Have you given said book another chance now that you're not 14 years old? Since you've gained more media comprehension skills? Do you enjoy books whatsoever? Did you fall asleep in class during chapter 2,then never read past that point? Did you only read summaries of the book with just enough information to pass the class?

I hate talking about my interests just to get immediately shut down by people who know nothing about them. If you have read the entire book that I enjoy and we simply have different tastes in literature, that's completely okay. But if you are going to judge me because you somehow didn't like a book you didn't even READ, of course I'm going to be annoyed and defend said book.

I have enjoyed most of the books/stories we have read in my english classes so far. You know; Shakespeare, Lord of the Flies, Edgar Allan Poe, etc. Of course I want to share my interests with my friends, but I already know what's going to happen if I do. "Hey, did you read ____ in English?" "Oh yeah, I hated it." And then I question them, to which they admit they didn't even do the assignment.

I can't understand, really. Is it uncool to read? Are they lazy? Is it purposeful teasing? Do they strive for failure? Why do kids hate to read?

Everyday I am disappointed by the fact that "Poets and Pancakes" is not about poets discussing poetry over breakfast (pancakes) but about a movie studio and communism

crazy that as a young teen was when I had the most wrist/hand pain issues bcs i just had to write so much and so fast for school that any drawing i did for fun sent me over the limit and boom hand hurty. but then as i got older and had more freedom i have never needed my wrist compression bands again bcs now i can actually allow myself to rest instead of Having to write pages and pages of notes. so what i mean to say with this is that middle school is evil
