once upon a time i had a devastating world ending crush on one of my friends but was too autistic to properly communicate this. at the time they identified as nonbinary so I put together a love song playlist that didn't include pronouns. i have since moved on as is polite and mature and have developed other devastating world ending crushes that im still not doing anything about. today one of those songs came on and I was hit by a wave of nostalgic pining longing so strong I almost became nauseous

The house was quiet, save for the soft hum of the heater and the faint glow of holiday lights casting patterns on the walls. You stirred in bed, catching the faint sound of giggles. The sound tugged at your instincts—a familiar sign of impending chaos.

You nudged Eijiro, who was sprawled out beside you. “Kiri,” you whispered. “Your mini-sidekicks are up to something again.”

He groaned but smirked sleepily. “They get their scheming from you, you know.”

“Oh, really? And the unstoppable love of snacks? That’s all you,” you shot back, already slipping out of bed.

Another giggle echoed from down the hall, followed by a whisper that sounded far too serious for a couple of kids. “Hold it steady,” one of them said.

“You’re doing it wrong! Just let me do it,” the other hissed.

Eijiro pushed himself upright, chuckling. “Alright, let’s catch these little villains in the act.”

The two of you crept toward the kitchen, pausing just outside the doorway. Peeking in, you saw them: your oldest perched precariously on a chair, flashlight in hand, while your youngest guided them like the director of a top-secret operation. Their mission? The last holiday cookie sitting tantalizingly on the counter.

“Gotcha,” Eijiro declared, flipping on the light. His booming voice sent them both spinning around, guilt written all over their faces.

“Uh…hi?” the older one stammered, holding the cookie behind their back as if that could erase the evidence.

The younger one tugged on your sleeve, giving you their best innocent eyes. “We weren’t doing anything bad! Promise!”

“Right,” you said, raising a brow. “Because climbing on furniture in the middle of the night isn’t suspicious at all.”

Eijiro crouched to their level, his expression mock-stern. “This a cookie heist? You know what I always say—stealing isn’t manly.”

“But Daddy!” the older one protested. “It’s not stealing if it’s just sitting there! You told us to share, but there’s only one left.”

“Exactly,” you chimed in. “And last I checked, you didn’t ask if we wanted any.”

The kids glanced at each other, their guilt giving way to determination. “We could’ve split it four ways,” the youngest offered sheepishly.

Eijiro chuckled, reaching out to ruffle their hair. “Nice try, but there’s no holiday crime without consulting the head bandit—me.” With that, he plucked the cookie from their hand, taking an exaggerated bite before handing it back.

“Dad!” they groaned in unison, but their mock outrage quickly dissolved into giggles.

The four of you migrated to the couch, the kids now content to split the cookie between themselves while Eijiro pulled you close under a fuzzy throw blanket. The youngest leaned against you, their head heavy on your shoulder, while the older one sprawled across Eijiro’s lap.

“I’m starting to think they plan these heists just to get out of bedtime,” you murmured, resting your head against Eijiro’s chest.

“Can you blame them?” he replied, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Best part of my night, too.”

Mitsuki’s earlier advice about savoring these years played in your mind, and you smiled at the quiet chaos surrounding you. The mess of crumbs, tangled blankets, and laughter-filled whispers felt like magic—a messy, imperfect kind of magic that made your house a home.

“Hey, Mom? Dad?” your oldest asked suddenly. “Do you think Santa really eats cookies at every house?”

Eijiro grinned. “Of course he does. You know how hard it is to bulk up for a sleigh ride?”

You rolled your eyes, but the laughter that followed filled the room, the perfect way to cap off another heist-filled holiday night.

He also has to uphold the integrity of the Savior System (ugh),Do good deeds and report them to his supervisor (double ugh), train his Lumen (dead eyed little thing doesn't like to listen to him so...ugh again!) and last but definitely not least he has to dedicate his life to figuring out how to use his endowment to cure a great societal problem... to perform... a MIRACLE TM. (yikes on bikes, no pressure). Will he be able to live up to the expectations of greatness that has been thrust upon him? or will he fail?

An AU where Nico sells his soul to save his family from dying, when he meets his untimely death however he finds that Hell is not what he expected, its a quarry, and is he does his quotas, he can ascend the ranks, and even make it to heaven. Each Level comes with its own set of rules. The level right before heaven, which requires Demons to go to earth to collect evil humors that taint people's souls, has the MOST rules. With him being unable to see his family, not knowing what he's doing, and finding out that his childhood friend has grown into a handsome...Preist in training?!? Nico finds that he can't keep the all of the rules straight, especially because he's not. (Rated M)

It's like coming home to a warm fire and a soft rug to lay on and a blanket, and a cup of hot tea to warm the soul. You all make so many tiny waves each day, and those waves come back and go on to make other waves, and there's nothing more wonderful than someone being kind when they could have been harsh. You make the world a better place. You make this world worth living in, and fighting for, and full of hope.

So yeah.. I just wanted to say thank you lovelies, you truly have helped so many people through so many things you'll never ever be able to comprehend, and you do it with love. Headcanons about the fankids:

Briar Pitt-Utonium is the oldest and a bit of a scamp. Her Harmony Bunny ears were a gift from her aunt, and it wasn’t a coincidence that they resemble her mother’s childhood bow but also reflect her mischievous personality. She’s Daddy’s little princess through-and-through, though. True to her name, she has a shield/damage reflect ability that manifests in a translucent pink shield with spikes. She’s all about defenses in her powers and fighting style. She’s the Joy and the Laughter.

Beatrice “Bee” Believe is the middle child and 100% tomboy. She is a powerful fighter and probably the scariest of all 3, given her mom’s ability to go “Hardcore.” She’s the Toughest Fighter. She is also fully charged with her daddy Mike’s imagination powers and can attract all kinds of supernatural entities. How does she fend off the malevolent forces (aka Patches)? Enter her king, her bodyguard, and her best friend, Stitches.

Stitches is her stuffed dog toy that has seen better days, but can be brought to life in the form of an imaginary friend with the most insane aura you’ve ever seen in your life. He is like King from One Punch Man, he’s not powerful at all, but he has maxed his intimidation stats and keeps Bee safe from any evil forces that are lurking. I can’t wait to draw more Stitches.

Finally, there’s Bridget “Brie” Utonium. This lil genius is Buttercup’s pride and joy. Her biological parents are Butch and a member of his fan club, Minali “Mina” Ajaebi (미나리아재비). Sadly, Mina did not survive childbirth, and Butch did not want to bother with Brie because of her numerous health problems and weak, half-human status (RRB in this stage are bigoted against humans, and them breaking out of their brainwashing is a huge part of their character arc).

Brie was adopted at age 4 by Buttercup after several orphanages and foster homes rejected her due to her super status. Who better to raise a troublesome young super than Buttercup herself?She has what can only be described as Chemical X diabetes. The Rowdyruff’s Chem X is already weaker and unstable due to their dubious creation method, and Brie being half human makes her Chemical X even more unstable. Thankfully, Professor Utonium has the capability to give her regular injections and improve her health over time.

She looks up to her mommy Buttercup so much and Buttercup quickly realizes that where she is lacking in physical power, she makes up for in brain power and a strong personality. The new gen of PPG wasn’t complete until Brie arrived and was quickly made the Commander and Leader, despite being the youngest!

And finally, I will reveal more about Brawl once I am far along enough in the story but just a couple of details: his biological parents are Butch and Buttercup, but that shouldn’t be possible in this timeline. So how does he exist? Time travel shenanigans? Multiverse? You’ll just have to wait and see… 😄

WIP Wednesday

On an actual Wednesday, for a treat! Thank you @thedissonantverses for the tag!

I've been working on a follow up for The Philosopher Contract, so we're headed to the Dellamorte Estate in Treviso for some family drama, flirting, and murder -- just your average Crow party.

At the back of her retinue, Illario spied Neve in a gown of green and pale yellow, her hair swept up along one side by a stylized golden fascinator in the shape of a flowering tree branch with a green lace veil shading across her face. Catching his eye, she smiled and gave him a wink, which earned him a discreet elbow in the side from Rook. "Neve looks nice," Rook purred quietly as she smiled slightly, not moving her mouth. Illario had never quite mastered that trick, but he usually didn't say things in the open that weren't intended to be overheard. "I really like the hair-clip thing?" "Fascinator," Illario answered absentmindedly, letting his eyes trail after Neve as she exited the to the main hall. Golden branch, pale yellow flowers, green leaves. Lemon blossoms. He could feel a familiar tightness in his chest, pulling and twisting him out of shape. "And yes, she does. Neve always has style." "Hmm," Rook returned with entirely too much nonchalance. Illario really was going have to have a word with… someone. Probably his own reflection at this rate.

Only NPCs that exist in Exandria is eligible to compete. That means main campaigns, one shots, EXU, ReSlayers Take, and any other Exandrian entity that I may have forgotten.

All the characters that previously competed are provided under the cut. I'm like 99% sure that they all will make it back to the tournament, but feel free to submit/resubmit your favorite character(s) to guarantee that they get in AND to make sure your propaganda is heard. (Also, my computer crashed since the last time I ran this poll, so I have zero (0) pictures saved, so please feel free to submit some of your fave images, I would be eternally grateful)

The survey will be up for 2 weeks, until 01/18. The tournament start date is TBD, depending on a couple of things, but hopefully it will be around the last week of Jan/first week of Feb.

in-world information / lore ...

born in the north blue to clover d. mavis, iselda is the grand niece of professor clover. though, she never meets him as her mother has been away from ohara on an exploration of the world for a few years by then. iselda's father is a marine who mavis nursed back to health after finding him shipwrecked and separated from his unit.

despite her wariness, the two fall in love and iselda is born. however, after seven years, her father wishes to return to the navy. holding onto her desire to travel the world once more and to continue her explorations, as well as the knowledge that as an oharan citizen could put herself and iselda in danger, they separate reluctantly.

on the island iselda is born, there's an oracle who reveals she knows mavis' secret as an inheritor of D. she foretells that iselda will bring ruin and chaos "at the appointed time".

iselda loses her arm at 10 years old after a traumatic event, involving bandits on an island her and her mother are exploring. the event results in her cutting off her own arm and nearly dying if it wasn't for the village's doctor.

while mavis' travels aren't with the purpose of finding information on the void century and even more so now that she has iselda, she finds important information regarding the poneglyphs and makes the decision to return to ohara.

on the way to ohara, the pair are shipwrecked and separated. iselda drifts for some time until she washes ashore on an island. the very same one where she'd lost her arm, and they nurse her back to help. she's about 14-15 years old at this point.

a few days later, the report about ohara comes in and she's struck with grief. her mother had shared brief truths about the island and their goal, but had emphasized this as a secret never to be revealed. days after that, they received the wanted poster for nico robin.

at 17 years old, the island is overrun by corrupt marines, seeking to extort money from the village and use the place as a secret base for their dealings. in the year that they occupy the town, iselda listens in on their dealings and hatches a plan to infiltrate the navy to learn more about the truth of ohara.

at 18, before she leaves to enlist for the navy--- as a show of gratitude to the town, she destroys the makeshift base and launches an attack on the marines left behind there while the others had returned to headquarters.

after successfully enlisting into the navy, she is first trained within a unit headed by sengoku, where she meets donquixote rosinante, but shortly thereafter is transferred to be trained under monkey d. garp.

she rises through the ranks to captain, but stops there as she doesn't want to owe more "loyalty" than she needs to do the world government.

she's deeply affected by the death of donquixote rosinante, dropping off the grid for several months before returning to the navy to fulfill her original purpose and to exact revenge on those responsible for his death.

she later joins SWORD --- on a mission with them, she comes across the revolutionary army. from there, she begins to help the army using the navy only in name.

by this time, she meets monkey d. dragon and learns of the inherited will of ohara. (more on present arc tbd).

possible in-world connections ... iselda's world is very open to interacting with anyone, whether pirate, revo army, marines, canon and oc alike. specifically, nico robin, trafalgar law, monkey d. garp, monkey d. dragon, koby, kuzan, doflamingo, etc.

additional information/plot points/tidbits ...

iselda is often late or just on time. she has been left behind a number of times and stranded on islands, needing to seek passage to her destination. she's also late to meetings, appointments, etc.

she pretends to have a bad memory. in reality, she has an excellent memory.

she's deeply conflicted by her position in the navy. regardless of her goals and her reasons for being there, iselda recognizes the conflict it presents to her own nature + belief system.

she has a casual obsession with being a D inheritor. although, she has come to realize that the path she has taken will likely result in her death, some part of her wonders if the reason she hasn't died yet is because the will of D hasn't yet found her death's purpose.

I thought you’d never ask

So the basic lore of this AU is:

It’s been like probably a few thousand or decades since the Earthbread War aka the Defeat of Dark Enchantress Cookie. The Ancient Heroes have long passed, giving up the Soul Jam to the 5 Heroes, Chili Pepper, Strawberry Cookie, Wizard Cookie, Custard Cookie III and Gingerbrave.

However a disagreement happened with every single cookie blaming Gingerbrave, thus causing them to lose 4 of the 5 Soul Jams to him. Gingerbrave disappears from the face of history till a member of the Time Balance Department breaks the rules and gets to the bottom of this disagreement.

The complicated lore:

For reasons unknown (I haven’t really decided yet) Gingerbrave betrays everyone and steals the 4 Soul Jam with Dark Cacao’s Soul Jam being entrusted to Dark Choco instead of one of the 5 after this incident Gingerbrave took the Cookie Kingdom and it vanished

Wizard built his own capital that’s similar to Wizard City, except it’s purely based on education, everywhere is a school, basically Sumeru but Wizard.

Strawberry made her own village isolated from everyone else, unlike her sweet and shy personality, she is mostly self-preserved and doesn’t speak unless she needs to guide her people.

Chili Pepper created a band of Bandits/Bounty Hunters for the sake of money and treasure. Golden Cheese except without her empire Chili Pepper lives wherever she wants.

Custard Cookie III rules the Vanilla Kingdom

Dark Choco rules the Dark Cacao Kingdom.

Princess Rules the Hollyberry Kingdom

Suddenly, Tinkerer Cookie (oc) Time Travels to the time of that era, where he tries to stop a future disaster from happening, breaking the rules of the TBD. Tinkerer Cookie journeys from nation to nation, hearing the bad rumors and accusations thrown at Gingerbrave and starts to pick up the pieces of what had happened to Gingerbrave.

dear diary as you may already know i am the most swagalicious feline to ever strut his way outta elsweyr

i came to skyrim just cause i wanted a change of pace and wouldnt you know it i got taken as a prisoner of war which is crazy cause i was just planning on stealing some cheese from the local farmer a mans cats gotta get his cheese on

anyway craziest fucking thing happens im about to get my neck chopped off and this dragon yeah you heard me a god damn dragon drops from the sky and goes AAAA and just starts burning everyone alive

this guy named ralof took pity on me nirns poorest little meowmeow born all alone my damn tail half singed off he unchains me we kill some imperials and bail

fast forward to me fucking around in the woods for several hours trying to get a bead on where i want the wind to take me they want me to go to whiterun and bleak falls barrow but i say um i just got here and im on vacation and ive had a very bad time so maybe you can take care of things your self

came over the hill to see some losers fighting a giant i poked him with a couple arrows just for some practice this lady asked me to join her club and im like nah purrmusk is his own man

crept around all the farms in the area looking for some goods to purloin and pawn but then i remembered you cant sell stolen goods anyway so i gave up that plan and just practiced sneaking around instead im feeling confident in my skills some might even say im 25% harder to detect than others im already an adept sneaker cant see me except for the times that you can

was circling back around to whiterun saw this bandit hideout so i merc the two bandits i saw didnt see any others so i go to loot their shit i take ALL their salt cause im gonna need it im just staring at their goods musing to myself like a grandma at walmart which i have never heard of and suddenly i hear something behind me i turn around and its three whole ass bandits and they have me totally cornered

so basically i run and i keep getting tripped up trying to run very nearly died until i hid in the stables i only robbed them a little bit out of gratitude for housing me from certain death

then i went into whiterun and started stealing everyones gold but i got tired so i used said stolen gold to rent a bed for the night

anyway night night i need shuteye big things coming tomorrow such as uh
