Having an e-book makes us save space and time. The place where we keep our collection of books. In the meantime, we don't need to store books for fear of having to buy new ones if our book collection is lost. If we like to mark important things in the book but are afraid of damaging or making the book ugly because of scribbles, then the ebook reading tool allows us to mark important things in the ebook without fear of making it ugly because of scribbling.

If the publisher sells one million copies with 250 pages per copy for one book title. That means it takes 12,000 trees to produce just one book title (source: “How to Go Green: Books” by Cindy Katz and Jennifer Wilkov). That means we have a hand in destroying the environment, if we read books. If you feel that the font size in the e-book is too small, then the e-book reader allows us to change the font size easily. So there is no problem because of the font size. With e-book reading tools we can subscribe to newspapers or magazines online. So there is no need to wait for the newspaper deliveryman to deliver to our house. We don't have to bother going to bookstores because we just need to download e-books online from home. This saves time shopping and searching for books on bookstore shelves.

Will never run out of stock. Because e-books are available in digital form, they will always be available all the time. E-book reading tools do not require lighting when reading e-books. Because the display is able to illuminate, so we can save electrical energy. Regarding file size and capacity, e-books require small files so that with a small e-book tool it can accommodate thousands of ebooks. Imagine how easy school is because we only need to bring a tool the size of a novel that can store thousands of e-books. We can save money. E-books are of course much cheaper than books. He wrote that an academic journal which takes about 3-6 months (sometimes even longer) to research and write will be read by an average of ten people, among other facts about academic journal such as: (1) 82 percent of articles published in the humanities are not even cited once, (2) Only 20 percent of all the articles that are cited have actually been read, (3) And half of academic papers are never read by anyone other than their authors, peer reviewers, and journal editors. What Professor Richard and Daniel wrote on their respective blog were based on scientific studies that they found which involves statistical data enough to prove the first argument in this essay and that is the fact that probably no one read academic writing.

          One, among many, importance of Academic Writing is to bring out an information and supposedly “help” people in the public to understand the content of the writing so that they can apply it in whatever field they are currently working on thus, making Academic Writing useful the society. Sadly, Academic Writing is in bottom list of literary sources that people want to read to find useful information. Even Professor Richard Vedder would agree with the previous statement because he even said it himself in the same Forbes blog, which is mentioned in the second paragraph, and I quote “This blog will be read by far more readers than the typical meticulously researched paper that I wrote in my academic prime”. From those conjectures alone, we can infer that Academic Writing does not really contribute that much to public in context of being a source of useful information. Ergo, proving the other point in this essay which the uselessness of Academic Writing.

           Of course, in the world of academic, Academic Writing importance is almost undeniably irreplaceable. The style is the primary and perhaps the only one that scholars need to know and use to write information which are needed to be informed to anyone for that matter. It helps deliver information clearly, logically, and professionally. Academic writing also trains academic writers to think critically and analytically hence making their brain smarter. Using those 2 reasoning alone, academics will never agree to the 2 suppositions being made in this essay which is understandable.

           Knowing that more research and more viable arguments are needed to back the 2 points about Academic Writing in this essay, I believe that the information above are enough to expose the frailty of Academic Writing and its status as a very important literature for people. While seemingly slanderous, this essay’s purpose is far from it, because this essay is trying to offer something to discuss which can lead to the question of how to make more people read Academic Writing and make it useful to the society. As to the question “why” we would probably need another essay or even an academic writing that explain why Academic Writing is (probably) useless to the society. The bottom line is we need to remember that academic writing is supposed to give information to people so that people can “use” it in the society.

Pro number 2, The life cycle of paper is in itself damaging to the environment, it starts off with a tree being cut down and ends with its life either being burned or rotting which either way would emit harmful toxins to our earth’s atmospheres. Pro number 3, One of the biggest drawbacks of traditional textbooks is its accessibility, textbooks in general are heavy to carry around, especially when you consider that students have to usually carry a textbook for each subject that they are taking that weight accumulates. Electronic textbooks eliminate this issue, electronic textbooks are accessible on lightweight devices such as laptops and smartphones, meaning as long as you carry a device with you it is possible to access your textbooks.
