OKA—Young Justice Time!

I’ve said once or twice before that I was hammering out which characters I would be including in each generation of YJ, and now I’ve done just that, and I am going to share what I landed on with you :3 (Sorry I don’t have finished posters for them yet tho…)

First off, just to make sure we all have the timeline straight, we have the Mighty Teen Titans, founded by Robin (Dick Grayson), Kid Flash (Wally West), and Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) initially. The other members include Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, and Cyborg.

Then some time goes by, Cyborg gets promoted to The Justice League, and then the second wave of the Teen Titans hits, primarily founded by Robin III (Tim Drake). Other members include Spoiler, Wonder Girl II (Cassie Sandsmark), Aqualad II (Kaldur’ahm), Superboy (Conner Kent), Impulse, and Miss Martian.

While they are doing that, the old TT are founding Young Justice. As said before, Cyborg got to jump straight to being a JLA member (he was the oldest of all the OG TT by a few years anyway) which just leaves us with Dick Grayson (now going by Nightwing), Donna Troy (now going by Troya—idk, “Troia” looks weird), Starfire, Kid Flash, Beast Boy, and… maybe Raven? I can’t decide if I want her to stay or ride off into the sunset after defeating Trigon… but then who gets her spot? Is it Terra? Do we make her a fully fledged member? For the life of me I can’t decide. Would love feedback. Anyway, new members include Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Bumblebee, Aqualad (Garth), and Speedy.

So that’s that.

Fast forward a few more years and we get to the next phase. At this point, the Teen Titans are an institution, and Robin V (Damian Wayne) assumes command of a new team comprised of Superboy II (Jonathan Kent), Static Shock, Blue Beetle, Princess Amethyst, Jenny Hex, and Aquagirl II (Lorena).

And while that’s going on, Tim (now going by Red Robin) leads the next generation of Young Justice along with Aqualad II, and Miss Martian. Returning characters include Spoiler, Cassie Sandsmark (now going by Olympia), Impulse, and Superboy (who needs a new codename). New characters are Solstice, Hotspot, Batgirl II (Cassandra Cain) and Arrowette/Artemis from the YJ cartoon—yes, I’m basically mushing the two together because reasons, and she may be more of a sometimes character. You know? Kinda morally ambiguous at first, and a sometimes member. Potentially, since Cassandra isn’t big into being around people, we could leave her with the BatFam and Artemis can permanently take her place, but that’s up for debate. (I know it can maybe be a little confusing having a Cassie and a Cass on the same team, but that’s why in my universe it’s Cassandra Cain and *Cassidy* Sandsmark, rather than them both having the exact same first name.)

After that, no idea what will happen to the Teen Titans, but there sure isn’t gonna be a Robin leading them. So we move to the next gen of Young Justice years later. Currently being led by Robin V (Damian Wayne), Aquagirl II (Lorena), and Superboy II (Jon). Returning members include Blue Beetle, Static shock, and Jenny Hex (ooh, look, a typo). New characters include Jinx, Stargirl (who I’ve given a rough first draft makeover), Sideways, Rose Wilson, and potentially Jericho as our rogue YJ member.

So those are all the members I’ve got so far. What do you think?

Day fourteen of “obligatory sugar baby Kon” behind the cut. tw: mentions of past grooming/abuse prev: (( chrono || non-chrono ))

“Don’t take this the wrong way, but I think your life might be a little bit insane,” Tim says, now increasingly certain that Kon is just a living weirdness magnet and it is therefore his fault that every single Young Justice mission so far has been objectively buck-wild and borderline deranged. Previously he was just blaming the concentration of teenage superheroes with very different power sources and specialties and personalities all stubbornly jammed into one even more stubborn team, but “previously” did not include all the necessary data or any stories about gargoyle-riding supermodels possessed by dead gunslingers. 

Tim has heard some stories in the community, for sure, but that is a story.

“I mean, Hex and Grokk aren’t that weird, are they?” Kon asks with a shrug. “Not any weirder than the Event Horizon was, anyway.” 

“The what?” Tim asks, because Kon definitely said that like it was something’s name and not a metaphor for something or an actual event horizon. 

“Oh, sorry, the Event Horizon was this club I used to hit up with some buds,” Kon says as he snags three more grilled cheese(s?) off the stack and stacks them to bite through all three at once like some kind of unholy and incredibly greasy and buttery club sandwich or something. Tim is somehow morbidly fascinated, vaguely grossed out, and sort of charmed all at once. “It was always moving, was the thing, so there was this handstamp thing we all had that we used to teleport over whenever we wanted to party. Neverending space rave, basically, so you didn’t have to worry about hours or last call or anything. Club kinda got obliterated, though, so I actually dunno know if the teleport trick still works or where it’d send me if I tried usin’ it now?” 

It is definitely Kon’s fault that Mxyzptlk happened to them, Tim decides. 

“Oh, cool,” he says, and because after tonight he officially does not trust anyone who Kon has spent time with in a party environment, much less at an intergalactic rave–“Do you still hang out with them? Anybody I’d have heard of?” 

“Uh, not really. And . . . I don’t think so?” Kon shrugs. “Sparx, maybe you mighta. Otherwise it was Aura, Kaliber, Hero, and, uh–Half-Life. Also Hero’s dog was kinda around. Or maybe Hero was, like, Rex’s . . . uh, pet, or whatever? Or they were just roommates? Situation unclear there, honestly.” 

“How is that an unclear situation?” Tim asks with a frown, a little confused by that one. That’s not– 

“Rex was, like, this super-soldier war hero mystic type, and like, he could talk and whatever, so I don’t really get what was going on there,” Kon clarifies between bites of grilled cheese, which clarifies absolutely nothing. “I guess he was a WWII vet, but he drank from the Fountain of Youth or something? Also went to the moon once and used to be in the circus. Super-weird dude. Or dog, whichever.” 

. . . . . . it is definitely, definitely Kon’s fault that Mxyzptlk happened to them, Tim amends. 

“Never mind, I get it now,” he says, and Kon laughs, and then–hesitates, for a moment, and suddenly seems very interested in the last couple bites of his unholy abomination of a grilled cheese stack. 

“Hero was cool,” he says, his tone a little–off. Tim pauses himself, and wonders why. And also wonders if this “Hero” guy is actually somebody he needs to put on his supervillain hit list, considering. 

“Was that seriously his codename?” he asks, and Kon grins.

Juniper Catalina Solano in A Place In This World – Nick’s best friend, moved away when they were 13 (basically just before his kiss with Tara and before he became friends with Imogen), they stayed in touch and are still very very close

Details iffy but her parents die early in season 1 and it was in their will that if anything happened to them, they wanted their daughter to live with Sarah Nelson (they got along well and trusted her, she wasn’t their very best friend but they knew it was the best choice for their daughter), so she’s just moved back

Elizabeth Zella Maximoff in Maiden, Mother, Crone – Billy & Tommy's triplet, ends up in a slightly older body after the Hex breaks down, finds Billy completely by chance and now will not rest until they get Tommy back too

Morvan Abbott (x Jason Todd) in Abyss – Rowena Abbott's younger, lowkey the reason she was in jail (specifically, she killed their step father while protecting Morvan from him). After Rowena's arrest he ran away, found himself taken in by a woman with powers somewhat similar to his own and a vested interest in not letting Trigon destroy the world. After Rowena ends up with Dick and Rachel, they encounter this woman on their search for answers, and Rowena finally sees her baby brother again

How do you think they'd all respond to a pagan/wiccan?

This reminds me of my question of how Ubisoft is gonna fuck up AC Hexe when they revealed Codename Hexe last year XD

Anyway, let’s start...

Altaïr:

I could make a “what is this sorcery” joke but that would be too easy. If he sees a pagan or a wiccan, he wouldn’t really care. This man was raised in one of the most religious sect of the Brotherhood and turned out to be an atheist so, in all honesty, he couldn't care less who or what someone worships. What matters to him is the way someone worships must not endanger the innocent or get in the way of his mission. The most he’d do is interact with the pagan or the wiccan in a more intellectual way, gain more knowledge and information and then… just go his way.

Ezio:

This man was raised as a catholic in Renaissance Italy but he’s also someone who punch the living out of the pope so it really depends on when he would meet a pagan or a wiccan. Before the Auditore execution? Definitely feel awkward around them but wouldn’t insult them. During AC2? Vengeance is more important to him and he’d ally with anyone who would help him. Brotherhood? Dude is pretty much at war with the Church AND the Followers of Romulus, he has no beef with pagans or wiccans as long as they don’t side with his enemies. Revelations? This man has seen and experienced too much that he’s just chill with everything. They want to be allies? Sure. They just want to get on with their lives? That’s okay too.

Ratonhnhaké:ton:

Ratonhnhaké:ton was raised to respect the beliefs of others and he’s definitely more open-minded than a lot of people (even Haytham). He would try to respect their beliefs the best he could and would ask if he doesn’t know anything. He won’t necessarily be a practitioner himself but he’d definitely know more than normal.

Edward:

He has no problem with any pagan or wiccan. If it was a pirate though, he’d definitely take any of their superstitions because better safe than sorry, after all.

Arno:

France actually has a… ‘severe’ history with witch-hunts (around 1000 execution during the 14th to 17th century) so Arno would probably stay clear of any pagan or wiccan if he knows them but he wouldn’t turn a blind eye if they were being harassed (or worse). The most he’d do is help them escape and give them a chance of finding peace elsewhere.

Jacob:

If a wiccan or a pagan wants to be a Rook, Jacob will welcome them with open arms. He doesn’t necessarily believe them but he wouldn’t be rude to them. The most he’d do is light teasing but he’d stop as soon as he notices they’re feeling awkward or annoyed. To him, it doesn’t matter who they are. If they want to be a Rook and can follow the rules, they’re Jacob’s Rooks.

Evie:

She’s look at it from an intellectual standpoint and would be a bit wary considering the danger of being close to a wiccan or a pagan their time has. She won’t stop Jacob from making them their Rooks and she won’t try to bully them or push them around. She’d be a bit distant but it won’t really matter all that much since she’s not close to any of the Rooks anyway. She’d research about them though on the off-chance that they have any interest or information about any POE or Isu related things.

Bayek:

… I mean… he’s a Medjay from Ancient Egypt. He wouldn’t bat an eye if someone worships a specific god as he knows a ‘few’ people who do that. He also wouldn’t bat an eye on any ritual practices or spells they might do as long as it doesn’t endanger anyone. As far as Bayek is concerned, as long as no one is getting hurt, people should be free to worship as they please.

Desmond:

Dude would definitely try wicca. This man has been denied of so many things growing up that he’d try anything at least once… as long as it’s not too dangerous. If you’re looking to convert anyone, Desmond’s your guy.

Layla:

She’d be cool about it. Honestly, Layla looks like the type to have pagan or wiccan friends, maybe even someone who tried it when she was in college XD

Hello what do you feel and think about Crimson Curse/Aerika Harkness character and and how are you think if Aerika back instead Amaranth what would Aerika and Wanda do together in Scarlet Witch comics

For anyone that's not familiar-- and I don't blame you!-- Aerika Harkness was a short-lived character who was introduced in A-Next (1998), which was a part of MC2 imprint. The MC2 continuity is set in a slightly less compressed timeline, and is mostly centered around a new generation of heroes taking on the legacies of iconic Marvel characters. Aerika joins a new iteration of the Avengers under the codename Crimson Curse, with a costume patterned after the Scarlet Witch. She's not actually related to Wanda herself, rather, she is the granddaughter of Agatha Harkness. She is a witch, but does not possess chaos magic or anything similar to Wanda's hex power-- instead, she primarily uses elemental magic, and claims to be one with the forces of nature.

[Yes, she has chalk-white skin and pointed ears. Yes, it makes her look like a vampire. No, this is never explained. And yeah, retroactively, she kind of looks like Lore.]

I think Aerika is the most under-utilized character in A-Next, and possibly the entire MC2 imprint. She's only in ten issues before-- spoiler alert-- she dies, and although she goes out on a high note, she gets the least amount of personality or relationship development, and we learn next to nothing about her backstory or motives. We don't even get a clear sense of how she feels about Wanda, which is a shame because-- spoiler alert again-- Wanda is at the center of the big reveal which ultimately leads to Aerika's death. To some degree, this is intentional-- Aerika is characterized as reserved and mysterious, only to reveal that she is more powerful and courageous than she lets on. But with so few appearances and so little page time, she mostly just feels half-baked.

Following her death, Aerika is featured in some flashback sequences and, many years later, an alternate version of her appears as a background character during the 2015 Secret Wars event. There's nothing substantial here, but we do learn that she received her costume and codename from Clint Barton as part of a Kooky Quartet revival gimmick. To me, this perfectly encapsulates the wasted potential of this character. Being Agatha's granddaughter, Aerika could have a really meaningful connection to Wanda, but it's played off as completely incidental. She didn't choose this legacy, it was chosen for her, for reasons that have nothing to do with her, and we never get to find out how she feels about that.

Aerika only has one real interaction with Wanda, when the Avengers encounter a spirit projection of Wanda that is haunting the mansion. The scene makes heavy, heavy use of racist language, and I know that this is just a product of the writers' ignorance, but moments like this really sour my view of the character.

Regarding Amaranth-- I don't think there is any point in comparing her and Aerika as characters. They exist for completely different reasons, and Amaranth has a unique origin that I wouldn't want to replace. If a version of Aerika were introduced in Earth-616, I think she'd have to be pretty different, and I wouldn't want her to become the "Crimson Curse." The Scarlet Witch legacy is more specific and meaningful in this continuity, and Wanda already has characters lined up to become her successor. There is no need for the Crimson Curse in this world.

Some other variations I tried, the one had seemed a bit threatening from the angle and lighting XD

And my 'stealth op' to get the captura pics anyways.. which amuses me greatly.

I have a bit of a head-canon that my Drifter has a nervous habit of transference jumping into the Wyrm sentinel when overwhelmed, particularly when they weren't sure about Arthur's comfort with transference or not yet, as they wouldn't want to intrude or upset him. Did it often enough in that first while knowing the Hex, that later on I figure a few of them might call her Wyrm as a nickname of sorts, and changed her codename to something like "Caterpillar." Might draw or write up something for all that, not sure.

I haven't been on this platform in years and slowly started making posts and reblogs again. Most of the accounts I did follow back then are either gone, or no longer active. So I'm listing EVERY THING I'm into, so I can follow people back with similar tastes and interests. Consider it a get to know me things whole I make updates.
