Tl;dr: A Pomeranian was left alone with a keyboard and made an entire original story happen with a good friend, as well as a page to explain it, but still has a few more updates to make blogwide about it~!

Long version: It's not the memes I mentioned, and I still have a bunch of places around my blog that needs updating still to be brought into line with all the new info so still more updates to come, but I've gone and added a new page to this blog: A rundown on key plot, terms, and factions involved with Halcyon Era, as well as a listing of the blogs and muses affected by it between myself and Kasa's blogs~! It's a temporary page for the time being, and exists to fill in gaps in information and offer more to anyone interested - A more basic version of the writeblr we're still working on and have been for several months, but has, unfortunately, taken a back seat to dealing with our respective burnouts and frustrating and mentally draining offline lives, and at current has temporary graphics until we're able to actually sit down and work out an overall logo and logos for the various groups involved in the plotline.

Available on this page is the basic story of the actual era of Halcyon itself, and what ultimately causes the problems and conflicts that follow the characters involved through their various lifetimes and worlds they find themselves in, as well as a 'Groups and Factions' listing that explains the various Halcynian species and holds a small list of those who fall under that particular group, their original roles during Halcyon, and any key note to their current status that might be important (I.e. Sera being listed underneath the Fenix section due to her being a Snow Fenix, but also noted as sealed and living as a 'human'). There's also a Key Terms section, defining various important terms that come up quite a bit or are key to certain muses and their stories, and a blog listing to note the blogs - and which muses are on which blogs - heavily involved in Halcyon.

This page is eternally under construction, however! This is only a temporary page while we sort things out and continue to plot out and understand more of the overall story and how characters fit into it, and will only have the most bare bones info to fill in those gaps just enough to help it make sense to anyone reading it, especially considering this is the canonical backstory, albeit a very distant but still important one, for most of the muses involved, twice as much my own. It can and will be edited to reflect changes as we decide on them until we can finish the writeblr, and like all things on my blogs, I'll be noting when these changes happen, and what they are.

This story also applies overall to the muses; How exactly is noted in their own respective abouts and blogs, but Kasa and I view every verse we have on our blogs as another life for the muses, and each setting as another world/version of the planet that has risen since Halcyon's fall, all taking place on the same planet and under the watchful eye of the same skies, rising and falling over several millions of years with a definitive start and end that rolls into the next, traveling on their own path until that end comes. The actual era of Halcyon and its following world of Somnium Crystallum is a closed world, and will only be written between Kasa and I; all other verses are still open to anyone to interact with, with Spellbound being the most current/modern/etec version of the world.

I'm not sure if this is actually helpful to anyone visiting my blog in understanding Sera and her story any better, but this project has been one of the things keeping me from burning out completely, and I love it dearly and look to this page (and the upcoming writeblr!) as a means of logging its development and various twists and turns, so it's definitely going to get some updates - And I hope is helpful to understanding Sera and my other muses~! <3

i love it when characters are codependent. i love it when losing someone feels like losing a limb. i love it when two people "complete" each other so wholly and terribly that one can barely function without the other. i love it when the fear of losing the only person who understands them is so all-consuming they'll destroy anything to stay together, including themselves.

Astarion’s first impressions of my tav Cain, because playing a good aligned paladin with a charlatan background is really, truly, deeply hilarious. I loved lying at every possible opportunity to make my life easier. I wish there wasn’t a cap on inspiration points because I was getting it left and right from cain and astarion combined.

God this panel kinda drives me crazy. From Batman & the Outsiders #17, Shiva asks Duke about his suit, whether it was his choice. And how does Duke respond? He... doesn't. He parrots what is clearly something Bruce said to him, but never clarifies whether it was 'his choice' at all. Because both him and Shiva know it wasn't. And he acknowledges that his suit, with all the Batty-ness (ears, symbol), was specifically designed to make him like Batman.

Then Shiva suggests dark red, which is what Duke wore in We Are Robin and has connotations to Robin as a whole. Duke's reaction - can we let it go? - can be read in many ways, but to me it suggests Shiva's words hit home. He does miss the Robin colours. Becoming the Signal wasn't his choice, but becoming Robin was.

(And throughout this run, Shiva says both Cass and Duke are being held back by Bruce. With Cass this is a clear allusion to being Orphan over Batgirl, so it's not farfetched to read this conversation as being about how Duke was denied Robin to become Signal).

Duke-as-Signal is a symbol of 'people like Batman', but Duke-as-Robin was a symbol of youth, of community, of diversity and of choice. He was a Robin formed without Batman. I know there's no going back, but having Bruce choose the name, the suit, and the time of day that Duke goes out makes the Signal such a fraught identity. I love the yellow, the suit, and the daytime aspect, but I just wish they were Duke's choices, not Bruce's.
