tried my hand at a different painting technique with this one! Basically I sketched it out, lasso-tooled out shapes, blobbed in color with a big soft brush to get smooth gradients, and then painted over it with full opacity using the color picker. Hope that made sense 😅

Went across the street to the 24hrs coffee shop to order Singapore Fried Noodles (星洲米粉) and Hor Fun (河粉) from the tze char (煮炒) stall. The first is fried bee hoon or rice vermicelli while the latter is broad flat rice noodle.

I took the easy way to dinner and opted for Economy Rice (菜饭) with this big piece of savoury pork chop, crispy ikan bilis & crunchy peanuts and kang kong (water spinach) stir-fry over steamed rice.

As you may know, my son is delayed in speech. He's 2, and up until very recently he never mimicked anything he heard— mostly because he couldn't really hear much. There may be something else going on, but nothing really definitively confirmed. As his hearing improves he's been exploding in his progress. Nearly cried earlier because he said "let's go!" and then answered what movie he wanted to watch (Bolt). He has about two dozen words in his repertoire which is so so amazing compared to a few months ago when he said nothing at all 🥹

He's also finally calling me mommy, he used to just scream for my attention 😅
