Hate having to go to the office on a Saturday (left something there :/), but seems the TFW gods blessed me with a class 197 and a 231 back home later :3

Tapping her quill against her lower lip, Professor Minerva McGonagall gazed down at her seating chart, then up at her empty classroom, contemplating the options. A new seating arrangement for the fifth years was a must, and this particular class was difficult to place.

But as she listed the students off in her mind, she knew which ones she had to place first: James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew.

Immediately, she wrote Potter and Black's name on opposite sides of the room, knowing it still wouldn't be good enough to keep them quiet, but at least this way they wouldn't be able to completely erupt into chaos. However, as she moved to place Lupin far away from both of his friends, she paused.

Black and Lupin had been different lately. She was getting older, sure, but she recognized the signs. Furtive looks and longing glances. Blushing faces and huge smiles.

Not that she cared about these things a a teacher, but...the two of them would be so good together. And they both deserved to be loved by the other, probably more than either of them realized.

Scratching out the 'R-' near the back of her chart, Minerva instead wrote 'Remus Lupin' in the square right next to 'Sirius Black.'

Sure, they would cause trouble. But maybe other things would happen as well.

NOT that she cared, of course.

Apparently North Carolina is the only state with a law specifically banning "malicious castration" as a crime independently of assault, etc. charges.

If any person, of malice aforethought, shall unlawfully castrate any other person, or cut off, maim or disfigure any of the privy members of any person, with intent to murder, maim, disfigure, disable or render impotent such person, the person so offending shall be punished as a Class C felon.

"Privy member" appears to be an old term for the penis, so this is a not a charge that can be applied to any genital mutilation— it's a category of crime which is only possible to commit against someone with a penis.

In fairness, the very next section of North Carolina law does specifically criminalize female genital mutilation of minors with the same level of severity (a class C felony). But unlike the malicious castration charge, this only applies to victims "less than 18 years of age," meaning that there appears to be more legal protections for adult penises than adult vaginas. Based on my reading of the definitions for various types of assault, committing vaginal mutilation of an adult would likely make someone a class E felon (maximum of 88 months in jail) while committing penile mutilation of an adult would make them a class C felon (maximum of 231 months in jail).

Interesting side note: maiming a nose, lip, ear, or limb appears to be a class E felony, while maiming a tongue or eye appears to be a far more serious class C felony

Oh no, the dastardly No-Good Gang has ambushed crowd-favourite wrestler Joe Punchfist while he was promoting his upcoming charity match. He's outnumbered and getting pummeled in the middle of the ring while the officials look on helplessly. Will Joe be able to wrestle his match at next week's Renaissance Slayre pay-per-view, or will those poor orphans end up on the street? But wait! The crowd goes wild as a song starts playing and running out of the locker-room area comes…

Okay so before our valiant wrestler can run into the ring to save Joe's hide, we must create them. And we'll be using the WWF Basic Adventure Game for that!

The game assumes you'll be creating several wrestlers plus a couple managers and even a referee or announcer for each player, but we'll just be making one wrestler. This post is really long so click to see the rest of it!

First we pick a sex for our wrestler (this game was made in the early 90s so you'll excuse it if the terminology isn't up to 2025 standards). We'll be making a girl. For a name I just go to a random generator and get Weronika Sandström. She started wrestling out of high school so for random age we roll 1d10+17, getting an 18.

Then we determine our weight class. We could just pick, but that's not how we do it down in the Vixen's dungeon, so a random roll it is! A d% roll of 63 lands us in the lightweight division (sidebar: because this game is based on WWF in the early 90s, you can't actually make someone like Rey Mysterio in the game, because according to the designer's research there were no male wrestlers in the super lightweight category). Then we roll another d%. A 67 tells us that our weight is 225+1d6 pounds, 231 in our case. This gives us some game stats. Our maximum for the Aerial Tactics attribute is 90, and we get a +5 to whatever number we later generate for it. We have a -5 modifier for lift, meaning that our opponents need to roll 5 less than normal to lift us. Our maximum stamina is 90.

Next are our attributes. There's three ways to generate them: rolling random numbers and then assigning them as we see fit, using points to purchase them, or rolling them in order. And you know how we do it in the dungeon! For Brute Strength (STR) we roll a d6 on a chart and get a 6, which means a 50. Technical Ability (TEC) is 35, Brawling (BRA) is 45, Martial Arts (MAR) is 45, Aerial Tactics (AGI which is short for Agility rather than Aerial Tactics) is 30+5 for 35, Perception (PER) is 45, Stamina (STA) is 45, Business Skill (BUS) is 30, and Constitution (CON) is 45. Our lightweight girl is more of a powerhouse than you might expect!

Then we get to Advantages, which are miscellaneous qualities our wrestler might have, at the cost of lowering our basic attributes. And would you look at that, there's an option to roll them randomly! We get to roll twice and get 98 (Resistance to Attack) and 70 (Winning Appearence). We have to lower four attributes by 5 for the first one, and two of them for the second one. I choose to lower my TEC, BRA, AGI, and BUS, and then BRA and AGI again (I couldn't have lowered the same attribute twice to pay for the same advantage so I had to do them separately like that). This character is kinda starting to resemble the one I made in AEW Fight Forever, who is built entirely around kicking, although she is a heavyweight. For Winning Appearence I choose to be good-looking, and the neat thing about this advantage is that even if I had chosen to be ugly, the effect would be exactly the same and depend on whether the wrestler is good or bad. It says something about how our physical qualities are perceived depending on how our nature is perceived. For Ressitance to Attack I pick Martial Arts, which will halve the amount of stun those kinds of attacks deal against our wrestler. Your kung-fu is weak!

There's also disadvantages, so we get to roll some more, yippee! 50 and 45 would give us the same one so we re-roll one of them and get 39. We have Title Lust and Personal Vendetta. A second roll (69, nice~) means our lust is for the Intercontinental Title, meaning we can't wrestle for the World Title or the Tag Team Title. For Personal Vendetta I'll pick some bad character to feud with, probably someone from the No-Good Gang! We get to raise two and one attributes, respectively. I pick STR twice and STA once.

Now our attributes stand at STR 60 (the maximum for a starting character), TEC 35, BRA 35, MAR 45, AGI 25 (the minimum), PER 45, STA 50, BUS 25, and CON 45. We can now determine our secondary attributes. Our Power Bonus (PB) is the number of extra stun points we inflict, in our case 3/2/1/0 (I'll explain the slashes later). Our Stun Points (STN) are determined by cross-referencing some charts based on our STA and CON, which ends up giving us 200/140/92/46.

Next we determine our build. I want our girl to be of the Large variety (with some curves), so cross-reference a chart and find that at 231 lbs. our wrestler is 5' 8". Then we choose handedness. I try to roll for ambidexterity but fail, so I make her a righty like myself. As my finishing move I pick Bearhug, because isn't it nice to just cuddle your opponent into submission? Based on our AGI, our Movement (MOV) is 2/2/2/1. Based on CON, our Recovery (REC) is 4/4/3/3. Our Fan Support starts at 0, but our good looks will help in raising it! Finally we multiply our BUS by 5 for 125, giving us $125 because it's that kind of game. I'll buy a bandanna, some jeans (cut into jorts), a tank top, kneepads, and a sweat shirt, leaving us with $4. Hopefully we can make some money so we don't have to wrestle barefoot anymore!

So what's with the slashes? To illustrate, here's our final lineup of attributes.

Anyway, back to our exciting scene from earlier. "Sandstorm" by Darude starts playing as newcomer Weronika Sandström runs in to save the day!

As you can probably tell, this is a very silly game. And that's what makes it great.

Jazz had seen the girl around before. She was a pretty girl, with blonde hair in a ponytail and soft blue eyes behind her glasses. That hadn’t been why Jazz noticed her at first though. Well, mostly not.

It was the books under the girl’s arm that had caught her eyes: “An Introduction to Psychopathology”. It was a book Jazz had remembered was for PSYCH 231 which was a class they didn’t have until their second year, and Jazz remembered seeing the girl in her introductory psychology class earlier this week.

The pretty girl was reading ahead.

Jazz looked back down at her own book on Cognitive Neurosciences and smiled wryly. A kindred spirit, she thought somewhat ruefully.

As Jazz looked to the girl who was sitting all alone at the library desk in front of the big manual, she felt a burst of impulsiveness take over. She gathered her things and walked determinedly towards the girl.

“You mind?” Jazz said as she indicated the chair in front of the stranger.

The girl lifted her head and blinked before she smiled. “Not at all.”

”Thanks,” Jazz replied with a bright smile. “I’m Jasmine Fenton.”

The girl’s grin widened as her eyes creased slightly. “Nice to meet you,” she answered happily. “My name’s Harleen Quinzel.”

So we know what those ones say, I however don’t have a fucking clue what the fuck is going on with red. Now I will admit that I have less knowledge on number based codes, so maybe I’m just stupid, but. I have been trying to crake this on and off all day yesterday.

So here are the numbers.

Now my first thought was A1Z26… but that can’t work because there is a 50 in here twice actually. So A1Z26 didn’t work.

Now I am bad at number codes so I went to my friend and they suggested Hex, and I tried that and nope mostly undefined, then I asked the same friend again and they said maybe Polybus Square, but I pointed out that these sets of numbers are set up in groups more than 2, so that was a bust. So I showed it to my fiancé, who just taught a summer class based on escape room, and thus taught kids about a shit ton of different ciphers and codes, some I told them about but others they new about already and some they had found researching for the class, so I thought that they may have an idea as to what it might be. And they took a cursory glance at it looked up some of the numbers, not all of them mind you, and said that they were area codes, and those of larger cities, both in and out of the US. And I was happy to have an answer, didn’t know how I would be able to use this to answer the code but I had something, so I went through and… not all of them were area codes, it actually broke down quite quickly, see they had checked the first 3 and then moved to look at some of the later ones that were different lengths and the “221. 658” group thinking it was a decimal and then told me that it seemed like all of them were area codes. Now we were back at square one. So I have no fucking clue where to go now.

Headcanon + Modern AU : Boromir serving as a member of the school staff. ⚔️

A cute headcanon that started with Boromir. I might extend it to the rest of the Tolkien characters. 🏵️ Warnings: None. Just pure Fluff/Cuteness. Word count: 231~

Classes They'd Teach: Gym/Pys Ed, with Pippin, and Merry as his assistant teachers. Boromir would be a great gym teacher. He's attentive, gregarious, energetic, and protective.

Boromir would encourage healthy competition between his students while teaching them to look after each other. If one of his students were insecure, Boromir would help them embrace their strengths.

Boromir, Merry, and Pippin would give the students free play time at the end of lessons. The Hobbits would bring snacks on Fridays, much to Boromir's dismay (handling a class of 15-30 hyper students and two Hobbits is wild work! 😂). Boromir would have a strict anti-bullying policy.

Age Group/Grade: Primary School (4-8 years old) and Upper Elementary (8-11). Coach Boromir would be insanely popular with the kids. Some would even see him as a fun-loving yet disciplined surrogate dad. He'd ruffle his student's hair out of habit. I imagine Boromir helping his students put their hair in ponytails/buns for gym class. He'd have cool nicknames for the kids. His former students remember him fondly. He finds it amusing that the younger kids think Pippin and Merry are his sons (he may have contributed to the rumor 😅).

Extracurricular Activities/Clubs: Fencing club with Eowyn as his co-coach. They'd have a friendly yet competitive dynamic (Lots of trash talking but they keep it cute for the kids). Football or wrestling coach, Admin of a peer support program, Jrotc (w/older kids).

2025 is the year of fuck it, we ball and in the spirit of that I'm dropping my most nuclear SCP opinion: I don't like the idea of any fanon interpretation of SCP 231 trying to water down the horrors of 110 Montauk, the treatment of SCP 231-1 through 7 or the Scarlet King becoming canon. The entire point of SCP 231 is the horrific, unfair consequences these girls endure because of the Scarlet King and his cult and the moral ramifications that the foundation faces because of the horrific acts of violence they have to inflict on these girls they sympathize with in order to keep the world at large safe. It is the definitive moral quandary of the foundation and stripping away the immoral aspects of SCP 231 removes the moral nuances that give the story of SCP 231-1 through 7 any weight.

With that being said I will say that I like and respect Fear Alone as an alternative interpretation of SCP 231's story because it subverts the initial expectations of horror you'd expect with SCP 231 and shifts the moral quandary to how fucked up it is to gaslight foundation staff into truly believing that they are harming a child. And I especially like how Katherine (SCP 231-7) is humanized and is turned into a character instead of a number. I just don't believe it should be canon because it strips away the immorality that makes SCP 231 a real moral quandary for the foundation.

If anything I think there are ways to humanize SCP 231-1 through 7 while still facing the full horror of SCP 231 as a story, even if you don't want to directly write about 110 Montauk. While I don't personally know how long SCP 231-7 endures 110 Montauk someone could interpret that there are breaks between each ritual and spin the administering of class a amnestics as a mercy when in reality it is a tool to inflict more suffering. And by focusing on the times between each ritual you have time to characterize SCP 231-7 and the staff around her, to show that SCP 231-7 has a life outside of these rituals, even if that life is scary or confusing for her. Then between the transitions of time someone would want to put in this hypothetical story they could imply the horror of what SCP 231-7 goes through without showing it and instead focusing on the medical assistance she'd need afterwards. Even if someone wouldn't want to go that route because it doesn't provide any real closure they could write about SCP 231-6's escape attempt and how she almost got away, or even how her death was faked. Or they could even write about SCP 231-7's escape or escape attempt and all of the ramifications that come along with her escape or demise.

With the more positive stuff out of the way I will say that I genuinely dislike the fanon interpretation of SCP 231's story that casts SCP 682 and SCP 999 as children of SCP 231-4 and SCP 231-7. And yes I am saying fanon interpretation because while SCP files are under a creative commons license this interpretation of SCP 231's story or Fear Alone were, to my knowledge, not made by SCP 231's original author. Even with all of the redacted information on SCP 231's file I don't think any of it is supposed to be legible even if it was put through a block text translator to maintain a sense of mystery. (Trust me I tried putting the SCP numbers through a block text translator and I couldn't find anything legible.) Plus SCP 999 isn't mentioned in the document at all and the document isn't written in a way that would intentionally misdirect readers about SCP 231-7's fate while implying she gave birth. The document is solely about SCP 231-7 and the moral implications of what she's going through. And that's how it should be.

Making SCP 682 a child of SCP 231-4 strips away SCP 682's agency as a character and ties him in with a story that flattens the nuances of his character. If SCP 682 is a child of the Scarlet King his hatred for humanity just becomes this inherent evil within him instead of leaving room for interpretation about why SCP 682 hates humanity even though he has the capacity to befriend SCP 053 and SCP 079. Using a familial tie to the Scarlet King as an explanation for why SCP 682 hates humanity strips away any humanity SCP 682 has as a character and that will always be an inherent disservice to his character.

But the worst offender of this fanon interpretation by far is SCP 999. Don't get me wrong, I like SCP 999, I really do. But I don't think SCP 999 is supposed to be a character, I think he's supposed to be an embodiment of good in its purest form. He doesn't need to be some big hero in someone else's story because saving the world isn't what being good is about. Hell, the SCP foundation itself, especially in this case, shows that being good and saving the world are very much not the same thing sometimes. Being good is as simple as showing a genuine love for the people around you and putting in a genuine effort to make things better for those people. And that's all SCP 999 ever needed to show. Throwing him into the lore of SCP 231 and the Scarlet King as SCP 231-7's child ditches the point SCP 999 originally made about being good and flattens the moral nuances involved with SCP 231's lore in general by providing a cop out solution to the moral quandary SCP 231 was built on to begin with. Plus I think implying that the torture SCP 231-7 has endured was not only for nothing but that her violation directly produced a messianic figure that could save the world from her abuser is infinitely crueler than SCP 231 as a story canonically is now. SCP 231 isn't an incel fantasy like Redo of Healer or hedonistic torture porn for the sake of it like Marquis de Sade's works, it is a piece of horror. And the horror is the fact that these girls are victims that cannot be saved, no matter how much anyone in the foundation sympathizes with them. The girls are not to blame for anything that happened to them but they cannot be humanized by the foundation or else the foundation will not have the resolve to keep the world safe. SCP 231-1 through 7's treatment is supposed to be the blight on the foundation they can never wash away. And at this point I would rather have this incredibly bleak story about these girls than a happy ending where SCP 999 saves the day and erases these girls from their own story, their own suffering.

If anyone reading this doesn't like the grave moral implications of SCP 231 that is perfectly fine, but I would rather you spend time reading or making content about SCPs you do like than stripping away the moral complexities of this SCP to make it more palatable.

To say the least, Pandora was shocked when Regulus handed her a ticket to James Potter’s newest play.

She’s wanted to go for the past month, but ballet classes were too demanding given the proximity of their show, and when she did find some free time, the entire theatre was sold out.

So, she had every right to be shocked when Regulus told her he got tickets for them, because he either had to pay a fortune, or he had bought them a long time ago and he kept it a secret. And not to mention, he chose to go with her and not the secret boyfriend he’s mentioned a million times. Either way, her smile was bright, and she leapt into Regulus’ hug with the biggest thank you.

James Potter’s plays were known to be of perfect production, acting, and performances. She just couldn’t believe they were going to see him and his team live.
