Finished altering the dialogue from the shufflers mini game. Up next I'll be focusing on the NPCs found in and around the Honeydew Resort (Including Elsie)

Shifting so far feels like being the ultra-powerful character with great power, but no control. Things like how in Spyro: A New Beginning, Spyro more or less does things like breathe new elements, and has to sort of wrangle control over what he's acquired. It's there in him, but he needs to learn it.

I'm rambling while listening to some ambiance, trying to put my head on straight. I think I got very close once. The time where the weight and kick of dumping a magazine into a lycan startled me back to full consciousness while trying to do a lucid dreaming way of shifting... Earlier, and even still kind of now, feeling this emphasis drawn to my wrists? I need to explain.

I was made an ambient track by a partner of music, ambient noise, character dialogue, and them going about the room and doing stuff. It was made because I was so head over heels, and I used it to sleep, help with panic attacks (I have panic disorder, so my body is really good at panicking for no reason,) and otherwise just chilling out to. I really enjoy casual bondage, as just a comforting thing. I used to lay there on my side with it going and visualize so strongly that I was tied to a chair, or otherwise bound while the character simulated going about their things and occasionally talking to me that I felt some sort of emphasis drawn to my ankles and limbs. No feeling of rope, but I'd end up drawing them together like I was tied and feeling that same weird focus on them...

Well, because I know no chill (even here,) I wanted to script my first genuine shift to Resi8's general locale to start similarly to when Heisenberg drags Ethan to Miranda. So, bound and to be argued over. We like to feel special in this house, and again, I find that kind of thing exponentially comforting... Seemed natural to impliment.

It's there again. That same emphasis.

I'm realizing now I may have been shifting to Skyfall on accident this whole time... But not all the way. Just one foot in the door.

I can't hear the arguing or see the room. I can't visualize super well. My ADHD makes my mind wander too easily. I've basically been narrating things like I'm writing a novel. "I can see Alcina, although I'd need to tilt my head to see her face if I were not pretending to be asleep still." Which is also important, I've been using that as my way to try and transition. Waking up to Heisenberg winning the argument to take me with him, and being asleep only being a matter of pretending until I see my dr, or hear it, ect.

I can't get as far as before again though, where I must have been fighting a lycan or something and came back when the feeling of the hk21 or galil being dumped out woke me up again out of shock. Still, this is progress and a revelation all in one. Despite my rambling, I've been holding onto that feeling in my wrists and ankles. Please, please, pleeeease send me your good vibes and well wishes. I'd like to be somewhere else a while.

i would want more indepth familial storys about some of them like annleigh/farrah before the sleepover (like we see annleigh getting dressed that could b a longer convo about how her parents expect her to take care of farrah etc) but like with all of them

i feel like it could be similar to the carrie tv movie (which is fitting considering its an insp for the show) where it intercuts with police interviews and the whole show is basically them re-living what happened that night for their statements

ep 8 = idk and the breakdown defo possibly could go straight the end? would like to bulk out the last scene a bit with actual apologies to reese and may some grave visiting and kateva and possibly cario visiting riley in prison and also the whole police statement thing would need to be wrapped up ?? (idk why but id kinda like riley to be portrayed more sympathetic instead of “psycho killer” like she had a mental break due to the stresses of needing to be perfect n i feel like that gets overlooked sometimes)

i feel like it could be stretched to 10 eps if it was cut well

i also think there could be some well done foreshadowing but i dont know how i would impliment it atm kfdfkj but the actual show does it well anyway in the script,, possibly add some visual foreshadowing for the tv show

Win 98 Update 3

That’s right. More updates from the pit of hell called my coding. It’s now a month into 2021 and I’m still working on this thing. Tons of new things since the last update so I thought I’d give a quick few lists of progress I’ve made.

So the elephant in the room is the entirety of the Display Properties window with all of it’s glorious, glorious functionality. I’ve been working pretty hard having to redo most of the backend to get the thing to be fully functionable, but at last, here it is.

I’ve fully added functioning schemes alongside previews of said scheme, wallpapers, colours and desktop icons. I’ll be adding more specific customisation at a later date, but for the time being I’d rather keep it to the essentials while I work on other overhauls I need to progress on.

There’s a few premade schemes you can pick from and choose, and the code is really expandable as messy as it is. I literally haven’t touched HTML with JS prior to decemember so there’s probably 100 better ways to do the same thing, but I’d rather just figure out as I go along and I’ve figured I really hate Jquery. 

Schemes was the “big one” I’ve been trying hard to get out of the way for the past couple of weeks, so I’m just gonna do some quick fire features that have been added including a more indepth idea on schemes that have been added;

I added tasks and tabbing between tasks only to replace it with dynamic tasks as of yesterday, and will adjust their position according to other windows that are opened and closed instead of being predetermined.

A total of 7 schemes added, 5 themes including 2 high contrast options, 16 desktop colour options and 10 wallpapers to choose from.

Tons and tons of post formatting such as better video scaling and padding on images to be removed depending on the post type.

Posts are minimizable and maximizable alongside formatting adjustments such as scrollbars alongside tons of formatting for patch notes, permalink posts and additional well needed backend stuff for the future.

More efficent post handling and start menu handling.

I have two additional windows also currently being worked on such as Time and Date and Windows Media Player, which revolves around youtube embedding for the sake of easy implimentation.

I’ve been enjoying the process of writing HTML, but development has been taking a long time regardless of the 4-8 hours I invest daily in this thing. Who would have guessed website development took so long, huh?

Regardless, I took the past couple of days to take a break and hopefully I can get around to developing more windows now that I basically redesigned the entire logistics of the entire taskbar for a second time.

I still need to replace the infinate scroll script though.

THAT BEING SAID, heres my list of criticisms for CP2077 so far because i’m not just blindly praising it. under a readmore for a few spoilers, one major character spoiler so if you’re playing don’t read this until youre finished with act 1

this isnt bringing into the account of the criticisms console players are talking about bc im on PC, but i completely agree with frustrated console players about launch being a mess.

the fact that they cut you being able to take jackie with you to go meet with meredith is really frustrating. i wonder if they lost time and it broke something because it was in the gameplay demo from a while back.

on the same vein, t-bugs ‘death’ was so sudden and fast that i didn’t even register it as her supposedly dying until v brings it up later in the level. i thought she had just gotten hurt and booted from the program. if she’s actually dead i’m going to be incredibly disappointed and its going to be one of my few genuine sour notes on the game.

the romances are laughably inserted and shouldn’t have even been part of marketing in my opinion. from my understanding it looks like they’re all sidequests and there’s only like four of them total anyways. dont bother if your v isnt into one of the two options they have and just pretend youre kissin whoever you want lol

takemuras introduction was amazing but i feel like i missed a dialog somewhere that explained why he ended up getting chased by arasaka so fast after the events of act 1. i know his motivation but am a little confused about whats going on.

in the same vein, some optional dialog choices don’t actually feel optional if you don’t want to feel like you’re missing context for whats going on. i don’t mean this in a lore way, i mean this in a basic narrative way. 

i like that v clearly has their own personality that you kinda tweak and manipulate through your own actions, like with geralt in the witcher series. however i completely understand if people were lead to believe they’d be getting COMPLETE FREEDOM and are let down by the reality of V being a slightly less mailable character. as someone who likes witcher and the dragon age and mass effect series i’m okay with my oc having a pre-ordained personality but marketing could easily have misled people to believe otherwise and thats a totally valid complaint.

i love jackie to DEATH and hes one of the most likable videogame characters ever. however i do wonder sometimes if he suffers from ‘bilingual people don’t talk like that’ syndrome. it can get kinda muddy given how translators work in this universe.

in the same vein i think some of the calls for the game being transphobic or misogynist are overblown but i feel like part of it is the game might not be properly relaying that the overly sexual, violent, objectifying advertisements in 2077 is actually part of the lore and not CD trying to be cheeky ala Saints Row. Its a crit on consumerism and how desensitized the populace of the future gets to hatred, violence, and sex that it has to be overblown to the point of ludicracy. it might not translate for someone who hasn’t taken the time to look into the lore or familarize themselves with the vibe of the series before picking up the game. YES it is incredibly gritty and dark, but thats the point. However I think that fact needed to be communicated better because it just won’t be palatable for some people. Its stuff like this that makes me think we really need content warnings ALA fanfic for... all media, really. its a good idea. i could see the ‘fuckable piece of meat’ line being genuinely terrifying for some people and it comes out of nowhere. I like dark media and content but i don’t know if the game properly conveys beforehand that this is a BLEAK. world. BLEAK. 

i also think, unfortunately, its clear the team was crunched and ran out of time for a lot of things they wanted to add into the game. i feel like tying gender to v’s voice was the most elegant solution they had considering all of the voicelines in game. not saying it’s the best solution, but i’m glad they did that rather than tie it to body type or genetalia.

that being said i wish you could have a biotic pussy or dick in this game just bc that would be some cool transhumanism. same in general i wish you could replace limbs or eventually get more cyberware options that changed how you look.

I’m glad they’re gonna fix the epilepsy trigger but I’m also surprised and disappointed no one caught that might be a problem earlier on. I wonder what play testing was like.

Also glad the dev team isnt going to be treated like the new vegas team and they’re getting their bonus regardless of the game’s review score. that’s some stupid bullshit but every publisher does that shit unfortunately.

the fact you cant change your makeup, cybernetics, or hair after the start is dumb and i hope they fix that.

the c key being for crouching AND skipping dialogue is inelegant to say the least. you can fix it in settings for skipping dialogue to be ‘hold c’ but it shouldn’t have been an issue in the first place.

ai definitely wasnt finished and it shows. largely in how theres clearly no AI driving and how cops feel half-implimented.

managing stash is CONFUSING. so is the hacking minigame until you get used to it.

it is a LITTLE apparent that you’re going to go into Cutscene Time because characters tell you to sit somewhere specific. However once you’re in those locked scenes the game is still super immersive and beautiful so it’s not too bad.

i don’t understand why youd buy a car when you have one already and a motorcycle but i’ll still probably shop around for funsies

combat definitely feels floaty but ive played bethesda games and nothing can be as bad as those so its fine for me.

Yeah, I know, ANOTHER story, but I've actually had this one lying around on my netbook for a few years and ended up writing it again when I had time to after the recent tornado blew our huge cedar tree down and knocked out the internet for a week.

I have most, if not all, of this one planned out. It's just a matter of getting my shit straight and writing for all of my stories consistently. I need to learn to stop abusing italics, too. Oops.

I'm going to try to not use gender-specific pronouns so more people can be included in the Void Dad love :)

Decided to compile these asks to show my process with a drawing, hopefully it's helpful. Gonna number and explain these pics 1-8, going left to right, cause mobiles butt (warning long post) (1) I usually dont go into a drawing with a pose in mind already, but once i draw the head, i decide on how i want the body placed (2) After that i mess around on what i want the limbs to be doing, it's always good to make each one do something different, even slighty. If you want poses to pop more keep both sides of the drawing asymetrical (3) Once i figure out where i want the limbs put i make em thicc. Where you put the hands and feet are important too (hand could be clentched, opened, doing peace sign, ect. Feet angles can change a lot too) (4) Once i get an idea on how the drawing is shaping up i decide on a face. Expression can be divided by the eyes, brows, and mouth. Mix and match it to see what sticks with you (i also dont recommend coloring rn, like i what i did with the eyes and nose there. We're still gonna erase some stuff later) (5) Then i put the clothes on him, dudes naked. I press slightly harder on my pen here so the lines for the clothes take more priority, you can barely notice the sketch under it now. Make sure the clothes go around the pose you make so you get an idea on how everything is positioned (6) Now everythings in place, i press harder on my pencil again, letting all the lines i want take priority. So far nothing in this drawing has been erased, but you can barely see the sketch under it anymore. But we need to tidy up (7) The reason you wanna draw lightly at first is to erase the sketch lines later. So just start erasing gently. Dont worry about accidentally erasing parts you wanted to keep, you can just redraw it later. (8) Aaaaand it's finished. I cleaned up the lines and added some finishing touhes with coloring the outfit and such. Some extra tips: - If the pose is the main focus of your drawing, try and make sure it has a nice silhouette. A good pose is something you can identify just with it's figure. You dont always have to do this but it's something to keep in mind sometimes. I think back to almost all the recent smash bros and pokemon trainer model art as example. A lot of those characters really pop there. - Learn some basic anatomy. Whether for a human, animal, or whatever, knowing how your drawing is shaped gives you more room to mess with poses. You'll also be able to draw them faster in the long run too - Exaggerate more, especially if your drawings are on the more cartoony side. Always try and find ways to curve and bend your character around, if that makes sense. - Look at refs. If you see a piece of art you like, really try and pin point parts you like about it, and impliment it in your own art. Maybe you like how they draw a cloths wrinkles, or the hair, or arm angle, ect. Even look at the mirror if you need specific angles if you need to. Its amazing how much of the little details go a long way. - Constantly try out different poses. It's my secret to drawing filbert so much, just draw him doing something different everytime lol. But always try and learn something new. Draw em sitting down, leaning on a table, just anything that pushes you into draw them in different way. And again use refs if you need them. So anyway i hope this can help some of you, this may not work with every art style out there but hopefully it can give sone insight. And @ryodarocker give yourself some credit, you've come a long way with your art! You should be proud of all the progress you made, and good luck~

Its similar to how those american blender sink trash shredder things scared me until i learned it has safety to detect if a hand is near it. I didnt kniw the technology was that complex so i was quite worried! And i feel like that would probably make it too expensive to be implimented commonly in the uk. We kinda have a lack of space so new houses are always being put up and theyre generally quite small and basic. I dont think building companies in general wouod agree to changing the default requirements to include 'luxuries' like complex safety plug sockets or a sink shredder that isnt horribly made and deadly. So even if they were introduced to britain theyd probably be a luxury for higher income families. I mean ive even heard that pay-as-you-go electricity isnt common in america?? Like EVERYONE has the pay monthly version?? The one that cant just be automatically turned off as soon as your payment is overdue by even one single second?? And they dont have 'standing charge premium' where if you dont use enough electricity to meet the company's predictions they charge you extra until youre paying the same anyway? That fuckin sucks ans i am PRAISING THE JEEBUS that my new house is fancy enough to have the proper pay for what you actually use version.its so insidious how poor people literally have to pay more! And you have to drive long distances to find very specific shops that let you pay the thing, and theres always a bunch of frustrating rules about what payment methods you can use and they also close at like 4pm. Man SO MANY times ive had my electricity looking totally fine and then BAM STANDING CHARGE its all gone all of a sudden and i have to walk miles in the pitch black 2am to find the one singular 24 hour garage in st mellons that does electric paypoints. Seriously the whole concept of a standing charge makes me wanna stab someone, its like a loitering fine for plugs! 'youve been trying to save money by using less electricity than you need, HOW DARE YOU'. Or eveb just 'you are one person in this house but our records are outdated and everyone in the street gets treated as a 4 person family so we say youre using too little'. And even if you start using the reccommended amount they never remove the standing charge, once youve got it its just forever unless yoy switch electricitu providers and pay to get the box changed. Also sometimes the box is in a really annoying place! I had to go outside into the garden to use mine and my sister had it indoors but it was so high up on the wall she had to go on her boyfriend's shoulders. And cos its just How Its Done they never do anything to change it and any supposed attempt tp change it is just making the same broken system slightly easier rather than addressing the actual problem. "Now you can get one of our Smart Meters that let you pay your pay as you go electricity via debit card and give yoy a notification when you get a standing charge!" Yes but CAN I JUST NOT HAVE THE STANDING CHARGE GEEZ?? It kinda reminds me of how my american friends tell me that welfare works over there? Food cards that can only be used in certain stores on certain stuff and its all abritrary and awkward for no damn reason. Here you just.. Get the money. And you spend it like money. Not that food card things dont exist but they are very rare emergency things that you generally only get given if you applied for benefits on short notice or theres some other issue preventing you from just getting it sent to your bank in actual cash form. Not that there arent also shitloads of annoying ways they try and push people out of gettibg benefits that they need, in the name of 'preventing fraud' when fraud has never even totalled even 1% of all welfare recipients and the goddamn 'fraud protection' takes more government money than actually givibg benefits to everyone wjo needs it. AKA Insult The Audience and Characters While Wasting Time

i’ve been thinking about the world of remnant series and how they could have implemented that worldbuilding into the series proper. here’s a few ideas

Which are all just the same version of “one guy asks another guy for exposition” same as literally every other show in existence which WOR is able to subvert and avoid the pitfalls of the ordinary exposition.

dust: the story literally opens in a dust shop. show ruby buying some, having a chat with the shop owner. “is this for raw use, miss, or ammunition?” “yeah, it’s for my baby.” “your baby?” “the scythe” etc. if you actually need us to know the history of its use and how humanity doesn’t know where it came from, give it to us in one of port’s lectures. we don’t have to hear the whole thing; just a couple of key lines, then it fades into background noise as jaune starts hitting on weiss again or some shit because that’s apparently more important than establishing your lore

Except why would Port or anyone be teaching them such basic elements of dust when they are already in an advanced school for this sort of thing and thus would have already had this drilled into their skulls years ago? That’s insulting to the characters for thinking hey are that stupid and insulting to the audience for believing we wouldn’t catch onto that. Also, i guess you’re fine with a shit ton of flaws in the animation since they had to waste time getting lines for the teachers and the students as well as animating all of that. Unless you want to nix a fight scene or a plot point because RWBY is already stretched for time as it is.

kingdoms: did we even need this one? the show already tells us there are four kingdoms called atlas, mistral, vacuo and vale, that atlas is militaristic, that huntsmen academies train huntsmen (no shit) and that life outside the borders is dangerous. see, they know how to do it already!

Except we don’t know WHY Atlas is built that way, we know nothing about Mistral Vale of Vacuo, we don’t know why their actions of treating Huntsmen like soldiers is so looked down upon and why peopel are so on edge with them. That excludes a lot of the tiny details that really enrich the lore such as Atlas having risen up from the snow to become the new captial of the Kingdom or how Vacuo has a different morality than the other two kingdoms due to the harshness of their area. COngrats, you wasted time and money for a much worse, more boring, more drap version of what we already got.

grimm: instead of starting with the dust shop scene, start with some redshirt nomads. one complains that he doesn’t feel safe travelling at night, another makes fun of him, they start arguing, someone else steps in and tells them to shut up because fear and anger will draw the grimm, which it does. if it’s important to know that they don’t attack animals, show some animals, which the grimm ignore after killing all the humans. the shit about older grimm getting smarter is already in the show, the shit about them evaporating when they die is in the show, and the shit it being impossible to keep them captive is contradicted by the show

Okay then, fork over about a thousand dollars to cover the cost of the voice acting and animation. or better yet, do it yourself so that the CRWBY don’t have to stretch themselves out even further. Oh, and listen as the fans complain on and on about there being no new episodes or anything because there is no WOR to tide them over, thus weakening their suspension of disbelief, thus forcing you to maker more detailed lore, thus more time, more gaps, more annoyance and so on until the show is dead.

aura: this is all in the show already. pyrrha gives jaune a hamfisted exposition dump about aura that he shouldn’t need.

Except what exactly it is, what it does, what Sembelnces are, the types of Sembelnces asd well as build up for Salem.

vytal festival: work the origins of the festival into ozpin’s speech instead of that stupid attempt at explaining the colour names

The listen as people bitch on and on about the color names as well as the info they will inevitably forget about since that means they’ll get it a whole yera before needed. Also, that takes longer so cough up more money or time or have a shitter product.

huntsmen: nothing of substance here that we didn’t already know

Except that Huntsmen aren’t the noible heroes that we see which helps ease people into the tonal shift of Volume 3 as well as humanizing the product.

ccts: look, let’s be honest. the only reason this is here is to explain why cinder’s plan is going to work. like, was there even the slightest question about what was going to happen when they ended the episode with “if one tower goes down then they all do”

the point is, it shouldn’t be so difficult to hint at what the villain is up to that you have to shove it into a side series. just stop having your villain be vague as fuck about everything for the sake of cultivating mystique

Then spend an entire season having the villain detail every single step of their plan with the complexities and all the twists and see if there are still people around. Also, that doesn’t explain why the CCT is so important so you still have to do that so fork over more money or time.

four maidens: this is more of a standalone short than supplemental infodumping, so i dunno if it should count. not that it would matter anyway because the maidens subplot already comes out of fucking nowhere

So9 impliment it into the story which already has fast pace for no reason, kill the pacing and the mood as well as remove the story book element about them. Ah yes, because one minute of dialogue to segway into a plotline can  be cut out and around ten minutes of exposition about fanaus history, biology and interactions with the humans can be shoved into that space. Except no, it can’t be so that’s more money and/or time you must be willing to give up to add in what no one asked for. As well as teh all teh angry fans who will yell at you for thinking they were stupid enough to think the characters didn’t know that as well as making all the characters into people with the memory of a fruit fly.

schnee dust company: i feel like this could have been a character moment for weiss. she probably never met nicholas. the only sdc she’s lived with is the one run by jacques. finding out that it was once an honest business run by a good, brave man could be a big turning point for her. “i want to be out there overseeing expeditions like granddad did. i want to change this company back to what it was.” and bam. now being a hunter isn’t just about annoying daddy anymore

Except that why she would even fight against her father in the first place, why she would consider the schhnee name noble at all or how she would miss all this, make the plot hole with her mother even fucking bigger than before, makes Weiss look like an idiot for not looking into her family’s past and, again, kills her motivation so we have a walking contradiction in the show as a main character.

And that’s not even getting into how there are some people who PREFER WOR over ordinary exposition.and thus changing that pisses them off as well as kills the pacing of RWBY. Thus changing something for an, at bets, equal result as before.

Implementing Minimalism!

I have done so much since the last post!! My new thing is decluttering. I am trying to downsize by 80-90%, which is actually a TON of work. Going through and trashing everything /sounds/ easy, but it's actually really physically exhausting. I think I'm finally building up my back muscles though! 💪 So... a list of things I am working on/ have done: 1. I finally read the book about the "konmari method" of decluttering and found it pretty inspiring! I've actually pretty much followed those rules without meaning to (no wonder people kept recommending that book to me!), but in the past, I'd just chuck things if I didn't use them, joy-bringing or not, which made me sad until I forgot about it. Now, it's about bringing joy into my life in everything I own. For example, I found a vintage muffin pan at a used bookstore today. Looking at it just makes me smile!Now, I'm free to get rid of my nasty old ones and the bad memories of the giver with them. :) 2. I am working on minimizing my spice collection. I already downsized, but holy Jesus I do not need to have a basket overflowing with spices. I cook for TWO-- really, ONE now with Damion off trucking, not 12. I was having trouble picking the ones I would keep, so I picked an arbitrary number of spices I would allow myself. So, I picked 10, not including salt/pepper. Then, I asked Damion to choose the 10... because I got all, "ohhh!! Curry!! I love Indian food!! Remember that one time I had... " etc, so I was just unable to make a rational decision. He picked: *garlic salt *lemon pepper *parsley *basil *oregano *nutmeg *paprika *cinnamon *cloves *ginger I felt that this list was pretty comprehensive, so I went out and bought little magnetic tins for those suckers ($3 a piece!!) so that in the tiny house I can stick them on a strip or the fridge. For now, they will live in the junk drawer (once I eliminate it:)). 3. I started a secret garden:3 but, what's new about my gardening philosophy is that I'm only growing the stuff I'll actually use (other than my flowers:>). Most of my space is in part shade, so I'm mostly doing herbs: basil, parsley... Basically, my goal is to get everything on the herb list above growing! I also got mint and chamomile cause I love those teas. 😍 I did run into a problem here though: while in the herb section, I found rosemary and cilantro. :/ I started remembering how delicious they are, and how we do use them frequently. Then, I saw lavender, which is my herb weakness. It just smells soooo good, and the flowers are so pretty! I don't use it though, which makes it a "clutter" purchase... and that freaked me out so bad, I put back my rosemary and cilantro too and left that area immediately! They are mentally "on hold" until I have decided what to do. I know I probably won't get the lavender (until I can find a legit reason to justify it), but idk if I'll add the two useful herbs to my 10 (making 12 total) or if I'll cut off paprika and some other spice. But, chiliiiii!! And, damion didn't even list chilli pepper already! I really suck at minimizing spices, obviously. The $3/ magnetic spice tin cost does help motivate me a little, though. :) 4. I have started downsizing, so my house is easier to clean. Above all, I am a lazy person. Less dishes = less doing dishes, so I tossed them all and am now using two each of my inheritance plates, bowls and serving bowls (also used as mixing bowls). I think of my wonderful grandma, RIP, each time I see them now, and so eating gives me the feels 💖 I think about her almost every day now and it makes me happy. :> I downgraded Damion's and my clothing (Damion participated via Skype). I already had downsized into about... 3/4 large drawers with no hanging items, but they were crammed in. I thought I was done, but then I had a thought: "Katrina. You are lazy. It's going to suck when you inevitably put off your laundry and have to do it all at once!" ... So, I posted a question in the minimalist group I'm a part of and decided on 3/4 loads of laundry total. That's the most laundry in a row I am willing to do, including sheets and pillowcases, towels and washcloths. So, I got rid of everything else. :> I went through my clothes konmari style and eliminated, motivated by easier cleaning. Dammit, I want to be the type of person who washes their sheets every week! So, I got rid of stuff, separating it into selling (via consignment), donate and trash piles. I downsized to a roughly 2 week supply of stuff. Together, including linens, I only have 3.5 loads of laundry:D! Perfect for lazy Katrina, especially with my mother in law's awesome fancy big wash machine;) I now have: Linens: *8 washcloths, for face washing and exfoliation. *1 microfiber cloth, in danger of being tossed, because I HATE the texture of microfiber but appreciate its usefulness *3 towels: 1 hugeeee, and the two softest towels *1 set of fitted/flat sheets, because I won't wash them if I have more than one. *8 pillowcases: 4 normal, gray everyday pillowcases and 2 normal blue ones, for if I had a guest, idk. Plus 2 purty ones. What can I say? They bring me joy. Typing this though, maybe I should downsize more though, 8 is a bit excessive for 2 people with 4 pillows 😂 Clothing: I'll have to post about later, because my method is so involved. But, basically, everything I have matches everything else. It's all color theory and flattering fits. I plan to have excessive amounts of undies, though, because I like to change them a lot :> But, I'm only keeping 4 bras. 1 t-shirt bra, 1 convertible fancy schmancy bra, 1 sessy sessy bra ;D and 1 sports bra comfy bra thing. I love bras, but I always default to two or three anyway. My "color scheme" thing for my undies (ONLY undies, my outside clothes have a much more defined pallet) is that my bras are pretty plain/neutral, but I can get whatever panties in whatever color I want. :3 So, I am still free to indulge my love of undies and still have order :3 Last thing on implementing minimalism: I am in progress of minimizing my cleaning supply collection. I realllllly want to be earth friendly, but my cleaning stuff does not reflect that. It's all super harsh chemicals, because in the past, I was messy. I AM messy, but now my house is halfway optimized for cleaning, so it's a LOT easier for messy Katrina to keep my (her? Lol) house not clean, but within-30-minutes-of-non-rushed-cleaning clean. :D Anyways, before I had to have the harsh stuff because when I cleaned, I REALLY felt that bleach/ harsh chemicals were necessary in order to make up for the month and a half of no cleaning (wish I were joking 😂). Now that my house is easier to clean, I don't need those crazy chemicals. Except bleach, because after all, I do own chickens. I'm looking into doing my own cleaning supplies mostly: nothing crazy or complicated (I still have to cater toward lazy Katrina), but just things like vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda... etc. I still have to come up with eco friendly replacements for two things though: disinfectant wipes and the toilet wand... thingy. For the disinfectant wipes, I know that I could make my own, but it does make more laundry, and more laundry lowers the success rate of keeping my house clean. Plus, how would I keep the rags secured in sanitizing fluid without it disintegrating the rags? Or does a regular, non-bleach formula not do that? No idea. Also, I'll need to figure out how many wipes I need for a two week period, which will be tough, because I don't clean every day consistently. The toilet wand solution is harder for me though, so input would be much appreciated. I CANNOT stand the normal toilet scrubber thingies. They just don't seem sanitary, even if you keep them in cleaning liquid. Plus, they just inspire me to use copious, embarrassing amounts of straight bleach in order to sanitize, which defeats the eco friendly purpose anyway. Anyway, I discovered those toilet wands about a year ago and I haven't gone back! The wands detach from the scrubby pad, and you toss the scrubby in the trash can (because the flushable wipes suck for hard cleaning), and that's IT. You keep the nice, clean wand and get another the next time. These are also really convenient (new xD) for scrubbing my bath tub, I have discovered recently. No ridiculous hand scrubber and bleach everywhere, just this presoaked scrubber that gets everything up. It doesn't even have a chance to hurt my back, it's so fast!! Obviously, though, this is hugely irresponsible for the earth, even if they are disgusting. :( I have come up with an idea to somehow get a reusable sponge attached to the end of one of those sticks, and dropping them immediately in some dirty cleaning items container (cause they would have to be separate from clothing/linens, other than possibly disinfectant wipes) so that they could later be sanitized. But, that sounds like a lot of work, and I already hate sponges. I threw mine away in favor of those ikea scrubbing brushes :> anyway, the only way I can think to impliment this idea is to use the scrubbing bubbles version of the wand (I have both already), which has a tong-like opening for its pads. But, I don't really care for that wand. The clorox one if much more ergonomic and very sturdy, which is critical for seldom-cleaning Katrina. Also, if I'm going to have to sanitize them anyway, doesn't that defeat the whole "earth friendly" purpose? Or, could I boil them, or would that ruin the material of both the disinfectant rags / scrubbers? And, the biggest question: would I actually do it? So, yeah, basically, I need a separable toilet cleaning brush, with an ergonomic handle and a sturdy brush-to-wand attachment, with a viable, super easy way of sanitizing the brush/scrubby bit, preferably something that could be done with the disinfectant wipes too at the same time. Is that too much to ask? XD I really would love to hear suggestions though. Anyway, that's basically where I'm at right now in minimizing. I'll leave you with something a Minimalism group member said to me, to address my regrets at filling the landfills with my unused junk: either way, the earth suffers. Keeping items you don't want/need in your house doesn't save them. The only solution is being mindful about what you buy and what you support to begin with. 🌎🌳💚 This quote has helped me tremendously, as I was pretty much unknowingly using my earth-friendly side to justify holding onto items that really needed to move on. Thanks for showing up dumbass. Your presence and your type of thinking in that server is like a tumor, do you realize that? You’re a spineless liar if you think a member saying they were leaving is “strongarming” someone, and those mods are truly either desperate or foolish to keep you in there. No wonder people are uncomfortable with the environment in there – you and other active users have a habit of distorting any disagreement into violent persecution while pretending everything on your side is completely “valid” and brave.

I’m allowed to stay because i don’t break rules. Even now, this isn’t breaking rules. I rarely interact with minors in the server unless they directly talk to me first. But please go off about how I’m terrible for thinking that demanding a mod force someone to stop unhealthy coping, and cropping that out is bad.

My claim that rules are more heavily enforced is directly addressing the fact that i have gotten in trouble for things i legit forget. Ie. THe server does not allow the word b*tch. So often i’ll type “bitching about’ and get a warning from dyno. Thats p fucking strict. I’ve also phrased things v poorly, and been told to either delete the message or clarification, I often opt to EDIT THE INFORMATION because I know exclus will screenshot the bad one, and not the new one. Recently a rule has been implimented for triggers, telling us that server anouncemnts will be modifed with new triggers/squick as they appear. Now if you have issues with these instances of rules, please go take that up with the mods.

Now, as for your screenshot, yes, I did tell them to archive it, and how I’ve both handled people baying for blood over the art of 2 ocs in a server in the past. I locked the channel, put an NSFW ban in place, and then *archived them* something I’m surprised you are more grateful for. Considering not only would archiving the channel would keep the good advice (ie yes use lube, do not use soap like in fanfic etc.) along with the bad that yall screenshotted before.

There is no pretending. I genuinely believe it or not, believe in being nice to just about everyone I come across. Then there's last year where someone decided to doxx a bunch of discords and said “Btw I did this bc uwuw you don’t edit screenshots” it took two weeks to give or take for mods to come to a verdict on what to do. So they made the rule that screenshots may not have their og username in them. Based on this, alone, i suspect the nsfw channels and sex ed might not be reopened for a similar period of time until the mods make new rules and clarify old ones.

It’s irrelevant and maybe even suspicious for you to bring up the wrongdoings of people who are completely unrelated to this situation. You’re already deflecting onto other people, offering no evidence of the “context,” and bitching on behalf of the mods. If you were in any way committed to safety or improving the situation, you wouldn’t be bringing up random people and downplaying things you obviously witnessed.

Funfact i did not, and still don’t know what agere is. Now i will say my stance on cgl is that its not for me. I don’t like it, i don’t want to hear about it. In this a user tries to suggest the mods have a moral obligation to inform someone its “unhealthy” when mods point out that no they do not, but nor do they allow users to go off telling everyone “Oh cgl is a great coping mechinism you should do it to.”

Mods again emphasizing that you can find the policy changes since the messages have changed. Because that is important. They confined this to other channels. Why they didn’t delete the information in sexed, i can’t actually say one way or another. They might have kept it because they believe in mistakes of that caliber being left alone. But you also have no evidence for why they kept the og messages.

But the reason, i consider what herpcourse did lying by omission, is herpcourse led you to believe the above screenshots were out in the open. The ones i just posted happened in some random channel. They did not, they happened in an age locked channel. That only adults are in. And mods are under no obligation to 1) be your personal therapist, 2) nor are they obligated to go “uwu reminder cgl in all situations no matter what is disgusting you dirties” because doing so is preformative. One of the mods is squicked by it just like me. But please go off about how admitting past mistakes happened, refusing to performatively disown something, and refusing to tell anyone who mentions it in the age locked channels is actually gross and unhealthy when you know nothing about them is bad.

The mods are not level-headed and not passive when they actually care and think they have control. They’re cowardly, that’s the difference. They literally got more mad over someone making fun of one of their icons and a minor saying genuine trauma with the q slur is possible.

I don’t expect them to be 100% level headed. I’d honestly be kinda upset if they didn’t display emotions when shit like this happens. But please give me a source on the icon thing (which btw, no you shouldn’t make fun of people, period) and for the minor saying ‘queer can have trauma’ bc I do think it can. But if you join fya, you can’t request it be tagged as qlur. Because there is a lot o discussion not only of queer as a personal identity but also queer as a history. I highly doubt there’s any reason for them to have changed, considering the execrable atmosphere in that server, so here’s a screenshot of one mod (toytulini) going Karen mode along with a bunch of other 20+ year olds while the minor they were targeting tried to defuse the situation as mentioned above.

What is the context? Bc i legit don't’ see any. I see them arguing, btu about what, I don’t know, if i  was involved myself, I do not remember. So again, not much of a smoking gun. It looks like they were trying to get someone to actually *understand* what was being said, but that wasn’t appearing to happen. But again, missing context such as what the argument was about, why that started, so on so forth. also if the person was told not to argue there, yeah, they should have moved it. as per server rules, there are channels to argue in, that wasn’t one. So no matter the context, if they were breaking rules, and did not move when requested, yes, they should be given a ban based on whatever the conversation topic was.

(shakes tin can) spare npc grian lore, cent?

ah FUCK yeah okay so

according to the one hour build swap with taurtis, grian was trying to summon the ultimate builder via a spell he found. it involved using a formation of rustic houses. so npg is grian-confirmed to be a demon. however, he’s also supposed to be a robot???? there’s an intro clip grian did once where he was working on npg like a robot, and npg has said stuff like “this is not in my code,” so like... i derive from that.

anyway onto headcanon land:

-grian’s original Ultimate Building robot was a complete failure. theoretically, it was great— it had everything grian knew about building coded in, and it was physically very capable of carrying through, but it had no ai. it couldn’t identify what kind of build would look best where, it couldn’t account for location or terraforming, it couldn’t understand any flexibility and would simply leave gaps in builds if the designated block was unavaiable. it couldn’t learn. then, one way or another, he stumbled across the summoning thing. he used it and the empty vessel of npg to create a consciousness (unfortunately... well, it didn’t exactly work out)

- physically, npg is uncanny. he looks just enough like grian to catch you off-guard, but the differences are unsettling once you start to notice. just the slightest hint that he’s made of metal with a grian disguise plastered on top. he’s a tiny bit larger, more imposing, capable. his facial expression is almost static. it’s a constant grin— time to learn how to build a rustic house :) !— but sometimes you can see the demon in his eyes, in the slight strain of his smile. real grian has blemishes and scars and even a bit of discoloration— he’s very alive. npg doesn’t have any of that. he’s almost a “perfect” version of grian, or what you could imagine grian thinks would be a better version. stronger, scarless, all smooth skin and intimidation.

- his mannerisms are off putting as well. grian is clumsy but he moved smoothly, animated and with lots of personality. npg is jerky, limited, too slow and observant with the ability to move just too fast. it’s almost like how hermits like biffa or doc move. however, npg never fully did learn how to, well, learn. not in practical ways. so his movements are just as calculated and unnatural as they were the first time he stood, never having the capabilities to adapt and learn naturality. overall, it’s easy to mistake him for grian at first glance, but the longer you look...

- that is, excluding the wings. grian has wings— complex and delicate insect wings. of course, those are new upon his arrival at hermitcraft. npg out dates them. grian wishes he could take comfort in the fact that he can fly and npg can’t, but the thing somehow has levitation abilities. grian knows he didn’t impliment anything that should allow npg to hover as he does, but ever since he summoned npg’s consciousness, well, a lot has changed.

- (sorry to focus SO MUCH on how npg looks but) it’s pretty easy to see that he’s largely a robot. his charging port/power button is located on the back of his neck for easy access. his pupils are obviously camera lenses if you look closely. even more obvious is that grian never bothered to put a “skin” over the areas covered by clothes— everywhere excluding his neck, head, and forearms are exclusively mechanical.

- grian is 100% afraid of npg. he bosses npg around and shoves him in closets, but sometimes npg disobeys and it makes grian nervous. he knows npg is built to be stronger and faster than himself, and he knows absolutely nothing about whatever the fuck is inside the “vessel.” it’s not terrifying, per se, since it seems that the thing is just really into rustic houses, but it is a little nerve wracking whenever he just finds npg’s closet empty. anyone else who’s met npg either thinks he’s adorable or legitimately horrifying. no in between.
