SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE CH. 1138
Vibes for this chapter:

Now that my hands have stopped shaking, here are my main take aways. This is gonna be a super long word vomit, so just be prepared:
Shamrock is aware of Shanks (they might have met) and seems disappointed that Shanks likes chilling with āØthe commonersāØ
If Shamrockās sword has the Cerberus-Cerberus Fruit, that means that the theory of Blackbeard having it is debunked
The Shiki-looking figure made a reappearance when Luffy was talking about Shankās family and seems to be approaching the castle, so we might meet them soon
THE MURAL AND HARLEY
I wonder if there will be a specific character that made the mural, who weāll be introduced to later. Ripleyās line about āa childās dreamā stood out to me
Due to the āThree Worldsā that Robin reads about, Iām assuming that itās basically confirmed that there have been 3 holders of the Nika fruit, that coincided with the 3 world-changing events (the first Nika, Joyboy, and now Luffy)
There are 3 demon-like figures, one for each world. I assume they represent the foe that each Nika rose up against, but are they different? Are they the same? Are they all Imu? Only Oda can tell
And hereās everything I took note of on the mural:
The First World
The forbidden sun ā power source? Devil Fruits???
Seems like it caused the separation of the earth and the sky/heavens
Lots of factory imagery
Who were the slavers?
The figures (the slaves) carry sun/starburst things. Are these the forbidden sun? Devil fruits? They seem to be throwing them toward the Second World part of the mural, where āembers of warā are mentioned
BIG SNAKE, SERPENT OF HELL, WHO ARE YOU???
The Second World
āThe God of the Forest sent forth demonsā ā is this about devil fruits? Fruits grow on trees (duh) and then obviously demons = devils. And later, it talks about the Sea becoming enraged
Mentions of people belonging to the Half-Moon and the Moon. What is the difference? Is this referencing the Lunarians?
āHumanity killed the Sun, and then ascended to divinityā ā they killed Nika or Joyboy? Seems to be about the Celestial Dragons
āThe God of the Sea became enragedā ā about the rising of the sea levels?
bruh, the boats look like Enelās ship. If Enel comes back, Iāll lose my mind
The Third World
Where we are now. The final arc. What we should expect. The future.
References the Void Century and how the Elders and Imu remember what happened and what might happen (āthe day of promiseā)
āThey will surely meet againā Who? The reunion of everything that was separated in the First and Second Worlds? The reunion of all the gods that were mentioned?
The mural is amazing and there are so many details throughout, but especially in this section
Obviously thereās Nika/Joyboy (Luffy) leading an army against a figure thatās probably Imu
Under Imu, thereās a boat with figures in white uniforms ā Marines/the World Gov
In Nikaās army, there are figures that represent: giants, minks, lunarians, mermaids and fishmen, samurai/ninja/people from Wano, a robot (Emet?), dwarves/tontatta, Sea Kings/Laboon (the whale), and a ship with a flag that looks like the Alabasta kingdomās flag (@sabo-toraoās post brought my attention to that, shoutout to them)
There are so many details that I probably missed and so many things that Oda probably hasnāt explored yet, but will and Iām so excited
But TLDR: Oda cooked, Lore Piece is real, this chapter was fantastic, and the final war arc is gonna blow my mind

(SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 1144)
So, I've seen people call the science facility a robot, and I get why, it immediately gave me Castle in the Sky vibes

(chapter 1144 and Laputa: Castle in the Sky)
But! Franky and Lilith both call it a facility (ę½čØ shisetsu) and Ripley calls it a building (å»ŗē© tatemono), so I think it's safe to assume that it's not a robot.
[I don't think it's a coincidence that it looks like the robots from Studio Ghibli, though. Laputa: Castle in the Sky is the story of two kids who are running away from the government, the army and pirates, all who want a necklace one of them has that is the key to accessing an ancient floating castle that has super advanced and destructive technology. So, like Uranus, the Ancient Weapon that probably destroyed Lulusia.]
It being more than 3000 years old makes it way older than the Void Century. For comparison, the only things (to my knowledge) that are older than the Void Century so far are:
5000 years - age of Ohara's Tree of Knowledge
4000 years ago - construction of Alabasta's palace
3000 years - age of the science facility in Elbaf
1100 years ago - Shandora is founded
1000 years ago - Minks settled on Zou
900 to 800 years ago - Void Century
Happened more than 1100 years ago, but unspecified when
People of the Moon (Skypeans, Shandians and Birkans) descend from the Moon to the Blue Planet (Enel's Cover Story)
So this facility is at least as old as the Great Kingdom, if not older. We don't really know how long the kingdom existed before it was wiped out and erased.
.
I think it's funny that Brook is the one that said the Draugr lookes like a giant him, because the kanji used for it is ē«ę»äŗŗ, which literally translates to burned corpse, and Brook with his ice powers is kind of the opposite.

(chapter 1144)
Also I love the Strawhats being smart! It's a nice little moment to remind everyone that Jinbei and Brook are veteran pirates, they would be the ones to catch on quicker.
Like in Punk Hazard, if there are kids being mistreated, it's a guarantee that Nami is gonna get involved. The other knights are indifferent at best, but seeing as Sommers is the more outspoken one, I see him being the one to piss her off the most if they end up meeting. If he messes with her, it's another point in favor of Sanji being the one to fight him.

(chapters 1144 and 41)
Colon is giving me both Usopp and Luffy vibes. But he really reminded me of Luffy, since both of their first appearances involved getting rejected by Shanks lol

(chapters 1076 and 1)
The fact that he's heading straight towards the people kidnapping children though... Oh, the irony that he would've probably been safer trying to fight the nightmare monsters. I know the Straw Hats are with him, but it almost guarantees that Gaban and/or Ripley is gonna get involved with the God's Knights.
[Sidenote: I've seen someone wonder why they're called God's and not Gods', since supposedly they are Knights for all the Celestial Dragons, but that's just a translation decision. Their Japanese name is ē„ć®éØå£«å£ (kami no kishidan) and ē„ (kami) can mean both god singular and gods plural. So you can think of their name as meaning the Knights of all Celestial Dragons or as a nod to the fact that they're all ruled by one single god, Imu. The official translation solved that by calling them Holy Knights, I just keep calling them God's Knights because I think it sounds better.]
.

(chapter 1144)
Knowing that the arrow is made of cloth, and isn't just a projection, makes me wonder what happens if you try to cut it. Like, say, the guy who says he needs to know how to cut through anything. Especially since she talked all about her powers showing an "unavoidable future", and Zoro seems to be struggling a bit ever since he saw death when he was fighting with King in Wano. Brook would be a nice match for Gunko because she likes his music, but maybe Zoro would be good too.
.
Also, I still don't know about these nightmare things and the damage they cause. Because if Killingham can really just put someone to sleep and pluck a monster right out, and that monster can actually hurt and affect the real world normally, then why did Oda put in that comment about the dream food tasting good and making you feel full, but ultimately having no substance (zero energy)? Makes me think there's a trick to fighting him. Another chance for Usopp, the king of tricks, to shine

ok fuck it im finally gonna write down ramble about the similarities between castle in the sky and spirit tracks rhghghrr
case #1: the characters
in my very private and running around inside my mind headcanons, I see a lot of close things between pazu and link
pazu is a sweet boy (maybe even naive) who helps those in need (like every protagonist) hes a very dedicated worker in the mines, and loves machinery
same could be said for link, who never talks in game but shows his shyness and and also sweet nature. (perhaps this is only around zelda,) you could take the fact that he doesnt even want to get up at the beginning of the game to take his exam because he dislikes the job, but this is where my headcanons come in. in short, hes a child genius and a perfectionist and works himself a little too much, and gets really eepy. so yes he loves machines (trains) as well
oh, and they are both orphans. (link is a bit difficult because hes usually always some type of parentless/guardianless child but anyways-)
and even other than personality and hobbies, their looks have similar parts too
of course, theyre not carbon copies of each other (such as colors being different) but the gloves and, especially to me, the cap is the one that sticks out. like. no other zelda game has him wearing a hat like that
(I just realized the gloves r the same color holy shit š) ((bruh and the posture lmaošš))
now I dont have much to say about sheeta and zeldas similarities (sorry) but they are both royals (well 1 of royal descent)
case #2: character relationships
spirit tracks zelink is what is keeping me alive so heres some similarities
I love love love the "hopeless romantic commoner falls in love with literal princess (she loves him back)" trope. which, pazu and sheetas relationship is a little different, but the vibes are the same
both couples? pairs? are so innocently in love with each other (maybe link shows it more) but just look:

they are so rhghghrhHRHFHFJJ HISS HISS HISS šššššššš„š„š
and finally the catching part in the movie
now you may ask "oh totk link caught zelda something something skyward sword falling blah blah blah" (im joking pls dont hate š) but this catch is different than those
they arent both falling, bro is already on the ground
you know who else is on the ground?
THIS BITCH

pazu may seem more.. graceful in catching sheeta compared to link, but (according to my dad) the whole joke of link dropping zelda comes from this movie (I havent finished it so idk) but I do know pazu struggles under the weight of sheeta after all the magic stuff goes away š
case #3: minor stuff
so I havent watched the entire movie yet, but heres some other things I saw
birds
they r both doves...... interesting....
though different, they also both play an instrument (link plays a panflute and pazu a trumpet)
also the design similarities in the robots and the phantoms, but ive run out of photos and time so that's kt
thanks for coming to my tedtalk (to the 3 people that will see this š)

I really like the way you write romance stories and wanted to know if you had any books you would recommend. I just love the way you write character interactions and this is me checking the bookmarked tab of a favorited author.
oooooh! Okay! (I'm rubbing my hands together, because I love talking about my favorite books)
I don't read a lot of books that are specifically in the romance genre, but I read a lot where the romance is strong. There's just other stuff going on that is more crucial to the plot.
Howl's Moving Castle. My favorite book. It is not the same as the movie, so don't go in thinking it's going to be quiet, pacifist vibes, because it's not that. There's a lot of bickering and over-dramatics. It's so funny. Howl is my favorite fictional character of all time, and the way Sophie doesn't put up with his shit while knowing all the words to his rugby team's theme song is peek romance. Their banter is excellent, and their relationship is weirdly wholesome.
The Scholomache series, which starts with A Deadly Education. It's a magic school, butā¦more fucked up that you're expecting. Grumpy girl destined to be an evil sorceress and a himbo guy. Shit gets absolutely wild. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Love it.
Speaking of Naomi Novik, Uprooted has a similar relationship dynamic to Howl's Moving Castle. Also the Temeraire series, which starts with His Majesty's Dragon is very fun, although has next to no romance. It's the Napoleonic Wars but with dragons, and is both ridiculous and pointed.
The Scorpio Races. This is a really beautiful book about evil magic horses and loss and poverty and being stuck places. I love it.
A Far Wilder Magic. Holy shit, what did I read? Everyone else needs to read this too and confirm it exists. It's a Goddamned triumph.
Things without much romance, that I am going to recommend anyway:
Paper Menagerie (Devastating Short stories).
Orange World (Devastating short stories)
What it Means When a Man Falls from the Sky (Devastating Short Stories)
The Murderbot Diaries, which starts with All Systems Red (Most relatable character ever)
Project Hail Mary (wild fun ride. If you like how I do Zelda talking about Sheikah tech, this is for you.)
Sourdough (cute novel about a magic sourdough starter and a robot arm)
The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August (I think about this an unhealthy amount)
The Girl from Everywhere (girl's sea captain dad can time travel using old maps)
Iron Widow (Pacific Rim with more revenge)
The Last Tale of the Flower Bride (rich prose. Perfect balance of fairy tale logic.)
If you go read any of these, or if you've read any of these, feel free to drop me a line shrieking about them. I would love that. I have a lot more to say about all of them.

Hi ari š¤ brought you a question. Again š Which ghibli movies or characters best suit different jjk characters? Mention non ghibli anime too if u want :D include the heartbreaking film - grave of the fireflies if you have seen it. Gotta sleep bye!! Have a nice day š
hi toruuuu :333 thank you for the question!!! I LOVE STUDIO GHIBLI SOOOOO MUCH i actually havenāt watched grave of the fireflies tho šš iām most familiar w the miyazaki movies but iāll include some others for this question too !! most of these are entirely vibe-based LMAO
satoru - howlās moving castle
do i even need to say it ???? gojo is howl. howl is gojo. theyāre soooo similar and this movie in general just reminds me of him sm :(((( i think heād love it a lot!!! the star motifs, the war, the breakfast and kindness in sophieās found familyā¦ā¦ howl who is so strong and out of reach. who views himself as a monster. but he finds love in so many ways and he gives love to so many peopleā¦.. sob. he makes me so emotional. heās also a pathetic loser which is very gojocoded <3333
suguru - spirited away
I HAD TO PICK IT . I HAD TO. throwback to my childhood friend!sugu and his queer awakening being haku LMAOā¦ā¦. i just think this movie is so unbelievably sugucoded with all the yÅkai and ominous vibesā¦. but then also those little bits and pieces of family as a theme :3 obv he reminds me a lot of haku. with the dragon form and everything⦠the devotionā¦.. think sugu would love this movie a ton and i think nanamimi would adore it. they force him to watch it all the time hehe
shoko - castle in the sky
CHOOSING ONE FOR SHOKO WAS TOUGHHH but eventually i landed here ā¦.. this one is entirely vibe-based but. just. the plotā¦. the pirates and planes and high-speed chase scenes and the castle in the sky with all its advanced technologyā¦.. especially the castle. the robots!!!! the retrofuturistic style in general is soooo shokoā¦. and obviously the war themes but thatās kind of a given for any of miyazakiās works. honestly i think porco rosso is very very shokocoded too but i had to give that to another one of my blorbosā¦.. this movie just makes me feel so nostalgic and i think the themes fit shoko a ton :3
honourable mention to the ghibli lupin movie that i Have Not Seen but i just KNOW shoko would love it. trust. anything detective/phantom thief based makes me think of her
kenny - the boy and the heron / nausicaƤ of the valley of the wind
I COULDNāT DECIDE š nausicaƤ was another big contender for shokoās movie but i just think itās too weird and freaky to give to anyone but kenny. that movie TRAUMATIZED me as a child. and i think kenny would love it. also just???? the creepy bugs????? nature vs humanity?????? those themes feel so kenny. heād like the protag a lot i think!!
as for the boy and the heronā¦. itās just Vibes. the heron reminds me of kenny!! and i think heād love the movie a lotā¦. the depictions of war and the fantasy world, the blend between comedy and violenceā¦.. i just feel like thereās such a strong contrast between the bleak realism and the colourful fantasy elements. and that makes me think of kenny!!! i want to watch this movie w him so BAD bro i know his commentary would be the best šš
toji - porco rosso
IT FITS HIM SO WELL. I FEEL INSANE. porco rosso is one of my Absolute Favorite ghibli movies andddd i think toji would love it / itās just so Him!!!! porco rosso is genuinely him. a literal pig who smokes cigars and flies jet planesā¦.. this movie is so special to me and itās just giving toji vibes :3 the cigarettes and planes and beautiful gorgeous womenā¦. the macho men. etcetc. but also the grief and the tender scenesā¦.. iāll never forget that One scene with all the planes of the people who died ascending up into the sky :(((( yeah. this movie is so good and so underrated and i think toji would love it sooooo damn bad
nobara - whisper of the heart / the cat returns
had to give my best girl the best movie <333 being whisper of the heart. but since the cat returns is connected to it and also very nobaracoded i thought iād go with both!!!! the cat returns is just so funnnn and since nobara is a cat person i think itās perfect for her!! i can imagine her watching it as a kid and having a crush on both the protag AND the baron lmao. she watches it for comfort now n then <33
and whisper of the heartā¦. my favorite ghibli movie Of All Time <333 itās sooo nostalgic and coming-of-age as a genre is very Her. there are so many fun lovely scenes that i think noba would like :((( idk if sheād actually like romance movies bUT. shizukuās journey with writing and growing up and finding more control in her life feels very nobara. sheās true to herself!!!! i think nobara would hateeee seiji tho rip to him šš these movies just bring me soooo much comfort and nobara does too <333
megumi - ponyo
THIS ONE IS JUST SO. yeah. the nature themes?? the sea???? the fishes?????? everything is so megumi i could see him loving this movie soso much :(((( heās embarrassed to admit it but itās his comfort movie. he loves the scene w the ramenā¦. idk the vibes here are just very gumi. again!!! the sea!!!! the sea rising to the surface!!!!!! all the underwater scenes are so vibrant and prettyā¦.. ALSO THE ABSENT FATHERISM? yeah. megumi is ponyocoded. he loves it so much <33 watches it with yuji and nobara and feels so cozy. baby boy.
mai - kikiās delivery service
you know i had to give this one to her <333 momo and miwa and her watch it for sure. ANOTHER one of my Absolute Favs btw and itās just!! yeah. itās mai. what can i say. the witches and cats and also just the whole theme of being thrust into a completely new environment??? having to adjust???? and the difficulty kiki has with thatā¦. her eventual burnout :(((( it just reminds me a bit of maiās life. i think sheād love to run away to a completely different country⦠find a place where she feels wanted and loved. sniffle. i love this girl w all my heart :(((( i like to think that her and maki watched this one as kidsā¦. maki likes the more action-leaning ghibli movies more but she would watch it to make mai happy. i love them.
takaba - pompoko
aaaand finally!!!! a silly movie for a silly meowmeow :3 NO BUT ACTUALLY THOUGHH CAN WE PLS TALK ABOUT THIS MOVIE . IāM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVES IT RIGHTā¦. itās just so funny and sooooo weird but also soso heartfelt and thatās takaba down to a tee!!! the japanese mythology elements made me think of kenny tooā¦.. this movie is both kenny and takaba coded i think. theyād both love it. BUT YEAH I JUST THINK THIS MOVIE IS VERY HIMā¦. the tanukis and their lil adventures :3 but also the spooky scenes. and the struggles they face!! when humans destroy their homes!!!! takaba would watch this movie and he would cry. sweet sweet puppy of a man.
#THANK YOUUU FOR THE FUN QUESTION <333#itās been a while since i watched some of these but i love them very much :3#ask tag ā©

Esteemed members of the committee, I stand before you to humbly request that you consider an addition to the ghibli gender envy list. For your consideration I submit
7. last laputian gardener robot

War? Haven't heard of it. Human greed and lust for power? Who's that? The passage of time? Gonna have to slow down there, friend. Last laputian gardener robot is just up here in the castle in the sky tending to the Garden with its little animal friends and its little mosses, vibing along and slowly becoming one with the Garden until it joins its colleagues.
wizard boys and sophie are banned. you are only allowed to have ghibli gender envy from this pre-approved list effective immediately
1. the ohmu

2. magic jumping lamp

3. boar god .

4. dunkleosteus

5. cat bus

6. turnip head (NOT in human form)

Any further additions must be approved by the committee.

i kin assign...

castle in the sky (1986) dir. hayao miyazaki
A young boy and a girl with a magic crystal must race against pirates and foreign agents in a search for a legendary floating castle.
this one is sort of just vibes based on our recent threads with ingvar, but i feel the gentleness and importance of nature in the movie sort of fits, as well as the vibe of the big robots

28 Days until Tears of the Kingdom Release!!!!!!! I've spent hours talking with several of my friends about yesterday's trailer. I have so many theories and questions but since I can't have any of them answered until the game comes out, I'll share some of them with you. Instead of posting all of the analysis at once, however, I'll do it in smaller chunks over the next few days. Spoilers below if you wanna avoid trailer stuff.
I mean the first thing I noticed was the Chu-chu (my friend said they are called Slimes in German) fighting the construct. I find it fascinating that these constructs fight other mobs. Did the Zonai build them just to fight monsters or all intruders? What do they register Link as? An invader? I wonder if there is a game mechanic that convinces the constructs not to attack Link or maybe only sentry constructs attack Link and all other constructs must be triggered in a combat trial or something.
This robot is chopping down a tree. I noticed that some of the constructs in the gameplay trailer ignored Link. I'm guessing that these are specifically worker constructs. They remind me of the mining robots in Skyward Sword.
After this I enjoyed the music and Link's awesome dive through the air. I don't have much to say about that except my friend wondered why Link isn't constantly cold all the time if he's that high up. I'm chalking it up to Sky Island magic.
Mushrooms in Hateno. I think some of them are real and others are just decorations. Gives me Minish cap vibes. I wonder if their is a specific mushroom shop or maybe there is a festival going on? Idk maybe the towns people just wanted some color.
TENTS. The way I almost screamed because they are rebuilding. It makes me so emotional to see that the people of Hyrule were rebuilding from the Calamity. To see the Guardians and malice gone from the courtyard is just ugh my heart. My friend hopes that Nintendo lets us explore some of rebuilt Hyrule before things go to shit again and Ganondorf wrecks everything and I agree. However, I have a feeling that Nintendo will not let us explore the half built castle as part of a tutorial before waking up the angry mummy in the basement. I can dream though.
Another look at that spiral shrine thing. I really really want to know what those are. Also lmao looks like a sky island fell and got wedged sideways. I guess its something interesting to look at for the people in Kakariko.
Alright so this structure rising out of the ground in the desert is probably in the Arbiters ground area. I'm not gonna say dungeons confirmed but I've absolutely heard other people say it. I thought it might be related to the structures in Twilight Princess (cough maybe the Twili) but my friend suggested the dungeon in Skyward Sword which also rises from the ground. Either way I'm excited to explore it.
We've seen many shots of the castle rising but I really appreciate seeing the Sheikah here reacting to it as well. It makes the world feel more real and the trailer of course did a great job at including NPCs. I do still wonder what exactly the falling rocks are and why they continue to fall throughout the game.
This figure looks so much like Demise. It's tempting to think that this is Ganondorf considering we see him later in the trailer. However, I'm gonna stick to the idea that we might be seeing both characters. Although, maybe Demise will only be in flashbacks/visions of the past. It would be fun if Ganondorf in the final fight morphs into more of a Demise form.
This one was just cruel. Link is gonna be so devastated at having failed to catch/protect Zelda and he tried so hard. I hope he quickly learns that Zelda isn't dead because he's gonna be racked with guilt either way.
For as much as Nintendo loves showing that they dropped Zelda off a cliff, I'm glad that they showed the yellow glow. Since her hand is glowing I'm wondering if her triforce powers saved her which is certainly a possibility. However, there is another possibility. Zelda looks like she's holding something in her hand. I think that she found the little golden recall stone/tear and when she fell it activated. Time travel is looking very possible.
But that's it for today. Thank you for reading.

I like to think venti would really love Disney and studio gibili movies, especially the princess movies, he be thinking of himself as a knight that saves the princess(the reader). Or the Disney faries? I mean faries and him both fly so thereās something in common. Just sit him down for a Disney movie marathon and by the end of one marathon he be singing all the Disney songs.
I love studio ghibli movies with all my heart I could talk about them for hours fr, I tried to think hard about what his favorite ghibli movie would be and I can't decide between Totoro for the fun whimsical aspects (the soot sprites are adorable and kind of remind me of how I think wind wisps would act, plus the big ass tree which houses an ancient god that has the ability to ride on wind *cough cough*) or Princess Monoke, which is obviously a completely different vibe but it's just a really strong message of humanity vs nature and gods (plus the forest spirits are absolutely adorable and also remind me of wind wisps)
Thinking on it further, it's kind of weird looking at some of the similarities between Khaenri'ah and Laputa from Castle in the Sky, both being incredibly technologically advanced human made cities that ended in ruin, not to mention had giant robots used as weapons that are consistently seen overgrown, you could probably make an interesting au with that
It's also mildly interesting how many ghibli movies reference the wind, like The Wind Rises (which I've heard Scara say about a million times now) and NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind
Anyway, since I could ramble on about this forever, moving on to Disney, which regrettably I didn't get as much into
I really don't know if he could ever truly see himself as the knight or prince who "slays the dragon", in game he pretty adamant about being the storyteller for those types of people, claiming to follow the traveler on their adventure because that's just what bards do, and his best friend's a dragon too lmao
He'd probably get into the genre anyway because they are similar types of heroic stories that he's familiar with, assuming we're talking about older classic Disney which contains a lot of those tropes, but it would be difficult for him to see himself in any of those characters because a lot of them are way more serious and less whimsical and free, he would probably relate more to the fairies and animals and occasional drunk tavern-going side character
(As cliche as it is to say, I think the most comparisons I can see is with Peter Pan, I mean green wearing childlike in behavior musically inclined hangs out with mythical creatures can fly and whole philosophy is living leisurely/freely? I couldn't not bring it upā)
And really he would totally learn all the songs that you like just in general, movie or otherwise, because he just has to be prepared to serenade you at any given moment of course, it's like a staple of his personality
But I think the best part we're overlooking is just movie marathon with Venti, laying together on a bed or couch covered in blankets with and unlimited supply of snacks while you get to watch his eyes just light up at the magic of animation, getting to rewatch all the movies you haven't touched in a handful of years yourself, a perfect evening
#genshin impact#sagau#genshin venti#venti x reader#genshin x reader#brainrot#ghibli is my jam and if you want another five pages of comparisons I could probably provide#there's so many fantastic fantasy aspects and really deep themes that are just perfect

Hi, this is not for me but for my friend Vin_shoken who is taking commissions but apparently doesn't want to use Tumblr to promo herself so I'm doing it for her
If you follow me, you might know some of Vin's MCYT parody songs, perhaps the one she did for the MCYTblr Sexyman Tournament:
youtube
The Billy Eilish's "Bad Guy" parody about the Bad Boys is great too.
She also does some seriously awesome atmospheric pieces, including my favourite, the one that's labeled "super cool original song i love sm" on her website, which was actually made for me :D (I'm not biased at all lmao)
It was for my character for a Minecraft roleplay series that unfortunately never ended up happening (well at least not yet... who knows). My character was supposed to be an ancient construct, like a clockwork robot from the bronze age or something along those lines, think Laputa: Castle in the Sky (the Ghibli movie). I had some very weird and specific requests for the vibe of the song, some of which were frankly mutually contradictory, and Vin still delivered exactly what I wanted and I think also read my mind to give me things I didn't even know how to ask for.
She's also very funny and a master of silly puns.
So yeah, go check her out at least and maybe consider commissioning!

Theory Confirmed: The Ancient Kingdom Was An Advanced Utopian Society
So, yeah, this practically confirms One Piece used to be a more sci-fi setting before everything was probably turned upside down by the world government. Also that ancient robot is giving me Castle in The Sky vibes.Ā

on twitter you said "Totk being one big nod to laputa is driving me insane I fucking love art bro" and yea ive been thinking about it, especially with the thing where the robots continue following their programming long after their creators have died.
also a vibe i don't really get from totk constructs that i love about laputa's robot is their behavior? like it feels like fictional robots usually either behave like they might as well be humans, or they can behave like robots and have little agency beyond 'they follow their programming (usually hostile)'. but in castle in the sky it's a secret third thing i've barely seen done, for human standards they come off as very detached and emotionless but through their actions they show so much caring about nature and animals. and that's just stuck with me so much. they don't have to put up a faƧade of what humans think 'care' looks like to care about the world
haha hey!! yeah, it's been fun seeing where and how much the zelda team took inspo from it. I absolutely love the direction they took it in, too!
Also absolutely, Laputa's take on the robots really stuck with me as wellā you said my exact feelings better than I ever could. It's one of my favorite takes on robots, I think!
