For my birthday... read my webcomic! It's literally free! (Unless you want books. Those are not free)

It's beautiful, it's gentle, it's funny, they're canonically t4t and gay... And it's about time traveling vampires solving supernatural mysteries!

I've spent thousands of hours writing and drawing it, and it's really good! I'm not biased!

It's on hiatus right now and coming back in 2 months, so it's the perfect time to get caught up

#i felt weird putting this in there so I didnt but I've also received recognition for excellence in writing #and was nominated as a fan favorite on webtoon canvas...#so like not only do i work super hard but its just really good!#im not ashamed of claiming that i think my work is well done. if i didn't think i was doing a good job why would i do it #buuuut. something about being like please read my comic im literally so good at comics feels weird to me #even though i think that. in my brain #i dont want to imply that there is some objective or tangible goodness to my work simply for receiving some accolades #its nothing other than some accolades. whether or not someone likes it is up to them #so i guess to me it just feels superfluous #but genuinely I love my comics...#i re read them all the time. and i enjoy them!#theres things i would change and probably will change when i go to print #but i did what I could with the time and energy I had #and when it comes back... oh boy.#my friends have agreed its the best stuff ive ever written. it's literally so good...#im so excited to share.#still not fully ready to officially commit to the return date #but i am gunning for it!#webcomics #webtoon #time and time again #its my birthday!#idk wtf to tag this as. im 27 now...#read my comic #LOL

Look at this glorious illustration @praise-the-lord-im-dead drew of Noemie Gardeine, the main character from my old WIP, The Brilliant Hour.

This is from a scene in the first chapter. It's the moment when Noemie's in her performance clothes at a Night Market festival, and spots a flaming bottle of oil thrown from a great height, about to smash.

Didn't @praise-the-lord-im-dead do a terrific job?

#I had planned on saving this to share with an excerpt but the passage in question is being stubborn and I didn't want to put it off too long #I love that she looks like a fourteen year old. She looks like she could be in my lower high class. I love her flyaways from under her #khustka. I love the sense of space and how much the foreshortening does for the picture - look at the distance between her hands!#I love how she's alarmed but the alarm is still processing - not overstated #I love all the embellishments on her clothing and the rich greens and purple. I love the poof and fittedness of her sleeves #and wraps at her ankles and her excellent shoes for tumbling in.#I love the artistic angle and the feeling of motion beginning #I love how it looks like she's tried to piece together a cohesive and festive look with the fancy clothing pieces she has picked up along #the way of her life but it's not all made to match because there's no way she could get her hands on a complete outfit.#And I love the background colour - the Night Market is full of bonfires and gold falling from overhead and red canvas vendors' stalls #so these warm tones work really well!#Thank you for all the skill you brought to this piece #And you all - you all should go commission her if you ever have a chance!#the brilliant hour #noemie #canvas of the eye #noveling #my writing

Beetle bag! Bag of beetles!!!

This might be my favorite one yet, I love how these fabrics look together and this beetle print is just fantastic

#feesh answer #there's a program for this?!? there's a machine for this?!?!?!#crafts have excelled beyond my very mild imagination #my brain always assuming that patches are done stitch by stitch. because i never rly thought about it #but if i rly think about it #that's just inefficient isn't it?? and if you don't have some sorta plan #things will get lopsided real fast #well. i mean. if i ever had to make a patch then you know what it would look like EHAH #lopsided uneven and sloppy. by hand. because i forget about technology #incredible. incroayabley.#but on such a small canvas #yeah #i can imagine how tough it would be to translate that image #especially with yakumo's tiny horrified pupils 😆#but. regardless of the limitations of space and tech #GLORIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#red said #some of us don't retain information well through the spoken word!!!!#I'm trying the Couch to 5k app and it's helpful to have someone talk you through when to stop and when to run in real time #but all the pages on warm-up and cool down stretches are ONLY YouTube embeds #and ok i can see how that's useful for some people. but i don't want to watch a long video of someone waffling on!#i want some diagrams and a paragraph or so of description that can serve as a glancing reminder #OR i would like the voiceover on the app to have an opt-inbwhere it takes you through specific stretches in real time #or. ideally. both.#video is just not always an efficient way to convey information! sometimes you want to scan/skim!#i like to see where I'm going before i get there and then move back and forth #you can't DO THAT the same way in video #this also happens when i try to find like a specific function for excel or indesign or canva or something #don't make me go through the whole process in real time twice!!!! just show me a picture or a formula or what menu a thing is in!
