Common Mistakes in Acne Treatment (And How to Avoid Them)
Avoid the most common acne treatment mistakes that could worsen your skin. Learn practical tips to optimize your routine and achieve clearer, healthier skin.
Tumblr media
Acne is a universal challenge that affects people of all ages, but the path to clear skin often involves trial and error. With so much conflicting advice, it’s easy to make mistakes that hinder progress. At Nakery Beauty, we believe that treating acne doesn’t have to feel like an uphill battle. By avoiding common missteps and embracing targeted, effective solutions, you can unlock the radiant, healthy skin you deserve.
In this guide, we’ll dive into the most common mistakes in acne treatment and how to avoid them—empowering you with knowledge, confidence, and actionable tips to care for your skin.
Overwashing Your Skin
The MistakeMany people believe that washing their face frequently will keep acne at bay. However, overwashing does more harm than good. It strips the skin of its natural oils, which are essential for maintaining a healthy skin barrier. This triggers the sebaceous glands to overproduce oil in an attempt to compensate for the dryness. The excess oil can clog pores, leading to even more breakouts. Overwashing can also cause irritation, redness, and sensitivity, further aggravating acne-prone skin.
How to Avoid ItTo maintain a healthy balance, stick to cleansing your face twice a day—once in the morning to remove sweat and oils produced overnight and once in the evening to wash away dirt, makeup, and environmental pollutants. Using a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser is crucial. Nakery Beauty’s Cleansers are specially formulated to effectively remove impurities without disrupting your skin’s natural balance. If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, opt for a cleanser infused with calming botanicals to soothe irritation.
Pro TipAfter cleansing, always replenish your skin barrier with a hydrating product to lock in moisture. Don’t forget other areas of your skin—your lips and body also need care. Consider adding Nakery Beauty’s Lip Care products to keep your lips soft and hydrated, and extend your routine with effective Body Care to prevent dryness in areas prone to irritation.
By keeping your routine gentle yet effective, you can reduce the risk of over-cleansing while promoting clear, radiant skin.
Relying Solely on Spot Treatments
The MistakeWhile Spot Treatment products are effective at reducing inflammation for individual pimples, relying solely on them won’t address the underlying causes of acne. This approach often overlooks the importance of treating the entire skin to prevent future breakouts.
How to Avoid ItAdopt a comprehensive routine that includes cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and targeted treatments. Start with a gentle cleanser to remove impurities, followed by Nakery Beauty’s Serums, which deliver potent, active ingredients to reduce inflammation, fade blemishes, and prevent new acne from forming. Pair this with nourishing products like Nakery Beauty’s Body Care and Lip Care essentials to ensure that both your skin and lips remain hydrated, healthy, and radiant throughout your acne treatment journey.
Misunderstanding "Purging" vs. Breakouts
The MistakeStarting new skincare products can sometimes trigger a temporary increase in breakouts, known as purging. This is often mistaken for irritation, leading many to abandon products that might actually work.
How to Avoid ItUnderstand the difference: Purging usually happens in areas where you already experience breakouts and subsides within 4–6 weeks. Irritation, on the other hand, causes redness, dryness, or breakouts in new areas. If irritation occurs, reassess your routine and opt for gentle yet effective formulations. Nakery Beauty’s Skin Treatment products are designed to calm and balance your skin during this transition. To fully support your journey, consider extending care to other areas like Body Care or hydrating your lips with Lip Care for a holistic skincare routine.
Ignoring Post-Acne Care
The MistakeMany people focus solely on clearing active acne but neglect to address the scars and hyperpigmentation that remain. These post-acne marks can linger for months, affecting your skin's overall radiance and tone.
How to Avoid ItIncorporate Brightening treatments and products specifically designed to promote skin renewal. Ingredients like niacinamide and vitamin C are powerful allies in fading dark spots and improving skin clarity. Additionally, Nakery Beauty’s range of Collagen-boosting products can accelerate skin repair and enhance resilience. These formulas work to reduce the appearance of scars while revitalizing your skin’s natural glow. With consistent use, you’ll see a smoother, more even complexion over time, helping you feel confident and radiant.
Using Unsuitable Makeup Products
The MistakeUsing heavy, pore-clogging foundations can worsen acne, especially when not removed properly at the end of the day. This can lead to buildup of makeup, dirt, and oil that clog pores and aggravate existing breakouts.
How to Avoid ItTo prevent this, choose non-comedogenic makeup products like Nakery Beauty’s Foundation, which is specially formulated to enhance your natural beauty without contributing to acne or skin irritation. Our foundation provides full coverage while allowing your skin to breathe, helping you maintain a flawless look without clogging pores. Always follow up with a high-quality Cleanser from Nakery Beauty to ensure all traces of makeup and impurities are completely removed. A proper cleansing routine is key to clear, radiant skin, setting a solid foundation for the next step in your skincare routine.
Neglecting Your Neck and Body
The MistakeMany skincare routines focus exclusively on the face, leaving the neck, chest, and back untreated. These areas are just as prone to acne, irritation, and dryness, and they deserve the same level of attention and care. Ignoring your body’s skincare can lead to breakouts in areas that are often harder to treat, and a lack of hydration can result in dry, rough patches of skin.
How to Avoid ItTo achieve clear, smooth skin from head to toe, extend your routine to include your neck, chest, back, and arms. Nakery Beauty’s Body Wash is a luxurious, sulfate-free cleanser that gently removes impurities without stripping the skin. For more targeted care, try our Bodycare Bundles, designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate. These bundles address body breakouts while keeping the skin soft and rejuvenated, ensuring your skin looks radiant and feels healthy all over. Don’t forget that caring for your body is just as important as caring for your face.
Overlooking Lifestyle Factors
The MistakeTreating acne without considering the impact of diet, stress, and sleep often leads to incomplete results. It’s not just about using the right skincare products; your overall lifestyle plays a significant role in maintaining clear skin. Foods high in sugar and dairy can cause inflammation and spike insulin levels, which in turn may trigger more acne breakouts. Chronic stress releases cortisol, a hormone that can increase oil production, while sleep deprivation prevents your skin from repairing itself properly.
How to Avoid ItAdopting a holistic approach to skincare means addressing lifestyle factors like stress management, quality sleep, and a balanced diet. Managing your stress with activities like yoga, meditation, or simply taking time for self-care can have a positive impact on your skin’s health. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night to allow your body and skin to rejuvenate. Nourish your skin from the inside out by consuming a diet rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins that promote skin health. Additionally, avoid sugary drinks that can spike insulin and worsen acne.
Pro Tip: Stay hydrated with water, herbal teas, or antioxidant-rich beverages to support your skin’s natural glow. Lifestyle changes like these, paired with the right skincare, can work together to keep your complexion clear, glowing, and healthy.
Skipping Sunscreen
The MistakeSome people believe sunscreen can cause acne or that it’s unnecessary when dealing with breakouts. However, skipping sunscreen can lead to long-term skin damage, hyperpigmentation, and even worsen acne scars. Sun exposure can trigger inflammation, making your acne worse and prolonging the healing process.
How to Avoid ItUsing a non-comedogenic, broad-spectrum sunscreen every day is essential in any skincare routine, even for acne-prone skin. Look for formulas that won't clog pores and are designed to protect against both UVA and UVB rays. Additionally, pairing your sunscreen with Nakery Beauty's Tanning products can help you achieve a glowing, sun-kissed look without the harmful effects of UV exposure. Protecting your skin from the sun’s damaging rays is key to preventing dark spots and maintaining a healthy, radiant complexion in the long run.
Not Moisturizing After Acne Treatments
The MistakeAcne treatments often contain drying agents like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, which can strip the skin of its natural moisture. Skipping a moisturizer after applying these treatments can lead to irritation, excessive dryness, and a compromised skin barrier, which may worsen acne.
How to Avoid ItAlways follow acne treatments with a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer to restore hydration and protect the skin. Nakery Beauty’s Body Butters are the perfect solution, providing deep hydration without clogging pores. These luxurious formulations nourish and soothe, helping to restore your skin's natural moisture balance. Whether you're targeting your face or body, using a moisturizing treatment after acne care helps promote healing and prevent further breakouts. Your skincare routine should balance treatment and hydration to keep your skin feeling comfortable, healthy, and glowing.
Using Too Many Active Ingredients
The MistakeCombining multiple active ingredients like retinol, AHAs, and salicylic acid can overwhelm your skin, leading to irritation, dryness, and even more breakouts. When used in excess or without proper layering, these potent ingredients can strip the skin’s protective barrier, causing sensitivity and further disrupting your skin’s natural balance.
How to Avoid ItSimplify your routine by introducing active ingredients gradually. Start with one product containing a key ingredient and allow your skin to adjust before adding another. Nakery Beauty’s curated Skincare Bundles are designed with a harmonious selection of products that work together to treat and support your skin’s needs. These thoughtfully paired treatments ensure you’re not overloading your skin with too many actives at once. Whether you’re looking to target acne, brighten, or boost collagen, these bundles offer effective solutions that are gentle yet powerful, delivering real, lasting results without overwhelming your skin.
Ignoring Professional Treatments
The MistakeDIY skincare can only go so far. While at-home treatments are effective for many, ignoring professional advice and treatments can lead to prolonged acne struggles. Without expert guidance, you may miss underlying issues or use products that don't suit your skin type, delaying progress and exacerbating breakouts.
How to Avoid ItConsult with a dermatologist or esthetician to address stubborn acne and receive a personalized treatment plan. Professional skincare treatments can effectively target deeper concerns like cystic acne or severe scarring. Complement these treatments with Nakery Beauty’s innovative Special Care products, designed to maintain your results and support skin health at home for lasting clarity and radiance.
Using Dirty Pillowcases and Towels
The MistakeBacteria, oils, and dead skin cells on pillowcases and towels can transfer to your skin, causing breakouts. Many of us focus on the products we apply to our faces but forget that the fabrics we come in contact with daily, like pillowcases and towels, can contribute to acne. Old pillowcases harbor bacteria, sweat, and dirt that build up over time, potentially leading to clogged pores and inflammation. Similarly, using a towel that's been sitting damp in the bathroom for a while can introduce moisture and bacteria that could irritate the skin.
How to Avoid ItTo ensure you’re not accidentally sabotaging your skincare routine, change your pillowcase every few days. Opt for a fresh pillowcase made from soft materials like cotton or silk, which are gentler on the skin and less likely to cause friction or irritate active breakouts. Silk pillowcases, in particular, are beneficial because they reduce the amount of bacteria that accumulate compared to other fabrics. Additionally, keep your face towels clean and dry. A good practice is to reserve a towel specifically for your face and wash it regularly to avoid transferring oils from other areas of your body.
Using clean linens is just one part of the equation—don’t forget to stick to a consistent skincare routine as well. If you're using acne treatments, such as Skin Treatments or Spot Treatment, remember that the rest of your daily habits, including your pillowcase and towel hygiene, can support or hinder progress.
Inconsistent Skincare Habits
The MistakeSkipping steps in your skincare routine or switching products too frequently can disrupt progress and aggravate your skin. Patience is essential when treating acne, but it’s easy to get discouraged when results don’t appear overnight. Constantly changing products or omitting certain steps can disrupt the balance your skin needs to heal.
How to Avoid ItCommit to a consistent skincare regimen and give products time to work—typically 6–12 weeks. Avoid hopping from one trendy product to another without giving your current routine a fair chance. Nakery Beauty’s all-in-one Bodycare bundles and Skincare bundles make it easy to stick to a routine that delivers results. Each bundle is carefully curated with the most effective, high-quality products, such as Cleansers, Serums, and Collagen-boosting solutions, to ensure a seamless, results-driven approach. Sticking to your regimen can help you see the full potential of the active ingredients while boosting your skin’s health over time.
Focusing Only on Quick Fixes
The MistakeMany seek instant results, leading to frustration when acne doesn’t disappear overnight. With the vast amount of acne treatments available, it can be tempting to try multiple products in an attempt to speed up the process. However, acne treatments that promise quick fixes may be harsh on the skin or fail to address underlying issues, leading to further breakouts.
How to Avoid ItPatience is key when it comes to acne treatment. While some treatments, like Nakery Beauty’s Lifting and Brightening products, offer immediate benefits, others take time to show lasting results. Trust the process and prioritize long-term skin health over quick fixes. Invest in products that nourish your skin, such as Body Butters, that help restore your skin’s natural balance. It’s important to keep in mind that sustainable improvements are often the result of consistent care.
Forgetting Self-Care
The MistakeStress and neglecting self-care can take a toll on your skin, causing hormonal fluctuations that lead to acne. High levels of stress not only impact your mood and well-being, but they can also trigger breakouts by increasing cortisol levels, which, in turn, stimulates oil production in your skin. Skipping self-care rituals can worsen this cycle.
How to Avoid ItDedicate time to pampering yourself. Treat your skin and body with Nakery Beauty’s luxurious Lifting + Tightening products, which not only enhance your skin but also offer a moment of indulgence. By incorporating Lip Care, Hair Care, and moisturizing rituals into your routine, you support your skin’s natural healing process. Taking time for self-care is an essential part of acne treatment that goes beyond the surface—it nurtures both your skin and your confidence. So, take a break, relax, and let your beauty shine through.
Conclusion

Acne: Ultimate Guide to Causes, Effective Treatments, and Busting Myths
Tumblr media
Introduction Acne affects over 50 million Americans annually, making it the most common skin condition in the U.S. While often linked to adolescence, 15–30% of adults aged 20–40 also struggle with breakouts. Beyond physical symptoms, acne impacts self-esteem and mental health. This guide dives into acne’s root causes, debunks pervasive myths, and offers actionable treatments and skincare routines backed by science.
What Causes Acne? Breaking Down the Science
Acne develops when hair follicles become clogged with oil, dead skin, and bacteria. Let’s explore the key contributors:
Hyperkeratinization:Overproduction of keratin (a skin protein) and dead skin cells block pores, creating comedones (blackheads/whiteheads).Tip: Use exfoliants like salicylic acid (BHA) 2–3 times weekly to unclog pores.
Excess Sebum Production:Hormonal changes (e.g., puberty, menstrual cycles) ramp up sebum, an oily substance that feeds acne-causing bacteria.Example: Oily skin types may benefit from niacinamide, which regulates sebum.
Bacterial Overgrowth:Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) thrives in clogged pores, releasing inflammatory fatty acids.Guideline: Benzoyl peroxide (2.5–10%) kills bacteria without antibiotic resistance.
Inflammation:The immune system’s response to C. acnes causes redness and swelling.Tip: Anti-inflammatory ingredients like zinc or green tea extract can calm skin.
Hormonal Imbalances:Androgens (male hormones present in all genders) spike sebum production. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) often links to hormonal acne.Example: Birth control pills or spironolactone may help regulate hormones.
Gut Health & H. pylori:Emerging research ties gut imbalances (e.g., Helicobacter pylori infections) to severe acne. Symptoms include heartburn and bloating.Guideline: Consult a doctor for breath or stool tests if gut issues accompany acne.
Debunking 6 Common Acne Myths
Myth: “Acne is caused by dirty skin.”Truth: Over-washing strips skin’s barrier, worsening breakouts. Cleanse twice daily with a pH-balanced, fragrance-free formula.
Myth: “Only teenagers get acne.”Truth: Adult acne is rising, driven by stress, hormones, and pollution.
Myth: “Sun exposure clears acne.”Truth: UV rays temporarily reduce redness but damage skin, leading to rebound oil production. Always use non-comedogenic sunscreen.
Myth: “Chocolate and greasy foods cause acne.”Truth: No direct link exists, but high-glycemic diets (sugary snacks) may spike insulin, increasing sebum. Opt for low-glycemic foods like berries and nuts.
Myth: “Popping pimples helps them heal faster.”Truth: Picking spreads bacteria and causes scarring. Instead, apply hydrocolloid patches overnight.
Myth: “Toothpaste dries out pimples.”Truth: Toothpaste contains irritants like menthol. Use spot treatments with sulfur or tea tree oil instead.
Effective Acne Treatments: From OTC to Prescription
Topical Treatments
Retinoids (Adapalene, Tretinoin):Unclog pores and reduce inflammation. Start with adapalene 0.1% (OTC) 3x/week, gradually increasing to nightly use.Pro Tip: Apply pea-sized amounts on dry skin to minimize irritation.
Benzoyl Peroxide:Kills bacteria and reduces oil. Try a 2.5% wash for sensitive skin or 5% gel for stubborn spots.
Combination Therapy (Epiduo):Adapalene + benzoyl peroxide targets multiple causes. Studies show 80% improvement in 12 weeks.
Oral Treatments
Antibiotics (Doxycycline, Minocycline):Short-term use (3–6 months) reduces bacteria and inflammation. Pair with topical treatments to prevent resistance.
Isotretinoin (Accutane):For severe, cystic acne. Low-dose regimens (10–20mg/day) minimize side effects like dryness.
Hormonal Therapies:Spironolactone (for women) blocks androgen receptors, cutting sebum by 50–75% in 3 months.
Lifestyle & Diet
Stress Management: Cortisol spikes increase oil production. Practice yoga, meditation, or 7–9 hours of sleep nightly.
Gut Health: Prebiotics (oats, garlic) and probiotics (kefir, kimchi) support microbiome balance.
Skincare Routine Guidelines for Acne-Prone Skin
AM Routine:
Cleanse with lukewarm water and a gentle foaming cleanser.
Apply niacinamide serum to reduce oil.
Moisturize with oil-free, non-comedogenic lotion.
Finish with SPF 30+ sunscreen.
PM Routine:
Double cleanse: Start with micellar water, then a salicylic acid cleanser.
Treat with retinoids (wait 20 minutes post-cleansing).
Spot-treat with benzoyl peroxide.
Moisturize with ceramide cream.
Avoid: Heavy creams, alcohol-based toners, and physical scrubs.
When to See a Dermatologist
Seek professional help if:
OTC products fail after 8–12 weeks.
You experience painful cysts or scarring.
Acne impacts mental health.
FAQs
Q: Can drinking water clear acne? A: Hydration supports skin health but isn’t a standalone cure. Pair with topical treatments.
Q: How long does it take for acne treatments to work? A: 4–8 weeks for initial results; 3–6 months for significant improvement.
Q: Are natural remedies effective? A: Tea tree oil (5% dilution) can help mild acne, but severe cases need medical intervention.
Conclusion Acne is multifaceted, but understanding its triggers and treatments empowers you to take control. Consistency is key—stick to your routine, avoid myths, and consult a dermatologist for personalized care. Remember, clear skin is a journey, not an overnight fix.

Face Mapping For Acne
Have you ever wondered, if your pimples could talk, they could tell you what’s happening inside your body? Well, acne face mapping is one such technique that does a similar job. It can help you find out the cause of the breakouts. Ghost Zone Breakout Au
So! Danny is missing. Maybe it's a Vivisection AU and he ran away, maybe he got trapped by one of his Rogues, either way, Danny is gone and his Rogues are free to spread across the planet.
Walker in particular has an interesting adventure.
After Danny trashed his Prison and broke Wulf out, people realized that it wasn't as impenetrable as he made it out to be. And what's an army of Immortal Criminals to do when given all the time in the world? They test each and every method they can to break in or to escape.
Danny's actions caused a Domino Effect that lead to Walkers Prison being torn apart from both the inside and the outside. He lost his Territory, his Power, and most of his Guards. So he decided to start again in the Mortal Realm.
And he found the perfect New Haunt.
Arkham.
He's never seen such a sorry Prison in his AfterLife (It's an asylum). Criminals breaking in and out every other week, no prisoner staying for longer than a month at most, and nobody is doing anything to fix it.
He needs to remedy this.
So one night, he and his Army of Ghostly Guards attack the Prison. They Overshadow whatever guards are on Duty, take control of the Prison Systems, and Initiate a Total Lockdown.
Walker then sends out a Message.
"People of the Mortal Realm. I an Warden Walker, the new Head of this here little Prison. We have seen how terrible this sorry excuse for a prison is, and decided to take it upon ourselves to fix it. From now on, we will be the Guards of this Arkham. Send your prisoners here, and they will stay here. Try to break in, and you will never leave. Try to force us out, and you will join our undead Ranks. This is not a Negotiation, this is not a Request, this is an Announcement. If you have a problem with this, then I will be happy for personally meet you. I am in need of new employees after all."
After this message, many tried to stop him, but none were successful. He didn't seem to understand that a Prison is meant to hold Prisoners for a determined amount of Time, not forever. Or that it wasn't a Prison in the first place, it was an Asylum to treat the mentally ill.
The Bats could do anything either. Any time they tried to take back the prison, they were beaten back by the Possessed Guards and Ghostly Guards patrolling the grounds. And they didn't want to hurt the Hostages.
They needed a solution, so they got to digging.
Apparently they weren't the only ones who were dealing with Ghost Related Issues. All across the world, powerful Ghosts were claiming large areas of land as their new Haunts, weaker Ghosts were running Rampant in the spaces in between, and JLD was being run ragged as they tried to help wherever they could.
It was a worldwide issue, and they needed to find the Cause.
After a lengthy investigation, they found that all the Ghosts originally came from one Place. A small town in Illinois where they had been trying to break into the Mortal Realm for years, but they had been stopped by another. A Ghost who protected the Mortal Realm from the powerful Spirits of the Dead.
If they had any hope of containing this threat, they needed his help. They needed to find Phantom.

The Shadows That Nurture 27
To the đŸ”± anon I SAW YOUR ASK I'M WORKING ON IT I PROMISEEEE (I like the idea very much, thank you for putting it into my head)
My mother(and family doctor) has decided she wants to make me go see multiple doctors for various reasons- so that's why I've been late, and will be late for a bit. Nothing life-threatening, but it's been a lot of testing and running from here to there and I'll cry if I have to take another blood testđŸ„č Ch 28 may get another draft before it gets published, it's quite short but we'll see ig đŸ«

“The Jokerized Fries are the only good thing that came from the fu- ugh
” Your eyes met Oliver’s doe orbs. “
 clown
” Jason snorted, kicking your shin under the table. “Nice save.” You just kicked his shin right back, which started an under-the-table fight. “Kids, please stop it.” Nolan grumbled as he fed the toddler.
The man was stuck at the kiddie table with you, Jason, and Mark. Nolan would say it’s because he wanted to give Debbie and April a break from Oliver, but really, he was excommunicated as soon as the Sirens showed up. “Take care of your kids, actually take care of them.” Were Ivy’s words before Harley and Selina nudged Debbie and April to the closest table.
“Why was he given so many chances anyway? Why not lock him and throw away the key?” Jason’s muscles tensed at Mark’s question- the clown was still a sensitive subject. Your eyes met Jason’s before you turned to your other brother. “I wish it were that simple. But the prison gets a breakout at least once a month, no matter how much the security raises, it's really out of anybody's hands. Batman was there when The Joker, well, became The Joker. Bats thought he was the original Red Hood, so when the clown was cornered against a railing, it broke and he fell into a vat of chemical solutions.”
Jason continued where you left off. “B has been feeling guilty about it since. He won’t say so, but the way he just let the clown get away with shit when he’d otherwise be more strict had guilt written all over it.” The crime lord huffed. “Batman likes to think he’s logical. That he’s a good detective because he doesn’t let emotions sway him, but he’s only lying to himself. He is all emotions. And most of the time, he doesn’t know when to act on those emotions, so he deludes himself into thinking that it’s the logical part of his brain speaking.”
“It’s why he fucked up with me, and it’s why he puts on the Brucie persona with you.” Jason looked at you. “Everybody likes Brucie. It’s a fact. So, you must like Brucie too, even though you know that’s not him. He’s impulsive about it, thinking that just because he’s sweet now, what he did, or didn’t do, will be forgotten.”
“That’s- surprisingly sound of you, Jay.” You raised an eyebrow. “Thanks, I’m going to therapy.” He smiled, and Mark looked back at you. “Maybe you should try it.” Your head slowly turned to the young man. “I’ll go. If you go for the trauma Nolan gave you.” The named man looked at his son, eyes remorseful and ashamed. Mark looked back at his meal. “These fries are really good-“

Wayne Enterprise was losing stockholders, he should have put out a statement. Or whatever Lucius said. Bruce wasn’t really listening, he wasn’t really doing much of anything since you actually punched him. Dick would call it depression, and maybe he was, but he was also planning
What he wasn’t sure of. Whatever he came up with ended up being erratic, theoretical, fantasies of finally getting you back, and fixing what he nurtured into destruction.
It was delusion, and some part of him knew. He wasn’t completely crazy
not yet. But that was a part he was deliberately burying. After all, there must be a way- you were still his kid, you wanted his attention. The six to seven years old version of you did, at least. At that time, you had found a camera that the chubby-cheeked version of you had used to film childish recreations of fairy tales, he couldn’t even tell if they were your favorites, or if those were just the ones you had similar enough clothes for. Ileana Simziana, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood.
All because you wanted him to see what your mom did, because he missed those, and he liked going to Dick’s school recitals. They were terrible, stuttering and fumbling with the change of clothes was most of the play- and yet, at the end of it all, you were all smiles and hopeful eyes. And then it stopped, picking up again about two years later, not with videos, but photos.
He tried to rack his brain for any information on this, trying to find a memory of you shyly approaching him to show these. He couldn’t find any. Bruce didn’t know what hurt more, the possibility that you gave up on even trying or that you did try, and he simply didn’t care enough to remember it. Either way, something made you stop from even touching the camera.
The photo right after the last video wasn’t done by you, it was actually of you. Of you specifically on Harvey’s shoulders, both sides of his dual-toned hair braided, and you putting sparkly hair clips in a random pattern as both faces of the man seemed to smile unbothered. Most photos were similar, you and a rogue doing something he should have done with you- The Penguin and you having tea parties, Killer Croc looking dead as he napped with you on top of his chest, Harley doing your nails as her hyenas tried to eat your forgotten sandwich, Selina smushing your face as she pressed a kiss to your cheek, face riddled with her lip marks even Music Meister seemed to have had time for you, the photo being of you two doing some sort of karaoke to some musical.
And yet the first photo of you, looking straight at the camera for once, all he saw was
saddening. You were giving a strained smile, eyes full of confusion about why whoever was behind the camera would want a photo of you. You weren’t used to those who you deemed family wanting photos of you, that was clear the more he carried on. Bruce remembers taking photos of Dick. Of Jason and Tim, of everyone. Alfred was the same. Every time he could, he would take a photo of the kids' achievements. There were no photos of you taken by either one, and you weren’t in any family group photos. Not theirs anyway. The rogues seemed to have taken more than enough of them.
It all angered him, the guilt only fueled the emotion. His fear of pulling you into the vigilante life, of suffocating you, his want to lock you away like a precious stone, was what threw you right into heroism, and not only that, it also tricked his mind into thinking that whatever drops of attention he gave were enough. You didn’t need your anger redirected, you didn’t crave to be the next Robin, you just wanted a dad. And he couldn’t give you that because he fooled himself that you didn’t need a father when you just lost a mother.
But you needed that. You always talked about your mom, you missed her, you wanted him to act like a dad, to be there for you, to console and love you, but all he saw was himself, and when he lost his parents, all he wanted was to be alone. You weren’t him. You weren’t like him. You needed support and affection, and he didn’t see it. “But Nolan Grayson did,” something hissed at the back of his head.
Bruce’s hands clenched as his blank stare was replaced by a deep frown. The rogues saw it. Nolan Grayson saw it. Nolan fucking Grayson. The man who beat the shit out of his son, ran away and had a whole another kid with a bug alien. You deemed him a better father. That hurt more than your punch.
He got up from his office chair, his direction set in his mind like it was the only answer, the family library. He hasn’t been near it in quite a while, his paranoia and guilt were playing tricks on his mind, he was sure of it.
The family portraits in there, since you left, had felt like they’ve been staring at him, following his every move. Books kept falling at his feet, furniture kept moving and hitting him, making him trip- all, he was sure, was his subconscious fumbling the distance in space from things due to stress and a pushed sense that one of his birds was missing.
Bruce folded the round carpet that was in the middle of the room, revealing a demon trap etched into the ground. He stepped into the middle of it, and as he bent down, his lip couldn’t help but twitch. You two were more similar than either of you thought. His nails caught onto a loose plank, and lifting it up moved several others.
His hand grabbed book after book. He wasn’t sure what he was looking for, but he was sure these books will have the answer he’s looking for. The answer he wants.
✩₊˚.⋆☟⋆âș₊✧
The Sirens insisted on having some girl time, and when Roy showed up with Lian, it was set in stone. So, they pulled you, Debbie, April, and the unsuspecting girl to your room, insisting on doing some self-care and pampering, which ended up with you braiding Lian’s hair while Selina braids yours. Pamela, April, and your mom were doing an avocado mask, and Harley was happily humming as she painted Lian’s nails. “Isn’t this too many colors?” Harley laughed at the teen's question as she switched to the sixth bottle of nail polish. “There ain’t ever too many colors, honey.”
“Art would argue with that.” You huffed, tying the final French braid. “I don’t know,” Debbie muses, “Mark’s costume is
something.” Selina giggled at that. “The robin costumes are worse.” And she was immediately followed by an agreement from Harley and a snort from you.
Lian looked at the women all giggling at the pantless robin specifically, the girl smiling softly and leaning into your touch as you gently ran a hand across her back. This was nice. She loved when her dad did her hair, and with time, he has gotten better, but she wanted that with her mom. She knows Jade loves her, in her own way- and many would say that’s her only redeemable quality, not willing to give her the grace they give others- but her priorities lie somewhere else.
“Are you really not dating Deathstroke and Luthor?” Lian couldn’t help but ask for confirmation, relaxing completely when you smiled at her. “I’m not dating them, they’re just doing me a favor because Jason and I thought it’ll make the bats go crazy- which it did.”  Your smile grew into a prideful smirk, remembering the stories of Dick completely breaking down. “You say that, but you should see the way those two look at you when you’re not paying attention.” Debbie teased.
“Oh, so, every time?” Ivy couldn’t help but join. “Hey now- I pay attention-“ Selina raises an eyebrow as she quickly cuts in. “You almost walked into a pole because you saw a cat in a handbag.” Your mouth closed, argument dying in your throat as your cheeks flushed with heat. “Dad’s a real nice guy.” At Lian’s offhand comment, you turned your attention back on her, your finger gently pinching at her cheek. “I’m sure he is a great guy who doesn’t need his stellar daughter to wingman for him.”
“I said he’s a nice guy
he’s kind of hopeless when it comes to romance.” The teen’s comment got a laugh out of the older women. “Aren’t they all?” Harley jests. “Our sorceress is kind of hopeless to it too, isn’t she?” April spoke up, teasing smile on her lips. “I have no idea what you’re talking about-“ You sniff. “She’s right, gals, we’re starting to bully her-“ Selina purred. “Oh, by the way, my beloved kit, how is your crush on Wonder Woman going?” Your hand went over your heart as your mouth dropped open. “Just because I have one poster- this is Nolan all over
 Lian- back me up here-“
“You’re right, you’re right-“ The teen pats your thigh. “Oh- I always wanted to know more about your relationship with Giganta.” Your other hand went over your heart as Lian just fluttered her eyelashes up at you, the other women starting to snicker. “Traitors
 I’m surrounded by traitors.”
A knock at the door made everyone look at it, and when it opened, Two-Face got a mixed reaction of confusion and annoyance. “Switch time, come on, paternal figure and kid time.” He waved his hand for you to follow.
“Switch time? Y’all made a schedule?” You ask while getting up. “Yeah
we’ve learned to be buddies and share and all of that.” Harley rolled her eyes as she finished Lian’s nails. “Don’t worry, we’ll still be here when you get back.” Pamela reassured, redirecting Debbie worried look to the alien plant, asking what it eats.
You took the chance to follow Harvey, hooking your arm with his. He smiled as he led you downstairs to where Nolan and Mark were dressed in their nice suits, and even Oliver had his own little tux on while strapped to your dad’s chest. “Aww, look at my little man all prim and proper. So you're taking us to a nice place?” You cooed as the little guy grabbed at your fingers, nuzzling into your hand.
“Yes. And then we’ll visit Waylon and Bundy since they can’t come.” His eyebrow raised at the green light that engulfed your body and changed the pajamas to a long black dress, one similar to what he’d seen Morticia Addams wear in the many movies you were once obsessed with. “Cobblepot is waiting for us there.”
“We’re going to The Lounge?” Harvey smiled at Mark’s hidden excitement. “No. It’s not a place for babies, maybe we’ll go before you lot have to return.” Mark’s shoulders slumped as he fought a pout. “I’m still mad I can’t come-“ Jason whined, not even trying to hide his pout as Roy snickered. “If you come, the bats will for sure show up. Without you there, we get a fifty-fifty chance they won’t- no I won’t flip a coin for it, have a nice day, we’ll be back late.”
Jason’s frown deepened as he watched Two-Face usher the Graysons to the door. “Please don’t go after them. Do you really want to be blamed if Bruce does show up?” Roy nudged his friend, smiling as Jason groaned out a no.
✩₊˚.⋆☟⋆âș₊✧
Your laugh filled the otherwise empty restaurant as John Constantine shimmied himself and a chair between you and Nolan, despite having enough space anywhere else at the table. “Can’t believe I wasn’t invited-“ The blond man was cut by Mark’s snort, immediately followed by Nolan’s voice. “You’re more of a drunk uncle who only shows up when he wants something. Cecil has more of a right to your seat.” John just gave the man a look before turning his head back to you. “So- when you get home, there’s a gift waiting for you- no, not a hell hound, I’m not getting you a hell hound- it’s grimoires and other magic books, you’ll enjoy them.”
“And it was a must for you to interrupt our outing-“ John quickly interrupts Oswald, ignoring your whining about how you deserve a hellhound. “Nah, Bruce is about to show up any moment now- want to see the shit show for myself.” As the man stole Harvey’s whiskey, the doors opened, and in walked the bat himself.
“Can’t I take a break-“ You whined, your hand immediately covering your face as your elbows rested on the table. “Bruce-“ Harvey got up from his chair as both his faces showed the displeasure of seeing the bat brought. “I'm not looking for a fight-“ Bruce raised his hands in a surrendering manner before his eyes drifted back to you. “I do just want to talk.” You took the whiskey glass from John and downed it.
Oliver looked between you and Bruce as you slammed the glass down. His eyes remained on the older man’s tired face. Bruce, sensing eyes on him, turns his attention from your whining form to the toddler sitting in his highchair. As the man gives the kid a small smile, Oliver isn’t having any of it, his little face scrunching up as he points at Bruce. “Ugly.”
It takes a while for everyone to process what Oliver called the bat, but when it registers in everyone’s brain, the reactions are immediate. Bruce’s shoulders slump with defeat as you, John, and Mark completely lose it, laughing like hyenas. “Well-“ Whatever little jab Nolan wanted to give was interrupted when Oliver grabbed at his mustache. “Dada ugly too.”
The laughter only got louder. John went down, clutching his stomach while slamming his fist into the ground- you weren’t far behind, the only thing keeping you upwards was Mark shaking you as he laughed soundlessly, his face turning red. “Are you two done?” Nolan’s grumble was met with nonsensical babble, neither of his kids being able to form comprehensible sentences.
Bruce, deciding it’s a good enough time to get a distracted you to listen, gently taps your back, resulting in your hand in his as he gently pulls you away from the table. The men wanted to stop him, but knowing his history of digging his own hole, they let him take you away for a bit. “The mustache is quite ugly.” The Penguin mutters, and as Harvey hides his laugh with a cough, John lets out a sound similar to a dying cat.
You were stumbling, hitting Bruce’s arm with no real bite while your laughter left you lightheaded. “Oh, sweet Gelos-“ You sniffed, hand wiping away tears as you finally let go of the man to rest against a wall, body still shaking with giggles. And Bruce just smiled, the exhaustion fading away the more you mumbled and the more your shoulders shook with cackles and shaky breaths. He just wishes it didn’t take this long to hear you so happy. That you were laughing at something he said.
“I have so many explanations of why I did what I did.” His voice made you take in a sharp breath, any amusement dying down faster than Constantine can smoke a pack of cigarettes. “But that’s not an apology, and it doesn’t matter what I wanted to accomplish when all I did was hurt you.”  Bruce moved closer, and you pressed your back into the wall. “
 I am sorry-“
“I don’t believe you.” Your tone was even, face blank, and shoulders tense. “You weren’t sorry back then, you're only sorry now, because the public and JL members found out and it started affecting you.” Bruce didn’t expect this to be easy, to be forgiven on the spot- this isn’t a Disney movie where the toxic grandmother is forgiven with a hug. “I know
And I understand why you’d believe that. But I won’t give up. Whether or not you like it, you’re still my daughter.”
“I may as well have been an orphan. The only good thing you’ve ever done was give me access to your money.” Despite the jab and you walking away, Bruce took this as a small win- after all, he didn’t get punched or cake smashed. Small steps, he was a patient man.
✩₊˚.⋆☟⋆âș₊✧
“-and I definitely wanted to punch him again.” You finished telling Waylon what happened at dinner, your eyes drifting to Bundy, who has been frozen since Oliver decided he wanted the zombie to hold him and cuddle. “You should have,” Two-Face growled. “Have to agree. I don’t like the courage he and his birds are getting.” Nolan grumbled, his arms crossed. “He hasn’t been this sloppy since Jason died.” Waylon’s tail tapped the ground as he spoke, lost in thought.
John couldn’t agree more, the bug the man tried to plant was the most obvious thing. Too obvious. John frowned as he got up from the old armchair, walking past Mark, who was busy reading a The Walking Dead comic, straight to you. “Sorry, love.” He mumbled as he moved behind you, ignoring the conversation going on, while his hands went for your hair.
His eyes carefully moved down your strands of hair as he muttered spells, down the back of your neck, and stopping where your shoulders started. Two fingers went from the left to the right shoulder, his eyebrows furrowing while his eyes watched the tracking sigil disappear.  Seems like he’ll have to talk to the bat himself.

☟. CASUAL - YU JIMIN | main masterlist
“ Dumb love, I love being stupid “
Tumblr media
soccerplayer!reader x meangirl!karina
synopsis - at Changryeo University, Yu Jimin or just Karina is the ultimate “mean rich girl” — popular, wealthy, and always seeking ways to stay on top. After setting her sights on Sunghoon, the charming soccer captain, Karina shifts her focus to Y/N, an up-and-coming soccer star with an unexpected breakout season. Unlike the polished Sunghoon, Y/N is more of an outsider who got by on talent but doesn’t fit the typical college elite mold.
Realizing that Y/N is the only one who doesn’t care about the social hierarchy, Karina proposes a deal: they’ll fake date so Karina can boost her popularity, while Y/N gets protection from relentless attention. Reluctantly, Y/N agrees, and the two navigate a world of social manipulation, only to find that their fake relationship might lead to something more real than either expected.

part two.
part three.
part four.
part five.
ADD ONS !
Memphis
Y/N’s soccer team is gearing up for a championship match, and Karina initially shows up just to keep up the façade of their fake relationship. However, as the day unfolds, she begins to feel guilty for not being more supportive. She finds herself attending a pre-game practice, meeting Y/N's teammates, and witnessing firsthand how incredible Y/N is on the field. Karina can’t help but feel more drawn to Y/N’s passion and skill, questioning her true feelings in the process.
Hot In Here
At a chaotic university party, Karina and Y/N’s fake relationship takes an unexpected turn when alcohol blurs the line between pretense and reality, leading to a passionate, unplanned kiss that neither of them can ignore.
Drive
Late one night, Karina and Y/N take a spontaneous drive around the city, the streets quiet and empty. As the night unfolds, they talk about everything and nothing at all, the comfort of each other’s presence slowly unraveling their walls. The drive becomes a journey of rediscovery, and the connection between them deepens with every mile, leaving them both with hearts full of emotions they’re only beginning to understand.
Bed Chem
Y/N is away from campus for a travel soccer match, leaving both Y/N and Karina battling the emptiness of being apart. The distance is harder than either of them expected, and they find themselves missing each other more than they care to admit. As the nights grow lonelier, they struggle with the absence, realizing just how much their lives have intertwined and how much they crave each other’s presence.
Nervous
While studying together, Karina’s usual interruptions are starting to get on Y/N’s nerves. In an attempt to end the distractions, Y/N comes up with a simple yet effective solution—by kissing Karina. The unexpected kiss catches Karina off guard, but it has the desired effect. The playful, soft moment turns into something more intimate, leaving both of them flustered and suddenly very aware of each other in new ways.
Baby I’m Yours
Seeing how overwhelmed Y/N is with balancing soccer, studying, and the pressures of life, Karina decides to step in and offer a helping hand. She takes the time to cook Y/N’s favorite meal, creating a comforting space for them to relax and unwind. The meal becomes more than just food—it’s Karina’s way of showing how much she cares and appreciates all that Y/N does, even if it’s in her own quiet way.
Cherry Hill
After scoring the game-winning goal in the final seconds of the match, Y/N has the chance to celebrate with anyone, but instead, they make a beeline straight for Karina. It’s not the victory itself that matters most, but the way Y/N wants to share the moment with her. In that instant, Y/N realizes just how much Karina means to them, and the celebration becomes a private moment of connection and unspoken feelings.

kink: period sex
pairing: lee minho x fem!reader
wc: 2.6k
period sex: sexual activity that happens while at least one partner is menstruating or on their period.
It was the worst form of torture. Every month, your period would leave you feeling the horniest you’d ever felt, and it was even worse when you had a sex god boyfriend who would walk around looking so tasty. In all honesty, he could walk around wearing anything and it’d still have you wanting to shove your hand down your panties and get yourself off. But you couldn’t. Not while he was there, being so lovely and caring for you through the most horrible cramps you’d ever felt in your life.
“How are you feeling now, baby?” Minho murmured. You’d been laying practically on top of him, a cat shaped hot water bottle trapped between your stomachs as you half-watched the movie that was on. You’d been too horny to even pay attention to it, and you weren’t even sure what the fucking thing was called. Minho had been watching, though. He was a stranger to your internal suffering.
“I’m comfy, thanks, Min,” You replied, kissing his cheek. You didn’t miss the way the tips of his ears still burned red, even after so long. He was so cute, but you wanted his dick. Time to change the subject. “I hate cramps. They’re awful, y’know? They say dark chocolate helps.”
“Want me to get you some? I can drive to the shop,” Minho asked, his hand rubbing circles on the small of your back. You hummed, shaking your head.
“I don’t even like dark chocolate, it was just something stupid I saw years ago,” You said, and Minho chuckled, shaking his head fondly. Then, he turned to you, his eyes soft as he looked you up and down. He always looked at you like you were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen - even when you were suffering an intense period-caused acne breakout and wearing one of his t-shirts and a pair of fluffy pyjama bottoms.
“I heard something similar,” He began, biting his lip. “I heard orgasms help. Have you tried getting yourself off, baby?”
Oh, he was too sweet. Always looking for solutions to make you feel better. “Well
Min, I can’t exactly get myself off while you’re here. That’d be weird.”
“I’d love every second of it,” He was serious, but you still giggled, poking his cheek playfully. “Baby, in all seriousness, if you want me to fuck you, I will. A bit of blood will not bother me.”
You blinked, leaning up. “You’d really do that?”
Minho chuckled, kissing you chastely. “It’s blood, baby. It’s really not a big deal. I’ll lay a towel down.”
You stared at him for a moment, and he stared back, raising an eyebrow in questioning. Then, you yanked the fluffy cat hot water bottle out from between you and kissed him. He just deserved a kiss for that, but he still let out a little ‘mmph’ in shock at your boldness. “Minho,” You mumbled against his lips, and he hummed in response. “I’m so fucking horny, you don’t even understand. Every fucking period, you walk around looking so hot, and I could’ve just asked this whole time?”
“Baby, I look like this all month,” He chuckled, kissing you again. “Honestly though, yeah. You could’ve just asked, dummy.”
“Oh my God,” You sighed, curling into him more to kiss his neck. He let you mouth your way down his soft skin, and you sucked a mark into his collarbone where you knew it wouldn’t be seen. He scoffed out a laugh, his hand moving to rub over your ass instead. “Oh my God, Minho, get a fucking towel.”
He was still laughing when he stood up, shaking his head as he grabbed an old towel from his wardrobe. You belatedly realised that oh, he’d see the blood, and you were starting to feel a little less confident. When you hadn’t moved from the bed to let him lay the towel down, he tilted his head at you in confusion.
“You can’t look, okay?” You gushed, jumping up from the mattress. Minho bit his lip, hiding a laugh. You pouted, stomping your feet in a mild tantrum. “I’m going to pull my pants down, and you have to close your eyes, because there will be blood on my pad. Okay?”
“Baby,” Minho shut his eyes, shaking his head. When he opened them again, you could see the amusement in them, and it made you pout even harder. “I’d be shocked if there wasn’t blood on your pad, y’know? Given that you’re on your period.”
“Well, yeah, but still-”
“Come here,” He commanded. You couldn’t deny that tone of voice, even if you were mid-tantrum and shy. You walked over to him, and he tossed the towel onto the bed, wrapping his arm around your waist. You let him kiss down your neck like he’d done to you, biting at the skin and humming when you let out a choked noise. “I think you’re so fucking sexy, you know that?”
“You’re sexy,” You protested, and he shook his head against your skin. He pulled away from your neck, using two fingers to get you to look into his eyes. You were practically melting.
“I’m gonna get you naked the way I always do,” He said, and his tone was firm. You wanted to protest, to make a big deal, but he shook his head before you could even speak. “I’m going to get you naked the way I always do. I’m gonna take my time worshipping those tits, and then I’m going to fuck you and get you to cream nice and wet on my cock. I do not care about blood. Okay?”
You blinked. You couldn’t even argue with that, really. “Okay.”
“God, you’re so good for me, aren’t you?” He murmured, his eyes dark and staring directly into yours. “Letting me fuck you like this. What a good fucking girl, huh?”
“I need you so bad,” You whimpered, and Minho chuckled. You gasped when he wrapped his hand around your throat, a light pressure but there nonetheless, and then he was kissing you. It was different to his soft, loving kisses on the bed, his tongue demanding dominance inside your mouth and making you whine. You couldn’t protest when he ran his hands up your back underneath your shirt, and you definitely couldn’t protest when his hands gripped your ass firmly. He was such a fucking wet dream.
You watched in awe as he yanked his shirt off from behind his neck, revealing planes of milky skin and toned biceps. You didn’t even hide your gaze, your eyes running over him in delight as you felt the arousal pool in your stomach. He pushed you back against the bed, somehow landing you directly on top of the towel as he made quick work of your shirt. You weren’t wearing a bra for comfort purposes, and he made a sound akin to a growl as he saw your tits, nipples pebbled against the cold chill of the room.
“Baby, these tits,” He moaned, grabbing them both with his hands. “They’re fuller, huh?”
“It’s the period,” You gasped, letting him tweak your nipples with his fingers almost painfully. He knew how you liked it. “You like them?”
“I like them every fucking day,” He responded quickly, wrapping his lips around one of the buds and sucking. You let out a choked noise, feeling the sensitivity of them from your current state. Minho perked up, grinning. “Are they sensitive?”
“I think every part of me is fucking sensitive, God, please fuck me,” You gushed, spreading your legs and letting him get between them. Minho chuckled, letting his tongue run over your nipple again.
His fingers went to the waistband of your fluffy rabbit pyjama bottoms, playing with the fabric. He raised an eyebrow at you, and his facial expression was soft, fond. “Can I take these off, baby?”
You bit your lip. “Only if you’re sure.”
“I’m sure I want to fuck you all the time, so yes,” He said, grinning. You held your breath as he pulled your pants down, taking your underwear with them and tossing them to the floor. He hadn’t looked, and you knew he did it to make you feel comfortable. You loved him so much it made your heart swell. His eyes dragged down your body, his hand stroking softly over your tummy and eyes landing on your pussy. Oh, God. “Fucking beautiful. You’re so beautiful.”
“Can you get naked now?” You shifted impatiently. Minho smiled, nodding, and then he was pulling his own bottoms down. You were more than delighted to see he’d foregone underwear, cock springing out and looking solid. You leaned forward instantly, letting your lips brush his as you wrapped your hand round the base of his cock, the trimmed hairs tickling your skin. “This fucking cock. It’s so amazing.”
“He likes you too,” Minho mumbled against your lips, kissing them chastely. “You gonna jerk me off a bit, baby?”
You sighed. “I wanna suck it, to be honest.”
Minho shook his head, letting his hand fall to yours and moving it on his shaft. “I will cum instantly if you suck me off right now,” He admitted, leaning down to run his tongue over your nipple again. You jolted, moaning and starting to pump his cock steadily. You tightened your hand a little bit more at the tip, just the way he likes it, and his cock leaked just a bit of precum in approval. “Something about this, baby. The way you trust me so much. I think I could die.”
You giggled, moving your hands to pull him in at his waist. “I think I’ll die if you don’t fuck me. I need to cum on your cock so bad.”
“Yeah?” Minho asked, but the look on his face told you he was very aware. He positioned his cock at your pussy, letting the tip run through your folds teasingly. “I think I’ll fuck you then.”
“God, do you want me to beg?” You huffed, wrapping your legs around his waist. “I’m not above begging.”
“I know, I have you begging for it every night,” He mused, and then he was pushing inside. The stretch startled you, and you moaned loudly, making Minho chuckle. He bottomed out easily, the slide wet and your pussy more than pliant for him. You were sure your pussy was moulded to the shape of his cock at that point. “How do you want it? Tell me, baby.”
“I- oh, deep, hard?” You said, voice lilted as if it was a question. “Give it to me the way I like it, you know.”
“Yeah?” Minho asked, starting to thrust into you steadily. You moaned, clenching tight on his cock. You were so sensitive, unabashed moans and whines falling from parted lips and echoing around Minho’s room. “You want me to call you my slut, so desperate for my cock? You want me to fuck you senseless?”
“Oh, oh-” You keened, and Minho laughed, kissing your neck. His cock was solid, hard inside of you, and the way he was thrusting into you was such a smooth, slick slide that it had you wanting to cum instantly.
“Yeah, you are my slut, aren’t you?” He murmured against your skin, and when he pulled away to look at you, you were left breathless. His hair was dark, flopping over his forehead but not obscuring his beautiful features, his pouty lips parted and exposing his cute bunny teeth. They pressed at his bottom lip as he fucked into you, and when you looked into his dark, feline eyes, all you could see was love. You couldn’t help but moan, nodding. You let your fingers grip onto his biceps for stability. “I know, I know, baby. Let me take care of you.”
You gasped as he pushed his thumb into your mouth, and you were quick to suck on it dutifully, running your tongue over his digit. He pressed it in deep, swirling it around your tongue and staring at you with half-lidded eyes. You startled when he reached down, rubbing your clit with his thumb. “Min, the blood-”
“Ssh,” He urged you, shaking his head. He pushed one leg back with his other hand, letting it fall over his shoulder and fucking you deeper with his thumb massaging circles into your sensitive bud. “I know how to make this pussy cum, don’t I?”
“Yeah, yeah, you do,” You agreed, nodding. His chest pushed your thigh into your tits, leaning over you to kiss you once, filthily and deep. His thumb didn’t let up and neither did his thrusts, his cock bullying into your hole over and over and making you whine. “Jesus, Minho, your cock is fucking amazing.”
“It’s all yours, baby,” Minho’s voice was strained, hips stuttering against you. “Baby, you’re so wet, I don’t know if I can hold out.”
“Min, please,” You begged, eyes bleary. “I’m- I need to cum, Minho.”
“Fuck, fuck, yeah, I know,” He gasped, eyes rolling back into his head. It was a rare sight seeing Minho pussydrunk - he normally held out for a lot longer than you did, but clearly the added wetness on his cock was a little bit too much for him. “Feel me, baby. Focus on my cock. It’s so fucking hard for you, yeah?”
“Yeah,” You gasped, bucking your hips into his thrusts. He pinched your clit meanly, smirking when it made you squeal. Your chest heaved, a sheen of sweat forming on your skin.
“Gorgeous fucking girl. Your little pussy always needs me, kitty,” He moaned, grunting into your neck with every thrust. You were getting close, his ministrations too much to handle when combined with his filthy words. “Fuckin’ slut. My slut, yeah? Always needing me, needing my fucking cock inside of you.”
You whined, nodding. You’d started to bounce on his cock now, letting him pinch and rub your clit to send you into oblivion. “Always need it, oh, oh, Min, mean, be mean-”
“Be mean, kitty?” He scoffed. You gasped when he moved his hand from your thigh, and then he was slapping you across the face, a light slap but definitely there nonetheless. Your eyebrows furrowed, lips parting. “Got me pussydrunk, kitty. Fucking minx.”
“‘M gonna cum, Minho,” You warned, your sopping walls fluttering around his cock happily. “I’m gonna fucking cum, you’re gonna make me cum, oh-”
“Yeah?” He moaned, his noises getting higher in pitch. He was getting close. “I’m gonna cum with you. Do you want it? Do you want my cum?”
“Always want your cum, oh, breed me, Min, I’ll soak your cock-”
You let out a loud whine, digging your fingernails into his shoulders almost painfully as you came. You felt your pussy gushing on your boyfriend’s cock, soaking his length and moaning like a fucking pornstar all the way through your orgasm. Minho tensed, his hands grabbing your hips. His hips stopped completely, cock bottomed out inside you as he filled you with his cum.
He collapsed on you, his weight a welcomed addition. “I’m not g’na pull out yet ‘cause I know you’ll get shy,” He mumbled, kissing your sweaty skin. You giggled, nodding.
“Do you wanna take a bath?” You asked, running your fingers up his back.
“I can’t think of anything better, baby,” He sighed. “I said I was going to fuck you senseless but I think you’ve just fucked me.”
“On the upside, my cramps are gone,” You grinned. Minho looked up at you, kissing your nose fondly.
“Let me know if they’re back,” He said, eyes earnest. “I’ll just have to fuck you again, since you don’t like dark chocolate.”
“Really hate the stuff,” You hummed, nodding. “I like you though.”
Minho giggled, his nose scrunching up cutely. “I like you too, baby.”

Solar Return Observations 3
Accuracy influenced by entire chart
SR VENUS conjunct NATAL MERCURY
This can sometimes indicate resolving issues. Venus can offer a harmonious energy. You or someone else may effectively communicate to create solution.
House placement is important as well - EX: In 3rd, it could be with a childhood friend, siblings/cousin, neighbour. You or them could reach out to resolve past problems.
SR VENUS conjunct NATAL VENUS
In a social house like 7th, 5th, 11th, 1st, this can indicate a new romantic interest.
In 11th, 10th or 2nd this can indicate a blessing in finances, reputation, or long term goals.
In 10th, you may be promoted. You may find a new source of income. You may be better perceived. A boost in reputation or status.
In 2nd, you may purchase one or many new possession. You may find a new source of income. You may receive help in finances.
However, keep in mind entire chart influences accuracy. For example, SR VENUS conjunct NATAL VENUS in 2nd H opposite Jupiter. This can manifest as making purchases that you can’t afford. Venus can feel indulgent. If you’re not disciplined in finances, Jupiter in 8th may expand your debt/what you owe.
SR Lilith in 9th
Usually I don’t put too much focus on asteroids in SR. However, I have seen this many times in the charts of friend’s in the year they dropped out.
This can manifest as being the “outcast”. You may not feel you belong while travelling. You may feel you don’t belong while enrolled in a uni or other type of higher educational program.
SR SOUTH NODE conjunct ASC
This can result in unintentional or intentional weight loss. South Node can create decrease. In my experience, this can be a year where you focus less on yourself. You don’t even realize you aren’t getting enough sleep and/or food. Your focus is on your relationship’s with other people (romantic, business, platonic). Since SR NORTH NODE would be in 7th, this can be due to changes in relationships with others.
However, depending on your chart and personality, this could be weight gain as you do not care about your physical self. You unintentionally gain as you neglect yourself.
SR MARS IN 8th
This is can be a difficult placement. Be careful to not act on any impulsive or negative thoughts. You may experience a lot of emotional distress. Mars can be quick to act.
You may rely on other people’s finances as well. A negative manifestation of this would be stealing money or a possession from someone else.
SR Jupiter in 5th
This can indicate you or someone else is expecting a child.
You may meet new romantic interests.
You may find new hobbies. You can teach others about these hobbies/recreational activities.
The negative manifestation is you may find there is a lot of drama in your life this year. You may want to check aspects & natal jupiter placement for more insight. Example: If natal Jupiter is 10th, possibly this drama is regarding the workplace or authority figures.
SR SOUTH NODE in 12th H
This can leave you feeling mentally or physically depleted. The reasons may be unknown to you. A mystery illness. Negative emotion lurking behind you for possibly unknown reasons.
North node would be in 6th if you have this placement. This suggests you may be inspired to focus on fixing your health. You may join a gym or find other ways to be active. You may create an entirely new routine. You may get a pet to help your mental health.
A negative manifestation would be changes in daily life possibly on the job that negatively affect your mental or physical well-being.
SR MARS conjunct ASC
This can make you prone to accidents. You could develop a rash. You may find scars on your body or face. You may struggle with more frequent breakouts.
The positive manifestation is you are more energized. You could be more active this year. You could be more assertive and action orientated. This may lead to more arguments.
SR MARS conjunct MC
This can indicate your being seen as more assertive. You may go for leadership roles in the workplace. This can indicate hostility in the workplace and in regard to your reputation/status.
ex: Let’s say SR MC is conjunct URANUS & SR MARS is conjunct MC. This seriously indicates a tough work year. You may unexpectedly be fired or quit.
SR PLUTO conjunct SR VERTEX
This indicates a transformative event that is fated. This event may lead to receiving more power or status. However, if badly placed it can be a loss of power & status.
To find in which area of life it will occur, check for the house. EX:
4th H : You may move. You may experience a death in the family.
6th: You may experience the death of a pet. You may be diagnosed with an illness or disorder.
3rd: You may move neighbourhood. You may get a new vehicle. Your relationships with siblings, cousins, childhood friends and even neighbours may change.
SR Saturn conjunct Neptune
This transit will kick your ass if you have been doing any shady shit - lying, cheating, stealing, going behind people's back, etc. The consequences are unavoidable. I have seen people who have this in their SR be exposed, shamed and left.
If you aren't doing any of that, it can still be tough. You may find other's around you are exposed. They could have been going behind your back.
Depending on house & sign, the experience will force you to mature. You can get a hard reality check if you haven't been actually working toward you goals. Saturn will bring experiences that make it hard for Neptune to keep you in a dream state. Saturn wants you to create a solid plan and start working toward your dreams.

apply products to damp skin
keep skincare in the fridge
use facial ice globes in the morning
drink spearmint tea for hormonal breakouts
practice face massage techniques
lifestyle changes that transformed my skin:
drinking 2.5 liters of water daily
getting 8 hours of sleep
eating more green vegetables
reducing dairy intake
managing stress through meditation
regular exercise (the glow is real!)
weekly sheet mask sessions
common mistakes to avoid:
harsh physical scrubs
hot water on face
touching face throughout day
skipping sunscreen
trying too many new products
over-exfoliating
sleeping with makeup on
creating your skincare sanctuary:
set up a dedicated space
use pretty containers
keep tools clean
maintain a skincare journal
take progress photos
emergency skin solutions:
sudden breakout: pimple patch + ice
dehydration: layered toner method
redness: centella products
dullness: gentle aha toner
sensitivity: skip actives, focus on healing
seasonal adjustments:
spring/summer:
lighter moisturizer
higher spf
more antioxidants
gentle exfoliation
fall/winter:
richer moisturizer
facial oils
humidifier
less exfoliation
note:
consistency over complexity
patience is key
listen to your skin
what works for others might not work for you
stress shows on skin
healing takes time
skincare is self-care
personal note:
i struggled with my skin for years before realizing that gentleness and consistency matter more than expensive products or complicated routines. your skin is unique and beautiful - treat it with love and patience. some days won't be perfect, and that's okay. focus on progress, not perfection.
sending you the softest hugs đŸ€
love, mindy x
p.s. would you like a detailed post about my favorite face massage techniques? let me know in the reblogs/replies!

Jason’s comms aren’t working when he gets to the thick of the fight. Tim is facing off against some sort of discredited scientist with a fancy gun that shoots energy instead of bullets. Whoop-de-fucking-do.
The night of a fucking Arkham breakout.
Just his luck.
So Jason jumps into the fight until another fight basically crashes into them.
Jason is hiding behind cover and trying to find a clear shot when he hears it. The laughter.
He’d been doing better, controlling the pit, but suddenly it feels like green floodlights have been turned on and his vision is swirling. Someone is shouting but he can’t hear them over the kill kill kill.
There’s a sudden silence and Jason finally has a second to realize that’s not a good thing and when he looks back at the fight from behind cover he realizes that discredited crazy scientist is holding Tim with the ray gun pressed to his head and Bruce and Dick are trying to talk him down while the Joker is out cold at their feet. Nightwing is restraining him but clearly doesn’t want to take his eyes off the man holding a gun to Red Robin’s head.
Batman appears to be speaking to the man as quiet and calmly as possible. Which is of course when Mr. Discredited spots Jason and tenses all over, trying to back away.
Jason stands, but stays where he is.
Batman and Nightwing seem shocked to see him, given how they both went still when he entered their periphery, and he realizes that he’s only in a domino and Tim must’ve been too busy to convey much over the comms.
Without his vocoder, Jason asks in the closest approximation of his old Robin voice, “What’s the gun even do?”
The guy turns towards him and Jason hopes Batman is able to get closer if he’s serving as the distraction. It’s been a while since he’s tried to act out this narrative, and never while fighting down the odd echoes in his head telling him the Joker is right there and chanting kill kill kill kill.
“It’s a permanent solution! It will fix everything! If I could just prove -“
“Hey man, if you’re looking for someone to use a permanent solution on, we got a spare rogue right here? Why pick one of the Bats?”
“It’s not about them! I didn’t,” he seems to finally realize who Nightwing is restraining and says, “Jesus is that the fucking Joker?”
Alright, so Jason’s finding himself hoping the guy is better at science than his observational skills, or whatever skill level allows Tim to walk away and not end up all glowy and gone.
“Yeah man, seriously. What do you have against the Bats and not the rogues?”
“Well it’s not like I had access to Arkham! But now that you say it-“
Batman was surging forward but the gun was no longer aimed at Red Robin. The body that Nightwing had restrained was engulfed in a flash of light and then gone.
The gun was out of the man’s hands and Red Robin was stumbling towards Nightwing. Jason felt numb. Maybe he was smiling. He had no clue what his face looked like.
“What the fuck were you thinking? Do you know what you just did?”
“What? The Joker’s dead and gone - permanent solution. What’s wrong with that?”
“Hood, if you’d fucking heard Oracle over comms you’d know the man was experimenting with dimension travel! Now we have to go retrieve the fucking Joker!”
“Oh shit.”
***
In a different warehouse, in a different universe, Bruce Wayne stands alone in a room lit by a single bulb. There’s a man tied to a chair in front of him covered in blood. There are teeth on the ground.
A bloodied and stumbling man covered in white paint and an exaggerated smile flashes into the room. He’s looking about, trying to get a grasp on his surroundings. He sees Wayne and grins.
“Hello, Brucie. Fancy seeing you here!”
“How did you make it past my guards?”
“What? Oh, you’d have to ask the Bats. Seen any ultra-serious assholes in spandex come through here? Anyways, what’re you up to? Beating a man to death?”
“Getting one to talk. As I’m assuming I’ll have to make you do in a moment. Nightwing!”
The last part was a shouted order and a smiling Dick Grayson came into the room moving with the grace of a shark, fluid and predatory.
“We’ve got unexpected company. Maybe a witness. Could you take him?”
“Sure thing, Boss.”
“Nightwing? Are you telling me Nightwing is Dick Grayson? Where the hell am I?”
“You know his name?”
“Where I’m from Nightwing is one of the Bats.”
At the blank look the men’s faces he adds, “You know, the fucking vigilantes of Gotham. Running around pretending to be heroes. Batman? Nightwing? The other little birdies?”
Bruce Wayne goes rigid at the mention of others.
“What other birds?”
“Oh you know, Robin! There’s been at least three more of those goddamn brats since I killed the second one. And what a pleasure it will be to-“
He’s cut off by Dick Grayson grabbing him under the collar and hauling him off his feet.
“You ever had a crazy like this before, Boss?”
There was something cold and calculating on Bruce’s face.
“No. But I think I have an idea of where he came from. Could you pass me your piece?”
One of Dick’s hands reached behind him and removed the gun he had secured.
“You’re telling me that where you’re from you killed Robin?”
All he got was a wheeze as a response. There was a frantic look in the man’s eyes.
“Well, how fortunate you’re here now.”
There was a single, silenced, shot.
“Can you handle the body? I’m almost done here. Then we can go find the boys and update them. Take a blood sample before you’re done.”
“Sure thing. See you back at the manor.”
“Be safe, son.”

𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒆’𝒔 𝑬𝒅𝒈𝒆 ăƒ»â‚Šâœ§đŸ©¶ Part II
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing— Nicholas Chavez x Model!Reader
Summary— You’re thrusted into a PR relationship with your new neighbor, Nicholas Chavez, you’re hesitant at first not knowing how it will benefit you but you warm up to it and find out he’s not the cold and detached person the media says he is.
Warnings— Fake relationship, Fluff, Sexual Tension, Mentions of Substance Use, Smoking.
Series Masterlist
The following morning, you were up earlier than usual. The events of the past day still loomed over you, from the damaging headlines to your ex-best friend slandering your name. Thankfully, it was mostly small blogs and gossip sites spreading her story, and you were confident you’d rise above it all. The photos of you shopping downtown were taking off on social media, and for once, the narrative seemed to favor you. You just hoped Angela’s so-called plan would center on building you back up.
Determined to present your best self, you called in your stylists to give you the ultimate morning glow-up. You chose a sleek off duty model look, an oversized Chanel tweed jacket paired with high-waisted tailored shorts and classic black ballet flats. The cream and beige color palette contrasted beautifully against your dark skin, which practically shimmered under the lighting. You felt put together, and it was a good feeling—one you hadn’t experienced in weeks.
At exactly 10 a.m., Angela called to let you know she was at the gate. “By the way,” she said casually, “I’m bringing a guest.”
“A guest?” you asked, glancing at yourself in the mirror one last time. “Who?”
“You’ll see,” she replied, then hung up.
You stood in the foyer, waiting for the sound of the bell. When it came, you smoothed down your jacket and opened the door, only to freeze in surprise. Standing next to Angela was your neighbor, Nicholas Chavez, looking annoyingly polished in a leather jacket, dark jeans, and a crisp white tee that screamed effortless charm.
Angela was all business. “Morning,” she said, breezing past you into the house. Nicholas followed, offering you a small smile.
“Uh, morning,” you said, closing the door. “Why’s my neighbor your guest? Wasn’t the cake enough?”
Angela turned to you with an exasperated look. “This isn’t about the damn cake. And Nicholas, thank you for humoring us this morning,” she added, motioning for him to sit.
Nicholas smirked as he lowered himself onto your couch. “The cake was really good, by the way. Thanks again.”
You folded your arms, leaning against the armrest of the sofa. “Okay, so why is my neighbor in my house? What’s the plan here?”
Angela gave you a pointed look, as if the answer should’ve been obvious. “The plan,” she began dramatically, “is a relationship.”
You blinked, then burst into laughter, the sound echoing off your high ceilings. Angela didn’t laugh. She just stood there, unimpressed, until you finally composed yourself.
“You know I don’t do relationships,” you said, raising a brow. “What are you talking about?”
“A PR relationship,” she clarified. “Very public. Very strategic.”
You tilted your head, glancing between her and Nicholas, who was casually leaning back on your couch, arms stretched out along the cushions. “I don’t get it. Why would either of us need that?”
Angela crossed her arms. “Because you are in damage control, and Nicholas here is the perfect solution.” She gestured to him. “He’s new, popular, fresh, clean-cut. Hollywood’s golden boy in the making. A rising star who just scored a breakout role and needs the right kind of visibility to stay in the conversation. You, on the other hand, are
” She trailed off and gestured vaguely at you.
You scowled. “A supermodel? A party girl?”
“A mess,” she corrected. “A rich, famous, gorgeous mess, sure, but still a mess. The public loves a redemption arc, and this will give them one. The troubled supermodel tamed by the sweet, boy-next-door actor. It’s a PR dream.”
Nicholas finally spoke, his voice calm and low. “I’m not exactly boy-next-door, Angela.”
“Close enough,” she shot back, waving him off.
You shook your head. “This sounds ridiculous. And I don’t see how being tied to me helps him. I mean, I’m in the middle of a PR crisis.”
Angela didn’t flinch. “It helps him because you’re you. You’re a household name, a media darling, even with all the drama. Being seen with you puts Nicholas on magazine covers, gets him into rooms that will skyrocket his career. And for you, it softens your image. It shows stability, maturity, and lets people focus on something positive for once.”
Nicholas turned to you, his expression unreadable. “And for the record, I’m not opposed. If it helps both of us.”
You frowned, unsure how to respond. “And what? We just pretend to be in love?”
Angela nodded, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “Exactly. Dates, appearances together, a few staged paparazzi moments. Maybe even some cryptic Instagram posts.”
“That sounds exhausting,” you muttered.
Angela stepped closer. “It’s not forever. Just a few months. Long enough to shift the narrative. You’re already halfway there with those shopping photos from yesterday. Let’s seal the deal.”
You looked at Nicholas, who shrugged, a small smirk playing on his lips. “Could be fun,” he said lightly.
“You think this is fun?” you asked.
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “I think it’s an opportunity. For both of us. And honestly,” He paused, his eyes locking with yours. “You don’t strike me as the type to back down from a challenge.”
You rolled your eyes but felt your resolve wavering. The way Angela had laid it out, it almost made sense. And Nicholas, well, he was easy on the eyes. You could admit he was fine. If nothing else, he might distract you from the chaos for a while.
You sighed, finally throwing your hands up. “Fine. I’ll think about it.”
Angela grinned. “Good. That’s all I need for now.”
Nicholas stood, adjusting his jacket. “Let me know what you decide. I’ll be next door.”
As you walked them to the door, you couldn’t help but feel like you were being dragged into something much bigger than you anticipated.
You screamed out in frustration, the weight of Angela’s plan sinking in. You didn’t have a choice. If you didn’t make a big move to salvage your image, your agency would drop you. Bookings would dry up, shows would pass you over, and the fashion world would leave you behind. You’d be finished. And you couldn’t let that happen. You’d worked too hard to get here.
The thought of smoking on the balcony crossed your mind, but you shook it off. Paparazzi were probably camped out in the bushes beyond your gates, waiting for any misstep to capture and sell. You’d come too far to give them an easy headline. Instead, you lit up inside, taking a long drag from your joint as the familiar calm washed over you. You were making changes, after all. No hard drugs anymore, just weed. Baby steps.
The high brought clarity. A PR relationship wasn’t just an idea—it was a necessity. As much as it stung to think about Nicholas Chavez leeching off your fame, you knew it would be mutually beneficial. But still, the thought of tying yourself, even temporarily, to someone like him made your stomach twist. Sure, he was very attractive but he wasn’t in your league. You were scared of how much you’d have to give to make this work.
But it was fake. That’s what you told yourself. It was all for PR. Nothing more. Nothing less. He wouldn’t ruin your image, and you wouldn’t ruin his. It was transactional. Professional. It would be fine. Right?
You stubbed out the joint and made your way to Nicholas’ house next door. You barely had to ring the doorbell before he opened it, an actual smile lighting up his face. It threw you off. You’d never seen him smile in person or even in interviews. His reputation for playing cold, detached roles, especially after his breakout as Lyle Menendez—preceded him. Maybe Angela was right. He needed this just as much as you did.
He led you into his sleek, modern living room. The place was clean, organized, and clearly decorated by someone with taste. He motioned for you to sit, and you took a spot on the plush sofa.
“I hope you’ll be seeing more of this place,” he started, his voice smooth but slightly nervous. “And have you thought about our manager’s plan?”
You raised an eyebrow. “Wait, Angela’s your manager too?”
He nodded, and you rolled your eyes. Of course, she had orchestrated this from every angle.
You leaned back, crossing your legs. “Yeah, I’ve thought about it. I don’t have a choice, do I? It’s the best move for you.”
He looked a little taken aback, his ego clearly bruised. “For both of us, I think you’d benefit too,” he replied, his tone defensive.
You smirked, brushing him off. “Sure. But we both know you’re the one getting the most out of this. Let’s not kid ourselves.”
He let it go, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “Fine. So, are we starting this now? What’s the first move?”
His eyes flickered to your lips briefly, and you caught it. Clearing his throat, he added, “I was thinking we could stage something big to kick things off. Flowers, candles, the whole deal. I’ll set up a space, maybe on your balcony or one of your other properties, and ask you to be my girlfriend. We’ll take pictures and post them to soft-launch the relationship a few days from now but first we’ll get paparazzi to snap a few candids of us but making sure to not get my face. Just enough to get people speculating.”
Your brow arched. “You’ve really thought this through, haven’t you?”
He grinned, a hint of smugness in his expression. “Guess I’m cut out for this Hollywood life after all.”
“Or you just really want to be seen with me,” you shot back, and he laughed.
“Can you blame me? You’ve been my celebrity crush for years,” he admitted, his tone playful but honest.
You laughed, shaking your head. “Expected.”
By the time you left his house, the plan was in motion. You both snuck off to one of your properties near the beach, Nicholas’ team working quickly to decorate the space with candles, roses, and twinkling lights. You’d gone home to change into a white Chanel dress that flattered you perfectly and made your skin glow under the evening light.
Once the setup was complete, you snapped a picture, careful to keep Nicholas out of frame. The photo went into your drafts, ready to post in a few days. Before leaving, you called your paparazzi contacts, making sure they’d capture strategic shots of you on the decorated balcony with your “mystery man” in the background, his face obscured.
The photos hit the internet within hours. By the time you were back home, your phone was blowing up with texts and notifications. Every media outlet, TMZ, Page Six, even Vogue—was talking about the “romantic mystery” surrounding your evening.
You and Nicholas sat close together on your bed, scrolling through the headlines. Angela called, her voice practically buzzing through the phone.
“Congratulations, to the new couple! This was perfect. Everyone’s talking about it. I knew you could pull it off.”
“Not like I had a choice,” you muttered, rolling your eyes.
Angela laughed. “Well, keep it up. Keep the image clean. And, Nicholas, I trust you to handle this.”
“What about me?” you snapped. “Don’t you trust me?”
“Not as much as I trust him,” Angela teased before hanging up.
You scoffed, tossing your phone onto the bed. “Great. Well, since we’re here, we might as well stay the night. But stay away from the windows. Last thing we need is more candid shots.”
Nicholas nodded in agreement. “Makes sense. Where should I sleep?”
“In here,” you replied nonchalantly. “We’re going to have to share hotel rooms eventually for appearances. Might as well practice now.”
He blinked, a little surprised, but didn’t argue.
You decided to shower first, stripping out of your dress and walking into the bathroom, fully aware of his eyes on you. You smirked to yourself, knowing he was watching your naked figure from behind. When you returned, towel-clad and refreshed, he took his turn. You couldn’t help but notice his muscular back and firm figure as he disappeared into the bathroom.
By the time he returned, you were both in bed, lying on opposite sides in a comfortable silence, the glow of the TV casting soft light across the room.
Nicholas broke the quiet, turning his head to you. “Alright, girlfriend. Since we skipped the talking and dating stage, tell me about yourself.”
You chuckled, rolling onto your side to face him. “What do you want to know?”
“Everything, you can start off with your modeling career if you’d like,” he said simply. His expression was soft, genuine. For the first time, he didn’t look like the detached actor or the PR project Angela had roped you into.
And, against your better judgment, you started talking, hesitantly at first. “I started because—I wanted to feel like I was someone, like I mattered, I want to be appreciated for what I had to offer. But it wasn’t easy,” you said, your voice steady but tinged with vulnerability. “It took years of hard work, long nights, endless rejection, and now it feels like it’s all slipping through my fingers.” You swallowed hard, your chest tightening. “The scandals, the rumors, it’s like everything I built is crumbling, and the worst part is they don’t even know the real me. I’m not that person they paint me as—some careless, drug-addicted mess.”
Nicholas’ expression didn’t waver. He didn’t interrupt or glance away. Instead, he shifted slightly closer, his elbow resting on the mattress as he propped his head on his hand. “And now,” you continued, your voice breaking slightly, “I just feel like a failure. Like I’ve disappointed everyone who ever believed in me.”
He reached out, his fingers brushing lightly against your cheek as he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. The gesture was so gentle, so uncharacteristic, that it caught you off guard. You froze, your breath hitching as you stared at him, unsure of how to respond. “It’s going to be okay,” he said softly, his deep voice laced with sincerity. “You’re not what they say you are. I see you for who you really are—a hard worker, talented, smart, beautiful, and so much more. We’ll figure this out. We’ll fix your reputation together.”
Your throat tightened at his words. You didn’t know how to react—this wasn’t the detached, unfeeling Nicholas the world talked about. He was warm, reassuring, and entirely present. “Thank you,” you said quietly, your voice barely above a whisper. “You’re not like what people say you are either.” You managed a small smile. “Detached with dead eyes? Doesn’t seem to fit right now.”
He chuckled, a low, genuine sound that made your chest feel lighter. “Guess they don’t know me that well either, huh?”
You laughed softly, the tension between you easing. He hesitated for a moment before clearing his throat. “So, uh, do you maybe want to cuddle?” he asked nervously, his usual confidence replaced with uncertainty.
You raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at your lips. “Why do you wanna do that, Chavez? Ain’t no media or paparazzi in here to see what’s going on.”
He paused, his mouth twitching into an embarrassed smile. “Just practicing,” he said with a shrug.
You couldn’t help but laugh again, rolling your eyes as you shifted closer to him, resting your head against his chest. His strong arm wrapped loosely around your shoulders, and you let yourself relax, his steady heartbeat soothing you. “You’re something else,” you murmured before sleep claimed you both.
Hours later, you woke to the soft rise and fall of his chest against yours. The room was still dark, the quiet hum of waves beyond the windows faint in the background. His arms were wrapped firmly around you, his body pressing against yours in a way that felt impossibly warm and secure. You blinked groggily, realizing your legs were tangled with his, your face nestled against his chest. And then, you felt it—a firm pressure against your hip.
Your cheeks heated as you carefully shifted, trying to move without waking him. You turned away slightly, hoping to create some distance, but before you could, his arm tightened around your waist, pulling you flush against him once more. He shifted in his sleep, his breath brushing against the back of your neck as he spooned you. You froze, hyper-aware of every inch of contact, his solid frame molding against you and the unmistakable hardness pressing against you.
“It’s just—early morning wood,” you muttered quietly to yourself, trying to convince your racing thoughts to settle. “That’s all it is.” You closed your eyes, willing yourself to ignore the heat creeping up your neck. After a few moments of stillness, his steady breathing calmed you again, and you drifted off, lulled by the warmth and weight of him enveloping you.
Maybe this PR relationship thing wouldn’t be so bad, he was tolerable—just a bit, for now.

know no one else - 20k E Lan Zhan moves out, Wei Ying's boyfriend moves in. Six months later, Lan Zhan visits, they go to a party, and Wei Ying has something to tell her.
74243 this author should be studied in a lab bc these 2 fics ruined my life. a pulitzer prize short fic with immaculate tone followed by the fuck nastiest shit you will ever read. "wei ying swipes right" still a top 3 bar of all time re: fic summaries. like people died.
chef’s kiss - 6.5k E Wei Ying said, “You know, in some ways I’m kind of depressed. I took your biggest dick on my first try. Now I don’t have anything to build up to.” “There are bigger ones available,” Lan Zhan said lazily. “I can pay for express shipping.” // (Lan Zhan works the late shift.)
pull out game weak - 22.7k E Wei Ying swipes right.
plonk this is the only fic in many ways. dyke nmj's mustache academy award winning breakout role. possessive hot dyke lwj. the sentence "don't knot her you freak." have u ever seen a group chat get rabies in real time. the slut rot breached containment. it was a public health crisis. it brought back horny cinema. cultural reset.
good friends - 11.5k E “I could invite her over for when the game’s done,” Nie Mingjue offers. Lan Zhan hums, considering it. They do that sometimes. Take omegas down together.

give me one good honest kiss - 25k E The text keeps flashing over and over in Lan Zhan's head like the bulb lights on a marquee. They’d been talking about homework directly before that, swapping notes on music theory in the baroque period. Then, like a fork of lightning out of a clear blue sky: wanna practice kissing? 😚 // Wei Ying suggests an arrangement. Lan Zhan, in love, deals.
saltyfeathers ok so like sure it's ill advised to get your cartilage pierced at claire's but if you wanted the experience of participating in deranged hysteric behavior that kinda bangs in a badgood way? well then.
the mall that has it all - 8k E She introduced herself in the food court, breathless after sprinting across it in Lan Zhan’s direction and vaulting over a table only to crash into the seat across from her, ask, “Can I have a sip?”, spring forward with both elbows on the table to wrap her burgundy lips around Lan Zhan’s smoothie straw, wrinkle her nose, and say, “What is that, kale? Not really my thing, as like, a mall goth. Oh!” A pleased, chaotic exhale. “My name’s Wei Ying.” Lan Zhan said, after taking a moment to fully process the last forty-five seconds, “What?” or; mall goth au

J in the Swamp WIP
Line art for the piece I'm currently working on, plus a version of it with flat coloration, a 'filter' layer and a hastily-painted temp background. The mud squelched beneath her feet and sapped her largely-depleted energy as once more J strained already overtaxed servos to free herself. She badly needed a recharge, downtime for maintenance, a repair kit, some sort of balm for her battered body. None was to be found. She had to keep going. There was nothing more for her back there. J hazarded a glance in the direction she'd come from. She could just barely make out the lights of the manor through the nocturnal haze.
She pushed an errant strand of hair up and away from her optics and lunged forth once more. That wretched mud harried her every stride and would have proven challenge enough for her compromised state had it been the only obstacle. But that would have been letting her off too easily. Evidently, she hadn't suffered enough on this worst of all nights. Shrouded by gloom and submerged beneath the mire, innumerable rocks, vines, and roots lurked and prowled, always at the ready to spring an ambush upon her. Of course, those had all been there long before the weary intruder came dashing through, but given all that had happened -and all she was striving to keep from happening-, it was not difficult for J to feel that all of creation was against her.
She shook her head, wincing as a burst of feedback rang through her auditory processors. She would have to slot a pity party somewhere else in her schedule. It took nearly all the effort she could make to keep in place, upright (though not as much as she would like) and 'running' away (though not as quickly as she would like). Tree after tree after tree after tree. Each one a unique hazard to suck precious processing power into computing a navigation solution, yet all blending together into a hopeless labyrinth in which direction and distance led to nowhere but more of the same. The inky darkness at once surrounded her, closed in on her, and receded from her. But there wasn't the time for that.
She caught her reflection in a clear pool of water. Her top was still torn in two, exposing her gleaming (or so it normally was) chest plate. She would hardly look presentable if she arrived. When. When she arrived. But that silly little hangup was a leftover from the humans, one decidedly more pleasant than the rest of what was left of- that battle had been fought. And lost. She had barely managed to save herself. And that had yet to be secured. Best to focus on that instead. J couldn't hear her pursuer, and not just because her auditory systems sorely needed a reset. The thing clearly could track her, but she hadn't the slightest notion where it was. Despite her shambolic breakout attempt, she was still faster than it, but that would count for nothing if she meandered her way back into its clutches. Into his clutches. It was a sorry day for them all, and she at least owed him that, in defiance of That.
J kept moving forward. Another step, a misplaced foothold upon a rock, and the swamp finally felled her. She was on her knees. One hand held her up against the ground, the other kept her torso from folding over. Her systems had been jolted into a limited reset. She hoped she had enough time for a breather. A status update reported that her auditory systems were back to nominal functionality. Just in time to make out the soft sounds of something plodding through muck. He was upon her.

Before we get to the box... Here's another update from the toy box.
Combat Carl returns in TOY STORY 5, he'll be voiced by Ernie Hudson. Carl Weathers previously voiced him, but he passed away a year ago. Pixar usually nails it in casting, and that's a good get for the character(s). Will it be the same mini ones seen in TOY STORY 4? The one we met at the motel in TOY STORY OF TERROR!? Maybe all of them? A new one? Either way, you gotta have Combat Carl. He was a big part of Jessie's little arc in OF TERROR! - my favorite TOY STORY anything to have come out of this franchise since the release of the third film, and Jessie is said to be the focus of TOY STORY 5... So, makes sense!
The closer we get to the movie existing, the more trickles out.
Box office...
Third place is THE KING OF KINGS, which tracks, because it was Easter weekend. I expect a hefty drop afterwards, but the film slipped 9% and has made $45m to date here and $49m everywhere. Cost $15m to make, so I imagine a lot more Biblical animated movies will come from Angel. Complete w/ QR code PSAs trying once more to astroturf their sales!
7th place goes to GKIDS' release of COLORFUL STAGE! THE MOVIE: A MIKU WHO CAN'T SING. $2.8m from 800 locations, $10m everywhere.
New opener SNEAKS - seemingly TOY STORY but with footwear... Shoe Story... From distributor Briarcliff Entertainment, fell outside of the Top 10. Playing in around 1,500 cinemas, SNEAKS only took in $530k... Woof... My cinema didn't get the movie, and I've heard from some that it's unfortunately a misfire. It had some great people involved (Rob Edwards and Chris Jenkins directed, they have solid resumes), in fact it was almost helmed by Pixar vet and frequent Brad Bird collaborator Teddy Newton. I still await a feature film directed by him, for he was supposed to do this pretty edgy picture for Pixar that entered development around 2012, but never got formally announced by Disney or Pixar, nor went anywhere. Then he was at Paramount Animation for a bit, Warner too, hopped around some, but has never done a feature. Only his pretty solid 2D/CG hybrid Pixar short DAY & NIGHT that ran before TOY STORY 3... And also BOYS NIGHT OUT, a 2003 short that was apparently a re-cooked deleted scene from THE IRON GIANT.
Anyways, SNEAKS looks to come and go, and will rotate on a streamer somewhere.
The PRINCESS MONONOKE re-release dropped 69%, has made $17m to date, plays in 40 theaters.
THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP plays in 42 theaters, having lost 43 this week. 67% drop, $8.8m domestic / $11m worldwide.
FLOW, still floating somewhere. $26m+ worldwide. Looks like MOANA 2 and MUFASA finally packed their bags and left.
Again, it's relative quiet time until ELIO gets here, and honestly, that may be a quiet opener too. I certainly hope it's a big hit, we need to see a Pixar original/non-sequel actually make back its ridiculous budget in a post-COVID breakout era. Even a $350m-ish gross, great for a sub-$100m DreamWorks movie like THE WILD ROBOT, would be considered a failure for ELIO. $496m was called just that for ELEMENTAL. Ludicrous curve these things are graded on. The Walt Disney Company really needs to adjust to the field here.
A good solution for Disney and Pixar is to simply not blow $200m+ on these things. A sequel, maybe, but something less familiar? Nah. A lower budget doesn't HAVE to be a bad thing. In fact, one could take more risks with less, so long as it's not a crunchy production made under screwy regulations or lack thereof. (Like what happens, in say, Vancouver's animation sphere.) Think Disney Animation Florida making LILO & STITCH for $80m in comparison to the main unit in Burbank sinking $140m into TREASURE PLANET. L&S did well in theaters, exploded on home video, and is beloved to this day, TREASURE PLANET bombed hard but it did get a deserved following afterwards. I love both movies, myself.
Like, why can't Pixar - and WDAS for that matter - just have solid units outside of California making smaller, lower budget, quirkier movies that don't need to climb Mount Everest in order to turn a profit? I know why, but it's a nice thought to have.
Because this just isn't sustainable. ELIO looks to be the first Pixar original movie that is scrubbed of anything "autobiographical"... Supposedly the thing that caused SOUL, LUCA, TURNING RED, and ELEMENTAL to "flop"... Never mind that three of those movies never saw a proper theatrical release, couldn't because of a literal deadly virus... As in one that opens wide, and lasts for months...
I heard through the trenches that the original version of ELIO that was being directed by Adrian Molina mirrored what it was like for him growing up gay - a kid who feels alone on Earth and finds community with aliens... Like yeah, and that was the "autobiographical" thing that had to be pulled from the film to make it more "universal". Now, what happens if that movie fails? What are Disney bean counters going to blame it on then?
They'll come up with something. No "space movies", no "alien movies". Remember how MARS NEEDS MOMS flopping - way back in 2011 - convinced Disney heads that people won't see movies about Mars, and that lead to JOHN CARTER OF MARS losing the OF MARS? To now just being a guy's name? And then some 4 years later, Fox released THE MARTIAN - before being bought by Disney - and it did really really well? Dingus corporate stooges spending too much money on movies that they try way too hard to sand off for an audience that would probably hate it for other reasons because that's just where we are right now lol. And if those tariffs really go into affect, Disney's not gonna have the Chinese box office that they so need for a $200m+ endeavor to break even... So, yeah, as you could tell, I think Disney is stuck in a weird self-destructing cycle that someone with guts has got to break them out of. Make me the CEO, then!

Pluralistic is four
Tumblr media
I'm on tour with my new novel The Bezzle! Catch me TOMORROW in SALT LAKE CITY (Feb 21, Weller Book Works) and then SAN DIEGO (Feb 22, Mysterious Galaxy). After that, it's LA, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix and more!
Tumblr media
Four years ago, I started pluralistic.net, my post-Boing Boing, solo blog project: an ad-free, tracker-free site that anyone can republish, commercially or noncommercially. It's been a wild four years, featuring over 1,150 editions, many consisting of multiple articles:
https://pluralistic.net/2020/02/19/pluralist-19-feb-2020/
As a project, Pluralistic has been a roaring success. I've published multiple, significant "breakout" articles that popularized obscure, important, highly technical ideas, most notably "adversarial interoperability":
http://pluralistic.net/tag/adversarial-interoperability
"End-to-end" as a remedy for multiple internet ripoffs, including as a superior alternative to link-taxes as a means of saving the news industry from Big Tech predation:
https://pluralistic.net/tag/e2e/
and, of course, "enshittification":
https://pluralistic.net/tag/enshittification/
These are emblematic of the sorts of ideas that I've spent the past 20+ years trying to popularize in tech-policy debates dominated by technologically illiterate policy ideas ("abolish Section 230!") and politically illiterate technical ideas (so many to choose from, but let's just say "cryptocurrency"). They require that the reader come along for a lot of cross-disciplinary analysis that often gets deep into the weeds. These are some of the hardest ideas to convey, but nuanced proposals and critiques that work on both political and technical axes are the best hope we have of successfully weathering the polycrisis.
Blogging has always been a part of this project. For nearly 20 years, I posted nearly every day on Boing Boing – 53,906 posts in all! – taking note of everything that seemed important. Keeping a "writer's notebook" in public imposes an unbeatable rigor, since you can't slack off and leave notes so brief and cryptic that they neither lodge in your subconscious nor form a record clear enough to refer to in future. By contrast, keeping public notes produces both a subconscious, supersaturated solution of fragmentary ideas that rattle around, periodically cohering into nucleii that crystallize into full-blown ideas for stories, novels, essays, speeches and nonfiction books. What's more, those ripened ideas are supported by a searchable database of everything I've thought about the subject, often annotated by readers and other writers who've commented on the posts. I call this "The Memex Method":
https://pluralistic.net/2021/05/09/the-memex-method/
Pluralistic marks a new phase in my deployment of the Memex Method. With 50K+ notes in a database, I've gradually turned Pluralistic into a forum for far more synthetic, longer-form work that pulls on threads from decades of research into nothing in particular and everything that seemed important.
Pluralistic is also an experiment in retaining control over my destiny – but not my work. Rather than hitching my ability to reach an audience through a platform that can be enshittified at the whim of a mercurial, infantile billionaire or their venal, callous shareholders, Pluralistic is published web-first, on a site I control, and then syndicated to every platform that matters to me. It's a process called POSSE (Post Own Site, Syndicate Everywhere):
https://pluralistic.net/2021/01/13/two-decades/#hfbd
I want to spread the ideas I fight for, so I post them everywhere, and license them Creative Commons Attribution-Only, encouraging others to repost them. Lots of small sites do this, but so do large ones. Notably, Wired picked up my first breakout piece on enshittification and republished it under the CC terms:
https://www.wired.com/story/tiktok-platforms-cory-doctorow/
This was a really interesting process. On the one hand, I didn't get paid for this feature, which did really well for Wired. On the other hand, nearly 30 years of writing for Wired makes me doubtful that I could have gotten this piece out in the form it emerged, without substantially toning down (or, if you prefer, neutering) the rhetoric that made that piece more persuasive. A commissioning editor from one of the largest newspapers in the world got in touch with me after it came out and said they wished they'd published it – but also that they knew they couldn't possibly have done so. By publishing the story first on my blog, proving its audience, and establishing its canonical form, I was able to get it amplified by a service with a much bigger platform than me, without having to compromise on the form.
That republication gave me the much-maligned "exposure" – but it also carried the message to places it wouldn't have reached on its own. I don't write – have never written – solely as an income source. As both an artist and an activist, connecting with audiences has always been co-equal in my mind with earning my living. That's why I don't do a lot of film-writing: it pays well, but most of it never sees the light of day. It's also why I stopped writing for ad agencies: it paid well, but it didn't matter to me or my audience. To mangle Dr Johnson: "No man but a blockhead ever wrote solely for money."
The open nature of this blog, with its many open syndication channels, creates multidirectional pathways for evaluating and refining my attempts at making my ideas understood and my art land. My posts often circle back to points I made earlier, incorporating useful feedback from readers and colleagues, sure, but also anticipating and rebutting those areas where critics have convinced others in various forums. Vanity searching is unjustly maligned: I learn a ton about how to make by work better by lurking in Reddit comments, Hacker News, Twitter, Slashdot, Metafilter and other forums. I also take a sneaky pleasure in knowing that the persistent trolls who reliably pop up to grind their weird axes about me (sometimes referencing blog posts I made decades ago) have taught me how to neutralize them in advance, and it's delightful to see them try their same old lines, only to have other commentators point out that my latest piece makes it absolutely undeniable how wrong they are. Living well is the best revenge, indeed.
Four years. I've been writing Pluralistic for four years. During that time, I've published eight books – and beyond any doubt, Pluralistic helped me get those books into readers' hands. But far more importantly, during that time, I've written nine books – and contracted for a tenth – as the Memex Method paid off again and again.
I don't know how long I'll do Pluralistic for, but I don't foresee stopping any time soon. What's more, no matter what happens to Pluralistic, I can't ever see giving up on the Memex Method, keeping notes in public and making them work for me.
