Awww i love your big house au headcanons, theyre so so gooood! Jackie playing house in the treehouse is so so cute and also makes me imagine like everyone wanting to use the treehouse at the same time so they have to compromise, like Jackie playing house but Shauna wants to read and Lottie wants to be on the roof so Jackie plays that Shauna is gonna be the distant-dad-who-just-reads and Lottie is a contractor fixing the roof and neither Lottie or Shauna are even small at the time but they both poke their heads in like ‘....im not made for manual labour, im gonna be a bird instead’ and ‘no way am i gonna be a shit husband who doesnt contribute! Ill be your mute live-in lodger who’s an academic with a dark past’ even though all they’re doing is lying on the roof/silently reading. Mel would have less luck hiding, maybe Jackie is just like ‘treehouse is full, go hide in my room instead’ and later Van has A Talk with Jackie about how if mel is upset enough to be hiding like maybe also tell someone, don’t just send her to your room and keep playing.

I love jackie not taking pills, its so canon to me, and i also love the idea of lottie like mildly injuring herself and not even paying attention bc shes Focused. Like coming in with a massive bruise or bleeding and tai like OMFG ARE YOU OK??? And lotties like :) i saw a butterfly :)

Mel having accidents because shes so anxious is so heartbreaking, poor baby <3 but also sweet that van and tai help her with it, like the sticker chart thing is really cute. Can also imagine the others start to get a bit more aware of ways they can help, like noticing if mel is wriggling a lot and reminder her to go. Like she probably usually just panics and shakes her head and insists shes fine bc having someone draw attention to it makes her more anxious but maybe sometimes it helps idk.

I really want to know more about shauna’s passive aggressive notes XD Also awwww mel teaching van to skateboard!!!! I love that!!!!! And lotties notes sound adorable, shes so sweet!

I’m so glad you liked them! Van being scared of dogs is canon to me now! Mickey is Akilah’s and Minnie is Mari’s - though Mickey is a girl and Minnie is a boy because Mari wanted to name hers Minnie but didn’t realise she’d picked a boy mouse until they got home. I’ll make a list with all of everyone’s goals for you!! I think Lot definitely does shove often, but she usually will only do it in the heat of the moment and if someone intervenes and tells her to go to the calm down corner she won’t do it again. Ahh and I love that about the treehouse! And Jackie definitely doesn’t think too much about Mel wanting to hide cause if Mel wants to hide she can hide just not here, so she thinks she’s doing something kind by offering her room. She’d definitely feel bad once Van tells her that wasn’t the right thing to say. Shauna’s passive aggressive notes usually go - ‘I tripped on a barbie in the toy room’ knowing it was Gen’s job to clean the play room that week, or ‘to whoever ate the last goldfish pack-“ knowing full well it was Mari.

Hi anon!! Apologies for the late reply, I clicked in to my inbox which made the notification disappear and then. Well. It was gone, so. You know how it goes I'm sure.

Anyway, 100% scary dog Shauna with no one to hold her leash. That was Jackie, before she died, except Shauna hated that she loved it and blew up their friendship over it (naturally). It's all been said before by greater minds than me, but all the girls think Jackie wasn't contributing in the Wilderness- that isn't true! She was keeping Shauna's incredibly concerning brand of homosexuality sealed away beneath one hundred levels of repression and self-deprivation on Shauna's end. This:

was the only thing standing between Shauna Shipman starting to get really freaky with it (eating girls, scaring them so badly they piss themselves for her own amusement, collecting trophies, the list goes on) and we lost it back in Season One. It's no fucking wonder everyone is in so much trouble.

That being said if someone had been brave enough to step up and try to focus Shauna's intense need for control over all things into something sex related instead of something murder related, they wouldn't be in this mess. If Shauna Shipman was the camp boyfriend, they'd have been rescued by now. I digress.

As for Melissa's behavior, she's got that sweet sappy obedient thing going on for sure, but if we're being really real she's the kind of dog that would eat your fucking underwear if you left it on the floor because she likes you so much (even though she knows it's wrong). She knows what boundaries are but she doesn't respect them: Sometimes it's subtle, sometimes it's not, but it's happening either way, so either make peace with it or move on. (Or the third more concerning option: Never find out until it's too late!)

Shauna's fine with it, because she's been dying to be fully seen since she lost Jackie (at least insofar as she'll allow herself to be seen), but that doesn't make it healthy or right. And Mel's intense focus on Shauna allows her to slide under the radar of "weird" with all the other girls, who assume that what makes Mel weird is the fact she's into Shauna (as opposed to the reality which is much fucking weirder).

So to answer your question: Mel's the kind of dog that you find out at the vet is responsible for so many of your socks being missing. And she'll try to hold Shauna's leash because it's a role that needs filling, but she's really fucking bad at it- and when push comes to shove, you know she's dropping that shit, and it's going to get messy, literally.
