you don't know why you're working so late on christmas eve.

maybe it's because you have no one to celebrate it with. maybe it's because you find yourself wishing you did.

with shoto todoroki, to be specific.

christmas is your favorite festival, regardless of the chilly weather and your family being on the other side of the world. there's just something so magical about this time of the year.

you find it so beautiful - the christmas tradition of gift giving, leaving cookies and milk out for santa (and hoping to catch him in the act), decorating your front lawn in hideously bright lights, with snowflakes falling as christmas carols play in every house.

you let out a wistful sigh.

maybe you should head home now.

you get up and stretch your tired limbs, a soft yawn escaping you. you look out the window of the 12th story office you spend most of your time in (which was now empty, except for you), wanting to admire the skyline.

instead, you see the first snowfall of the winter take place right in front of your eyes.

you immediately gather your belongings and rush downstairs, giddy with excitement, a wide grin on your face and a sparkle in your eyes. you run out onto the pavement, watching the snowflakes land gently on your outstretched hands.

the smell of peppermint coffee invades your senses as you watch families and couples play in the snow, dancing and singing and occasionally throwing a snowball at each other. goosebumps rise along your arms as the chilly air nips at your skin, and you shiver a little.

thoughts of the dual-haired man take over your thoughts again.

what would it be like to spend christmas with him?

would he dance with you in the snow to christmas carols until the late hours of the night? would he help you decorate your house in those horrendously bright lights? would he help you bake cookies in every shape and size to distribute to all your friends?

your thoughts are interrupted by the feeling of something warm draping over your shoulders. you would recognize that scent anywhere. it was shoto's jacket.

you turn around, only to be met with those stunning heterochromatic eyes that never fail to leave you breathless. you've been friends with him since U.A., after which you started working at his agency. you work late on most nights - all of which he spends with you, stubbornly refusing to leave until you do too.

but tonight, you feel a little guilty. he probably had plans on christmas eve. you thought he'd left a while ago, actually. the question leaves you before you can stop yourself.

"sho, why haven't you gone home yet?" you raise an eyebrow, a pout forming on your face at the thought of him missing his plans because of you.

"i could ask you the same thing," he replies back almost instantly. he wonders if you had plans, too. did you miss them because of work? he can't help but feel a little guilty.

you both stand there for a while, comfortably basking in each other's warmth as you watch the crystalline snow fall. you find yourself leaning towards him, as he wraps his arm around your shoulder.

you've had this relationship for a while - where you would act as more than friends, but not quite there yet. the line has been blurred for a long time now, but he still couldn't call you his.

he hopes to change that tonight.

"wanna get some hot chocolate?" you ask, after a while. he smiles down at you, saying a small 'yes,' before taking you to the quaint little café across the street.

the little bell on the door chimes as you both enter and walk over to the counter to place your order, before finding a place to sit. you both sit and chat for a while, mostly about how you would normally spend christmas if you were back home, as he listened intently to every word you spoke, nodding along and adding his own quips occassionally.

with a knowing smile on her face, the sweet old lady who runs the shop comes to give you your order personally. as you both thank her, she looks at the ceiling above you.

"oh, would you look at that? you're right under the mistletoe" she states, before walking away after laughing heartily at the flustered look on both of your faces. you fidget nervously, the hot chocolate on the table forgotten now.

you take a deep breath.

"well, i know it's a tradition, but we don't have to do anything if you don't want to!" you manage, a little nervous.

shoto hums.

"and what if i want to?"

He’s a Little Confused but He's Got the Holiday Spirit

Hello! As the title implies, it's time for this to become a fic, for those that don't know, I wrote a prompt response that's basically a christmas au of confused spirit (curtosey of @divinit3a) and it was so good that I decided to make a full fic for it. this post contains the basic info of the fic, some lovely designs brought to life by Pom and will include links to each chapter as it posts ^_^

There's also a little poll at the end to vote on the title if you'd like to participate~

The Plot:

You're a blacksmith/animatronic technican in a small, mountain village, known far and wide across the kingdom for it's holiday decorations and delight. So much so that the royal family themselves visit yearly to partake in the festivities.

However, due to some recent threats and strange has happenings, there's much more security this year, and among that security is two royal guards who seem keenly interested in keeping you from investigating too far into the matter. And you, they're also interested in you.

The Characters:

Y/N - You! With the same personality, motivations, and goals as Y/N from Confused Spirit, and with a similar job as well. You run a shop in town with a small team of smithies, tinkerers, and inventors at your side. (I don't have a design currently but imagine a the most androgynous blacksmith/medival peasent outfit ever <33)

Sun & Moon - The two guards that have been meddling in your affairs. Though, given they've been a surprising help with your siblings, you can't say much. Also with the same personalities, and characteristics as Confused Spirit. However, they're motivations and goals are different and do not reflect their CS counterparts. Meaning, anything discovered about these two does not apply to or justify any actions taken by them in CS. Designs below are by Pom who brought my vision to life <3333

The Shop Crew - the parts & infastructure team from CS! with an adjustment here or there :)

Melissa & Gabriel - Your siblings. Still adorable. And still a menace.

All others - You'll just have to see :) There is some overlap from CS, such as Abby as some already know, among many more
