People who only hear about ComicCon for TV and movie reasons:
"No writers? No actors? There is NOTHING LEFT. ComicCon is DEAD."
Locals who don't even have tickets and go downtown for the Vibe:

#i am going to drink hipster beer on a replica 16th century tall ship while wearing a lupin iii costume#they're gonna have junji ito at the central library#the UT has an 'a to z at comiccon' article and when the strike was announced they only had to swap out Q and V#dudes it was shut down completely in 2020/2021 this is just a strike#worry about the failed convention center expansion efforts if you want to worry about the death or unsandiegoing of sdcc

Scrolling through another fandom's tag a while back, I encountered a few anon asks warning people of the perils of bringing up RPF/shipping to the individuals who inspire it. While I agree with the sentiment, this person didn't choose a good example to go with it: Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins.
The gist of it was that this issue caused them to stop talking and even to refuse to do events together for a long time.
Which is blatantly untrue, for one:
2009 and 2010
2011 and 2012
2013 and 2014
2015 and 2016
2017 and 2018
2019 and 2020
2021 and 2022
2023 and 2024
Here's the Masterlist compiled by @/livebloggingmydescentintomadness
Jensen's @ Misha mentions on Twitter; replies.
Misha's @ Jensen mentions on Twitter.
Instagram:
Videos:
2009 (AHBL); 2010 (ChiCon, SDCC Syfy event, ); 2011 (JIB); 2012 (JIB, ComicCon); 2013 (JIB); 2014 (JIB); 2015 (JIB); 2016 (JIB, ComicCon, compilation); 2017 (JIB, HonCon); 2018 (JIB); 2019 (JIB, Arlington); 2020 (EW photoshoot); 2021 (DenCon, gishfest); 2022 (NJCon, JIB, VanCon); 2023 (JIB, JIB again, Liverpool, Charlotte); 2024 (JIBbit, SF, Columbus, Burbank)...
[I'd add quotes but I think that's quite enough]
And secondly, why would it cause such a rift between Jensen and Misha when it didn't cause it between Jared and Jensen? I think you might have been misled by someone with an agenda...
So. Anon, you probably won't see this but I'll give you my advice anyway: if you really care about the topic, I'd find another example because this one works against you, if anything.

At #ComicCon International in San Diego, it was announced that #MattsonTomlin will be the showrunner for the #BRZRKR #Anime series.
In a pre-recorded message, Tomlin shared that he is assembling his team to begin development this fall. Tomlin, known for writing the upcoming Terminator Zero anime, is also attached to the live-action Mega Man film project. During the panel, BRZRKR co-creator #KeanuReeves received the Inkpot Award for his contributions to comic arts and popular culture.
The 2022 panel revealed that #ProductionIG is producing the anime series planned for two seasons. #Netflix, which acquired the rights in March 2021, describes BRZRKR as the story of an immortal warrior's 80,000-year struggle, with Reeves reprising and voicing his role in both a feature film and the anime spinoff.

I'm curious what you are preparing for whumptober.
I - despite my intensifying university work - am trying to do every prompt for Whumptober as character centric one-shots. I’ve done it twice before in 2020 and 2021, but never posted anything. This year it’s all Silm characters, and I limit myself to using the same character for a prompt up to three times (or else it would be 50% Maedhros 😅).
So far I’ve written about Thuringwethil feeding on Maedhros, Melkor whispering in Mairon’s ear in Almaren, Celebrimbor not coping with Sauron’s betrayal, and Glorfindel finding out about Ecthelion’s death. More are planned to come including Tortured for Information for Finrod, Water Inhalation for Voronwë, and Panic for Elwing. Ideally I’d post them all in a multi chapter story on Halloween, but that’s when ComicCon is on in my city so we’ll see how that goes.
Here’s something from Wednesday’s prompt:
Shock
He kept speaking, but Glorfindel couldn’t hear him. His entire body had gone numb. The sounds of the battle were suddenly muffled, as if they were far away. His ears began to ring. No. His mouth opened slightly as he kept on scanning, his eyes darting all over the square, still trying to find Ecthelion. Not him. He couldn’t feel the weight of his armour, couldn’t feel the scratch of his robes or the pull of his hair. Something squeezed in his chest and didn’t let go. Not Ecthelion.
“No,” he said out loud, taking a step forward. The heat that had been present was starting to be replaced by a dull cold, something that was spreading through all his limbs. His hands started to shake. “No.”
He tried to take another step but Tuor put a hand on his chest. He looked down, as if he couldn’t quite believe it.
“It’s too late,” Tuor pleaded, meeting his gaze. “We have to go.”

The moment Anya Taylor-Joy stepped into the spotlight as the doe-eyed, porcelain star of The Witch, her unique look rendered her a standout beauty. And in addition to her one-of-a-kind facial features, (which Taylor-Joy told W in a 2016 interview she “didn’t enjoy” and “stopped looking in mirrors for a very long time”), The Queen’s Gambit actress has a style all her own. Although she has her go-to styles (fluted sleeves, column gowns, sequins, and old Hollywood silhouettes), Taylor-Joy is a fashion dark horse—breaking out club-ready looks at ComicCon one night, and a frilly frock the next. With every look, the London native stays true to her whimsical, romantic inclinations. These days, it’s pretty rare to see Taylor-Joy in anything other than Dior, and Maria Grazia Chiuri has supplied the actress with a parade of gorgeous looks, some right off the runway, but many custom to bring Taylor-Joy’s old Hollywood fantasies to life. The actress loves dressing to the theme of her films almost as much as she loves a couture moment, and the result is almost a decade of red carpet show stoppers. Here, take a look back at some of Taylor-Joy’s best style moments from 2015 to now. 2025: SNL50 AnniversaryNBC/NBCUniversal/Getty ImagesRare, archival pieces are a staple of Taylor-Joy’s red carpet style. The actor proved as such at a SNL event in 2025 where she wore a fall 1995 Thierry Mugler look that was originally modeled by Kate Moss.2025: The Gorge PremiereAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic/Getty ImagesThe actor looked ready for take off at The Gorge premiere in a Dior mini dress fashioned with pleated wings.2024: Cannes Film FestivalMondadori Portfolio/Mondadori Portfolio/Getty ImagesForget themed dressing, Taylor-Joy was a true Dior princess at the 2024 Cannes premiere of her film, Furiosa.2024: Furiosa Australia PremiereDon Arnold/WireImage/Getty ImagesThe actor leaned into method dressing at the Furiosa premiere in Sydney. She wore a spiked mini dress and matching headpiece from Rabanne’s spring 1996 collection.2024: CinemaConAlberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty ImagesTayloy-Joy offered her own interpretation of the LBD at CinemaCon, promoting her film, Furiosa in a bondage-style dress from Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s fall 2024 collection, inspired by the late photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.2024: Academy AwardsKevin Mazur/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty ImagesThe actress was the latest Dior ambassador to pay homage to the house’s iconic archives, attending the 2024 Oscars in a modern take on Christian Dior’s Venus dress, from the designer’s fall 1949 collection. It was Maria Grazia Chiuri who designed this version, which featured a more streamlined skirt and gray color scheme. 2024: Vanity Fair Oscar Party Steve Granitz/FilmMagic/Getty ImagesTaylor-Joy later ditched the Venus redux for a more appropriate after-party option in the form of a Miss Sohee LBD, inspired by a look from the brand’s fall/winter 2021 collection. 2024: Dune: Part 2 New York PremiereJohn Nacion/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty ImagesThe actress was one of the first to bring John Galliano’s celebrated spring 2024 couture collection for Maison Margiela to the red carpet. 2024: Dune: Part 2 World PremiereSamir Hussein/WireImage/Getty ImagesTaylor-Joy shocked fans when she appeared at the Dune: Part 2 premiere in a dramatic white Dior gown, inspired by Marc Bohan’s work for the house’s spring 1961 couture collection. Up until that point, most didn’t know to expect the actress in the popular sci-fi sequel. 2023: Tiffany & Co.’s The Landmark ReopeningDimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty ImagesThough Taylor-Joy wasn’t attending a premiere or award show, she still pulled out all the stops for the opening of Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store, attending the event in a structured, red feather dress from Dilara Fındıkoğlu’s spring 2023 collection. Of course, Tiffany jewels completed the look. 2023: The Super Mario Bros. Movie Premiere Albert L. Movie by arriving to the premiere in a bubblegum pink racing jumpsuit by Dior. 2023: BAFTA Film AwardsSamir Hussein/WireImage/Getty ImagesTaking a break from her usual Dior, Taylor-Joy attended the BAFTA Film Awards in a Schiaparelli spring 2023 haute couture look featuring a structured gold velvet mini dress with a matching, oversized stole. 2023: Critics’ Choice AwardsSteve Granitz/FilmMagic/Getty ImagesTaylor-Joy wore a sheer, nude Dior haute couture dress to the Critics Choice Awards in 2023. 2023: Golden Globe AwardsDaniele Venturelli/WireImage/Getty ImagesTaylor-Joy showed up to the 2023 Golden Globes, where she was nominated for The Menu, in a yellow two-piece number from her trusted label, Dior. story time!!
one time just for fun and giggles I went on comiccon 2021 here in Ukraine. my sister loves cosplaying, but I'm not into that that deep (I'll do John just because it's gets boring to be a 'civil' on a two-day fest after I was on a few already). still, fandom staff is cool, and fest was Witcher themed and I love Witcher!! but the only thing why I really came this time was because I thought "well, it will be cool if I meet someone from rdr"
and I remember that moment really clearly, as I was sitting bored after I did a few circles around place to see John Marston. my jaw just dropped because it was very random and unexpected - he came out of nowhere!!! after a few minutes of just staring in disbelief, I went to make a selfie with him and first thing I asked was anxious "excuse me are you John Marston?????" cosplay was really good and I apologized to him, saying what I just didn't believe my eyes.......... poor John
then he said there's Arthur somewhere too and my heart sunk again. I met Arthur just a ten minutes after that. maybe it was silly, and writing it right now feels silly too, but I nearly cried when that man put Arthur's hat on me. he didn't look like Arthur at all, but magic of cosplay did it's thing. the way he spoked with an accent in English, by the way, what is impressive to hear when you live in no-English country (even when he asked if I saw John somewhere, he didn't break the character!), the outfit, the mannerism - all of this made my day and made a real core memory as a little addition that day, a few minutes later I again found an unexpected character - Johnny Silverhand, and helped my sister (what was in cosplay of Judy from Cyberpunk 2077) make a cosband and new friends that day!! I'm so proud of that too and I hope these two days next week will be as cool and as memorable and maybe even more so </3
just had a breakdown thought just by imagining how I'd draw last chapter of Star's Dol one day gosh how I want uni to end already it makes me so anxious I wanna live freely pleeaseee
also absolutely unrelated but I had to mention what I will go on a big fest as John Marston (classic rdr1 outfit) as first time in cosplay on convention !!!! and in a few days later starts final exams.

About the Event
Date: 23 July 2021 | Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvEwAQoNU8Y&ab_channel=Comic-ConInternational
Panel Description: Since 1984, the Dragon Ball series has always brought exciting adventures to fans around the globe. We welcome special guests Masako Nozawa (voice of Son Goku), Akio Iyoku (executive producer of the Dragon Ball series, and editor for Akira Toriyama), and Norihiro Hayashida (producer of TV animation and movies for the Dragon Ball series including Dragon Ball Super: BROLY) as they discuss the behind the scenes of the next Dragon Ball movie! There will be tons of exciting news and don’t miss a special musical performance by Hironobu Kageyama!
Notes
If you are a fan of Dragon Ball, I highly recommend this panel! It starts with a concert, then goes into interviews, and talks a little about the upcoming installment of the franchise.
They also provide a quick look into the digital booth that has been set up for Dragon Ball fans via the Comic Con website. You can check it out here: https://en.dragon-ball-official.com/special/sdcc2021/ *Just note that the entry point of the digital booth is about midway down the page.
You can read more about it at the official DB website, here: https://en.dragon-ball-official.com/news/01_322.html
---
Side Note
As a fan of DB franchise, I want to recommend some great fan-made content to check out. If you look up @stupidoomdoodles on Twitter and decide to follow them (if you get approved), you will get access to some of the best fan-made content I’ve ever seen. I used to love their posts here on Tumblr and was sad to find their blog missing when I started writing this post.
BTW, the snapchat series is probably my favorite...

I mean, come on. You know this (along with almost everything else they make) is probably canon behind the scenes. I freaking love it so much.
That’s it for this one, y’all!
