I'm training to be able to speak in a way that completely removes any intent of power from my words (or any power that might generate itself). I want to speak so that my words can simply be accepted or not, with the reach of my message forming organically, without the support of symbolic capital. I'm training to reduce my words to what I truly think or am still coming to understand. In my opinion, this requires battling the ego, distinguishing externally imposed needs from those essential for proper functioning.
I’m training myself to not feel jealousy, to engage in only healthy competition, to cultivate good mental habits, assertiveness, and clarity without illusions. I’m training for balance between asceticism and a shout of vitality.
I’m not aiming for an ego-free expression; rather, I strive for a level of detachment where you can hear and see the thought ❤. It’s incredibly difficult because I have a tangled, contradictory nature, but I want this.

Signs of Life
⋆. ˚✮ Intel Inside ✮˚.⋆ When we conspire with our hearts to grow nothing but love within, it extends to the world outside, and what we used to dread becomes hospitable—living. ⋆. ˚✮ Leasehold ✮˚.⋆ The easiest way to procure love, friendship and happiness is with money. However, it doesn’t necessarily entail that they have been bought; if anything, they are on a lease, and as soon as one runs…

In the ever-changing music world, indie artists are making waves, and community labels are right there with them, shaking up the traditional scene. These grassroots labels are all about connection and creativity, offering personalized support that lets artists keep their unique voices while collaborating with like-minded souls. Instead of chasing commercial success, they focus on building strong relationships, hosting local events, and creating a sense of belonging among fans.
Thanks to tech advancements, community labels can promote artists directly and reach audiences far and wide without the need for corporate backing. This not only empowers artists to explore new sounds but also revitalizes local music scenes, championing diverse voices in the process.
Though they face challenges competing with major labels and securing funding, community labels are reshaping the future of music by emphasizing community over profit. This new model is not just about making music; it's a movement that resonates deeply with anyone seeking authentic artistic expression. The indie scene is alive, vibrant, and here to stay!

Feminine Power
I was reminded yesterday, after looking at old high school images, how uncomfortable I used to be with and within my body. How uncomfortable I was with my innate sensuality. While some of this discomfort was due to the changes that occurred to my body as I transitioned from childhood to womanhood, some were due to the stirrings within me and my own ignorance of what to do with it. And some of…

Delayed Gratification or a Fool? The Weird Paradox of Dream Chasing.
Delayed Gratification or a Fool? I possess an affinity for writing. One of the few “gifts”, and I’m starting to lean into it more often. My personality and demeanor fit writing like a glove. With my eczema and lack of other skills, I’m left cursing the heavens. “What a useless character build” I think as I navigate the world feeling increasingly lost as time passes. When I set out to make 2024 a…

Finding My Writing Style: A Journey of Descriptive Exploration
Writing is an art that evolves with time and practice. When I started my writing journey a few years ago, I received valuable advice to stick to simple terms like “said,” “asked,” and “replied.” These basic elements provided a solid foundation for my storytelling. However, everything changed when a friend, who had been reading my books, suggested exploring a more descriptive style. This feedback…

hold my hand and say it with me: jackie taylor is not a femme
#why are people on tiktok so convinced she is it actually drives me crazy#feminity is not an authentic expression of identity for her… and it’s definitely not an expression of QUEER identity#when jackie gets away from the pressures of society she immediately starts dressing extremely masculinely for the subculture she’s a part of#like. she’s wearing MEN’s clothing. she’s dressing preppy but she’s dressing masculinely#like she’s taking the chance of being away from home to express herself the way she wants to#and the way she wants to express herself is through masculinity#like. what about that makes you think she’s FEMME.#i guess this is really nitpicky but it’s something that genuinely pisses me off bad#because it’s such a fundamental misunderstanding of jackie’s character and of queer gender expression#and of the gender presentations of people who belonged to certain subcultures in the 90s#a really similar thing happens with the masculinization of nat#who is a very feminine character by the standards of her time period and subculture#she doesn’t dress like a masc lesbian. she dresses like a girl who belongs to an alternative subculture in 1996#this says SO MUCH to me about how people perceive masculinity and femininity in relation to the perception of strength and capability#in relation to their perception of the strength and capability of people and characters#like….. these sort of perceptions and assumptions are misogynistic actually 😭 and i never see anyone talk about it#anyway. whatever. idk how many people are gonna agree with me on this but i wanted to say it anyway#jackie’s not fem. and nat’s not masc#jackie taylor#yellowjackets#yj#discourse

Begging, begging, begging people to stop associating aging and femininity in men/masculine people as Wrong and Predatory. Femininity has no age limit.
To any feminine man, masculine person, or really, anybody who needs to hear this: Your femininity deserves to be recognized and celebrated. Aging is a natural and unique part of life, and you don't have to sacrifice your femininity for fear of being "too old" to be accepted or seen as charming. You are already charming.
There is no limit to being who you are. No matter what you're told, you still deserve to completely claim yourself.

One of the weirder parts of being formally tested for autism as an adult—apart from the hellscape of hours of math hell—was that they kept asking me for my conclusions or opinions about things I had very little knowledge of. These weren't basic facts you'd expect someone to pick up in the course of a standard US education, and I kept repeating that I would have to do actual research to form opinions on subjects I had no significant information about.
Obviously, "not opinionated" isn't a major problem for me when I do have a reasonable amount of information, but my eventual diagnosis specifically mentioned that I kept repeating that I would have to do more research to acquire the necessary baseline of data for forming opinions on [whatever], and that the phrasing of my various refusals tended to be identical or very similar (I didn't see any need to alter my wording when I was simply repeating the same position over and over).
*cough*
Anyway this is also about Star Trek. (Surprise.) I knew Spock would be relatable before we started the grand TOS watch, but did not expect him to be the most relatable character on television ever, and his continual refusals to deliver opinions without enough data for informed theories was actually a big part of this.

The Power of Rejection: Embracing Authentic Expression
Rejection is more than a mere redirection Reflecting on my experiences with releasing my work, “Empowered Journey,” I remembered how I would intuitively and meditatively get the message not to water down my ideas under any circumstances. I thought this was just me being guided not to alter the message, but later, I realized it was more than that. It reminded me of what I had known before. It…

Full Moon: Journal Prompts ☽◯☾
There will be a Full Moon on Thursday, October 17th which will be in the sign of Aries. ✨ ♈︎ ✨
Tumblr media
💫 This is a good time for taking charge, embracing your individuality, and setting your intentions, especially around personal goals and self-empowerment.
𖥔 ݁˖ 𖥔 ݁˖ 𖥔 ݁˖ 𖥔 ݁˖ 𖥔 ݁˖ 𖥔 ݁˖ 𖥔 ݁˖ 𖥔 ˖ ݁
❤️‍🔥 1. What new beginnings do I want to manifest in my life, and how can I embody the bold, fearless, and assertive energy of Aries to support these changes? For instance, identifying decisive actions and embracing spontaneity while trusting my instincts.
‪‪♥︎ ‬2. What specific goals do I want to achieve in the coming lunar cycle? Write down actionable steps to pursue them. In other words, what tangible steps can I outline to help manifest my goals? Consider creating a vision board, developing a business plan, or setting a weekly schedule.
❤️‍🔥 3. What does personal power mean to me? How can I cultivate and express that power in my daily life? For example, personal power might mean having the confidence to speak your truth, so you could practice assertive communication in your conversations. It could also involve setting healthy boundaries, allowing you to prioritize your well-being.
‪‪♥︎ 4. What creative project have I been wanting to start or what goals have I been wanting to achieve? During this time, take a moment to reflect on what brings you joy and consider the steps you can take to bring these ideas to life. Ask yourself, how can I harness my passion to make meaningful progress with my projects or goals.
❤️‍🔥 5. What new experiences or adventures am I eager to explore, and how can I take the first step toward them? Reflect on what excites you and sparks your curiosity. Consider practical actions, such as researching opportunities, signing up for a class, or reaching out to someone who has experience in that area.
‪‪♥︎ 6. In what ways do I want to express my true self more fully, and how can I embrace my uniqueness? Reflect on the aspects of your personality, interests, or talents that you wish to share with the world. Think about practical steps, such as trying new forms of self-expression through art, writing, or performance, or engaging in activities that align with your authentic self.

for anyone who has ever seen someone claim pansexual was coined on social media by teenagers in the early 2000s, the 2010s, and even in the past few years, and believed it or wondered if it’s true, or known it’s not true and been annoyed by the misinformation, this article is for you!
after listing out all of the claims i’ve seen, i succinctly debunk them by laying out a brief overview of pansexual’s history dating back to the 1960s, both as a term generally indicating universal appeal/inclusion and a term indicating sexual freedom/attraction to all genders. i include a look at pansexual’s use specifically within queer spaces, with a focus on bisexual spaces, as well.
i also touch briefly on omnisexual and polysexual existing in similar contexts to pansexual dating back to the 1960s. and finally, i discuss a little bit about how when, where, and by whom a label is created doesn’t determine the validity or usefulness of it, because these claims come with the implication that new labels, labels created by kids, and labels originating on social media aren’t legit forms of queer expression and identification.
happy pan week! 🥰💗💛💙
#pansexual#pansexuality#pan pride#pan positivity#pan week#medium#text#mine#and as always please remember that queer people have always played with language#and tweaked it until it worked for us and utilized what we felt seen by#and filled in the gaps with our own creations where we didn’t feel understood and left the rest#queer people expressing themselves in a way that feels authentic to them is always a good thing#truly don’t understand why the when where and by whom a label was created would matter more than someone feeling seen by a label#because while we’re talking about new labels made by kids online with regard to pansexual#so much of queer language has been reclaimed or repurposed from completely different (and often bigoted) origins#and people barely even acknowledge it. but suddenly the origin is crucial when it’s a label folks have a vendetta against#and listen. learning history is fun and important but we aren’t beholden to it.#we can have new meanings and uses and completely new words!!! it’s fine!!!! it’s not that serious!!!#maybe one day pansexual will fall completely out of use and people will find a different word to express it or something similar#and that’d be fine. and maybe one day after that someone will come across an old post about pansexuality and decide it speaks to them#and it will all happen again. and that will be fine. language is like that. self-identification is like that.#y’all take all of the fun and joy and excitement out of finding or creating language that perfectly captures how we feel#and then finding a community of people who feel the same way we do#y'all focus so much on the parts that don't matter. find your language find your people that's what matters#not finding something to use against someone else who feels seen by a word you don't feel seen by#anyways. pansexual isn't new. stop spreading lies because you care too much about things that don't matter
