Stolas's entire life has been planned and dictated down to the minute details by his father. Go to college. Get married—not just to anyone, heaven's no, someone classy, someone of old money. Someone Stolas can never love, no matter how hard he tries. Work for his father's corporate empire. Have a child. It's utter, torturous monotony. That is, until a chance encounter with a blast from the past throws the doors to his gilded cage wide open. Enter Blitzø Buckzo. He's a rancher with a dream that doesn't take no for a fucking answer. He's built his ranch with blood, sweat, and tears, and like hell is he gonna let anyone take it from him, stacking bills and pressure from Wrathful Agricultural Incorporated included. Finding Stolas stranded in the middle of a blizzard isn't part of his plans, but he's good at rolling with the punches. Unless those punches involve shit like feelings, anyway. They're from two different worlds, and they shouldn't be drawn to each other. But like the moon and the earth, they can't help but swing into each others' orbit anyway. Or, the ranch AU you never asked for.
. . .
Life, Stolas has learned, is an unending parade of monotony. All of it layered in shades of dull and boring grey. Like now, for instance. He sits, reclining in this cushioned, comfortable chair, staring at yet another spreadsheet filled with numbers and projections of the same caliber as the last twenty five thousand spreadsheets he’s ever opened, slender fingers tapping at his chin while a glass of whiskey sweats in his free hand. A flight attendant flits down the aisle, her smile as plastic as they come, her voice all false niceties as she services the other patrons filling out the first class section of the flight. Stolas pays her little mind. He has his drink, he’ll ask for another before they land, surely.
A sigh itches at his throat. He blinks, his thick-rimmed glasses sliding down his nose.
“Good afternoon, passengers—we’re approaching the Houston airport, should be touching down here within the hour.”
Or, perhaps not. The sigh escapes him. He gulps down more of his drink, the familiar burn of the whiskey a welcome spice of flavor against the hum drum threatening to smother him, and opts to close the damn laptop. Staring at the spreadsheets for another twenty minutes won’t be any more productive than waiting until he’s holed up in his hotel room. He downs the rest of the drink, catching the attention of the flight attendant with a mere glance.
“Here, let me get that for you.” She smiles, takes the glass. Stolas smiles back. Perfunctory and polite, the same song and dance he always dances.
He tucks his laptop away and shifts his gaze to the window. The clouds, bright and puffy, drift past, showing intermittent peeks of the unending green down below. Watching the landscape is probably one of the few delights Stolas finds while flying. There’s something utterly fascinating about it—about being so vastly above the life that’s surely unfolding down below. What oddities did those people face, in their everyday lives? What novel experiences did they endure, so far away from the blur of city lights? How quaint it must be, to live in such a sleepy place. Stolas rests his cheek on his fist, tries to picture it—having a house, neighbors a mile down the road…it’s a hard thing to picture. Stolas almost can’t.
Soon enough, the countryside fades away in favor of suburbia, of rising buildings. The city of Houston materializes from the earth in all its concrete and steel glory, and the plane begins its descent. Another sigh crawls its way out of Stolas’s throat. Even the sky seems to mourn the loss of the hills, turning an ugly, slate grey. He leans back in his seat, ensures his buckle is secured. And then he waits.
Thirty five minutes later, and he’s strolling off the plane, his computer bag slung over his shoulder, phone in hand and buzzing nonstop with all the notifications he’s missed while in the air. Emails, emails, more emails, a text from his daughter, a couple from his wife— His phone lights up, the contact for his father emblazoned across the screen. The sight’s like a bucket of ice cold water being dumped right over his head. Stolas goes stock still in the middle of the walkway, hand trembling a little. He sucks in a breath through his teeth, tells himself he’s being utterly ridiculous. He’s a grown man, for fuck’s sake. There’s little reason for him to tremble like this over a god forsaken phone call, of all things.
Stolas clicks the button, forces himself to move. “Hello?”
“I’ve been trying to call you all damn morning. You know how much time I’ve wasted, trying to get ahold of you?”
“Apologies, father, I’ve been on a plane. I just touched down in Houston.” He glances at the overhead signs, following the arrows towards the baggage claim. A sharp, irritated noise crackles in his ear.
“Houston? What in the devil are you doing in Houston, boy?”
A spike of irritation lances right through him. Stolas’s jaw twitches. “I’m here for the board meeting scheduled tomorrow, at our Houston offices.” The very same board meeting set up by Paimon himself, which has been on the books for four months, minimum. Except, Paimon scoffs, loud and derisive.
“No, the board meeting is in Dallas. Really, Stolas, do you not pay attention to anything at all? I sent across the updated calendar invite yesterday , for fuck’s sake—”
A stone drops in his gut like an anvil. “Dallas? Yesterday? You—you changed cities with less than twenty-four hours notice?!”
Another scoff. “Yes? Keep up, boy. Goodness knows, this is why I don’t promote you any higher than you already are.”
Stolas slows to a stop, mind buzzing with static. Dallas. The meeting he’s flown across the entire fucking country for is in Dallas. Which is, what. Three? Hours? Away? A dull throb starts up in the space between his eyes. Stolas resists the urge to pinch at it, swallowing down a sigh. “I will…I will rent a car and be there by the morning, father.”
“You best do so. I’ve also had Rodger send over the entire branch’s quarterly reports—make sure you take a look at those, too. And answer your damn phone when I call.” He hangs up before Stolas can even think to quip back about being on a godforsaken plane, again, leaving him to stare into the swell of people streaming past him.

had another one of those angel dreams lol
this time, they were coming through a hurricane, somehow. much of the dream was spent running around with friends in preparation for the hurricane, buying supplies and whatnot, and it seemed normal at first, you know, like, i spent most of my life in houston, it happens, but that feeling was there, that mounting dread. i kept running into this weird guy who kept saying cryptic things while bringing me things i needed or was looking for. he kept implying that i owed him. i also saw a lot of weird things in electronic devices like tvs or computers, like something was interfering with them. before the hurricane hit, i remember looking up into the clouds in the distance and seeing a glow within, and hearing something about a radiation hazard before the weather people on the radio started screaming.
my partner woke me up around this time to say bye before he went to work, and when i fell back asleep, it was still the same dream, but the hurricane had passed. there were a lot of unexplained deaths or murders in its wake, but everything felt very different, bizarrely normal, like nothing had happened at all. nothing really interesting happened after that, it just turned into a typical dream for me. a lot of my family, interstate driving, wandering around residential areas, that kind of thing.
the really annoying thing about these dreams is that they always seem to pop up in the middle of something else. like tonight, for example, i barely remember what i was dreaming about before, but I'm pretty sure it was like, an old JRPG that doesn't actually exist and its impressive world map, or something like that, like my friend was showing it to me or talking about it or something, and then the dread hits and it's an angel dream again. very annoying. they don't happen a lot, but they do happen, and i never sleep well when they do, even if it does eventually transition back into a normal dream like tonight's did.

Is AI Integration in Mobile Apps Just a Trend or a Game-Changer?
In a world increasingly shaped by technology, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into mobile apps is no longer just a futuristic concept — it's becoming the norm. But the question remains: is AI just another buzzword, or is it truly a game-changer for the mobile app landscape?
From predictive text and voice assistants to real-time analytics and smart recommendations, AI is powering a new generation of apps that are faster, smarter, and more user-centric. Whether you're a startup looking to innovate or a business seeking Mobile App Development Houston solutions, understanding AI’s role in mobile apps is crucial.
Let’s dive into what AI really brings to the table, and whether it’s a passing trend or a transformative force in the future of mobile technology.
What Does AI Integration in Mobile Apps Actually Mean?
AI in mobile apps goes beyond just adding automation. It involves embedding intelligent algorithms that can learn, adapt, and make decisions based on user behavior, preferences, and environmental data. Some of the most common AI applications in mobile apps include:
Chatbots and Virtual Assistants
Image and Speech Recognition
Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Predictive Analytics

Bitcoin Mining’s Great Divide: Industrial Strategy in the U.S., Power Crisis in Kuwait
Tumblr media
Bitcoin mining is no longer a fringe activity. It’s a geopolitical choice.
As the U.S. cements its position as the global hub for Bitcoin mining, nations like Kuwait are pulling the plug—literally. This isn’t just about electricity bills or crypto policy. This is the global energy map redrawing itself around the question: Is Bitcoin mining a strategic industry or an environmental liability?
The answers vary wildly depending on which side of the planet you’re on.
The U.S.: From Hashtags to Hashrate
Let’s start with the numbers.
The U.S. now accounts for 75.4% of all Bitcoin mining in North America, according to the latest Cambridge Digital Mining Industry Report. The reason? A potent mix of cheap energy, deep capital markets, and regulatory ambiguity that's just ambiguous enough to be tolerable.
Bitcoin miners in the U.S. are scaling like hyperscalers. Publicly traded giants like Riot Platforms and Marathon Digital are building industrial-grade operations that mirror cloud data centers in structure and scale. The electricity usage is astonishing: 32.3 terawatt-hours in just a year—more than the entire city of Los Angeles.
This is not a cottage industry anymore. It’s an energy-intensive, investment-hungry, infrastructure-dependent business. And it's behaving like one.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing—if you see Bitcoin as digital infrastructure. If you believe that a decentralized monetary network is a foundational pillar for the next century, then of course the energy is worth it. You don’t question how much electricity the internet uses, or how much steel goes into building highways. You invest, regulate, and optimize.
In that worldview, Bitcoin mining is not wasteful—it’s strategic.
Kuwait: The Other End of the Spectrum
Now zoom out to Kuwait.
Last week, authorities launched a sweeping crackdown on crypto miners, accusing them of worsening the country’s power crisis ahead of summer. One region, Al-Wafrah, saw a 55% drop in energy consumption after mining was halted. The message is clear: Bitcoin mining is incompatible with energy scarcity.
This isn’t unique to Kuwait. Similar bans have hit Kazakhstan, Iran, and parts of China—all of which, interestingly, share a common profile: subsidized electricity, aging grids, and extreme weather patterns.
The hard truth? Bitcoin mining only thrives where electricity is abundant, cheap, and available on demand. That’s a narrow set of conditions, and the divide is widening. On one side, we see countries turning mining into policy. On the other, we see outright prohibition driven by necessity.
The Air We Don’t Breathe
But even in places where mining is welcome, it's not without cost.
A new study from Harvard shows that U.S. Bitcoin mines, while not necessarily polluting their immediate surroundings, are causing measurable air quality degradation in cities like New York, Houston, and Chicago. Why? Because most of their power is still coming from fossil fuel plants located hundreds of kilometers away.
In fact, 84% of the electricity consumed by U.S. mining operations comes from fossil fuels. And while 52.4% of operations claim to use some form of sustainable energy, the net result is still large-scale pollution, dispersed and largely invisible to the public.
Here’s the uncomfortable paradox: The more mining becomes professionalized and centralized, the more its externalities scale too.
Mining’s Social License Is Under Review
The environmental data is damning—but it’s not the death knell. It’s a call to clarify Bitcoin’s social value proposition.
Cloud computing has a clear, mainstream utility. AI models, productivity apps, streaming services—we tolerate their energy use because we understand their impact. Bitcoin? Still polarizing.
That’s not a tech problem. That’s a narrative problem.
If Bitcoin is just an asset, critics will argue it’s not worth the smog. But if Bitcoin is a tool for monetary sovereignty, censorship resistance, and financial inclusion, then it begins to look like a public good. One worthy of energy, investment, and even regulation.
But to reach that point, the mining industry needs to stop hiding behind opacity and start proving its value—not just to holders, but to communities, regulators, and skeptics.
The Road Ahead: Polarization, Not Convergence
What we’re witnessing isn’t just a mining boom. It’s the fragmentation of the global consensus on Bitcoin itself.
The U.S. is doubling down on mining as a pillar of financial and energy policy. In places like Texas, miners are increasingly seen as grid balancers, capable of shutting off during peak loads and earning credits through demand response programs. The “Bitcoin as battery” thesis is gaining traction, even if the tech isn’t quite there yet.
Kuwait and others are saying: we simply can’t afford this. Their power grids are under siege, their summers are getting hotter, and their margins for error are razor-thin. Bitcoin is a luxury they can’t rationalize.
This tension will only grow.
As the Bitcoin halving increases the pressure to operate at scale, smaller miners in energy-stressed nations will be squeezed out. What’s left will be a concentrated, heavily capitalized industry, likely headquartered in the U.S., Canada, and parts of Northern Europe.
That’s good for hash rate security. But it also means Bitcoin’s touted decentralization is increasingly technical, not geographic.
Bitcoin Mining Becomes a Regulated Utility in the West
In five years, Bitcoin mining in the U.S. will look a lot like natural gas pipelines or nuclear plants: regulated, integrated into grid planning, and maybe even state-subsidized in some jurisdictions. Red states will champion it as energy arbitrage; blue states will demand carbon offsets and environmental disclosures.
Either way, mining becomes part of the system.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world will bifurcate:
Countries with energy surplus will court miners and integrate them into industrial policy.
Countries with scarcity will ban it or severely constrain it.
And the global South will be forced to choose: do we mine Bitcoin, or do we keep the AC running?
Bitcoin is global. Energy is local. And that mismatch is only getting sharper.
Mining isn’t going away—but where and how it happens will shape Bitcoin’s next decade far more than any ETF or memecoin.
The only question that matters: Is Bitcoin worth the watts?

Harnessing the Power of AI: How Businesses Can Thrive in the Age of Acceleration
Tumblr media
Introduction
AI adoption has surged by 270% since 2015, reshaping industries in ways once thought impossible. The Houston Chronicle reported this shift, pointing out how fast AI moves from idea to reality. Over the past ten years, AI has grown from a research topic to a key part of business strategy. It automates simple tasks and digs deep into data for insights. Yet many companies struggle to use it well. This article gives you a clear, step-by-step guide to make AI work for your business. It’s for executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals ready to act.
Why should you care? Three reasons stand out. First, companies using AI gain an edge in speed, new ideas, and customer happiness. Second, AI tools are now within reach for all, not just big players. Third, AI changes more than profits—it affects jobs, ethics, and rules you must follow.
By the end, you’ll know AI’s past, present, and future. You’ll see real examples of wins and losses. Plus, you’ll learn how 9 Figure Media helps brands lead with AI and get noticed.
Historical Background and Context
1. Early Foundations (1950s–1970s)
AI started in the 1950s with big thinkers asking: Can machines think? Alan Turing kicked things off in 1950 with his paper on machine intelligence. He created the Turing Test to check if machines could act human. In 1956, John McCarthy ran the Dartmouth Workshop, naming the field “Artificial Intelligence.” Early work built systems that followed rules, like the Logic Theorist, which proved math theorems.
Key dates:
1950: Turing’s paper sets the stage.
1956: Dartmouth makes AI official.
1966: ELIZA, a basic chatbot, talks to people.
2. AI Winters and Renewed Optimism (1970s–1990s)
Excitement faded fast. Computers lacked power, and hopes ran too high. Money dried up in the 1970s and 1980s, causing “AI winters.” But these slow years brought progress. Judea Pearl built Bayesian networks in the 1980s to handle uncertainty. By the 1990s, machine learning took off with tools like decision trees, focusing on data over strict rules.
Tumblr media
3. Big Data, Deep Learning, and Commercialization (2000s–2010s)
The 2000s changed everything. Data poured in from social media, sensors, and online shopping. New tech, like GPUs, powered deep neural networks. Big wins followed:
2011: IBM Watson beats humans on Jeopardy!
2012: AlexNet masters image recognition.
2016: AlphaGo outsmarts a Go champion.
Businesses jumped in. Streaming services recommended shows. Banks spotted fraud. Factories predicted machine breakdowns.
4. The Era of Generative AI and Democratization (2020s–Present)
Now, AI creates content—text, images, even music. Tools like GPT models write like humans. Cloud services and simple platforms let anyone use AI, no coding needed. Examples:
Health+ magazine boosted engagement 40% with personalized content.
A clothing brand cut overstock 25% with trend forecasting, as Women’s Wear Daily noted.
Part 1: The Breakneck Speed of AI Development
1. Why AI Is Accelerating
Advances in Computing Power
Old rules like Moore’s Law slow down, but new tools step up. GPUs and TPUs handle AI tasks fast. NVIDIA says GPU shipments for AI jumped 80% in 2022. Quantum computing, still early, promises even bigger leaps.
Explosion of Data and Algorithmic Innovation
Data grows daily—175 zettabytes by 2025, says IDC. New algorithms learn from it without much help. Transformers, born in 2017, process long chunks of data, powering language and image tools.
Global Investment Surge
Money flows into AI. The U.S. gave $1.5 billion to AI research in 2020. Private cash hit $93.5 billion for startups in 2021, per CB Insights. Big firms like Amazon and Microsoft buy startups and build AI labs.
Tumblr media
2. Key Trends Redefining Business
Hyper-Automation: Beyond RPA
Basic automation follows rules. Hyper-automation adds AI to tackle messy data and decisions. A logistics company cut invoice errors 90% and halved processing time with it.
Democratization: AI for Everyone
Simple platforms like DataRobot let non-tech staff build models. Women’s Wear Daily shows fashion brands using these to predict demand and tweak marketing.
Real-Time Intelligence: The New Norm
Old reports can’t keep up. AI adjusts pricing and analytics on the fly. A travel agency raised revenue 12% with real-time pricing.
What’s next? Part 2 looks at AI’s impact—gains, risks, and must-dos.
Part 2: The Dual Impact of AI on Business
AI offers big wins but punishes delay. Here’s the breakdown.
1. Opportunities
a. Efficiency and Cost Savings
AI simplifies tough jobs. A retail chain in the Houston Chronicle cut stockouts 45% and saved 20% on inventory costs with forecasting. Health Men’s magazine sped up editing 60%, lifting ad sales. Andrew Ng, ex-Google Brain leader, says AI builds lean companies.
b. Enhanced Customer Experience
AI tailors everything. Chatbots answer fast. Netflix ties 75% of watch time to recommendations. Online stores see orders rise 10-15% with smart suggestions.
c. Innovation and New Revenue Streams
AI opens doors. A SaaS firm, with 9 Figure Media’s help, turned analytics into a subscription, growing revenue 25% in six months. Smart products feed data back, keeping customers hooked.
2. Risks of Inaction
a. Disruption by Agile Competitors
Blockbuster ignored streaming and collapsed. Today, AI startups outpace slow movers. Act late, and you lose.
b. Talent Gaps and Cultural Resistance
MIT Sloan says 58% of leaders lack AI skills in-house. Without training, teams fall behind.
c. Ethical, Legal, and Regulatory Pitfalls
AI can mess up—bias or privacy slips hurt brands. GDPR fines in Europe top €1.1 billion. Get ethics and rules right early.
Part 3: Taking Control—Strategies to Future-Proof Your Business
1. Build an AI-Ready Culture
Upskill and Reskill
Train everyone. A goods company taught 5,000 workers data basics online.
Human-AI Collaboration
Let AI crunch numbers while you plan. 9 Figure Media’s team drafts PR with AI, then edits, boosting output 40%.
2. Adopt a Strategic Roadmap
Audit Workflows
Check every process. Find spots for AI—like speeding up invoices or sales leads.
Vendor vs. In-House
Use vendors for speed, build your own for control.
