Kinda crazy how popular deuace would be if the ace novels werent such a niche piece of one piece lore, like if they were made into the next movie I think they would probably become like one of the top ships in the fandom, they have such a doomed by the narrative kind of relationship that I know alot of people would eat up if presented with it.

Potentially unpopular opinion for the ROP fandom:
I really wish people/interviewers would stop pushing the Hot Sauron and Haladriel stuff directly into Charlie's face.
I woke up this morning to drama in the fandom about Charlie (yet again) very politely deflecting Haladriel questions, as if this is some sort of insult to the fandom and shippers. And I know it's not going to stop, but I wish it would.
To make it very explicitly clear, make all the stupid sexy Sauron and Hot Sauron memes and jokes you want within the fandom. Ship Haladriel to your heart's content and create glorious fanfiction and fanart of them making out as they ride into the sunset (or as they simultaneously attempt to kill each other, if that's your vibe). All great. All fantastic. Everyone knows I'm a huge fan of sexy Sauron both inside and outside the ROP fandom, and I am a thorough Haladriel enjoyer at this point.
But I really, really, really wish people would stop pushing it on Charlie himself.
It just makes me so sad and uncomfortable for him. I saw the interview yesterday that I'm pretty sure was what caused everyone to be up in arms where he was being shown Sauron memes and fan posts and a lot of them were very Haladriel/shippy. He is obviously SO uncomfortable with those and the "Hot Sauron" comments. You can see it in the difference between how he answers questions about Sauron's motives or psyche or his research into Tolkien and how his eyes light up and he gets so animated and he just starts gushing vs when he's asked for the millionth time if Sauron has feelings for Galadriel and he gets quiet and reserved and gives a short, diplomatic answer.
And he's been so gracious and polite to the shippers and about all the shipping questions that he keeps getting asked. Each time, he gives basically the same answer: that he doesn't personally see it as romantic but that he's happy people care enough about the characters and story to be passionate about what they see in it. He's not going to suddenly flip a switch and start passionately shipping Haladriel.
I personally like to view it as Sauron (particularly as Halbrand) having some genuine feelings for Galadriel: genuine sense of connection, genuine sense of shared purpose, genuine attraction on both a spiritual and physical level, and yes, even some genuine admiration and love, mixed in with the complex mess of other things Sauron feels, which is why he's a great, complicated villain. The fact that this doesn't 100% line up with everything Charlie has said that he feels about the character is fine with me. I respect Charlie's opinions and the clear thought he's put into portraying that character. But I can also have my own thoughts and perceptions of the character and story apart from that, without needing him to validate them.
I know this isn't the first time an attractive man playing a charming, sexy villain has been inundated by thirsty fans (I remember Loki's Army very clearly) and that some level of it is to be expected. But he's clearly put such thought into portraying Sauron and I'm so grateful to him for that, so I'm sad to see him having uncomfortable questions shoved at him that reduce everything he's done to "what do you think of being Hot Sauron?" and "Do you think Sauron and Galadriel should kiss?" And I'm even sadder to see fans reacting negatively to him simply because he won't validate a particular ship or perspective.
From everything I've heard of fans who have gotten the opportunity to meet him, he's an absolute sweetheart and very kind and appreciative towards his fans. I hope dearly that I can meet him some day and tell him how important it was to me to see Sauron portrayed on screen as such a wonderfully complicated character. But I truly hope that the constant barrage of nagging for him to openly endorse Haladriel and the backlash whenever he gives one of his reserved, diplomatic answers about shipping doesn't sour him to his fanbase. He's given us a gift that I wouldn't have even dared dream of only a few years ago; why can't we focus on that instead of whether or not he's enthusiastically pro-Haladriel or not?

Drifting Stars AU: Mabel gets sucked into the portal before Stanford could come out and the portal shuts down, leaving her in that dimension with Ford while Stan and Dipper have to find a way to turn that portal back on.
(New one that I just saw) Reverse Drifting Stars AU: Ford comes back but the portal doesn’t turn off and it’s Stan and Dipper that get sucked in instead (although from the comment I read, it was just Dipper that gets sucked in which is also heartbreaking).
Other Gravity Falls AU’s if you’re confused>
Reverse Falls AU: their personalities are reversed and instead of the happy silly Pines family that you know and love, they’re the manipulative arrogant Gleeful family that everyone hates. The Pines (read: The Gleefuls) are cold-hearted and (in most cases) has the Reversed-version of Bill wrapped around their finger. Reversed-Bill Cipher (named Will Cipher) is a whiny, sensitive, baby-like version of the dream demon.
Fight Falls AU: Everything is almost the same, except for the fact that Mabel and Dipper can fight well. They got into a lot of trouble at their school and was sent to Gravity Falls so that more trouble wouldn’t happen. Dipper and Mabel are great fighters and have a much more sensitive temper but Dipper is still a nerd and Mabel still has a fun imagination (Just more secretly) Bill Cipher (Named Kill Cipher) loves violence—which isn’t out of character—and is mostly there to not only torment the town but also encourage the twin’s violent nature.
Monster Falls AU: Everyone’s a creature! You can switch up what creatures these characters are but most of the fandom has agreed that Dipper is a deer centaur , Mabel is either a mermaid or a unicorn, Stanley is a gargoyle, Ford is a Greek-style Sphinx, Wendy is a werefox or a moth-person, Soos is a clay golem, Gideon is usually a vampire, Pacifica is either a gorgon or a unicorn, Robbie is a zombie, etc. Bill Cipher is a humanoid hunter with a triangle-shaped head.
Reunion Falls AU: this is Mabel and Dipper but they’re separated at birth. Dipper usually lives in the mystery shack and it’s Mabel that visits years later for the summer.
Relativity Falls AU: Everyone’s age and role is switched. Stanford and Stanley are now the young pine twins going to visit their great uncle Dipper and great aunt Mabel (or just Great Aunt Mabel if you decide to have Dipper lost in the portal) for the summer. (Personal favorite simply because I like the older Mabel and younger Stanley dynamic).
Nightmare Falls AU: In this one, Dipper and Mabel are raised by Bill Cipher in a dimension called the nightmare dimension, and are demons. Dipper is depicted as popular but mean, only cares about helping his twin and causing chaos. Mabel is depicted as shy, creative, and secretly more powerful than she lets on (although they are both supposed to be equally powerful but whatever). Bill Cipher, their adoptive parent, encourages their violent and chaotic tendencies. Not many people touch up on this AU. But many should.
Transcendence AU: This one is really popular. If you’ve been in the fandom for longer than a year, you might’ve heard of it. The story often changes but apparently in the original version, Bill dies due to the Transcendence. Before he passes, he leaves a small part of himself in Dipper who turns into a demon. Or half-demon. I think this is where the whole ‘Alcor the dreambender’ thing began (Even though Dipper’s Demon name would just be Ursa Major and he’d be a star demon).
Demonic Twins AU: This time, the twins switch with Bill Cipher. So now Bill Cipher is Bill Pines (maybe Will is there too) and Gideon summons two demons, Mabel and Dipper, who are evil but aren’t as chaotic as the original Bill.
Crystal Falls AU: literally just the Steven Universe mixed with Gravity Falls. They all have different gems and such. I can’t exactly explain it, considering the fact that I’ve never read this AU nor have I watched Steven Universe, but it’s as it sounds.
ANYWAYS THATS ALL FOR NOW, YOU CAN USE THIS POST IF YOU WANT TO TRY AND REMEMBER. LET ME KNOW IF I MISSED ANY AND ILL MAKE EDITS!

Hmm, you know, a while back Viv liked a tweet that was something along the lines of "alastor has yet to get got by the power of friendship"
I'm just wondering who at the hotel he is going to connect with and break his barriers. Charlie? A safe bet, but she is too naive for Al to trust her with sensitive information at the moment. The crew in general? I don't think Alastor would suddenly give his trust to multiple people at once.
Based off old art, I wonder if the person Al ends up befriending and "getting got by" is Lucifer. The misandrist changes his mind after befriending a man, and the ruler of hell changes his mind after befriending a sinner.
-N
Lucifer would be an interesting choice, considering Alastor and Lucifer are Vivzie's No. 1 and No. 2 favourite characters on the show. It would make sense that Vivzie would want them to get along eventually. However, friendship for them in canon would take a lot more work than if it were someone else at the hotel. Lucifer hates sinners because he believes that their misuse of his gift is what ruined his life. If they had just used the gift perfectly, then all of heaven would have seen that his ideas were right, and he wouldn't have been kicked out of heaven. Alastor, on the other hand, has had enough of dealing with elitist white men who looked down on him when he was a mixed-race human living in the 1920s. Lucifer, with his white skin, blond hair and elitist attitude, likely feels no different from such people to Alastor. I still believe that with character growth, they are going to get to a point where they both get along, because I don't see Vivzie leaving her favourites as enemies forever.
For potential friendship consideration, I would also like to consider Angel Dust. They both have negative experiences with the Vees, who are going to be the main antagonists for Season 2. This might give them something to bond over. Alastor's soul is also owned by someone, which could give him an understanding of Angel Dust's situation. I would like this as it would give some life to the Radiodust fandom, which has not been as strong since the show aired. I would love some more platonic radiodust.
I am not mentioning any of Alastor's current friends, cause I'm not sure they would count for the purpose of this conversation. However, if it is to be one of his current friends, it would definitely be Niffty. She is his number one girl, and they are always together in merch. In the latest one for Pride merch, she is practically his personal ally.
Thank you for the ask. Sorry for the late response.

I really hate how much this fandom ignores Peter as being part of the group because he betrayed the Potters (and when they do include him he's treated like shit), so here are my favorite Peter hcs cause he's one of my fav characters and doesn't get enough attention!!
he's amazing at herbology and loves plants + him tutoring the others in it because he and James are the only ones who give a damn about it (James' mum adores gardening and he helped her a lot growing up)
he is a fiend for green clothes and wears green (sage greens particularly) c o n s t a n t l y
he had braces starting the summer after third and ending in early to mid fifth (he was lucky enough to not need headgear though)
James and Sirius affectionately called him "brace-face" and "tin-grin" during that time
he, James, and Marlene all grew up together and Euphemia's love for gardening got him started with his love of plants (he always takes time to talk to her about his new plants when they all go to the Potter's for the hols and she thinks it's just the sweetest)
probably smoked weed
ok he definitely smoked week
aroace but doesn't have the labels to properly describe it cause it's the 70s
doesn't quite understand gay people (or romance in general but he gets that slightly more) but if it makes his mates happy then it's cool by him!
he and James are the sole reasons Remus and Sirius regularly consume meals
has major anxiety but also a fuck it we ball mentality (one of my favs! it's so fun to play with how they mix for him!! highly recommend)
really fucking funny but doesn't talk much so no one outside of his friends know about his absolute wicked sense of humor
he either remembers every word of a conversation you had with six years ago or doesn't remember even talking to you two days ago. there is no in between and there is no way of telling which you'll get
he probably had a lazy, orange cat who ONLY liked him and Sirius
yum bagels
struggles with words but will randomly say the most eloquent, wise old man esque shit ever and then goes back to stuttering
reads books with Remus and Lily!!
wore green to a quiddich match against slytherin once and James and Sirius stole everything off his bed and hid it from him for a week (he just cuddled with Remus every night)
loves baking and cooking but is pants at it (he's getting better though!!)
can convincingly bark like a dog???
probably cried to Lily a couple times because 'why are his friends so fucking oblivious??'
makes fun of his friends unprovoked, constantly
literal god at chess (only time he loses is when he pretends to while teaching underclassmen)
insanely good at photography!!
asfhgfsfdaaa
I love him sm and have so many more so if you're interested don't be afraid to send an ask :)

Some thoughts on The Mummy (1999)
Taking a break from reading every single Rick/Evie fic (and also a goodly number of the Ardeth/Rick/Evie fics) on Ao3 to jot down some musings, in no particular order.
- I subscribe to @tinydooms ‘s chronology of events, in which the battle at Hamunaptra between Rick’s FFL regiment and the Tuaregs takes place in 1919 and the main action of the first film takes place in 1922. This jives much better with what we know/can infer about Rick and Jonathan’s backgrounds, as well as the fact that Rick and Evie have an 8-year-old son in 1933.
- Like many other Millennials, this film was my bisexual awakening; although I was not able to articulate that fact until many years later. I have not yet been able to articulate WHY, though. There’s the obvious fact that 99% of the cast is too beautiful for words, but it goes deeper than that. Watch this space for more musings on that subject.
- Rick and Evie sparked my undying love for the Battle Couple trope. They fit that trope in a more conventional way in The Mummy Returns, but it’s there in The Mummy as well: Evie pulling Rick out of the way on the boat so his head doesn’t get blown off; Rick keeping Imhotep busy so Evie has time to find the incantation in the Book of Amun-Ra that will kill him for good; Evie subtly communicating to Rick that “there are other places to dig” during the stand-off with the Americans; Rick softly and carefully tending to Evie after the skirmish with the Medjai, etc.
- Rick and Evie also both fit and subvert the “she’s the brains, he’s the brawn” trope. Of the two of them, Rick is clearly the muscle. He’s six-foot-two, built like a brick shithouse, clearly knows a lot about guns (not only how to use them but how to care for them too - see the scene on the boat where he’s cleaning and loading his guns while talking to Evie) and is a skilled brawler. But he is NOT unintelligent. He speaks French, and I would bet money that he speaks Arabic as well. He knows how to navigate through the desert and is able to get them to Hamunaptra from memory alone. And of all the white characters, he has the most intelligent things to say about the Medjai. Similarly, Evie is the one with the book smarts. She’s a trained librarian, can read and translate Ancient Egyptian on the fly, and is almost never out of ideas about what to do next in any given situation. But she is NOT just a nerdy damsel in distress. She’s able to defend herself from the Medjai on the boat and the possessed citizens of Cairo with what is available to her (a lit candle, a poke in the eye). And she’s able to learn gunfighting and hand-to-hand combat from Rick in the years between The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, and is quite competent at both by the events of TMR.
- Speaking of competent, BOY do these movies scratch the itch that is my competency kink.
- I think the entire Mummy fandom agrees that Jonathan is a PTSD-riddled WWI vet. It accounts for him being so skittish and highly-strung, while also being an excellent shot with a rifle (as well as a pistol, so long as he has a bottle of 12-year-old Scotch in the other hand). Someone in That One Tumblr Thread also pointed out that he clearly has training as a boxer: whenever A Situation arises and he doesn’t have a gun handy, his fists go up instead.
- Ardeth BAE. My favorite scene of his is the one early in TMR when he shows up at Rick and Evie’s house when Lock-Nah and his gang are there to cause trouble, and all the cultists IMMEDIATELY tense up and draw their swords as soon as he walks into the room.
- Much has been said about the mix of genres in these movies, but I recently saw a YouTube video that articulates why it all works: the first third of the movie is a historical epic/adventure film, the middle third is a horror film, and the final third is an action film.

not the anon who sent that jay angst ask, but i wonder what it is with the ninjago fandom’s refusal to believe rogue is… not a good person? Like i feel as though we saw him smiling at jenny & barry or showing small moments of care, and then proceeded to ignore the fact that he has a service for kidnapping people and delivering them (bordering on human trafficking) & outwardly kills without remorse. i don’t even mess with jay tbh but i feel like his own fanbase uwu-fies him even as rogue. sure he’s in pain and is hurt but he’s also just… not a good person. He cruelly digs at wydlfyre many times over simple mistakes and even mocks her dead (?) boyfriend i feel like we need to start understanding he can be hurt and manipulated and also show mild amounts of compassion at times and also be an evil son of a bitch without dumbing him down to what we decide is ‘too far’ because what the fandom feels is ‘too far’ for rogue to go also kind of ? contributes to that uwufication of jay? As in there’s a limit to what rogue can do before we deem him too far gone from ‘og jay’ when we’ve seen time and time again that rogue is willing to do almost anything for a price.
and that’s not to say he’s outright genocidal maniac, i’m sure he has some point of what he’s not willing to do, but not for any reason of ‘that’s messed up’ because as we’ve seen his moral compass is way crooked but more so of ‘this is the not worth the hassle/ or this is not what i’m being paid for.’ and very, very light mix of ‘this is kind of messed up.’
we’ve seen him oppose the release of bad people (bleckt) not because bleckt was a bad person, but because precisely bleckt was a bad person and cannot be trusted to aid them on a mission that rogue was (at the time, under the impression) being paid for, which would end up causing problems.
While i’m not the other anon, i do feel it slightly in character for rogue to mock the other ninja especially in a moment of anger (which we know his temper is not only shorter, but way more extreme) but he has the capacity to be cruel and he does take it on more than one occasion, and is flippant response to others pain, even nya’s (at the end, when she’s clearly upset over his actions and his response is a pouty petulant frown and ‘try not to die before you pay me) despite being shown to obviously care for her. Don’t think it’s character assassination at all to hc rogue to be cruel in words (which he’s explicitly shown to be) in a moment of anger
Mmm anon im sorry but i just don’t agree. and im the last person to turn jay into some sort of completely innocent victim but you’re missing the point. yes he would absolutely be a jerk to them and Yes he would absolutely say something out of anger in a heated moment (and it wouldn’t even really need to be that heated) but that ask was about him repeatedly messing with them, faking vulnerability??? pretending to remember Just to twist the knife and laugh in their faces. he’s not just cruel for no reason. He’s not some evil cartoon villain who’s trying to make their lives hell or rub it in their faces that their friend is gone . In no way did i claim he was this misunderstood little baby who doesn’t know what he’s doing but at the same time people aren’t just simply ‘good’ or ‘bad’ . he has more layers to him than what’s explicitly shown. and Yes he’s done some truly terrible things like the ones you’ve listed above, but (imo!!!!!) he’s not getting off on hurting people. The things he’s done have a reason — even if that reason was just anger, pain, or self-preservation. but pure, calculated, sadistic cruelty????? For him to fuck with them like that multiple times just ‘for fun’? . that’s not him. and i think it’s missing a huge part of his character to try and paint him that way

What makes an Undertale AU like interesting and fun to get into?? I’ve always wanted to make one but I’m terrified no one will like it
Ok before i answer i’d like to make it clear that my answer is not objective or correct, i’ll only be talking about my own point of view of what makes an AU interesting to get into (it’ll also be a good idea for you to ask this question to different people to see their point of view, so you’d get an idea of what people usually care about)
So with that in mind, for me it’s the uniqueness of the Au
But don’t get me wrong with this point, what I mean by uniqueness of the Au is whether the Au’s concept take interesting twists and turns, the base concept or main idea can be like other Aus or it can have similarities with other Aus it’s fine
To elaborate further, let’s take a look at “Something New” and “Dusttale”, both Aus’ main concepts are Sans killing everyone in the underground, but this is where the similarities end, cause we can all agree that Killer and Murder couldn’t be further from being different, with different motives, different stories, different characteristics, etc
It’s completely fine if the Au has similarities with other Aus, but what does the Au have that’s different/unique about it? Does it explore something that’s been explored before but with its own unique take? Or does it explore a new idea/story?
To give you an example, @byrdblood ‘s TAU is an Au that I was immediately immersed into, and while it focuses on the Nightmare gang (which so many other Aus do btw), Keegan is using their amazing Au to explore concepts in so much depth and detail that nobody usually explores, which are all also explored through the pov of their own unique character called “Abaddon” (my beloved), who Keegan uses to explore their own ideas, what I’m saying, is that while Keegan is using characters that people have used before in so many stories and Aus, Keegan still brought his own unique take on the characters with emphasis on exploring traits and characteristics that people usually don’t really think of, all while bringing his own new and unique character into the mix to explore Abaddon’s unique story as they try to reach their happy ending (correct me if I’m wrong about any info here Keegan i’ve yet to read the carrd in full hchchcch)
Hell, you don’t have to bring in an idea, your Au can simply be unique by exploring a story through the eyes of a character that isn’t usually used in the fandom, for example, i always immediately get hooked to any Au that has Papyrus as the main focus! I really love Papyrus (and believe it or not, but in terms of favorite characters, Papyrus has always been my number one fave character, i prefer him over Sans actually), so when i see Aus exploring Papyrus in a fandom that explores Aus through Sans most of the time? I literally melt with joy, an example of this is the forgettable Au that I’m shaking with excitement to see what its creator has in store for it (the prologue starts tomorrow OML EEEEE)
But i still want to emphasize again that it’s ok for the Au to have similarities with other Aus, we all get inspired by each other and we all have our own fave things to explore even if it was explored a hundred times before, so please don’t get worked up about whether your Au is “unique enough”, or assume that you have to make up a completely new concept that has never ever been explored before for your Au to be interesting, cause believe me, people will recognize your hard work and the love you bore in your own Au, regardless of whether it explores a unique concept or not
With all this in mind, i’d like to emphasize again that this is all from my point of view, my answer isn’t an objective answer that should be taken as a rule for how you should make your own Au
And i have a genuine small advice, when you make the Au, make it so YOU enjoy it, not so it gets popular or that other people love it, i completely understand the desire to have what you worked so hard on and what you love shared with people so people will also love it, i genuinely understand it, but if you only make the Au with whether people would enjoy it or not in mind, it’ll only make you perceive your Au as some sort of burden that you have to perfect or that you have to make into something you yourself don’t even enjoy just so other people love it
And y’know, allow me to get a bit personal here
But I say this as someone who used to base my art and ideas/stories’ worth on numbers and likes and reblogs, etc, by the time i reached 2021? I actually genuinely and legitimately hated my own art, and it reached a point in which i was genuinely contemplating to quit making art altogether, but then i remember taking a 4 months break from social media after, and in that break, i continued making art without posting at all, in which i would literally cry cause i genuinely couldn’t even love what i made anymore, but i still pushed and continued making art, and it took me 3 months before i started liking what i made again, those 4 months reminded me what was genuinely important, why i made art in the first place, I made art cause I love it, i made art cause I enjoy it
And i made the decision after that numbers will never be my priority ever again, i’d be completely lying if i told you that it was easy to let go of the habit to care about numbers (and sometimes even get back to that habit from time to time), but it wasn’t easy at all, it took time, effort, and so much self discipline, but i actually did reach a point where I genuinely just don’t really care, but do you know what helped me not care? I stopped seeing my notes as numbers and start seeing them as people
Cause even if I get 1 single like or 1 single reblog, it is still one person who took time of their day to like/reblog the thing i made
What I’m saying, is there’s no way your Au will never be loved by anyone at all (it’s literally statistically impossible) even if it’s one singular person, someone is absolutely bound to care about your Au, and please cherish the people who care and love your Au even if they’re few, cause even if they’re few, they still love the thing you made y’know? And would definitely love to see what you do with it
And i’ll be the first, if/when you make your Au? Please send it over, i’d love to see your Au and know what it’s about if it’s ok with you (i’ll also reblog the main post you make about it so more people know about it and hopefully love it)
Good luck with it! Don’t let this fear stop you from doing what you love <3333

why are your kinktober stories all bottom Simon heavy? I trusted we would see more bottom Wille from you /gen
Anon, up front, genuinely sorry if you meant well and are now about to get the brunt of my frustration that I've built up for over a decade of existing in fandoms and fanfic spaces surrounding queer men and their sex.
Ooookay, I try not to engage in this discourse normally because frankly? It's kinda draining, because the way queer men's sex lifes are picked apart in lots of online spaces is not okay and, frankly, hurtful. But, okay:
I have posted 10 of 31 stories
I intentionally don't tag any of my smut as top!/bottom! anything (tho I don't mind other writers doing it - go off) cause frankly? I don't believe that's something that should matter. It doesn't to me when I think of wilmon. Preferences are fine, cool, awesome, both irl and in reading, there are couples who like to do things one way only and there are couples who mix things up and there's lots of stuff in between. People love to bottom! People love to top! People love any- and everything in between and that is great for them. All of that is fun and cool and absolutely awesome if everyone involved is on board. I simply don't have any one way I headcanon wilmon, I literally just go with whatever the vibe is. That also means I don't believe in having to strike a 50/50 balance or whatever. Also because
sex between men (and, since in one of the stories Wille is a trans woman, between all people, for that matter) is about more than anal and/or penetration. I love to read and write about Wille bottoming, love to write and read about Simon bottoming. But that's noooooot all there is. One thing I do try to do with my smut is write about some of the other ways sex can look. Which includes (mutual) masturbation, hand jobs, blow jobs, intercrural, frottage, a myriad of other acts. All of these are fullfilling ways of having sex, all of these don't follow top/bottom "logic" or whatever you'd like to call it. So what do we do about that?
I know some people - not saying you do, this, anon - like to conflate topping and bottoming with power dynamics, be it sub/dom type of stuff, or just... some vague idea of who is superior or whatever. And that very much CAN be the case, I'd argue Wille bottoming in my vampire fic or even Wille during the wax play in the one fic and the intercrural afterwards is definitely bordering sub-y territory. But you know? That also very much doesn't have to be the case. In the fic that includes 69 it's Simon "calling the shots" or whatever you'd like to call it, despite being the one that's being penetrated. I have fics planned out where the opposite is the case, I have plenty of fics where bottoming doesn't have anything to do about being sub or being dom or anything like that. I think there's this idea going around that somehow, (gay) sex acts are linked to power and power exchange and that there needs to be some equilibrium or... justice??? And. No. That's not how consensual sex, be it in relationships or hookups, works in my mind. In consensual sex, there is no disadvantage in bottoming or no need for any of the partners to bottom to fix some sort of hierarchy. Because there is none. Not in the consensual sex of two (or more) partners that want to have sex to have a good time or feel close or relax or any of the other reasons people have sex.
Fair question to ask, just know that I don't write bottom anything for the sake of making a point, I just write whatever feels like the characters would enjoy it in that particular moment in time, whatever suits the POV I wanna go with. I don't keep a tally of times penetrative sex has been part of a story and who did what. If that's a no-go for you, that's fine and I won't hold it against you. I have a bunch more stories coming up with all kinds of dynamics, all kinds of sex acts, all kinds of differently written versions of our two blorbos.
hope this was concise enough and I recognize that I've definitely put all kinds of other, adjacent, points into this, but this gay man right here is kind of fucking sick and tired of seeing stuff assigned to gay sex acts that are just. sex between consenting partners

Good Omens Fan Fiction Friday (5/16/25) - Heaven & Hell
Tumblr media
Good Omens fan fic writers have contributed wonderful stories to the lore of heaven and hell. This is a small selection of my favorite fics featuring denizens of The Bad Place and The Other Bad Place.
Let's start with a fun little cracfic, Send Nudes (T) by xkingevelynx (ebony_dove). Beelzebub gets an unexpected text from Gabriel. Autocorrect strikes again! Short, silly, and fun.
And we'll follow up with a charming little fic by perennial favorite, AppleSeeds. It's The Greasy Pole (T). Shax promotes Furfur to temptations and sends him to Crowley to learn how to seduce humans to lust. Aziraphale lets Crowley demonstrate a temptation so Furfur can learn. And the newly promoted demon proves he's a fast learner. Of course, it's ridiculous and sweet.
While we're on the topic, let's talk about Gormless Seduction (T) by @munchmulch. According to hell, there's an angel who owns an old bookshop. Crowley is sent to pose as a human to seduce the angel and gain important information about heaven. Love the characterization in this fic. Aziraphale, in particular, is amazing.
And finally, one last seduction fic: One Night In Bangor (And the World's Your Oyster) (E) by Atalan/@brightwanderer. Has everyone in the fandom read this one? If you haven't, check it out. At the millennial retreat for heaven and hell, there's a prize offered to the first demon who can seduce an angel. The efforts by the obvious demons to attract the oblivious angels is a riot. And the banter between our ineffable pair is wonderful.
Artist @anotherwellkeptsecret has also created a comic version of the story which you can see here on Tumblr.
@ednav created two of my favorite original characters, the angel Zophiel and the demon Ramiel in Spying Omens (T). The pair are assigned by their superiors to keep tabs on heaven and hell's representatives on earth, Aziraphale and Crowley. The pair come to their own arrangement while doing their jobs through the ages. One of my top-rated fics.
In Mixed Company, or the Corporate Retreat of Heaven and Hell (M) by TheOldAquarian, is a fandom favorite for a reason. The corporate retreats of heaven and hell held every 300 years is a rich subject for storytelling. And our ineffable sillies don't disappoint as they navigate their relationship through the shenanigans of their bosses and coworkers from Heaven and hell. Also a favorite thanks to the delicious banter.
Time for a little break. Recs continue under the gif.
Tumblr media
The Auction (M) by ShadowsRider was inspired by Gleafer art. Aziraphale volunteers himself and Crowley for a charity bachelor auction. Unfortunately, Shax and Furfur are there to bid on Crowley and have put a miracle blocker in place. How will Aziraphale keep Crowley from ending up contracted to hell?
Miracles on the Orient Express (T) by @astrhae has assigned Crowley to capture an Archangel aboard the famous train. Aziraphale just happens to be taking a vacation on it at the same time. The pair are swept up in a Christie-style mystery where both hell and heaven do the unexpected.
Aziraphale is swept into the power vacuum caused by Adam refusing to end the world and becomes the new King of Hell in A Special Place in Hell (T) by HotCrossPigeon and Mirach. I love BAMF!Aziraphale. And this is a great depiction of him--a particular favorite of mine.
The Kidnapping an Archangel for Fun and Profit (T) series by @waitingtobebroken has the new Duke of Hell, Crowley, kidnapping the new Supreme Archangel, Aziraphale. He torments the captured angel at the Ritz, in the park, and other nefarious places. Various demons and angels are swept up in shenanigans that involve kidnapping and trying to foil kidnappings.
Did I miss your favorite fic featuring the personnel of heaven and hell? Reblog and share in the comments.
I'll be back next Friday with more great Good Omens fan fics on a new theme. In the meantime, check out my other favorite fics on this pinned post of weekly Good Omens fan fiction recommendations. And if my faves appear to be your faves, check out my bookmarks on AO3--all the fics I rate in my top 10% of everything I've read.
Don't forget to nurture the fan fic community. Share kudos and comments to show the many wonderful creators how much we appreciate them.

The way people talk about Tsukasa makes me want to murder people /neg
Somehow just because Tsukasa attracted the attention of the younger fanbase, people just have found themselves allowing to dunk on his fanbase because "how dare these 12 year old misinterpret a character that I don't even personally like".
Because yeah it's almost like young people can identify a darker part of a character but overexagerate it because the part that discerns nuance isn't even fucking developped yet. Or you know maybe it's just fun making angst, maybe they're just venting through Tsukasa ?
And somehow these people making angst are somehow more wrong than the people who just act as though Tsukasa is like the happiest guy ever with the least amount of struggles (because how dare he be happy, the only way a person can be struggling is if they're miserable 24/7).
Like it's wild it's somehow the same thing that happened to Sans, it's as though people don't realize that making a character have less problem than in canon is just as much of a misinterpretation than the opposite, you're not smarter for it.
No genuinely what's wrong with people, every other male oc fans get to do whatever and somehow Tsukasa fans are the ones that only enjoy his character cause he's a "dude".
I'm a Rui fan but it makes 0 sense to me how much of us just get away with more because ig it's more acceptable to make angst of rui ????
Like people say "wow people exagerate Tsukasa's backstory so muchh lol", like ok here are the multiple instances of Tsukasa flashbacks :
-Dazzling Lights
-Tenma mixed event
-Colorfes card
-Vocaloid World Link
Wow, yeah really short and rare Tsukasa flashbacks yeah....
And also people acting as though he was fine being alone at home are just straight up lying, like that is a lie the game literally tells you he's not fine blatantly in Dazzling Lights. And if you somehow needed more proof you can dig through the vocaloid world link, his colorfes card or even fucking side card stories.
There's no reason to talk about Tsukasa fans and how exagerated Tsukasa angst is i'm sorry, you're just being a bully and passive agressive to fans who want to have fun. The only time it's worth while to dunk on them is for ableism which IS a problem with Tsukasa fans.
Obviously I'm not gonna police you into what you should talk about but I just think it's really obnoxious and just kinda has been worsening the toxicity of this already radioactive fandom.
Also don't take anything in this post too personally this is just like a scream into the void about this fandom's behavior around Tsukasa.
I'm talking about this also because I literally saw firsthand how just kinda mean people are to others who just have fun.

Hi! So I want to make a Spooky Month OC but I suck at drawing, do you have any tips or advices about drawing characters in the Spooky Month artstyle?
Okay so, I might not be the right person for this, cause I also am not all that great at drawing in the Spooky Month artstyle, but I did some character design at school so I might be able to give a few tips! Please do take everything I say with a grain of salt tho!
Spooky Month's strong suit is definitely character design. It's SO expressive and well done it's genuinely unreal. You might want to know exactly what your character is gonna be doing, or how their personality is gonna be like, because character design in Spooky Month cares a lot about things like these. For example: Radford works at a cinema, so of course he's wearing 3D glasses, but also his HAIR IS LITERALLY SHAPED LIKE A POPCORN.
Tumblr media
So maybe decide on a job for your character, and try to start from there, get crazy with shapes and have fun! Spooky Month characters have designs that are both extremely simple to draw, since they use mostly basic shapes, but also are extremely thought out and meaningful. Another example of great character design is Pump
Tumblr media
Now, I have no idea if you already had an OC in mind, but make sure to choose the right shapes to represent it. Something I see around in the fandom is people making these OCs that are like, serial killers and dangerous people and stuff, but then give them the "Lila"-like oval head. And honestly, nothing wrong with that, that's a choice you can use! But still, shapes allow us to understand a lot about how a character is just by looking at them. So you might want to experiment around a bit!
Tumblr media
Ovals in Spooky Month are the "good" shape, let's just say. Most character with an oval head are sweet, helpful, kind-natured! It's often paired with oval eyes, so it's mostly a shape that's used for not villainous characters.
Tumblr media
Circles are a bit more complicated, because Spooky Month subvertes the Circle Characters. While yes, they're also used to draw children, such as Skid and Pump, so they may come off as unthreatening at first, most main villains, such as Eyes, Bob and Dexter Doll (which is meant to represent the likes of a child, so that's a nice contrast), are mostly circle-shaped.
Tumblr media
There's a very wide range of Square characters in Spooky Month. Square characters are usually bulky, big and strong. They often come off as threatening (such as Moloch), but there are so many other fun things you can do with them. Like, take Frank. EVERYTHING in his design should alarm us, him being square-shaped, the black eyes, the wide smile. Yet, he has a shape of the eyes that's very relaxed and chill, so we end up trusting him. As for Dexter, he's a mix of circles and squares, so we can't really understand his intentions right away, because he's shaped in the most confusing way possible. He's just made to be unsettling and leaving us to wonder if he's a bad guy or just an oddball.
Tumblr media
You can do SO MANY fun things by mixing up shapes of faces and eyes it's INSANE. Also, you can mix up other characters' features to create a new one, if you're planning to do a fankid or stuff like that. Look at Ross, he's literally a mixture of all his parents' features!
Tumblr media
My main tips for drawing in the Spooky Month artstyle are mostly
1) Play around with shapes. Be as cartoony as possible.
2) Try to be consistent with proportions, because, based on personal experience, if you draw the pupils of the eyes slightly off it changes the whole character's expression drastically
3) don't worry too much about details, Spooky Month has a very simple artstyle. You don't have to draw a perfectly anatomically correct hand, just whip up some cartoony three-to-four fingers and you're good to go
4) try to redraw some pre-existing screenshots from the serie to get familiarity with the way Pelo draws expressions. It helps a bunch.
So yeah, that's all! Good luck with your oc :)

Do you think the relationship between Peter and Johnny is part of the reason why Marvel won’t let Johnny come out?
That's an interesting question. My gut feeling is no -- I think because Johnny coming out doesn't mean that they would have to confirm that he has romantic feelings for Peter. It would be interesting to see that confirmed, but it's not something that necessarily comes hand-in-hand with Johnny coming out. They wouldn't have to address it at all. If Johnny were to come out, I think the most organic romantic relationship to put him in would be with his longtime best friend Wyatt Wingfoot, for example. I think inventing a brand new character designed solely to be The Boyfriend ala what happened with Iceman would be a mistake. On the other hand, Johnny/Bobby could also work, since Bobby is canonically gay. But I don't think they would have to bring Peter into the mix at all. (I can only see Spideytorch happening in canon in an alternate universe comic.)
Then there's the fact that, okay, I highly doubt Marvel will ever make Peter Parker canonically queer. (They have a gay Spider-Man in Cooper Coen rather than do anything with Peter in an AU. Nothing against Cooper Coen or anything, I just think it's interesting.) I mean who knows! Things change! But right here and now, I have trouble calling it, at least not any time remotely soon. I think Marvel will probably go bankrupt (again) first. But, in the meantime, they aren't afraid to ship bait with him and other men. Voraciously. The Spider-Man and Deadpool teamup comic was aimed at least partly if not nearly entirely at shippers, and I can't blame them because that was free money. That fandom is huge. And Zdarsky was definitely dangling ship bait for Spideytorch at certain points in PPSSM. Which makes sense -- creators are more aware of shipping and fandom than ever before, taking social media into account. They know what people are shipping and headcanoning. (One Marvel writer, who I am not going to publicly name, definitely implied some things about Flash TO MY FACE by which I mean in my mentions and then did the exact opposite of it.) So if they thought they could get money out of queerbaiting Peter with an out Johnny, I don't like, think that's something that's beneath Marvel. (I think very little is beneath Marvel, to be fair.)
My belief right now, and this is solely based on the timing of some things, is that Marvel believes Johnny coming out would hurt the new movie's box office. Marvel's interests with the Fantastic Four are very closely tied up to their film rights -- they literally stopped publishing the book for three years while they were trying to get them back, because if they couldn't have the film rights, they were going to pretend the Fantastic Four didn't exist, up to and including erasing them from the artwork present in Marvel's headquarters. So if they thought Johnny coming out (which would be highly publicized, look what happened when Bobby Drake came out) would cause enough people to not see the new film, I can absolutely see them making a decision based out of that.

Fic Writers Game
Tagged by @fidothefinch ! I'm getting back into writing after a major case of burnout so this was fun!
Fic Writer Ask Game:
how many works on ao3? 70
total ao3 wordcount? 647,949
Top 5 fics by kudos? As of 1st May 2025
TheBruceWayne of insta (7,738)
Unknown Origins (2,673)
Siren Call (1,180)
Buckle Up (its gonna be a bumpy ride) (883)
Make A Splash (770)
What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Nightwing-centric, but Batfam/Batman to generalise it.
Do you respond to comments?
My inbox might bank up on me, but yes. The answer is always yes. I have an endnote to all my fics telling people what to do if they don't want a reply, though.
Angstiest Ending?
Oh. Heh. I have a few. The one that instantly comes to mind is Nightwing's Final Gift (tissue warning on that). If you want *dark* then its gotta be my death loop series aka Deja Vu (i still have a story -- or two -- to write for that, so take that warning for what you will) (but its definitely *dark*).
Fic with the happiest ending?
Fluffiest ending definitely goes to TheBruceWayne of insta by a large margin.
Do you get hate?
Not generally. I did get one comment that got deleted, and there's the occasional comment that I have to think how to answer... but not generally.
Do you write smut?
Nope. Never will. It's not in my wheelhouse, so to speak.
Do you write crossovers?
Uh, kind of? I do regularly crossover from Batman into his kids comics, and from there into the Titans. And I'm writing a fic rn which will use the JLA... but that's still solidly within the DC fandom.
Ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
None that I know of.
Have you ever cowritten a fic?
No, can't say I ever have.
All-time favorite ship?
oh, that's a funny question. I'm proudly ship-neutral, in that I honestly don't care about ships. You do you and all that, but I seriously doubt I will ever write a ship fic, or read a ship fic. Like I said, ship-neutral.
WIPs you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a long standing fic, CIRCLE II: Between The Cracks. I know what needs to happen, and I can see it my head... but it requires a major action scene, and I'm just ugh. I'll write anything instead of action, lol. As you can see because this has been sitting in my WIP folder for something like ten years lol. (And I have written lots of words to avoid writing that scene, lol.)
Writing Strengths?
Angst, emotional whump, character introspection. Basically emotional scenes, which i think is funny, considering i always find it hard to know what I'm feeling at any particular moment.
Writing Weaknesses?
Action. I loathe action scenes. In fact, it's caused some powerful writing blocks on more than a few fics.
Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?
Love it! Sadly, I only speak English fluently, and I only remember a smattering of other languages from school (which was a long time ago), so... it'll have to be auto translators if I ever do it. Which I know get things wrong, so, there is that. So I generally resort to "so and so said 'this' in that language" which feels like such a cheat. And then there's how to format it in the story, which is another hurdle. Do you do footnotes, or fancy HTML? It's a whole thing. But I love it, and I wish more authors would do it.
First fandom you wrote for?
Star Wars. (First one I wrote, not the first I read, and not the first I published) :)
Favorite fic you've ever written?
Oooh. Close tie between Make A Splash and Unknown Origins. I love Unknown Origins for the sheer whumpiness of it, the detail, and the comfort ending (that I have planned) (yes, its not there yet, but its coming). I also love Make A Splash for the sheer, uh, unhingedness of it... and the whumpy angsty journey i took the characters on. I also love that both fics are leading me into a series. I have ideas. bwahahaha
No pressure tags to participate: @cdelphiki @ckbookish and @sassydefendorflower (Sorry if you've already been tagged!) And consider yourself tagged if you want to do it, too!

Random Thoughts About the Magnus Archives
I feel like something's being said about your personality depending on which avatars you like and which ones you want to drop dead, I just don't know what. Like, anytime Peter showed up, I'd be like "You're a bitch ass, go away." But anytime distortion Michael made an appearance, I'd be like "That's my baby boy!" And there are a few that are kind of in between. Like with Nikola, I was like "You freak me the fuck out, but you're funny, so I guess that evens it out."
I think it's so interesting how despite a lot of the characters not getting any physical descriptions, a lot of artists in the fandom draw them the same way. Like, Melanie almost always has colorful hair, usually blue. Jon's hair gets longer with every season. Helen is almost always wearing purple. I just wonder how everyone unanimously agreed on some of this stuff.
I thought the Leitner rant was a canon thing, so I avoided anything about it 'cause I wanted to be surprised. I think near the end of the series though I finally looked it up and I was like "What!? This was a fan thing?" Totally hilarious though, I kind of felt the same way about Leitner.
The inside jokes are fucking hilarious, like the "homophobic vase." Or we have classics like "I just listened to the episode where the guy has sex with a bug." "Oh, which one?" and "Peter and Elias are definitely divorced."
Seeing what episodes scared people and which ones had people going "Actually, that sounds kind of nice" was very interesting. Like, episode 57 where the guy was stuck all alone in space? Emotionally destroyed me. But then others would be like "Yo, being able to be all alone in space with no one to bother me? Sign me up."
Also interesting to see which Fears scared people the most and which ones they think they would end up serving. I think the Buried scared me the most. Episodes 15, 132, and 195 freaking terrified me. I'd probably end up serving the Lonely, I remember thinking "Oh, that's me," with a lot of episodes, particularly episodes 159, 170, 186. It was a weird combination of "I'm in this statement and I don't like it" and "I actually feel seen." Like a weird mix of being called out and also kind of validated because I felt like my thoughts and feelings were finally being put into words and that meant somebody else had gone through the same thing.
What were some popular fan theories that ended up not coming true? I think I saw somewhere that a lot of people were theorizing that Martin would join the Web before he ended up serving the Lonely instead. People often say Gravity Falls fans grew up to be Magnus Archives fans and I remember Gravity Falls fans going crazy with some of the theories. And even if some of them ended up not happening, they're still really interesting.
I love how a lot of the characters do shitty things, but you completely understand why. Like, Melanie's wrong for blaming Jon for a lot of things that go wrong, but you understand that she feels trapped like an animal in a cage, so she's just lashing out. Or Tim is kind of an asshole in season 3, but you understand because he went through a lot of the same trauma that Jon did, he's just reacting with anger instead of paranoia.
I've been watching a lot of fan animations for this show and a lot of the comments are like "I checked out the Magnus Archives because of this video!" And the same thing happened to me too. Did you guys see any fan animations that made you decide to give this show a go?
When people draw Jon with long hair, they draw him like he’s the prettiest man alive and I love it. That or ends up looking like Jesus or Bruno Madrigal
I see every day things like a spiral shaped object or a spider and I jokingly think “Is that a Magnus Archives reference?” Or I’ll be listening to a song and think “Hmm, that could go in a Lonely playlist” or “Ooo, that so fits with the Vast.”

I want to talk about the comment whose name is too long. That motherfucker. Before anyone goes for my head. I said that Snape built the marauders fandom.
For context, it was a TikTok about 3 fandoms within the Harry Potter one. Which are:
- harry potter itself aka golden trio
- marauders era
- Slytherin boys
To which I posted a comment on the TikTok.
[@Harry Potter Fan:
HP is canon
Marauders is fanon but act like canon and are filled with snaters yet somehow they refuse to believe that Snape basically built that fandom
Slytherin gang is just pure thirst]
I'm not lying. I just know that. Then this person said:
[@ChuuyasSlvttyWaistfanclub 👁🚦:Snape built the fandom??? Do he didn't, the fandom was built off of wolfstar]
Since then I've gone into a deep research on fanfiction.net, ao3 and archive.org
Imagine my bitter surprise when I saw more wolfstar fanfics in the 2000's than snupin. So I did some deeper research into this. I spent about my whole morning on this. All I got were reddit bs from the marauders fandom taking a crap and whatnot. Believe me, I used Google. Couldn't find a thing.
So I turned to look at chatgpt. I now more about the history of websites than I intended. Many of the fanfictions date don't even check out. There is litterally a wolfstar fanfic on ao3 that was made in 1950, it also has jegulus and indian James (that was basically booming last year). Many fanfics there are also dated back to 2002 and 2001, meanwhile ao3 exists in 2008.
(also, no hate to the author's that mixed up the dates. Maybe they thought the date was meant as a setting in which time period their story plays at, I also saw one of 1984.)
So I found it unreliable to search based on fanfictions when authors could change the dates. Then I turned to livejournal as chatgpt offered. That is a hot mess. Maybe it's because I am new but I have no idea how that works. So I landed on 2 answers.
Answer 1: wolfstar and snupin equally gained the same popularity. So neither snupin nor wolfstar began first or built the fandom.
Answer 2: according to chatgpt. It was snupin that raged with it's popularity between 2003 and 207. The pictures posted below, explain it well. But in short. Snupin was popular on other platforms that many fans do NOT use anymore nowadays. After 2010, ships excluding Snape like jily and wolfstar then many many more took the wheel and veered that maraudersfandom into the hotpot we know as today. The fandom that excuses death eaters, but not Snape.
That was the cause of ao3 and Tumblr. I believe even the wolfstar fanfics of back then we're more likeable and nicer than the ones we have today where they yank out all character traits of the characters and call it a day.
I hope this helps. So you either settle with snupin or nothing, your choice really. 😂. So fuck that comment with a too long name. I choose snupin.
Also, believe me when I say, I truly did try to search for other methods. I spent my entire morning on getting to the bottom of this but there simply were no other leads left. So as a measure against AI favoritism. I will borrow another phone, of my sister who is not a maraudersfan at all, and my mom's phone who doesn't even know what a harry potter is. Then go to chat gpt, type in the same question and see those answers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, as promised, I checked on multiple sources to not base it on preference. My sister isn't even into harry Potter a lot, but into lord of the rings. About 5 years ago she was into the fandom but by then chat gpt doesn't exist. Fairly obvious she has no clue what marauders even is. This is what her chat gpt says:

This is the link to what my mom her chat gpt says:
