Chapter 1
It’s been a month since they let you out of isolation for good. Not isolation. The white rooms are called something else, but in your mind they’re containment units because that’s how they’d been explained to you when you woke up.
Still groggy and confused, you’d listened to the baritone voice explaining how the holding cell was designed to keep your powers inside, to prevent anyone from getting hurt. Only when they established that you didn’t hurt people did they let you out. Not let you free, no. Just out. Under supervision and only when they needed to test you for figuring out your powers.
Now, you train with the very best each day to reach the level of your coming teammates and with every defeat, you doubt that it will ever be possible to be good enough. And sure, you know what your role will be: medic and spy. It’s still the big guns that are going to be running the show, so perhaps the pressure isn’t as bad as it feels during moments like these where you’re flat on your back on a training mat. A stern face is glaring down at you although the lights hanging from the ceiling reduces the figure to a silhouette.
“You’re thinking too much.” Agent May’s voice is irritated. Maybe it’s not a phrase she normally has to use? “Off all people, you shouldn’t have to think to figure out what I’ll do!”
Pushing into a sitting position, you roll the shoulders and feel how your body’s preventing bruises from forming. Every hit the agent lands hurts…but there’s never lasting damage because that’s what your power does. One of the things it does. While getting back onto your feet, you try to clear your head, knowing what the woman wants you to do…but it’s like finding the image in the 3D pictures or recognizing shapes on the snowstorm flickering across the TV-screen – everything’s there but first you have to look at it right.
The day you stand before the guys in charge, you don’t feel ready. Far from. The faces are familiar by now and you appreciate Coulson’s kind smile that makes your heart calm down just enough for your hands and voice to stop shaking.
“Gentlemen.”
Honestly, you’d expected more people at this semi hearing-slash-verdict. Maybe Simmons who’s worked hard on determining the physiological aspects of your power should have been present or at least agents May and Johnson whom you’ve spend countless hours getting beaten up by. But no.
Fury’s there, of course, which you’ve started to expect whenever something slightly formal is happening…or if he simply feels like it. He might not be the director of SHIELD anymore, but he’ll damn well make sure to know what’s going on. The only other people aren’t exactly strangers although you’ve never had the chance to really meet them face to face before.
Dr. Banner’s the one you’ve seen most often. The day he showed up to collaborate with Simmons on your case, she’d been thrilled and nervous enough to manually cover the ventilation for the entire building. Admittedly, it had freaked you out too because what else could possibly be wrong? Wasn’t it enough that you’re apparently an inhuman? Whatever the conclusion was, both scientists seemed delighted and soon you’d been asked to assist in the infirmary.
The last man (Why only men?) there’s no mistaking and no introduction’s necessary. Blond hair and blue eyes would have made him the perfect poster-boy for the Nazis but he helped fight them until he cooled down for a handful of decades.
“Please sit,” Coulson smiles warmly, gesturing at a chair standing all alone on your side of the table, “need anything to drink?”
You see the pot of coffee next to the sugar bowl and the creamers. There’s a pitcher of water too, and suddenly you realize how dry your throat is…still, you refuse his offer kindly, prompting an awkward silence where everyone waits for someone else to begin.
Fuck it. “Let’s get down to it.” Your voice sounds much calmer than expected. “How come I’m sitting in a room with Doctor Banner and Captain Steve Rogers?”
The sly smile gracing Fury’s face speaks volumes, but he remains quiet enough to allow Banner’s sputtering to be clearly audible above the hum of the ventilation.
Rogers only quirks an eyebrow at his buddy before turning to face you again. “They told me you were straight forward, that’s good.”
“Why’s that…good?” You hate when people keep secrets from you, and Captain or not…this guy isn’t telling you everything.
“If I may?” Fury finally leans to rest his elbows on the table, one hand cradling an elbow and the other his jaw. “Here’s the thing, [Y/N]. Coulson really wants to keep you all for himself which, I guess, makes sense. But you see…I think you’re meant for bigger things.” Smiling like a shark, there’s no doubt what the man’s hinting at.
“Nuh-uh, you gotta be freaking insane!”
All but Roger’s smile falters at your answer. “Just listen while for a moment, okay miss [Y/L/N]?”
“[Y/N].”
“[Y/N],” he concedes, before continuing, “I get what you’re saying, but this might actually not be a bad idea…”
It’s all planned and not even two hours later are you on a jet flying off to gods know where with Fury, Captain America, and the “sociable version” of the Hulk. Judging by the sun and the landscape below, you’re headed more or less due west although there still might be quite some wriggle-room within that term. Still, it can only be the Rocky Mountains that block out the sun by the time the quinjet descends into an underground hangar.
“Welcome to The Bunker.” Banner smiles endearingly.
Both he and Rogers seem at home the way they lead the way through a corridor and then up a winding staircase size extra large. Whatever the “Bunker” is there aren’t a whole lot of people above as far as you can tell from the clusters of glittery particles that dance with each movement of the person they represent. Calming down slightly you consider the area you arrive at, knowing that it’s going to be part of your home.
Downstairs, on the way from the hangar, you’d passed a mix of a lab and a tinker’s paradise, all kept in concrete, steel (maybe), and glass (probably), but up here it’s all warm colours in what looks like a hall complete with double paned front door to the right and a fucking fountain edged by real plants and even a goldfish or two twinkling in the crystalline water. The staircase continues upwards and to the left is a wide arch that grants access to what looks like common areas, leaving the corridor before you to guide to…maybe bedrooms?
“Welcome home, Dr. Banner, Captain Rogers,” a digital voice announces from nowhere visible, the softly Irish lilt still notable, “shall I inform the others that you have brought guests?”
“Yes, thank you Friday,” the scientist answers unfazed, “tell them to meet us in the living room.”
Heading through the arch to the left trailing after the others, you enter an area split in two levels: highest and to the right is a huge kitchen with the biggest dining table you’ve ever seen. On the other side and continuing around a corner is what must be the living room except it’s the size of three of your old apartment. There’s a fireplace tucked away in a corner with huge soft chairs around it and a bar area on the kitchen side. Throughout the rest of the space, there are coffee tables, chairs, couches, puffs and (thankfully) some well-filled bookcases that serve as room dividers. The outside walls are lined with enormous windows facing the mountains, plains and forests in between.
So, what do heroes like to read? Turns out to be a wild mix of old classics like Ben Hur, Moby Dick, Lord of the Rings, and even the Iliad, but also newer things (thankfully including Terry Pratchett). Some of the books seem to be rather special editions, but you don’t get further in the investigations before people begin draw nearer.
One’s recognizable just by the glittering mass littered with “dead” clusters and lines near the heart. Tony Stark. Billionaire, philanthropist, former playboy. First thing he does (apart from sending you a penetrating glare) is to grab a cup and stick it under the coffee machine, only after that does he greet his returned teammates and Fury.
Then there’s a red-head with positively feline movements, her clear eyes taking in all information in the room and as such assessing you too. Somehow, she seems on guard, as if suspecting an attack, and she says little before perching herself on the armrest of the couch where she’s joined by a guy who looks friendly with faint happy-wrinkles by his eyes. There’s no doubt who this woman is considering that her face was all over the media a few years ago connecting the alias Black Widow to the “civilian” Natasha Romanoff.
A heavy hand lands on your shoulder, making you feel small and very much the centre of attention. “Guys, this is [Y/N] [Y/L/N] whom Fury’s been talking about.” A sweet smile makes the captain’s eyes twinkle down at you. “I guess you already recognize most…maybe with the exception of Clint over there.” A tightly build man tips a nonexistent hat at you in greeting as Rogers continues. “As you know from the file, she can hold a very special role on the team consid–“
“How ‘bout you pretend we didn’t read all read the file?” Stark pipes up from his spot at the dining table.
The elevation of a brow makes Fury’s eye patch shift in disapproval. “Yo dunno what she can do? Maybe yo’d like if she showed it?”
Stark is oblivious to the wolfish smirk playing on the former SHIELD-director’s mouth and agrees to a demonstration. Quicker than you can react, big hands latch on to a slightly oil-stained arm resting on the edge of the table and there’s a dull, cracking sound followed by a delayed string of curses. Gasping through the pain in your own (unbroken) limb, you hurry to Stark’s side and manage to place your palms gently over the broken bone.
The world falls away together with the noise of outrage as you focus completely on the fine silvery particles each representing a cell with a specific set of tasks to do that can either be sped up (the rebuilding of blood vessels and muscle tissue) or slowed (the signal travelling along the nerves from the injury). It takes a moment before the change is visible and you can realign the fracture to ease the healing. It’ll never be detectable in an x-ray by the time you let your shaking hands fall from Stark.
”Wicked.” He flexes his hand and arm testingly. “Don’t break my arm again. Ever.”
You’ve no intention to, both for the sake of not hurting someone else as well as for sparing yourself the pain. Apparently, the skill doesn’t come without a cost and the price is to share the agony of whoever is within range.
Breaking the silence, Banner prompts you to explain just what it is you can do and how. It’s a fuzzy area still, even for you, which basically boils down to sensing and manipulating living cells. Not all. Plants or germs for instance are completely unbothered by it which is good because any living creature within range is visible to you in the glittery form even in complete darkness.
Romanoff is the first to formulate any coherent plan. Maybe it’s because she has a very practical approach to things in terms of what a new recruit needs to learn (weapons, martial arts of various sorts, surveillance and interrogation techniques) and she seems to assume she will be in charge of any training. The captain and Banner only stop their friend to clarify if everyone’s in agreement: will you stay or not. The answer is yes, even though Stark insists that if anyone breaks anything on him to show off any skill whatsoever, then they’ll all be kicked out of “his bunker”.
You’re grateful when Rogers shows you to what will be your room (apartment would actually be an apt description) on the second floor and leaves you to relax and unpack the duffel back of the few belongings not stuck in your old home. Home. Collapsing on the bed, it seems like ages since you were living a normal life of any “civilian” with a job, some relatives scattered across town or at least the same area of the country. Back there, you supposedly have an apartment which is collecting dust until someone is assigned to pack it all in a container and ship it over here…wherever here is.
Now you’re in a room in the Avengers’ Bunker because of a power being activated even though you didn’t know you had it in you to begin with. None of it makes sense. Sure, Coulson, Simmons, all of them really, have tried to explain why and how this had gotten to be and of course you’ve heard about Inhumans before, but it’s always the sort of things that happen to other people or only happen in books or movies. Not to one self.

throws my out of date psych college courses into the ring
so!! as a fun fact, humans actually only have two instincts! instinct here referring to unconscious automatic behaviors that dont need to be taught. in humans thats fight or flight, and suckling in infants!
dirge, as the Dark Urge, has Genuine Actual Instincts, an experience literally no one else in or out of the party has! even druids like halsin only have conditional instincts based on their wildshape, and can break out of them
so in addition to the default humanoid package dirge has, he also has kill instincts, instinctively knowing how to kill other humanoids and when to pounce. this is bhaal's "holy promise of murder" and even without the influence of the Urges, dirge retains the instinct still. a letter from sarevok in the epilogue indicates that the dark urge is also saddled with an instinctive need to sire progeny that also will manifest depressive symptoms if left unsatisfied, but also that this particular instinct can take years, if not decades to actually pop up, which makes sense as breeding instincts in other mammals are usually on a hormone based timer.
its somewhat common knowledge that humans have more than five senses (proprioception, the sense of how our bodies are oriented in 3d space and used for movement and acrobatics, and a sense of temperature), but in addition to those dirge, as a bhaalspawn, also can sense the presence of death and life dying around him, typically a pleasant sensation. as specifically a godspawn made from bhaal's flesh, dirge also possesses the capability to physically sense faith and sacredness, though he hasnt honed it since his lobotomy and thus is very vague and faint. (his eldest paladin siblings, however, have trained and honed that sense extensively)
under the hood, dirge has a denser-than-average olfactory bulb, owing to his sharper sense of smell, and his eyes have a mutated color cone allowing him to perceive a greater variety of red with finer nuance in shades and saturations. the corpus collosum was damaged by orins attack, but has since recovered somewhat around the scar tissue, and the reward and pleasure center in his brain is unusually dense, with specific neural structures dedicated to allowing that part of his brain to be activated externally, owing to a lifetime in the cult of bhaal having the ecstasy of murder triggered repeatedly. the amygdala and brainstem areas are also denser than average, due to dirge having more instinctive behaviors than a normal tiefling, and a lifetime of near death fear activation. those areas also have to account for dirge having unique muscle groupings that behave unlike other muscle sections in his body, and thus necessitate their own instructions (dirges jaw muscles having variable tensile strength for inhuman bite force, dirges leg and hip muscles able to rotate for an on all fours stance)
theres also the changes he made to his own brain, inviting caiphon into his mind and training psionics for years, and then utilizing the astral tadpole to further develop them. psionics for SURE causes changes in brain structure but i dont know if itd be localized to the frontal lobe or distributed throughout the entire brain, but i know that for how heavily dirge uses em, his brain is DEFINITELY showin signs
dirge is this odd chimeric mix of aberrant and divine, beastial and civilized, and i think it rly shows in how his brain just. does NOT look normal, even before he got holes punched in it

My problem with the 3D Fallout's and their carry-weight mechanic.
I mean, the title basically says it all. Right? Let me elaborate for those who may not know. Fallout is an alternate history Atompunk universe where humanity discovered nuclear technology earlier and began investing into it much more heavily, which not only led to an entirely different first, second, and third world war, but basically made certain countries obsolete. The lack of the infamous Red Menace is a distinct thing in the universe of fallout. Instead, what takes it's place is China. The only Country whose industry is able to compete with ours. The early jets of this universe far exceed our own modern ones, they have robots, cyborg dogs, living computers, sentient coffee makers, and a bunch of sci-fi tech that could theoretically exist, and some of it is even drawn from real life! For instance, nuclear cars and plasma guns. Two things which, one was going to be made, the other may actually exist... But on the hush hush. It takes place in America after an all out nuclear war devastated all the worlds infrastructure. Basically the only people unaffected in Fallout are some miscellaneous groups way too far from civilization to be touched. I'm talking Canada, South America, I mean, Africa. lmao, africa would've dramatically cooled down in the Fallout Universe due to the nuclear war. I mean, the whole world would've. We'll get to my personal problem with the carryweight soon, but first, check out this fuck-ugly tank

This has been nicknamed the "Christless Patton" For a lot of reasons. If you know me, you know I LOVE Military history, Alternate history, and EVERYTHING to do with mankinds various armaments. It's basically made in this universe in place of our real life Patton 1, the M46.

I think it's easy to tell what the first problem is with the Christless Patton. The size. As you can tell by this image alone, the Christless is WAY too small to even be operational. The size alone makes this thing a stupid idiot tank designed and modeled by idiots. The twin guns are supposed to be nearly twice the size of the 90mm on the Patton, they are supposed to be 140 somethings? I don't recall and I don't care. But you can tell, like a lot of problems with fallout 4, the tanks are not correct. I mean, the Christless can't even do a full traverse of it's turret. That's right, that butt ugly twin barrel can't even look behind itself and it can barely rotate 45 degrees to the left or right. It's useless. I'll get to my actual problem now, lol.
Finally, the actual issue.
Carryweight in the 3d fallouts is handled with the strength modifier. This may seem like it's obvious for some and for those who are more experienced you are gonna realize it's really really dumb. "oh strength of course cause you have to be stronger to lift more" Yeah, that statement makes sense for about two seconds, in those two seconds you watch a guy put that weight back down. Endurance is the real stat which is required to carry things. Check it, so a strongman can lift 300 lbs with his arms, he then gets tired of lifting it and has to put that weight back down. That strongman weighs like 220lbs himself, and can't reach his middle back. (what a dork) meanwhile, the marine grunt, he's expected to regularly *carry* 150 lbs. How does he do this? Well, it's simple really. Endurance. This marine grunt weighs about as much as he's carrying on his person, 180 give or take, but he trained to displace this around his frame, and carry it long distances using his entire body to lift it. The strongman isn't doing that, and can't do that, those big muscles weigh more than the gear he's meant to carry and he'll tire out in the second round, the third round he's gonna get knocked out. This is why boxers aren't giant buff men, they are kind of schlubby dudes with a little bit of belly and big pectoral's & back muscles. That's what it really takes to win a fight. Back, chest, and legs. And the marines know that. Fallout apparently does not. Strength in fallout measures dozens of factors which make perfect sense. Meanwhile, Endurance measures your stamina, (action points) and health pool. Why is endurance not responsible for carryweight? I do not know. The fallout devs think strength is for carryweight. Strength is for melee damage, bursts of muscular power. You know, fast twitch and all that. If both played a factor I would be happy, it would make the most sense, but they don't, it's only strength. Which is dumb, really dumb. "Ohh you have to do stuff like that for game balance" let me show you how much Bethesda cares about game balance. Look up the Fallout New Vegas Wikipedia article for tweezers and tell me how much they WEIGH! That's right, the TWEEZERS WEIGH A FUCKING POUND. Various other items in the game have excessive weight such as empty tin cans also weighing a pound. Empty bottles, scrap metal, scrap electronics, stuff you or me could put in our pocket and the difference is measured in the length of a quark. Various other items have accurate weight! Stuff measured in the decimals, or stuff with no weight at all since you'd have to be carrying a whole lot to even notice it and by then you'd reach stack overflow and the game would crash. That's my problem with this game, not only do they make ammo have excessive weight, but they make crafting items have excessive weight. "Ohh game balance" WHAT DID I JUST TELL YOU ABOUT THE TWEEZERS???? DID WE NOT JUST GO OVER HOW CARRYWEIGHT WORKS IN REAL LIFE??? I Did construction, I did strongman training, I did cleaning work. I had to carry stuff. I'm good at carrying stuff. I'm not an expert, but I know strength played no factor. Yeah an anemic anorexic couldn't carry a pencil two feet but we're not talking about an anemic anorexic we're talking about the Courier, a guy who canonically has a similar kill count to Stalin. (I hope i can't get banned for saying that lmao) The courier is Thanatos, death incarnate, a man who delivers heaven or hell to those he deems it necessary. Couriers are awesome throughout all of history. So when designing this game, why did they fuck up this badly? I honestly have no idea. And for this reason, I always cheat. I never play Fallout 3, fallout new vegas, or fallout 4 fairly as intended. Cause, it was an oversight, it wasn't intended, nobody was communicating when these decisions were made otherwise someone would've said "hey why the fuck are these tweezers 1lb?" So I make my carryweight 400. cause that seems fucking fair.

Here’s the greatest hits playlist I keep hearing multiple times:

Too bad most of it is dead wrong.
Let’s break it down. Slowly. Loudly.
1. “We were number one before the Department of Education.”
Oh? Says who?
The U.S. Department of Education was created in 1980.
The PISA test (the gold standard for comparing education across countries) didn’t even exist until 2000.
A LOT more under the cut.
There were no international rankings before that. No standardized tests between nations. No way to compare performance.
So where’s the proof we were “number one”?
There isn’t any. Because it didn’t exist.
That’s not a fact, it’s nostalgia.
You weren’t first in a race that hadn’t started yet.
2. “Now we rank 31st.”
In what, exactly?
Because there are two kinds of education rankings, and people love to smash them together like they mean the same thing.
A. PISA = actual test scores from real kids
This tests 15-year-olds around the world in:
Reading
Math
Science
U.S. PISA 2022 ( it’s done every 3 years) results:
6th in reading
13th in science
28th in math
We’re not failing. We’re holding our own, without training our kids for it, by the way (more on that later).
And remember: in 2000, PISA had 30 countries. Now it’s 80+. So yes, the ranking shifted. That doesn’t mean we tanked. It means the field grew.
B. Education system indexes ( like WPR) how the system looks on paper
This is where the “31st” stat comes from. These rankings measure:
Enrollment
Literacy
Spending
Teacher ratios
Graduation rates
System efficiency
That’s not about how smart our students are it’s about how effective our bureaucracy is. And yeah, ours is a hot mess. But that’s a systems problem, because we are decentralized. It’s not a student problem.
3. “We spend more than anyone!”
We do.
Because we’re massive we are the size of an entire continent, unequal, and decentralized to the point of dysfunction.
Want to compare?
Let’s look at some of those “top countries” from the WPR and match them to U.S. states by population:
South Korea (51M) = California + part of Texas
Denmark (6M) = Wisconsin
Netherlands (17.5M) = New York
Belgium (11.7M) = Ohio
Slovenia (2M) = Nebraska
Those countries are the size of states.
They have:
One national curriculum
One funding system
One set of laws
We have:
50 state systems
Over 13,000 school districts
No national standards
Local property tax funding, so rich zip codes thrive and poor ones drown
Some kids go to brand new schools with 3D printers and solar panels.
Others freeze through winter in buildings with leaking ceilings and no library.
Same country.
Same flag.
Two different worlds.
Of course we spend more.
We’re funding chaos.
4. “28% of grads can’t read past a 5th-grade level.”
That number? Totally made up.
It’s pulled from a misused stat of adults that has no national backing.
We do have literacy issues.
But they’re not because kids are lazy or dumb.
They’re because:
Early childhood education is optional, not guaranteed
Schools in low-income areas don’t get the same resources
Reading specialists are being cut, not hired
Many children come to school hungry, sick, or scared
Let’s stop blaming kids for failing systems.
They can’t read when the school can’t even afford books.
5. “The Department of Education is a failure.” Or maybe… you just don’t understand what it does.
Let’s be clear.
The Department of Education does not:
Choose your kid’s curriculum
Write textbooks
Approve lesson plans
Invent Common Core
Control what your school teaches
All of that? State and local control.
What the Department of Education actually does:
Enforces civil rights in education (Title IX, IDEA, disability rights, racial equity)
Sends federal funding to underfunded schools
Provides support for English learners, special ed, and rural students
Administers Pell Grants and federal student loans
Gathers data so we know what’s working (and what’s not)
You kill the DoED? You cut:
Support for kids with disabilities
Protections for non-English speakers
Funding for rural schools
Grants for low-income students
Accountability for states that are actively failing children
You hurt little kids in big ways.
6. “Let the states decide.” Newsflash: they already do.
People scream “let the states decide!” like they’re fighting for freedom.
Buddy, the states HAVE BEEN deciding.
There is no national curriculum.
There is no federal standard for what kids learn.
That’s why:
Evolution is taught in some states and questioned in others
Black history is expanded in some districts and banned in others
Some states offer world class public education… and others? Barely the basics
So if you're mad about what your kid is learning or not learning, don’t blame the DoED.
Blame your state. Blame your local school board.
Because that’s who’s in charge.
The problem isn’t too much federal control, it’s not enough support for the states that are failing their students.
7. “Other countries prep for PISA. We don’t.”
Top performing countries like Singapore and South Korea train for PISA.
They build their curriculum around it. They do mock tests. They align teaching methods with the skills the test measures.
Our kids? They show up, take it cold, and go back to class like nothing happened.
No one even explains what the test is.
And guess what?
We still came in 6th in reading.
Imagine what we could do if we actually prepared.
The real issue? They want to abolish the DoED.
Not because it failed.
But because it does things they don’t like:
It protects marginalized kids
It enforces civil rights
It sends money where states don’t want to
It holds people accountable
Getting rid of it won’t hurt your wealthy district with robotics clubs and parent-funded libraries.
It will hurt:
Disabled students
Low-income schools
Rural districts with no tax base
Immigrant kids
English learners
Students who rely on someone, anyone, to fight for them
This isn’t about shrinking government.
It’s about shrinking opportunity, shrinking equity, and letting kids fall through the cracks on purpose.
So next time someone says:
“We were better off before the Department of Education…”
Ask them for data.
They won’t have it.
But now you do.

art deco got me like
op sneaking around like that was a little wild. he’s usually much too big to sneak. and then the two mechs with t-cogs managed to chase after him so easily really emphasized how much weaker everyone who couldn’t transform was
op did come off as a bit arrogant/self-centered to me, in how he would challenge the system without thinking of the consequences to the people around him (elita getting fired, dumping megs in the race with him) which I don’t think was the intent. but it could’ve been imitating the launch-the-allspark-into-space-and-immediately-regret-it version of op in some of the more recent continuities. It is mirrored a bit in megs as well, like when he fires on the statue without concern for bystanders or on sentinel—they’re both capable of tunnel vision while focusing on their own morals
elita telling op he doesn’t have the touch OR the power. nice little easter egg :)
having cybertron’s environment in a constant state of transformation was wonderful. like this might’ve been my favorite addition to the franchise from this continuity. it added a new danger to the already-dangerous job of being a miner. the train tracks that only exist when there’s a train but also respond in real time to obstacles? whatever the heck was happening on the surface? muah
when the quintesson guards came out at first I was all >:( why do they have legs? but then the actual quintesson came out and it looked SO GOOD AND OMINOUS. it was bigger than sentinel! and the organic curves of the tentacles after all of the blockiness of cybertron felt so alien. really well done. the only thing is I don’t remember it rotating faces at all which I’m a little disappointed in, but maybe in a sequel?
weird to realize they pulled the matrix-disintegration from bayformers, but it just goes to show that every continuity brings something new! I have a feeling that scene was cooler in 3d

having the future-decepticons as the former high guard made me squint a little bc I would THINK that the group specifically devoted to serving the PRIMES might be inclined to follow a PRIME who bears the MATRIX OF LEADERSHIP, but apparently they’re quite alright with megatron’s vengeance and might makes right philosophies? or is this just the remainder of the high guard? did sentinel kill all the truly loyal ones?
did anyone else get the vibe that starscream was deliberately provoking megatron during their fight? like he wanted to see what he was capable of?
screamer’s voice being like that because of megatron + the recurring injury to bumblebee’s voice also due to megatron in other continuities… I am connecting the dots…
other people have pointed out how this recontextualizes starscream’s attempts to replace megatron as leader if megatron replaced HIM in the first place
sentinel’s convenient recorded confession reminded me that the target audience is children and I should be mindful of that
the fight scenes leaning into the transformations and movement… very nice
there didn’t seem to be any reason for megs to switch his optics to red? this felt like a missed opportunity
