Medical school wasn’t for everyone, and even though he was entering his second year, Jiseok still wasn’t sure if it was for him. Growing up with a strong interest in science and a desire to help others made human medicine an obvious choice to pursue, but that didn’t mean it was easy. Majoring in biochemistry felt hard enough during his undergraduate years, and now he had taken on a work load almost double that of what it used to be. However, Jiseok wasn’t a stranger to hard work. The desire to give up, to be free of the constant pressure of new information and assignments, still existed in his mind. But he was able to lock the feeling away within his heart, to compartmentalize, just as he had done in his first four years of college.
Although this was an effective way to stay on top of school, the process of locking his feelings away caused him to neglect other aspects of his life. His beloved guitar that once received attention every day was now only held for thirty minute intervals once a week. The friends that he had made in college were rarely texted, and even less so visited by him. He tried to tell himself that this was okay, that it would all be worth it, that once he received his M.D. there would be time to pick back up the things that he loved. But there were still three more years of school, and then his residency could be three or more years, and then what if he needed to complete a fellowship too? How old would he be by the time he was done? Would he have spent his entire twenties in schooling? Was that something that he was okay with?
Now isn’t the time to be thinking about this, Jiseok murmured to himself while brushing his teeth listlessly. It was 6:04 in the morning, just a little over thirty minutes after his first alarm had gone off. The autumn chill left him feeling particularly listless in the mornings, but his desire to succeed was stronger than his desire to stay comfortably stationed in bed. The man looking back at him in the mirror was clearly disheveled, dressed in a black Green Day shirt and oversized sweatpants. His frizzy, bleached hair was concerningly untamed, something which he blamed his friend for. Seungmin was a childhood friend of Jiseok, and was extremely hard to deny. When he called Jiseok over the summer asking if he could bleach his hair for cosmetology school, Jiseok didn’t hesitate to say yes and help him out. However, it would be a lie to say that Jiseok was prepared for the challenges and responsibilities that came with having bleached hair. He cringed as he brushed his hair, remembering how terrible it looked after the first attempt of bleaching it. Thankfully by the time the new semester had started Jiseok’s hair had become more manageable, and he no longer lived in fear of it. After changing into his ceil blue scrubs and eating a quick breakfast, he grabbed his coat and exited his apartment, beginning the short and dark walk to campus.
Classes didn’t start until 8:00, but Jiseok still tried to arrive at campus at least an hour early every day so that he could get a head start on reviewing the upcoming content. Despite his internal struggles, Jiseok was highly regarded by his peers in medical school, and even considered by some to be one of the two “perfect” students at their university. Walking into the campus coffee shop, Jiseok inadvertently made eye contact with the second “perfect” student, a common, painful occurrence in his daily routine. Painful only because of his own actions - his own shortcomings. She sat in her usual spot - the counters by the window and held a mug of her usual drink - a spiced latte - beside her. I wonder how long she’s been here, he thought to himself, feeling slightly inadequate. After placing his order, Jiseok slowly made his way to a booth before pulling out a laptop from his bag and beginning his routine. From his seat he could barely see the back of her head from across the shop, which he watched rock from side to side over the span of the morning (or something adjacent). Although it had been over a year since they had first met, their interactions with each other were generally limited to the brief eye contact they shared each morning. As he mindlessly scrolled through his emails, he couldn’t help but reminisce about his first meeting with her, and how things might have been now if that night had gone differently.
When Jiseok first met her, he didn’t like her. Orientation Night for first years had begun only an hour ago and yet she was already being swarmed by other students, drawn to her like moths to a flame. Her smile was bright and friendly, and she spoke kindly with sincerity to everyone around her. Without even speaking to her, Jiseok had already overheard everything that he needed to know. She was a perfect student during her undergraduate, and had been a part of several research groups and student organizations. She was accepted into multiple prestigious medical schools, but for some reason chose to go here, probably because they offered her the greatest scholarship, Jiseok thought to himself. He chose to dislike her because he didn’t understand her. It was obvious to him that she was someone who had never had to try that hard to be exceptional. It was so obvious to him because it was so opposite to who he felt he was: someone who was constantly trying hard just to keep up with the average. At that moment he made the decision to distance himself from her, as he knew himself well enough to understand that they were in completely different circles. Hours passed, and after listening to several boring speeches and making small talk with some of the other incoming MS1s, Jiseok decided it was time to take his leave from the event. It’s not that he wasn’t excited to be starting this new chapter in his life, but his feelings of doubt and uncertainty had quickly outweighed the excitement, making him feel distant from those around him. He began to walk silently towards his apartment complex, internally criticizing his past interactions with his peers, wishing that he had said something different, or wishing that he had said nothing at all. In the midst of his thoughts, Jiseok heard the chatter of other students who were still nearby, but continued to make his way further away from campus until he heard a slightly louder exclamation. Surely they weren’t talking to him, so he kept with his pace until-
“Hey, wait a second!”
After being certain that the voice was in fact being directed towards him, Jiseok stopped in his tracks and turned around, coming face to face with the person he had so quickly chosen to dislike.
“Oh, sorry…” He trailed off, making eye contact with the girl and then quickly breaking it, “I didn’t know you were talking to me.” He involuntarily swallowed, making a mental note of his dry mouth. He felt guilty knowing that the person he had been trying to avoid had gone out of their way to speak with him.
“It’s okay, I’m sorry to have shouted at you like that. I just realized that I hadn’t gotten to meet you yet.” She said with a polite smile, before introducing herself to him. Jiseok obviously already knew her name, but proceeded to introduce himself, adding a brief “nice to meet you.” As he spoke, his gaze once again reached hers, and he immediately realized why the world around him seemed to be so enthralled by her. Although the sun had set hours ago, her eyes still twinkled, perhaps from the dimly lit streetlights, or perhaps from something faintly glowing within her. While looking at her, Jiseok felt as if time had stopped, or at least slowed down significantly. He felt his heart beating hard against his chest, and did his best to appear normal and unfazed by the sudden conversation.
“It’s nice to meet you too, Jiseok” she said, with a slightly larger smile this time, “Tonight was pretty long, right? Are you headed home now?” She casually asked him. Something about how she spoke to him made him feel that he too was in fact special, and worth spending time on the way that she was. It was almost intimate, he thought, the way that she maintained her eye contact with him, and the way that she was able to speak his name so easily. Was this a skill she had been born with? Or was it carefully crafted and improved from years of practice? Jiseok didn’t have the luxury to think about the possibilities, as he had to quickly formulate a response to her before too much time had passed.
“Yeah, I guess. It must be hard being the center of the attention” he mindlessly retorted. The harsh words quickly escaped his mouth, like they needed to be freed from his body, as if Jiseok would somehow feel better with them outside of himself. His hand involuntarily reached to cover his mouth, almost like his body was shocked that he had said something so insensitive to someone he didn’t even know.
“Oh,” she paused, briefly making an expression that was indecipherable to Jiseok, “Is that how it seemed to you?” She asked, reverting back to her polite expression. Why did I say that? Jiseok immediately felt guilty, and scrambled to try and repair the damage he felt he had caused, accidentally biting his lip in the process.
“I’m sorry. I don’t know why I said that” he stammered, “I think I’m just really worn out from today…” He trailed off, with a pained expression, unable to look the girl in her eyes anymore. Why did he lash out like that? This wasn’t the type of person that Jiseok wanted to be, yet he was already making such a poor impression of himself before the school year had even started. He felt the stuffy heat of shame rise throughout his face, and felt the taste of blood pollute his mouth as he looked down at his shoes. Jiseok had always been one to feel things strongly, which he had always found to be a curse rather than a blessing, this situation being one to further his point.
“Don’t worry about it!” She started, a little too quickly, “It’s totally fine. I’m feeling pretty worn out too” she chuckled softly, feigning unbotheredness. Jiseok easily saw through this though, as being one that feels things strongly meant that it was obvious to him when the people around him were not “totally fine.” Although she maintained her pleasant mask, he could see that the twinkle in her eyes now more closely resembled unshed tears.
“Well, um, I guess I’ll let you go now. Goodnight Jiseok!” She spoke awkwardly, as she turned away quickly, trying to end their interaction as soon as she possibly could.
“Goodnight…” He spoke past the lump in his throat, trying to keep his voice from trembling. She continued to walk away from him, leaving no evidence that she had heard his feeble good night, not that Jiseok felt like it would have changed anything. The desire to leave that he had experienced before interacting with her was nothing compared to what he felt now. He needed to get away - from everyone and everything. To be by himself would allow him to decompress and recalibrate, which would at least temporarily improve his mood. The pain in his throat became more apparent as he quickly started walking back to his apartment, and he still felt as if his heart was going to break out of his chest due to how hard it was beating.
Why? Questions of “Why?” and “Why not?” plagued his head as he tried to forget about the situation he had just undoubtedly fumbled. The fifteen-minute walk felt more like an hour of torment, but finally Jiseok arrived back to his haven. He immediately undressed and laid face-down on his bed, letting out a loud and pained noise that was hopefully muffled by his comforter. Afterwards, Jiseok tried to normalize, running through the steps of his evening routine and eventually bringing himself into bed…
“Jiseok…? Hello…?”
Jiseok nearly flew out of his booth at the sound of her voice suddenly addressing him. Standing before him was the girl that he had just spent the last half hour reminiscing about, looking somewhat confused at his startled response.
“Huh? I mean what? I’m sorry, I-” Jiseok began, surprised by how loud his voice sounded inside the relatively quiet cafe.
“It’s okay, I’m sorry to have interrupted you.” She said politely, before setting down a warm mug on his table. “The barista called your name several times, but I didn’t think that you heard them. I was on my way out anyway, so I thought I’d bring this to you.” She gently nudged the drink towards him, with a slight smile.
“Ah, Thank you so much. I must have been really invested in my studies.” He spoke, chuckling shyly and internally cringing at the words leaving his mouth. He watched as her eyes moved slowly across his face, and then to his laptop screen, which clearly displayed his email inbox, and no other open tabs or applications. Jiseok’s face grew slightly pink, realizing that he had just been caught in a fib, yet he didn’t say anything to try and cover his tracks. He secretly hoped that she would call him out, that she would gently laugh, or even that she would try and change the subject out of pity. Anything just to prolong this interaction with her would be a positive for Jiseok. But instead, all she did was slightly raise her eyebrow - a habit of hers that Jiseok had noticed, but wasn’t quite sure of it’s meaning - before saying a quick goodbye and walking away. He watched her silhouette slowly disappear through the window of the shop, which was somewhat obscured due to morning sun, before retreating back into his internal world that he had been absorbed in.
To Jiseok’s surprise, the beginning of the first semester was incredibly mundane. Sure, the content and workload was insane, but the social aspect of medical school was much easier for him to navigate than he had expected. The events which occurred on the night of orientation had left him exceedingly nervous to interact with his peers, but for some reason unbeknownst to him, everyone seemed to like Jiseok. Sure, he was nice enough to everyone and did his best to act thoughtfully and be considerate of those around him, but it still didn’t seem to make any sense. In an even greater shock, Jiseok placed top of his class at the end of his first semester. And, this time not to his surprise, no one other than the most capable woman he knew placed second to him, leading to the two of them being admired and respected by their student body, and earning the nicknames of “perfect students”. He secretly hoped that this would bring two of them closer together, now that they had both achieved such a feat and had been recognized for it. He had desperately wanted to right his wrongs, to fix what he felt he had broken, or at least damaged to some extent. However, Jiseok felt too nervous to speak to her by himself, and she seemed to show no interest in approaching him either. The longer he went without talking to her, the harder he felt that it would be to change that, and opted instead to observe her from a distance with the rest of his other admiring classmates.
Through his observations, Jiseok quickly noticed patterns in how she spoke with her peers - likely unbeknownst to them. Although she was kind and genuine, she was also extremely private, at least when Jiseok was within earshot. She seemed to keep personal opinions to herself, which was confusing as he doubted she had any hidden, controversial beliefs. He knew that she didn’t actually listen to the same music that her classmates liked, and he knew that she actually did get nervous when it came to presenting in front of the class. In addition to this, she was an incredible listener, and had the ability to make anyone feel interesting - as he had experienced first hand from her on the night of their first meeting. Unfortunately for Jiseok, the more he learned about her, the more he slowly began to fall into her trap.
He knew she was beautiful the night that he met her - anyone could see that - and overtime he discovered that her beauty was so much more than skin deep, ast she was genuinely a good human being. The way she seemed untouchable, like a well-kept secret, was so upsettingly irresistible to Jiseok. He selfishly wanted to be special, to know and truly grasp who she was as a person and why she had become that way. Had he initially been wrong about her? Was there a chance that she was more like him than he had first thought? Probably not, but thoughts of her drifted across his tired mind, and became a small source of comfort for Jiseok as he faced the challenges of medical school.
Vrrrp! A small vibration from his phone interrupted Jiseok’s train of thought - it was 7:45. So much for studying this morning, he thought to himself, before packing up his laptop and briskly walking across the courtyard to class. Thankfully he made it to class on time, and his usual seat in the lecture hall had been saved for him by a few of his peers.
Another uneventful series of morning lectures had passed, and Jiseok slowly exited the lecture hall to make his way to one of the various lounge rooms to enjoy his lunch. Several friendly classmates asked if he had wanted to review together over their lunch breaks, but Jiseok has opted out today, as he craved some alone time before having to spend another five hours taking notes in the auditorium. Walking up to the first empty classroom’s door he could find, Jiseok placed his hand on the knob and began to twist it before -
“So I’ve been meaning to ask- how are you and your boyfriend? Are you planning on taking him to the Winter Formal?”
He heard the voice of who he assumed was one of her close friends, or at least he hoped that was the case if they felt comfortable asking her such a personal question. It was no surprise to Jiseok, or likely anyone, that she had a boyfriend. However, that didn’t keep him from wincing slightly any time it was mentioned. Not only did he flub his first meeting with her, but she also had an insufferable boyfriend. Well, he could never admit to that, but the jealousy and disdain he felt towards this man that he’d never even met was enough proof of his true feelings. Her boyfriend didn’t attend the same program as Jiseok, but with minimal time and effort he was able to learn about him by word of their gossiping classmates. Sure, the guy was tall and handsome, and maybe nice too. But Jiseok was confident that this man would never really understand her the way that he himself could. He’d never understand how she thinks, how she carefully chooses her words and responses, and surely he’d never truly understand her motivations and dreams. But Jiseok could. And he would be more than eager to prove that if her heart didn’t already belong to another man. He would do anything to support her, to care for her, to please her in any way imaginable…
Jiseok internally smacked himself before allowing himself another thought. The prolonged silence from the other room was making his heart and mind race - Why was she taking so long to respond? He so desperately wanted to peek through the thin window of the door, just to see what type of expression she was wearing. Say that you two are doing great. Say that you will take your stupid boyfriend with you to the Winter Formal, Jiseok thought to himself as he tried to resist the painful creep of jealousy that he’d worked so hard to contain.
“Oh…” He heard her voice waver, “We actually broke up last summer. Sorry, I didn’t really tell anyone.”
Jiseoks froze, no, the entire world around him froze. What? How is that even possible? How did I not notice? A flood of thoughts rushed through his mind before he snapped back to the present moment and tore his hand from the door knob. He felt his pulse heavy through his body, numbing out the continued commotion from the conversation he had been eavesdropping upon. Despite the shock he was feeling, Jiseok feigned normalcy before calmly walking down the hallway to an actually vacant classroom and seating himself for what he had originally intended to do: eat his lunch. This was going to be okay - he tried to reassure himself. He had done this before, he knew how to compartmentalize, how to stop feeling or thinking when things felt too big. Jiseok just had to make it through class, and then he would allow himself to think about his newly gathered knowledge. After silently recollecting himself, he hesitantly took a bite into his packed lunch and accidentally bit the inside of his lip in the process. The metallic taste of blood quickly overwhelmed his tastes, but Jiseok fought to ignore this, and instead swallowed down his heavy feelings alongside a few unshed tears.
The next five hours of class were a blur. Jiseok, who was usually a stellar student and active participant in class, felt nearly catatonic after the events of his break. Once he had finally been released, he quickly said his goodbyes to his peers before rushing out of the building and beginning the trek back home. All I have to do is make it home, he internally repeated to himself, praying that it would sooth his nerves until-
“Jiseok! Wait!”
Fuck. Everything that he had been trying so hard to lock away was at risk of slipping through his fingers. Feeling like a deer caught in the headlights, Jiseok slowly turned around to face the one person he couldn’t bear to speak to.
“Hey, sorry… one second.” She spoke as if she was slightly out of breath, likely from trying to keep up with him as he attempted his escape from campus. Pushing a stray piece of hair out of her face, she continued “I know the PBL presentation isn’t due for a couple weeks, but I still wanted to get your contact information.”
What? Jiseok was puzzled, and could only bring himself to barely meet her gaze and hope that she would elaborate. He had just presented his last PBL case last week. What was she talking about? Why would he be doing another one- Oh. Memories from the first week of classes uncovered themselves within his head. The small group PBL presentation would be due at the end of the semester, and be worth about 25% of his final grade in his Clinical Investigations course. It must have been addressed in class today, but had been far too preoccupied to pay any attention.
“Oh, yeah…” Jiseok said quietly, before shakily reaching into his pocket and grabbing his phone. “I, um, here. You can put in your number” He said, holding his phone out to her general direction, painfully aware of his awkward behavior. Thankfully, she seemed unfazed, and gently took his phone from his hands.
“Perfect, thank you. It seems like you’re in a bit of a hurry, so I’ll let you go.” She said, handing the phone back to him after sending a quick text to herself from his number. “Though, I would really appreciate it if we could try and find some time to get together and make a plan this week.”
“Yeah, of course.” He said before adding a quick “good bye” and “thank you” and heading off.
You can do this Jiseok, he told himself while trying to appear relaxed as he walked away from her. As soon as he was certain that he had escaped her line of sight though, his composure dissipated and he quickened his pace. After practically running home to his apartment, he was filled with a slight sense of relief as he finally slammed the front door behind him, locking himself safely away from the rest of the world. Jiseok grasped his face between his hands, before taking a deep breath and sliding back against his door, grounding himself. Despite his attempts at deep breathing, Jiseok still felt anything but calm, and decided that the next step would be to try and wash away the burdensome feelings he held. He stood up shakily, discarding his bag on the couch, before slowly trudging to his small apartment bathroom. Although the water pressure wasn’t ideal, Jiseok was always able to get the temperature practically scalding, something that usually helped him unwind after long days. He shed his clothes, throwing them to who-knows-where, before stepping into the stall and submerging himself in the warm water. He exhaled audibly, finally feeling some peace after being on edge for the past few hours. While washing himself, Jiseok allowed his mind to wander and begin the long process of decompressing the events of today. Not only was she single now, but she would also be an integral piece in Jiseok’s academic success for the fall semester. Observing from afar would no longer be a plausible option - it was time that he addressed his true feelings about her.
I want her, he thought to himself, and immediately felt repulsed by how easy it had been to admit. This feeling was something he thought he had tucked away - something he had locked up and buried, hoping that it would never find the surface again. Sure, Jiseok wasn’t a complete stranger to intimacy - he had been an active participant in a handful of casual relationships during his undergraduate years - but medical school had left him drained and with little time to spend on himself, let alone another person. The stress of school was enough to dampen his sex drive, and the only person he was remotely interested in had been in a committed relationship. However, that was no longer the case… and this revelation threatened to have Jiseok burst at the seams. The hot air and steam began to feel suffocating to him, and as an additional hit, he felt his dick twitch with need. Surely this was okay, wasn’t it? Not only would she never know, but it also would never affect her. Even better that she was single now, too.. There was no other person occupying her time, occupying her mind, her body…
Fuck, this is so wrong, he thought to himself, bringing his hand to forehead. He felt his face crinkle up in disgust as he became more and more aware of his growing arousal. However, the shame that ran through his core was now being outshined by his impending need for release. No, he could still pull himself back together, just turn off the shower and go to bed, pretend none of this had ever happened…
Fuck it, Jiseok leaned forward against his shower wall, holding himself with his left arm and letting the hot water pour over his back. He bit his lip to no avail, unable to hold back a moan as he finally grasped himself. He had crossed a line, and lost the battle with himself - but the pleasure he felt was too agonizingly enjoyable to stop. He let out a soft sigh, his jaw going completely slack, as he began to move his hand, basking in the slight relief after how painfully hard he had become. Closing his eyes, she appeared so clearly in his mind, and before he knew it he was lost in the fantasies of her that he had so effortlessly created. Her tantalizing smile as she began to undress in front of him, the warmth of her body as she climbed on top of him, and the coolness of her fingertips as she traced the freckles across his body. It was too tame though, and before he knew it he was imagining her legs wrapped snugly around his neck, holding him in place as she pleasured herself against him. It was visceral to touch himself like this, to fuck his own hand wishing that it were her. Would he lay back and watch while she took the lead? Or would he be draped over her, hard at work in pursuit of her enjoyment? Jiseok cringed at the obscene words and sounds falling from his mouth, but a small part of him was turned on by how pathetic he was acting. As he felt himself reaching his peak, he picked up his pace, relentlessly jacking himself off as he imagined how she would look taking him. All he could do was say her name, quietly at first, but soon becoming loud sobs as he hastily finished.
For a brief moment, Jiseok felt blissful, coming down on the sweet waves of pleasure that he had so desperately craved. However, after finally opening his eyes, a sharp wave of sickness flooded through his being as he watched the evidence of his crime wash down the shower drain. I’m disgusting, he thought to himself, moving directly under the running water, hoping that it would somehow cleanse him of the actions he committed. Tears hotter than the water from the shower head ran down his face as he cried silently, staring down at his feet. After allowing himself a brief moment longer to ache, Jiseok reluctantly turned off his shower and dried himself off before changing into a pair of sweatpants and an old t-shirt. Despite everything he had learned about the importance of nutrition in his metabolism course, he couldn’t bring himself to eat dinner, the shame leaving him slightly nauseated.
Everything would be the same as it had always been. Sure, he was going to be working one-on-one with her for the next few weeks, but after that it would be as if nothing had ever happened between the two of them. And, nothing had happened between the two of them - at least, not to her knowledge. Jiseok repeated these thoughts to himself like affirmations, hoping that they would somehow become true if he just continued to focus on them. After mindlessly clicking through Anki review decks and allowing his hair to air-dry, Jiseok finally crawled into bed. Tomorrow will be a good day, he tried to convince himself, ignoring the pangs of guilt and uncertainty that he felt in his chest. Everything would be the same, right?

lab partner!kuroo x f!reader headcannons
content warning none really. kuroo makes bad chemistry jokes. characters are in university. fem pronouns used.
wc 599
m.list
on her first day in her chemistry class, everyone is assigned a lab partner and she just so happens to be paired up with Kuroo
at first, he seems weird and a little cocky
she soon finds out that Kuroo has a good reason to be. he's incredible at chemistry; its like second nature to him
he would try to find her during the lecture that paired with the lab. after spotting her in her usual seat, he would slide into the row behind her and tap her on the shoulder. Kuroo would make it a point to sit there every week and slide her notes during lecture
if she fell asleep, he would take notes for her and make a copy to give to her the next time they met
when he realizes that he likes his lab partner's company, he would drag things out. he would try to be the last group to leave the lab, just so he could get some alone time with her
if she isn't good at chemistry, Kuroo would be incredibly patient. offering to tutor her outside of class, when it was really just an excuse to spend more time with her. he would make sure that he executed every aspect of the lab perfectly, ensuring that she got good grades too
if she is good at chemistry, he would compete with her. he'd try to do more during lab, insisting that he had the experience when they were both in their second semester of college. Kuroo would make terrible chemistry puns at her and cackle at his own jokes even if she didn't laugh
he would ask for her number under the guise of helping each other with the lab reports.
Kuroo insists on working on the lab report together, even though they are graded separately. he just wants an excuse to spend more time with her.
while reactions ran, Kuroo would chat with her about anything under the sun. if they were doing pcr or waiting for a gel to finish running, he would lose track of time while talking to her.
if they were doing something a little more hands on, Kuroo would hover around her.
if her hands were full and her safety glasses began sliding down her face, Kuroo would carefully push them up with the clean part of his glove
run out of pipette tips? he's already got a new box
cant get the clamps to close? his hands are over hers, all too eager to help.
need new samples to run in the spectrophotometer? he's already started cleaning the cuvette and loading the next sample
cant get the data to show results? Kuroo would send a spreadsheet of all his excel data with little notes to help her understand his work
on the last day of lab, Kuroo would wish her luck on finals in the most nerdy way possible: by giving her a note that corresponded with elements on the periodic table for her to decipher
university has a funny way of bringing people together and pushing them apart, and he didn't want to risk falling out of her company. he wanted to make his feelings known, just in case they never saw each other again
he's well aware of how nerdy and lame he's being, but he says it anyways
Kuroo confesses with a drawing of a heart around a water molecule, saying, "it's kind of like us, we're covalently bonded"

ch 2 Sealed with a kiss (jakvik x reader)
I know i said id do like 5k words but the struggle is so real oml. i hope u enjoy this ch and ill work on spitting out more words for the next chapter i promise :>
“Wakey wakey sleepy head,” yelled the incessant noise of Sky directly into your ear.
“Ugh, leave me alone, Sky. It’s my rest day, and I don’t plan on waking up till noon,” you replied.
“Dude, it’s 3 PM. Get up,” she said.
“IT’S WHAT?! WHY DIDN’T YOU WAKE ME UP SOONER?” you screamed as you jumped up. You had planned on getting some work done on your assignment around now because, at this rate, you’d never get it finished and submitted in time.
You only had one more month to work on it before it had to be sent in, and since you’re a massive procrastinator, you had barely done anything in the past five months while everyone else was busting their asses to get the work finished.
“Considering what you said to me a minute ago, I don’t think you even deserved to wake up now, stink face,” Sky replied.
Sky Young was your best friend. Your bread to your butter. Your cheese to your stick, or however that saying goes. Anyways, you get the idea—you guys were almost inseparable. You’d grown up in the undercity together even though her family was much richer than yours, and you’d moved to the city of Piltover together too since she got accepted at the same time as you did.
When you’d first come, she’d helped out with the expenses and everything, but you paid her back as soon as you got your job at the café, for which she was thankful because people in Zaun, no matter how rich, still struggled in Piltover due to the insane taxes for Zaunites and the fact their currency was less strong than Piltover’s.
She also was your rock when you’d found out about your father’s death, and if it weren’t for her, you really don’t know where you’d be today. Your remembrance of the day you found out was a bit blurred due to the shock of receiving the news. All you know is you woke up one morning, checked the mail, and saw a letter from your father’s boss informing you he’d fallen under some rubble at work and passed away.
As you got up and got ready to study, you remembered you had one more month and so got changed and asked Sky to join you for a day at the academy for sightseeing instead of studying. It’s fine since you had a month anyway, and there was a little scientific event set by the biochem majors today that you really badly wanted to go see.
“Uhhh, I thought you had studying to do today,” Sky said with a raised brow, looking at you in a knowing way.
You stood there looking like an idiot for around a minute before replying very tactfully.
“Nuh uh.”
“Yuh huh. Get your stationery and laptop. We can go see the event, then go to the library to study together. You need to get this assignment going,” she said.
Reluctantly, you agreed and grabbed your bag along with your textbooks, laptop, and a few other little things to go.
The biochemistry event at Piltover University was a bustling affair. The grand hall was filled with displays showcasing innovations and experiments, the air alive with the hum of conversation and the occasional burst of applause. You and Sky wandered through the exhibits, your eyes lighting up at the intricate machinery and complex equations scrawled on presentation boards.
“This is amazing,” you said, pausing to admire a holographic projection of molecular structures. “Makes me wish I had chosen biochem instead of engineering.”
Sky smirked, nudging you. “You’d regret it the moment you saw the workload. Stick to your devices and let these nerds handle the chemicals.”
You laughed, but your attention was soon drawn to a corner of the room where a small crowd had gathered. Curious, you made your way over, Sky trailing behind. At the center of the commotion stood two familiar figures—tall and broad-shouldered, with an easy smile, and lean with a sharp, analytical gaze. Viktor and Jayce.
Your breath hitched as memories of their brief visit to the café flashed in your mind. They were presenting something—a sleek device that pulsed with a faint blue light, its purpose explained in animated gestures by Jayce while Viktor observed the crowd, his gaze suddenly locking on you the moment he noticed you.
“Isn’t that...?” Sky began, but you quickly shushed her, not wanting to draw attention.
“Yes,” you whispered, pulling her to a less conspicuous spot. “They came to the café last week. I made their coffee.”
Sky gave you a look, half-amused, half-curious. “And you’re acting like they’re celebrities because...?”
“I don’t know,” you whined, your eyes involuntarily drifting back to the duo. Jayce was in his element, charming the audience with his enthusiasm, while Viktor’s focus remained unwavering, his sharp eyes scanning the crowd as if seeking something—or someone.
When his gaze landed on you again, a jolt of recognition passed between you. He tilted his head slightly, his expression unreadable, before returning his attention to the presentation. Jayce, meanwhile, finished his explanation with a flourish, earning a round of applause.
“That was something,” Sky said, nudging you again. “You should go talk to them.”
“What? No!” you hissed, horrified at the suggestion. “They wouldn’t even remember me.”
Sky shrugged, her grin mischievous. “Your loss. But don’t come crying to me when you regret it later.”
Ignoring her, you turned your attention back to the exhibits, though your thoughts remained tangled in the brief, charged moment of eye contact. You tried to shake it off, focusing instead on a demonstration involving automated prosthetics. The technology was fascinating, and you couldn’t help but compare it to your own fledgling designs.
“See? Inspiration everywhere,” Sky said, pulling you towards another booth. “Now, let’s soak it all in so you can finish that damn assignment.”
Despite her teasing, you found yourself immersed in the event, the initial awkwardness fading as you absorbed the wealth of ideas and innovation around you. The faces of Viktor and Jayce lingered in the back of your mind, but you pushed them aside, determined to make the most of the day—and to finally tackle your project with renewed focus.
The afternoon flew by as you and Sky explored the event, each booth offering a glimpse into the cutting-edge advancements Piltover was known for. From augmented reality interfaces to bioengineered plants capable of purifying the air, it was a testament to human ingenuity and ambition.
At one booth, a young scientist demonstrated a prototype for a device that could synthesize food molecules, effectively creating meals out of raw elemental compounds. “Imagine,” he said, “no more hunger. No more wasted resources. Just pure efficiency.”
Sky raised an eyebrow. “Sounds like something straight out of a dystopian novel.”
You chuckled, but the comment stayed with you. Piltover’s progress often came at a cost, and the line between innovation and exploitation was razor-thin.
As the event wound down, you and Sky found yourselves back near the presentation area where Viktor and Jayce had been. They were packing up their equipment, their conversation animated yet hushed. You couldn’t hear the words, but their synergy was palpable, each movement and gesture perfectly in sync.
“They make a good team,” Sky observed. “Wonder if they’re as insufferable as they look.”
You snorted. “Jayce, maybe. Viktor? He seems... different.”
“Different how?”
You hesitated, struggling to articulate the impression he left. “I don’t know. Just... quieter. Like he’s always thinking about something important.”
Sky gave you a sidelong glance, her smirk returning. “Sounds like someone’s got a crush.”
“Oh, shut up,” you muttered, swatting at her. But the heat rising in your cheeks betrayed you, and Sky’s laughter echoed as you walked away.
By the time you both finished wondering around the event that evening you lost track of the time and it had already become 8pm. Although neither of you minded and your mind was still buzzing with ideas from the event. You spread your notes and sketches across the library table and determined to channel your inspiration into tangible progress. Sky, ever the supportive friend, plopped down beside you with her own work, the two of you falling into a comfortable silence broken only by the occasional question or comment.
Yet, as you worked, your thoughts kept drifting back to Viktor and Jayce. Their confidence, their camaraderie, the way they seemed to embody the very essence of Piltover’s ideals. And, of course, the way Viktor’s gaze had lingered just a moment too long.
“Focus,” you muttered to yourself, forcing your attention back to your assignment. There would be time for distractions later. For now, you had work to do.

Protection I
Okay I did the quickest of Google searches to get some of this info, please don't hold it against me. I have no idea what I’m doing as usual.
Hope you enjoy, I'm looking forward to writing more of it.
5.2k words
“Y’could’ve jus’ asked,” he called from behind her. “S’dangerous t’walk alone this late at night.”
She rolled her eyes, not that he could see it. “No one is going to try and kidnap me for political purposes on a Wednesday night while I get a drink with friends,” she told him.
“Love, s’not what I meant,” he said gently.
Harry was ready.
He ironed a white button-down shirt and paired it with a blue tie. He put on a grey suitcoat over it to match the slacks he picked out along with black dress shoes that he had long since broken in. In fact, he thought he could probably run a marathon in them if necessary.
He looked over his freshly shaven face, rubbing his jaw with a face lotion his sister got him for his birthday last year. He used the mirror to fix a few astray pieces of hair that refused to sit neatly but not perfectly flat on his head. Part of him wished he didn’t volunteer to do this because his stomach was flipping with anxiety. Sure, he was used to this. Used to the nerves and the first day jitters. It was a good job and was hopefully going to be a great way to see the country. While his English accent made him stick out a bit, it also helped him blend a bit into the background; no one would think that Harry was a special agent there to protect a family member of the US cabinet.
Plus, he was doing Niall a huge favor. Niall was the one that got Harry a job with the Diplomatic Security Service in the first place, so he owed it to Niall to at least try. Make his friend look good and not ruin his reputation. One of Niall’s favorite coworkers was the one that trained Harry to be an agent for the DSS, since Niall wasn’t one. But Niall was the one that had heard horror stories of the girl that wreaked havoc on many of the agents put in place to protect her. Going toe to toe with her meant a more...fulfilling job...after a couple months. At least that’s what Niall had heard and shared with Harry.
“I don’t know what her issue is Harry. But you’re all but DSS’s last hope,” he said. Niall didn’t have to take a round against her. He wasn’t an agent in the protection division. He sat behind a desk going over paperwork. Frequently the paperwork assigning and reassigning the girl’s security detail. But he knew Harry needed a job and he was happy to recommend him. He vouched for him, but Niall was certain the agency would have taken someone off the street and thrown them in the ring at this stage in the game.
Harry was on the younger side. Close to her age, so he had been told in the interview. Maybe that would help. He seemed unfazed. It was just a job. She was just a girl. They had to protect her. But through all he heard, it didn’t sound like they really wanted to protect her all that much anymore.
How much trouble could a twenty-four-year-old graduate biochemistry student get up to?
Niall wished him luck as Harry was debriefed once more about his job. Keep an eye on her, run checks on people she interacts with, make sure she doesn’t die. “Her father is Secretary of State,” they reminded Harry.
Harry nodded. “Got it.”
He took the address that was sent to him into his phone’s GPS and followed the directions to the apartment complex in the small, undercover black SUV issued to him. There was bulletproof glass protecting him from the outside world and tinted windows hiding him through the glass. His mum messaged him.
Good luck, honey bun!
He smirked. Harry may have been twenty-nine, but his Mum’s messages made him feel like a little kid. He adored her, all the way across the pond recognizing what time it was so she could make sure to send him a good luck text as she always had; first day of university, first real job, or even just a trip to the dentist (Harry hated the dentist).
The little apartment complex was inconspicuous. There wasn’t anything special about it, just a brick building with several floors—it couldn’t have been more than 8 apartments. A buzzer door and buttons along the side. The code was sent to him to let himself in.
It’s just a girl. He reminded himself.
Harry took the stairs to the top and fourth floor. It gave him time to calm his nerves and plan his approach based on the way he heard the tales from coworkers. Maybe he would try and befriend her? Harry was down to be friends with her if she wanted. Or maybe that was a bad idea. Maybe he should just try and out-stubborn her. Harry and Gemma used to have contests about who could hold their breath longest when they were young. Harry wasn’t against passing out in the name of winning.
The final steps to her apartment were silent. The current agent at the door looked at Harry with relief. He saluted him, muttered good luck, and hurried back down. Surprised by the immediate departure, Harry gently knocked on the door. The man didn’t even confirm that Harry was his relief. “DSS,” he said quietly to the door.
It took a moment, but at once the door was out of the way. She was shorter than Harry—which arguably wasn’t hard to do with his six-foot frame. Her hair was pulled back by a clip at the back of her head, some strands falling from it to frame her round face. She had a freckle on her brow line and Harry found it unbelievably cute and surprised himself that it was one of the first things he noticed. The space between her eyebrows was pinched together and Harry wanted to smooth it out because even though she was going to be a pain in his ass, she was adorable. Her eyes scanned him quickly and he hoped despite the stories he had heard that she would at least appreciate his professionalism. Her lips were pressed together—not hard, just...resting against one another. Harry was quick to realize it was the least professional thing he could think of: staring at her mouth.
Mum always re-quoted that the eyes were windows to the soul. It was always the first thing Harry noted when he pursued a girl. He loved the idea of gazing into her eyes and trying to find out more about her just through her irises. Maybe if he looked into hers, he would understand why a short little thing like her could scare an entire division of special agents with varying degrees of combat training or intelligence operations.
Her lips pursed into a mocking smile, and she spoke. “Oh, I get it. Send someone young so I relate to them. Someone that will understand my attitude,” she rolled her eyes. Harry raised his eyebrows at her in surprise. Not even a hello. No introduction. Feisty. Right away.
“I’m sorry?”
“Daddy dearest only sent you here because the last seven agents couldn’t handle the paperwork that I made them do. I escape a lot.”
Harry sighed. “Thought y’were gonna be easy,” it was a fib. He knew she was going to be difficult but maybe if he played the part she wouldn’t be as tough on him.
“Nope,” she said petulantly, like that was going to piss Harry off. He assumed it worked on the others that came before him.
Harry could play the petulant game. He was the younger sibling after all. He nodded. “Got it. Well. M’name is Harry. I won’t bother you. I’ll be here if you’d like t’get t’know me. Or when y’leave,” he pulled the door shut and stood beside it. Hands behind his back, listening to the silence inside the door.
“Is this a joke?” She asked through the wood after a full minute. He didn’t respond. The door opened.
“Going somewhere?” Harry asked without looking at her. He could see her in his peripheral.
“No,” she looked at Harry curiously. “You’re not going to...try?” She wondered.
“Try what?” He asked innocently staring at the wall opposite her door.
She shook her head and sighed. “Uh... I’m sorry,” she said awkwardly, uncomfortableness rang in her voice. Harry turned to her, honestly a bit surprised at how readily she apologized. Didn’t seem like something that would be in her repertoire. “Do you want to come in?” She asked. See? Harry thought. She could be perfectly reasonable. “I have seats... you don’t have to stand out here the whole time,” she murmured.
“Thanks, love,” he said politely and followed her through the doorway. He dropped his bag into a seat closest to the door. It just had the department issued computer inside it.
The space was homey. Again, he was surprised by the contrast of the stories he heard versus the sunny outward appearance. He expected rage which he wasn’t sure how that would translate exactly into interior design, but he thought it would be messy. The only hint of a mess was a spot on the coffee table littered with papers and notebooks and a laptop. The grey sofa was also covered with papers and a plain black backpack.
He did not anticipate it being a pretty place. It could rival a florist shop. There were prints of flowers hung on a white mat with black frames at regular spaced intervals. Vinelike garlands decorated with an array of pink flowers of all sorts draped along the slate blue (nearly grey) painted walls near the top of each of the three walls making up the big room—almost like a bordered edge. The fourth wall was the back of the kitchen and contained various appliances leaving no room for flowers, but Harry thought she probably tried when she moved in anyway.
The whole room was open: the sitting room, the dining area, and the kitchen. There were two loveseat sofas, one a modern grey facing the TV. The other perpendicular to the grey one; a solid navy blue that sat in front of three windows. Each window had a sheer grey curtain that matched the sofa, draped with more vines of flowers across all three windows of course. Between the TV and the grey sofa was a grey coffee table and besides the papers and notebooks, there was of course a little vase with pink sunflowers. A large bookshelf was to the left of her TV stand.
In the back corner beside the door was a round dining table and four mismatched dining chairs where Harry had dropped his bag. Another little vase sat in the middle of the table with more pink flowers. The kitchen smelled yummy. Like bacon. That was as much as he could see from the entryway. There was a short little hall but hidden behind a wall he couldn’t see around but assumed a bedroom and a bathroom were around there.
“S’a very nice place,” he murmured.
She was still staring at him as if he just said he liked to eat handfuls of dirt and drink from the river. “Thank you,” she said kindly after a beat of silence. Like she thought maybe it was a trick. “I...I don’t really have any plans tonight. I’ll be studying for an exam I have tomorrow...you could honestly probably leave if you wanted to,”
He thought she sounded genuine but given all the stories, he wasn’t sure. “I’d rather stay put. I can go back in the hall if that would make you more comfortable,” he suggested. “But may I see the rest of the place or would y’rather I wait till later? When you’re less busy?” He asked.
She blinked almost surprised. Harry imagined she wasn’t used to privacy but since he wanted her to like him, he thought respecting her boundaries was going to be the easiest way to do it. Most of her previous details were older. They probably had children of their own around her age or younger and thought treating her like one of their own and bossing her around would be easy. In all the meetings Harry attended and interviews and explanations of the girl before him not once did they seem to note she was an adult.
“Oh...uh...yeah,” she mumbled and gestured for him to walk down the hall. He was right: a bedroom and a bathroom, but he was surprised to find a second bedroom. It didn’t seem like the space was big enough from the outside. She opened all the doors. “This one’s the spare,” she said and showed him the room with nothing but a bed and small three drawer dresser and a chair that looked like it belonged in a college dorm in the corner. There was a door leading to a closet (he assumed). Compared to the main room, it was lackluster given there wasn’t a single flower in the room.
Along the same wall was the bathroom. The room was the same slate grey as the sitting room. The shower curtain was white, with a pattern of pink flowers. The fuzzy bathmat and hand towels matched the pink flowers. A little flowerpot was placed on a shelf hanging above the toilet, but Harry could have predicted at this point that pink flowers would be in the little pot. A chic gold brushed mirror that doubled as a medicine cabinet hung over the sink with the same gold brushed faucet fixtures. A linen closet opposite the light switch right as you walked in, no door to it so he could see her well-stocked array of bathroom necessities, extra towels, and cleaning supplies.
“My room,” she shrugged and pushed the door open. Another bookshelf was draped with green vines. Fascinating. She liked to read a lot, it seemed. A long dresser was beneath the window along the back wall. A nightstand with a biochemistry textbook and a copy of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was closest to the door near the top of her bed. A weird pair of books for late night reading, he thought. Harry would have to pick the non-textbook one up at the bookstore later. Find another way to relate to her. This room was painted a light blue—so light it was almost white. More vines and flowers. Her bed was made neatly. This time slate-blue-almost-grey color again. Once more pink flowers.
“Are y’a botanist?” He asked, turning back for the main room. He didn’t want to spend a lot of time staring at her room and make her uncomfortable.
She smirked, closing the door following behind him. “Just love color and flowers,” she shrugged. “The grey makes it pop,” she explained. “But I wanted a little bluer for my bedroom. Didn’t want it to seem all dreary.” It was the furthest from dreary.
“S’lovely.”
“Well thanks,” she repeated, just as graciously as before.
She sat on the floor in front of the coffee table. “You can make yourself at home, there’s some drinks in the fridge—non-alcoholic of course, since you’re on the job, but I wouldn’t tell anyway,” she murmured and began scribbling on her papers almost instantly.
Harry felt deeply surprised. He pulled his laptop out and checked the emails. The internal messaging system alerted him that Niall had sent a message. How is she?
Fine. He responded.
Harry’s phone vibrated in his pocket immediately. It was Niall. “FINE?” He asked in shock.
Harry shrugged. “Yes.”
Niall released a breath through his lips in surprise. “I can’t believe it. Usually she has people begging for reassignment after five minutes.”
Harry looked over at the girl working at the coffee table. He looked back at his laptop. “Don’t know,” he murmured.
“You can tell whoever you’re talking to that I’m not the bitch everyone makes me out to be if you’re fucking nice to me,” she grumbled.
Harry smirked. “I like her,” he said loud enough for her to hear. But she didn’t pause at all. Nor did she stray from her position or what she was doing to notice Harry’s kind comment.
*
She left Harry in the main room. He would stay until midnight when some woman would take over the detail. She didn’t hate the woman. She at least allowed her privacy when she wanted it. But she was surprised how much she liked Harry and they’d hardly interacted beyond an exchange of pleasantries. Him leaving in a couple hours seemed unfair.
Harry already had her phone number and he told her he would send her a message, so she had his in case of an emergency. “Not sure what emergency exists in my bedroom,” she muttered. He smirked and shrugged.
“Protocol, love,” he said. So he was one of those. She thought.
She liked his accent. Honestly, she liked everything about Harry. He was gorgeous. It was shocking. There was a moment where she forgot she was supposed to be agitated by her security detail when he introduced himself. It was almost instinctive that her hand wanted to reach out and play with his brown locks that curved every which way around his head. His eyes were this piercing green that she felt the desire to repaint her room the same emerald color. She nearly had to crane her neck to see all six feet of him. And in a simple suit, he was just...beautiful.
But then he pulled the door shut not taking her shit for even a second. Her brain felt out of sorts as she tried to reconcile the attitude, she wanted to have against the one she felt. Not once did someone just back off her. Maybe having someone closer to her age was the trick. But she didn’t want a security detail. Right?
Harry was so utterly polite, complimenting her place, respecting her boundaries as much as possible given his position. Ugh. He was ruining all the hard work she had put in to be a bitch toward DSS.
Fortunately, her phone vibrated as she closed the door to her bedroom. It was a friend from one of her classes telling her they were having a round of drinks before their final exam in the morning. She didn’t want to go. It was ten o’clock and her brain was exhausted from the marathon studying all afternoon and evening with her only breaks introducing herself to Harry and when she ordered them pizza.
Harry insisted on paying. Another weird notion from him. She never really ordered food for her security details, but she always did offer, and she always paid. Her mother taught her to have manners and be polite, even if she was mad—it would make her more amicable. However, she thought a lot of her previous agents assumed she was trying to poison them when she ordered them food. Harry didn’t talk much to her while they ate. He asked her what she was studying and if she felt confident about the exam.
She worked her ass off to be successful in her classes. She was one of the top students, she knew it. But everyone else saw it as the Secretary of State’s doing, not her own. But yes, she was confident about the exam.
But now it was 10:04 and she wanted to be included. She didn’t want to come off as “Daddy’s little princess” and the goody-two-shoes she was accustomed to being. Biting her lip, she pressed her ear to her door. She couldn’t hear Harry at all. Harry seemed cooler than her other details, she could probably just ask him to take her and hang back as far as humanly possible. He told her he was going to read the files on the people she surrounded herself with while she went to sleep.
He would be back first thing in the morning for a full day of watching her every movement. She quietly changed into an easy, comfy outfit. Jeans, t-shirt, her most comfortable broken-in Keds. She glanced at the mirror on the back of her closet and put on a couple dabs of concealer around her eyes and a few swipes of mascara. It was one round of drinks; she would be back before Harry left his post and she wouldn’t even have to worry about locking up her apartment. She shoved her ID and her credit card into the back of her phone case and then put it in her back pocket.
Carefully, she opened the window pausing around the part that always groaned in the humidity from the outside August air. She quietly pulled the screen in and laid it on her bed. With cat-like soft feet, she got out onto the platform of the fire escape. Closing the window behind her, once more minding the swelled portion. She made her way down the fire escape. The walk to the bar was less than half a mile.
As she turned the corner of the building to walk along the streetlamp-lit roads she was pushed suddenly and almost violently against the building. She nearly lost her footing, but the person kept her upright and was surprisingly gentle with her before she slammed into the bricks. Her lungs inhaled, ready to let out a scream, but a hand was covering her mouth at the same time causing her heart rate to skyrocket. “Seriously?” Harry’s accent cut through her terrified mind.
The terror seeped out of her mind as anger coursed through her. Maybe the close in age thing wasn’t going to be a good plan after all. If this was one of her other agents, they wouldn’t have known she was gone until she had finished her drink and was walking back home. She shoved his hand from her mouth, and she glared at him. Her body was shaking with her fight or flight response and a lot rage. “What?” She snapped and started marching down the road.
The kindness in his tone made her attitude waver again. But she was mad that he caught her. That never happened. She didn’t want to be sneakier. She thought she might actually like Harry. He even said he liked her to whoever he was on the phone with—that made her heart warm despite how she pretended not to hear. If Harry liked her, it would be much harder to maintain the isolated, bitchy attitude she gave all the other security agents.
“What’s there to worry about? Someone shoving me against a building and covering my mouth?” She grumbled.
“I didn’t want t’scare you; I was jus’ trying t’show you that someone could’ve snuck up,” he was keeping his distance from her, but she listened intently for the practically soundless footsteps. The only reason she could hear him was because it rained and made the little scratchy pebbles and dirt crunch under his feet ever so slightly.
“By scaring me,” she stated, still not looking at him.
He sighed. “M’sorry. I thought...” he trailed off. She didn’t make him finish his sentence. She thought too—he knew the stories of her, but he thought he would be different. They walked probably two tenths of a mile in silence. “M’sorry, love,” he repeated. “S’my first day. Didn’t want you t’get hurt.”
She sighed. He did sound remorseful. And she still kind of liked him. Mostly because as tragic as it sounded, he seemed to be more worried about her safety as a female walking dark streets and not a political official’s daughter. “It’s alright,” she mumbled. “I should have just asked,” she agreed a bit begrudgingly. “Just figured it was one drink and I’d be home before you left.”
He didn’t say anything. She stopped in her tracks. She could see the sign for the bar where her friends were down the long street before her. She turned to Harry. He looked relieved.
They gazed at each other a moment. Harry would be a worth adversary, she thought to herself. It was like he heard her thoughts because his next words almost tried to refute the idea. “I don’t like t’do paperwork,” he told her those pretty green eyes focused on her intently. He was serious. His jaw flexed tightly.
She smirked. “No promises.”
*
She spotted Harry at the end of the stairway, leaning against the wall as she exited the building where she had taken her exam. He had to be sweating in the suit slacks and button down—even if the sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. His left arm had several tattoos lining his arm while the right only had one or two. He wasn’t wearing a tie today nor a suit coat—she wanted to tell him she didn’t really give a shit what he wore, but he seemed the professional type. Being the middle of August, it was hot as could be. He didn’t seem to care, glancing every which way through a pair of black sunglasses. She couldn’t see his eyes and she suddenly realized she missed seeing the green even though she’d only gotten one good look at them.
Unfortunately, in all her ogling she missed the last two steps sending her straight into someone in front of her and she fell to the ground on the hot sidewalk, scraping her knee like a child. Fortunately, as a biochem major, she had to wear pants whenever setting foot in the lab so the yoga pants she wore—while hot for a summer day—probably saved her just a bit from a worse cut. It did cause a few tears in the fabric and her knee would surely bruise.
Harry started to rush over but the guy she bumped into helped her back to standing. “You okay there?” He asked.
Harry stood back a few feet as the guy helped. “Uh...yeah. Sorry, I missed the last step,” she said with a slight awkward laugh. She brushed the dirt from her hands that were also scraped as well as the length of her forearm since she was allowed to wear short sleeves (especially since it was exam day).
“Oh hey! You’re—” As soon as she realized he recognized her she closed her eyes and sighed.
“Yeah,” she mumbled. “Sorry,” she hurried off, limping slightly as she realized she really smacked her knee and the way it scraped definitely made it sore to bend. She didn’t want to be recognized. She wanted to be herself and not have this political precursor follow her everywhere.
They were making their way back toward the SUV Harry had parked nearby when he had dropped her off this morning so she wouldn’t be late. Good luck he had called out when she closed the door behind her. “Are y’alright?” Harry’s accent was a few paces behind her. She felt embarrassed so she didn’t turn around. She nodded.
“Yeah. Just a scrape. Want to go home and take a nap in the AC.”
Can’t argue with y’there,” he chuckled.
She smirked; glad he couldn’t see her. “You don’t have to wear a suit all the time,” she told him. “It’s a thousand degrees out. You’ll die of a heat stroke before you can protect me.”
He seemed to ignore her joke, but she was still a bit genuinely concerned he would overheat. “How was your exam?” He asked.
She turned finally and looked at him. He stopped short, still a few steps behind her. They probably looked odd beneath the shaded trees. Both dressed not for a summer day. Harry looked threatening, surprisingly. He didn’t when she saw him in her apartment or even when he walked her home at eleven last night. He looked like a regular guy even if he was overdressed in a half suit. She noted the gun in its holster on his hip and she wondered how good of a shot he was. Not because she thought he would be bad or because she thought he would ever need to shoot it in her presence but because she was genuinely curious about him. She still had her backpack on of course. Her knee bent slightly with a tear in her pants. Quite the pair.
His glasses were still covering his eyes, hiding probably the most assured way to understand what he was thinking. But despite all she thought about the DSS, Harry was nice. Even if it had only been the inside of 24 hours.
It was shame she was a bitch to her security detail.
“Uh...easy,” she said. “A lot of my friends complain about studying and it sucks, but obviously it was worth it,” she shrugged. “I only struggled with one long response question, and I knew that I would going into it,” she explained.
“S’good, m’happy for you,” a little smile twinged at his lips and he sounded so genuine. It surprised her. Like he was really taking an interest in her.
But then she remembered this was his job and he probably couldn’t give two shits about her or exam. She tilted her head and scanned the man before her as if that negative thought would reveal itself. Of course, it didn’t. The glasses were hiding his true emotions. She would have to figure out Harry later. It was too hot, even in the shade.
Silently she turned on her heel looking at the air-conditioned oasis of that SUV. Harry opened the door for her, something she was not used to before closing her neatly and safely inside. Once Harry opened his door she asked her question. “Can we get coffee?” She asked.
“Coffee?”
“My treat,” she smirked.
“I thought you wanted a nap?”
“Yeah, but I have to work later and if you drink coffee before a nap, the coffee will kick in right when you wake up.”
He tilted his head at her before he pulled into the road. “Didn’t know y’have a job.”
“It’s remote,” she shrugged.
“Oh.”
“So coffee?”
“If that’s what you want, love.”
Harry drove in silence to the closest coffee shop he could find, and she got out of the car quickly before stopping at the driver’s window. “Can I get you anything?” She asked kindly.
“Uh...an iced tea would be nice,” he said curiously.
She was not the bitch everyone made her out to be. “Sure,” she said and rushed inside. Harry kept the window rolled down and could see her perfectly through the window. It took no more than ten minutes, and she was back at the car handing him iced tea through his open window before she got into the car. Harry wasn’t really sure what to make of her. But he was sure that he liked her. She was funny. In her own sort of way. He watched her sip her drink as she settled back into the car.
It would be fun.
Protecting her.
“I could send you a picture if you’d like to stare at me longer,” she blinked in excess at him. Fluttering her pretty eyelashes as her quick witted tone pierced his thoughts.
Right?

NOTES ➤ IM BACK!!!!! it's been a while but here we are (another mcu! fic) hehe this time i made jay as a villain instead of hero! i hope yall enjoy reading this as much as i enjoyed writing it!!
As soon as the class was dismissed, you quickly made your way to the Coffee Bean– the usual place you and your friends would meet. You turn on your phone, checking if he has replied to your text but to your dismay, he didn't even open your text at all.
Your worries turn to anger, the least he could do is text you why he hasn't been to class for the past few days and stop making everybody worried sick. Silencing didn't make anything better.
Nevertheless, you put your phone back in your pocket and walk toward the Coffee Bean that is not so far away from your university.
“Jake!” you exclaim happily, it’s been a while since you met him in Coffee Bean. Jake is one of your closest friends at the university, he’s the one who reached out to you after seeing you sitting alone during orientation week.
You are so thankful for the brunette’s extrovert side for making a small group of friends including him, you, Winter, and Jay.
Speaking of Jay, he is the one who is much closer to you than Winter and Jake due to both of you attending class together in the business administration course meanwhile Jake and Winter attend Biochemistry.
At first, everything went on smoothly and the four of you never missed hanging out at Coffee Bean as soon as your class ended or hanging out at night just to kill time. However, the hanging out spot is starting to get unfamiliar with the faces of the four of you since each one of you is occupied by the piles of assignments.
You give Jake a quick hug before ordering your choice of drink from the counter. As the two of you settle down, choose the table next to the picture window of the cafe, wanting to see the view of New York City. Usually, Jake must be in the lab for his experiments or working part-time as a photographer at The Daily Bugle, there’s no in between.
Hence, that’s the reason why you are beamed seeing Jake in the cafe.
“Where’s Jay?” he asked, seeing you come in alone.
You sigh.
That’s the thing that made you restless and angry for the past few weeks. You take a sip of your drink before leaning to the back of the chair.
“That bad, huh ?” he chuckles
“He has been absent for two weeks now Jake! He doesn't tell me anything at all, not even a single call or text. Nothing, Jake. It's like he's dead and I think if there's an award for the most anxious girl for her best friend it would be me as the winner”
“He still assigned all of his work on time, and that's what makes me angry! He could tell us what's been going on instead of abandoning us like this…” you added.
Jay is the cheerful and kindest friend you ever had aside from Winter and Jake. He always cracks the dumbest and lamest joke you ever heard and honestly, it’s one of his charms and that's why you and him click so well.
But for the past few months, after the death of his dad, his entire demeanor changed 100%. He started to skip classes, hanging out and didn't even show up in the group chat. The three of you understand he needs time to heal and Jake is the one who always checks up on him from time to time but due to his busy life, he can't go to Jay’s house for a moment until to this day.
No one ever got to see Jay’s cheerful personality anymore. You miss that, you want to help but he keeps avoiding everyone which makes it difficult for you.
Jake clicks his tongue after hearing your story. Honestly, on Jake’s side, he feels awful because due to his busy life, he can't be there for Jay. He knows how hard it is to lose someone you love. For him, losing his Uncle Ben was mournful for him.
“I'll check up on him on the way home… I think he’s not fully healed yet” Jake assured you
“Can I go with you?” you asked, eyes filled with hope. You never step inside Jay’s house since you have feelings that his father disliked you and Winter so it's always Jake who is always going to Jay’s house.
Jake nods his head
“Let’s just hope he open the door for us” the brunette jokes
–
As you and Jake arrive at Osborn’s penthouse, your mouth turns into an O seeing how big his house is. You are aware Jay is a billionaire son, but still you didn't expect his house would be this big.
Before the two of you can even knock on his penthouse door, Jake freezes on the spot for a few moments, his face frowning for a second, making you worried.
“You okay, Jake?” you asked genuinely. You noticed this behavior of Jake since you knew him but never got a chance to talk to him about it since he is rarely around.
“Uh.. y-yeah… you know what, I forgot something in the lab! You go first, I will come back later” he trailed off.
He didn't give you a chance to talk or even react to his weird behavior and quickly ran off from Osborn’s penthouse.
Once again you sigh, now you’re alone in front of this huge penthouse. You licks your dry lips, suddenly feel nervous, nonetheless you press on the bell. It didn't take more than 5 seconds before the wooden door opened.
“Yes?”
“I’m Y/N! One of Jay’s friend–”
“Jay doesn't want to see anyone” the old grumpy woman spat to you, with annoyance in her tone.
Honestly you didn't predict that the answer would be no and it makes the situation more awkward with you standing like a figure in front the door while the old lady looking at you with obvious frown plastered on her face.
Besides it would be awkward to walk back to campus, you can't let the thought of Jake coming back from whatever business he is doing and find out you didn't even visit Jay although you’re the one who insists on coming.
It would be the top 3 embarrassing moments for you.
“Please! I’m Jay’s friend!” you begs
“He made it clear to everyone, he doesn't want to see anybody, miss”
“Uh, can you just let me in? If he doesn't want to see me, then he can tell it to my face”
Your adamant makes the old lady sigh in annoyance nonetheless, she opens the door widely, giving you space to enter the huge penthouse.
“I trust you to not touch anything in this house” she warned and led you to Jay’s room.
You nodded although the maid didn’t see it, your way to Jay’s room feels forever due to many corners you take, this penthouse feels like a maze for you. Your eyes are locked on the portrait frames that are hanging on the wall. The more steps you take the more evolution you see in those portraits.
From the family portrait to Jay’s solo portrait hanging on the wall alone. His face gloomy, eyes slightly swollen from crying you assume, it must be tough for him. On top of that, you also noticed how Jay already lost his smile in the portrait since his mother is out of the picture, you didn't want to profile anything but yet you can't help but to presume that Jay's relationship with his father did not click well.
Moreover, before his father’s death he rarely went home even it’s holiday season.
“We’re here. Knock before you enter, if you get yelled at, don’t blame me.. I already informed you” she said and quickly left the scene like she doesn't want to be there at all.
You take a deep breath before knocking on his door twice.
No answer.
Once again you knock, a lot louder than the first one.
“Jay, it’s me… Y/N”
One, two, three, four, five
It took him five seconds to get to the door, you don't know why you counted it in your brain but you blame it on the nervousness that filled you.
The door opened, showing Jay with an obvious dark circle underneath his eyes, his face pale and his veins looking green? It’s so obvious since his skin is fair. To say that your reaction is shock would be an understatement, you are horrified by his conditions now, it looks way too different from the old Jay.
“Oh my, Jay– what happened to you? God, your maids didn't do anything?” suddenly feels anger towards the old lady earlier, is she not aware of the physical change in Jay?
Jay shuts his eyes tightly for a second before pulling you into his big room, his room is clean and you could smell the lavender scent coming from automatic air freshener. He gestures to you to sit on his bed before drawing the curtain, letting the sunlight to lighten the dark room.
“Jay..” you called him, you did not like the silence and it's killing you seeing him showing his back towards you and just stare at the window like a mannequin.
“I’m dying, Y/N” he says after a while.
You quickly get off from his bed and pull his grabbed biceps to make him face you.
“What are you talking about, Jay?” your eyes for sure are already forming tears, one blink away from it to fall. Jay shooks his head seeing your watery eyes, he’s mouthing no for several times before pulling you into a hug, a long hug.
It's the first time both of you share this kind of physical connection yet it feels natural, you feel comfortable being wrapped around Jay’s arms and you hope he feels the same too– at least you can comfort him a little.
“Don’t cry please, Y/N” he whispered while kissing the top of your head.
You slowly loosen around his arms and take a look at his pale face. Oh god, how you love to see his face on daily basis– his happy face, free from worry and stress. You can't afford to see his condition right now, it feels like his soul slowly disappears.
“It must be some way…”
“I’m currently searching for the way, but for now I’m dying”
“Is that why you didn’t come to class?” His nods make you mutters oh god under your breath.
“Jay, you know you’re not alone, right? You have me, Jake and Winter! We’re your friends, and we’re–”
“I only need you right now, Y/N” he cuts off your nagging and it makes you freeze.
Need you?
“I like you, like a lot. I like you more than friends…I wanna spend my last moment with you”
You slowly push him away, take a moment to process what he just said. The sudden confession he just made didn't make you flutter at all but more to confusion and mixed feelings. This is not what you imagined how someone would propose to you to be their girlfriend.
“Jay, what the hell? You can't put me in the position like this, if I reject you and then you die I would literally be in guilt forever in my life! This is unfair”
“Are you rejecting me right now?” he asked
“What, no! Of course no, if you asked me properly I wouldn't say no because I also like you a lot!” you answer in a hectic way, too much for your brain to process.
Jay chuckles seeing your panic state and hugs you to calm you down. He swings your body to left and right to soothe you. It’s a bummer that he got balls to confess to you when he has incurable disease and is in the state of waiting for death. Nevertheless he dont regret for a bit because instead of dying alone like his father, he at least has you– you are the only one who can make his short time precious as it ever be.
He still vividly remember the first time Jake introduced you to him and Winter, at that time he felt his heart stop for a second, you are attractive in his eyes, your laugh whenever Jake making science joke is the most wonderful sound he had ever listened to, he thought he was going crazy on how he quickly attracted to you. He never really understands the concept of love. He can’t barely remember how to be loved or to be cared for by someone, hence it’s hard for him to show affection to others. Even his father didn't treat him as his son.
It took him some time to realize it was love at first sight– he keeps falling for you every single day, every single hour you spend with him.
“I don't know how to confess since I have never had an interest in someone. You’re the first one and it’s sucks that I'm dying”
“We’re gonna make sure to find the cure, there’s no way your father company didn't do any research” you said
“I’m gonna go to the company tomorrow, my father said he's working on something before he died so I'm just gonna check on it… hopefully something positive” he said
You close your eyes and rest your head on Jay’s chest finding it comfortable, hoping for a miracle to happen.
–
“He what?!”
You nod your head and let out a small sigh, seeing Jake and Winter’s shock face doesn't surprise you since you are almost facing with a grim reaper after you heard the shocking news coming out from Jay.
“How is that possible?”
“He said, it’s a genetic disease, if they didn't treat it fast, he could ended up like his father”
While you and Winter are talking to each other about Jay’s condition, the both of you didn't realize Jake fell into deep silence. He didn't say a word after you opened up about Jay’s condition. You only took a glance at him and could sense how hard it must be for him to learn about Jay’s condition in this way, after all he and Jay have already been friends since high school.
Jake didn't say anything and just burst out of the cafe. You and Winter can only look at him leaving, after all both of you didn't have any place to stop his action.
“You’re looking at the world’s first human-spider hybrid.”
“The hope is to extract the venom from their glands and turn that into a cure. An agent that heals diseased cells.”
“And if I can be cured, imagine what this could do for other diseases like Alzhemier and even cancer”
Jay immediately pauses the unreleased video of his father and Jake’s predictions based on their experiment towards the human-spider hybrid.
“They never made it to human trials. It's 14 years of research, and nothing to show for it.” Jay muttered.
Jake worriedly took a look at his best friend. What you said about the condition is true, Jake clearly could see the green vein around his neck and his under eyes getting darker than the last time he saw him.
Jake wants to visit him at first but after a quick catch up, Jay asks him to follow him to his father’s secret lab and he made Jake watching the unreleased video with him together, Jake’s father already died when he was a child thus it’s confirmed that this video already been in Oscorp’s company for a long time and Jake also sure that there’s must be a reason this video never released to public view.
Nevertheless, he is overwrought by what would happen after this.
“Except maybe this” Jay gets up to get the newspaper from the cabinet in front of the projector and slams it on the desk.
The Daily Bugle
Jake's face turns serious, he could sense where this conversation is gonna end up.
“Spiderman” Jay utters.
“What about him?” Jake asked, his voice came out a little shaky but went unnoticed by Jay.
“He was bitten by one of those things, and it worked. I don't know how and I don't know why, but he can do everything else a spider can, including self-heal. I need to find him, I need his blood.”
Jay’s statement makes Jake look at him with mixed feelings. Scared, anxious, worried and he can’t even look at his best friend's face right now.
“You need… Spiderman’s blood?”
Jay nods his head, his deadly eyes looking straight to Jake’s making his knees wobble resulting in him sitting on the chair.
“It’ll save my life”
“It may not, Jay. It may not be that simple. You saw what happened to Curt Connors, right?”
Jay let out a big sigh and rubbed his face using both of his palms. Of course he knew Dr. Curt Connors, that man was one of scientists in his father’s company. He didn't exactly know why his father fired him but he knows that Dr. Connors turns into a lizard by using his failed experimental serum.
“Connor was weak, this is me Jake” Jay muttered, feeling annoyed by Jake that seems not on his side.
Jake gulped, he’s the one who fought with Dr Connors, he knows the serum was no good for any human being besides Jake only survived the spider’s bite only because of his father’s DNA or else he’s gonna end up like Dr. Connors too or maybe worse.
Jake feels bad towards Jay, he wants to help him so badly, he could give him his blood as much as he wants to recover but he knows it will go haywire. His blood is poisonous to him, he didn't come from his father’s bloodline and surely his blood is gonna make him die slowly or instantly.
“I don't think you can just set up a van and have him donate. I mean I'm sure he’s sensitive about people shoving needles and–” Jake tries to hide his puzzled emotion by cracking a joke but to his dismay Jay seems like have no time for a joke by looking at his serious face.
“Ah he's sensitive, okay..” Jay chuckle dryly
“Well then maybe you could just sensitively tell me where he is, and I will go ask him myself!” he added
“What?”
“You took his picture”
“So?”
“You know him”
Jake is speechless, he could hear Jay’s quavering voice and see how desperate Jay’s eyes are right now.
“Jay, I took pictures from a long way. I used a long lens. I don’t know him” Jake trailed off, at this point he was also desperate; he was hoping for Jay to throw away all the dumb ideas that were already planted in his mind.
“I put together what you said at Coffee Beans.”
“About how he give people hopes”
“You know, that spider guy is so weird” Jay speaks up, looking at Jake who’s currently reading some science comic book
“What do you mean?” he asked, a little offended not gonna lie
“He wears spandex to save the kitten from the tree” Jay snickered. It’s not like he holds grudges to the spider guy but he dont take him seriously just like others or more precisely, like J.Jonah Jameson.
“Well, I kinda like to think he gives people hope…”
“For what?”
“Maybe eventually everything’s gonna be alright”
Jay chuckles hearing Jake’s answer, he didn't know that his best friend is one of Spiderman’s fans
“Okay dude, let's not get serious now shall we” he teased and continued to read the science comic book that Jake brought to the cafe.
Jake mentally cursed himself, that’s not what he meant at all! Jay is so desperate to the point everything is a clear path with no hazard to him.
“Come on, just say yes…” Jay begged, he doesn't have much time and seeing Jake seems hesitant making him slowly lose his patience.
Jake takes a look at Jay for a mere second before getting up and taking his backpack– leaving the secret lab and his response to Jay’s wish only making the sick guy lose his patience immediately.
“Don't turn your back on me!” Jay yelled, he grabbed Jake’s shoulder harshly to face him. His brows furrowed and jaw tense. He is dying and can’t Jake see how desperate he is right now?
“I don't wanna end up like my father, Jake please…” he pleaded, Jay lowered his face and in his mind, mixing spiderman blood with his father’s antidote is the only way to survive, to spend forever, together with you.
“I'm gonna try and find Spiderman” Jake said after a moment of silence and left Jay alone in the lab.
—
“You know, we can have a date inside your penthouse instead of at this cafe, I don’t mind it” you said, your left hand softly rubbing Jay’s slightly rough hand.
Jay gives you a small smile and uses the other hand of his to softly rub your hand.
“Nah, don’t treat me like a sick person Y/N… Let me bring you to a normal date”
“But Jay, it’s hot outside and you wearing long sleeve and wrapped scarf around your neck tortured me”
Since Jay is a public figure, many journalists follow him everywhere he goes for a picture or some useless news just to filled on the newspaper’s cover to attract the public and that's why you are worried about him, the journalists for sure will make up some fake news after seeing him dressing like it's cold outside even though it’s summer.
“Hey, nothing to worry about, okay? If I’m not feeling good, I'm gonna inform you but right now I'm feeling relaxed for a while because I’m having a slice of cake with my wonderful girlfriend” he bragged while looking at you mischievously.
You let out a small laugh hearing his words and take a spoonful of the cake you bought earlier at the cafe. You trust Jay but you don't hesitate to call his bodyguard if things go south.
“Did you see Jake?” you asked, suddenly remember the other day that Jake burst out from the cafe to meet Jay.
“Did he tell you anything?” Jay asked
You shook your head while taking another spoonful of cake to your mouth
“I don’t see him since the day we met at Coffee Bean”
Seeing Jay didn’t respond to your statement making you frown, usually he would tell you everything about what he discussed with Jake but right now it seems off, he didnt wanna talk about it at all.
“Hey, has anything happened between you and Jake?” you asked, you worried if these two best friends caught in argument since Jay is a bit sensitive lately.
“Nothing you have to worry about, I promise”
His words don't convince you at all, but you respect his decision at the moment. Maybe if he’s ready to tell everything, he will..
–
It’s been a week. A week had passed since Jay asked Jake for Spiderman to see him, but to his dismay, the guy in red and blue spandex didn't come to meet him at all. He was more furious rather than disappointed in Jake. His green veins became obvious, his skin became rough and green patches started growing on his scalp, face, hands, and everywhere on his body and his body getting weaker and weaker everyday. He needs the Spiderman’s blood to survive but since Jake was too selfish to help him, he decided to do everything by himself.
There’s no way he's gonna die, he is not gonna leave you this quickly.
Thus, Jay makes his way to his father’s lab, ignoring all of his maids saying that he should be in bed to rest. He is not gonna rest until he gets what he wants– the cure.
Jay steps into the cold lab and locks in from the inside in case anyone in the house is following him. With energy left in his body, he grabs the lab coat and everything he needs from the shelves to enhance his father’s old formula. If the formula that his father uses fails, then he is going to depend on his science understanding to make improvements to the formula.
“Good evening, New York. This is Betty Brant reporting live from Central Park. In an extraordinary event that unfolded earlier today, our very own friendly neighborhood Spider-Man made headlines once again.”
As it cut to the scene, Jay could see the spider guy swinging from building to building and quickly climb onto the tree to save the poor cat.
“Behind me are the charred remains of what was once a towering tree, a familiar sight to many park-goers. Earlier today, this tree was ablaze, and trapped within its branches was a terrified feline” the reporter on the scene reported.
"I just saw the flames and heard the poor thing meowing. It was awful. But then, out of nowhere, Spider-Man swings in! May God bless him”
“According to eyewitnesses, Spider-Man arrived just in time–”
Jay throws the remote away, he unconsciously turns on the television as he sees a small television across the lab. He doesn't have any idea why his father put a television in the lab but he is pissed off now.
Nowadays it's all about Spiderman. Everywhere he goes spiderman must be their main topic making him sick. Does the world revolve around spiderman? Jay's hatred towards the super hero increases as he thinks; that the spider guy that got his power from his company and didn’t even wanna help him when he's dying but he can make an effort to save a useless cat?
Well, Spiderman needs to be humble once Jay completes his own brand new improved formula.

“Here’s your favorite pretzel” Jake handed you the hot pretzel, fresh from the oven perhaps. You called him last night to meet him at the park since it’s so hard to meet him unscheduled. The brunette takes a big bite of his pretzels, humming while he chews on it. You can't help but giggle at his undying habits.
“You looks like you didn't eat for a week”
“Yeah fighting with criminals–”
Jake stops chewing and looks at you with a frightened look. Did he just…
“You need to stop playing video games, Jake. You’re like addicted to it”
Jake exhales his breath, awkwardly laughing at your face and takes a bit of his pretzel. Your dumbness saves him from leaking his own biggest secret ever.
“Y..yeah haha”
You take a bite of your pretzel after a while, your eyes locked on the scenery in front of you. The view of the park at night plus the wind successfully makes you calm from thinking about Jay for a while. These past few weeks, after you and Jay ended up together, both of you have been occupied by doing research about Jay’s cure every night to the point you keep late to class.
“Uh, how’s Jay?” he asked
“He’s changing.. And his temper is getting worse, sometimes he acts not like himself” you trailed off. You get caught in an argument with Jay one night when your theory clashes with his theory, it’s a small matter but Jay’s yelled at you as if you’re making a terrible choice which makes you cry but luckily Jay comes back to his senses and keeps apologizing to you the whole night.
“Did you argue with him, Jake?” you asked
Jake nods his head, looking at his shoes. He feels sorry for Jay for not helping him but he can’t. His blood can't help him heal.
“I assume it’s bad, Jay didn't even want to talk about you at all”
“He asked me for a Spiderman’s blood”
“Oh, he once said that Spiderman’s blood was gonna save him…” you remember that time when Jay said Spiderman’s blood could cure him but you didn't say anything to him. His theory of science, making your mind puzzled.
“And you trust him? In a logic mind person kind point of view, not girlfriend’s point of view” Jake asked
“Honestly, I don’t– like there’s must be other way to cure him instead taking that weird guy’s blood”
“I know– wait a minute, you think Spiderman is weird?” Jake frowns, he tilts his head a little.
“If you think about it, yes! Like why does he associate with spiders in the first place?”
“Hey there’s a thing called an accident. Accident happens!”
“Whatever, he’s such a weirdo but what he is doing is good”
“He is nice,” Jake agreed.
“Hehehe”
Sounds of a creature let out a hideous chuckle from the air frighten both of you and Jake. The two of you look up to the air and there’s a green creature in the air riding a glider.
You let out a gasp.
“Monster!”
“Run, Y/N” Jake yelled and grabbed your wrist to run away from the park. His pace is fast, you almost couldn't catch up with him and for a moment you slightly feel that your feet didn't even touch the ground, it feels like he dragged you along.
“Now, go home!” he panted.
“What the hell? Me, alone?” You couldn’t believe what you have heard, Jake is sending you home alone, with this green monster flying in the air?
“Sorry, I need to check on Aunt May!” he nervously swallowed his saliva.
“Okay, I’m following you”
“What, no!”
“What do you mean, no? Jake, we're in danger!”
Jake runs his finger through his hair, he let out a big sigh and dragged you to the street. He can’t casually say that he is Spiderman and needs to save the city, it would be more complicated than how things are going now.
Jake ignored your squealing and he stuck out his hand to the street after he saw a taxi.
“Jake, what are you doing? Let me go!”
“Please send her to Empire State University, thank you!” and with that Jake closes the taxi door leaving you alone in the taxi while he runs off back to the park.
“Jake, you bitch!” you scream at him but are suppressed by the window.
–
“Oh ho, what did we get here? A green man? We have a hulk and it’s enough, imposter” Jake uttered, he was grateful that he was fast enough to change and the creature didn't harm the citizens yet.
“Spiderman!” the creature bellowed, his voice echoing through the park. Jake raised his brow underneath his mask, the face of the creature seems familiar but his voice is so deep and rough. Jake quickly shot a web to the nearest tree and swung his body towards the creature; he was so close to kick the glider that the creature was riding but failed as the creature swerved on his glider, avoiding Jake’s attack.
“What, green goblin?” Jake muttered, he remembered the glider and all green costume was Green Goblin persona, he fought Norman Osborn five months ago. Does he come back? Is his death news fake?
“I defeated him five months ago after the lizard attacked the city…” he added, if this is Norman Osborn and he can't imagine how Jay’s gonna react to all this
“Well, the generations continue, Spidey Boy…” he growled and took this advantage to glide towards Jake and punch him in the face numerous times.
With their distance so close with each other and with every time his fist landed on Jake’s cheek, he became aware who’s the green goblin in front of him now, it’s not Norman Osborn but his son, Jay.
Jake isn't the type who felt sympathy for all the villains he fought, he despised them. He hates how they all use their power and intelligence for their own benefits. But this time, it was different.
Suddenly he has no strength to fight Jay back since he knows it’s not Jay that is fighting him but it’s the demon inside his body– the parasite that takes control of his body once they knew their host was already weak.
He can’t make Jay’s fate end up like his father.
Jake kicks the Green Goblin on the stomach, making the boy slightly back away from Jake and he webbed his hand to prevent the Green Goblin from punch him, along with this opportunity– Jake kicks the creature off from his glider and was about to make the real Jay conscious of the situation but luck wasn’t on his side when the demon inside Jay have strong power than his web have. He easily ripped off the web and took out his blade from his costume, his eyes full of rage.
“You are not a hero, you can’t even save him” he scowls
But before the Green Goblin can make his move, a loud thwack resonates through the park. The Green Goblin stumbles, caught off guard by the impromptu action.
Jake’s eyes widen seeing Jay fall to the ground while touching his dizzy head and releasing his breath that he didn't know he held. He quickly got up and grabbed your wrist, going a bit further from the creature.
“You!” Jake swore
You give him a side smile, it wasn't your intention to minding in Spiderman’s business but you are worried sick about Jake, he can't even fight ants if his life on stake and seeing his running back to the park make you uneasy and you get off from the taxi on the first traffic light.
Long story short, while looking for Jake you saw Spiderman about to get killed and thanks to the kid who left their baseball bat in the park, you used it as a weapon to hit the green creature.
“Thank you, but NEVER do that again!” Jake warned
“Oh.. okay, but do you see my friend, Jake?” you asked while he dragged you away from the scene
“How on earth do I know Jake?” Jake asked, sometimes he wonders how you would survive in this world if Spiderman didn't exist.
“Uh, if you found a boy wearing a flannel with black backpack, please get him home safely, he can’t fight!” you said
“Okay! Just go home, run, now!” Jake screams and pushes you away as Jay slowly returns to his senses.
The Green Goblin growls, turning his attention to you.
You immediately run after Spiderman yelled at you, you swore you using your 100% your energy to run away from the dangerous spot yet in a seconds you felt your feet not touching the ground and your body float into the air it took you a moment for you to realized that the creature already capture you into his arms.
Your screams were loud and clear but it didn't flinch. He turns you to facing him and his rough hands wrap around your neck and put pressure on it making you gasp for air.
Your eyes are glossy at this point, your mouth wide open for air and your fingers scratch his hands. At this point you can’t focus on your surroundings, your eyes locked on the creature. Something about his eyes seems familliar.
Those eagle-shaped eyes…
“J-Jay?”
Your guess was correct after seeing the creature was taken aback after you called your boyfriend’s name.
“J..Jay it’s m-me” you try your best to speak although it’s hard for you to breathe at this point.
“Shut up!” the Green Goblin scowls. You know Jay didn't even control his own body, so you tried to call his name numerous times until you could see his green pupil slowly turning brown yet the creature didn't give up and took control of Jay’s body back and he is choking you harder than before.
Your mind is hazy and your vision getting blurred, you are one second away from fainting? Dying? You can’t think at this point but you are so sure you’re about to black out.
Jake swung from the lighting pole, his speed and agility allows him to snatch you from the Green Goblin right as you’re about to pass out. He pulls you into his arms and immediately starts to descend back down to the park's grass. As he landed on the ground, he loosened his grip on you, allowing you to catch your breath as he hovered over you protectively.
“Are you alright?” he whispered, his expression one of concern despite his heroic actions.
You slowly nod your head, give yourself a moment to catch your breath.
Yet the Green Goblin didn’t lose, not yet. Not when the demon in him is aware that Spiderman is alive and just pulls a heroic moment and you, the disturber is safe on Spiderman’s hand. Without thinking twice, the furious creature once again wings its way to both Jake and you, he immediately grabs your waist so fast, it feels like a wind passed by.
“No!” Jake yelled as the Green Goblin snatched you away from him and flew off on his glider. As he watched the two of you disappear into the night sky, a wave of worry and fear washed over him. He knew he had to catch up to them quickly but the creature quickly acted and threw a pumpkin bomb towards Jake.
Jake dodged the pumpkin bomb just in time, but the force of the explosion knocked him off balance. He stumbled and fell to the ground, feeling incredibly dizzy and disoriented. He tried to get up, but the world was spinning and he couldn't get his bearings.
Behind him, he heard you yell out his name as Jay took you away, but he couldn't gather enough strength to fight back. All he could do was try to hold onto consciousness as the seconds ticked by. He knew he was running out of time and would have to do something fast before it was too late but he can’t do anything when his vision gets blurred and black in a matter of seconds.
–
The Green Goblin pushed you off from the glider as soon as both of you landed on his lab, his head felt like it would explode any second, and you stood by the desk lab, watching your boyfriend or other thing grunt in pain.
“J-Jay?”
You see the obvious green veins slowly disappear from his skin and his pupils turned to brown and his skin becoming normal, no more green and yellow patches on it.
“Babe?” you called him, your voice low– still shcoked by the creature that took control of him.
“Y/N…” he panted, his rough voice earlier is gone and it’s replaced by his soft voice.
“Jay, Oh my God” you make your way to him, helping him stand up and settle him down on the chair. You take a look for his pale face for a few second, just to make sure it is the real Jay before you pull him into a comfort hug
“What happened?” he asked, he is drained like a person who overworked themselves for 20 hours per day
“You don’t remember?”
Jay shook his head, he doesn't remember a thing. He lets you hug him for a moment while his eyes scan his lab.
“Wait–” Jay slowly pushes you away and walks towards his lab benches. It is so messy, too many books, paper works, lab’s essentials on the benches. He shut his eyes real tight, trying to recall what happened before he knocked out.
“Baby, I think you should rest…” you urged, honestly you have no idea how to tell him the real thing as he can't remember anything now. But for sure, tomorrow you will ask Jake for help.
“I made it!”
“Hm?”
“Baby, I successfully made the serum!” he exclaims, he turns to you and grabs your shoulder, shaking your body a little due to his excitement.
Seeing your puzzled look making Jay chuckle and kiss your forehead, finding your reaction cute.
“Look at me, there’s no patches left and the hideous green veins are gone! I am fine!” his beams
“Are you sure? We still need to see a doctor…”
“We’re gonna see them tomorrow! Damn, I can’t fucking wait to do all the things with you”
You slowly exhale your breath, Jay needs to know he isn't getting better but worse. There’s something inside him that he isn't aware of yet.
“Babe, you really don’t remember what happened tonight?”
“Yeah, I made the ser–”
“Not that! The part where you turns all green and riding a glider–”
“What are you talking about, Y/N?”
“You’re about to kill Spiderman tonight, and if it's wasn’t me–”
“You’re taking Spiderman’s side now?”
“Huh?”
Jay didn’t reply to you, he touched his head again and his face frowning. Your eyes immediately scan the lab, searching for any weapon if the creature decided to take full control of Jay’s body.
“Uh…” he groans, his fingers turns white on how hard he gripped on the lab benches
“Jay?” you called
“You take Spiderman’s side Y/N…. How dare you?” he gruffs, his eyes looking cold and his jaws tense.
“ I do not take anybody's side! But you’re about to kill someone!” you yelled, your voice come out shaky but goes unnoticed by him
“Oh, fuck it! It’s Spiderman, he deserves to die!” he screamed back
You gasped, this isnt Jay you know.
“There’s something inside you, Jay! He controls everything in you and I don't think you’re healed, the thing just uses you as a host!” you explained but Jay only smirks in response.
“Yeah, I remember, we had a deal… I lend my body for him and in return I will not rot like my damn dad did!”
“Jay…”
He takes a step forward until you can feel his hot breath over you, his palm wrapped around your neck but doesn't put any pressure on it, he leans in– his face is an inch closer to you and his lips lingers on your lips but he doesn't move it. You close your eyes, your body suddenly feels hotter than before and since he didn't move an inch you open your eyes back and see he is staring at your eyes deadly.
“I don’t like how you’re siding with Spiderman, you should let him finish his business. Spiderman should die!”
You didn't utter any words to him, you leaned in to kiss him but he backed away, not giving the things you wanted leave you alone in the lab.
–
The next morning, the both of you didnt talk to each other but Jay was still stuck by your side since you left the bed. Bathroom, kitchen, living room, just named it. He still lingers around you even though he did not say anything to you yet. And that’s the reason why he tags along with you on your way to Coffee Beans, to meet with others.
“Oh God, Jake!” you immediately pull Jake into a hug but Jay quickly grabs your shoulder, preventing you from hugging the brunette but you ignore his bitch attitude. Jake, who noticed Jay’s fierce eyes looking straight to him could only mutter sorry to his best friend, he did not want to pour oil on the flames.
“Hey, I’m sorry for letting you home alone last night–”
“Wait, alone?” Jay cuts him off
“Dude, look I’m really sorry but–”
“Cut the bullshit Jake! You fucking left her alone at the park?!” Jay snapped, he swiftly pushed you back and face to face with Jay.
All of the attention is on them, some of the customers already take out their phone to record.
“Winter, things are about to get messy isn’t it?” you asked the blonde girl which she replied with a nod.
“Look, I worried about Aunt May–”
“Oh, please! Just say that you want her to die right?! You failed to kill me and now you’re attacking her too?”
“Jay, you knows it’s not true”
“I know damn well it is the truth, Jake! You’re just selfish human being”
Realizing all the attention is one them, Jake’s ears turned slightly red
“Dude, come on…”
“What? You’re about to kill us and you want to discuss it privately?”
Jay let out a big sigh, he felt disgust by Jake ‘innocent’ face. How dare he play victim here? It is so obvious that got the intention to kill you and him.
“You know what” Jay said before he threw his fist to Jake and with his Spidey sense tingling, Jake noticed, out of the corner of his eye, that Jay’s arm had begun to move towards him.Without hesitation, he quickly side-stepped and grabbed Jay’s fist right before it hit him. Jay tried to pull his hand away but Jake, with his superhuman strength, was too strong. He looked at Jay and said calmly,
“You need to calm down, Jay. This is getting of control”
Jay struggled and tried to pull away again, but Jake wouldn't let go. Despite the heated argument, he still cared about Jay and didn't want to see him hurt. Jay let out a grunt of frustration, but he stopped struggling and listened to what Jake had to say. Meanwhile, adrenaline was pumping through Jake’s veins and his spider senses were in overdrive. He could feel the danger, but with
Jay’s hand firmly in his grasp, he felt safe.
Jay harshly pulls away from Jake’s and is about to leave the cafe but his step pauses for a moment as you didn’t follow him, standing beside Winter with frowns on your face. It’s not like you are betraying your own boyfriend right now, but he isn't in the right state of mind. With the creature inside him, you don’t feel safe around him.
Jay scoffs seeing you seems to make your mind up, he didn't say anything and left the cafe with disappointed feelings. He can’t believe people he loves turn their backs on him.
After the chaotic scene in the cafe, you tell Jake every single thing from A to Z and you also hand Jake the serum Jay created from his lab. You didn't know much about science but with the genius person next to you maybe he can figure something out.
“Follow me” Jake said and brings you to the lab that he always uses with Winter to complete their work.
As the two of you step in the lab, Jake provides you a lab coat for you to wear and he makes sure you’re sanitized well before touching any equipment in the lab.
“What are we doing here?”
“I think we can make the antidote for Jay, strong enough to let the creature die once I figure out what’s materials inside this thing” Jake stated which you only nod as a response.
The lab is filled with the hum of high-tech equipment. The room is bathed in the soft glow of computer screens and the harsh light of overhead fluorescents. Jake, with a serious expression on his face, is hunched over a microscope meanwhile you, on the other hand, are standing nearby, looking lost amidst the scientific equipment.
“Y/N, I need you to hand me the blue vial on the second shelf” he uttered, looking up from his microscope, his expression still focused, it’s not like the Jake you usually encounter, the one who is always smiling and jokes around.
You look at the shelf he mentioned, your eyes scanning over a bunch of vials and pick up the blue one that Jake asked you for.
“Here you go, Professor Jake” you joked
“Thanks” he chuckles and takes the vial from your hands, he carefully adds a drop of the liquid to the green solution resulting in a teal vial. Jake sighs in relief
“That should do it, This should neutralize the Green Goblin’s serum” he stated, looking at you who was already grinning from ear to ear and your eyes shining from excitement. You may not understand the science but you know how important this antidote is.
“But only for temporary”
Your smile faded a little
“What do you mean?”
“The antidote… it’s not permanent. It will only suppress the effects of the serum for a short time, we– I mean, I still need to create a permanent solution” Jake explained
You nod, the fact that Jake successfully makes one with a temporary solution already gives you hope.
“For now, you keep these vials to yourself first, if the goblin is about to take control, quickly inject him with this, okay?”
“I'll try…” you answer with a very unsure tone in your voice, it’s not an easy job for you.
–
The sun was high in the sky, casting shadows between the towering skyscrapers of New York City and it’s a good day for the Green Goblin to hunt his nemesis; Spiderman.
The Green Goblin, cackling maniacally, was darting between buildings on his glider, a trail of green smoke following him.
“Spiderman, come out and play!” he screams with rough voice
It took Green Goblin a minute to scream Spiderman’s name before he, with his web-slingers at the ready, was hot on the Goblin’s tail. The two of them ‘danced’ in the sky, a deadly ballet of power and agility.
“Give it up, Goblin!” Jake yelled, launching the sticky web at him but Goblin was fast to avoid the attack as if he already learned all the Spiderman’s move.
Their fight took them higher and higher, until they were level with the eleventh floor of a nearby building. The Green Goblin, grinning wickedly, suddenly veered towards the building, crashing through a window and into an office space. Jake followed, landing gracefully amidst the shattered glass.
Inside the office, employees screamed and ducked for cover as the two adversaries faced off. Jake, ever the protector, quickly webbed up the exits, ensuring no one would get caught in the crossfire.
“End of this, Goblin!” Jake declared, his eyes narrowing behind his mask. The Green Goblin just laughed, his eyes gleaming with madness.
“Oh, Spiderman,” he sneered, “The fun is just beginning.”
And with that, their battle continued, the eleventh floor of the building becoming their battleground.
“Everyone, please evacuate the building!” Jake yelled while he shot his web to the Green Goblin. In the middle of chaos, Jake tries to protect all the employees from the villain’s glider while avoiding the villain's attack.
While the guards and the polices are trying to get all the employees safe and sound, you on the other hand is running as hard as you can when you heard the villain is attacking again, you just finish class and was about to go to Jay’s before someone from your class pointed out that the Green Goblin is attacking again.
You sneakily enter the building as all the frontliners are too focused on the employees and citizens' safety, you take the stairs until the eleventh floor.
“Hey, attacking private property isn’t cool dude… How about we talked about this with coffee? Do you like coffee?” Jake asked, while kicking the Green Goblin’s glider, making him fall to the ground with a loud thud.
“You need to die!” he grunts
“Oh no no, you need to die not me” Jake utter while emphasizing the word ‘You’
The Green Goblin quickly gets up and attacks Jake with his blade, his move was so fast that Jake almost couldn’t catch up with him. And the next thing Jake knows, he is being thrown to the hard wall, the Green Goblin using his glider to limit his move. With his hideous patches green hand holding the sharpened blade, the Green Goblin swung his arms towards Jake’s face wanting to stab him using his blade but you burst through the door with heavy panting.
You swore under your breath, being a Spiderman’s unofficial sidekick is hard. You don’t even have a costume.
You ignore the feeling of your legs that start to shake and run towards the villain, with a syringe filled with the powerful teal liquid and precise aim– you inject the antidote directly into the Green Goblin’s neck.
“W-what are you doing here?” Jake asked as soon as the pressure of the gilder got low as if he didnt know the main purpose you are here.
“No time for explanation! I need to take this guy somewhere safe and you need to help me!”
“Wait, you know this guy?”
“I said I had no time for explanation! And please distract all of them, they can’t see him in human form” you pleaded, while swinging unconscious Jay’s arm to your neck.
“But hey, the antidote is working, you did it?”
“No, my genius friend made it”
Jake smiles underneath the smile, ah how he loves the honest compliment coming from you.
“He is indeed a genius” Jake muttered underneath his breath before helping you with Jay. Jake wrapped both of his arms to your and Jay’s waist and then he shot his web to the ceiling.
“We gotta keep this lowkey, no scream okay or else they’re gonna notice us” Jake warned
You nod your head, you tighten your arms that wrap around his waist and pursue your lips together. Not wasting any time, Jake jumps through the middle space of the stairs. You shut your eyes real tight due to the speedness, luckily the hero beside you landed the three of you very carefully before leading you to the emergency exits before take off to distract the citizens and the frontliners.
–
“Jay, thank God, you’re awake!” you exclaim, it’s been three hours since the chaos and you are afraid that he won’t awake since the antidote that Jake created did not test on any living things yet.
“Out” Jay weakly said, his eyes staring to the ceiling instead of you.
“Jay–”
“He said, you helped him again!” he yelled making you flinch, this time his deadly eyes stares right into you.
“I don’t want to leave, you’re not stable yet” your voice is shaky, suppressing yourself from crying in front of him.
“That day when you decided to side with Jake is over for us, Y/N! I don’t need people who turns their back on me”
“You’re about to murder people, Jay! I can’t let you do that when I know there’s something else that has been controlling you” you fight back, you hate that parasite for manipulating Jay. He knows Jay is desperate and willingly says yes to anything to get his old life back, he uses Jay’s body for a host to kills Spiderman.
“Baby, we can work together…” you holds Jay’s cold hand
“Jake created this antidote for you, it can neutralize the serum that you created, he’s been working on it and if it’s successful, then you will be able to cure and the creature inside you will be gone!” you try to persuade him, you could see his eyes soften for a slight moment before it turns fierce again.
“Just go, Y/N” he urged, he got up from the bed and pushed you out of his room and slammed it on your face.
“If you change your mind, me and Jake will be at his lab. We’re on the final step to finish your antidote, hopefully” you said before leaving the Osborn penthouse.
–
That night, Jake and you were working hard to finish an antidote for the Green Goblin. After weeks of trial and error, he had finally cracked the code and created the perfect serum that could stop the villainous goblin in its tracks. As the duo were wrapping up their work for the day, they heard a loud crash from outside the building. Startled, they looked out the window and spotted the Green Goblin hovering in the air in front of the building. Fearing for their safety, Jake knew they had to act quickly and get the antidote ready before it was too late.
But before Jake can even think of his plan, the Green Goblin crashes into the floor Jake and you are in and as if he got a dog’s nose, he glides straight to the lab and smirks when he captures both of you frozen on the scene.
“He was too weak, a word from his girlfriend and he wants to surrender” the raspy voice spat.
Jake and you immediately know who the creature is referring to.
“Why do people like you need to destroy everything I had planned from the start?” he asked, looking sharply at Jake then at you.
“Now, now… give me the antidote before I need to kill Spiderman” he said, he got off from the glider walking towards the two of you. Your breath hitched, usually Spiderman will come at the right time. Where is he?
“Mr Goblin… we still can talk..” Jake said, his hands grabbed on his backpack.
“No more talking! I am done with talking, now give me the antidote before I waste my time to kill the two of you!” he snarled
“Well, I guess we need to do a plan B” Jake said to you
You turned to him with a puzzled look, both of you didnt come up with any plan at all, what did he talk about?
“What plan B?” you half-whispered to him
“Plan B is, Y/N, run!” Jake yelled and grabbed the nearest chair to throw to the creature making him growl in pain.
He quickly takes his backpack and leaves the lab to change into his costume meanwhile you are running for your life until you find an empty classroom. You hide under the table and cup your mouth using both of your hands, you don’t know what Jake’s plan is since the antidote is on your hand nonetheless, you trust him.
On the other hand, the Green Goblin was furious. He couldn't believe he got tricked so easily by human beings, so he quickly left the lab and started searching for the two of you. His steps are slow but impactable, from inside the classroom you could clearly hear his footstepping the cold marble.
Creakkk…
The sound of the door being open makes your heartbeat faster to the point your breath becomes uneven due to cupping your mouth too tight, but you need to be safe, the Green Goblin can’t know you here until Jake comes to the rescue.
On the other side, Jake crouched down and made his way towards the door, his eyes locked on the Green Goblin. He silently crept up behind him, ready to swoop in as soon as the goblin sensing you hid under the table. Just as he was about to leap out and attack, however, he overheard something that made his blood run cold.
As Jake listened more closely, he heard the Green Goblin's voice, speaking quietly in his trademark raspy tone.
“I can sense you, Spiderman” he hissed,
“I know you're here somewhere. Come out now and face me like the hero you pretend to be.”
Jake’s heart dropped as he realized what had happened - the Green Goblin had seen straight through his plan and was waiting for Spiderman to come to the rescue. Suddenly, the villain began to charge towards the direction of your hiding place. Unable to leave his friend behind, Jake quickly jumped out and intercepted the Green Goblin.
With a burst of speed, Spider Man tackled the Green Goblin to the ground, preventing him from reaching you. The impact caused a loud crash as they tumbled across the floor together, but neither of them let up in their struggle. Jake quickly grabbed the Green Goblin by the neck and pinned him down, but the villain refused to give in. He wriggled and kicked, his sharp claws coming out and slicing at Jake’s costume. Jake gritted his teeth and did his best to hold on and keep the villain pinned down while trying to avoid his vicious attacks.
The battle raged on for what seemed like an eternity, but neither Jake nor the Green Goblin was willing to back down. They both fought for every inch of ground, refusing to let their opponent get the upper hand. Jake’s eyes were focused on keeping his grip on the villain's neck, while the Green Goblin was doing his best to wiggle and wriggle out of his grasp. With the antidote ready in one hand and a syringe in another, you watched from your hiding place, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Nevertheless, the Green Goblin seems stronger than before, he managed to break free from Jake’s grip. With his much energy, he threw Jake off the building and wasted no time to take you with him. He leapt onto his glider and flew off while laughing maniacally.
Jake grunts, he takes a deep breath to hold the pain after being thrown from the 4th floor. He curses under his breath seeing the creature successfully take you away. Ignoring the pain, he quickly swings to chase the two of you.
“Jay, let me go!” you screams
“No Jay anymore, he’s weak!” he spat and flew off towards an unfinished building. He landed on the unfinished floor that was filled with steel rods. The green eyes stare right into your soul making you shaking from tears.
“Give me those” he demand
You shook your head, lips quivering seeing the monster in front of you.
The Green Goblin grunts and wrapped his rough finger to your neck
“I’ll save my blade for Spiderman’s blood until then I have to kill you using my hands” he said and he tightened the pressure on your neck making you gasp for air. With his strength force, lift you up to the air, your legs wiggling for a release and your eyes looking straight to the villain's eyes; searching for Jay’s but to your dismay the monster did not lie when he said Jay is gone.
Your vision getting blurry, suddenly getting a flashback when the Green Goblin almost killed you at the park. You don’t even have strength to lift your hands and be sneaky to inject him with the antidote that Jake’s created.
For the last time, you try searching for Jay– hoping that he fights the demon that terrorized his body.
Your tears fall when he is nowhere to be seen.
Unnoticed by you, your hands that gripped on the antidote slowly loosening resulting in the antidote to fall to the ground.
“Gotcha!”
The Green Goblin growls seeing the person he hates– Spiderman successfully caught the antidote before it landed on the ground.
Jake makes his way to the top of the floor, which is where you and him are right now.
“Let her go” Jake said, his voice is serious
The Green Goblin smirks, using one hand that still grabs your neck he lets you hang by his hand for support, your feet don't touch the ground but the air instead.
“Very poor choice of words” and with that, the Green Goblin releases his hand that has been wrapped around your neck, sending you plummeting down towards the ground below
You can’t even have the energy to scream, at this point you accept the fate that you are losing for helping your own lover.
With lightning speed, Jake webbed up his web shooters, launched himself off the ground, and used his web to catch you and the Green Goblin, pulled you away from the edge of the building and pulled the Green Goblin off the building causing him to drop immediately to the ground. He managed to pull you to safety, just seconds before you would've hit the ground. As the duo caught their breath, Jake glared at the creature.
Jake puts you down and uses his strength and punches the Green Goblin numerous times to buy you some time to fill the syringe with the antidote and to make him slightly less powerful.
You tried your best to fill it and your shaky hands did not help the process, your heart still beat faster and your mind still hazy due to lack of oxygen but nonetheless you need to help Jay.
With a steely gaze, you injected the serum directly into the Green Goblin's neck, who let out a howl of pain as it took effect. The antidote worked almost instantly, and the Green Goblin slowly transformed back into his human form, Jay. A look of confusion and horror crossed his face as he looked at the two of you, having no memory of his villainous alter ego or the crimes he had committed.
“Y/N…” Jay panted, you quickly gave him a hug while crying, relieved that everything was over.
Underneath his mask, Jake is smiling. He was also relieved because he got to save his best friend with the antidote he created.
“Oh my God!” you let go of Jay and turn to the Spiderman who is standing right next to you.
“My friend, Jake!” you gasped, you literally forgot Jake is still in the building, maybe he is still searching for you.
“Spiderman, please look for Jake!”
“That Jake you searched in the park? Damn he need to take care of himself”
“Please! We can take care of ourselves here. Thank you so much!” you said
“Uh.. okay.. But make sure to take a taxi, this is criminal’s favorite spot” he warned
You nods your head and thanking him for the second time before he off to ‘search for Jake’
–
“Are you feeling okay?” you asked as soon as you entered Jay’s room.
He weakly nodded, after the night he told the goblin that he’s gonna surrender himself, the creature getting violence and taking full control of his body for that night, he can't even fight the creature because his power was too strong for him.
Luckily the antidote that Jake created saved him, it neutralized all the chemicals and radioactive in Jay's body. His skin didn't have any patches or green veins left, it feels like he is a normal person again.
“Thank you for not giving up on me” he said, his voice sounding strained.
You pull him into side hug and plant a kiss on his forehead
“I don’t wanna lose you as much as you don’t wanna lose me, Jay” you uttered.
“Uh.. should I leave?” the two of you flinched at the sudden voice and laughed as you saw Jake standing awkwardly at the door.
“Dude, come on in,” Jay exclaims.
The two best friends smile at each other before high five each other.
“Thank you, Jake and I’m sorry for every shits I’d done to you” Jay utters.
“Nah man, all good. That’s what best friend for” Jake beams.
While you and Jake are chatting, Jay smiles at himself, it’s been awhile since he felt a spark of joy inside of him. Since his father’s death he has been nothing but miserable. He is thankful he didn't end up like his father and for the two people in his life; you and Jake for not giving up on him.
It’s hard to believe that his wish to be together with you is not a wish anymore.

pairing: Hange Zoë x Reader
genre: smut
words: 5k+
notes: thigh riding, strap-on, light stalking, manipulation, overstimulation, college students, oral sex

Hange has been watching you since you transferred to their small university. Your intellect is unparalleled and overlooked — you would always sit in the front quiet and beautiful, hange would watch your glossy lips whisper the answer while the professor is explaining. They would watch you in physics class, the dining hall, and even in the dorm communal bathroom.
The first two weeks they spent learning your schedule so they could cross your path at least once a day. Not too close but not too far. They learned your name, that you major in biochemistry, and that you obtained a full scholarship to this university due to a project you did on structural biology. Everything Hange learns about you, intrigues them even more.
It wasn’t until they were arriving to class early that they spot you disappear through the door. Hange creeps towards the slightly open door to listen in on the conversation. “Professor! I really need an extension this time” your tone is shiny and exaggerated as you hands slam on the instructors desk as your glossy lips form into pout. Hanji could see your game but they just want to see if the instructor could see it too.
Unfortunately, the instructor wasn’t hiding his attraction towards you, he is practically eye-fucking you and keep his attention on your low-cut top. “W-well you are my best student but if you’re having issues, I recommend you talk to your peers! Zoe also seems to be taking a while on this assignment, Maybe you two can help each other out?” He says all of this without looking in your eyes but you didn’t care. The only thing you were concerned with is getting that extension.
“Sooo can I turn it in next Monday?” He nods his head at your question and you thank him gleefully finding a seat directly in front of him to give him a full view of your exposed chest. Hange watches this whole ordeal not realizing the line of students waiting behind them. They open the door letting everyone in praying that no one sits next to you. Once the last person is in, Hanji eyes the open seat next to you quickly passing behind other students mumbling apologies. They look your way slightly and smile and you flash one back at them, Hange swears they could die in this moment and be happy with your sweet smile engrained in their memory. The one thing about you is that you never paid attention to those in your class. You were only concerned with your education and getting out of this small town.
However, this lesson is rather lackluster and you already reviewed the material two weeks ago. The instructor is no longer focused on your seduction so you were officially bored. You look around at your peers and turn to the brown haired individual next to you. There is nothing in particular that makes them stand out but you couldn’t help but notice how close they were to you. Your chair legs are entangled in each other and your legs is touching theirs.
If you couldn’t tease the professor you might as well entertain the stranger with no sense of personal space. Whispering to them “you’re awfully clingy” Hanji looks behind, beside, and even next to you just to make sure you were acknowledging them. You notice the blush spread across their face as they stutter on their words. Hanji couldn’t handle the proximity even if they purposefully positioned their chair close. “I-I can slide over if you want- Of course I’ll scoot over.” You grab one of the closest legs holding their chair in place before they attempt to move away.
“It’s okay. I don’t mind” You say this smooth and low looking at Hange under your long lashes. This sight alone excites them, you were the vision of perfection. You lovely brown skin paired with with your dark aesthetic intrigues and excites them. They lean in to whisper in your ear “I’m Hange but you can call me Zoe if you want..” you watch them side eye the professor who is still facing the board. “I can help you with anything you need like assignments or if you’re bored and want to hang out.” you giggle at the way their voice and leg shake when doing this action.
Hange is nervous and can’t conceal it but convinced themself that they said everything smooth and sultry. “Aaah so you’re the person professor was talking about. I actually could use your help. Are you free this week?” You flash your pearly whites at them putting your hands together to mock a praying motion, Hange shakes their head vigorously up and down.
Hange laughs at your notion and answers with an over-enthusiastic ‘yes’ which rewards a sequel of excitement from you. They didn’t care about the the amount of people grumbling and smacking their teeth at the both of you for disrupting the lecture. So many thoughts about you flick through their subconscious: ‘God they smell so good’ ‘they’re prettier up close’ ‘look how plump their lips are..god what I wouldn’t do-‘ the sound of you ripping a piece of paper snaps Hange out of their trance. They watches as you write a series of numbers on the piece of paper and slid it over to them once you’re done. They look at the series of numbers and practically jumps out their skin when they see your name and written below your number and name is a ‘call me <3’ message.
The rest of the lecture you would rub your leg against Hange and whether it be on purpose or accident they were loving it.
Hange is a mess once their out of class, you made them so nervous their palms were sweaty and their heart is still thumping after you’re gone. Throughout the day Hange kept checking their phone, every chance they got hoping, waiting, for you to text or call them. “Earth to Zoe?” They look up from their device and notice their friends gathering around the dining hall table. “We’ve been trying to get your attention forever, what’s got your attention?” Hanji obsession with you is nothing new but it has been a growing issue among their friends. “Uhh I got their number and I’m just waiting for them to text me back.” Levi is dumbstruck and Erwin is loudly congratulating their friend shooting off a string of questions.
Per usual, Levi being the voice of reason among the three of them “ Remind me why you like them again? As far as I’m concerned they have yet to even acknowledge you exist.” Hanji hates how perceptive and right the young man could be. “They’re really smart..sweet, funny. I feel like we’ll get along well. Answer this, why do you hate them so much?” Levi eyebrows furrow his brows at this question sighing he says “What I said cal out wrong..I just don’t want you getting in trouble. you know what people say about them.”
Hange sucks their teeth feeling frustration rise in them. They knew that Levi didn’t like you but it’s because he hasn’t had a chance to see what they see. He only knows what he hears about you. “They don’t actually do all the thing people say they do. It’s a small town, rumors spread.” Reiner looks between his two friends and notice the uncomfortable tension rising. “Alright!” Erwin exclaims clapping his hands together loudly “Hange, what Levi means to say is to be careful and we both care about you very much and want you to be safe.” He says this in a disgustingly cutesy tone that Levis scoffs at. He continues to eat his lunch in silence while Erwin probes Hange about the interaction.
They were the last to leave to lunch table, between Levis attitude and Erwins persistence the young person is more excited to go back to their dorm and sleep. However, a series of dings from their phone has them fumbling to take it out their pocket dropping it on the floor. Several curses fall out their mouth as they pick up their device and unlocking it. Their heart skips a beat when they read the array of text you sent.
Reader
3:30pm | If you want to get together today around five that would be great!
3:30pm | Oh I’m so rude, hey! I should’ve said that first.
3:31pm | even if you don’t want to get together today that’s also fine!
3:31pm | I should’ve sent that all in one text I’m so sorry
Hange didn’t waste any time with responding to you , telling you it’s okay for you to text them like that and they would love to meet you at five. You respond immediately telling them you’d be in the back of the library. The tiredness that was previously consuming them seems to disappear at the chance of being near you again. Instead on focusing on the lecture Hanges mind is overcome with thoughts of you. Specifically, what you two could possibly study for? You two were the top two students at this university and practically aced everything that came your way. So why had you asked Hange to help you? All of those thoughts disappeared when they arrived to class, setting their items down to pick up a lab coat and safety goggles.
For the next hour and thirty minutes the love struck Hange disappears as they focus on cadaver assigned to them. They don’t even realize their running late to meet you until their professor had turned off the light in the hall which is a usual interaction whenever the absent minded individual is engrossed with their work. Quickly putting up all their materials and storing the body again, Hange makes sure everything is pristine once more before grabbing their phone. The time reads 6:30 and under that is a long stream of text from you and Erwin. They don’t even read your texts and decide to call you. The phone rings for a second before the automated messaging machine starts recite the computerized script.
‘How did I mess it up before it even started’ exiting the class speed walking to the library, they push past the heavy glass doors fingers tapping away on their phone feverishly:
Hange
6:38 pm | Hey! I’m so so sorry! I was in class and I lost track of time. Hopefully you’re still there
It takes approximately 10 minutes to get to the library from the science building. Maybe they should shop you anything text?
Hange
6:40pm | Hey, sorry. Me again! I’m on the way from the science building so it’ll take me 10 minutes. I also called but it went straight to voicemail.
Both texts are read by you at 6:45 pm and you don’t text them back until they’re behind you in the library shooting off apologies and trying to catch their breath. “Uhm. Did you run here?” a puzzled look falls on your face taking note of how Hange white button up is messily untucked from their slacks and their brown hair sticking to the sides their face with sweat. They breath in sharply, ripping the chair beside you from under the table. They take a seat beside you, legs spread in your direction, slowly nodding their head at your statement.
“I’m so sorry! I got caught up in anatomy and did I say I was sorry? I was experimenting with reproductive cloning on a human which I know is unethical and I’ve heard the lecture but I think it’ll be beneficial in the future! I would clone you! Not in a creepy way! Just to-“ Hange didn’t even realize they were rambling until they hear you roar with laughter “God you should see yourself! It’s really no big deal, it’s hot how committed you are and I would want you to clone me.” You hand rest on their leg which only increases the blush already present across their face.
“I would love to hear more about it later but I really have to get going.” a sharp pain pierces their chest..and it’s definitely not because of the running. ‘Are you upset that they were late or do you really have something to do’ the silence from the individual beside you made the situation awkward and that’s the last thing you want. You gather your items and stuff them in your tote — sliding your chair back you place your hand on Hange inner thigh giving them a reassuring smile before planting a small peck on their sweaty cheek. The feeling of your lips touching their cheek makes them go into shock. You flash a small smile at them before getting up and disappearing from their sight.
Hange sighs and wipes the sweat dripping down the forehead. ‘I’m never washing my cheek’ they thought to themselves before getting up and exiting the library and heading towards their dorm. They’re unexpectedly greeted by Erwin and Levi sitting on their floor oddly close drinking beers. Beers from Hanges stash might they add.. “Why are you guys in here and how did you even get in here?” they jump away from each other taking a drink from their beers.
Erwin clears his throat “We want-“ Levi is quick to correct “ERWIN wants to know how your little study session went with the cheater” Hange is quick to snatch the beer from him and furrow their brows. “First, how many of these have you two had? Second, they’re not a cheater. I’ve never even seen them talk to anyone so how could they possibly be cheating? Not to mention they’re top of our class” Erwin finishes his bottle standing up and gripping their friend shoulders. “Don’t listen to him. He’s just mad about his new roommate being a slob, how did it go?”
Hange could hear the young man grumble about the various complaints he’s made because of how filthy he is. “W- I came late and they had to leave..but I did say I would clone them and they said I could!” the grip around their shoulders disappears as their friend gives them a reassuring smile and nod. “Well that’s definitely something..there’s always another time?” Hange knew exactly when they would ask you. Around two-twenty in the morning you go to the communal and at exactly two-nineteen they were coming out of the stall to wash their hands.
A sleepy you in a silk bonnet and shorts pajama set shuffles into the bathroom right on time. They rip a piece of paper towel loudly snapping your attention in their direction. “Oh my!! Zoe! We live in the same dorm?! Since when?” Hange finds it cute that you never noticed them in the bathroom with you. They like that you’re oblivious to their pursuit. Feigning sleepiness they respond “I’ve been here since the fall, yeah I don’t know how we never noticed each other”.
Seeing them put together is one thing but at night is different. They’re standing in front of you with their hair down in an oversized white teeshirt , long blue pajama pants, and dinosaur slippers? You giggle at their choice of footwear “I like you slippers. Very cute.” You smile at them not caring about them slowly closing the gap between you two. They reach for your waist pulling you closer and you immediately laugh pushing them away rushing to a stall.
“Keep it in your pants Zoe now leave so I can pee.” Hange laughs at you leaving the bathroom with a final statement “Have a night darling”.
Now that you are aware of their presence you can’t help but search for them during dorm activities, meetings, and even at two-twenty in the morning when you have to pee. Hange knew better than to keep the same routine they had with you before. However, they made sure to keep you on your toes deciding to no long appear at night anymore. You just weren’t ready for that yet.
For the next two days Hange didn’t hear from you and they aren’t second to you for no reason. They preferred to not have to deal with the responsibility and speech that comes with being valedictorian. Wanting to uphold their salutatorian title for the next two days they were nose deep in school work and projects. The third day you two have class together and they made sure sit in the exact same seat as last time. A gaggle of students stagger in taking their seats eyeing hange satchel is taking the seat to their left.
They didn’t care about the amount of nasty stares they were getting. This seat is for you.
You didn’t show for the first part of lecture and as time went on it didn’t look like you were showing up for the second part either. Hange waited patiently the whole hour and forty-five minute lecture for you to show but you never did. The first thing they did when class is over is text you. Not without thinking of the obvious desperation they would give off but what if something actually is wrong? ‘Something simple will do’
Hange
12:00PM | Hey! Sorry for texting you so early but you didn’t show up for class and I just wanted to make sure everything is okay?
Hange waited a while just to see that little grey bubble pop up and when it did their heart flutters. ‘Clearly they just overslept or something’ they wait and wait for the message to come through only to see the chat bubble disappear. For once, the young individual is irritated with you. How dare you read their message and not respond? What could be so important that you can’t shoot them a text?
Stepping outside of their lecture hall their met with the sight of you. Sitting about 10 feet away from there, adorned in black and pink from head to toe. The sight of you, standing there in a mini skirt almost makes Hanjis nose bleed. Your hair is braided today but instead of your usual you seem to have added a pink braided skunk strip. This makes them want to pounce on you even more. The sound of their phone ding breaks their concentration unlocking their phone they could see your one word response
Reader
12:05PM | Outside!
Hange laughs at the text and calls your name out to get your attention. You whip your head around flashing them a heart stopping smile, standing up meeting them halfway. “Hey! I was trying to make it to class but I was up late doing my hair. Are you free? I was wondering if we could get an afternoon session in” They just shook their head eagerly at your question and before they knew it you were grabbing their hand and dragging them towards your shared dorm building.
During the walk your hands remained intertwined as the two of you swap information and stories about one another. The more you two talk the closer you two got and the closer you two became, the tension kept rising. Hange could feel their palms sweating as the slew of thoughts consume their mind. ‘Are we going to their room?’ ‘Will we go to mine?’ ‘Are we just going to study?’ ‘God they smell so good’ ‘ they’re so pretty’
Scanning your ID at the door and walking past the front counter you could hear Erwin attempt to quietly congratulate hange as you two disappeared behind the double doors to your hall. You suddenly stop at the beginning of the hall and look at hange, “So your room or mine?” the plan is set and you’re laying the bait. “We can go to mine, my roommate practically lives in her girlfriends room.” You laugh at their statement “wait who’s your roommate?” Hange walks you down the hall “Ymir but you probably haven’t met her yet. She’s always traveling with the lacrosse team and when she is here, again, she’s in her girlfriend Krista room” you two finally reach the end of the hall where they pull their ID without letting go of you hand to unlock the door.
“Please don’t be freaked out when we get in” they say pushing the door open letting you in first. “Why would I fre-“ stepping into hange’s room is like stepping into a morgue. There’s a shelf across you adorned with jars filled with mystery parts, a skeleton next to their desk that has plastic eyeballs glued in it, and multiple tapestry that either display different female anatomy. “Oh..this is nicee?” Hange burst out in a fit of laughter “You don’t have to lie! Trust me.” They come up behind you placing a hand on the small of your back to lead you to the jars.
“It’s a prosthetic in gelatin, I’m not a manic. Just a person in enthralled with human anatomy.” The tension between you two is suffocating but you have to stay focused. “I forgot my stuff, can I send you my paper and we do it on your computer?” Hange didn’t even think about asking you to go back to your room to get your things because they want to have you in their space as long as they can. Pulling out their desk chair sitting down they open their computer“Of course, let me give you my email” during this process their eyes were trained on you so you decide to give them what they want.
I can just type mine in for you and without warning you sit in their lap. Hange is baffled by your boldness but the feeling of your plush ass on them makes the shock go away. “Um- I can do it for you-, you don’t have to” You shift around on their lap causing your skirt to rise up and expose your thong. “Don’t worry, we’ll get it done faster this way” you pull down your skirt but continue to slightly shuffle in the hanjis lap. The heat between you two is intensifying gradually feeling their slender fingers trail up both your thighs slowly eventually finding their place on your hips. Moving you to their right slightly puts you on their thigh. A low voice emanates from behind you “since you want to squirm so much, use my thigh to get off”
A spark goes through your body as your start to grind slowly on their lap. Their hands remain on your lap assisting your hip movement even adding their own tempo to tease you. The moment you take your hands off the keyboard the grip on their hips tighten holding you in place. “You need to do you work, I don’t want to be a distraction” you start to whine and try to move your hips “if I do my work will you keep going?” Hange is mesmerized at the way you’re acting, they usually see you in a quiet state but lately you’ve been downright filthy and they were loving it.
“Yeah beautiful, I’ll keep going”
So that’s exactly what you did — sending your paper to their email downloading it and starting to type it out and make your edits. Once you become engrossed in your work is when hanji starts to move your hips. The grip that held you in place is now knead at them slowly. Everything they were doing is pure bliss. You can feel the throbbing between your thighs making it harder for you to concentrate. You desperately whisper out their name accidentally messing up your edit. They lift their thigh up harshly making you hole throb in response and a sweet moan to escape your plump lips. “Valedictorian shouldn’t be messing up their edits.” You sneer at their statement which makes hange snap their thigh up again.
“Don’t get an attitude with me, you were the one grinding on my lap. This is what you wanted right?” You never imagined for them to be so harsh but it is making you want to fuck them even more. “Hange you’re being meannn” you sound winded and your legs are shaking as hange picks up speed and starts bouncing their leg. Your moans start to become rhythmic as you try to quicken your release. Hanji didn’t mind, they like seeing you desperate and sloppy because of them. Conservatism has long left your body and your skirt is on your hips and your top is below your chest. Hange has been bouncing you on their thigh commanding you to keep going as the lick two fingers on each hand grabbing your nipples with their saliva covered fingers.
The slimy sensation perks your nipples allowing hanji to massage and tease your puffy brown nipples as your climax edges closer. A string of curses and repetition of Hanjis name signals them to pull your nipples releasing the tension between your supple thighs. Your legs are shaking beneath you prompting the unholy grip on the mahogany desk in front of you. Hange laughs at your current state “can’t handle it?” Although they are extremely cute you want to crush their cockiness. “Please! you aren’t the first to make me cum, get over yourself”
This made their blood boil. “Fine, let’s try something else” they grab you by your arm leading you to their bed. “Get up there, take your thong off and lay on the edge.” You don’t know why but you obey every command and wait as they move their desk chair to the edge of the bed. “Put your legs over my shoulders babe”your movements were slow but confident, you knew what you wanted but you nervous of the outcome. Now here you were, spread in front of Hange Zoë waiting for them to finish inspecting you in between your thighs. Embarrassment is increasing every passing minute they continue to stare and not say anything. “I can leave, if you’re just going to judge”
A puzzled look spreads across their face, “darling, I was merely appreciating you but since you’re so impatient” you can feel their tongue stride along your throbbing heat the sensation made the wait worth it. The feeling of their mouth devouring you reminds you of a demon trying to take someone’s soul. “Hange~ slow down, please” they only hummed in response swirling their tongue around your aching arousal earning a whiny moan from you. Their pace is patterned — slow then they go deep, picking up the pace before sloppily sucking to the top of your pulsating mound. The air is thick, your braids are sticking to your body, and you can feel your release coming soon.
Hange is abusing your flesh at a relentless pace the tightness below finally snaps ruining the edge of Hange’s sheets and the floor below. They life their head up greeting you with a overzealous grin. “I bet not everyone makes you do this” a tired laugh escapes your lips “For someone who can’t ask me on a date you have a lot of mouth”. Their face becomes red instantly resulting in them scooting the chair away from you and tuning around. “Let’s try something else, think you’re up for it?” Your silence is deafening and Hange knew this is the part where you would leave after getting head. “If it’s with you, I’m up for anything.”
Opening their desk drawer they pull out a medium sized velvet box with a devilish smirk. They turn around and reveal a dildo. “You ever been strapped before?” Hange insist on trying doggy for your first time and promises “to use an adequate amount of lube even though you have been prepared” you roll eyes when they add the last part but they were extremely gentle and sweet throughout the whole process. The feeling of the rubber tip at your entrance snaps you from your trance, hanji teases your slick entrance slightly with one hand on your hip while one slides the head in slowly and working the rest in with it. “Are you okay love?” You moan in response as the shaft slides in slowly jerking back in response.
“Go faster Hanji” Your breathy moan commanding them provokes urgency within Hange. You feel their hand grab a handful of your braids pulling you back forcing an arch. “Don’t forget you asked for it babe” Hange hips start to thrust at lighting speed using your hair as leverage to angle their body to hit your sweet spot. “God! You’re so fucking beautiful like this. I’ve wanted you for so long!” Hange kept spewing different confessions while mercilessly pound into you. “I’ve known about us living near eachother since you moved in! I want-no. NEED to have you”
“HANGE!! Stop tal-king” your voice cracks saying this and hanji see your body go limp as you release on the bed. You didn’t have a chance to process what the young person had said but when you did you were up and putting you clothes on. “He- Wait, Where are you going?” “I have mountains worth of homework to do, you didn’t expect me to have sex with you all day?” You laugh at the thought and take the time to decide whether you were going to put your fishnets back. The lack of underwear makes it difficult — you didn’t even hear hanji shuffle out of bed over to you wrapping their arms around you, moving your hair to the side they burying their head in the crook of you neck and say “If I do your homework..will you stay with me today”
A sly grin spread across your face and disappears as you turn around to face them. “That’s too much! I couldn’t expect you to do that” their eyes light up at the chance of you saying yes. “It would be my pleasure!” you didn’t think it would be this easy to get the salutatorian to do your homework but if all you had to do is have bomb sex who were you to block a blessing?
“Thank you Hange” you say sweetly placing a kiss on their sweaty cheek.

˚⟡. ˚⟡. ˚⟡.
College was always something you looked forward to when it came to the amount of stories you heard from your family or even friends who were slightly older than you. The amount of parties you would be going to, drinking, smoking, everything was included in this package that was labelled college.
It wasn’t true in the slightest.
You found that out as fast as possible, while you were out partying with Jean and Sasha, drinking as much as your body could take so you could get the same experience that everyone bragged about. The constant texts you would get from them begging you to skip your lectures which you did the majority of the time.
It never made a difference. You still attended the labs with perfect attendance, the lectures were just too exhausting to sit through, you’d rather be smoking or hanging out with your friends when the notes and material was online.
It didn’t until your third year.
With the stupidest lab and the stupidest TA.
Hange Zoe was assigned as your primary teacher’s assistant for your Biochemistry lab and sometimes the lecture, the same lecture you would skip to enjoy yourself a little more.
You both couldn’t stand each other.
They were the pure definition of looks are deceiving.
And from the first day, you both were at each other’s throats. Every lab was an argument, every lab resulted in some email complaining just to be denied your claims, every lab resulted in an unfair grade that you always contested and it eventually figured itself out.
You felt like they did it to get a rise out of you at this point.
They were the worst person in the world for you. The very person that made you question your major multiple times because of how harsh they were against you when it came to them being in charge of your lab.
“What the fuck is this, Hange?!” You screamed at them while slamming the very paper that they put a red zero on the front of it, on their desk while they were grading others. They didn’t have a reaction to it, they just stared up at you like you were stupid or something.
They set their pen down and let out a sigh of annoyance while they peered over at the paper, you could’ve sworn that for one minute, a small smile appeared on their face before they wiped it away completely turning their attention back to you.
“Do you need help reading the grade or something? Maybe need it a little bigger?” Hange snatched your paper up, opening the drawer in their desk to pull out a thick red marker to put the biggest zero on the front page, holding it up to point at the very grade that angered you. “It says a zero, sweetheart.”
Their pet-names were so mocking.
They threw the paper back on their desk in front of you while you stared down at them in disbelief while they broke the gaze between you two to continue grading the papers in front of them, their own attempt to ignore your outburst.
“I know what it says, unless you give me some sort of explanation why it is that way I’m not leaving. I did everything you whined at me about.” The experiment itself was annoying and useless since it was just a simple case study, the analysis of carbohydrates which explaining it bored you enough.
They didn’t respond. They ignored you like they always did.
“What kind of TA are you? You can’t even grade lab reports correctly.” Just when they were about to pick up their pen to continue writing grades and explanations on the papers which were lacking on your they paused and stared up at you with a blank reaction.
One push of their glasses and they snatched the paper back up without a single word back or any argument.
You had some hope.
“Go.” They blankly said, setting your paper back in their stacks of papers.
You should’ve questioned them more.
˚⟡. ˚⟡. ˚⟡.
The pettiest teacher’s assistant you could have ever encountered ruined your life in an instant.
You were officially on academic probation.
Your eyes constantly scanning the email over and over again to make sure this wasn’t an illusion. You were so upset, so angry that you could hardly feel anything at the moment of reading it. To see the Dean’s name and attached was your midterm grades to express concern, all you could feel was your heart sinking and the fingers on your keyboard halting for a second.
“I’m going to fucking kill them.” You could feel yourself physically shaking at the sight of the email of your nightmares, the words were bolded in a red font and even worse, when you saw exactly what class caused the sudden surprise made your blood boil.
The Biochemistry Lab.
“How did you even manage that?”
Armin asked in a tone of disbelief while were trying to contain yourself from slamming your laptop and running over to the very lab you knew their office was in. He peered over your shoulder and you could tell he was rereading it over and over again like you were.
“How come you and Hange are always at each other’s throats when it comes to this lab?”
Great fucking question.
But he wasn’t helping, you could feel your hands start to shake more until you gave into the feeling and slammed your laptop shut, abruptly dragging your chair back and grabbing the remaining amount of your stuff to start racing over towards the lab. You couldn’t even think about explaining to anyone how you were feeling at the moment.
You were beyond frustrated with them and it got to the point where it felt purposeful. The closer you got the lab, the more the anger started to grow and all you wanted to do was wipe their stupid smile they always had on their face and somehow destroy the ego they always seemed to have around you.
The door was right in front of you, you didn’t waste any time to grab the doorknob. The door creaked loudly as a result catching their attention but also the attention of the two students standing right in front of them with papers in their hands.
The two students in front of them were thankfully your friends, Jean and Connie. But when they saw you burst into the room with your stuff practically falling out of your hands, they gave a look of concern before looking back over at Hange who also had an annoyed look on their face from your entrance.
“Great, the trio is complete now. Y/N, I don’t have time for your concerns. Come back later, I am helping other students right now.” They held their hand up to wave you off while they were writing on the papers you were assuming were Jean and Connie’s. But you didn’t want to get sent off that easily and started walking towards their desk.
“Hey Y/N, maybe-“
Connie started but Jean quickly elbowed his arm to get him to stop him from stopping your outrage.
“You fucking failed me? What is going on in your mind that you think that was okay? An email before you decided to submit the grades would’ve been much appreciated.”
You peered down at what they were writing, it was the exact same lab that you got a zero on and when Hange circled the numbers one hundred in red and when you saw it was Connie and Jean’s name, the same people you worked with on the same experiment, you wanted to blow up.
They set their pen down, reaching up towards their face to pull off their glasses to start rubbing the bridge of their nose to show their annoyance. They slid their glasses back on and stared up at you with disbelief and annoyance all in one.
“Do you ever stop complaining?” They spat towards you. You could see and feel Jean and Connie shift a little from the sudden argument forming between you.
“Not when my TA is purposely giving me horrible grades for no reason with no explanation on either of my reports.” You spat back, getting closer to their desk to look down at them with pure disgust.
They looked up at you for a second, studying your reaction and the way your eyebrows furrowed in annoyance before the same smile you hated the most started to form on their face. A small laugh of disbelief escaped their lips before they spoke again.
“No explanations? Maybe if you would come to the lectures then you would know what is expected of this lab work.”
And there it was, the reason that they were probably purposely failing you or being strict on your work no matter if it was the same as your partners or not.
“This is what this is about? Me not going to the lectures where you bore me to death?”
You watched their eyebrows furrow, a small laugh if disbelief slipping out of their lips They pushed their chair back and slowly started to make their way out of the chair, setting both of their hands on too of their desk as they leaned over to respond to your sourness with something equivalent.
“Or maybe, you aren’t as smart as you think you are, sweetheart.”
You were baffled on what they were saying but how close they got to your face enough for you to move back slightly. Just them being this close caused you to get a hint of their cologne along with the cigarettes they probably smoked before hand.
And you didn’t mind it.
“You are unbelievable and a complete asshole, Hange.”
You turned your head to get the reactions of your friends but when you didn’t see them and heard the door shut behind you, you felt helpless. You felt crazy when it came to being in the presence of this egotistical asshole.
“What? Can’t form your own opinion without your party friends?” They let out another small laugh.
Hange started to move away from your proximity to gather the papers they had already sitting on their desk, you watched them pull one out which had the signature zero they drew on the front just to piss you off more you assumed.
“Leave.” They tossed the paper towards you direction causing it to fall on the floor in front of you.
“Fuck you, do you get off on this or something?”
“And if I do?”
You took a step back to start putting you laptop in your bag to gather yourself somehow while trying to thing of every email you could write to get Hange fired and even better, away from you.
“A little advice, learn how to shut your pretty mouth. Maybe your looks would shine that way.”
“Excuse me?” You scoffed
One thing you hated the most was there was nothing negative you could say about their looks, their attitude ruined it but they were an attractive person. Even though their nicknames were mocking and they way they would subtly call you pretty, it did kind of get to you because of how attractive they were.
So the only resort you had when they called you pretty for the last time was to point it out.
“Is that what this is? You find me attractive and rather than admitting it you go out of your way to torture me in this lab?”
For once, you saw Hange panic and turn their face away from your view as they started to gather the remaining amount of their stuff to try to leave.
“Don’t flatter yourself.”
Once they took a step away from their desk to walk around it and past you, you grabbed their arm which caused them to look down at you like you were crazy.
“Then say it. Say I’m not attractive.”
They paused, setting their stuff down on one of the lab tables next to them. The first thing they did was grab ahold of the hand that was on their arm to pull it off of them, the second thing was they leaned down to get slightly close to your face while the grip on your hand tightened.
You thought you would be disgusted, repulsed by the interaction. But when you caught yourself looking down at their lips when they spoke, you were fucked.
“You are attractive, you ruin it with your attitude.”
It felt like you both were in this position for the longest time, you could feel their grip start to loosen on your hand and all you could do was analyze their face, once you caught their eyes flickering between your lips and your gaze.
It was obvious.
“What are you trying to do?” You asked in a low tone while keeping an eye on where their eyes were going, you wanted to see if they wanted this too.
“I should ask you the same thing, Y/N.”
They said your name with no mocking tone.
You didn’t know what you wanted to do but when you kept looking at their lips you couldn’t wipe away the thought of kissing them. But you tried to get your mind to think about leaving, leaving and just forgetting about the lab. Dropping the class, anything.
When they finally released your hand fully from their grip, you had your chance to leave. But you were stuck like your legs weren’t going to allow you to leave, maybe you wanted to get one last word in.
“Fuck you, Hange.”
They slowly started to move themselves so that they were in front of you. You didn’t allow yourself to lose their gaze for a second until they started to get closer than they have been before, their nose was practically brushing against yours and you could feel their hand start to slowly creep up against your waist.
“Fuck you too, Y/N.”
The moment their lips hit yours, it was filled with a certain need and desperation. Your hands had a mind of their own when they started becoming tangled in the back of their hair while the other rested on the collar of their lab coat to keep them close just in case they regretted starting it.
You could feel their smile forming against your lips while their hands trailed over towards your waist, hooking one of their fingers onto your belt loop to tug you close enough so that there was no space between the two of you.
You were melting in their touch, in the feeling of their soft and desperate lips.
A small sound behind you caused you to break away from the kiss for a second but Hange didn’t have the same worry as you as their kisses continued next to your lips before starting to trail down your neck which caused you shiver at the feeling of their lips.
Once you saw two shadows outside of the door facing the other way, you realized that Connie and Jean were waiting for you to come out.
“Hange..”
You tried to get their attention and tried to keep yourself aware of what and who was outside but when they continue kissing around certain parts of you neck, it felt like you becoming drunk with desire. You could feel them trying to push you in a certain direction so you slowly started to step back.
The kisses, the sucking, there were even some bites against your neck and it all felt too good.
With one sudden movement, Hange grabbed under your thighs to lift you up and set you up on one of the lab tables which allowed you to snap out of the feeling earlier and bring your attention back over towards the door.
“They are still here.” You tried to tell them.
But the feeling was back as soon as their lips landed on yours, the series of desperate kisses continuing as the feeling of their hands on your thighs slowly started to travel towards your shirt. Button after button, the more your chest started to pour out.
They broke away from the kiss for a second, they didn’t even bother to look you in the eye. Instead their attention was more on the lace bra you decided to wear as they finished unbuttoning your shirt completely.
“You think that’s going to stop me? They can watch for all I care.”
Their tone was different.
You allowed one of your hands to trail over towards their face as you leaned in this time for the kiss that you were already craving not even a minute after they just kissed you.
You didn’t care at this point.
You live once.
The heated kiss continued, the longer it was the more desperate and hungry it was. Hange’s hands were immediately coming down to start unbuttoning your pants in the sloppiest way possible while you were bringing both of your hands down to slid their lab coat off of their shoulders.
It was messy, they pulled their hands away quickly to allow the coat slide off their arms while you lifted yourself up to allow your pants to fall down below you. The two of you were smiling in between the kiss that never broke, the sound of your heavy breathing filling the area between you.
Their rough hands hit your bare thigh and you couldn’t help but let out a satisfied moan against their lips. You let one of your hands escape form their body and immediately latched onto the end of the lab table to keep yourself stable as the melting feeling started to come back the higher Hange’s hand go towards your inner thigh.
Two of their fingers started to trace small shapes along your inner thigh to try to get you to open and you did with no complaint. You wanted this more than anything, you needed this for yourself.
After the kiss that felt like forever finally broke, your heavy breaths escaped your mouth while Hange started to press their lips against the skin on your neck again. But instead of what they did earlier, the kisses started to get lower and lower.
“Please, hurry..” You wanted them now, for the sake of not getting caught but also how impatient you were becoming from the amount of foreplay that has been going on.
Once you said those words, the feeling of their fingers trailing against your inner thigh suddenly disappeared which caused you to look down at them in confusion before the feeling switched over towards the very heat that has been growing ever since this whole interaction started.
You could feel a chill come up on your spine when the very two fingers started moving in the very spot that you have been craving someone to find for so long. You couldn’t hold in your breathy moans and even worse, you could feel the grip you once had on the table start to loosen enough that you abruptly moved it behind you for support.
The sounds you made caused Hange’s smile to grow and you could tell by feelings against your chest and the very spots they were kissing down towards the very area where their fingers were. Once their lips were absent from your chest and your abdomen, it caused you to look down at them as they started to take off their glasses.
“What are you doing?” You struggled to say in between the motions.
One push.
And you were on the lab table completely on your back and without any view of what Hange was trying to do until you felt a sudden breeze of cold air hitting you which caused you to slightly sit up to see that your panties were gone and in between their fingers.
“Maybe say something.” You spat.
They just glared over at you.
“Maybe take my advice and shut up. Don’t act like you won’t enjoy this.”
They tossed their glasses on the side of the table, their rough hands coming back to your thigh as they started to kneel down in front of you which caused you to let out a small scoff of disbelief.
They gave you an annoyed look after you scoffed.
The TA.
The egotistical TA was down on your knees in front of you.
The heat of their breath started to become apparent against the skin of your inner thigh and their lips finally connected to start slowly kissing down and the closer they got, the hotter you would feel.
“I didn’t take you for someone who was so willing to get on their knees.” You teased.
They didn’t respond like you wanted them to, the kissing continued and you watched one of their hands drag over towards the source of the heat from earlier, their finger slightly swiping across the sensitive spot before they spoke.
“I didn’t take you for someone who would be so easy to put in this position. It was not a challenge to get you to spread your legs either.” You rolled your eyes at their response but they weren’t wrong gin the slightest.
Before you could even respond, the sudden overwhelming pleasure and the warmth against your clit caused you to immediately lean your head back. The moans were escaping your mouth and your mind was spiraling as Hange’s tongue started doing wonders against you.
You didn’t care about volume.
You didn’t care up until you felt Hange’s hand cover your mouth to muffle your moans. They didn’t have to tell you, but when their hand push against your mouth to muffle you out more, you imagined them cursing at you to be quiet.
“Fuck..” You managed to get out between their fingers, you could feel them practically melting into you by the way their hand started to relax against your mouth.
There was no time, you could feel some parts in your stomach start to tighten and the first thing you did was grab the back of Hange’s head to practically push them in deeper, your hips moving on their own. Your mind was somewhere else that you didn’t even realize that you were suffocating Hange until the tightening sudden loosened.
It felt like you were brand new.
You loosened your grip on Hange’s hair causing them to slowly pull back, the sound of their breaths becoming apparent. You didn’t bother to look over at them until they finally got up and off of their knees to grab ahold of your face, forcing you to look over at them.
“That was fast. Was I really that good?” Their ego was back in an instant and the smile you hated so much returned but for once, you weren’t even bothered by it. But their timing did annoy you slightly.
You ripped your face away from their hand, a laugh came out of their mouth. But once you fully got a look of them, they looked relieved and even worse, they seem cockier than before.
“Fuck you.” You managed to get out while trying to catch your breath and process the whole interaction.
A new look for Hange, a hungry one.
“Is that you asking to go again? I wasn’t done with you, anyway.”

In Plain Sight | Part 2 of 3
Words: 1,200(ish) | Rating: General Audiences | Warnings: None Relationships: Matt Murdock (TV)/Original Female Character (Unnamed) Misc: roughly fits major MCU/DDS1-2 2015-16 timeline but tbh no DD canon plot points included Summary: The distinction between being visible, being under surveillance, and feeling seen is slight, but vastly important.
This was written as part of Amanda's 2.5k Writer Challenge hosted by @mattmurdocksscars! This part features the prompt "How do I look?", the first of two I assigned myself. (If varying verb tense is a pet peeve of yours, you may want to skip this.) Click here to read Part 1. | Click here to read Part 3.
In terms of agents, she was not an agent. Nor had she ever wanted to be one. It had been enough in recent years that she benefited from Stark’s armor tech development in exchange for the study of her unique biochemistry, an arrangement that kept her housed and fed and away from the golden handcuffs of SHIELD, until its spectacular collapse. Thinking on it now though, perhaps her obstinacy on that front had been a mistake; as she sat transfixed in front of a multi-screen news feed in Capitol Hill, watching a city crack open, float, and nearly crater into the Earth, the only thing she was, was useless.
And after 24 hours, each one sleepless, she was probably technically a fugitive, depending on how quickly the legal definition of ‘enhanced' was codified.
With no mooring, no contact from anyone she trusted, and a splintered optimism creeping close to shattering, she found herself drifting, half-awake, among a small crowd of commuters, boarding on a train that would deliver her back to New York. She attempts to sleep, curled uncomfortably across two seats in a blessedly empty section, but the tension of uncertainty, and the possibility of missing an emergency contact sits like a paperweight in her ribs, fixing her to consciousness. Her unfocused eyes sting, nearly unblinking as she waits, listening for footsteps of any passengers that might draw near and marking the rhythm of wheels rolling over rails.
Slipping out a train door at the back of a line is second-nature and navigating Penn Station is a matter of staying alert to avoid anyone with wheeled luggage and a Wall Street attitude. Save for one person who jogs around a corner and clips her shoulder hard enough to stumble, it’s successfully done. When they turn back to shout at whoever hit them, she kicks the suitcase out of their hand to send it rolling a good twenty feet away. When they scramble to chase after it, she smiles for the first time in at least a week.
The grid of Manhattan’s streets is intimately familiar after spending the last few years being housed here, though she doubts it will ever feel like home. Standing now at the corner of the station’s expansive staircase, she considers the route to the tower, to the guest suite she’s been afforded there. It’s barely a few blocks away, a short walk by New York standards, but tired as she is she knows a short walk here does not correlate to a safe walk. There’s no telling how many cameras she might pass, or which unmarked vans might hide operatives armed with specialized optics and enhanced restraints—and while she’s been told of an underground entrance to a maintenance corridor, getting there feels no safer.
If they had been able to finish work on her suit she could have just dropped onto the penthouse roof but—Oh.
Finding a climbable fire escape ends up taking less time than expected for this area. Crossing the streets is tougher; any equipment that could have helped had been purposely left in the safe house. By the time she cleared the first block, found a way down (scaring a cat), used a crowd of pedestrians as cover through a crosswalk, skirted into an alley and up another fire escape (scaring a—was that a ferret?), she couldn’t help wondering if she’d have been better off in Washington as well.
But these are the streets she knows best, exhausting though they are, and there’s no better place for her to hide in plain sight… so to speak.
“Cannot believe he does this every night,” she huffs, trying to hustle up a worryingly creaky set of steps. “Fucking... Stairdevil.”
The sun was sinking behind the skyline, and gifting cover in the form of long shadows along the rooftops. If she was lucky, she might reach his building before he went out, but she recalled a number of occasions when he had clearly started patrolling from somewhere else. Worst case, she’d find a hiding spot and wait him out. Medium case, if it turned out no one had followed her, she’d hop down and find a bodega.
She was not lucky. After deciding it was more wise to post up a few buildings away, she waited for two hours to catch any movement on his roof and saw nothing but the lights of departing planes as they faded into the clouds. After another half-hour passed with no developments she risks a quick trip to find bottled water and a few protein bars. Upwards of thirty hours without food meant her head was throbbing—and holding visibility long enough to not frighten the cashier only worsened the exhaustion in her bones, but at least in New York her tailor-made jumpsuit didn't draw any attention.
Back in position, she wolfs down two protein bars in five minutes and barely restrains herself from downing the water in one long drink. Though she’s not thrilled to be waiting here, and there’s still been no word from Sokovia... and Mr. Pajamas might not be pleased to find her on his block, all things considered, she’s glad for the opportunity to rest and breathe. And she wasn’t kidnapped off the street! Things could be worse.
And then the first drops of rain ting off a nearby metal hatch seconds before a streak of lightning tears through the sky.
“You’re joking.” She looks to the cloud directly above, which answers by dropping water directly into her eye.
There’s no point in running for cover once the sky opens; this suit is impressive but is not waterproof, and by the time she stands up and tucks the remaining food into an interior pocket, it’s reached maximum saturation. The noise of rain sheeting onto tarred flats and off sloped water towers was loud even to her, if she remembered correctly—and if the downpour lasted long enough—he’d be returning to his building sooner than later. Of course with her luck today, he would probably be laid up in bed with a broken leg and she’d accidentally fall asleep up here waiting.
It’s a warm rain at least. Now sitting against his roof access door she closes her eyes, tips her head back, and tries to relax.
What is she doing? She’s not an agent, certainly not an Avenger. A few years of clandestine training under her belt, and for what? Isolated again, likely homeless again, at risk of capture again, only now she's passably proficient at Muay Thai and small arms. Not exactly an Ivy League education. Maybe she’ll try Broadway, shop around for any directors who might want an actual phantom. Maybe that would be her superhero name: Phantom. Opera might be funny. Ghost would be cooler though—it’s probably taken by now.
Something whacks the side of her foot. She jolts upright and sees a figure standing inches from her feet, looks further up to find Hell's Kitchen's hottest Under Armour model, and heaves a sigh of relief.
His head tilts. Her eyes nearly fall shut again, and she almost laughs in wondering what a sight she must be to him in this moment, however he manages to do that.
“How do I look?”
“You caught me on a good night, so I won’t say you look like shit.”
“Yeah," she sighs. She'll have to believe him, she hadn’t spared a thought for her physical appearance in days.
He crouches down to her eye level, evoking the memory of their first meeting; has it only been a few months since then? “You look like you need help.”
“Yeah.” She manages a weak smile and attempt at a nod. “Would you like a protein bar?”

What is with this wage?!
In this post, I talked about how much the creeps in the mansion get paid. It is A LOT of money. So, what’s the deal? Why do they get paid so fucking much?! I’m specifically talking about Liu and EJ cuz holy hell
Also- yall get back-to-back posts cuz I been slow

Honestly, it comes down to value.
How difficult was it to get them in the mansion, how efficient are they, how many blows can they take, etc.
Liu Woods
He gets paid 275/hr that he’s out, 80/casualty that he deals, and 60/torture mission. He actually gets a raise to 600, then 1200 for his torture missions.
Admission: It was hell to get him in the mansion and, if he leaves, Jeff and EJ are out too.
Efficiency: Man takes pride in their ability to get people down. His normal missions never take long. It can be estimated 2 weeks, and he’ll be back in 4 days. (More realistically 8).
Competition: He used to be a prostitute, then a hitman. Payment is something that can easily determine whether or not he stays. He made bag when he worked the other jobs, so they gotta keep up.
Torture Missions: He can make people forget who they once were, give them new names, new families, and they will 100% believe it. The person they were before is gone. When he gets on of these assignments, he’s told to keep them alive, but kill their mind. And he does just that.
Eyeless Jack
335/hr, 800/medical service, 90/tracking missions, and he later gets pay for ‘hiding’ bodies 60/body
Admission: Again, this was hard. He almost left 8 times. Keeping him was almost as difficult as getting him in (I will elaborate about that later.)
Medical Services: when he first joined, they didn’t have anyone to help other than fucking Cody, who only knew about biochemistry.
Tracking Missions: when other members are on missions, and it comes back a failure because they lost the guy, it’s Jack’s job to find em again. However, he hates doing these! So, he has compensation: money and organs.
Hiding Bodies: he either eats them himself or feeds em to seed eater. It’s really helpful when it’s an important person.

studying SO HARD for my bio exam this friday.
biochemistry is so incredibly difficult for me to understand/conceptualize, like anything that is too small to really see for myself (but i have to take biology because i’m a psychology major lmao).
but i’m getting somewhere here!! i’m doing a shit ton of googling to wrap my head around things because my cishet white man professor is old and decaying and he sucks. he goes on terribly long tangents about random, mostly unrelated nonsense not limited to:
the fact that he wants to retire soon (this was on the first day of class); the hindenburg; his friend’s farm; assigning us the homework of drinking beer; when he “started believing in AI”; nothing at all because he didn’t show up to class for 15 minutes; why he doesn’t actually understand how one specific concept works because his professor wasn’t very good; and other random stuff.
so it’s impossible for me to understand what the hell he is talking about at any one time and even though it sounds funny that’s just because i’m a good storyteller. he is boring. he explains everything in a way that is so boring that by the time he gets back to the actual subject of biology, i can’t remember where he left off and i have no idea what’s going on.
anyways the googling is helping. i’m losing steam now, but that’s okay because i need to sleep soon!
i hope you all have a good night and some of my motivation sticks to you, if you need it! 🫂

Goals For The Week: 2/9 - 2/15/2025
Hi, all!
This is the first "goals for the week" post of the new year. I'm not going to lie: I've been pretty unmotivated this semester. I haven't gone to the gym once, and I've only had one study session for Biochem. I also haven't attended a single molecular bio class yet, because I'm just so mentally exhausted.
Nevertheless, I'm trying to get back on the horse. I woke up really early today and didn't feel like coming to the library, but I forced myself. So here I am now. I've got a good number of assignments due today, but I really feel this blog helped me stay motivated last semester, so I figured I should start with this first.
Academic Goals:
Submit all lab reports
Do all pre and post lab quizzes
Study for molecular biology (test next week)
Study for biochemistry (test next week)
Do Physics homeworks
Fitness + Health Goals:
Get back in the gym!
Start attending cycling classes again
Get back on a skincare routine (I've been slacking so bad)
Pack all of my lunches for the week at home!
Financial Goals:
Save as much money as possible by not buying anything unnecessary
These are my goals for the week!
I feel they're all very achievable, but I have to be motivated to do them, and I'm just not? It's so bad. :/
I don't know if this is senioritis finally settling in or what, but I just feel so sloppy. That's the only way to describe it.
Anyway, I'll be here, finishing up some assignments in the meantime.
Hope you all are doing wonderful in your classes.
Thanks for reading,
-C
