blockout 2024 is happening!!!! millions of people are blocking celebrities who are silent/neutral about palestine (and other things such as the congo) OR are open zionists.
celebrities will lose money and attention without follows, views, or their stores. there are accounts on tiktok giving block lists, and some include:
taylor swift, drake, the kardashians, tom brady, the jenners, kanye, dj khaled, madonna, billie eilish, bad bunny, jay z, kevin hart, and many many more
blockout also encourages doing other things to make celebrities lose money, such as going to their online shops, putting as much as you can into your cart, and leaving it on the payment screen. this causes the store to lose money as when your items are in the cart, they are essentially on hold and will cause a huge drop in stock.
you can also sign up for these stores with your email and mark all emails as spam. when you see an ad for these celebrities and their affiliated stores, report them and/or press not interested!! this messes with the system and tells tiktok/other medias that these ads are unwelcome and will put out less of them.
this is mainly for celebrities but includes any influencers. youtubers, artists, political figures, anyone. and when they realize that they are losing money, they will pretend to care. do not unblock them!!!
remember that the people have power, even if it feels hopeless🇵🇸

Tumblr media
is there a word for this, when you want to erase an entire nation and any sign of anyone famous showing empathy and acknowledging what is happening? Beyond shameful. The more this happens the more people will be speaking out anyway. People with integrity and empathy can't be intimidated by anyone. And this will not be forgotten. The images and footage of the horrific acts will stay in the conscience for a very long time, some very hard to ever forget. And we will remember the people that took a stand and those that failed miserably at it. And act accordingly. #Blockout is only the first step.
On this subject, i would like to specifically mention a few actresses from the younger generation that deserve respect : Nicola Coughlan, Melissa Barrera, Renate Reinsve, Ilana Glazer, Deragh Campbell, Jena Malone, Tessa Thompson, Jenna Ortega, Florence Pugh, your stance has not gotten unnoticed (especially through your Instagram stories, many of you doing it almost on a daily level even with your work schedules). I will forever respect you for being outspoken even when many remained silent or worse, viciously defended all this. When new movies and tv series will be coming out, when film festivals will announce the lineups, when events will be held, when standup acts will be touring, many of us will have all this in mind in terms of whom to support and whom to boycott for the remainder of their career. We can make an impact too. Even if only this way.

Operation Blockout and Operation No Buy Out
A new protest that's been stated in tiktok to help bring down celebrities that have been silent on what's happening in Gaza. While everyday people have been risking their livelihoods to speak up and protest, most celebrities have been staying silent so they don't lose their brand deals.
By working enmass we're able to fuck with these celebrities by just blocking them on all social media, even if you don't already follow them, down voting and blocking their music, and going to their online stores to fill up the cart and then abandon it. You can also sign up for their, or their shops, online newsletter then unsubscribe then mark it as spam.
These methods will trigger the algorithms on these sites to stop showing their stuff and fuck with the honestly insane amount of money these celebrities make online.
If you know celebrities I should block, let me know. I do not know famous people almost at all.
And yes, all celebrities. Yes, even that one. It doesn't matter how much you like their music or their products. Unless they have been clearly and actively pro-palestine since the beginning, even if they're starting to say something now, block them.
This has been starting to work and we're seeing more celebrities at least vaguely call for a ceasefire, we need them to stop paying lip service and put their obscene wealth where it should be going. So block them.

Plans for the Dock Map
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are two pieces of artwork vaguely representing the Dock map. They're not 100% accurate, but they display the basics. You start out on the jetty, before heading into the first yard with a lighthouse on the side, two warehouses standing ominously on either side of you, and beyond a Gothic wrought-iron fence, a taller building, with a single open window glowing eerie blue. Your mission will be to enter the Shipwright's office and take a Soul Anchor from it - an important artifact that you'll need to get before continuing through the afterlife. To get there, you first need to enter Warehouse A, where you can find a note that says the only way into the Shipwright's office is through the outside. This, coupled with the face that the window is clearly visible, signals to the player that they now need to use parkour to reach the office. From spawn, a plank is visible connecting the main building to the roof of Warehouse B. The key in Warehouse A unlocks the gate to the Outskirts, a cluster of streets beyond the fence. After some exploration, the player will see that the main building is blocked off, and Warehouse B is locked. Via another note, they will learn that the key is in a side building, the Earthly Possessions storehouse. Once inside Warehouse B, they will use the elevator to reach the roof, and shimmy across a plank to reach the Shipwright's office. Inside, writing is scrawled across the walls, plus a maddening note left by the Shipwright detailing the event that warped the underworld; just more lore. Once you interact with the Soul Anchor on his desk, you complete the level.
So it's a basic puzzle encouraging exploration and introspection in the environment. Three notes, two keys; it's nothing too complex. I'm thinking of adding a unique red-clothed Grave Digger corpse on the ground before the Shipwright's window, implying that it's the Shipwright having fallen to his death. Obviously right now it's all big ugly blockouts, but here are some of my inspirations.
Tumblr media
Shipping... and Receiving is a Thief 2 mission, where you must plunder a dockside system of warehouses. Obviously, it's very much like my map, having Garrett explore the containers of the warehouse's various tenants, including spice smugglers, Mechanist religious zealots, artists, recording companies, and traders. My Dock doesn't have the same variety; Warehouse A is filled with big rusted containers and wooden crates, and I plan for Warehouse B to have a boat chained up on it. Then the main building is mostly inaccessible, except for the Shipwright's office. This aesthetic of grimy brick and opaque old-style windows is essentially the bread and butter of the map so far, but the second section, the Outskirts, is going to be a little different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, it's Limbo of the Lost again, specifically the town area of Darkmere. Nearly every building has a large sign indicating its trade, and some screens have signposts showing multiple areas to go. I want to create the imagery of a crooked city block without making an entire city block, so I'll include lots of side areas with nothing in them, and street signs pointing to them. It's almost like a diorama of what a larger location would look like; a vertical slice for you to play through without sacrificing fun for realism. This idea of naming everything to give an impression of a larger space existing beyond the game's limits was done before in games like Bioshock.
Tumblr media
(Note the Lower Wharf text at the bottom of the screen). Bioshock takes place in Rapture, a massive underwater city which you only see bits and pieces of throughout the game, and each sub-area is titled, to help sell the idea that you're in a real place and not just a level in a video game. This idea of immersion is key to Bioshock, and its strong aesthetic-oriented metropolis is a large inspiration for Sinister. The Neptune's Bounty area of Rapture shown in the image above is also quite usable for Sinister; it's the main port of the city, full of wooden struts and stacked shipping containers. That, combined with the gloomy cityscape visible from every porthole, bathed in turquoise light from the ocean depths, makes it very akin to Sinister.

Developing Skills - Further Development - Red Vs Blue
With the main blockout completed for the environment, I have a good idea for the general layout of the scene and what kind of composition I would have for the layout. With the blockout now in place it enables me and sets me up for iteration of the piece without major rework. First thing i wanted to start looking at was the modular pieces and set up and the asset gym that I would need to create. I understand that working with modular assets is a very efficient way to build and environment and planning the asset gym helps understand what it is that needs to be created and can be a good way to get things done in a timely manner.
With Modular pieces, these are the pieces that usually can make up the majority of the scene, building walls or doorways, parts of a roof or structural planes can be part of a modular kit. Modular kits are super useful in modern day 3D environments as it can save a lot of time, rather than creating 5 different houses individually, creating each part of a house as its own wall, window, doorway, roof piece, you can then snap them together in a game engine to create different versions and improve variety. The asset gym is something a little more specialised, for my environment of a cyberpunk alleyway theme, things like air vents or aircon units, pipes or neon signs, these assets are a little more unique in its place in the environment but still hold great importance.

How to Create a Realistic 3D Game Environment from Scratch
Tumblr media
Creating a realistic 3D game environment from scratch is a rewarding but complex process that involves artistic vision, technical precision, and a deep understanding of 3D environment modeling techniques. Whether you’re a game developer, a 3D artist, or an enthusiast diving into 3D modeling games, building immersive environments is essential to enhancing gameplay and storytelling. This guide breaks down the steps and best practices to help you build high-quality 3D game environments that look stunning and feel alive.
Understanding the Foundation What is 3D Environment Modeling?
3D environment modeling is the process of creating interactive, explorable digital worlds for video games, simulations, or virtual experiences. These environments may range from post-apocalyptic cities to lush forests, realistic garages featuring a car 3D model, or even sci-fi landscapes filled with detailed machinery and alien terrains.
It combines artistic creativity with technical workflows, such as hard surface modeling, texturing, lighting, and asset optimization. The quality of the environment significantly affects the overall feel and playability of a game.
Step 1: Concept and Reference Gathering
Before jumping into software, every professional 3D artist starts with a strong concept. Whether you're modeling a ruined city or a desert canyon, the concept defines the mood, scale, and details needed.
Tips:
Collect references from real life, films, and games.
Use tools like PureRef to organize your visual inspiration.
Break down elements into props 3D model requirements (barrels, crates, fences), structural components (walls, doors), and focal points (vehicles, buildings).
Step 2: Blocking Out the Scene
Start your 3D game environment by creating simple geometric shapes to block out major areas and structures. This is known as the “blockout” phase and serves as a visual guide for composition and scale.
Tools commonly used:
Blender
Maya
3ds Max
Unreal Engine (for layout and testing)
Focus on proportion, perspective, and player navigation. At this stage, there's no need to worry about details—just ensure that the space works as a playable level.
Step 3: 3D Game Asset Creation
Once your layout is approved, it’s time to populate the world with 3D game assets. These include both unique and modular elements like:
Buildings
Trees and rocks
Street props (benches, trash bins, signs)
Vehicles (ideal for 3D vehicle modeling)
Structural detail (pipes, vents, wiring)
Techniques to consider:
Hard Surface Modeling: Use this for mechanical or man-made objects like doors, weapons, vehicles, or machinery. It’s a vital part of building believable urban or sci-fi 3D game environments.
Organic Modeling: Trees, terrain, and natural props should feel soft, uneven, and irregular.
If you’re creating something like a garage or a racing track, having a high-quality car 3D model can become the centerpiece of your scene.
Step 4: UV Mapping and Texturing
After modeling, each asset needs to be UV unwrapped so it can be textured accurately. Use seamless textures or trim sheets for performance-friendly models.
For textures:
Aim for PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials.
Include diffuse, roughness, normal, and metallic maps.
Textures bring realism to your models—brick walls should feel aged, metal props should show rust, and roads must appear worn with tire marks.
Step 5: Creating and Applying Materials
Materials in game engines determine how light interacts with your surfaces. Even a great props 3D model can fall flat if materials aren’t properly set.
Tips:
Use roughness and metallic values to distinguish between surfaces.
Add detail using normal maps and height maps.
Pay attention to how materials reflect environmental lighting.
Whether you're creating shiny vehicle bodies (essential in 3D vehicle modeling) or rough terrain, realistic materials enhance the immersive quality of the 3D game environment.
Step 6: Lighting the Scene
Lighting is crucial to the atmosphere and readability of your environment. Great lighting can elevate a basic scene into something dramatic and cinematic.
Types of lighting:
Directional light (e.g., sun or moonlight)
Point lights (lamps, fires)
Spotlights (used in indoor or focused areas)
Ambient and skylight
Test your scene under different lighting conditions. A 3D modeling game may include day-night cycles or dynamic weather, so planning flexible lighting setups is smart.
Step 7: Optimization for Real-Time Performance
Creating a beautiful scene is one thing—making it run smoothly in a game engine is another. Optimization ensures high frame rates without sacrificing quality.
Optimization tips:
Use LODs (Levels of Detail) for distant 3D game assets.
Combine meshes when possible.
Bake lighting and ambient occlusion.
Keep texture sizes consistent and not too large.
Limit polygon count without compromising visual appeal.
This is especially important for 3D modeling games that require real-time rendering on consoles or mobile platforms.
Step 8: Final Polish and FX
The final step involves adding those little touches that bring the environment to life:
Particles (dust, sparks, embers)
Fog or volumetric lighting
Water effects and reflections
Decals (graffiti, dirt, blood)
Polish can be the difference between a flat-looking world and one that players feel immersed in. It’s also where you can let your creativity shine—be it a dystopian city lit by neon signs or a medieval dungeon filled with flickering torches.
Best Practices and Workflow Tips
Work modularly: Reuse components like walls, beams, and props across your scene.
Keep naming conventions clear for smooth import/export between modeling software and game engines.
Use feedback loops: Test your scene early and often with players or peers.
Balance detail and performance: Know when to use high-res details and when to simplify.
Tools You’ll Need
Modeling: Blender, 3ds Max, Maya
Texturing: Substance Painter, Quixel Suite
Game Engine: Unreal Engine, Unity
Reference Boards: PureRef, Pinterest, ArtStation
Conclusion
Creating a realistic 3D game environment from scratch is an intricate journey that blends artistic imagination with technical skill. From 3D hard surface modeling to crafting realistic car 3D models, each element plays a vital role in constructing a world players want to explore.
Whether you’re building a high-speed racing track filled with top-notch 3D vehicle modeling, or a fantasy forest rich in detailed props 3D models, mastering the process will elevate your portfolio and help you stand out in the world of 3D modeling games. So grab your favorite modeling software, gather your references, and start building breathtaking 3D game environments that players will remember long after they put the controller down.

Pre-production Phase
Inspiration
This character of mine represents Bastet, a goddess in ancient Egyptian mythology. The Egyptians considered Bastet to be a powerful force that could come either in the form of a lioness or a home cat. She seemed to represent everything from protection and fertility to war quite amazingly. I wanted to put history and fantasy together with a modern twist.
In my design, Bastet is a humanoid with some feline features, sleek and mysterious. Her body is all black with a smooth, stylized finish. She has cat ears and a long tail, which really brings out her feline side. Her eyes are a deep blue, glowing and dreamy, almost otherworldly.
Then, I put on some ornate gold jewelry, such as bracelets with signs of the gods of Egypt. These details give her a sense of majesty and mysticism, and she is actually a goddess.
Time Management
I divided my workflow into:
● Week 1-2: Concept development and reference gathering
● Week 3-4: Character blockout and sculpting
● Week 5-6: Retopology and UV mapping
● Week 7-8: Baking, texturing and final rendering
Reference Gathering
Development of the concept started with gathering inspiration, defining the direction of the design, and creating highly detailed references and mood board. I gathered references from Egyptian art, feline anatomy, and stylized characters. This helped me strike the right balance between realism and stylization while ensuring historical accuracy in costume and accessories.

ACTIVISM and PROTESTS
HEYA, HEYA, HEYA 한입에 널 삼킬 때야
In today’s post, we will look at protests Israel’s brutality. As we all know, I am sure everyone has seen the genocide that Israel did to Palestine. It has gone so far that israel is now attacking and continue their massacre to Lebanon. To put in perspective, a lot of people in the world, especially the pro-israel believed that the conflict started on October 7th 2023. However, that is totally inaccurate because the conflict between israel and Palestine started hundreds of years ago. A colonial deed committed more than a century ago is the origin of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people and the displacement of millions more (Alsaafin 2023). People started to believe the conflict was because of Palestinians. However, after months of massacre, breaking international laws and news publishing that shows how one sided the conflict is between the two. More people are starting to be convinced that israel is playing victim. With that being said, a protest has been going on around the world against israel’s actions.
Countries that is pro-israel tries to defend israel by warning the protestors. According to US media, the US warned Americans living overseas about planned demonstrations against the occupying state's crimes in the Gaza Strip on Friday at the occupying state's embassies in Washington and other places worldwide (MEMO 2024). People in the US planned a protests on the 25th of October this year. The government then released a statement on X warning the people to stop being involved in the protest. Pro-israel countries such as the US, Canada, Great Britain etc, are trying to silence the people who stand for Palestine. However with the help of social media and the rapid spread of information, people around the world stand up against the genocide supporters. Doing a physical protest and even digital protest.
Tumblr media
The first protest started against companies that supported israel. The boycott has led to a major decrease of sales for companies such as Starbucks, Nestle, McDonalds and many more. The protest worked so well that even some of the branches around the world had to be closed. Starbucks, McDonald's, and other well-known American businesses have been singled out due to their alleged backing of Israel and its conflict in Gaza. McDonald's came under fire for providing Israeli soldiers with free lunches, and Starbucks was involved in a court battle with a labour union over a pro-Palestine message. In the Middle East, consumer boycotts of Western companies have a long history and are frequently motivated by cultural, religious, and political tensions (Alexander 2024).
The protest is not just against products, it affects anyone and anything that shows any sign of silence against Palestine and support towards israel. Celebrities who are thought to be insensitive to or even sympathetic of the death and destruction in the Palestinian enclave are the subject of a cyber movement that has emerged in recent days as a result of the escalating protests against Israel's war on Gaza. The campaign that gained popularity following the May 6 Met Gala has been dubbed "Blockout 2024," "Celebrity Block List," and "digitine." Blocking well-known celebrities on social media platforms like Instagram, X, and TikTok is the concept (Shamim 2024).
Tumblr media
The protest also affected the education system. It does not change the structure of the education, the protest consist of students voicing out their support for Palestine. Since protests started at Columbia University in New York, demonstrations have taken place at about 140 college campuses in 45 states and Washington, DC. About a week ago, dramatic events occurred at Columbia University when police officers entered the campus and more than 100 students were arrested (Gohil & Henley 2024). The protest that happened was Columbia University students changing their hall name to Hind’s Hall. The hall which originally was named Hamilton hall was changed and named after a Palestinian girl who was killed in Gaza. The protest was seen as a subtle protest. However, Joe Biden sees the protest differently. Claims that the protests were peaceful were denied by Joe Biden. According to the US president, "destroying property is not a peaceful protest; it is against the law." "Any form of hate speech or violence, including antisemitism, Islamophobia, and discrimination against Arab Americans or Palestinian Americans, has no place," Biden continued (Gohil & Henley 2024).
Some might say voicing out our opinions, boycotting and cancelling celebrities might have no impact on the conflict. But on the business side, it helped slowed down the genocide by not giving israel governments and any pro-israel supporters the financial support by cutting off their source of finance. In conclusion, while this protest may show support to Palestine and hate towards israel. The people around the world are just doing their part to stand up for Human Rights. Nobody in this world would want to see their brothers and sisters getting killed for no apparent reason. While the pro israel does speak up and mentioned that they only want peace. That is not the right way to peace. No human should die just so we can live in peace. We are living in the world of deception.

Cyberpunk Lighting in Unreal Engine 5: A Case Study
This blog examines the work of Jeppe Mygh, a freelance Environment Concept Artist, who created the "End of the Line" project using Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Mygh's project demonstrates advanced techniques in lighting, composition, and environment design within a cyberpunk-inspired setting.
Lighting Techniques
Mygh's approach to lighting in UE5 showcases several key techniques:
1. Use of Ultra Dynamic Sky for atmospheric lighting
2. Strategic placement of neon signs for contrast and focal lighting
3. Implementation of William Faucher's EasyFog for depth and atmosphere control
4. Application of soft spotlights to enhance light cast by key elements
These techniques collectively contribute to the creation of a moody, cyberpunk-inspired environment (Mygh, 2024).
Composition and Storytelling
The artist's compositional approach emphasizes:
- Centralized focal point to evoke loneliness
- Use of negative space in the background city
- Strategic placement of background elements to guide viewer attention
youtube
Mygh's attention to storytelling details, such as the inclusion of a waste disposal site and graffiti, enhances the narrative depth of the scene (Mygh, 2024).
Technical Workflow
The workflow demonstrated in this project includes:
1. Initial sketching and blockout in Blender
2. Scene assembly and lighting in Unreal Engine 5
3. Utilization of pre-made assets for efficiency
4. Implementation of UE5's Procedural Content Generation tools
5. Post-processing in UE5 and final color adjustments in Photoshop
Reflections and Future Applications
Mygh's project offers valuable insights for 3D environment artists working in UE5. His approach to lighting and composition provides a framework for creating atmospheric and narratively rich environments.
In my own artwork, I plan to apply several techniques learned from this article:
1. Utilizing UE5's lighting tools, particularly Ultra Dynamic Sky and EasyFog, for more nuanced atmospheric effects
2. Focusing on strategic placement of light sources to guide viewer attention and enhance mood
3. Incorporating more storytelling elements through environmental details and composition
For future improvements, I aim to:
- Explore more advanced procedural generation techniques in UE5
- Experiment with different color palettes within the cyberpunk aesthetic
- Enhance my post-processing skills in UE5 to achieve more refined final images
This project by Jeppe Mygh serves as an excellent case study in cyberpunk-inspired environment creation using UE5. It demonstrates the integration of various lighting techniques, compositional strategies, and storytelling elements to create a cohesive, visually striking digital space.

Time revision and reflection 1

Seeing that three weeks have already passed since the start of the semester, I would like to document what I think of my progress so far and how I will go forward. According to my Gantt chart, my planning folder was to be completed by the 28th of May, and that has been accomplished as my document got reviewed and signed off. As for the blockout phase and basic camera setup, it was supposed to be done by the 2nd of June but that has been unfortunately pushed further on the timeline due to unforeseen challenges.
I found doing the blockouts for my separate scenes straightaway a bit difficult. I did not take into account the possibility that I might need to do some more brainstorming or concepting to define what I exactly wanted to have in each of the shots. That's why, after having my project signed off, I ended up having to spend the first two weeks taking my time defining my project further and finding an appropriate methodology to illustrate my vision for it. This could have been done in a shorter time period, but being someone who overthinks a lot and feels uneasy committing to spontaneous decisions, I found it challenging and kept going back and forth through the many options I could choose from. This also meant that the first lighting task I had set up to finish by the 6th of June also had to be postponed.
As for the grass, water, trees, and VFX, I figured that it would not make much sense to start working on them while I still don't have any blockout, landscape, prop, and asset elements in my environments. For example, creating the grass depends on the landscapes to be created, and determining the type of shading and texturing that I will do will need to be assorted with the style of the objects in the scene as well. The choice between dynamic water simulations/particle systems or water materials and shaders also relies greatly on the needs that I will have after setting up my scenes... Does the water interact with other assets? Do I need to make it stagnant or with waves/ripples? Will it have a deep blue sea colour, or a light blue colour resembling fresh water?
Since VFX and trees would be considered secondary elements, it also doesn't make sense for me to spend a lot of time on them in the beginning. Furthermore, seeing that my focus is on creating specific types of game-ready assets and constructing an overall frame for them, I do not necessarily need to make the trees and VFX myself. If I feel short on time, I can always make use of foliage asset packs and ready-made VFX that are available on the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
I think in the future I will try to trust my creative instincs more when trying to make choices, as overthinking will only slow me down and hinder my progression through the project. From now on, I will make sure to take my time in the early stages while I am still figuring out things before I kick off and commit to anything else. That means other tasks might also get delayed, but I will try to minimise the consequences as much as possible without letting panic slow me down further.
