It didn’t take Gabriel long to spot Cairo’s imposing figure in the ballroom crowd, dressed head to toe in black and gold. Unexpectedly, he caught himself thinking how perfectly it fit his brother’s aesthetic—and was hit by a wave of irrational nervousness at the realization that he even knew what his brother’s aesthetic was. He was supposed to see him as an obstacle to destroy, not a person. But the incident with Ransom had shifted the dynamic between them—at least in the warlock’s mind—making everything far more complicated than before. Even with Lucien’s voice echoing in his head, urging him to crush his brother like an insect if he wanted what had been promised, Gabriel couldn’t bring himself to feel nothing. The blood debt he owed Cairo made it impossible not to feel at least a flicker of gratitude—though he’d never admit it aloud. Maybe Doctor Gaudet had miscalculated when he ordered the witch to tail him for protection. Or maybe his father had known the truth all along: that their shared blood meant nothing in the end. The final confrontation between them was inevitable, and Gabriel knew neither of them would accept defeat without a fight. That didn’t mean he didn’t secretly wish things could be different.
"Hey there, darling. Did you miss me?" He whispered, slipping up behind Cairo and covering his eyes with gloved hands. His tone was a breathy, exaggeratedly sultry parody of Seth Harper’s voice. Gabriel had had the dubious pleasure of speaking to that strange creature not long before, and his imitation wasn’t particularly convincing. “What a pleasure to see you, brother. You look like Captain Hook. But I’ve got to say, I do appreciate the half-unbuttoned shirt. Really shows off one of your best features.” he murmured into Cairo’s ear, rising onto his toes and resting a hand on his shoulder to make up for the height difference. He knew that saying things like this to the older one could lead to some truly messed-up bullshit, like the kiss they’d shared during Spring Mischief. But they’d been clear with each other: the blood bond between them was purely nominal. And the fact that it was forbidden only made the idea all the more tempting. “So,” he added, tilting his head slightly, “have you already decided whose ass you’re going for tonight? Or are you sticking with your girlfriend’s? I just ran into him, by the way, he was looking for you.”

Ericsson Egypt celebrates 120-year anniversary
2017-04-26 Categories: Recognitions & Awards
Ericsson Egypt celebrated its 120-year anniversary with a media event in Cairo on April 24th, with theme “120 Years of Innovating Ahead in Egypt”.
During the event, media were given an overview about the company’s history in Egypt and around the world. The guests were also given a technical training session about the telecom industry and its latest trends.
Ericsson was founded in Egypt in 1897 when the country’s first telephone exchange system was established, connecting Cairo to Alexandria for the first time. Ericsson introduced many firsts in Middle East and North East Africa including some of the first GSM networks, the first third and fourth generation networks (3G and 4G), and is currently on the road to 5G.
“Ericsson’s ideas, technology and people have created monumental impact, and real turning points that have transformed lives, industries and society as a whole. Today, we celebrate our longstanding presence in Egypt reaffirming our commitment towards this key market,” said Helene Henriksson, Head of Ericsson Egypt.
Ericsson has been present globally for over 140 years. Founded by Lars Magnus Ericsson in 1876, Ericsson grew from a mechanical engineering shop in a modest 13-square-meter facility to a multinational company that today employs around 111,000 experts who provide customers in 180 countries with innovative solutions and services across the globe.

People power wins the day: John Parker is home safe
Dec. 3: After 37 hours of detainment by Egyptian authorities, John Parker and the rest of the #Cairo4 were deported and traveled safely home.
The #Cairo4 were an international delegation of activists who traveled to Egypt for the Global Conscience Convoy initiated by the Egyptian Syndicate of Journalists, a grassroots effort to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The mass movement made it happen. Forces from around the world, already united for Palestine, united against repression and for our right to stand with Palestine.
As of today, John is home safe in Los Angeles. This very same day, he launched his candidacy for California’s 37th congressional district. His campaign will stand in unwavering solidarity with Palestine.

By John Parker
After the U.S. killed the U.N. Security Council resolution for a ceasefire on Dec. 8 — and today delayed another vote of the Security Council demanding an immediate ceasefire — Washington continues to pour gas on the fires in Gaza.
“It’s just awful,” said one of the U.S. embassy representatives in Cairo, Egypt, about the killing going on in Gaza. With a bowed head with apparent frustration at their supposed inability to stop the killing in Gaza, the embassy representatives told our U.S. delegation of World Conscience Convoy participants nothing of value.

set the night of Gabriel's shooting, after this
Gabriel was pacing back and forth in Lucien’s bedroom, his hands tangled in his hair, a haunted expression on his face. It had been a couple of hours since Ransom shot him, even though it felt like much longer. How the hell had he let that happen? How could he have been so stupid, so unprepared? He wanted to scream, to go back to Raphael’s suite and start punching the black dragon until there was nothing left of him but bloody sludge. But he couldn’t: as the son of two Councilmen, he couldn’t afford such outbursts—especially not while his fathers were locked in the Council chamber, deciding Morozov’s fate. They would sentence him to death—they had to—but that still wasn’t enough to ease the warlock’s nerves. His mind was spiraling in a loop of fear, anger, and doubt, but he couldn’t let himself be crushed by it, not while he was in Lucien’s territory, under his watchful eye. He could’ve tried to rest, but his trembling body was flooded with adrenaline, so sleep wasn’t even an option. He was left with only one choice: focus on something else. Someone else. The only one available was his unlikely savior, Cairo Fucking Gaudet-De Luca.
Gabriel rolled his eyes. The last person he wanted to see was his brother, especially with his hands still shaking and his clothes bloody and torn to pieces, but anything was better than being alone with his thoughts right now. Once he made up his mind, he sprang into action, rushing around Lucien’s suite and gathering all the supplies he needed: stethoscope, blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter, thermometer, penlight, reflex hammer—and a bottle of whiskey. That last one was more for his benefit than for Cairo’s. He wasn’t thrilled about not having his state-of-the-art equipment—it had been left on the sidewalk when Ransom shot him, he guessed—and having to make do with the dusty old tools of a doctor who probably hadn’t seen a patient since the fall of Rome, but beggars couldn’t be choosers.
“Rise and shine, princess,” he said in a deadpan tone as he approached Cairo, who was still lying on Lucien’s immaculate couch. “Sit up and undress. I’m going to examine you and make sure you’re okay. In case my tone isn’t clear enough, that wasn’t a request.” He uncorked the whiskey and took a long swig before grabbing Cairo’s left arm and checking his radial pulse. “Why did you do it?” he asked simply, offering no further context, trusting that his brother was sharp enough to understand the subtext: ‘why did you risk your life to save me?’
