Hello friends! 💥 A huge area of Valencia (Spain) has been devastated by the DANA storm and I'm having these Emergency Commissions to donate what I can to the relief efforts. Areas in Albacete have also been affected by one of the worst disasters in our recent history.
At the moment, over 200 victims are confirmed dead and firefighters and volunteers are still looking for thousands of missing people.
I'm offering both chibi style commissions and portraits. You can shoot me an email to emedeme.art@gmail.@com or DM if interested. Payment upfront via PayPal (or Bizum, if you live in Spain).
You can also donate to Cruz Roja and other relief efforts. There are lots of Spanish artists trying to help, look for them on the #ArtistsForValencia hashtag on several SNSs. Thank you for spreading the word!

Hey everyone, this is not the typical post, but circumstances are uncertain at the moment.
The place I live in, Valencia, has been hit with the worst natural disaster in a century and we're currently struggling with the aftermath of the floods. Better info in this post.
I'm going to be participating in the ArtistsForValencia initiative. If you donate 5 euros or more to any link in the thread above or the additional ones below, and you show proof of your donation, I'll draw your OC or any other character of your choice (sfw). I can draw mostly any nonhuman characters.
Additional donation sites I vouch for:
ONG DISEC (GoFundMe): Group of volunteers that help people during disasters, the money goes directly to affected victims.
La Llar Del Gat (Bizum 08603): Local cat rescue/rehoming shelter, they're low on food and other resources destroyed by the flood.
Modepran (Bizum 33569): Animal rescue shelter, most of the site has been swept by the flood. They're currently taking in rescued dogs to find back their owners.
#artistsforvalencia#artists for valencia#dana#valencia#spain#commission#//for anyone who's able to donate#//any kind of help is appreciated even just spreading the word of what's happening here

WE ARE TRYING TO GET FUNDS TO PEOPLE THAT NEED THEM

Most of my friends don't have tumblr, so we are working mostly through Twitter, send proof of a donation of 5€ or more and a character and someone will draw them for you.
I live in Valencia and the villages of the area are devastated, all the info is in the thread of where to donate, using the #ArtistsForValencia there are other local artists doing small commisions for donations, anything helps really.

Opening Emergency Commissions to help people in Valencia.
All the information in this link but the TLDR is that all the valencian community in Spain suffered some horrible torrential rains and floods that caused a lot of casualties, a lot of deads and also a lot of people are still missing. It's been horrible.
If you donate 5€ or more to any charity or gofundme campaings listed down below + a screenshot of said donation (block any sensitive information), I'll draw a small portrait like those ones. Beware though, I won't draw complicated backgrounds, irl people (either people you know personally, celebrities, influencers, or live action characterizations), mecha (armor is ok), furry (yet), gore, NSFW, fetish art, lolicon/shotacon, and/or any kind of hateful content.
Donate if you can but if not, you can also share it

More links and campaigns:
Valencia's Food Bank: all benefits will be used to cover the basic needs of those affected by the cold drop
SOS Podenco Rescue: a registered charity dedicated to saving spanish podencos (a race of hounds). Their PayPal is [email protected]
ArtistsForValencia: more and more artists are joining the movement, opening emergency commissions to help the victims of the floodings! Some of them are from Valencia themselves and have been affected by the cold drop, so consider checking the hashtags in your social media! I'm going to share some of them that are advertising their services through tumblr:
@emedeme: link to their post
@dragonita-arts: link to their post
@endofunctress: link to their post
Please check them out, and look for the hashtag #ArtistsForValencia in twitter, bluesky, whatever you use!
It's the 4th day after the catastrophe and the towns are still destroyed. People are cleaning their own streets, taking bodies out of the mud and hidding them in cars so kids don't have to see them. The water is already carrying diseases and people are starting to get sick. It's infuriating, frustrating, and incredibly sad. There's still more than 20000 people disappeared.
Even if you can't donate, please... Share the word. The people of Valencia already feel isolated enough.
WHAT'S GOING ON IN SPAIN AND HOW YOU CAN HELP even if you live in a different country
Please read!!

Since October 29, Spain has been going through one of the worst flash floods of this century. The Community of Valencia has been the most affected, but the cold drop also passed through the south-west and is moving now to the north-east.
So far, 211 bodies have been found, and more than 2000 people are still missing. Most fatalities are from Valencia, entire towns are ravaged and isolated as they don't have electricity and the roads have been destroyed. A lot of people has lost their home, more than 15k homes don't have eletricity and they are in need of food, water and hygienic products
The reason Valencia was the most affected is because, despite given a warning 5 days before from the AEMET (Spain's official meteorological agency) of the possible mass floodings due to the cold drop, and the same morning of the catastrophe, it's authorities didn't warn it's people. Valencia's government waited 12h after the last warning from the AEMET (and it's president even said it would subside 2h before the floodings) before declaring the red alert, at 8pm. By then, many people was already caught in the flood while going or coming back from work.
Although politicians must be accountable, our priority is to help those in need, most which have lost their house, belongings and means to live. Because of this, here are some fundraisers and non-profits you can donate to help both people and animals that have been affected (these are from the thread I've just posted, but I'll add more if I find them!):
Horta Sud is a county in Valencia that has been the most affected by the floodings. People are leaving their houses because they're scared of the infrastructure getting damaged and even walking by foot to Valencia capital to get food.
Letur (Albacete) is a town that has been destroyed by the floods. You can help rebuild it by donating to this gofundme that's directly coordinated with the town hall.
Hambre Cero is a Spanish food bank non-profit that was founded after the earthquakes in Indonesia. They're currently active in Palestine and Lebanon but they'll also be giving food to those who need it in Spain.
El Refugio de María a dog shelter in Sueca (Valencia), is completely flooded, leaving the dogs visibly distressed and without a proper place to sleep. You can donate to their PayPal: [email protected]
Protectora San Antón is a shelter for cats and dogs in Jerez de la Frontera. It's flooded and the animals don't have a comfortable place to sleep in. If you live in Spain you can bizum them @ 635011715 If not, PayPal [email protected]
Help Sara and her family rebuild their home in Valencia.
Refugio Minipow was home to 50 rabbits and guinea pigs. Thankfully, the owners were able to move all the animals to their homes and those of their neighbors, though the shelter itself has been destroyed right after recent renovations. They accept help through PayPal, Bizum or a transference to their bank account.
Una copa por Valencia ("a drink to Valencia") is a campaign organized by Spanish influencer David Aliagas. The idea behind it is to donate the amount of money you would spend on drinks on a night out. He'll be joining effort with local non-profits.
Help the people of Mira (Cuenca) rebuild their hometown.
This group of artists is giving away drawings to people who donate at least 5€ to any of the fundraisers listed in the thread!!!

You can donate to Valencia's food bank by making a transfer to this bank account: ES86 2100 2806 6402 0009 8998

Thread of artists that are accepting comissions for Valencia:

This artist has been directed by the floodings. He just opened emergency comissions

I'll add more fundraising campaigns I find on Twitter/Bluesky, but until then, please consider helping in any way you can! Even if it's just by sharing!

Donation list for relief aid for the victims of the Dana cold-drop
Instead of listing them one by one, I'm putting together existing lists for you to pick.
Valencia relief gofundmes.
Letur (Albacete) relief gofundmes. This town has also been quite harsly hit and it's not getting as much coverage.
#ArtistsForValencia masterpost. With a minimum of 5€ donations to any organization, you can contact the artists on this list to get a sketch of something.
The spanish branch of the Red Cross has set up several donation bank accounts as well

This twitter account has been managing to get trucks full of clean water and food to Valencia. Don't start with their profile picture, I genuinely don't care as long as they're bringing help.
Twitter thread with donation links. There's footage on the top of the thread of some people getting carried away by the water, so be warned. The link contains the first of many donation links.
Hambre cero is focused on bringing food and water to disaster zones.
desaparecidosdana on Instagram is an account to raise awareness and help locate missing people. Use this only if you're a local.

there’s a beauty in the dichotomy of violence vs innocence when it comes to azriel and elain.
while elain is often pushed into the naive, boring, timid archetype people expect from her, she has her own propensity for violence when it’s needed to protect those she loves. whether she enjoys it or not, she will do what needs to be done.
and while azriel himself is often stereotyped as the violent torturer of the night court, he is still capable of stopping to admire the soft, innocent beauty of the world, especially when it comes to elain. something he was deprived of for so long, now at his fingertips and yet being denied again, but still he reaches for it.
thank you SO SO MUCH to @edazuri for drawing this up for me! it really captures the yin and yang of elriel’s relationship perfectly, and i’m so happy we got to do this for #artistsforvalencia 🫶
i know i wasn’t able to pull together a full 3 brothers x 3 sisters commission in time but i’ve been wanting to share this piece for a while so i hope you enjoy regardless!
please do not repost 💜

I am very angry and frustrated right now. My country is suffering from torrential rains that have left at least 200 dead in the southeast of Spain im the last 48 hours and dozens are still missing, all because of a meteorological phenomenon — a cold front — called DANA
There are many people trapped in their homes since the floods began, towns without water or electricity who cannot leave their homes because the streets are flooded or full of vehicles stuck together after being swept away by the water that impede the passage.

There are many other people who have lost everything, their homes, their businessess... People sleeping in bus stations or inside their universities. The supermakets in the affected cities look like this, either a disaster or almost empty because people keep buying non stop anything they can eat

But many executives and bosses expect their employees to go to work despite these circumstances because their lives are worth less than the shit that sticks to their shoes and the ONLY ones who are rebloging links to donate, asking others for help or volunteering to clean the streets or distribute food supplies are the people of my own country.
When there are floods or tornadoes in the USA we constantly see news about it on our channels and thousands of people retweet both inside and outside that country, they retweet the testimonies and cries for help, but we are just a vacation country, right? Almost nobody outside of Spain knows what's happening or talking about it. I have yet to see foreign celebrities or well-known streamers spreading awareness and it's so fucking frustrating the ones that give a single fuck are the ones who have less platform or money to help or those who are directly or indirectly affected by all of this
I am not saying what others suffer is less important or that people should stop talking about other country tragedies to focus on my country, but I think it's as important as if it happened anywhere else and our victims and affected people deserve to be heard too. And the worst thing? That many could have been evacuated safely if the government had not warned about the then upcoming floodings around 12 hours later than they should have. This is a negligence that has — and will keep costing in the following days — a concerning number of victims that could have been avoided otherwise.
Anyway, here are some threads in twitter explaining better than me what's happening and how others can help.
🧵WHAT IS HAPPENING ON VALENCIA AND HOW YOU CAN HELP: #ArtistsForValencia
🧵 WHAT'S GOING ON IN SPAIN AND HOW YOU CAN HELP even if you live in a different country
Esto es lo que va a pasar: / This is what's going to happen: (a thread explaining how the government is going to blame each other and sweep under the rug their fucking disaster that was the management of this crisis instead of admitting how and why they're at fault for an increasing number of deads and affected families that could have been easily avoided or reduced if they had warned about the floodings on time)
Another reminder explaining how late the alarm was
"A drink for Valencia" campaign
Please keep in mind that some people in these threads explain themselves in Spanish, it costs nothing to click on "translate" to read it in your language. Thanks for reading and please share
