I don't consider that person to be me anymore, and names don’t have to much meaning for me. But some people will be hurt by it. I got a buddy named Reg from Tevinter who's a trans guy. Never ask him that shit he will be deeply hurt by you asking.

honestly a lot of them aren't even up to date (i know i need to remove a lot from Cullen's playlist bc a lot are very vague in a way i kinda frown upon now) or fully researched (i made Isa's mostly from seeing i had many songs about love like the sea in my others playlists, or made Davrin's when his VaV's episode came out and was looking for songs and kept finding the Hero Songs i had in others playlist. When i realize i have a reccuring theme in my music tastes that fits a chara i can create a playlist just to make a note about it in my head without specifically building the playlist)

and i have a stray more general songs in my full Dragon Age playlist (that has the problem of also having the songs of the ^ others charas playlist so it gets lost in the middle. But also if i say "In Vain" by Within Temptation is an Inquisitor Song and "Believer" by Imagine Dragons is a general Inquisition song, or that "Champion" by Fall Out Boy is a Hawke song and "Cut The Cord" by Shinedown is a da2 squad song, and It Tore Your Heart Out by Dirt Poor Robin is more the Warden squad then what)

My brother suggested Davrin for an opposites attract romance for reyla. But idk I think neve would fit better for that the more I play. A thief and a detective. The fact that reyla would probably understand neve’s love of dock town better than most. Like I’m seriously wondering if someone in BioWare played oblivion. Not saying it’s a carbon copy or a trying that’s ridiculous but I do wonder if it’s inspired.

Like reyla grew up on the waterfront. An area outside the walls of the capital city of Cyrodil. Where the poor and homeless live. And they both even have a rebel group with the grey fox and shadow dragons. And yes as the name implies it’s like dock town in the fact that it’s near the water.

Like they both have a desire to keep home safe. I think the major difference is neve it’s more dock town is home. Reyla it’s more the followers of the gray fox and her family that is home. Like if Miaara I feel like would probably be more into Davrin. Like warriors that have raiding someone thrusted upon them. Trying their best to protect everyone. At most their differences is Davrin being a warden is more accepting of his death and miaara is worried about if she dies who will take care of Reyla.

Edit: also a calm collected ice mage with a thief with a fiery temper like idk I love opposites attract but i think it works better if there is some similarities there. Like how both Andy and April are childish in parks and rec but they are still opposites as in pessimist/optimistic

so i binned my current run (i was just past The Big Decision you have to make after you first meet davrin) to start over for the sake of mods, because i really wanted to play dress up (i just want andy to look like the grey warden she's been for the past decade).

which means i get to see the start of the game all over again, which got me thinking about this post i made previously (which i have to link because you can't add videos to reblogs otherwise i'd be doing that instead and i cbf making this a gif-- actually whatever i'll just put the screenshot of the post and the rest of my thoughts here under the cut)

anyway. thinking thoughts. connecting dots, perhaps. the framing of those shots of varric are also far too ominous for my liking. very crossing-a-threshold-from-whence-one-cannot-return kind of vibes! can't say i like it!

and then neve does not acknowledge varric at all when she hobbles into the infirmary, and there's barely any mention of him outside of harding saying 'and varric paid the price' in the first lighthouse group debrief. harding's little wallow moment when you first return to the ritual site to go find the dagger... god. i thought it was a little weird at first when no one ever acknowledged rook saying 'i need to go talk to varric' but...

swear to god if they pull out a 'he's been dead the whole time!' i'll shit myself

Rook: True. I remember breaking into this one Duke’s castle and he had these weird fire puzzles where you had to join the fire together.

Taash: Ah man, torch puzzles? Those such.

Rook: Oh and the painting ones?

Taash: Ugh.

Davrin: Rook, you rarely use fire unless you’re far away from Darkspawn. Any reason for that?

Rook: Rather not fuck up my lungs more then they already are.

Davrin: Smoke hurts them that bad?

Rook: The original damage came from smoke inhalation, and then my Mother paid off healers to not have them fully heal the damage.

Rook: I wanted to be a Bard. Mother hated the idea of me not being the perfect little noble wife she imaged me one day being.

Davrin:... aren’t you like thirty and he was nearly sixty when he died? And you said you joined the Wardens when you were twenty-four?

Rook: I’m thirty-two and yes. Yes I did.

Emmrich: Rook, may I inquire why you change your name?

Rook: Because names only mean what you put into them. 

Emmrich: By which do you mean?

Rook: *cough* King Maric. Everyone knows this name, right? But what if he’d been named Bob? Ferelden would obsess over that name. 

Emmrich: I suppose. So names to you are not as important because it’s deeds?

Rook: Names are words we give importance to. It’s worse when people are obsessed with them and having a good name that *cough* you can *cough* carry *cough*

Emmrich: Rook! Rook! Please calm yourself; you’ll trigger an attack!

Rook: Not my first attack, won’t be the last. It’s been three days Bellara, I spent enough time resting. 

Bellara: Still, we’re worried. You coughed up blood.

Rook: Better then Blight!

Bellara:… have you coughed up Blight?

Rook: Oh man, so before I joined the Wardens, but after I got Blighted, I had this attack. Coughed up a bunch of Blight. The expressions of the Wardens were hilarious.

Bellara:… how?

Rook: Dunno. I should ask Solas next time he lingers in my mind.

Lucanis: Rook. Are you the one to buy all that cheese?

Rook: *cough* We needed more cheese. 

Lucanis: Please tell me you didn’t get the despair cheese.

Rook: Ick, no. I got the one tasting of happiness. And mostly Nevarran cheese and some Antivan. There’s this little place that makes spicy cheese. 

Lucanis: Good. Despair has no room in dinner.

Rook: Unless you’re killing someone?

Lucanis: Even then, you should always serve the best.

Rook: I went to Adamant after you lot came through yeah. Worked with them for a while before I got called away to Anderfelds again. Good thing to. I hate Orlais.

Harding: It’s not all bad. Ever been to the Emerald Graves?

Rook: Where do you think I fought that giant?

Lucanis: Rook, were you the one to bring that red wine?

Rook: *cough* Yep. It’s good isn’t it.

Lucanis: It is. Where is it from?

Rook: This little vineyard in Orlais. I know the owners. Best red wine I’ve ever had. 

Lucanis: Hmm, I would say Antivan Blood Wine is the better one.

Rook: Oh, from your family? Yeah it’s good. Has a nice earthy taste but I like the smooth flavour of the wine I got. 

Lucanis: Fair. Have you ever had white wine?

Rook: Yeah. Not a huge fan.

Rook: Only a dozen or so. They’re comfy to lay on. 

Taash: Why do you need that many pillows?

Rook: Why not?

Taash: Just seems like to many.

Rook: Trust me. Make a big nest of soft pillows and blankets. It’s really cozy. And sometimes it’s easier to sleep for me so my lungs aren’t hurting.

Taash: Huh.

Rook: Oh yeah, no. I saw Sir Bonesworth use a sword ones. Cut off his own head.

Rook: Margaret’s skeleton. The one who works in the library? Got a letter, he’s answering to that now.

Neve: Interesting. How’d he take it.Rook: Gave me wine and asked me not to use any family names as my own unless I’d keep them.

Ok, the Grey Wardens have been receiving reports of people going missing, at first they think the Darkspawn is responsible, but when they send a team to investigate they instead find a new enemy, Mind Flayers.

"That is a flying ship," Warden Andy Thorne said, tilting their head to stare at the machine above them.

"No, I thought it was in water," drawled Brynja Brosca. The Hero of Ferelden propped her hands on her hips with a long sigh. "Fuck, and here I thought after Solas things would get easier."

"I mean he's banging his girl in the Fade," Andy shrugged as Davrin, a fellow Warden and Andy's husband, approached them with his griffin Assan. "Guess we needed some other big fuck all villain."

"Couldn't find anything," Davrin said apologetically. "I've never seen anything like this."

"Me either," a new voice joined. Riley Cousland, Brynja's fellow Hero of Ferelden, had walked up to them, her own husband Zevran close behind, eyeing the other assassins keenly. "And I went hunting for the cure all around Thedas. Saw weird shit."

"Tis a bizarre thing," Morrigan voiced, looking up from where she'd been searching some books. Her husband Naomahn was quietly speaking with their son Keiran. "I've never seen these tentacle beings..."

"Seems to be a new form of Darkspawn," Thom Rainer, once known as Blackwall, said. The Warden motioned to where their former companion's body lay. A tadpole had been inserted into her, and it took only a few days for the form of one of the tentacle beings to come from her body. Killing it was hard, and they didn't know what to do with the body.

"Flying ship," Andy said dryly.

"Still," Thom shrugged.

"First Warden!" a voice shouted. Evka, nearby and half ignoring the banter going around, looked up.

"Report," she said to the scout.

"We got a group of people coming. One looks like an elf, really pale. Then two people with horns? Some sort of Qunari? Then another elf, a yellow-skinned person and a dwarf," he reported. "They seem to know what these things are, heard them call 'em Mind Flayers."

"Let's go meet them," Evka decided.

“Well that’s lovely,” Branwen lifted a hand over her eyes to squint at the trees. “Andy? Andy are you okay?” She called out.

“I’m perfectly fine,” Andy shouted back. The Lord of Fortune braced themself on the tree, hand wrapped around a branch with a feral grin. “I’ve got this!”

“I still could lift a platform up there,” Lace said as she stared up at human. Branwen sighed, lowering her hand.

“I believe it’s best to simply… let this happen. And hope Davrin shows up with Assan before Andy lands face first in a bush,” the necromancer glanced from side to side. “Not how I expected a double date to go.”

“Ah,” Lace winced. It had been her idea to go explore an old crypt in Arlathan. After little respite before they went after the Gods.

A chance for all of them to find something interesting.

A chance to feel normal after… after.

“Hey,” Branwen turned to her, a hand on the shorter woman’s shoulder. Lace looked up at her and sighed. Drawing inwards, Lace placed a hand on Branwen’s to push away the glamour. A skeleton face appeared where the dark skin and thick curls of Branwen were once. “An. This.”

“Not this,” Lace said, motioning to how her lover now looked. “Both of us. I don’t… I don’t regret giving into the Titans. I don’t regret becoming one,” Lace told her. “And I doubt you regret becoming a Lich when you lay there dying.”

“No,” Branwen said, bending down as she lifted Lace’s hand up to press her lipless mouth to it. “Never, not as long as I have you.”

“I love you,” Lace said. “We were dying. We chose this to not lose each other. Our friends… our friends understand.”

“They do,” Branwen said softly. “But I understand.” The lich stood up while pulling her glamour back on. “One more moment to be normal.”

“One more,” Lace vowed as Davrin finally entered the clearing to shout up at his own lover to not jump, he found a different path.
