of fandom just existing. Seeing people get excited about ideas and share them with others and create gifs and have fun. That absolutely has my heart. We’re all just here trying to express ourselves and that is something I think gets overlooked sometimes. This is something we do in our free time. We’re here because we want to be, not because we have to be. It’s a beautiful thing, to find connection over a shared love of something, and I love that. It’s kind of the same thing I love about concerts. Concerts are a unique place where it’s acceptable to have big emotional reactions with other people over the shared love of the music being played for you. For one night you aren’t just a fan of a band standing in a room listening to some people sing at you. You’re a part of the crowd, experiencing a million different emotions all in the same moment but not one of you is feeling the exact same way as the person next to you. It’s a wonderful thing to experience. This fandom, my little corner of it at least, feels about the same. We’re all experiencing life differently, different day to day things, different upbringings, different opinions, likes, and dislikes. But we’re all here, watching the same thing, and coming away with different emotions and opinions.

I think that’s beautiful.

Your favorite movie released this year

Five Night's at Freddy's!! I honestly only got into the games a few years ago, but I absolutely loved them and became super obsessed with it. I watched a ton of lore videos and playthroughs of the games, so it was really nice to understand all the references. I thought it was such a nice love letter to its fans but also a really interesting and new story for everyone. Josh Hutcherson was fantastic in the movie, and I loved the tone of the movie. Really awesome. I realize now that it was only the second ever movie I've seen Josh Hutcherson star in (and no, the first one wasn't The Hunger Games; it was Journey 2: The Incredible Island)

5. A movie musical you like

I honestly haven't seen many live-action movie musicals. Of those, I would have to say Grease. Of animated ones (which I've much more though still not many in general), I would definitely say Mulan. Love the songs in that movie, especially "I'll Make a Man Out of You". Was very excited when I found out that Mulan was voiced by Ming-Na Wen (whom I've watched in Agents of Shield).

11. A movie you wish you could un-watch

Ooo that's a difficult one. I'd say it's a tie between Gone Girl and Green Room. I didn't particularly enjoy either movie; it was more like I couldn't tear my eyes away even if I wanted. Green Room is, without exaggeration, the goriest and most violent movie I've ever seen. I've seen a lot of violent movies like John Wick and had little to no problem with the gore, and also I'm a whumper! I love violence! But Green Room was... wow. A lot. Pretty disturbing content in general. Gone Girl I just didn't like. I was so annoyed by the characters that I was honestly just upset the whole time. Its one redeeming quality was the minor side character played by an actor I had seen in one House MD episode and loved. Yes, I'm serious lmao

Mulan! Lol! Some other ones I love are The Adventures of Tintin, Ratatouille, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, and Into the Spiderverse!

everyone being SO excited about my Toothless cosplay on Thursday?!? that i just put on on a whim... but everyone was so sweet and kept telling me it looked amazing and they loved it and it made me so happy !! they all got so excited when i brought out the baby nightlights too.....we all love a baby dragon

the little $5 hoshina sketch commission i got on thursday?! he's a perfect boy....... thank u random girl who did a $5 sketch commission for me, i appreciate you very much...... 🫶

zooming into artists' alley on friday morning to ask my favorite artist for 3 (!!) commissions and in the process she ended up being like "well i only have one slot left now" and me going "i mean if you're super sure you don't mind, i'll just gladly take that one too" LMAO and wiping out all her commission slots within like 15 minutes of artists' alley being open HAHAHA

i got two of my commissions during con and the other two she will mail to me later but the two i got already are!!!! perfect!!!!!!!!!!!! my little jinshi and senku!!!!!! perfect boys!!!!!!! they're so CUTE!!!!!! she really gets me and draws my favorites so perfectly every time!!!!!! i love her

getting one (1) chonky little kaiju no 8 blind box figure, loving him very much, and then going back the next day and asking them if i can just get the full box set and the vendor being like "aw yeAH LET'S CUT YOU A DEAL" lol honestly SO glad i did bc i LOVE my chonky little beans

i don't even fully remember how, i think it was via twitter, but one of the guests (JP Yates) just knows me now, has known me for years, and always says hi when he sees me and stuff. like his kids know me, his son kept finding me at con last year and saying hi, i'm just like pals with his whole family somehow?! anyway he was MC-ing the concert on friday and we chatted before the show and he got me to take pics of him on stage for his ig and it's just fun for me that i'm like friends with a guest i guess?! anyway i also went to one of his panels on saturday which was v fun and i left after and then came back bc i was like "no i need to get a pic with him if i'm getting pics with all my other favorite guests" so i went back and he was still talking to someone else BUT there was another guest in the room (Yoyo) and she was SO cute, i was in my Maomao cosplay and she asked me for a picture and told me she loved Apothecary Diaries (same girl same) and said my wig looked perfect and i looked so good and that she'd seen a lot of Maomaos at con but that i was the BEST Maomao and that i looked like i'd just stepped out of the anime and i just jfeiwoaf :')))))) made me feel so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then JP Yates came over and he was like "yeah her cosplays are always top notch" like ?!? guys stop being nice to me i can't handle it jfeiwaofjewa

oh my god the jacabal's being SO sweet to me the whole weekend honestly whenever they saw me but after the concert on friday when i went over they were all like "sarah!!!!!" and happily signed my badge for me (side note, since they don't do autograph panels anymore, it's fully possible that i was the only person at con with jacabal's autographs and extra possible that i was the only person at con with a jacabal's-autographed badge, i love life) and then i didn't want to take up more of their time and ask for a pic but then THEY were like "picture??? :D" so pics with my favorite people!!!!!!!!!!! screams!!!!!!!!!

omg Miharu then messaging me on ig friday night and asking me if she could send the videos i took of them during the concert to the team and i was like "of course!!" and then her asking me to email them to her so i did and then on saturday after their workshop she came up to me and was like "thank you so much for yesterday!!! thank you thank you!!!!" like ?! she's adorable. thank YOU miharu sensei 🥺 and me getting more pics on saturday after their workshop too!!!!!! one day.......one day i will be brave enough to participate in the workshop........but i also just like watching bc i love them :'))))) it's the same thing every year but i just love them i will go anyway :')))))))

i didn't go to the big (very long) concert on sunday bc i wanted time to shop and just wander around so i didn't see the jacabal's then BUTTTTTT i was getting an end-of-con pic in the lobby and i saw them coming down the stairs to leave the convention center and smiled and waved and they waved back and we went outside and i started to get out stars to give to them (bc i was umbreon and giving stars to everyone that day) and they got SO excited when i handed them the stars when they came outside and then AGAIN jigoroh was like "PICTURE!!" and they were all "every day sarah!! picture!!!!!!" like they were SO cute about it, i always get nervous that i'm annoying them when i ask for pics and stuff so much but it makes me feel so special when they do things like this for me!!!! i love them!!!!!!!

also umbreon was a POPULAR one LOLOLOL i had so many guests ask ME for photos that day?!? one in the hotel in the morning, then Someta Hayashiya asked me for a pic, JP Yates asked me for a pic (he was like "gotta get a pic with you in this cosplay too!!" lol), then Toshifumi Yoshida, the literal Animation Localization Manger for The Pokemon Company, who has been working for Pokemon for 15 years, ASKED ME FOR MY PHOTO. SAID THAT I WAS THE BEST POKEMON COSPLAY AT CON. THAT THERE WERE SO MANY BUT MY UMBREON WAS GREAT. the lady with him was even like “you got the nose and everything!! oh it’s just perfect!!” like hello?!?!?! i am CRYING!?!?! HELLO!?!?!?!

so many guests got to take home paper stars from me because of this i cry :'))))

Toshifumi Yoshida also saw my Maomao on saturday and told me i looked great that day too :')))))) look my cosplay being validated by guests is such a good feeling i can't fjewaiofawe

Skipbeat being so cute and taking pictures with me every day too and being all excited to see me and ask about my cosplays and stuff :'))) they were doing a popularity contest thing where if you bought a shirt you also got a pin and you got to pick a color pin associated with each member. i picked pink for Natsu bc she hadn't been in ages and Shun (who is MARRIED to Natsu) seeing it on saturday when i was getting them to sign the shirt and being like "PINK!?! WHY PINK!! MY COLOR ORANGE!!!!" like mans i am trying to support your wife XDDD

on sunday skipbeat did autographs after the show even though it wasn't on the schedule and i was like "aw shit i don't have anything for them to sign today" but i still wanted to ask for a picture and give them stars so i was standing there waiting for everyone else to go (it worked out, i got them to sign paper they had on the table) but i let them sign and Yu is first in line and after he signs i hold out my hand and he's like "???" and i'm like "for you!" and drop the two little stars (everyone got yellow and black for umbreon) in his hand and he was just immediately gasping and "!!!!!!" like absolutely ENTHRALLED with them and Kohei was next so i did the same and when he got stars he and Yu were both like "!!!!!!! LOOK!!!!" and "WHAT???" then me being like "paper stars!!" and then being like "PAPER STARS!!!" oh my god i love them they were all so excited about them :')))

and getting the pic with them after and shun holding the little stars up and acting goofy during it oh i love them

also shun and natsu bringing their 6 month old baby aimi!!! she was PRECIOUS!!!! friends and i were sitting outside closing ceremonies just talking and Shun comes by with baby Aimi and he stops to show her off to me and my friend and let us coo over how precious she was in her little outfit, he was so proud of her, and like he totally COULD have just kept walking past us with no acknowledgement that we were there and i wouldn't have bugged him, but he went out of his way to come over and show her off?! and, not to be mean or anything, but i'm the one they know, not my friend, bc she doesn't go to their shows much or interact with them or anything, so like.......he came over bc of me mostly i think and i just?!?! thank u shun 🥺🥺

like honestly i've been having a rough few years and i've been SO exhausted this year and i went into con feeling probably more down than usual but looking back.....the guests really do just make me feel so special??? them interacting with me at con, interacting with me on ig, remembering me from year to year........it's so special, i can't believe how sweet they are to me sometimes 🥺🥺😭

a lot of people told me my Anna on friday was v cute, had a LOT of people complement my Maomao (especially my Maomao wig, which i appreciated so much bc i spent too many hours on it lmao), lots of people love the Umbreon!!

also i got to rescue TWO people at con this year.....twice i had come up and ask me if i had a pad bc they started their periods and didn't have anything and i got to save the day and give them one, my Convention Survival Kit truly saved the day AW YEAH

i wasn't originally gonna go to the pokemon photoshoot on sunday bc idk i was just gonna meet up with friends but a bunch of pokemon cosplayers saw me and were like "you're coming right??? UMBREON PLS COME TO SHOOT!!!!!" it was so cute, i was summoned heehee it was v hot outside in the sun in the all-black and thick layers but it was a lot of fun, i like being with other people cosplaying from the same thing i am!!!

i also loved going around con and going up to every Maomao i saw and going "i like your Maomao!!" and them turning and seeing that i was also Maomao and them going "i like YOUR Maomao!!" HAHA i love finding cosplay twins!!!! it's so cute and wholesome!!!!!!

I did not expect this movie to be like....as empathetic and timeless as it is. this movie is a masterpiece, highly recommend--the story is great, its treatment of ability is very compelling, and the camerawork is some of the best i've ever seen PERIOD

Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933)

this movie is a lot of fun! the humor in it feels very modern and the characters are enjoyable in a way i don't really expect of movies from this era (yes, even pre-code movies like this one). also there's some jabs in here abt the depression that relate to food that are very funny retroactively ("who eats meat anymore?" and re: them stealing a bottle of cow's milk 'they already stole it from the cow')

Lisa Frankenstein (2024)

this movie is SO indulgent of the weird girl fantasy and i LOVE IT FOR THAT!!!!!! i do love a movie that says "you know that thing you cannot and SHOULD NOT have in the real world that other movies make a point of reiterating??? NOT US!!!!" yeah lisa have ur zombie boyfriend and kill everyone. go nuts

Monkey Man (2024)

this movie was just like...overall not my style but i did enjoy it! i think dev patel did a great job with it and picked a really important story to tell. also kid is a great character

Saving Face (2004)

I really liked the interconnection of plots here! I think this movie could have been EITHER abt Wil being gay or Hwei-Lan being pregnant but putting it all together makes something really special. felt like an ode to the messiness of being human and the joy of that messiness

i went back to watch wano after catching up (im like halfway through the arc) and genuinely the animation is so good!! (its also rly funny because they made zoro super sexy at every opportunity.. they upped his fanservice by a million. i love it. as a zoro fan.) its probably worth it to watch the anime for that part if ur interested?? although the pacing is still super slow so it might be better to read the manga first and THEN watch wano if ur still hyperfixated on one piece at that point. i went back to wano cuz i was feeling sad about being caught up and not having any more content to consume.

ive seen clips of the fights and they look so fantastic and cool and hype and AGH . i havent gotten to any big fights yet but its been a lot of fun seeing the characters all colored and .. moving. its also kind of sad to watch though cuz you can TELL some of the voice actors are really struggling. my love franky.. i love his voice acting but he sounds so rough in wano :((. his is probably the most obvious example but if u pay attention u can tell with most of the voice actors who've been doing the show for a long time.

i havent watched the live action because netflix sucks (i dont live with the account owner currently and i HAVE TO if i want to use netflix) but i have seen how many people have gotten into one piece bc of it, and i have seen a lot of clips. and i know people love it and its very highly regarded. (also i kinda love what they did with sanji (i miss his twirly eyebrows though 😭)) so i have a lot of respect for it despite never watching it myself!! im also so excited for "the one piece" bc even though i know next to nothing about it, if its adapting this wonderful universe full of lovable characters in a way that actually HELPS the manga rather than HURTS it.. well. how could i complain.

i DO think u got into one piece at a really good time!! ive heard a lot of "if you want to get into one piece, this is your last chance" and "now is the best time to start one piece" and i think theyre right. although hearing its your "last chance" is kind of anxiety inducing personally LOL. i think itll be really difficult to avoid spoilers after the series ends though so in that sense.. theyre probably correct. at the pace youre going i dont think one piece will end before you catch up. oda's on a 3 week break right now too so imo you have plenty of time!! i think wano is about 150 chapters and theres a LOT going on so it might take you a while, but this is the final SAGA not the final arc dont worry!! im picturing the straw hats visit at least 2 more islands after the current arc. although obviously im not oda so i have no idea if thats accurate LOL

i think no matter what im gonna feel like i have questions unanswered when one piece ends, just cuz i am so insanely invested in . the whole world of one piece. i want to know everything about everything. but i DO think oda will answer the big questions, and i agree that he probably wont just leave us wondering. the newest arc is already kind of answering a lot of questions (and... developing MORE mysteries LMAO)

i hope i didnt make you feel like its WRONG to like sanji bc it isnt!! just cuz i cant get behind him doesnt mean that i think people who like him are bad people or anything remotely like that. i mean. i love doflamingo. and hes an AWFUL person. i hate his guts... but i love him. hes such an interesting character and i want to dissect him and analyze him and . i love to think about him. and hes comforting in some weird way.

so u loving sanji is no issue!! i dont want u to feel like u have to defend urself (although i DO like hearing ur reasoning behind why you like him because its interesting, and it makes me think harder about how i feel about him).

also personally i dont see an issue with consuming media that is problematic in some ways. if the creator is a bad person i think its fine as long as ur not excusing their actions!! i would kind of rather not support oda because i dont like him as a person (which is a personal decision, im not gonna criticize people who support him financially), but i do LOVE one piece and yes. his biases DO affect the story.. but since i dislike oda i usually say "fuck the word of god" and do what i want with the characters. i think its a lot more fun that way!!

sanji is such a mess (affectionately) so i can definitely see the appeal!! half the reason i love one piece characters so much is bc theyre all so SILLY. so unbearably silly. they all have stupid moments, they all have funny moments, and i adore silly people. my dislike for sanji is, mostly, resentment borne out of my intense hatred for being pushed into a box by society. it is almost purely personal. like yes him being a pervert is disgusting and annoying and i hate it, but i think i would be able to ignore it if i didnt feel so personally attacked??? by him?? LOL. i think thats kind of silly tbh . i would usually be able to brush his pervertedness off as a flaw of oda's rather than something to blame sanji for. but since i already have some ... *intense* feelings towards him, the pervert thing just serves to fuel my anger.

but all of that is just My Personal Feelings about him!! i do love him in headcanon/fanon most of the time, and even if i hate him in canon i still also love him purely because hes a straw hat and i love and adore all of the straw hats. they feel like real people to me. and i am obsessed with them. i root for them at any chance and i believe they will find the one piece... if they werent the main characters and therefore guaranteed to find the one piece i would still believe in them 1000%!! <- big nerd thing to say .

also one thing i wanted to ask u about is if u noticed the parallels during whole cake island between sanji taking luffy food and the flashback of sanji taking sora food?? i LOVED that moment. he runs through the rain, has to try to keep a dog from eating the food, and when he finally gives it to the person its all soggy and wet and he apologizes. but they say its delicious. and they smile. i KNOW he was thinking of his mom at that moment with luffy. and i just... ugh.. sanji . sobbing . maybe u talked about rhis and i just missed it but I NEED to know that u saw it.. my favorite sanji lover

YEA THE VOICE ACTORS MANNN 😭 I prefer the dub bc i actually like everyone’s voices and its what im used to (except luffy, i do prefer sub for him) but i know the og voice actors are getting up there in age…Part of the reason i don’t like the sub as much is bc you can tell the VA’s are way older than the characters they’re voicing and it’s just a bit. Odd (as much as i love the VAs and obvi it’d be weird to change it at this point)

netflix does suck !!!! i was living with my bro at the time so i watched it on his account but yea i dont have access to watching it anymore either :( taz skylar my fucking beloved. The live action cast is all insane. Theyre so cute and funny every single one of them. If u have extra time u should watch all the funny cast videos they did on youtube where they play charades and do little prompts together. The clips of them interacting at cons and out doing promo for the show is usually pretty cute too. Opla wasnt perfect or necessary but it was fun as hell and u can tell the showrunners had a passion for the show.

And coming off of that DUDE I LOVE DOFFY. I watch a lot of melonteee on youtube and even before i was anywhere near doffy they had me on the doflamingo train. He is so insane and weird and downright evil. i drew him one time 😶‍🌫️My last big fandom back in like 2014-2017 was JJBA and my favorite character as Dio and let me tell you. The similarities between their characters is insane (oda / araki crossover event when,) 

The only difference is that doffy is written to be downright evil, while sanji is supposed to be seen in a good/humorous light even though his worst jokes are uh. Not great joke material (momoiro island and all of sanji’s weirdest pervert gags appears behind me). Thanks oda 👍i still get what ur saying though!

And tbh i dont blame you at all for disliking his (or any) character for personal reasons. Its really not that silly. Having recently discovered i might be kinda trans does not do his bits any favors lmao. And as an afab person who hates gender roles and sexism with a burning passion (and almost minored in WGS) BELIEVE ME the treatment of women in one piece pisses me off in a personal way all the damn time. The Purple Orangutang

(What I'm about to describe is a real dream with no exaggeration.)

I once had a dream in which I was driving down the highway towards a Home Depot in the middle of nowhere early in the morning. I was going there to meet an old friend by the name of Greg, a friend I hadn't seen since high school, some seven years ago. He was the manager of the order pick-up and delivery department, and I was excited to meet him and shoot the shit to catch up on old times.

I remember arriving at the store and walking into it, and something felt off. The entire interior felt exactly the same as the retail store where I worked at the time. Menards. Layout and everything were perfect, but instead of the vomit green that Menards had, everything was that orange color Home Depot uses for their branding. I remember wandering the store perfectly despite having never been in there, and eventually I found my way in the back yard of the store, Greg nowhere in sight. Behind the store, there was this grassy hill, the top of which was lined with tall grass and cattails; beyond that, there was a clean pond overlooking an abandoned gothic mansion.

I don't know why, but I was compelled to go to that hill. I should also note that, despite arriving here in the morning, it was now evening, and the sun was setting. As I climbed the grassy hill, I sat down on the top, peered through the tall grass and cattails, and watched as the geese swam about in the pond.

When I noticed the purple orangutang taking a seat next to me, I was surprisingly not bothered nor confused by its presence. When the orangutang spoke to me in fluent English, I listened intently as it began to ask me about my life and how I was doing.

I told the purple orangutang that I was lonely, that I didn't have many friends, and that I didn't like my job. At the time, I was driving 30 minutes to my retail work every day, and every day I was constantly being screamed at by my boss, taken advantage of by my coworkers, and abused by customers.

So, the Purple Orangutang asked me a hard-hitting question: "Why don't you just quit?"

I was stunned by this. I tried to tell the ape that it wasn't that easy and that I'd need to find another job.

Yet it simply said, "Yes, it is. If what you're doing now is making you miserable and you're burning more gas than you make in a day, shouldn't you just quit and try to at least improve upon your life by getting another job?"

Once again, I was stunned by this. The purple-ape thing was right. So, I asked it about my loneliness problem, to which the ape told me that it couldn't exactly help me there. He told me that was something I could only solve myself. Though it did give me ideas, such as starting a D&D campaign and inviting people.

I don't recall exactly what happened next. Though I vaguely remember the ape pointing to the mansion and telling me that if I wanted to try to improve my life, I could perhaps search for my ideas in the mansion. So, I got up and went to it. I don't recall what happened next after I went into that mansion, but what I do know.

In real life, I quit my job a week later and got a phone call from my current company, which I work for, asking if I wanted a job. Now I work remotely and am pretty happy with what I do.

I also started a D&D campaign and made a lot of new friends. I still feel lonely sometimes, but now I have people I can talk to.

So, I thank the Purple Orangutang every day for helping me. If you're ever feeling down in your dreams and you see a Purple Orangutang, talk to him; he's a super nice guy and is willing to help you out.

I also decided to search up the Purple Orangutang on the website "Dream Journal" and learned that apes in dreams are a sign of sexually repressed urges....
