Their conversation continued to play through Vladimir’s head as he escorted the Matriarch to her home. A coy smile and heavy eyelashes teased him with promises of the night as she slipped behind her door, languidly removing her arm from his own and allowing her fingers to decrease their time apart. She was going in to run a bath… for them both. As the door closed, he closed his eyes for a moment before moving towards his own home.

Dark and still sparsely furnished, the warrior was swift in gathering his things. Chuckling to himself, he was reminded of how easy it was to pick-up and move when you had almost nothing. Sets of armour, spare weaponry, crates of tinkering supplies, and his growing collection of books remained behind. This is still my home, he reminded himself, and I will only be in her’s at night. As he went to leave, a thought occurred to him, a precaution. Grabbing a pen and parchment, the Captain left a quick note for his occasional roommate:

You were right. I need a break. Duty and honour still hold me here but as we know, the nights are my own. I have made an arrangement with an associate in Pandaria. In exchange for a room and free use of his springs, I will be designing and crafting armour for his guard in my spare time. Sometimes a good pounding is good for clearing the mind. The house is still your’s to use, just do not be surprised if you do not find me here.

The walk was short, though the smells of spring and hints of summer in the air, the promises of new life and new beginnings, left a smile on his face. A small click would be the only thing to announce him as he used the key the Matriarch had slipped him in the embassy. A faint splash in the distance confirmed she was already bathing as he went to remove his armour. Standing bare in the doorway, he smiled at the woman, bare shoulders rising out of the tub and damp locks tumbling down her back. Turning to look at him, she marveled in the sight of his naked form for a moment before smiling seductively at the man, “Welcome home, Captain. Come join me before the water gets cold.”
