Holy shit it’s been a while since I’ve last posted on here my bad lol; anyways this is the cover art for my WIP SilverV fanfic ima write, based on an AU I’ve been imagining, where V/Valerie is the head of her own band called ‘2treet 21ren2’ and Johnny’s ex before the canon events of the game, a fic revolving around drug abuse, ptsd, trauma, minor cyber psychosis, cheating and more. Taking place in 2023 but with past flashbacks of their relationship before. (TLDR; If v and Johnny knew each other back in the early 2000’s when both started their bands, toxic relationship shit happens where angst,slow burn, and fluff happens)

Inspired by this iconic scene.

When Jason was with the League, he'd thought he'd spotted something lingering above the pits sometimes. Then again, he'd also been hopped up into a mad rage by nasty death water, so his memory wasn't credible by any means.

But after a particularly bad day, as Jason just sits in front of the Pits looking at his reflection, he looks up.

"Hello, handsome."

Gorgeous eyes looking down, freckles dotting the skin. White hair gracefully flowing, a playful smile directed at him.

"What a day, hm? You look lonely..."

A warm bubbly feeling sprouts in his chest. Like if pit rage had a distant cousin.

"I can fix that."

grian's billboard in joel's base should be a reference to the hologram lady in bladerunner 2049. except its MUMBO and it can be made of glass and glass panes for the hologram look and it totally won't hog all the attention in joel's attention not-hogging build.

took inspo from bladerunner here, but i didn’t use any references! i really want to do more loose sketches like this, i’ve found it suits my style much better than clean, polished work.

you’ll definitely be seeing more of this kind of art from me— and not just for bitc! >:]

ST5 STUFF FROM MICHAEL MAHER’S PINTEREST BOARD

So I saw this post about Matt’s pinterest boards & Michael Maher Jr collaborating on some of the boards, and so, I went to go peek at Michael Maher Jr’s pinterest page, and I found something very interesting- a Pinterest board titled “Tree Flayer”:

Which a.) this makes me think of the ST3 scene of Holly seeing the trees moving when the Fleshflayer is moving through them and b.) makes me think of the MF’s general tree-like shape, especially the red MF visuals in TFS with how it branches off- and it also makes me think of c.) something I’ve been on about for a Long Time- that official ST concept art of the green version of the UD with the giant tree and how it parallels Greenwood the Great (pre-shadow Mirkwood) from LOTR/the Hobbit:

This is why I’m very much inclined to believe that this “Tree Flayer” pinterest board is, in fact, for ST5, and not for onenof Michael’s other projects.

And brings me back to a very old draft I’ve been working on re: oak trees as a recurring motif in ST, especially surrounding the Creels.

And speaking of oak trees and the creels, Michael also had this “seed-rock-henry” board, versus The Hobbit movies being confirmed inspo & Bilbo’s acorn & the Oak tree on top of Bag End vs all of the Oak tree references with the Creels & the parallels between the Creels and Bag End:

And this ^ “seed-rock-henry” thing also has me staring directly at the weird “egg” from S1 that we see with the Demogorgon…

And then, there’s a bunch of other boards too, including a board titled “Seeker” with a ton of cool stuff on it, as well as stills from two movies that are on the ST4 board and have Henward connections (Bladerunner and Dont Breathe) , and this “Seeker” board also has so many creatures that seem to be like a mixture of the ST Doppelgorgon and Vecna and the MF etc vs what I’ve been saying re: the overlap between all of these creatures & my current draft about that + Massacre Henward likely being a Doppelgorgon creature vs the overlap between Doppelgorgons and the MF/being the “same creature” somehow.

Like, the inspo on here has stuff thats very clearly Doppelgorgon inspired and Vecna inspired by also has a ton of MF-inspired stuff like wraiths & ringwraiths & weird spider creatures…. And “Seeker” is also a type of Warlock in DND which is a WHOLEEEEE other can of worms on its own.

And not to mention that there’s ANOTHER board titled “Asylum- Seeker” which LITERALLY HAS A PICTURE OF PENNHURST ON IT:

And then there’s also a “seeker- plantations” board which is Very interesting considering the racial aspects of ST & TFS & things like Hawkins High in TFS not being segregated despite supposedly being in the 50s, and the 1800s stuff with The Dark of the Moon…..

And there’s also this whole “seeker lookbook” board that has SCREENSHOTS OF THE ST LAB SCENES IN ITTT

There’s SO much more i could say & that I’m going to say in future posts but I just wanted to get this post out there quickly!!!!

i have to say i admire how much love and care youve put into this universe.. all the little details in this comic make it feel so fleshed out, and you put so much care into your characters, even the minor ones . i love to see the things from other media that you draw inspiration from for your cats its so wonderful idk i just love to see someone with a keen eye for art in all its forms ;_; and i was floored by death grips in the last moon lmfao

I am a huge art lover and find a lot of inspiration from movies and music (me liking Death Grips is the ultimate jump scare) -- but I do think a lot of inspiration can be found in unusual sources.

Off the top of my head ... Magazine covers from the Victorian to WWII era and propaganda posters are great for color theory, and I reference them constantly. (I have a huge book on every cover of the Saturday Evening Post's 70+ year runtime)

I just woke up from a 12 hour sleep so this ask probably won't make much sense or it will have a lot of nonsequitors BUT I encourage everyone to look at old art, advertisements, music, and movies for inspiration. Stray from modernity, just a little.

Heronstar wouldn't be the character she is if it wasn't for the American noir / neo-noir concept of the femme fatale (largely Evelyn Mulwray a la Chinatown and Rachael a la Bladerunner)

referring to beth. i love that you have a character who can so specifically utilize your talents with dynamic posing and proportions. she can literally be whatever and that lets her be the tiniest gremlin in the world but also the bladerunner hologram but evil and im obsessed with it

thank you!! yes yes, Beth is one of those ocs of mine who I don't really need to worry at all about drawing on-model or whatever. as long as her personality shines through it's on-model. So I can really just have fun and do whatever I want, stylistically. I'm very very glad that comes across well enough

Bladerunner Redraw for SigmaArcade⚡️

-- I am incredibly proud of how this came out aaah. I will say it was a challenge, but having a reference to sort of check to see how the lighting and shading should look was super handy. Also I had to paint some semi-dry red sauce. And I'm pleased with how it turned out. I did some learning. -- Red sauce (on fur) tip: Start with a super blobby shape with a de-saturated red. Then layer up with a more saturated red. You can then add shine if the sauce isn't fully dry, or if you just wanna make it shiny. Why not?? Have fun. Blending tool is your best friend.

I just got out of seeing Ballerina and have thoughts. I’m gonna more or less stay spoiler free

I really really really loved it. It also managed to still feel like a John Wick movie even without him being that present, but also it didn’t feel like a female John Wick remake (Jane Wick?)

Also I’ve been a big fan of Ana de Armas since seeing her in Bladerunner. I think she did amazing as Eve

This is a weirded point of praise but it’s relevant in the modern action climate, but I do appreciate them not making Eve the super stoic badass who never loses a fight. They aren’t afraid to really toss her around

It kept all the really creative fight sequences that I liked in the main series. It took the “anything is a weapon” theme and ran with it

The weapon store scene was a personal favorite moment. It was like a callback to the sommelier without being too much of a reference. Also the fight there was awesome

Also the visuals were amazing. John Wick movies generally look pretty good, and this wasn’t an exception at all. The club scene early on for example caught my eye

We get to see more of the Ruska Roma. I loved that additional bit of worldbuilding. I feel like a spinoff should always add something, and I think in this case the way they developed the Ruska Roma beyond the bits we saw definitely makes it a worthwhile contribution. Also with it being ballerina themed it triggered my classical musician side with all the ballet music

The ending was awesome. That’s when they really show off the cool fight choreography

Only thing I kinda disliked was that they had a really interesting character with Daniel Pine but didn’t use him. I’m also just biased though and really love Norman Reedus

Also the intro was maybe just a little too long. I get having exposition and backstory but I feel like it started to cut into the meat of the story

This part is a spoiler but I wanna include it. Funny enough I was very take or leave for John Wick’s appearance at the end. I do get why the Director would call him, it just kinda felt like they wanted to remind us this is a John Wick movie but didn’t do that much

Overall, great movie. Really holds up as a John Wick movie and in its own right. Great addition to the beautiful women killing people genre
