Harry is butthurt he wasn't mentioned in the book on 200 exceptional Sandhurst cadets so he reportedly is going to get another paid-for-award for "Living Legends of Aviation." I kid you not. Royal Reporter Robert Jobson said on True Royalty TV that Harry "was a gunner" and "never flew" an Army helicopter during his 10 year service. Harry is a fraud. It's sickening to see how much Royal PR went into shaping him as a cheeky lad when he couldn't pass anything in school or in the Army on his own.
Hi Nonny,
I've just been looking at old articles to try and determine exactly what Harry's status was when it came to flying, and the PR spin is amazing. The BRF PR definitely pushed the 'Hero Harry' angle. I don't blame people for falling for it at the time as it was very well done. It is enlightening, to say the least, to go back and look at those articles now.
I have heard multiple times that Harry never flew an Army helicopter for active service (he only flew or pretended to fly around the base for PR clips). I think this is true.
This is a quote from a Feb 2012 article that I found:
"Previously, the prince has hinted of his wish to return to Afghanistan after his first tour of duty was cut short.
Last April, he [Prince Harry] suggested it would be pointless to train as a helicopter pilot if he never served.
"I'd just be taking up a spare place for somebody else if they didn't have me going out on the job, " he said."
So he was taking digs at his brother even back then (Prince William qualified as a Search and Rescue pilot in Sept 2010 with the RAF, but he was not allowed to serve in active combat).
Harry's arrogance was and is astounding when you know that the only reason he got into Sandhurst was because of his grandmother (and imo they only passed him on the course for the same reason). As you said, he entered and (allegedly) passed his exams because of his connections, not on merit. Yet he thinks he is a Living Legend of Aviation. There are no words to describe that level of ego.
*
Article that has the quote - notice the difference between the headline and the actual facts in the article (the headline has Harry as an Apache pilot, the article mentions him as a co pilot gunner).

Hey Cosmica. It's me again. I had this one in the back of my mind for a while now. Here's the scenario:
The alliance OC trio, the veteran, the mimic trio, the matriarchs (the female trio & the brave duo), & the large trio by some coincidence are on a scouting mission together. They then have to deal with a platoon of Skibidi Toilets that attack them. They fight back very well until some larger toilets come in. Before the TVs of the squad were about to teleport them all out, they're suddenly saved by a Camera Apache Helicopter that flies in at full speed, launching missiles & firing off its machine guns at the toilets, destroying a large portion of them whilst dodging any incoming attacks gracefully & expertly, before the remaining toilets attempt to scamper away before the large squad catches & flushes them. The chopper then lands to the ground & guess who comes out of it? That's right, it was non other than their resident human! Turns out, they had sneakily taken an instruction manual to learn how to fly the Alliance's flying vehicles & found it to a breeze first try because the controls were quite simple. How would they all react to this?
P.S: Sorry if this is too long.
Camron was surprised from the sudden assistance that they got from such a skilled driver of that appache helicopter, but the moment the coast is clear and the helicopter lands, color him surprised when the HUMAN of all people hops out of it. Then, he swoons as hard as he can within reason. The human...by the titan they are amazing. DJ was stunned from the two surprises they got in a few short minutes, first a massive skibidi assault...the next--a helicopter showdown that puts most pilots to shame! However, he wasn't expecting a third surprise...it was the human driving! Wow...you're so freaking AWESOME human! (Dances happily) Vee was concerned the moment they all got surrounded by the enemy. If things got ugly, they would all surely get destroyed! But then, just as he was getting ready to abort the mission and pull his companions out of there, when a rain of gunfire hails from the sky. Watching the helicopter masterfully dodge the bullets and missiles being launched at it impressed him...even more so when the battle was won and the HUMAN of all individuals steps out. Did...did his core just skip a cycle?? The Veteran was prepared to fight to the death out here when the sound of the sky lighting up with gunfire and a rouge helicopter comes flying in and assist the ground troopers with such grace. It impressed the veteran as he watches the helicopter rip through skibidi units and demolish their assault. However, the moment victory was certain and the helicopter lands, color him surprised that the HUMAN of all individuals hops out. He gives them a brief scolding about their secretive ways of flying helicopters...but then gives them a hug. He's never been prouder of his trainee than this moment here and now. (ACK--I can't fit anymore or Tumblr will refuse to post this ask. I have a limited threshold I can work with! So I hope the main trio and the veteran are good enough! <: ( )

Apache RR 310 Top Speed: How Fast Can the RR 310 Really Go?
Tumblr media
The TVS Apache RR 310 stands as one of the most energizing and well-engineered sportbikes in India’s sub-400cc category. Built in collaboration with BMW Motorrad, it carries the DNA of execution and accuracy designing. But for numerous bicycle devotees and execution searchers, one address stands out—how quick can the Apache RR 310 truly go?
Powered by a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor, the Apache RR 310 conveys 34 PS of control at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. Combined with a 6-speed gearbox and a race-tuned shoe clutch, the bicycle offers smooth equip shifts and ideal execution in both city and thruway conditions.
In terms of beat speed, the Apache RR 310 best speed is formally claimed to be 160 km/h. In any case, real-world tests by riders and specialists recommend that the RR 310 beat speed can run from 158 km/h to 165 km/h, depending on components such as rider weight, street conditions, wind resistance, and tire pressure.
The bike’s streamlined fairing, trellis outline, and Michelin Street 5 tires contribute to its solidness at tall speeds. Also, the incorporation of four ride modes—Urban, Rain, Don, and Track—allows riders to open the bike’s full potential, with Track Mode being the most appropriate for apache rr 310 top-speed runs.
Even at higher speeds, the Apache RR 310 offers commendable adjust, compelling braking with dual-channel ABS, and amazing street grasp. Whether you’re an beginner racer, a thruway cruiser, or a end of the week rider chasing thrills, the RR 310 conveys a top-speed execution that’s really elating for its segment.
In conclusion, the Apache RR 310 not as it were looks fast—it lives up to its notoriety. With a best speed touching 160+ km/h, it offers an extraordinary mix of execution, fashion, and ordinary convenience.

Best Deals on Pre-Owned Bikes in Bangalore
You have come to the right place if you're in Bangalore and want a safe ride that won't break the bank.  Used bikes are a good choice for commuting to work, going on weekend trips, or even for your first time riding a two-wheeler.  However, there are many places to buy used bikes in Bangalore. Where can you find the best deals?
Tumblr media
Welcome to Beepkart, your one-stop shop for brand-new, high-quality bikes at amazing prices.
Why Pre-Owned Bikes Make Sense in Bangalore
Bangalore has terrible traffic, and it can be hard to get around in a car.  Bikes get you around town faster, use less gas, and are much more useful than cars.  But why buy a brand-new bike when a used one will do the same thing for half the price?
Here are some solid reasons to consider a pre-owned bike:
Affordability: You get more value for your money.
Lower Insurance Premiums: Used bikes usually come with lower insurance costs.
Less Depreciation: New bikes lose value quickly. Used ones? Not so much.
Good Variety: From commuter bikes to premium models, there’s something for everyone.
Beepkart – Your Trusted Partner for Used Bikes
We think that buying a used bike should be just as fun and safe as buying a new one here at Beepkart.  Our team checks each bike carefully to make sure it is of good quality, works well, and is safe.
Because of these factors, Beepkart is the best spot in Bangalore to buy used bikes:
Fully Inspected & Certified Bikes
Each bike goes through a comprehensive 100+ checkpoint inspection. That means you don’t have to worry about hidden issues or unexpected breakdowns.
Transparent Pricing
We show you the full cost upfront – no last-minute surprises. What you see is what you pay.
3-Day Return Policy
Changed your mind? No problem. Beepkart offers a 3-day return window for complete peace of mind.
1-Year Warranty
Most of our bikes come with a one-year warranty, so you’re covered if anything goes wrong.
Financing Options Available
Low on budget? Beepkart offers easy EMI options, making it even easier to own the bike you want.
Popular Second-Hand Bikes You Can Find on Beepkart
Whether you're looking for a commuter bike, a sporty ride, or a scooter, Beepkart has it all. Some top-selling models include:
Honda Activa & Dio – Perfect for daily commutes.
Bajaj Pulsar Series – Stylish, powerful, and affordable.
TVS Apache – Loved by performance seekers.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 – For those who crave a retro feel with modern reliability.
Yamaha FZ – A balanced mix of power and mileage.
Each of these bikes is available in different years, colors, and variants—so you're sure to find something that fits your style and budget.
How to Buy from Beepkart?
Getting your hands on your dream pre-owned bike has never been easier:
Browse Online: Visit Beepkart.com and explore available models with real-time availability.
Book a Test Ride: Choose a convenient time for a test ride, either at home or at a Beepkart hub.
Make Your Choice: Love it? Complete the paperwork online or offline.
Get It Delivered: Beepkart delivers the bike to your doorstep, fully serviced and ready to ride!
Final Thoughts
Bangalore is seeing a lot more people buy used bikes, which is a good point.  Shops that sell used bikes that are sketchy or ads that you can't trust are not good places to look for deals.  If you want a good ride, Beepkart is the place to go.
To find your next two-wheeler the smart way, go to Beepkart.com right now.

A young Michael Landon, just a few years before rising to fame as “Little Joe” Cartwright in Bonanza, stars as Tony Rivers, a troubled teen struggling with anger management. Whit Bissell is featured as Dr. Alfred Brandon,  a psychologist (or mad scientist) with ulterior motives. Yes! Oh, yes, indeed! It’s the AIP/Herman Cohen campy classic, I Was a Teenage Werewolf. The Grue-Crew is in full Drive-In Theater mode for this one.
High-quality versions of I Was a Teenage Werewolf, streaming or physical media, are not available, but there is a reason. Susan Hart, the actress and widow of AIP co-founder James Nicholson, owns the rights to eleven AIP films outright: It Conquered the World (1956) and its remake Zontar, The Thing from Venus (1966); Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957) and its remake The Eye Creatures (1965); I Was a Teenage Frankenstein (1957); I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957); The Amazing Colossal Man (1957); Terror from the Year 5000 (1958); Apache Woman (1955); The Oklahoma Woman (1956); and Naked Paradise (1957). She frequently negotiates rights for merchandise and theatrical showings, but physical media has not been updated for release in decades. You can, however, purchase a VHS tape of the movie.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror: The Classic Era records a new episode every two weeks. Up next in their very flexible schedule, as chosen by Chad, is The Wasp Woman (1959). Yes, they’re sticking with 1950s B-movies, but moving from AIP/Herman Cohen on to Film Group/Roger Corman!
Please let them know how they’re doing! They want to hear from you – the coolest, grooviest fans: leave them a message or leave a comment on the Gruesome Magazine YouTube channel, the site, or email the Decades of Horror: The Classic Era podcast hosts at [email protected]
To each of you from each of them, “Thank you so much for watching and listening!”
Check out this episode!

Smokey brand Movie Reviews: Under Pressure
I’m a huge fan of Samara Weaving. Chick has the range on her. She is, apparently, pretty accomplished in the film game, getting her first run in the states as Heather in Ash vs. The Evil Dead. While i did check out Ash, it was long after the show was canceled so my very first introduction to Samara was with Netflix’s The Babysitter. I loved this movie and she was excellent in it. It wasn’t the best but it was fun enough for me to recommend it to anyone listening. Towards the end of last year, i heard rumors of a sequel and then nothing for a long ass time. Today, however, that f*cker dropped and i just HAD to check it out. Will The Babysitter: Killer Queen hold up against it’s surprisingly entertaining predecessor? We ask the big questions here, on this blog.
The Good
It’s super dope seeing where these kids ended up after the first flick. I really enjoyed the characters the first time around so double-dipping into to this world was a real pleasure.
I’m not a huge fan of McG’s directing style but dude has his own flavor. You definitely know this is a McG flick, for sure. Sh*t is like watching a comic book in real life. It’s kind of chaotic and a little ADD, but for this story? It works perfectly.
I really like the dialogue in this flick. It feels Diablo Cody-esque but not all pretentious. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s organic but it’s palatable. McG has a knack for infusing his films with a decent amount of humor and it really shows in this script.
The kills in this thing were exquisite, much better than the first. The CG blood was a little much but i absolutely enjoyed the gore. I’m not usually a fan of the sloppy but, in a film like this, that’s the biggest draw.
My mans still has no shirt. Continuity!
The cast is still amazing. Bella Thorne, King Bach, Hana Mae Lee, Samara Weaving, and Robbie Amell are still as hilarious as ever but i really like the new additions. I was a little surprised where characters ended up and the inexplicable resurrection of others was a little much, but it’s all in service to a rather forced narrative so it’s cool.
Judah Lewis as Cole Johnson is as spry and hilarious as ever. Dude was the best thing about the first flick, he and Samara, but i adored this kid, specifically. He had some... Interesting character development but his bad-assery is still intact when the pressure is on. Always a pleasure seeing my guys get their shine.
Emily Alyn Lind as Melanie was also as awesome as ever. She made a pretty aggressive heel turn for this entry but chick pulled it off. She’s not as playful or adorably wicked as Bee, like, not even close. Melanie is a straight up psychopath in this and i was real surprised. It’s like she’s channeling Snakebite Andi and it totally works.
Jenna Ortega as Phoebe is an absolutely welcome edition to this cast. She’s amazing and cute and absolutely brutal. This chick is as capable as Cole and it really shows. If they make this a trifecta, i hope she comes back. Ma was the best thing about this movie, just like Cole was in the first.
The pacing of this movie is on straight up meth, man. It definitely has someplace it wants you to be and it’s running full steam ahead, not stops. This is also a thing in McG movies; Dude has next to no subtlety or nuance but, sometimes, that’s fine. For this movie? It’s perfect.
But that Apache dance break, tho!
The Bad
All of the heartfelt, emotional, scenes in this thing feel out of place. It’s crazy tonal whiplash when placed next to the over-the-top violence, spastic editing, and weird ass interludes that have nothing o do with anything.
I had to adjust the settings on my TV because McG’s penchant for over-saturated color grading is on full display. I don’t know if it was just me or whatever, but these daytime shots feel bleached the f*ck out.
This thing feels like one big ass music video. Like, I'm not mad, but it’s very obvious the soundtrack to this flick has been weaponized to distract. You barely get more than a few seconds of any one song and it kind of gives you lyrical whiplash.
I don’t really like where Cole ended up, especially after his actualization after the first. It feels... forced? Yeah, forced is good. I think Cole needed to be nerfed in order for this entire narrative to be a thing. I don’t agree with it, but i understand it.
There are several plot holes that just go unaddressed. It’s kind of a problem, especially at the end where certain events occur that directly contradict things that were
The Verdict
I loved this movie, man. I was already a massive fan of the first but this one is pretty fun, too. I said fun, not good. As a film, objectively, it’s all over the place. There are several choices made that just boggles the mind. McG feels like the store brand version of Edgar Wright and that is no more apparent than how he decided to present this narrative. I’m not mad at it, i rather enjoyed my time with it, but, i mean, Scott Pilgrim is a thing and it does what this movie tries to do, infinitely better. Still, for what it is, this film is fun watch. Great performances, incredible energy, dope music, hilarious dialogue, legit gore; It’s just a bloody grand old time!

My Top 3 Favorite Quentin Tarantino Films Hey everyone. It’s been awhile since I’ve shared much of anything on here. If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen a few before/after movie reviews I’ve done over the past year. If you’ve watched any of those, you would also know this was my first year teaching high school, and that doesn’t exactly lend much time for me to share my thoughts on movies. There’s a couple weeks until school starts, so the reviews may be few and far between once again. But there’s been one movie I have seen this summer that inspired me to dust off the keyboard and talk about said movie’s director and his other works that I really love. That movie is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the director is the one and only Quentin Tarantino. I’ll be talking about my top three favorite movies directed by him. Just to be clear, there is no criteria that these movies have met that gives them an undisputed assessment of their quality. They are simply three great movies made by one of the most unique minds working in film today. #3- Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) Granted I’ve only seen this movie once, it is by far my favorite movie of the summer and it may end up being the best one I see this year. The story is set in late 60’s Hollywood and follows Rick Dalton, a TV star played by Leonardo Di Caprio whose popularity is quickly fading. Rick isn’t taking it well, confiding often in his best friend and stunt double Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt. Tarantino is known for not playing by the rules as far as traditional movie making goes, but Hollywood is very different even by his standards. There isn’t much a of plot, as almost the entire movie focuses on following these two characters around as Rick comes to grips with the changing Hollywood landscape. There isn’t even that much violence until the final 20 minutes or so. It really is a movie that only a handful of directors pull off, and Tarantino happens to be one of them. Both Leo and Brad Pitt are fantastic in their respective roles and are especially great when they share the screen together. One of my favorite things a movie can do is recreate a very specific era in American culture, and everything from the sets and music to the costumes and dialogue transports you back to 1969 Hollywood. Even though it runs nearly three hours long, I was hooked every minute. And although Hollywood doesn’t have the same tension and violence that have become Tarantino staples, the threat of the Manson murders looming over the story (Margot Robbie plays Sharon Tate, whom happens to be Rick Dalton’s neighbor) simmers and finally comes to an exhilarating head in the final act. A few repeat viewings might bump this movie down or possibly even up in my list, but as of right now Once Upon a Time in Hollywood definitely has earned a spot in my top three. #2- Inglorious Basterds (2009) If you love moments of tension in your movies as much as I do and haven’t seen Basterds, I recommend you stop reading right now and watch one of the best movies of the past 20 years, (It is streaming on Netflix after all) and then finish reading. Like the last entry, the story that this movie tells could only come from the mind of Quentin Tarantino. As World War II rages in Europe, a ruthless yet charming Nazi colonel by the name of Hans Landa (played by Christoph Waltz in one of my favorite performances on film) is hunting down the remaining Jews hiding out in France. Meanwhile, a ragtag group of Jewish American soldiers led by Alado “The Apache” Rayne (again Brad Pitt) are also tearing through France, terrorizing Nazi troops with brutal surprise attacks. On top of that, a young Jewish woman that had escaped Landa before (Melanie Laurent) also owns a small movie theater in Paris. The top leaders of the Third Reich decide her theater would be the perfect location to debut a new propaganda film. Unbeknownst to them, both the theater owner and the Basterds are planning a daring attempt to take out some of the most evil people in history as they gather to watch the new film. What really makes this movie for me is how unique it is. Again, I’m not sure any other director could pull off a story like this. Three storylines are taking place simultaneously that are all entertaining. Moreover, most of the movie isn’t even in English. Over half of the script is spoken in French or German. Like all of his other movies, Tarantino’s dialogue here is top notch, but what makes it brilliant is how it builds edge-of-your-seat tension almost entirely through spoken words. Alfred Hitchcock’s explanation of how to create tension in filmmaking is perfectly showcased in multiple scenes, most famously in the opening act. Much like Hollywood, Basterds is two and a half hour long movie that is so gripping that it feels like it goes by in 30 minutes. It’s hard to write a detailed explanation about what makes this movie so great without just telling to just see it yourself. Brad Pitt is hilarious, Christoph Waltz is vilely suave, and too many other people to count are brilliant in their roles too. Just go watch Inglorious Basterds. I promise you’ve never seen anything like it, and you won’t see anything like it again. #1- Pulp Fiction (1994) Ezekiel 25:17. Royale with Cheese. “SAY WHAT AGAIN!”. The Jack Rabbit Slim’s Twist Contest. Mention these phrases to anybody that loves film and they will know exactly what you’re talking about. Sure, Tarantino had a solid debut with his first feature film, Reservoir Dogs (which would probably be number four on this list) but Pulp Fiction is the movie that announced to the world that he is here to stay. It may have been released a year before I was even born, but even I know that it was a cultural phenomenon and a cinematic gamechanger. Tarantino’s signature dark humor, pop culture references, nonlinear narratives, and even his first casting of Samuel L. Jackson were introduced with this movie. Even more so than in his other works, Pulp Fiction has an incredibly unique plot that’s pretty difficult to summarize second hand. Three different storylines that interweave to varying degrees throughout the movie are presented out of order. The main story focuses on two hitmen played by Sam Jackson and John Travolta that are out trying to recover a mysterious briefcase for a mob boss played by Ving Rhames. The other story focuses on a boxer played by Bruce Willis whom refuses to throw a fight despite being pressured by the same mobster. The movie opens and closes with the last story throughline about a British couple of bank robbers that decide to hold up the Denny’s style diner they happen to be in one morning. As unusual as this sounds, Pulp Fiction is yet again a movie that is wildly entertaining just through the dialogue alone. Anybody that knows me well can attest that I love quoting movies, and this one happens to be a favorite of mine to pull from. There definitely are some weaker scenes even with repeat viewings (mainly Bruce Willis and his French(?) girlfriend) but the rest of the movie more than makes up for it. There are a lot of deep themes that can be explored with this movie, and some amazing character arcs that can lead to hours of debate and discussion. Motifs like redemption, free will versus fate, hypocrisy, and basic ethics can be found throughout and will linger in your mind along with the great writing and memorable characters. I remember the first time I watched this movie was about five years ago. Once the credits rolled, I had no idea what I had watched. I wasn’t sure what to make of it. But after watching it a second time, and then a third time, I realized its brilliance. I now consider it one of my all time favorites. Even more so than with Basterds, this movie is so different than anything else out there and needs to be watched rather than having somebody on the internet try to explain to you why it’s so great. It definitely isn’t for everyone with the graphic violence and coarse language, but if you haven’t seen Pulp Fiction, it’s also streaming on Netflix I’d highly recommend giving it a watch as it happens to be my favorite movie written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. What do you think of my list? What are your top three Tarantino movies? What should my next editorial, analysis, or review be about?

Misfit au (the start)
N/A: I´d say redemption for characters is good if is earned, not every evil character should or can be the good guy, but, if DC can make Harley the good guy...why not the others?
@djinmer4 @sailorstar9 @dannybagpipesarecalling @discordsworld @look-ma-no-hands336
The weather is humid and is giving the impression of noir, as someone is running from prison, which, ironic, is the perfect feeling for this night to a certain group. The government of the US is sending their top agents to retrieve the fugitive, dead or alive, sadly for them, the fugitives are still missing.
"Miss Weller" the captain is talking with his boss "the Suicide Squad is still unknown" the captain speak uneasily as the general and the other men are searching in the dark for something that may be already out of the state, only God can know what those freaks can do.
"Captain Smith, retrieve your men right now, at this point, find them will be impossible, let´s clean our steps" is a silent order with many implications and the Captain understand what his real command is as the man shoot the scientists and their assists.
"The operation is cancelled" the Captain explained as many scientists are shoot "there´s no register of Suicide Squad"
Meanwhile, the fugitives are in the sewer, much to their dismay, the old cliche of comic books ended up saving their lives. Columbina, Blink, Ice Woman, Polaris, War Path and Croc Man are walking in the sewer and watching rats and crocodiles(an Urban Legend, but, this is New Gotham) alike without caring.
"So" Columbina  speaks breaking the silence "we went to magical electroshock that should have killed us, but, manage to take the chip in our minds, without giving any sequela, and we´re here...in the sewer, full of dirty water" Columbina speaks as she has a hard time to believe in anything that just happened, well, in a sense, Columbina needs to believe in order to keep her sanity.
Polaris, being the one with any source of light, as the sewer was never designed to have light, even in New Gotham " No, what impressed me is the someone design this" she points the sewer " to be bigger enough to any person or meta-human to walk freely, but, they refuse to put lights"
"Sometimes, we got to wonder," Columbine said "how self-aware is New Gotham truly is"
Tori only sighs and complains about taxes. "Seriously, I do my taxes for that?!"
Blink intervene "we´re under the Suicide Squad, no one pays taxes, ironically, this has to be the only advantage the government ever give to us"
Warpath watches the two women complain about taxes and government, as Kitty is finding amazing how they went through electroshock and their hair doesn´t even look messy. And Dr Croc really wants a beer.
"What" the Apache man speaks gaining the attention of the others " we will do now? Return for our old lives? Do we have this option?"
Kitty said nothing, neither did Polaris, as the green haired woman only speaks one line "I´m looking at a door, in the fucking sewer, and I can only say, only in New Gotham"
The silence rules of the group and the future is uncertain, Warpath is musing about the experience and the uncertainty of everything makes too real, freedom was a vague dream, and now, she´s offering many, many possibilities.
Freedom is at their hands and they still smell like they just get out of a sewer, well, they really did. And now, Polaris and the others are planning on what to do, New Gotham is dark now, and the sounds of sirens can be heard, is for them or for someone else?
People wearing hoods show up, speaking in a dialect that is akin to Chinese, Kitty deduces as she used to study languages before...Suicide Squad and the hood figures show weapons and are ready to fight.
Collective all they speak one thing. "Only in New Gotham" and quickly they all begin to fight with the hood figures, who, of course, know all the martial arts and magic one can think of, in the end, Suicide Squad wins over the hood figures as Columbina used her hammer to finishes the last enemy.
No blood or guts was meet, instead, only sand is left on the floor. "So, sand people are real?" Columbina asked and before she could receive an answer they are transported to a mansion.
Tori only sighs as she points out they are still in New Gotham, of course, in the Magical part. "When you´re rich why stay in the non-magical part of New Gotham? I hate rich people" Tori aka Ice Woman complains and War Path wonders what´s real anymore.
"Ah, finally, the Suicide Squad arrives" a new voice jolts them and they take a step back as Ra Al Ghoul is drinking wine and looking at them as a good host, everyone knows who Ra Al Ghoul is. Never make an enemy of this man. "Oh, please, don´t be afraid, if I´d want you dead you would be dead already"
"Thanks, that really breaks the ice," Kitty said and Tori resents that line. "But, why are we here?"
"I´ll explain, but, first, Lorna Dane Lesher, I owe you the biggest apology I can give " this surprise everyone, including Lorna herself, as no one expected this. Deep down, they are all thinking if Columbina is right and maybe the dirty water and the electroshock are a bad combination.
"Judge by all your confusing faces, I better explain myself, Lorna, your father, Erik Lesher was a good friend of mine, Magneto, the master of Magnetism, and when you went to live with your family by your mother´s side, Magneto asked me to keep an eye on you, you see," Ra paused for a moment and continues "he had many enemies and he wanted you, his only daughter, to be saved and have a normal life, I did the best I could, but, I was a fool to not think the government wouldn´t use someone with your abilities and for that I apologise" Ra finishes his speech and Lorna has no idea what to say. Lorna looks at Kitty and asked her, with her green eyes pleading and only that, to do something.
"Look," Kitty said "we went through hell, maybe you had seen many versions of hell" Ra agree he did, Kitty is not surprised "but, offer sand people to kill and apologies will do shit to our situation, we had no life, and nothing to grab on reality...I can´t speak by the others, but, I want revenge or justice, whatever appropriate word is need here, against the monsters who used me as a weapon, I want to kill them, and I´d not think you want to help us"
"But, Miss Pryde...I´d want to help" Ra speaks offering a smile "You all want to murder, and I can sympathise with revenge, but, I can give more than a shiny weapon, well, no one here needs a weapon, I can give you a cover"
Lorna now speaks, still shocked(in more ways than another) about the revelation and is gazing at Ra Al Ghoul "how can you help us?"
"And what this will cost us?" Kitty adds as no one would give big favour for free, especially someone like Ra Al Ghoul.
"I can give you the perfect cover, now, for the price...I just want everyone´s discretion" he offers in a velvet tone and the others take a minute to consider the option.
"Well, when the devil makes an offer and we have no other option and we just defeat sand people, why not?" Kitty said shrugging comically. Lorna has still no concrete idea of what to think right now, her father passed away and still surprises her even in the grave.
3 years later, one of the popular shows is "You´re wrong" is the most popular Talk show in the history of TV, only losing to "sketch TV" a show that introduces the news how people like and the fans and haters often point out many of the greatest or worst moments of the program, often using each moment to prove journalism is dead or is doing alright.
Few realize that Sketch TV is not a channel of journalism, is a comedy show, lead by Kitty Pryde, Tori Drake and Lorna Dane, Clarice Fong, James Jonathan Proudstar and Eric “Croc” James
"Ryder, careful" Vera speaks drinking her cup of coffee "you can be overshadowed by this Sketch TV"
"Vera, they are a comedy show," Ryder said a bit amused, but, as he´s looking at some of the old sketches, Kitty giving details about how a person can steal a diamond, something clicked in his mind "but life is a comedy" and he is off to investigate and prepare his next news.

Rabbit Hole #1:
I started thinking of how certain words just become a part of your lexicon from childhood and you have no idea how it happened. When did I first encounter this word? We often don't ask ourselves this, but I did last month after watching season 5 of Doctor Who. In it, the 11th doctor shouts "Geronimo!" for the first time and even sends it as a message to River Song and Amy Pond in their race against time to restore the fabric of time as the TARDIS continues to explode, causing gaps in history and memory (not getting into this now though).
Anyway, the point is, some words just stick with you throughout childhood due to their frequent use in cartoons, books and other children's entertainment. Geronimo is one of them for me.
Tumblr media
It is defined as a way to express excitement or happiness, usually when doing something adventurous, eg. what a sky diver would yell before jumping out of a plane. In fact, it was a battle cry used by paratroopers, especially during World War II, on jumping from a plane.
I also found out (did not know this until I googled the definition) that Geronimo, or Goyaale, was a man! A prominent leader and medicine man born June 16, 1829 and died February 17, 1909 from the Bedonkohe band of the Ndendahe Apache people. He led numerous raids and related combat actions during the period of the Apache - United States conflict, which started with the American invasion of Apache lands following the end of the war with Mexico in 1848.
Tumblr media
He orchestrated breakouts on reservations, which were confining to the free-moving Apache people, in attempts to return his people to their previous nomadic lifestyle. It would be like if the Freeman population in Dune were put in reservations. Urgh. Anyway, he sounds like a cool dude, although some view home more as a crazed murderer of Mexicans and Americans alike. White settlers referred to him as "the worst Indian who ever lived". Hey, history is complicated.
Tumblr media
It's amazing that there's this chronology on Wikipedia that so easily condenses his life. If we had people tasked with chronicalling our lives in a book like they did on Game of Thrones, I wonder if that would change or influence how we lived our lives? In a way, social media is a self-curated version of a chronicle of our lives.
Geronimo later became a celebrity of legendary status, even taking part in the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. He dressed in traditional clothing, posed for photographs and sold crafts, including buttons from his shirts and hats. Visitors came to see how the "savage" had been "tamed". Oof! But I guess if your culture is to be turned into a side-show, at least make some money out of it.
Tumblr media
Although I can't remember where I first heard someone shout "Geronimo!", I am quite certain it was in a cartoon. Imdb has a list of the most popular movies and TV shows to have a character shout "Geronimo!", with number 1 being Toy Story 2. The Doctor Who episode where the 11th doctor (played by Matt Smith) says it, titled "The Lodger", is also listed.
Tracing the source of the name "Geronimo" has been quite the unexpected journey (take that Bilbo Baggins!). But then again, that's the point of this Tumblr page, that a simple thought, idea or Google search can send you down a rabbit hole of knowledge and curiosity that you didn't know was possible. Typing "the first use of geronimo" into the search bar took me first to pre-civil war America to meet a man who earned the nickname while leading Apache raids. Some historians believe that Geronimo was called this because the term has its origins in the cries of frightened Mexican soldiers calling out the name of the Catholic St. Jerome when they faced Geronimo in battle.
Then it took me to the United States during World War II, where "Geronimo" was used as a United States Army airborne exclamation occasionally used by jumping paratroopers (or anyone about to jump from a great height) as a general exclamation of exhilation. While the origins of it being used in this manner is traced to Fort Benning, Georgia, where some of the first of the US Army's parachute jumps occurred in the 1940's, it is disputed how this happened.
One theory comes from paratrooper Gerard Devlin, who dates the exclamation to be from August 1940 and attributes it to Private Aubrey Eberhardt, a member of the parachute test platoon at Fort Benning. On the eve of the platoon's first jump, they decided to calm their nerves by spending the day watching a film at the Main Post Theatre and a night at the local beer garden. The film they saw was a Western featuring our guy Geronimo. While the title is uncertain, it is believed to probably be the 1939 film Geronimo with Andy Devine and Chief Thundercloud (cool name!). On the way to the barracks, Eberhardt's comrades taunted him saying that he would be too scared to even remember his name tomorrow when they perform their first jump. Eberhardt retorted, "All right, dammit! I tell you jokers what I'm gonna do! To prove to you that I'm not scared out of my wits when I jump, I'm gonna yell 'Geronimo!' loud as hell when I go out that door tomorrow!" Eberhardt kept his promise and the cry was gradually adopted by the other members of his platoon.
The second theory comes from Major Richard Winters, who in his book "Beyond Band of Brothers: The War Memoirs of Major Richard Winters", explains that at the time when the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning was due to jump, there was a popular song called "Geronimo" on the radio which quickly became a favourite amongst the troops.
The third theory comes to us from the Medicine Bluffs at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where Geronimo was jailed as a prisoner of war and his grave is located today. The Medicine Bluffs are steep cliffs that have come to be known as Geronimo's Bluff. Tall tales were told about Geronimo while at Fort Sill, including the now famous legend of Geronimo leaping on horseback down an almost vertical cliff with the Army in hot pursuit. It is said that in the midst of this jump to freedom, he cried out "Geronimo-o-o!".
Although we are not sure which story is the correct one (the first one is my favourite, while I think it is fair to say that the third one is most likely fiction), the cry grew in popularity amongst the Army's paratrooper regiment, despite worries from those in charge that the cry lacks discipline. Excitedly, the Army's 501st and 509st Parachute Infantry Regiments incorporated the name "Geronimo" into its insignias in the early 1940's, with permission from Geronimo's descendants. By then, the coverage of the paratroopers' exploits during World War II had made the cry "Geronimo" known to the wider public and its use spread outside the military and the US Army.
So as I take a leap into writing and consequently sharing my thoughts online, I shout "Geronimo!" in fear, but mostly excitement.
