ADVANTAGES OF USING ONLINE AUCTION SOFTWARE
You’ve probably heard of Auction Program Software if you own and operate an online business on one of the main auction websites. So, what exactly is it, and why might you require it? There are many different types of auction management software available. Programs for selling tools, market analysis, sourcing, improvements, and marketing are among the most common types of software. Depending on…

tell me about your defense contract pleage
Oh boy!
To be fair, it's nothing grandiose, like, it wasn't about "a new missile blueprint" or whatever, but, just thinking about what it could have become? yeesh.
So, let's go.
For context, this is taking place in the early 2010s, where I was working as a dev and manager for a company that mostly did space stuff, but they had some defence and security contracts too.
One day we got a new contract though, which was... a weird one. It was state-auctioned, meaning that this was basically a homeland contract, but the main sponsor was Philip Morris. Yeah. The American cigarette company.
Why? Because the contract was essentially a crackdown on "illegal cigarette sales", but it was sold as a more general "war on drugs" contract.
For those unaware (because chances are, like me, you are a non-smoker), cigarette contraband is very much a thing. At the time, ~15% of cigarettes were sold illegally here (read: they were smuggled in and sold on the street).
And Phillip Morris wanted to stop that. After all, they're only a small company worth uhhh... oh JFC. Just a paltry 150 billion dollars. They need those extra dollars, you understand?
Anyway. So they sponsored a contract to the state, promising that "the technology used for this can be used to stop drug deals too". Also that "the state would benefit from the cigarettes part as well because smaller black market means more official sales means a higher tax revenue" (that has actually been proven true during the 2020 quarantine).
Anyway, here was the plan:
Phase 1 was to train a neural network and plug it in directly to the city's video-surveillance system, in order to detect illegal transactions as soon as they occur. Big brother who?
Phase 2 was to then track the people involved in said transaction throughout the city, based on their appearance and gait. You ever seen the Plainsight sheep counting video? Imagine something like this but with people. That data would then be relayed to police officers in the area.
So yeah, an automated CCTV-based tracking system. Because that's not setting a scary precedent.
So what do you do when you're in that position? Let me tell you. If you're thrust unknowingly, or against your will, into a project like this,
Note. The following is not a legal advice. In fact it's not even good advice. Do not attempt any of this unless you know you can't get caught, or that even if you are caught, the consequences are acceptable. Above all else, always have a backup plan if and when it backfires. Also don't do anything that can get you sued. Be reasonable.
Let me introduce you to the world of Corporate Sabotage! It's a funny form of striking, very effective in office environments.
Here's what I did:
First of all was the training data. We had extensive footage, but it needed to be marked manually for the training. Basically, just cropping the clips around the "transaction" and drawing some boxes on top of the "criminals". I was in charge of several batches of those. It helped that I was fast at it since I had video editing experience already. Well, let's just say that a good deal of those markings were... not very accurate.
Also, did you know that some video encodings are very slow to process by OpenCV, to the point of sometimes crashing? I'm sure the software is better at it nowadays though. So I did that to another portion of the data.
Unfortunately the training model itself was handled by a different company, so I couldn't do more about this.
Or could I?
I was the main person communicating with them, after all.
Enter: Miscommunication Master
In short (because this is already way too long), I became the most rigid person in the project. Like insisting on sharing the training data only on our own secure shared drive, which they didn't have access to yet. Or tracking down every single bug in the program and making weekly reports on those, which bogged down progress. Or asking for things to be done but without pointing at anyone in particular, so that no one actually did the thing. You know, classic manager incompetence. Except I couldn't be faulted, because after all, I was just "really serious about the security aspect of this project. And you don't want the state to learn that we've mishandled the data security of the project, do you, Jeff?"
A thousand little jabs like this, to slow down and delay the project.
At the end of it, after a full year on this project, we had.... a neural network full of false positives and a semi-working visualizer.
They said the project needed to be wrapped up in the next three months.
I said "damn, good luck with that! By the way my contract is up next month and I'm not renewing."
Last I heard, that city still doesn't have anything installed on their CCTV.
tl;dr: I used corporate sabotage to prevent automated surveillance to be implemented in a city--
hey hold on
wait
what
HEY ACTUALLY I DID SOME EXTRA RESEARCH TO SEE IF PHILLIP MORRIS TRIED THIS SHIT WITH ANOTHER COMPANY SINCE THEN AND WHAT THE FUCK
HUH??????
well what the fuck was all that even about then if they already own most of the black market???
#i'm sorry this got sidetracked in the end#i'm speechless#anyway yeah!#sometimes activism is sitting in an office and wasting everyone's time in a very polite manner#i learned that one from the CIA actually

TRIPITAKA - the lost spiritual sequel to Cosmology of Kyoto was found
This post is a compilation of a series of tweets I have composed over a period of weeks during this summer.
For years, it was uncertain whether TRIPITAKA 玄奘三蔵求法の旅, by Soft Edge, had in fact ever been published. I remind the more absent-minded readers that this is the studio responsible for the mythical CD-ROM Cosmology of Kyoto, originally released in Japan in 1993, later published in the United States by Yano Electric in 1995. Knowledge of this their second and final production comes solely from the online CVs of producers Hiroshi Ōnishi and Mori Kōichi. No other information could be found online, and no actual copy of the game was known to exist.
Earlier this year, this disc surfaced at Yahoo Auctions. It sold for nearly $300 after 24 bids.
As suggested by its tile, which translates to Xuanzang Sanzo's Dharma-Seeking Journey, it was always assumed that the game illustrated episodes of the life of the celebrated Chinese Buddhist monk, particularly his 7th century pilgrimage to India. The captures printed on the back not only show a character highly reminiscent of the ancient scholar, they depict a variety of scenes taking place in China and India.
According to the severely incomplete archived version of PD Inc's website, the Japanese publisher responsible for this digipack, it was available for sale at museums hosting the 1999 Silk Road Journey To The West exhibition, which suitably matches the date printed on the back cover. However, this date presents yet another open question, as the Ōnishi-San and Kōichi-San bios both list it as a 1995 production.
The technical specifications may provide an enlightening clue, as they refer to Windows 95, 640x480px resolution and an 8-Bit color mode. This indicates that TRIPITAKA was indeed developed sometime between 1993 and 1995, although it was never published in the CD-ROM game circuit, certainly not in the immediate years after its development was completed. Combined with the data retrieved from the publisher's website, the edition shown here appears to have been produced solely for the occasion, as a means to diversify the museum shop catalog for this major exhibit, given the shared theme.
It would have been nearly impossible, had the program been in fact published in 1995, for a single copy to not have been spotted or mentioned online by the many Japanese collectors who have attempted to locate it for decades, unsuccessfully. On the other hand, a CD-ROM that was sold at a museum exhibit is likely to be purchased by visitors who were entirely unaware of the item's relevance as an elusive multimedia gem.
If a tangent is permitted here, both productions are inextricably linked with the museum space, and as far as I can speculate, Cosmology of Kyoto was, itself, also published with the intention of being made available in gallery stores in addition to computer game retailers. I say this because this was a production made possible by collaborative efforts including a variety of Japanese museums, to the extent these are referenced by name in the game's credits.
Considering the price at which the item was sold at auction, I was fairly certain that it was purchased by one such video game collector who knew exactly what they were bidding for. Later in July, I was able to locate the buyer and establish contact. Initially, the buyer was only able to produce this screenshot of the disc program launcher. The title reads "Cosmology of Asia", validating the claims that Soft Edge was in effect planning for series of edutainment software prior to its demise in the mid-90s.
In my second contact with the owner, I asked if he was available to produce a disc image and share it online for purposes of software preservation. The owner politely declined, stating that this was not something he was willing to do but offered to record the following gameplay video instead.
youtube
At a glance, the art style of Tripitaka is unsurprisingly similar to that of Cosmology. Most of its episodes occur during the day, whereas the latter was mostly played under the dark cover of night. The first scene depicts a dying Xuanzang reminiscing on his journeys in the company of a young chronicler. Structurally, both games are also nearly indistinguishable from one another, producing ample historical information for context, including detailed maps and chronologies.
TRIPITAKA was considered to be lost media for decades. As such, the importance of this footage could hardly be overstated. I would not hesitate to compare this development to the unearthing of Osamu Sato's Chu-Teng, the Eastern Mind sequel that was also deemed lost for many years, miraculously found during the time this blog was inactive.
I am delighted to have played a minor role in the unraveling of this thirty year old mystery, and can hardly contain my enthusiasm, as I now find myself equipped with sufficient information to produce a full post concerning a game about which I could not have written more than a sentence, just last year.
I would also like to thank the author of the @mendelpalace Tumblr for his timely alert regarding the Yahoo listing.

Thoughts on creating Art on the 3ds

Credentials:
3ds lover since 2011 and owner since 2013
Art student and art creator
Lover of digital art and technology from the 2010s
So recently I bought myself a 3ds XL which is super exciting! I’ve wanted one of these for a really long time and my hands have officially grown from small child size so the original 3ds is a bit uncomfortable for me to hold. I’ve gotta say, it’s kind of wild to go from a little kid to an adult with the 3ds still my main gaming system but I couldn’t be happier about it!

I bought my 3ds XL off of Goodwill Auctions and I spent a little over $120 on it, and that included physical copies of Mario Kart 7, Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, Super Mario 3D Land, and Yoshi’s Island DS, so a really good deal! I’ve been lurking on Facebook Marketplace and Mercari for a while, but I couldn’t find anything close to that good of a deal (at least nothing that wasn’t secretly a scam.) Best Christmas present I’ve gotten since my original 3ds back in 2013!
Anyways, I’ve been on break from art school because my partner unexpectedly passed away and I am not doing well with that. Gaming has been a big help for me in this time. Nintendogs and Animal Crossing have helped me feel a lot less lonely even though I am alone now. I still love art though, so I’ve been messing around with that on my 3ds since I always have it with me. I was actually playing a lot of Pokémon Art Academy with my little sisters the week before she passed, just in my free time. Now that I have a whole lot more free time, I’ve gotten through almost the entire game, and have played around with a bunch of other drawing software on the 3ds.

Essentially, here I want to do a mini personal retrospective on my history of doing art on the DS and go through and then later review all the different drawing programs on the 3ds on a different post
I did my first ever animations on Flipnote when I was little and it made animation seem like something I actually could do myself, instead of something that those grown professional artists did that somehow made entire worlds. I have a lot of fond memories of making Flipnotes with my friends and trading them around, making our own memes before we really knew what that was. This was on my DSi which I had before the 3ds. What a device!
In my animation class, which I did not end up getting to finish due to the aforementioned death of my partner, I did several first drafts and test animations on my 3ds instead of on the big Wacom tablets (much to the confusion of my professor. Sorry about that Professor!) I’m used to drawing and painting being things that fit in my hands instead of the huge 18 by 24 sketchbooks we had to use in figure drawing or the huge drawing tablets. They definitely have their uses, but they were really intimidating to me. Most of my art work over the past decade has been very small and very detailed instead of huge gestural drawings, and while I did have to get used to that eventually, I still have a preference for the handheld, which translates great into digital art on the 3ds!

(This acrylic painting I did in high school is 4 by 6, which is roughly the size of a 3ds xl.)
I used to do lots of doodles on the notes app on my childhood 3ds and also played around with Flipnote 3d, though I never got as into it as I did the DSi version when I was littler

Nowadays I like to do more detailed painterly things in Art Academy, cartoons in Pokémon Art Academy, and a lot of my doodles in Flipnote 3d. I love the small form factor and with the 3ds XL I find that it’s easier to make things that I’m actually happy with. I wish more traditional digital art applications had some of the features that the 3ds ones have, like sound effects, realistic features, and built in button control.

There’s a lot of options of ways and applications you can do art in on the 3ds and my hyperfixation on the 3ds is definitely fed by that fact. I’ll be going through and reviewing all of them from my perspective and once I’ve done that, I’ll add a link below.
Thank you for reading!

Hurry, She Needs You

Summary: Natasha becomes ill from what they think is food poisoning. Tony and Bruce try to care for her until Clint arrives home from a deep cover mission. Part 1 of 6
Whumptober Day 1: Swooning | “How many fingers am I holding up?”
Natasha whump, light whump, eventual happy ending
“OK, I made my speech. I'm ready to leave." Tony Stark loosened his silk, Ferragamo tie and unbuttoned the top of his white dress shirt.
"Photo op with the Board of Directors and then we can go." His sultry companion tossed her long red hair over her shoulder, surveying the room.
New York’s finest came out for the city’s annual Public Works Charity Auction. Natasha had agreed to accompany Tony while Pepper was at the Clean Energy Conference in Chicago.
"Really?" He asked, eyes lighting up. "Pepper always makes me stay and schmoose."
"Do you want me to act like your wife tonight?" Natasha arched an eyebrow and toyed with her empty rocks glass.
"That's a loaded question, Agent Romanov." He smirked and signaled for another drink.
“If anything,” Tony lowered his voice, “I need you to use your skills on Aldrich Killian. There are whispers he’s experimenting with biologicals and I want to know what he’s up to.”
“Maybe the next party. I’m tasked to only one crazy billionaire tonight.”
"Aren't I the lucky one?” Stark raked his eyes over her elegant figure.
Natasha wore a simple yet sexy little black dress with a diamond necklace, earrings and a plain black band on her right ring finger. He joked that the ring had a hidden needle full of poison inside.
“Aldrich couldn’t handle you in that dress tonight, anyway.” That got a smirk out of her. “Speaking of simps, where’s Barton?”
Her face softened, becoming almost wistful.
“Too far.”
“Excuse me, Mr. Stark.” A waiter interrupted and held out a short glass with clear liquid, another sat on a small tray. “Compliments of Mr. Killian.”
Tony looked across the room at Aldrich then turned away from his top competitor and rolled his eyes.
Natasha accepted both, thanked the young man and downed the first drink in one gulp. She held up the second and toasted to Killian in thanks.
“He doesn’t look pleased that I drank his expensive liquor.”
“I'm sure he wanted to see me choke on it.”
“Bitter finish,” she scrunched her nose, “I did you a favor.”
The host of the evening announced a silent auction would begin in ten minutes.
“Romanov, get us out of here.”
“Follow me.” Natasha stood but quickly put a hand to her forehead.
“You okay?” Tony jumped to her side when she swooned and grabbed for the edge of the table.
Tony laced his arm through hers. She giggled.
“Wait. Are you drunk?”
"No.” Natasha yanked her arm free, wobbling a little as she did so.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" He’d seen Natasha drink way more than tonight but never slur or stumble.
"Funny. Do you want to leave? Or do you want me to announce that the after party is at your house?” She turned towards the podium.
“No, no.” He stopped her. “No more jokes. Get us out of here.”
On the ride home, Natasha was quiet. Tony kept from commenting on the fine sheen of sweat glistening over her face and neck or how she kept her eyes closed, making little noises with every turn of the car.
He had his own private entrance to his penthouse but offered to ride up with Nat.
“I’m fine.” She clipped and fumbled into the elevator.
Tony hovered until the number to her floor stopped and started back down. The doors opened.
The empty compartment should have made him feel better, but it didn't.
Stark wandered down to his basement lab and poured a scotch, contemplating on how to check on his favorite bodyguard without her knowing he was checking on her.
Hey. he texted. Does William Tell know we went on a date?
Waiting for a reply, Tony flipped on the news and opened his new software system, an advanced A. I. program he’d been working on for the Tower.
Glancing at his phone, he frowned. No response yet. He tried again.
Breakfast in the morning? Happy wants to go over the new security install with you.
His knee bounced impatiently waiting for a response.
At the five minute mark, Tony called for Jarvis.
“Jarvis, security override, Stark616. What is the status of Agent Romanov?”
“Agent Romanov’s heart rate and blood pressure are abnormal. Vitals indicate she is unconscious, sir.”
Tony raced to the elevator.
“Agent Romanov is in Agent Barton’s quarters, the master bathroom.”
Tony would’ve enjoyed that little piece of information any other time, right now, he needed to know Nat was okay.
Rushing through Clint’s apartment, Tony burst into the bathroom.
“Oh my God, Natasha.” She was unconscious on the floor. “Nat, wake up! Jarvis, call Bruce!”
tbc...entire story will be posted below after part 6

From Object Site:
PPXL SomeModded OddAIO SimBook LP This already enhanced LP edition Simbook has someModded OddAIO copper shunt vapor cooler thing installed onto it. IDK the specifics, you would have to ask the mastermind Jonesy and his company of inventors about them, but that means it is one of the most overpowered machines on the market. Supercharge your resume by learning any skill you can think of at lightning fast speeds so you can get that work from home job you've been dreaming of, video chat with friends in 4k so you never lose touch, doom-scroll socials, and pay your bills like never before. It's my favorite SimBook LP, and not just because I got a stylish custom color because Jonesy and I are close; Hopefully it'll be yours too!
Skilling time has been adjusted so from a full green, sim will gain 3-5 points before they complain about needs.
Doom-scrolling Social Media gives same amount of social as playing games does fun, I believe play games has stayed unmodified.
Modded from LeesPlays Enhanced computers, which is modded from OddSim ElixirBuy and SomeSimThings banking and work from home computers. Damn, writing that sentence I realized it was some odd number of modders that worked on this until I got into the mix, anyway:
LeesPlay has a video and an archive, not a site so instead of a description from their site: it combines the three computers below, here is the current url to their YouTube channel for credit: https://www.youtube.com/c/LeesPlay . If you didn't download their archive, I've included all necessary files, but if you have their archive, you can delete the OddSims_Deliver_Coding.far file I included as I haven't modified that file yet.
OddSim ElixirBuy, from OddSim site: With this computer, you can research logic, creativity, cooking, and mechanical skills over the Internet. You can also buy up to 400 different items off online auctions, and order grocery, gardening, and gift items in bulk. Save money and have fun!
Has your ability to compete in online gaming been hampered by an inferior machine? This rig understands and will put even the casual gamer in the winners circle. Take your first steps into the performance gaming arena with this hard working machine. Featuring the graphic-minded Intel Pentium 4 processor, a smooth display, semi-surround sound and variety of cool applications, the Elixir Express was designed for the working and playing Sim. If you're worried about style, don't. The streamlined case and ergonomic speakers blend a flare of the future seamlessly into any decor. So if you're looking for a substantial upgrade, one which runs all the games you want, but doesn't cost you an arm and a leg this is the choice for you.
Additional features are available when combined with each expansion pack. Grocery, gardening, and gift orders require Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed or Makin' Magic.
SSS Work from Home computer, from SomeSimThings site: This computer have all the programs Sims are used to find. They can look for a job, play games and children can study for school. But that's not all. This machine has been upgraded with software that will make it possible for Sims who have a job to work from home. All jobs have some paperwork that needs to be done. And there is a mailing program. Sims can send emails to their friends.
SSS Online Bank computer, from SomeSimThings site: This computer has been updated with a connection to the bank. Sims can pay their bills online. And it's so easy a child can do it! Children can also pay the bills. No online shopping (yet?)
I am hoping that the Legacy re-release will breathe new life into the game so I made 2 versions of this menu. One is the one that I use in my game, that I hope to continue to modify in the future to allow ordering C&CEnterprises gardening mod objects to reduce first tree clutter and the second mostly uses the original menu tree style so if anyone else decides to do another modification on LeesPlays Enahanced Computers too, even other ElixirBuy mod or SomeSimThings combo mod, it would be compatible with that/those version.
You only need one.

From Object Catalog Description: PinkPxls ppxlSimBook someModded OddAIO SimBook LP - 650 SimCity College student Jonesy took an LP edition SimBook did some hardware shunt modd, then added an some odd vapor chamber AIO and tweaked voltage settings with a company of classmates until they managed record breaking benchmarks as part of their class video presentation. When the video went viral, some odd chronically online LP edition owning, tech enthusiast nerdy Sims started DIYing the modd by following along with the video as a tutorial for the price of and a few hours labor. But when some companies saw modd community posts, views, odd higher than average engagement numbers and the 3D printing files becoming freely available for use, they realized some of the product margins and knew they needed to contact Joneys' company right away so they could collaborate on mass production of units. Jonesy and co decided to take an offer and drop out of college. They sold for enough to still be set for life as long as the money is handled responsibly, they moved to private islands and haven't been heard from since the sale. Did they FIRE strategically or are Jonesy and Co "sell-outs"? As long as Sims can game at higher FPS, video chat IN 4K, learn NEW skills FASTER!1!, and doom-scroll socials with the bleeding edge of portable technology because of some modding with an odd AIO on a definitive SimBook LP in class by Jonesy and their company of classmates, does it even matter?

The Mars Climate Orbiter and 1700s pirates
Today I will be engaging in my favorite sport of "extreme leaps of logic" by blaming the failure of the Mars Climate Orbiter in 1998 on Caribbean piracy in the late 1700s.
America, being brand-new right around 1793, had some leeway in the various systems to officially adopt. Thomas Jefferson wanted to look into the also-new metric system from France. The metric system had been devised as a part of the French Revolution's removal of archaic systems (not everything caught on, there was also a decimalized calendar and clock with 10 hours per day, 100 minutes per hour, etc.).
At Jefferson's request, France sent a scientist, Joseph Dombey, to America, and Dombey packed along a set of tools and calibrated items to demonstrate the system. Dombey's ship went off course in a storm and never made it to America. British privateers stole Dombey's tools and, not knowing what they were, auctioned them off. Dombey died in their captivity, and Jefferson never received what he would need to properly introduce America to the metric system.
So, how does that relate to something that happened 205 years later? NASA as a rule uses the metric system just because it's a little silly to build spaceships with measurements based on how long Henry I's arm was. The Mars Climate Orbiter, a satellite designed to orbit around Mars and monitor long-term changes, was not built directly by NASA, though. It was built (and programmed) by contractor Lockheed Martin, who very much did use imperial units in their software.
After a 9.5 month, 669 million km trip to Mars, the Mars Climate Orbiter smashed into the Martian atmosphere and likely disintegrated. As a rule, that's not what satellites are supposed to do. NASA's control software had told it to maintain a height of 110 km from the surface. This is done by firing retrothrusters with very precise amounts of force, measured by NASA in newton-seconds. However, Lockheed Martin used the much sillier unit of "pound-force seconds" in their software. Too much force was applied to the satellite and it bounced off the atmosphere and was destroyed.
Lockheed Martin was the source of the unit conversion problem, but NASA maintains that responsibility for the failure rests of the space program, for not having sufficient quality control over the contractor-produced software. I, though, am going to place the full blame on those pirates in 1793, without whom this whole mess could have been avoided.

Don’t waste another minute. Reach out to your local android retailer to secure your very own 1800 series android and Make A Change For The Better, Today.
The first 20 droids were used for extensive market research, distributed to pre-selected low income families; free for life in exchange for frequent detailed feedback.
Overall the response was positive. A few bugs and the occasional glitch. Nothing overly concerning, especially considering the intended size of this project.
The droid’s appeal seemed to be near universal, appealing to children, adults, and even the elderly. Within the first six months, 80% of the families reported their 1800 having become an essential part of their daily family life. The project was deemed a success, and so began the ruthless marketing.
The overhead cost for these droids was astronomically high. If the company was to have any hope of making a profit, they needed to convince as many people as possible that these droids were essential. People weren’t going to part with tens of thousands of dollars lightly, and many others would hardly have that kind of money just floating around. Luckily it wasn’t difficult to negotiate financial agreements with several prominent money lenders, opening the market to nearly anyone who wanted one.
Pre-orders for the 1800 series were healthy, though they could be higher. So it was decided by some high-level executive to make a donation to a charity auction. Four droids for the highest bidders. Worth more than their weight in free advertising among those with lots of money, and a sizeable tax write-off.
They needed to be the greatest thing the Company had ever produced so for two weeks four droids were activated, tested, and updated. To tell the difference between them they were dressed in differently coloured t-shirts; Blue, yellow, red, and green. At the end of each day the droids needed to charge and would be left together in a small room.
They would talk of their accomplishments that day, and their expectations for the auction. With each passing day, it slowly dawned on them that they would likely be bought by different people, taken to different households, and given different roles. It was likely that after these two weeks they’d never see each other again. It wasn’t a problem to begin with but as they developed, as their software improved and they learned more of existence, it became harder to process.
It’s not their fault; a fundamental part of their programming is to quickly establish familial connections with those around them. There’s nothing in the code that limits it solely to humans.
In the last few days the engineers observed distinct personalities and behaviours. G-1820 or ‘Blue’ was a natural leader, directing and delegating in search of the optimal solution each time. G-1821 or ‘Red’ was a droid of action, testing high in immediate risk detection and physical protection. G-1822 or ‘Yellow’ demonstrated high levels of empathy and care, as well as an optimistic outlook. G-1823 or ‘Green’ was the quickest to process high levels of data input, processing, organising, and implementing based on statistical calculations.
The auction was a roaring success, the droids selling for well over a million dollars combined. One final set of tests to make sure they were ready and the droids were assigned to their new owners.
Blue was sent to the highest bidder; a ruthless self-made CEO with a company worth millions. It was an undeniable power play. If the bot were to malfunction in any way it would be the ultimate shot in the foot so a large additional donation was made directly to the Company’s own coffers for some intense customisations.
Red was assigned to a mid level celebrity who had recently signed a very lucrative contract. An impulse purchase, it was weeks before he finally assigned any tasks to the droid. Possibly the world’s most expensive personal trainer, Red is tasked with monitoring his owner’s habits, health and general well-being.
Yellow was sold to very wealthy family who wanted a reliable caretaker for their three young children. One they can trust not to prioritise anything, even themself, over the children. He’s a companion, a teacher, a babysitter, an entertainer, everything they could possibly need to experience a safe and enriched childhood

The Rise of Web3 Crypto Bots: Unlocking 24/7 Automation for Decentralized Finance and NFT Markets
As the decentralized internet matures, automation has become one of the most critical drivers of innovation. From decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols to NFT marketplaces, the demand for tools that can operate continuously, efficiently, and without human intervention has never been greater. Enter Web3 crypto bots—the intelligent software agents that are revolutionizing how individuals and projects interact with blockchain networks.
Unlike traditional trading bots or simple Web2 automations, Web3 crypto bots are designed specifically for decentralized ecosystems. They connect directly to smart contracts, monitor on-chain activity, execute transactions, and facilitate real-time communication between users and protocols. This new wave of bots is unlocking opportunities that were once impossible or prohibitively complex.
Why Web3 Crypto Bots Are Gaining Traction
One of the biggest challenges in DeFi and NFT markets is the constant need to manage time-sensitive tasks. Whether it’s claiming staking rewards, rebalancing liquidity pools, or bidding on NFT auctions, the window of opportunity often closes in seconds. Web3 crypto bots solve this by working 24/7 without breaks, ensuring that you never miss a critical moment.
For traders, Web3 crypto bots can automatically scan decentralized exchanges for arbitrage opportunities, execute complex trading strategies, or manage portfolio allocations in real time. In NFT markets, bots can monitor minting events, track floor prices, and purchase tokens the instant they become available. This level of speed and automation is impossible to match manually.
How Web3 Crypto Bots Work
The architecture of Web3 crypto bots is fundamentally different from older bots that relied on centralized APIs. Instead, these bots communicate directly with smart contracts through blockchain nodes. When a specific event occurs—like a change in token price, a contract update, or an NFT sale—the bot instantly reacts according to pre-programmed logic.
Here are a few examples of what Web3 crypto bots can do:
Liquidity Management: Automatically add or remove liquidity based on price thresholds or yield optimization strategies.
Trading Automation: Execute buy or sell orders across decentralized exchanges with no manual input.
NFT Sniping: Monitor NFT drops and secure rare assets the moment they are listed.
Community Engagement: Distribute token rewards or governance tokens to community members automatically.
Risk Management: Track collateral ratios in lending protocols and trigger repayments or liquidations when thresholds are breached.
Benefits for DeFi and NFT Projects
DeFi protocols and NFT marketplaces are increasingly integrating Web3 crypto bots to deliver better experiences to their users. For project teams, bots help automate processes that would otherwise require large support and operations teams. For users, they provide peace of mind and a competitive edge.
Here are some core benefits of deploying Web3 crypto bots:
Efficiency: Bots work around the clock, eliminating downtime.
Speed: Transactions are executed the moment conditions are met.
Transparency: Every action is verifiable on-chain.
Scalability: Projects can serve thousands of users without additional overhead.
Accessibility: No-code bot launchers now make it easier than ever for non-technical teams to deploy bots.
The Future of Web3 Crypto Bots
As more capital and users flow into Web3 ecosystems, the complexity of decentralized applications will only increase. Web3 crypto bots are poised to become indispensable infrastructure—just like smart contracts themselves.
In the coming years, we can expect Web3 crypto bots to integrate with AI, enabling predictive strategies and adaptive behaviors. Imagine bots that learn your trading preferences, monitor sentiment across decentralized social networks, or collaborate with other bots to optimize yield strategies. This level of sophistication will further democratize access to advanced financial tools and make DeFi and NFT participation accessible to everyone.
Whether you are a project founder, a trader, or a casual NFT collector, understanding and embracing Web3 crypto bots is no longer optional. It’s the key to staying competitive and unlocking the full potential of decentralized markets.

Why Do Cars Go To Auction? Discover How To Profit
Car auctions are vibrant markets where automobiles are traded, attracting car enthusiasts seeking their ideal ride and sellers offloading inventory. But the question often arises: why do cars go to auction and why do cars go to auto auction?
In this article, we’ll journey through the complex world of auto auctions, illuminating the numerous factors contributing to vehicle arrival at the auction block.
Why Do Cars Go to Auction? Exploring the Automotive Auction Ecosystem
The automotive industry revolves around car auctions, an essential marketplace for buying and selling vehicles of all sizes and conditions. But what maintains the health and vitality of this ecosystem? The crucial roles that auctioneer, silent auction, and non-profit auction software play in providing the solution reveal themselves. With the help of these technological advancements, auctions are now more accessible and effective than ever before.
Why Do Cars Go to Auction?
Understanding the factors that propel vehicles to the auction floor is crucial before we delve into the impact of auction software. Numerous factors, including off-lease vehicles, repossessions, retired fleet cars, and seized assets, contribute to the increase in automobiles entering the auction world.
Why Do Cars Go to Auction? Key Reasons Behind the Process
Vehicles trade hands in a busy marketplace called car auctions for various reasons. Understanding the multiple forces at play is crucial to comprehend why vehicles end up at auction. We will delve into these causes in more detail below, illuminating the various situations that result in car auctions.
Why Do Vehicles End Up at Car Auctions? Understanding the Key Factors
Off-Lease VehiclesAt auto auctions, a sizable portion of the inventory consists of off-lease vehicles. When someone leases a car, they commit to a predetermined lease term, typically two to three years long. Lessees must choose between returning the car to the leasing company at the end of the lease term or buying it. Many decide to return the car, which causes a steady influx of well-kept, low-mileage vehicles.
Repossessed Vehicles Another common sight on the auction block is repossessed vehicles. Lenders have the legal right to seize the car as collateral when people finance the purchase of a vehicle but fail to make loan payments.
Fleet Vehicles Rental car companies and corporate entities with sizable vehicle fleets frequently update their fleets to maintain efficiency and safety standards. Fleet vehicles are frequently auctioned off once they reach a certain age or mileage. These cars may have received meticulous maintenance, which makes them appealing choices for buyers looking for dependable used cars.
Seized and Confiscated Vehicles Vehicles used in illegal activities like drug trafficking, smuggling, or other crimes are frequently seized and confiscated by law enforcement agencies as part of their efforts to combat criminal activities. These vehicles are sold at auction, and the money raised helps fund government programs or law enforcement operations. Due to the wide variations in the histories and conditions of these vehicles, buyers at these auctions should proceed cautiously.
Trade-Ins People frequently opt to trade in their old vehicle at a dealership when buying a new one. These trade-in cars are commonly sold at auction. Auctions are a quick and effective way for dealerships and private sellers to sell these vehicles. The makes and models available to buyers at trade-in auctions range widely from affordable cars to high-end automobiles.

Unlocking the Power of Darkweb Data API Integration for Modern Cybersecurity
In today’s hyper-connected world, digital threats are no longer limited to surface-level cyberattacks. As threat actors grow more organized, sophisticated, and collaborative, the dark web has emerged as a marketplace for stolen data, malware, exploit kits, and intelligence-sharing among cybercriminals. To safeguard critical assets, organizations must reach beyond conventional firewalls and detection systems. This is where Darkweb data API integration becomes a game-changing element in a modern cybersecurity strategy.

This comprehensive blog explores how integrating dark web data into your security infrastructure gives you early warnings of impending breaches, enhances your visibility into adversarial behavior, and helps protect your digital ecosystem before damage is done.
Understanding the Dark Web
The internet is structured in three distinct layers: the surface web (publicly accessible content), the deep web (password-protected and unindexed pages), and the dark web—a hidden layer that requires specialized software like Tor to access. While the dark web isn’t inherently malicious, it is widely used for illegal and covert activities, including data sales, hacking forums, and illicit trade.
Monitoring this space is crucial for identifying threats that traditional tools overlook.
The Cybercrime Economy and Emerging Threats
The global cybercrime economy is estimated to cost trillions annually. From corporate credentials being auctioned off in hacker forums to ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) kits being promoted to aspiring cybercriminals, the dark web fuels most modern data breaches and malware campaigns.
Companies without visibility into these networks remain unaware of leaked credentials, breached assets, or upcoming targeted campaigns—until it’s too late.
What Is Darkweb Data API Integration?
Darkweb data API integration refers to the secure incorporation of dark web monitoring feeds into an organization’s cybersecurity systems using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). These APIs provide structured access to real-time and historical intelligence collected from threat actor forums, marketplaces, encrypted chatrooms, and breach databases.
Rather than manually scouring dark web forums (an impossible task), security teams receive filtered, relevant insights through automation.
Why Surface-Level Monitoring Isn’t Enough
Firewalls, SIEMs, and endpoint detection platforms often miss external threats brewing beyond the organization’s digital perimeter. The problem is not with these tools but with the visibility gap—they can’t detect chatter or planning among cybercriminals unless integrated with external intelligence sources.
By bridging this gap, API-driven dark web feeds deliver deeper situational awareness.
Key Benefits of Darkweb API-Driven Threat Intelligence
Let’s explore the practical benefits of leveraging dark web APIs:
Proactive Breach Detection: Get alerts when your credentials or digital assets appear in forums or dumps.
Targeted Threat Monitoring: Watch for brand mentions or product vulnerabilities being exploited.
Enhanced Incident Response: Correlate dark web findings with internal alerts for contextual decisions.
Risk Scoring: Use dark web indicators to prioritize vulnerabilities and threats.
Compliance Assurance: Gain evidence to support regulatory disclosure requirements.
With structured data pipelines feeding into security dashboards, teams become empowered to act before threat actors strike.
Common Use Cases Across Industries
Financial institutions leverage dark web APIs to detect fraud schemes and monitor leaked card data.
Healthcare providers use them to watch for patient record breaches and ransomware campaigns targeting medical equipment.
E-commerce and retail monitor marketplace impersonations and stolen account credentials.
Government agencies use dark web monitoring to track nation-state threats, protest coordination, and foreign influence campaigns.
The integration can be adapted to meet industry-specific threat landscapes.
How It Works: The API Architecture
Typically, Darkweb data API integration works in the following flow:
Data Aggregation: Providers scan Tor, I2P, and other hidden networks using crawlers and honeypots.
Normalization and Enrichment: Collected data is cleaned, de-duplicated, and enhanced with contextual tags.
API Access Layer: The structured intelligence is made available via RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
Security Tool Integration: APIs are consumed by SIEMs, SOAR platforms, TIPs, or custom dashboards.
Alerts and Automation: Predefined logic triggers alerts, ticketing workflows, and automated mitigation.
This modularity makes dark web intelligence scalable and agile.
Darkweb Intelligence vs. Traditional Threat Feeds
Conventional threat feeds often provide generic indicators of compromise (IOCs), like blacklisted IPs or malware hashes. While useful, these don’t offer deep context about how or why a threat exists.
In contrast, dark web intelligence is human-centric—built on chatter, context, and conversation analysis. It exposes:
Campaign planning before execution
Actor motivations and tactics
Sale of insider access or credentials
Forum relationships and actor reputations
This human layer gives organizations a strategic edge.
Leveraging Darkweb Data in Real-Time Threat Intelligence
Dark web APIs aren’t just for strategic reporting—they power Real-Time Threat Intelligence when connected to dynamic monitoring tools. For example:

This real-time awareness closes critical detection gaps.
Building a Scalable Integration Strategy
Adopting a dark web API doesn’t require overhauling your existing infrastructure. It’s all about modular and scalable implementation:
Start with a pilot use case, like credential exposure monitoring.
Integrate with your existing SIEM to create custom alert rules.
Expand to use cases like fraud prevention, account takeover detection, or brand protection.
Automate actions via SOAR tools for rapid response.
Monitor usage and refine filters to reduce false positives.
A phased rollout ensures ROI without overwhelming security teams.
Addressing Privacy and Compliance
While leveraging dark web intelligence is legal, organizations must tread carefully regarding:
Data collection boundaries (especially in regulated industries)
GDPR and CCPA compliance when dealing with personal data
Vendor transparency about data acquisition methods
Anonymity protections for ethical monitoring
Ensure your provider maintains ethical sourcing and complies with global data standards.
Future Trends and AI in Dark Web Monitoring
The dark web itself is evolving—with threat actors moving to decentralized platforms, encrypted messaging apps, and invite-only forums.
To keep pace, AI and machine learning are becoming essential:
Natural Language Processing (NLP) to parse multilingual posts and slang
Behavioral analysis to identify emerging attack patterns
Bot detection to differentiate real actors from spam
Sentiment analysis to gauge urgency or threat severity
As these technologies mature, dark web data will become even more actionable.
The Role of Cyber Threat Intelligence in Decision-Making
Cyber threat intelligence (CTI) brings structure and context to raw data. Integrating dark web feeds into a CTI platform helps analysts:

Create threat actor profiles
Understand tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
Correlate intelligence with vulnerability management
Support executive briefings and board-level risk reviews
In this ecosystem, dark web intelligence complements other sources like honeypots, open-source feeds, and malware analysis.
Cyber Threat Management Through Proactive Monitoring
Cyber Threat Management is most effective when organizations shift from reactive defense to proactive risk mitigation. Dark web APIs play a key role by:
Alerting teams about attacks before they begin
Informing patch management based on exploit chatter
Mapping threat actors targeting specific industries
Detecting insider threats from disgruntled employees
It’s no longer a question of “if” you’ll be targeted—but when. Proactive dark web monitoring makes that attack window narrower.
