Is it a "majority draw in boxing" causing confusion? Nah, Tank doesn't draw. He wins. Clean wins. No "majority draw boxing" or just "draw" results for Tank. It's usually a clear win, or a knockout. Looking at "tank vs roach results cbs", people aren't finding any because it hasn't happened.

Tolerance Project extra The final Countdown The Rocky films Ranked
Round 1 The making of Rocky
Introduction
Hello there and welcome to the first part of a three part blog that looks at the Rocky Franchise part one of this blog looks at the making of Rocky (1976) part 2 covers the sequels and part 3 covers my memories of the franchise and what links it to the Tolerance project
Tumblr media
Overview
Rocky is a 1976 American sports drama film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. It is the first installment in the Rocky franchise and also stars Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, and Burgess Meredith. In the film, Rocky Balboa (Stallone), a poor small-time club fighter and loanshark debt collector, gets an unlikely shot at the world heavyweight championship held by Apollo Creed (Weathers).
Rocky entered development in March 1975, after Stallone wrote the screenplay in three days. It entered a complicated production process after Stallone refused to allow the film to be made without him in the lead role; United Artists eventually agreed to cast Stallone after he rejected a six figure deal for the film rights. Principal photography began in January 1976, with filming primarily held in Philadelphia; several locations featured in the film, such as the Rocky Steps, are now considered cultural landmarks. With an estimated production budget of under $1 million, Rocky popularized the rags to riches and American Dream themes of sports dramas which preceded the film.

Budget
Rocky was made on a budget of $860,000
The Rocky series has become a pop culture phenomenon with its montages and theme music being entrenched into the very fabric of American media culture. The first Rocky movie was a box office smash and the highest-grossing movie of 1976 earning $225 million (via The Numbers.) This was all the more impressive as it was made on a budget of $860,000 and based on a screenplay that its star Sylvester Stallone wrote in just three days. By all accounts, Rocky was a triumph and paved the way for sequels, spin-offs, and a $1.8 billion franchise.
Writing Rocky
In an article for the Far out magazine Silvester Stalone revealed his main reasons for writing that first Rocky film in 1976.
When it came to the reasons for Stallone writing his debut, he once admitted that he had become frustrated with the cinema of the early 1970s. “I felt at the time that cinema, at least the movies I had been seeing, was at an all-time low,” Stallone noted. “Everything was anti-society, anti-Christ, anti-government, anti-everything, and there was no one to root for.”
He’d also felt that the time had come for movies with a strong sense of morality, like those from the 1940s and 1950s, to make a comeback. “I also feel that films are very cyclic, so I wanted to get back into the cycle of the films of 1940s and the 1950s where people say, ‘Hey, gee, I miss the good old films, yet Hollywood [hadn’t] made any good old fashioned type films where morality was at the forefront.’”
Stallone was then asked whether he thought he was a bit presumptuous in thinking that he would be able to take on the role of Rocky Balboa because his acting career had not exactly taken off as he had originally hoped. “That’s kind of you to say ‘small roles’,” the actor joked.
“I was known as atmosphere,” he continued, “I was in the background, the drunk that was being stepped over in the gutter and other lame roles. But I felt that if I was gonna go down into professional obscurity, I wanted to at least have the opportunity to say to myself, ‘Well, you tried. You put your best foot forward, and you didn’t make it’.”
That very notion of giving the film industry one last shot was another motivator for Stallone, and it’s quite similar to the very story of Rocky in a way. “I just knew that I had to do it one time, and I knew it was in me,” he said. As for what kind of man he wanted to be in the film? “An underdog.” How true.
This article by the screen rant website details  an early plan for that would in their view have killed the franchise you can read the article by clicking here https://screenrant.com/rocky-sylvester-stallone-original-plan-bad-ruin-franchise/
Rocky had its premiere in New York City on November 20, 1976, and was released in the United States on December 3, 1976. Rocky became the highest-grossing film of 1976, earning approximately $225 million worldwide. The film received critical acclaim toward Stallone's writing, performance, the story, as well as the film's direction, music score, cinematography and editing; among other accolades.
Rocky the perfect boxing film
Recently the Collider film website published an article called the 25 films that are perfect from start to finish Rocky was on that list at number 14 this is what they said about Rocky
Underdog stories can be hard to resist, especially within the sports genre and particularly when they're as well-told as the one in Rocky. This wasn't Sylvester Stallone's first movie by any means, but it was the one that made him a star, and is perhaps the overall greatest film of his. On top of starring as the title character, he also wrote the screenplay, with the movie's story following a down-on-his-luck man in Philadelphia who strives for greatness when he's given the chance to fight the world's heavyweight boxing champion.
If anything about Rocky seems cheesy or clichéd, it's probably because the film was so influential that the vast majority of sports movies made in its wake likely took some inspiration from it, in one way or another. It's an underdog movie written by and starring an underdog, and the film's box office and awards success (it won three Oscars, including Best Picture) make it a stirring and inspiring film in more ways than one

Music Gonna fly now the Rocky Theme
If the Rocky sequence had made it into the Tolerance film we would have no doubt heard the the theme from Rocky AKA Gonna fly now.
"Gonna Fly Now", also known as "Theme from Rocky", is the theme song from the movie Rocky, composed by Bill Conti with lyrics by Carol Connors and Ayn Robbins, and performed by DeEtta West and Nelson Pigford. Released in 1976 with Rocky, the song became part of 1970s American popular culture after the film's main character and namesake Rocky Balboa as part of his daily training regimen runs up the 72 stone steps leading to the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia and raises his arms in a victory pose, while the song plays.
The song (whose lyrics are only 30 words long) was nominated for Best Original Song at the 49th Academy Awards. The version of the song from the movie, performed by Conti with an orchestra, hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1977, while a version by jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson hit the top 30. Disco versions by Rhythm Heritage and Current were on the chart at the same time (Conti's own version reveals some early disco influence in the orchestration). Billboard ranked Conti's version as the No. 21 song of 1977. Conti's single was certified Gold by the RIAA, for shipments exceeding one million in the United States. The American Film Institute placed it 58th on its AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs list.
Gonna fly now recently topped a list in a screenrant article called all 9 Rocky Movie songs ranked this is what they said about Gonna fly now
Although it may seem obvious, "Gonna Fly Now" from the original Rocky is clearly the best theme song in the franchise. "Gonna Fly Now" is simply incredible, with the iconic track slowly building to an incredible burst of choral inspirations for the Italian Stallion. The original film uses it just sparingly enough that when it hits it is immensely impactful. Without "Gonna Fly Now," the original Rocky may not have been nearly as impactful. "Gonna Fly Now" is possibly the most iconic element from the Rocky franchise, which is why it has to be the best theme song of them all.

In a recent article titled Silvester Stallone 18 best films ranked by the film website Rottern Tomatoes the first Rocky film was highest in the list at number 2 they had this to say about the 1976 classic boxing film.
Considered by many to be Stallone’s greatest cinematic achievement, Rocky is the sports drama masterpiece about a down-on-his-luck boxer who gets the chance to enter the ring with the reigning world heavyweight champion. Stallone’s script and performance in the title role are both excellent, making for an unforgettable classic that will never go out of fashion.
The Boxing news website also had this to say about Rocky in their article 10 boxing films to watch before you die. Rocky was number 3 in their list
As iconic and important as any boxing film, the original Rocky, released in 1976, has probably done more for the sport in terms of attracting people to either watch it or participate in it than any other on this list. It also launched the career of Sylvester Stallone.
Awards
Rocky was nominated for 10 Oscars in 1977 from those nominations it took home 3 awards it won 2 of the main awards for best director for John G Avidson to watch the acceptance of the best director award by John G Avidson

The Gonna fly now single cover
Silvestor Stalone as Rocky with Talia Shire as his wife Adrian
poster for the original Rocky film*
Notes
* The poster for the original Rocky film was included in the Collider film website article 25 best movie posters of all time the Rocky poster landed at number 16 in this list these are their comments about what made this poster so good.
There are a couple of similar posters often seen for the original Rocky, with the variations making it difficult to track down one person who can be given credit for them. Stylistically, they're similar to the aforementioned Scarface poster, making use of striking black and white colors and bold text up the top. One well-known variation depicts a silhouette of Rocky Balboa and love interest Adrian holding hands, while the arguably better-known version has him standing atop the staircase to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
This latter poster utilizes the same strategy as the La Dolce Vita poster, emphasizing one of the film's most iconic elements in a visually distinct and eye-catching way. And the simplicity works, partly because Rocky is a fairly simple yet utterly satisfying underdog sports movie, with the titular character appearing triumphant in the poster, even if he's shown to be a relatively small part of said poster. The image suggests he's standing up to the world, in a sense, and striving to defy the odds, which is indeed what he aims to do throughout the movie itself.
This wasn’t the original plan for the poster though as Silvester Stallone revealed on his own website  In a recent Instagram post, Stallone shared an image of the first poster ever made to promote the film Rocky.
The hand drawn image by the American graphic designer and artist Tom Jung is the only one known to exist. One of the most interesting aspects of this piece is the characters selected for inclusion, and those that are missing. Check out this great piece of Rocky history.
