So my workplace is “working on” opening up an adjacent meeting room to help shift-stagger the different departments for breaks, and we will maybe move the paper towel throwaway bins into the hallway to encourage 0-touch tap and door handle behavior on the way out. We’re food chain adjacent so upon reconsideration I’m fine we’re an essential business because at least that’s like. A semi noble reason to catch the pandemic right along with everyone else. Sanitizing the breakroom after each group uses it would maybe be better than 3x-daily but would probably be too annoying for anyone to actually do a good job. I didn’t see any cleaning wipes at the clockinclockout but I did see all the nonessential doors propped open so nobody has to touch the handles... besides closing outright, if we can actually GET the shifts staggered then this is probably about it for what we can do. Which means people are just gonna start getting sick and not coming to work, having been AT work for days while asymptomatic and contagious, and we’re all gonna catch it from our direct coworkers, department by department. Neat.
