A very gratifying and rich portion of the sky to image. This is a high resolution image taken using 2500 individual exposures in 100+ panels stitched together to form a mosaic leading to a final resolution close to 1000 megapixels.

Two shots of the Milky Way from a hilltop in central Pennsylvania, nice and far from any major city or source of light pollution. The orange glow and haze near the horizon comes mostly from smoke particles still blowing down from Canada. The first shot was during nautical twilight, and the second was shot two hours later during the darkest portion of the night.

Took this on one of the creepiest nights out alone on Wombeyan Caves Road, from dodging wombats to hearing random noises in the pitch black, I threw all the gear into the car as soon as I heard the shutter close after I took the last exposure and got out of there quick smart. 

Combined a single 2 minute sub of the foreground with a tracked 2 minute sub of the sky with a Canon 6D and Samyang 14mm on an Astrotrac TT320X-AG.
