Woche 2 - Märkte und Uni

Es ist wieder Mittwoch. Jetzt bin ich schon eine Woche hier. Ich habe wieder frei und bin wie immer etwas planlos, was ich mit meiner ganzen Freizeit machen soll. Man darf immer noch nicht im Meer baden, ich habe kein Fahrrad oder Auto um mich fortzubewegen und ich weiß nicht, ob jemand Zeit hat, etwas mit mir zu unternehmen. Es gibt ein hippes Café in Le Port namens Origami, also entschließe ich mich, einen Spaziergang dorthin zu machen. Je öfter ich die 20 Minuten in das Stadtzentrum zu Fuß gehen, desto kürzer wirken sie auf mich. Langsam fühle ich mich auch sicherer und nicht mehr so beobachtet. Ich trinke einen Latte Macchiato, froid, avec lait végétal. Mein Französisch ist sehr fehlerhaft, aber ich kann bestellen und bezahlen. Mein Buch das ich fast lese, ist schon bald zu Ende. Ich hoffe, ich kann irgendwo englische Bücher kaufen.

Am nächsten Tag wache ich sehr früh auf. Eigentlich wache ich jeden Tag sehr früh auf. Um 6 Uhr wird es hell und auf der Straße vor meinem Fenster laut. Ich entscheide mich dazu, meinen Morgen zu nutzen und gehe Joggen. Solange die Sonne noch hinter den Bergen ist, ist es noch nicht zu heiß. Ich laufe die mir vertraute Straße zum Cap Sacré-Coeur entlang. Nach 3 km bin ich wieder zuhause und völlig verschwitzt. Das nächste Mal laufe ich vielleicht weiter. 

Danach geht es in die Uni. Wir haben ein Fach namens Transition environnementale. Wie kann man Gebäude nachhaltig bauen und an Zyklone und hohe Temperaturen anpassen. Ich versuche, dem Gespräch zwischen unserer Lehrerin und meinen Mitstudierenden zu folgen. Das was ich verstehe, wirkt sehr banal auf mich und ich bin etwas verwirrt, warum wir nach über zwei Jahren Studium über Albedo und CO2 Ausstoß reden. Danach haben wir die Aufgabe in Gruppen Referate vorzubereiten. Unser Thema ist der Außenbereich von Häusern. Ich arbeite für mich alleine, da die anderen auf Französisch miteinander sprechen. Ich habe langsam das Gefühl, dass es für alle nervig ist, mit mir auf englisch zu reden.

Obwohl mich die Uni etwas langweilt, vergeht meine erste Woche dort sehr schnell und es ist schon Freitag. Wieder zu früh aufwachen, zu Fuß zur Uni, etwas verspätet dort ankommen. Unpünktlich zu sein, ist hier aber kein Problem, denn das sind alle. Auch die Lehrerin ist noch nicht da, deshalb verlassen wir das Gebäude wieder und gehen auf einen Markt. Dort gibt es zwischen Palmen einen Obststand nach dem nächsten. Wir kaufen uns mit meinem Geld Avocados und Drachenfrüchte. Das Obst essen wir zurück in der Uni. Ich finde die roten und weißen sehr lecker und nehme mir vor, öfter Obst und Gemüse auf Märkten zu kaufen.

Der Tag zieht sich sehr. Wir arbeiten die ganze Zeit selbstständig an unserem Projekt. Wir sollen 3 Din A3 Blätter für die Analyse füllen, aber meine Gruppenmitglieder wollen sehr viele Pläne zeichnen. Bei mir ist irgendwann die Luft raus und ich will eigentlich nicht mehr bleiben. Manche gehen auch schon früher oder sind nur am Handy. Aber unsere Lehrerin ist die ganze Zeit da und im Stundenplant steht, dass wir das Fach bis abends haben. Nach 9 Stunden im gleichen Raum gehen wir endlich nach Hause und das Wochenende beginnt.

Abends fahre ich mit Salomé zu einer Bar in Boucan Canot. Wir trinken alkoholfreie Cocktails und unterhalten uns auf Englisch und Französisch. Zwei Mitstudierende von mir bringend mich nach Hause, da Salomé bei ihrem Freund schläft. Immer wieder bin ich erstaunt, wie nett alle sind und mich einfach so überall mit hinnehmen.

Ich schlafe am Samstag nicht aus, denn ich will einen frühen Bus nehmen, um mich um 10 Uhr in Saint-Leu mit Zoe und Leo zu treffen. Ich laufe eine halbe Stunde zur Bushaltestelle, um nicht umsteigen zu müssen. Auf der Busfahrt läuft anfangs alles gut, ein paarmal schreit die Fahrerin etwas unverständliches nach hinten. Ich ignoriere Sie. Das letzte Mal hätte ich sie nicht ignorieren sollen, denn nur drei Stopps vor meinem Ziel drehen wir um, fahren auf die Autobahn und sind plötzlich bei der Endstation, die viel weiter im Süden liegt, als ich sein wollte. Es ist mittlerweile halb zwölf. Ich steige aus, rufe Zoe und Leo an. Sie machen sich auf den Weg zu mir. Solange ich auf sie warte, gehe ich in einen Biosupermarkt. Eine Flasche Limonade kostet 5€, ein Müsliriegel 4€. So viel kostet hier also gute Qualität. 

Etwas verspätet schaffen wir es dann doch noch auf den Markt, trinken frisch gepressten Saft, bummeln und essen Samoussas. In einem Restaurant essen wir Burger und Bowls, dann gehts in den nächsten Ort auf ein Eis und noch nach Le Port für ein Getränk. Le Farniente.

In den nächsten Morgen starte ich wieder mit einem Markt, dieses Mal in l’Hermitage und mit der Uni Freundesgruppe meiner Mitbewohnerin. Eigentlich sollte es eine Überraschungsgeburtstagsfeier für Maya sein, aber die ist müde und ist deshalb nicht dabei. Nachdem sich die Hälfte von uns eine Schale voller Stücke Obst gekauft hat, fahren wir an den Strand. Es ist erst neun Uhr morgens, deshalb ist es in der Sonne noch sehr angenehm. Ich gehe zum ersten Mal auf der Insel ins Meer. Das Wasser ist warm, aber angenehm. Am Strand plaudere ich mit meinen Mitstudierenden, aber nach einer Stunde fahren wir schon wieder, da unser Fahrer Enzo nach Hause will. Ich bin etwas enttäuscht, da ich mich auf einen ganzen Strandtag eingestellt habe, aber so läuft das mit Fahrgemeinschaften und ich bin einfach nur froh, dass ich mitgenommen werde.

Um meine frisch gewonnene Meeressehnsucht zu befriedigen, treffe ich mich nachmittags wieder mit Zoe und Leo. Dieses Mal fahre ich selbst. Salomé hat mir angeboten, ihr Auto zu nehmen. Ich habe die ganze Zeit Angst, die Straßenregeln zu missachten oder das Auto kaputt zu machen, aber ich komme gut am Strand an. Leider können wir wieder nur kurz am Strand liegen, da es plötzlich anfängt, sehr stark zu regnen. Wir packen unsere Taschen und gehen zu einem Cafe. Nach einer Portion Pommes machen wir uns auf den Weg in den Süden zur Bar BDF in l’Etag-Salé. Dort Essen wir Pizza, tanzen und schauen einer Trommelband mit Afrikanischer Musik zu.

Am Montag habe ich wieder Uni. Ich nehme an einem Fach namens Société et Architecture teil. Es ist sehr interessant, da es mich stark an meine Soziologievorlesungen in Stuttgart erinnert. Doch leider verstehe ich nur wenig von dem Gesprochenem und versuch anhand der PowerPoint das Besprochene nachvollziehen zu können. Die Lehrerin sagt mir, ich könne die Klausur am Ende auf Englisch schreiben. Trotzdem bin ich mir unsicher, ob ich den Stoff dafür verstehen werde. Ich überlege immer stärker, das Studium so minimal wie möglich zu gestalten und nur die allernötigsten Kurse zu wählen. Das würde dieses Fach nicht beinhalten.

Am Nachmittag haben wir die zweite und letzte Stunde des Fachs Transition environnementale. Wir präsentieren unser Referat. Ich habe mir meinen Text mit ChatGPT auf Französisch vorbereitet. Unter dem Vorlesen merke ich, dass plötzlich alle ihre leisen Gespräche eingestellt haben um mir zuzuhören. Nachdem ich fertig bin, klatschen alle. Mich französisch sprechen zu hören, hat wohl niemand erwartet.

Am nächsten Tag bin ich wieder nur in der Uni. Wir arbeiten aber selbstständig und ich finde das Arbeitsklima sehr angenehm. Ich verbringe zwar meine Mittagspause alleine und rede nur mit meiner Gruppe, fühle mich aber trotzdem sehr wohl und aufgehoben.

Dieses positive Gefühl kann ich nach den ersten Wochen neben der Uni auch für meine Unterkunft und le Port sagen. Ich fühle mich zuhause und nicht mehr unwohl. Gerade sind meine Eltern im Flugzeug auf dem Weg zu mir, morgen kommen sie an. Ich freue mich sehr, sie zu sehen und mit Ihnen die Insel zu erkunden.

Nastya has very light skin and long brown hair tied back in a ponytail. She has blue eyes and embroidered silver glasses. She wears a light blue shirt, a long black coat with gold buttons, and black pants with black boots.

The Toy Soldier looks like it does in the first two photos.

Marius von Raum has light brown skin, short, brown, curly hair, and brown eyes. He is wearing a red shirt with a long, green coat over it. His pants are grey and his shoes are brown. His left arm and hand are grey and red. Across his chest he wears a red sash.

HERE THEY ARE!! this was SO much fun i can’t wait to do this again. thank you SO much to everybody who came and drew! also very nice that it took maybe a minute and a half to two minutes before the catboys started. i definitely recommend, especially for the first one, viewing the full image and taking a couple minutes scrolling through everything.
