I can finally post these! I made a gift for my friend @seaslugbananabread because I got them for secret Santa. Naturally I had to crochet a body-pillow sized Pacific Banana Slug.
Bonus:

process and finished product of my anatomically correct heart out of stained glass! its my first time using stained glass and soldering metal so there’s definitely room for improvement but i think it turned out pretty nice!!
i definitely channeled the nbc hannibal into this TwT (especially my earliest prototype sketches but those were a little difficult for the timeframe i needed..)

what I think anatomically accurate centaurs would look like
(!WARNING! not anatomically accurate, also skeletons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Featuring: badly photoshopped realistic Skelton
before any of you get on my ass about “erm, actually that’s not how those bones would look☝️🤓” shut up and go outside, it’s a fantasy creature
I think their necks would be shorter, because it would make it easier for baby centaurs to hold themselves up. If it was like a classic centaur, the legs would work before the baby would have the ability to lift its head on its own, and that would probably suck. That’s also why I made their torsos shorter. I think they’d also have really strong upper body muscles, and stronger front legs to better support the human part. I also think the arms would be shorter, because I think it makes more sense proportionally. I think they’d also have more horse like mouths because they’d be primarily herbivores.
Really wild stuff under cut
I think their reproductive organs would be in the front with the human half, because it would make freaking it easier, and also make copulation more emotionally connected. Because horses don’t feel romantic, they don’t mate for life, but humans do, and assuming centaurs have the same intelligence as humans, they would want to feel that connection. I imagine when pregnant, the baby would also press into the chest (horse chest) and the organs would move back to make room by pressing into the large intestine. That’s also another reason the front legs would need to be stronger.
i know that was like really weird, but I like yapping.

(Almost) Anatomically Correct Heart, pt 2
I still consider this a wip even though it is meant to be two layers. Think of this as a practice run.

This year for Valentine's Day, Beth's anatomically-correct heart cookies included this styling of raspberry glaze and red sprinkles, which she titled, "Microplastics Embedded In Your Arteries."
I think it beats last year's bloody cookies.
