"Repairs At Night"

You are an amusement park attendant, as well as part of the engineering team. Some time during your time supervising and making adjustments to park rides and other places in need of a fix in their machinery, you've come to learn that the animatronics are sentient. During your apprentice days, before you had become a full time worker, you treated the androids, mascots and robots all so nicely; some might even consider your care to them as gentle. As you came more and more often, the bots at the amusement park grew fond of you and one night they let you know about their secret sentience.

Tonight was the same as any other, the amusement park had closed at 9 and you were on your way to one of the attractions where a certain mascot needed some repairs.

"Hey!" You laugh as the amusement park's mascot fidgeted in your lap. "Quit wriggling around, I can't open you up and fix you if you keep moving like that." The mascot turned their face away from you, giving you a static-y apology. You reassure them that it's alright and that it was normal. Honestly though, sentient robots were something you just needed to get used to and you had no idea if fidgety, nervous behaviour was normal for them.

"You're normally so full of energy greeting everyone at the park," you remark. "It's almost refreshing seeing this shy side of you."

The bot noticeably shifted at your comment and a small whirring sound can be heard as you continue looking through their inner workings. "It is because I am not in front of other people. I must be friendly and confident when on the job. It is... it is different, when I am with you. It feels..."

You smirk, sneaking a small glance at them. "Intimate?" You suggest. The bot nods slightly. If they were human, you could swear that they'd be blushing at this point.

I think if there's a lesson to be learned from Finn is "I'm doing it for the bit" are famous last words of a person who is about to go on a journey of self-discovery. Djjddj I'm also pretty sure objectum and robophilia are different things, specifically I've heard that androids are too human looking to be considered objectum. But this might be the case in realm of that one "average human is only attracted to pyramidhead and werewolves" tumblr post.

It's incredible what an overwriting a few parts of your code can do. Joel has been messing with his code himself for a while. But his own coding was clumsy and buggy, so he had to revert it or if he didn't know how to, he would have just deal with it. Every day he was afraid that someone who isn't Etho notices, that he would be either wiped clean or be rid of as defective, simply because whatever he did with his coded was too noticeable. Downloading a software however totally solved this issue, because it's external, it was usually an easy fix (excluding the drug malware), even though it didn't really give him desired effects all the times. But this one worked so well Joel didn’t know his casing could tremble quite like this. Every little touch was sending his digital mind into a frenzy. But it was still not quite the feeling, maybe it was because it were his own hands that were touching Joel that he found it Still somehow underwhelming. So unnoticeably to him, in between mind numbing explosions of pleasure his own deep rooted displeased hatred for being a machine, his memory unit brought forward to him the feeling of his mechanic tactfully touching him, trying not to breach any boundaries, just trying to help. And the memory alone fully consumed Joel’s consciousness with a feeling that was recognized by the software as pleasure. So his processor, as if Wanting to explode, strung another memory of Tango, this time it was the one where the human adored Joel, his insides, out loud. The one line of "absolutely gorgeous", while being between Joel’s legs deep into access panel. Back then it caused him to start overheating, right now, his cooling system is definitely 10° behind. He reconstructed from these memories a false one, one that humans would call a fantasy. A fantasy that hands weren't his own and the things that were never said but he can clearly recreate with Tango's voice in his head. His systems had to force a sleep mode to cool and calm down.

tagging your posts as objectum when you only lust after a completely human acting ai is.. not objectum. sorry to tell ya. objectum, as the name implies, is meant for people who are actually attracted to objects, i.e. A computer monitor, a coffee cup, a plushie, not just the completely human acting thing inside the objects. Same would go for androids and other human looking robotics. Not obj and try not to crosstag as thats a reportable offense, could get your blog taken down if you do it too often ;)

Ah, thank you for letting me know! I wasn't sure what the correct tag to use was because I commonly see a lot of stuff for ai/robot characters tagged that for some reason. So what technically is the more accurate tag to use then? Also, I do actually find computer monitors to be really attractive too, so would that specifically count? I'm just genuinely curious and always learning about the specifics of different terms!

Hello, and welcome to the blog!

So, first off: what I'm going to be posting is robots I find hot. or just really like, honestly. Think of it as a "robot of the day" type thing, made mainly so I can show off some more obscure robots that don't get enough attention while also discussing the popular ones I really like. Not,, daily robots though. (that would just be a little taxing on me.)

Oh yeah! and expect me to be posting robots along with like. Whatever I'm current playing or getting into at the moment. Once I run out of robots I'm already acquainted with expect posts to slow down a bit,,

This blog may or may not be just a tiny bit. self absorbed.. as in. I'm purely going to be doing this for me. I'm going to attach a lot of my own personal thoughts and feelings onto the posts so uh, be wary of that!

Here's how I'm going to be tagging posts:

#robots: "robots" Is the general term I'm going to be using for all of them, since the tag is so big.

#underrated robots: Pretty self explanatory. Robots I think don't get enough attention. (You should totally browse a bit here, btw..)

#robot: A man/alien/other?made machine made for a variety of reasons. I'm not really sure I have to give an example just like. Read a 1940's science fiction novel I guess.

#android: Robots designed to heavily mimic humans in both physical appearance and features(that can sometimes feel a bit uncanny valley). No cyborgs though. They aren't cyborgs. Examples include: ava from deus ex, and data from star trek.

#sentient ai: AI that have somehow grown to attain sentience, and thus most often have intelligence comparable to that of a human (or greater.) Though, they usually do not have a body they maneuver around in,like a normal robot. Examples include: HAL 9000, GLADoS, and Allied Mastercomputer.

#computer program: Similiar to sentient ai, and can be sentient ai, but the main difference is they exist mainly digitally. Also, they are not always fully sentient. Can sometimes mess with your computer, and almost always have specific avatars. Examples include: kinitopet, and spamton.

#other: If I find a robot that doesn't really fit into any of these categories then,, i'll just use this tag.

re that objectum post; what about characters like Glados ? like i'd assume regular fictional androids/robots wouldnt count because those are basically just humans with wires but would characters like Glados who are just straight up a little device be objectum?

This is difficult for me to answer in a way that includes GLaDOS as the whole facility and Edgar Electric Dreams but excludes GLaDOS’s physical form bc at that point she crosses into the related but often separate category of Robot instead of objecto.

I think part of it also comes in a limit to human expressiveness? Like CRT emoticon gf feels more objecto to me than PAL from Mitchells Vs Machines even though PAL is similarly limited to just a face on a screen.

I guess I’m purrsonally skewed by my experience as objectum being one where the attraction comes more to the soul than the conduit. While I’d certainly like a physical form to interact with, it isn’t the central point! It comes more in wavelengths than speech or touch.
