Merlin rewatch -- S4E3: The Wicked Day

Uther and Arthur were so loving in this episode 💔 They went all out to torture us I know.

"You think I would ever forget that today is the anniversary of your birth?"

Nawww Uther was so weak but so warm and loving. Arthur looked dazed like he wasn't sure if he was dreaming. It might be the first time Uther actively mentioned Arthur's birthday? Considering the circumstance of his birth (and the fact that Arthur blamed himself for Ygraine's death).

Love the way Arthur said “I’ll tell you about it (the birthday celebration) tomorrow." So incredibly gentle.

"You think I would miss my son's anniversary?"

Arthur looked so surprised and happy by Uther’s sudden show of affection (how rare was that...? Poor baby.) And the light is bright and warm, making Arthur’s eyes shine in joy.

Nice little scene with Arthur coming over to Uther's chamber to care for him and simply sit with him. The first time they could be like normal father and son.

Last happiness before everything went to hell… Arthur had that rare full-teeth grin 🥺 At least they shared one last smile together?

Not Merlin AND Uther having the same reaction to seeing “Lady Catrina” for the first time, why'd they both look like they'd risk it all for her💀

Arthur and Morgana’s faces at watching Uther flirt took me out😭

There’s so much great comedy in this episode, Catrina tossing the food into the river when Uther turned away was so good😆

Arthur sleeping shirtless on top of his bed sheets🤨the directors knew what they were doing with that

Loved Gaius and Uther’s scenes together this episode

I did not expect Sarah Parish (Catrina) to be able to contort her face like that😭

“She’s the future Queen of Camelot, whether you like it or not. So you better get used to it.” Arthur’s definitely saying that to himself as much as he’s saying it to Merlin
