I know a lot of times we work out the "everyone has to start from scratch at the beginning of the season" in fic with like, "you can't take anything from the old world with you/only a few special things in your ender chest" etc... But I also love the idea of hermits with just... old stuff. Grian wearing an old Mumbo For Mayor shirt that's a little sweatstained and faded while he's doing the grunt work of sorting all his stuff into the new storage building. Cub flipping through albums of polaroids of all his old bases. Beef hanging framed album covers on the walls of his base. Pearl sifting through a little trinket box that hold things like "a rock from that hole where Gem and I first spawned in" and a miniature jackolantern that still glimmers a little bit, even if the enchantment is flaking off in places. Tango's bunny slippers getting worn out holes in the heels and he just patches them because they're too cozy to get rid of. Impulse still probably has a box of test candy bars laying around somewhere and every time he finds them again he makes note to get rid of them because there's no way they're still any good but he always forgets.

For anyone not watching Doc's stream right now, we just had a category 5 containment breach. Iskall has browsed tumblr and can't understand our lingo. Doc keeps mentioning 'a lewd story about me and Ren in the woods'. If it's particularly weird it gets shared in the hermitcraft discord. God help us.

I love the “Mumbo’s some kind of supernatural creature” headcanons, and I love the “Mumbo’s just a guy” headcanons, but may I propose: “everyone thinks Mumbo is some sort of creature thing but he’s actually just a bit strange”

“His eyes are so red they basically glow!” My guy inhales enough redstone to power a small machine on the daily.

“He’s nocturnal! He’s always up at night!” Insomnia.

“It’s like he teleports! He just appears behind people” he’s just naturally very quiet and people don’t hear him walking up.

“He knows so many random facts, there has to have been around for ages to learn all that” he’s just a nerd.

Mumbo gets nervous anytime someone tries to interrogate him, making the hermits even more suspicious, but in actuality he’s just worried they’ll be disappointed and he’s starting to realise they probably won’t believe him no matter what answer he gives.

There’s a server-wide bet going for who can figure out what he actually is. Grian, who’s known him for years and knows full well that’s he’s 100% mortal and human, shows up and starts egging the hermits on by “dropping hints” as to what he may be, much to Mumbo’s dismay. Grian thinks the bet is utterly hilarious.

The reason cTommy’s death and revival was good was because it a) made the concept of true revival a genuinely awful thing to happen to a person in a way that few media does (all I can think of is Buffy, tbh) and b) it forced cTommy and therefore the audience to confront the false mourning that people had for him. They didn’t like him alive. They didn’t help him. But when he died everyone put down flowers or built statues because now he was a martyr and could be misconstrued into a perfect victim. Shit that happens all the fucking time in real life. Idk that shit was just so messed up. I’ll carry ctommy with me forever no matter what Yknow
