Mipha's Grace is now ready!

After long last I can finally say the mod I've been tinkering away slowly at for the last few years now has an initial release!

Mipha's Grace is an overhaul of the BOTW experience placing Mipha as the main character. With a text overhaul, multiple armors, custom animations and the first WIP custom ragdoll in the BOTW community and much more, Mipha's Grace has a little bit of everything when it comes to a character replacement mod.

I owe so much to the BOTW modding and Mipha community over the years for their support and knowledge to get this mod running.

roms megathread (ssa wii u internet archive download) (may require cdecrypt if not downloading roms through usbhelper) dolphin wiki + download rpcs3 wiki + download cemu wiki + download zadig (if using a real portal. i know dolphin and rpcs3 have portal emulation, unsure with cemu) prototype builds: giants builds (useful info), ssa xpec builds, swap force build, superchargers build

will update if i get any more information. feel free to add anything additional info based on stuff i've toyed with (i don't know my specs): > you may need to allow a usb passthrough in dolphin, it's in the config > as stated on the wikis, cemu requires updating the usb input driver while dolphin requires zadig to have it changed to a libusb/winusb driver (either work about half the time. technology moment). the portal is under spyro porta. i recommend having separate portals for cemu and dolphin so you don't need to mess with drivers > i used vulkan graphics for cemu and default for dolphin. i'm not a tech guy though so just play with whatever works best ig i just use default settings. portal compatability guide > for dolphin gif making, i used 8x msaa anti aliasing and had the internal resolution as 1920x1080. for the most part it ran average on a half dead computer from 2015. i'd recommend 1280x720 w/ no or minimal anti aliasing though > ssa and giants' main gameplay both ran mostly fine with vbi skip on (though i haven't checked heroic challenges) with occasional drops to 12fps, only superchargers racing's first cup and parts of the second have been tested > never used rpcs3 and i don't know if citra can run skylanders games, until i learn more it'll be absent > swap force is pretty broken on cemu, lawl > ir sensors for dolphin will need to be configured if using something like an xbox controller, have relative input on so the cursor doesn't snap back to the middle > ssa and giants can lag often and being in the ruins starting from around the middle part of the game will be noticeably slower. co-op is very slow. cemu handles co-op great though and generally is pretty fast > if you wanna play online with a friend, get parsec > if not using the console's controller type, i'd recommend just using your own controls rather than setting them to whatever makes sense (like having the trigger be your primary instead of something like A w/ an xbox controller) > if the game lags hard enough your skylander might disconnect for a sec (only experienced in giants when recording with obs). pausing the game for a couple seconds if having lag usually fixes it > dolphin games run fine when being recorded w/ obs or streamed on discord. haven't checked cemu yet > cutscenes in dolphin always have a weird like. screen tearing? thing? as far as i know there's no way to fix it, but they play fine besides that > newer (experimental) versions of cemu seem to break with skylanders >if you're getting wii u roms from the internet archive you'll need to get cdecrypt. its newest release is super easy to use (drag the rom folder onto it and it'll do everything for you, thank god) >dolphin is the only emulator with freecam >superchargers racing was buggy on both computers i got it on. 2015 pc wouldn't launch it and my 2022 laptop disconnects the portal after every race, requiring the game to be restarted >cemu would crash after doing about two races (updated 31/8/2024. added another piece of info)

Something fun I did during my time away was... I finally played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild!

Before I had only ever watched my brother play the game when it originally launched in 2017, but never had much of an interest to play it myself. After all the hype of Tears of the Kingdom upon its release back in May of 2023, I finally decided to give BotW a shot and I am so glad I did.

It definitely plays a lot different from classic 3D Zelda games, but it's a lot of fun. Main story felt weak having everything merely be flashbacks, but getting lost in the immersion while exploring the world was the highlight for me.

Cemu Emulator + Mods!

I played the Wii U version on PC via the Cemu emulator and installed a couple of mods throughout my playthrough. Mainly the Linkle mod and tried a few different music overhauls. Man, I wish Nintendo would just release PC ports. Modding games is so much fun haha. Makes the whole experience customizable and enjoyable.

Big fan of the Linkle mod. I know she's not an official Zelda character, more of a Koei Tecmo OC, but the mod is very cute. I appreciate how it affects NPCs and has them react to you being a girl, even goes as far as making her Link's sister for the story.

Co-op Mod

This game would've been an 11/10 if Nintendo officially made it 2-player co-op, so I could've played it with my brother with him as Link and me as Linkle. But it seems fan's have already got the co-op aspect down already haha. Very buggy, but playing with my bro as two Links was a blast!

Tears of the Kingdom

I did try Tears of the Kingdom too, but didn't get very far myself. I did see the entire game through my brother's playthrough and played his save a couple of times. Wasn't terribly impressed from my time with the game. Had some cool elements, but I think I prefer BotW more over TotK. Will have to give it another try sometime... maybe once the Linkle mod is out hahaha.

Emulating Zelda Botw has been a blast but seeing how changing Link's gender affects the sexuality of some characters was really funny. It makes alot of the interactions with women alot gayer, in a good way

YES HELLO can anyone who knows things about cemu/emulators help me. i am on my hands and knees

so basically im playing mario kart 8 and 6 cups are entirely missing- im unable to click on them at all, and can only play the 2 regular and 4 dlc cups. these cups seem to be working perfectly fine about 8 or so characters are also missing, and their icons just have the little "?" image on top of them. some vehicles are missing too im pretty sure i have all the updates and also the dlc downloaded- idk what ive done wrong, as this is my first time using cemu 💀 anyone know whats up??

This is blowing up (?) Im gonna use it as an opportunity to share the link to the version of Cemu (Wii U emulator) built specifically for playing Skylanders games. It has a virtual portal function so you can play the game without any accesories but you can still plug in a portal and use real figures. It also gets around Superchargers and Imaginators trying to connect to internet servers and breaking on normal Cemu. It is still getting updated to this day.

It’s so hard to introduce anyone to skylanders and be taken seriously because no matter how hard you try to explain the details of the world building and story every piece of official lore is written like circus clown slam poetry

My camera's not perfect for capturing the difference of enabling Auto HDR (enabling it doubles the overall brightness), but messing with it in Mario Kart 8 has to be one of the Surface Pro's best new features.
