so anyways im starting two P5R x HSR AU's because im so very normal about these games i promise

While my strong, vocal support for Ukraine remains unchanged and I believe it is unambiguously morally correct, I will say that there is something of a bitter pill embedded in it for me as a Jew who is very close to another Jew whose whole family had to flee Ukraine with her as a child because a combination of having the wrong surnames and being Jews meant they could not safely and successfully stay there. And like. She was born there. She still identifies as Ukrainian and has been devastated the last three years over the suffering of her people. She has been a vocal opponent of Putin and of Russian imperialism.

And at the same time, the reason she's here in the US and isn't fluent in Ukrainian is because she was too Jewish to be a "real" Ukrainian (despite the Soviets having forced her family to give up their Jewish religious practices and her having to learn everything as an adult.)

shuffling back onto my soap box with more mefau+talulah observations. hear me out on this one:

faust is the daughter and mephisto is the pawn.

(please note this statement does not coincide with how much she values each of them but more how each of them came to be influenced and used by talulah and later kashchey. she still desperately wanted them to be her family, and she wanted them to live.)

if we examine how faust and mephisto were each influenced by talulah as essentially their primary guardian and confidant after they joined reunion, we can see clear parallels in what parts of her get through to them and what parts of her as a person they end up understanding, and each of those correspond to a part of how kashchey raised talulah in turn.

kashchey set talulah up as his heir and thus instilled in her values and beliefs with his words and lessons, in whiich even her rejection of them characterised her. but he also used her as his pawn to his own ends by having her go and do his dirty work sending her on assassination missions, and later using reunion to attempt to spark a war for the benefit of ursus.

FIRST CASE. FAUST.

faust and talulah are fundamentally similar people in terms of heart; the kind who stand up for others, the kind who want to punish people for doing wrong, the kind who value and communicate what they mean through words and try to understand others in turn, the kind that carry far too many expectations and burdens and do not confide in anyone until it is tooo late.

they both willingly infected themselves, willingly submitting themselves to what they perceive as a "rotten life" to escape what came before, to be able to be like and fight for those near them who are suffering, but who they ultimately cannot help they way they want to and know how to.

therefore, faust is someone talulah both as the fighter and the black snake could easily impress her values upon with words.

the black snake even dismisses the both of them similarly...

SECOND CASE. MEPHISTO.

...while mephisto resembles her most in her lack of a concrete sense of self, not being able to be fostered before cruelty got their hands on them. built, then, upon bluster in a role not meant for them. both feel the immediate need to nullify temporary pain and suffering despite the fact it will harm, if not ruin them and everyone around them in the long term.

he has little interest in understanding morals or ideals or other people. he only wants to appease the people he trusts, and therefore gain value in obedience, being (loved?) valued in the only way he understands how. mephisto is the exact kind of person kashchey told talulah she will never get through to with her ideals alone, and she fails to do so even after alina warns her.

he is without self-esteem, with emotions and thoughts he does not properly dissect and scrutinise from his habit of running from pain and discomfort, and craves her attention, direction. he takes words and commands and executes them as he sees fit and appropriate, which is often cruelly, because he only understands appeasement and violence. he is the exact kind of person who would desperately want to be used by someone like her.

she’s wearing some sort of big collar that covers her neck and shoulders, I think? seeing its face would absolutely smite you from the face of this earth. design definitely going to get some reworking in the future but thats all for today folks!

..anyway to continue on what I was going on before I think it’s insane the way the DE fandom treats Harry as a kawaii sinnamon roll given what we’ve seen of him in canon: yes he is mentally unwell and that does put him in vulnerable positions but that doesn’t exempt him from the fact he’s continuously terrorized his ex throughout the years & wtf is she gonna do? He’s a cop. She can’t just get a restraining order on him. And the children too, the amount of people I see who antagonize cuno and cunoesse completely unironically for being, what, children who don’t trust the police is insane.

It’s like Harry is given a free pass to victimize people who can’t fight back against him because of his authority as a cop/adult/man and people just let it be because “well he’s so funny haha tie man!”

Also, I actually am interested in your thoughts on fnaf if you’re interested in sharing. I have this fascination with the series and I’m always interested to see how people feel about it nowadays considering. A lot of things but especially its creator LOL

YAHOOO cracks my knuckles. I’ll probably add onto this depending on extra thoughts and if someone wants some of my cents on something though it probably wont go long plus i dont wanna jam my head. so this is likely just gonna cover my overall current thoughts with a bit of stuff based on the creator himself

I remember so long ago as a kid whenever fnaf 1 came out i was deathly afraid of it because i grew up in a anti-horror catholic household and how everyone my age then was talking about how it was the scariest horror game to have been released. Though when i noticed one of my cousins liked it i decided to indulge in it and then i went into a spiral of being a big fnaf fan (aka i was there with the early days of vincent purple guy. the phone guy in chica theory. even the more useless discourse like the bonnie’s gender arguments LMAOO. I think it also introduced me to the concept of shipping discourse? Horrific).

Ive been distant from fnaf since like. Either help wanted or security breach (the fuckign. Sun and moon duo did irreversible damage to the ecosystem sorry i needed to make a jab) because the lore was getting too much for me to handle, but seeing how much of fnaf had became something heavily catered to children kindaaa makes me sad but not too upset? I say kind of because i have younger cousins who are like new fnaf fans (even as far as a fnaf themed birthday party 😭). It’s like a passing hype train to me now where something may intrigue me about it but i’m not gonna hop on it or anything, i’ll just stare at it a little and then go on with my day. I do my best to never linger on the nostalgia because then wishing for old fnaf is a desperate and distant wish even if the fnaf fans know how to cook

Now onto. Cawthon. Hooh boy. I do think he wants the best for fnaf considering it really was built upon wanting to help out his family (albeit. Also with spite cuz of the one game review that called his chipper and son’s game causing him to then turn into the Scary Animatronic idea) even if it was a 180 from his previously Christian games. The direction hes gone from it to being something for younger fans (at least for the most part, considering youtubers playing his later games esp with sotm). One of my cents is that i do think scott shouldve retired or fully stepped back from fnaf like he said after the whole thing with donating to anti-lgbt conservatives, but with the franchise’s current continuation i can’t really say anything beyond that and just shrug. he’s an odd guy to me but i dont really have too much thoughts on him given i dont know his full on history including his previous Christian-made creations (except for the one short film that has the one angel coughing and collapsing on the floor. That clip makes me chuckle LOL)

Overall fnaf is! The most interesting evolution ive ever had to witness ever since i was a child, from strong attachments and singing fnaf songs out loud to going on with the memes and then dashing away. 🪙 🪙 take these cents now
